HERES MY THOUGHTS
SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY
EP 1
- GROVER YOU SWEET CUTIE
- also love that they changed up the office scene to give Percy more of a reason to be mad at Grover
- fight with Ms Dodds was a bit rushed but I think that was intentional for us to feel that same “wtf is happening” feeling Percy feels
- Sally enjoying the Rain, feeling it, feeling connected, was awesome. Such a great visual representation of her connection to Poseidon and the water
- “God? Like Jesus” CRYING ON THE FLOOR THAT WAS HILARIOUS
- “I’m actually 24” Grover. You. Adorable. Nervous. Scamp. Your killing me here 😭😭😭
- ANNABETHS LINE YEEEAAHHHHHH
- THE VISUALS ARE GEORGEUSSSSSSS
EPIODE 2
- ANNABETH SILHOUETTE OVER PERCYS BED RAHHHH
- DIONYSUS CLAIMING TO BE PERCYS DAD IS THE FUNNIEST THING IVE EVER SEEN ARE YOU KIDDING. ONLY EPISODE 2 AND THERES NO WAY THEY CAN TOP THAT SCENES COMEDY THE BAR HAS BEEN SET
- Percy burning the blue candy in hopes of being able to reach his mom and talk to her I am a puddle on the floor I’m deceased I am unwell
- the element of Glory was a genius factor for them to add and it’s makes the characters choices hold so much more value. Everyone has a clear motive at camp now because of Glory and it’s just- MY GOD it’s such a good addition to drive characters actions.
- love that they made Luke and Annabeths relationship a clear sibling dynamic, much better then Annabeths crush in the books
- CLARISSE YOU DID WONDERFULLY AND CAN DO NO WRONG IN MY EYES IM SUCH A STAN
- ANNABETH READING PERCY LIKE A BOOK AND BEING SO SOCIALLY AWKWARD AND ALSO LOOKING AT HIM LIKE 🤨 PLEEEASSSEEEEE THAT WAS SO GOOD

- ANNABETH PUSHING PERCY INTO THE WATER BECAUSE SHE NEW HE WAS THE ONE TRULY 6 STEPS AHEAD OF EVERYONE
1000000/10 INCREDIBLE PHENOMENAL SHOW-STOPPING AMZING NEVER THE SAME COMPLETELY UNIQUE

Now that we’ve reached the halfway point of the PJO TV series, I want to recap my thoughts so far (as someone who first read the books back in 2010 as a fifth grader)!
I will share another post with my dislikes soon.
Likes:
- Having Sally tell the Greek myths to Percy throughout his life is SO smart. Sally has very little agency to protect her son, but this was the one way she could prepare him to be a hero.
- I love how Luke’s mentorship towards Percy is emphasized in the show. This is Percy’s first positive male role model and the first person to make Percy feel at home in the demigod world. This strong foundation really sets up these two boys to be dramatic foils.
- I like the fact that Percy is NOT the best fighter yet. We watch him stumble and struggle during his fights with Alecto, the Minotaur, and Clarisse. You can tell when his instincts kick in and even he is surprised at what he is doing.
- Having Echidna and the Chimera catch up to our heroes at the Arch because Athena ALLOWS it was brilliant!
- And the change from Percy jumping from the Arch and praying for his father’s help in the books, versus resigning himself to death and falling instead perfectly captures where Percy is in his hero’s journey. Why would he trust a god who he’s never met, and has done horrible things?
- Honestly, the contrast between Annabeth defending Athena and being forsaken versus Percy forsaking Poseidon and being rescued, is peak television!
- I am so so so relieved that the show has maintained the plotline of the gods being flawed and even cruel beings. I was certain that Disney would whitewash this aspect of the story, but I’m glad we see the heroes doubting their parents, and the gods acting weird at best or murderous at worst. After all, this is a family story and the entire Titan war is started because demigods felt abandoned by their parents.
- Finally, I was so impressed by the show’s adaptation of Grover! The way Grover was able to use his abilities as an empath and his people skills to read and manipulate Ares himself was genius! And it really shows why satyrs are trusted to guide demigods on quests.
Please let me know your likes!

