Solomon Eaten: Welcome at this church meeting
Kylian Freeman: We will discus the coming up from the church elders election and we are discussing the new church vision. Solomon will introduce the topic.
Solomon: As church elders we made a church vision. We have a growing church and want to make clear where we stand for as church and churchmembers. You all had a handout with the main points we want to include in our vision.
Ralph Kenley: Eh, can I ask something?
Kylian: Ofcourse, it's a discussion so you all could ask questions.
Ralph: It says here that we think women should take care for children and are not meant to work outside the house.
Solomon: That's right
Ralph: Well, I don't really agree with that. My mother worked my whole childhood and I turned out fine. I think it's perfectly fine for Leah to work when we become parents
Harvey Barrow: So you two want to become parents?
Ralph: Ofcourse
Harvey: I doesn't look like it. You guys are married for 2 years and no pregnancy yet. It's clear you two are preventing children.
a shock wave goes around the church
Solomon: I think, as church we stand for being quiverful. Every child is a gift from the Lord and none should be prevented.
Ethan Barrow: Well, as someone with just six children gifted by the Lord that's easy. I have nine to look after and provide for. I sure get Ralph for preventing children
Harvey: Ethan!
Ethan: sorry, dad, but had only six, just like Solomon. It's harder having more children.
Joshua Leppert: I think it's better that we all stay calm during this discussion. We each have our own family, our own circumstances.
Tumblr media
Justin Delgato: Well, you have 13 children. How do you feel about being quiverful?
Pierre Clarkson: That's not fair! He has been funded by all of us all along.
Justin: Oh
Jordan Kenley: I stand by Ralph. I don't think it's wrong to let a women work or prevent having children
Dylan Kenley: Yeah! Me too.
Ethan: I think we should all leave the desicion making to each and every one of the men here. Not to the church!
By a whole group: yeah!
Joshua: I think that's a fair point.
Solomon: Well, it's not. We all should stand together to make a clear message to our children.

The universally hates old people crowd truly does not understand how much of our society is run by old retired ladies working what ought to be a 40-hour a week paid position with benefits for free. You have no idea how much knowledge would be lost if everyone over the age of 60 just disappeared right now.

“Dr. Clarke Discussed Reform of Prisons,” Kingston Whig-Standard. January 26, 1933. Page 3.  --- Men's Club of Princess St. Church Held Supper Meeting --- The men's Club of Princess Street Church met on Wednesday evening to enjoy a banquet arranged by the Ladies' Association. The repast was greatly enjoyed.
After refreshment were over, Melville Lemmon, the chairman, called upon Mr. Christmas to lead the community sing-song. J. Parent contributed a saxaphone solo, which gave evidence of much skill. Miss Wilkinson was his accompanist. In the call for an encore, Miss Wilkinson substituted by giving a brilliant piano solo.
Mr. Lemmon then introduced the guest speaker, Prof. O. H. Clarke, of Queen's University, who spoke on “Prison Reform.” The speaker told of the many heroes of the 17th and 18th century who had blazed the way in this noble work. He cited many authorities for study in all departments of the subject. He gave a fund of information which he had collected from personal visits to penal institutions and from his personal acquaintance with prison officials. He pictured vividly the method of self-government introduced into some Institutions for both adults and juniors and noted the great success of such movements. Dr. Clarke gave conclusive reasons for the abolition of capital punishment, noting that in the last century about 350 offences in Britain were punishable by hanging - even for stealing a few shillings worth or slaying a deer.
Dr. Clarke held the attention at the club with dear and forceful facts and arguments and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded him.

ghost who knows a lot about catholicism because at one point in his life, for whatever reason, he had a bit of a fixation on the mythology and aesthetics and history of it vs. soap, a confused, sort-of-ex-catholic who initially mistakes ghost as super religious because why else would he ever know that much about the saints that soap himself doesn’t even know much about

Maybe the problem with Christian fiction is that it's non-denominational. People are just "Christian", with no effort put into showing what practicing that religion looks like for them specifically. No indication that there are other Christians who could have different beliefs. No wrestling with differing ideas and the struggle of how one should live out their Christian faith. And that makes it unrealistic and unrelatable.

okay okay i have another ex-christian survey for y’all, creator edition: did your family ever see something you drew or wrote and think you were having Dreams And Visions revelations style. i painted a copy of the wonderbolts poster from mlp:fim for my room when i was a teenager and they thought it was supposed to be the four horsemen so they called the pastor for guidance.

There's a queer family in front of me at church.
A child
with hair shorn short
a rainbow dress
with leggings
and a big smile
as they play with their siblings.
A parent
with pink dye growing out
an upside-down triangle
tattooed on their wrist.
There's a pair of girls on the left side of the chapel
who love theatre
and boy scouts
and their mom is wearing slacks
and their dad kisses
the tops of their heads.
And the woman two pews ahead
picks up her water bottle
and looks around
before taking a long sip
showing off
the rainbow stickers
in case our eyes are watching.

trying to come up with something pithy or incisive but honestly I just got nothing
"I will worship the Christian god if people die" is where we're at now, I guess
