i think nephset is very fun to think about and analyze because nephthys basically revolves around seth (and seth to nephthys in a similar vein) (minus the whole "being hypnotized by osiris and forced to carry their baby (anubis) and lying to seth about it. which is not really her fault) (also i dont care what anyone else says anubis is seths son) but i find it very odd that when present day nephseth is brought up especially in the newer chapters theres this. pushback to it. and the reason why really feels like its because she gets in the way of the yaoi rather than it being the fact that they probably would not work together anymore

like dont get me wrong. i currently believe that seth and nephthys cannot come together again without it being really awkward. it has been awkward for so long and their relationship has been strained so much by seths insanity that it definitely does not work. if it were to work they would need intense couples counciling (that would also not exist). however i feel like most people struggle to realize you can both ship/like/think about nephseth along with horuseth and it doesnt devalue the latter at all

About your Mettaton post, idk if it'll help you feel better (and it's ok if it doesn't, this is just my own two cents) but while yeah a lot of the focus on Mettaton might be JUST for the shipping, for at least a decent chunk of people (because I'm one of them) it is that it gives us a new outlet for giving Mettaton personality and using him outside of just undertale !! A lot of Mettatons popularity through the fandom for 10 years has STILL been mostly shipping, specifically papyton.

I was never a papyton shipper despite loving them both, I just never thought they "clicked", so the only enjoyment I got to use with him was his relationships with frisk, alpha, blooky, and everyone else, but no real romance because I didn't ship his only real "option". So finding a ship between him and someone else that I personally think suits him MUCH MUCH more than papyrus, THAT is why I'm so excited about the tennaton ship.

So if it helps any, it's not specifically that Mettaton is only good through a ship lense, it's that shipping was the ONLY way I never got to experience his character, and I'm sure I'm not the only one with this specific view.

but, saying this all with love, I definitely do get it. I mentioned it in the post, but will reiterate here; mettatenna is very good and I like it a LOT. it is a ship I actively care deeply for and find so much joy in seeing the things people create for it. it's also just... my point is not, like. so much that mettatenna is a Bad Outlet for mettaton characterization, not at all. just that I wish it was not the Only outlet people have latched onto now with the hype of DR and the excitement still buzzing. there's a lot of things being said about mettaton that myself and other people have been wishing to see touched on for years, and a lot of wonderful interpretations/writing for his character coming along, but it's almost exclusively through the lens of shipping. it's just a bit of a bummer for people who prefer to have the choice of platonic content; this is not me wishing the ship content was not there, rather just that there was more of a choice between mettatenna content and mettaton content removed from such a big ship right now. this is not me saying that people making mettatenna content are somehow lesser writers or stooping low, rather the opposite. it means that a lot of the mettatenna content we're seeing is incredibly well-written, made with love, and overall wonderful; it's catching the attention of writers and artists that really do have a great understanding of mettaton as a character. it's just a little bit of a bummer that it took a ship for that to happen, and that, because that is how many people found a deeper appreciation for his character, it's the outlet that many will stick with and that (by extension) others will catch onto most. I am an arospec artist and writer that shares this experience with many other people in fandom as a whole, including allo fans that just prefer platonic content over ship; it can be a little sad getting excited about a character and finding joy in said character, while having to scrounge for content of that character removed from the Fandom's Big Ship. I don't mean any ill will to people that enjoy mettatenna (reitterating again and again, I do care dearly for these characters) or to devalue mettatenna when I say all this. it's just a conflicting thing.

that said, there is still clearly a lot of love being put into the art/fics/etc. for these two characters in mettatenna stuff!!! you all are wonderful and your stuff is invaluable waughh..... again. this topic just conflicting for me and I am Not everybody. do not take all this too seriously this is someone's blog online where they talk informally about whatever for fun

while i’m on this topic. to anyone with “freaks dni” in their bio, do you know the history of the word ‘freak’? do you know that it came into common use because of freakshows, which largely showcased disabled people (specifically physically deformed people) and intersex people? do you know that to a lot of folks, even today, “sexual freak” is a direct synonym for “person who has consensual sex with someone of the same gender”? are you aware of the subjectivity of the word you’re using, and the historical (and current) hatred behind it, and the fact that people cannot read your mind and will not know what random groups of ‘disgusting’ people you’re talking about just from a single broad-purpose word?