Brief Book Reviews #7
(I thought I posted this months ago wtf)
#1 Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian (Book 5)
IT'S QUIET UPTOWNNNN *ugly sobbing*
Tumblr media
If you know, you know. Suffer.
So we jump straight into the action with this one. There's not a lot I can talk about without spoiling the whole thing for anyone who hasn't read it, but my heart is in pieces, I love Clarisse, and now Lin being cast as Hermes in the Disney+ series hurts. A lot. Now on to Heroes of Olympus, when I can get my paws on the box set.
...also Hades brainrot doesn't help, because now I'm thinking of Zagreus trying to help Nico, or at least make life suck less while he's in the House of Hades. Time to trawl AO3.
#2 Travis Baldree, Legends & Lattes
Why more fantasy worlds have coffee shops, I will never know. This was a fun, easy read I was able to polish off in a day, very cute, as we follow an Orcish woman, Viv, as she sets up a coffee shop, burying a shiny stone she ripped out of a giant bug under one of the flagstones of the place as some kind of luck magnet. I loved all of the characters and worldbuilding that's gone into this, especially Thimble, the rattkin that Viv and her coworker Tandri hire as a baker (there's even one of his recipes in the back of the book that I need to make sometime), and Hemington, a thaumaturgy student and awkward nerd who sounds like Percy from Vox Machina in my head and loves iced coffee. Would have liked it to be longer with a little more intrigue though, but all in all, a very good read. Now to steal ideas for my own D&D campaign. If I ever get to run it.
#3 Cavan Scott, Warhammer Adventures #6: Tomb of the Necron
I hope audiobooks count lol. Ah well, my blog my rules.
The adventures of Zelia, Mekki, Talen, and Fleagan Palla come to an end with one last stand-off with the Necrons. Honestly, the reason I put off listening to this audiobook so long was because I didn't want the adventure to end, I've grown so attached to these kids.
Well, they found Zelia's mum. And more Necrons. And yeah the hunter from the first book made it back to his mates, so Fleagan's dubstep cannon didn't work. Greeeeeaaaaat. Fuck, Necrons are terrifying (I say with The Infinite and the Divine on my TBR). Talen calls for help, and the Ultramarines show up, and he gets to be badass by using the servo sprites to free a trapped Astartes from the wreck of a Stormtalon gunship. Amity gets to be a badass by rocking some Crypt Lord's shit for touching her kids, and honestly I love that for her. I'm still sad that the kids don't stay together in the end, but god damn Black Library, you didn't have to make a book intended for 8-10 year olds so terrifying. A good ending to the series, and I will personally fight anyone who says that these books were "dumbed down" for younger audiences. These are just as good as any other Black Library book I've read. Seriously, do yourself a favour and listen to the audiobooks, David Tennant was a great choice for this.

(some) Riordanverse characters (bc I never read TKC) and which Hogwarts House I think they would be in
Warning: this is a long one
Tumblr media
Nico: the dude is definitely Gryffindor without a doubt. Like Sorting isn't about some traits and some characteristics, it's about core personality. He may have gone through some of the roughest stuff when he was 10-12, and he was resentful and bitter, but he was brave and bold af throughout everything he did. From learning about his powers, to using them relentlessly despite knowing how exhausted he is afterwards, to his willingness to do whatever is necessary to do what has to be done, because it has to be done. You can't change my mind that he's Gryffindor lol.
Grover: Do I even need to explain why he's Gryffindor? He's a satyr, and even if we're shown strong satyrs, they're not really supposed to be brave fighters. Yet he is one of the strongest, bravest nature spirits we've ever encountered in the Riordanverse, and one of the bravest in general. Like he's so passionate about doing what is good, he's a hero, and the only thing he doesn't match with common Gryffindors is that he's humble and as far from arrogant as could be possible, but it doesn't take his courage away.
Hazel: She's Gryffindor, and core personality-wise, she and Nico are very much alike. They don't ever think about themselves, like Hazel really always does what has to be done, no matter the cost, I mean she literally died preventing Gaea to rise the first time, and she freed Thanatos while believing he would take her back to the Underworld. She's brave af, and she has one of the most strong willpower we've seen in the Riordanverse. She's a passionate hero, and she's the closest thing to a real knight in shining armor.
