My husband got me a couple packs where you get a character but don't know who it is until you open it. I got Cid. Every week when I water mh bamboo, I drown her and for no particular reason at all I thought some of you might like to watch.

...This was supposed to be Crosshair's big return to the squad, but it just feels so...well, empty.
For one thing, they were still 200% fine with leaving him alone with Hemlock.
Bad personal history behind the scenes or not; discovered knowledge of all the evils he was slowly enacting upon other Troopers or not...keeping Crosshair in the one place where torture and human experimentation reigned supreme was seemingly, according to Hunter, ten times better than getting him the kriff out of there, while only Omega "deserved" rescue.
This might have never been discussed out loud, but sadly, the bad vibes are still there.
Why is that?
Secondly, that big heart-to-heart talk that was supposed to have happened a few episodes ago...curiously sounded a bit more like generalized statements that offered exactly zero closure at the least; at the most, a huge cop-out from Crosshair and Hunter both.
In other words, nothing specific was said regarding the situations with Cid, Saw Gerrera, Rampart, Nolan, or the Commanders Cody and Mayday...and absolutely nothing about the Mindflaying Machine fron the pilot episode.
Again, everyone...why is that??
Why is it so difficult, let alone impossible, to discuss anything that's happened in the last year in canon, or else the last three years in real time? Does Hunter truly never wonder what happened to Crosshair on Kamino, Barton-4, or Tantiss?
Moreover, does Wrecker truly have so little to say to the one sibling who also went through the horror of the inhibitor chip activation, other than two whole soundbites revolving around the mission of the day and nothing else?
Inversely, does Crosshair have no questions whatsoever of just who his squad members were working for, let alone what they had to do for a handful of credits altogether, and all the while receiving a few surprise attacks by people who literally wished to rip Omega away from the only family she's ever known?
Or...could my suspicions about this entire series be correct, and these stubborn Fett men won't say a word about themselves or each other unless their 13-year-old sister/daughter handles it instead?
Final Analysis--If they're really just going to be silent about everything that took place before this season...then whoever said on Twitter that this should be turned into a book/novel is absolutely right, because a lot more would have been added here and there wouldn't be even more questions added to my "Unsolved Mysteries List". There might also be a little less leaning on Omega as the emotional translator, too, which would be great considering these adult figures kinda should be doing this themselves. Anyways, thank you for your time.

Tbb S3e8 thoughts!
At the end of the episode, Fennec is talking to Cid OR Fennec is talking to Asajj.
I honestly don't know who 🤔
Do you think it could be Cad Bane?

Executive Cucumber's (sorta) thoughts about the Bad Batch 03×10 & 03x11!
Spoilers under the cut
All right guys, I'm not doing my full list of thoughts. These episodes were really, really emotional for me for many reasons and I do not have the emotional energy to do my usual dives. I'm stepping away from the fandom in general for this week. Honestly, for my mental health, I just do not need to be around Fandom discourse right now. I've already left the pertinent subreddits and hopefully I'll survive.
But my brief thoughts!
So, I majored in the Humanities in college. I saw and read a lot of amazing art. But there was a category of art that I like to call, 'this was beautiful and poignant and life changing, but I never want to consume it again.'
These episodes fall under this category. They were art, and they were excruciating.
I also am still firmly in camp 'CX-2 is Tech.' Because it actively makes The Point of No Return less tragic if it is not him. Part of the reason I was sobbing during it was that it was TECH who was being so cruel, destroying the home he'd nearly had, destroying HIS ship, nearly killing his brothers.
And it's Tech, who gave Omega her first comm, who loves her, who would die to keep her safe, who takes her comm and takes her back to Tantiss.
Plus, who the heck else says 'domicile?'
(On the plus side, he gets his revenge on Cid)
My heart is broken for Omega. I hate that she has to make this choice. I KNEW she was going to sacrifice herself. If anyone says 'the Empire did nothing wrong' to me, even as a joke, they're losing a finger.
I dread how the rest of the Batch are going to confront each other about this. Crosshair was also the only one who would let her do this. In a positive way.
...I loved seeing Phee.
I wish I had more to say about Identity Crisis, but I spent that episode trying to overcome my disappointment that it wasn't about Tech. It was still an exceptional episode, regardless of my expectations.
But I do want to say, Cad Bane takes a lot of kid jobs. What's up with that? Weirdo.
Anyway, happy birthday to me! I get: Omega getting taken and Tech destroying everything he loves. Yaaaaaaaaaaaay.

Phee confronts Cid following her betrayal of Clone Force 99
Tumblr media
“They got away? I didn’t know that.” She didn’t think the clones were the type for revenge, but her choice to remain on Ord Mantell was starting to look like a poor one. “They’ll find her then. Don't worry. Even without Goggles, those boys are—”
“TECH! His name was TECH, Cid! You owed him most of all, and you couldn’t even give them time to grieve him before you turned them over to the Empire that wanted them dead. And for what? A case full of credits?”
“I said I’m not happy with what I did! I regret it. But it’s done now. That list won’t help you get her back.”
Phee glanced again at the chrono and sighed. “We have to try. The Imperial who has her isn’t part of the military. He’s a scientist. A cloning scientist. We don’t know exactly what he wants with her, but it can’t be good.”
“Tiny’s…a lab rat?”
READ THE REST HERE!
Please leave a kudo on AO3 if you liked it! Kudos are protein for my writing muscles!