The warmth of Tamlen's back against yours as he regales the younger kids with stories of the trouble you've brewed together. Merrill's head in your lap, soft even breaths as you braid daisies into her fine hair. The feeling of a halla's wet nose and velvet fur around its mouth as it takes the treats you snuck past Maren from your hand. Marethari's fond exasperation when you return from a hunt with Tamlen and Fenarel all covered in mud up to your armpits.

It is the ache in your chest, burning and twisting and ever-alight, knowing you will never return. You cannot return. There is no following the halla trails back.

Loved the new chapter and much like poor Grian I am hungry. Hungry for more chapters /silly :33 but I was wondering (and like. This is no pressure just pure curiosity I swear) but is there like a general time frame for when new chapters come out? I love it so much and I was wondering maybe how long it takes for another to come out. Seriously no pressure tho it’s amazing and take your time!!!!

Generally updates used to be spaced out by about a month or so !! I cant really make any concrete promises now though, since i have like . at least 4 big events im planning for next year??? 2025 is going 2 be so busy for me 💥💥💥💥💥💥 but you guys are gonna get fed some EXTREMELY fun zines and events, so do keep your eyes peeled for those when they start getting announced 👀👀👀

okay wait getting into the first half of this post again because i've been mulling it over and honestly i've kind of come to the conclusion that i don't think vaati mysteriously resurrected himself during the hero of the four sword's era, i think it's literally just whatever was left of him pulling back into something that just resembled him with no memory left but his name. like. hang on. you have these quotes from his final three transformations within the minish cap:

Vaati Reborn: The sorcerer Vaati took this form after draining the power of the light force from Princess Zelda. The evil beams from his eyes are devastating.

Vaati Transfigured: Once Vaati's body has been shattered, this dark form rises up, all that remains of the evil sorcerer. Only the sacred Four Sword can defeat him.

Vaati's Wrath: This is the embodiment of purest evil, the final form of the power-mad Vaati. Its mind is consumed with a hunger for destruction. Find its weakness.

and you have the phrase "all that remains of [him]" and the pronoun switch from "he" to "it" that comes veryyyyy suddenly. and we know he died at the end of the minish cap because we SAW what him getting (re)sealed looked like in four swords and they're two very distinct animations:

and the minish cap even ends with nothing left of him—all that's left is the wishing cap that he stole. so i do think vaati really did die at the end of the minish cap, since based on the description of the figurines, vaati as the person he was may have actually died the moment his body was shattered and he became vaati transfigured. so honestly no wonder his memories got more and more shot to hell as time went on until he wasn't even capable of speech in the four swords adventures game, apparently. if you follow this train of logic, the vaati that the other three wielders of the four sword fought really wouldn't be vaati at all—it would be, instead and quite literally, "all that remained" of him. and since he was filled to the brim with a ridiculous amount of light force and light force is in all living beings....yeah the broken pieces of him definitely still had the magical strength to cobble himself back together and start terrorizing people again before he got sealed for the first time. it DOES make sense.

i’m probably preaching to the choir here, but you absolutely cannot scapegoat third-party voters for this one. even if every third-party voter voted for harris instead, this would only benefit harris in states where trump got a plurality of votes instead of a majority. (i.e. the states where the harris and third-party votes total more than 50%.)

there are two such states: wisconsin and michigan. they have a combined 25 electoral votes. trump currently has 295 electoral votes. if harris had won those two states, he’d still be at 270.

If you’ve recently watched one or more of Legundo’s 100 Days videos, you might have some questions – questions like what’s with all the eyes, who the heck is Decem, what’s an Alteran, how do I get involved in the ARG, why is there chess happening, can I get off Legundo’s wild ride yet, et cetera. This post seeks to answer most of those questions in as straightforward a manner as possible (can’t help with the last one, though – you’re stuck here now!), while also sticking as close as possible to only canon information in order for people to form their own theories. Basically, consider it a brief lore primer for everything 100 Days Multiverse!

But first, a few disclaimers:

This is gonna be a long post. It's going under a readmore. If readmores don't work for you I'm sorry.

This is copied from a WIP document of ours that attempts to record pretty much everything going on in the series, which necessarily means it will at some point become outdated. (Time check: this post was made on 10/14/2023. There are still at least 2 puzzles that haven't been solved yet.) If anything significant comes up I'll try to add it to the summary and therefore that document, but there isn't anything yet.