Lester: I'm gonna place him in Gryffindor because I don't think he fits in in the other houses lmao. That said, as Apollo he's very shitty, but as Lester, he's one of the most courageous people. He's grown so much, he's so willing to actually do stuff now, and sacrifice everything to do what's right, including his life, even if he doesn't know he's gonna survive. Hell, he really went most of TTT with an incredibly painful wound that nearly turned him undead, and he cared more for the future of Camp Jupiter than his own life. Additionally, he's a bit arrogant and cocky, but he truly means well, I love Lester so much.
Clarisse: Look look, all I have to say is that no one could have pulled off less than half the stuff Clarisse has done, she's so Gryffindor it hurts. She's reckless and impulsive, but she's driven by her passion to do good, even if she's the daughter of war, and was bullied by her own father. She's daring, she's bold and she is the hero. She's also arrogant and thinks she can solve everything by herself, something characteristic more of the canon Gryffindors in the books, rather than what the fans have shaped. In fact, she's very much like Gryffindors in the books, who are actually very rude to other houses and think they're the best. Still, at heart, she's in this house.
Alex: I'm in a huge dilemma about where to put them, but I reckon they'd fit pretty fine in Gryffindor. Not only are they daring and courageous, they're proud of who they are, but not in a too full of themselves kind of way, rather in a 'I am who I am, and if you can't accept me, fuck off' kind of way. They can get carried away rather easily though, and very arrogant, thinking they don't need anyone else, when they do in fact need some company. They are one of the kindest and at the same time most ambitious characters we've met, but they are brave beyond understanding in a very personal way, thus, Gryffindor.
Tumblr media
Percy: I think it's fair to say he'd be Hufflepuff, because loyalty is literally his fucking fatal flaw, and he is the kindest sweetheart to all those who deserve it, he goes out of his way to help those who need help, whether that be mortals, halfbloods, gods, magical creatures or even his own enemies. He's too good for this world, and even if he's grown a bit bitter, he always looks to fight justly for what is right, and never loses faith in others. That, and the fact that he turned down immortality so that the olympians were more inclusive of minor gods, and their children were treated better. He's just a lovely soul, he's like 80% Hufflepuff so that's enough for me. All that and he's stubborn as hell.
Jason: Hufflepuff. Just, undoubtedly Hufflepuff. Like he seems to be this cold and self centered hero with a superiority complex (bc of all the son of Jupiter stuff) but he's the softest guy there is. Not only is he hardworking, open minded and kind, he appreciates justice but he doesn't seek for revenge or anything, he makes sure people are treated fairly and wants everyone to be accepted. Proof of that is how he continued Percy's job of including more gods, and made sure Nico felt comfortable with who he was. He truly has a heart of gold. (He deserved better btw)
Meg: God I can't decide between Hufflepuff and Gryffindor, but I think I'll go with the former. She's so strong, my baby, she's faced so much wrong, but she's still so kind and understanding of others, especially those who deserve kindness. She puts up such a hard facade, but she's so patient and warm and inclusive. She's brave and strong (as strong as the big three kids, if not stronger), but she's also so loyal to her beliefs despite how she was forced someone else's beliefs for years, so I'll keep her in Hufflepuff. Also, she's stubborn af, and she can be lazy, so that settles it.
Will: I KNOW some people will say Will could be in other houses that are not Hufflepuff, BUT I won't have it any other way. Will is literally the warmest person ever. He is kind and sympathetic and enthusiastic and patient and inclusive. Like Helga Hufflepuff would take one look at him and lose her shit screaming "mine". He's the guy who saw the son of Hades so many people were scared of and immediately grabbed his hand and transfered him some warmth and didn't let him go ahead and get himself killed. He's also the one who everyone loves and likes, so much that Clarisse gets along with him and he can calm her down. He's the ideal Hufflepuff, you can't change my mind.
