literally in every CC book, everyone has to be obsessed with the herondales. I swear CC is the most unreliable narrator ever. because she has to make every character bow down and worship a herondale. it doesn’t matter what they’ve done. I thought the herondale love was insufferable in TMI but its just as bad in TID

and Magnus saying black hair and blue eyes are my favorite combo and then making that Magnus’s whole thing in TMI about Alec. what would have happened if Alec didn’t have this combo???? would Magnus not pay attention to Alec lmao look I love Malec but never book Malec. only show Malec and that still needed some improvements

but why does everyone have to be in love with every herodnale. she’s got to realize that everyone obsessing over Jace, Will, James is not healthy. you’re allowed to not like certain characters, it’s okay. I used to love TID, I really did. I thought wow Will is actually kind of funny. I fell in love with Jem, Gabriel, and Gideon- and I stand by this, they’re my favorites still and will always be my favs

but let’s not pretend Will is a good person. I don’t care if he has black hair and blue eyes and CC thinks he’s the most gorgeous person to exist. if he’s a shit person, guess what? he’s automatically unattractive in my eyes. everything Will says and does in TID and TLH gets ignored. and no one can bring it up unless they’ve been labeled as a villain aka Gabriel. because if a villain says it, then it has to be wrong (I’m pretty sure this is what CC thinks)

and having Magnus say this just felt very un-Magnus like. and when I think of Magnus, I think of Harry’s Magnus. I just cannot think of Magnus as any other. so him saying this about Will and later kissing him felt so out of character for Magnus

just stop with the incessant everyone has to love Will and forgive him for all his faults but it’s okay, we will attempt to force everyone to hate Gabriel and Gideon even though they had development and admitted their faults