There will be a lot of “might”, “possibly”, “may or may not have”, “somewhat implied to”, and other various caveats throughout this post. We don’t have a lot of information explicitly stated to be canon at the moment, and while a lot of things seem like sure bets, there’s no telling how unreliable these narrators might be. We don’t like claiming things are canon unless we’re 100% sure that’s the truth, so there’s a lot of weasel words in this summary. You’ll have to forgive us for this one – we prefer to be precise over definitive whenever possible. (And we apologize for not having cited sources here -- if something's incorrect, please call us on it!)

Finally: there is a more official lore document! It contains more details on pretty much everything here, focuses more on puzzle-solving, and also contains a great theorycrafting section -- you can read that here (and thank you to Lucid for creating it!)

Okay. Enough preamble. Let's get into the thick of it.

Legundo has been traveling the multiverse for a while, hopping from modded world to modded world from where he left his S2 Hardcore world behind. He seems to have at least some amount of partial amnesia, as he starts to remember things about his past over time, but to begin with he doesn’t remember (or at least doesn’t seem to remember) where he came from.

Legundo is also not alone – he’s being followed. Strange monoliths appear in certain worlds, made of blackstone/gilded blackstone when “dormant” and obsidian/crying obsidian when “active”. He speaks to these at first as though they can help him, but gradually becomes more and more suspicious of them, and eventually comes to realize they are harbingers of a group of entities/entity called Decem.

Decem has a history with Legundo that unravels throughout the course of the series. They have several associated motifs in addition to the monoliths/crying obsidian – most notably among them are eyes (especially Dimensional Doors) and usage of chess terminology/general references to chess. They also have a custom musical leitmotif -- current link to it here. (You'll usually be able to hear this one or something similar playing around when he stumbles across a monolith, I'm pretty sure.)

Despite “Decem” meaning “ten”, there are actually nine entities in the group, called Aspects. Each Aspect is associated with a different color and has a different title:

the Warrior, red

the Seer, orange

the Historian, yellow

the Merchant, green

the Senator, cyan

the Philosopher, purple

the Noble, pink

the Scientist, grey

the Wizard, black

Members of Decem are prone to infighting and general disagreements on how to solve their problems, especially the problem of Legundo; apparently, at some point Legundo was a member of the group himself, called the Architect and by process of elimination associated with the color blue. Decem seem to want Legundo back, but also don’t seem to fully agree on what method of doing this will be best. Legundo is also not particularly happy about this, referring to his cycle of modded worldhopping as a sort of prison, but he doesn’t seem to remember much (if any) of his past as the Architect.

When the world download for Hardcore S2 was released, viewers were made aware of a new faction, called the Alterans, who appear to be in direct conflict with Decem. While Decem claim that the Alterans are trying to “hide the truth” from us, the Alterans imply that they view their conflict with Decem as a desperate bid for survival (though they do also refer to it as a game of chess). At some point, they did something “ridiculous” as of yet unclear; they also apparently hosted the amnesiac Legundo at some point. Apparently, they were largely against telling him anything about where he came from, although they did “leave him his name” despite it being supposedly risky. It’s unclear if they are the cause of Legundo’s amnesia and/or his leaving Decem, but they certainly don’t want him to remember anything more than he already has. (As of Undercover, it seems extremely likely they are at the very least the cause of the Architect’s fall.)

Decem has a tendency to speak directly to viewers of 100 Days Multiverse videos, especially when Legundo dies or when other glitches occur. When this happens, they tend to leave links to hidden videos/audio clips and/or puzzles that lead to these things. As of right now, they appear to be offering the viewers who have solved their puzzles some sort of job, and may also be showing up on the viewer SMP during its fifth season (the chronology of this is very unclear – see Undercover). It’s unclear what this position within Decem entails, although given their chess motif it’s probably not an unreasonable assumption to say that they are recruiting new pawns.

why thank you very much!! i love love love the style of the cartoon, it's full of smart workarounds and some of the best posing i have EVER seen, not to mention the gorgeous colors. it's also got the personal style of every individual storyboard artist and animator shining through pretty much every single scene... just a gorgeous show, really