Magnus: I mean, what else can you expect from the son of the god of summer? He's literally a guy who heals others with warmth. He's also the guy who spent years on the street with the most difficult situations, and accepts every single person the way they are. He's inclusive af, and tolerant of everything. He's the guy who's closest include a deaf elf, a Muslim valkyrie, and a black dwarf, and he's dating a genderfluid person. Yes he's brave, and he's kinda smart, and he's ambitious, BUT none of those qualities overpower his Hufflepuff nature.
Tumblr media
Piper: Kinda debated whether Gryffindor or Ravenclaw fits more, but in the end I went with Ravenclaw. Even though she isn't a fighter, she's very very brave, yet her bravery isn't compared to her wits. Like others in the PJOverse, she wins her fights by outsmarting her opponents, but unlike others that's one of her strongest traits. She's witty and creative and a little on the negative side, she really struggled to work in a group rather than by herself. On another note, she's able to keep calm in crazy situations and come up with the craziest most unthinkable solutions (I'm talking borderline ridiculous) that always somehow work. She's not booksmart, but she knows so much about everything, and she's lifesmart you know?
Reyna: Why are some of these so hard? Deeply debating whether she'd be Ravenclaw or Slytherin. In the end I'd go more for Ravenclaw though. Reyna's smart as hell, she's strong and sharp, and she always sees the best way out of a situation. She's witty and observant, being able to keep her cool in battle and lead others in the best direction. She's always looking to grow, and she prefers to do things on her own, but she's a great leader. She has some Slytherin qualities, and she's not learning as learning oriented as others, but she's definitely Ravenclaw.
Sam: Let's face it, Sam has the only active neurons in all of MCGA, she's definitely Ravenclaw. I'm gonna be honest though, I've only read MCGA once, so I can't remember much of their personalities, but Sam is witty and clever, pretty much the only one who can come up with competent plans, while the others rely mostly on luck and whatever plan they can cook up in 5 seconds. She's loyal and true to who she is, and she's extremely courageous and proud of who she is, but her sharpness is what she stands out for me, which is why I put her in Ravenclaw.
Tumblr media
Annabeth: I know the obvious option is Ravenclaw, but I genuinely think she's also Slytherin. Yes she is booksmart and wise like Ravenclaw, but her personality matches Slytherins' ambitious, cunning and resourceful nature. She's smart as fuck, but she's calculative, she always finds a way to end up winning, and while she does so by outsmarting her opponents, she wouldn't need to outsmart them if she weren't so competitive. I feel like there's this 40/60 odds on Slytherin rather than Ravenclaw, but it's that small difference that counts. Plus her leadership skills are so powerful that people don't ask, they just know she's the boss.
(Also just picture the sweet and loyal Hufflepuff boy with the strong and cunning Slytherin girl, like it should be as opposite as it is with Poseidon and Athena, but they're so cute)
Leo: Idk what you can expect that's not Slytherin. This boy is the embodiment of ambition and determination. Reminder that not all Slytherins are bad btw (I'm slytherin myself), but like he's life smart and cunning, and he can analyze situations faster than anyone else. He's charismatic and talented, and there's no one to stop him from triumphing. I don't have much to say, I just know he'd be in Slytherin.
Rachel: She's kinda a difficult one, and I struggle between Gryffindor and Slytherin, and tbh I'm still not sure. But I think I'd place her in Slytherin, because even if she's brave af (especially since she was a mortal fighting in a war out of her power), her main trait is her determination. When she's set on something, she gets it done. You can't tell her she can't do something, because she will find a way to do it. She's kind, and she's only a mortal, but she still has incredible power unlike any other. I don't think I can really name it, but I think she'd be put on Slytherin with much difficulty from the Sorting Hat.
Luke: Where else could Luke possibly go? On the meaner side Slytherins have created themselves, Luke would be part of those misled by who preceded them, by those who want to take advantage of their mistreatment (bc let's face it, Slytherins are mistreated by both students and Hogwarts staff), and turn them cold and bitter. Luke is ambitious and manipulative, being manipulated himself, and it comes easily because of his natural charisma and talent. He's very freaking determined and cunning too. He'd fit right into Slytherin, but he'd be viewed as one of the rotten lot.