Okay, speaking of Cid…this is probably not significant but it is there and I just noticed it, so I’m going to point it out:
When the gang first meets Cid, she’s wearing this big chunky necklace:
Tumblr media
And she’s wearing it every time we see her after that…
Tumblr media
…until she gets ousted by Roland in “Infested.”
Tumblr media
And she gets her parlor (and presumably her business, but maybe not) by the end of that episode, but we never see her wearing that necklace again.
Tumblr media
And I kind of want to know why. As in, maybe she was the head of a larger smuggling ring, and that necklace was the symbol for being the head of that smuggling ring, but when she got ousted by Roland she got ousted from that smuggling ring, too, and didn’t get her position in the ring back when she got her parlor back. Maybe not that, specifically, but something like that, or maybe it’s a family thing, or something. Maybe. Anyway, the production team consistently put it there and then suddenly but consistently had it not be there anymore with “Infested,” and I want to know if there’s a reason why.

Characters I'd Like to See Return in TBB Season 3
My thoughts pulled from rewatch notes back in September. With season three's release in one week, I thought this would be relevant:)
I excluded any characters we saw in the trailer (Rex and Phee) but they did make the cut!
• Benni
An unlikely return, but I enjoyed Benni's character. His thievery could be a great asset to the Batch's retrieval.
I feel that Benni would help the Batch solely for Omega. It was her act of kindness that made him change his mind - the first real friend he ever had.
He ended his episode with "If you ever need a thief, I owe ya." which puts him in the perfect position to return.
• Cody
I'm really hoping for a Cody cameo. We know he went AWOL but maybe he is also on Mount Tantiss and escapes with Crosshair. I just want a conclusion to his story y'all😭
• Cid
I would like to see Cid help the Batch. This is a very big decision - she has a good relationship with the Empire right now, but maybe Phee guilts her into helping. Maybe the thought of Omega makes Cid give in - it wouldn't be the first time. I'm just not sure that her character would allow for development. She seems too static and unyielding but it would be very satisfying to see her do good in the end.
I think this would be the ideal end to season 3 - reuniting all the people who the Bad Batch aided. They are down three men and are in desperate need of allies. Rex, Phee, Benni, Cody, and Cid help the Batch break Omega and Crosshair out of Mount Tantiss.

Finally home and I can watch the Bad Batch season finale
So you know what’s gonna happen next
I’m about to scream into the void in a post that is probably gonna be mostly incoherent
Anyway, here goes!
Omega including Crosshair ;-; and then Hunter immediately being on the fence about it 🙄 Like dude just admit you don’t want him back ugh. At least the others overruled him
What mission is Rex on? Is it smooching Ahsoka?
TECH AND PHEE you know I changed my mind about them, I think they’re adorable ;-;
I am understanding the Tech stans more and more, man is hot when he’s in his element 😳
I love that dude at the summit who sort of stands up for the clones
KRENNIC AND PROJECT STARDUST NO OH MY GOD
Wrecker putting his faith in Omega but also straight up asking her if she’s up to instead of just putting her up for the job, god the man truly is the only sane one in the batch huh AND HE’S KICKING THE MOUSE DROID
SAW OH MY GOD DFKNFSLDNFRUGNKS I love how we’re getting more and more insight in his path towards being an extremist
Would this be around the time that his Lasat mercenary killed Kallus’s unit?
Also funny how this plan of his kinda parallels the one in Rebels season 4, but then it was Saw who wanted to follow the kyber crystal to its destination and the Alliance that wanted it destroyed
That was episode 15, now on to 16 👀👀👀
TARKIN GIVING THE DO IT LINE AMAZING
Hey you know who would have been extremely useful on this mission? Crosshair! The squad is not at its strongest without him
TECH NO!!!!!!!!!
Omega is me
You know I am not gonna accept it either. Tech is gonna do a Maul. He has to
So they’re giving up on Crosshair?
And they’re back with Cid? Why? Why not go directly to Pabu? Ofc she would betray them urgh
Fuck okay I said before that the Batch needed to experience loss, but I meant like Hunter or something ;-:
Maybe the clones are paternal because their template was, ever considered that?
NO HEMLOCK DON’T CANONISE IT NO NO NO
He’s lying. He’s got Tech detained too. Tech isn’t dead. I am not accepting this
Love how they both immediately know it’s Echo
Well we all knew this season would end with them having to save Omega
Crosshair ;-;
SEE I KNEW EMERIE WAS A CLONE
also
HUNTER YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE
TECH SACRIFICED HIMSELF TO SAVE HIS BROTHERS INCLUDING CROSSHAIR AND YOU WANNA REPAY THAT BY FUCKING RETIRING?!?!?
GO SAVE CROSSHAIR YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE
IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN YOU