Thalia: I don't have much to say about this, but Thalia is the girl whose fatal flaw is their desire for power (or smth along those lines), just like most Slytherins. She's ambitious, she's smart, she's truly talented, she stands out between the rest, and she knows it, and she actually kinda likes it.
(Also I put Annabeth, Thalia and Luke in the same house because they're all kinda similar, even if their beliefs and postures are different.
Frank: Ngl I'm having more difficulty with Frank than anyone else. I'm kinda torn between Gryffindor, Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. I literally can't choose. He'd fit perfectly in any of them lmao, I just can't decide where he'd go. You decide this one yourself.
Please keep in mind, this is my personal opinion and my take on the characters, and not all of you will agree, and that's fine! You can let me know what you think (kindly please, don't come at me), and if you want to, send me an ask on a character you want me to do the same as these (as long as it's not TKC, I'M SORRY I haven't read those) go ahead, don't be shy!

opinions on riordanverse ; my edition
a lot of people have been doing this so i decided why not right. probably gna lose some followers or smth but anyways. pls respect my opinions! if u disagree, thats fine, but please be polite. unless any of my opinions strikes u as morally wrong then pls point it out to me respectfully. thanks!
- i actually liked drew. im so sorry to everyone who hates her but full offence, why. think about it this way ok, first of all drew became hc because silena died. silena was the traitor, the one who betrayed chb, yet after she died campers celebrated her as a hero? and then drew suddenly has to replace her and live up to idk that legacy she left behind,, when all of a sudden this girl named piper swoops in and takes her place. idk abt u but i wld be salty abt that too. not only that, but as an asian, the chances of drew having faced racism/bullying as a child is pretty high (she studies at brooklyn academy). which means that when she finds out shes a demigod, and arrives at chb where most of the campers are white (this is an assumption btw), she’d obviously be scared of being bullied for her skin color right?? so the first thing she wld do before the campers get to bully her is to bully them before they can do so. (sentence structure here is wack i apologize) ofc this might not even have happened, drew could have had a perfect childhood && was a b1tch for no reason, BUT EVEN THEN HER ROLE AS A BULLY WAS PRETTY VITAL BECAUSE THAT FURTHER SHOWED THE CONTRAST BETWEEN HER AND PIPER,, HIGHLIGHTING PIPER AS A HERO//GOOD CHARACTER,, AND THEREFORE MAKING READERS LIKE PIPER MORE. anyway stop hating on drew please. ALSO WHY IS THIS SO LONGA SDFJHG
- jason isnt bland, the fandom just kinda erased his backstory (thanks to @pjohoo-memes for the phrasing lol)
- reynabeth wouldnt have lasted/would have broken up several times. idk i just see them as two extremely powerful characters who have firm opinions and will definitely clash at some point. in a platonic relationship,, i can see them as really good friends but as lovers? idk i just think theyll break up
- PIPABETH
- i dont really like jercy,, i see them as better friends than lovers. also idt jason and percy were that close..?
- the dam and not my type jokes are srsly cringey and were never funny. ik that seems hypocritical since my username literally makes use of the dam joke but honestly i dont actually like the joke. its not funny to me and has never been funny
- the seven were not best friends. they definitely argued,, and honestly probably werent as close as the fandom makes them seem. like ure dumped with 6 other people, out of which u only know a few. my introverted ass would have jumped off the argo 2 quicker than leo valdez could bomb camp jupiter up. also leo was a dick to frank. so what if frank is bigger sized?? thats not a valid reason to tease him
- the fandom needs to stop hating on octavian while worshipping luke. if u hate luke and u say u hate octavian too, then okay. but if u tell me ure a luke stan but u despise octavian?? imma disagree w u. luke was worse than octavian im sorry. first of all, octavian being a dick was kinda justified. hes been after the praetor position for so long, and everyone keeps saying to “wait for jason” when suddenly this dude, whos a son of NEPTUNE (neptune wasnt liked much by romans), and the camp decides to make him praetor?? dude i would be pissed off big time. and then afterwards, he finds out that greek demigods are real and the dude they made praetor is greek. AND THEN GREEK DEMIGODS COME TO CJ AND ONE OF THEM BOMB IT UP?? octavian has been told all his life that greeks are scum and this dude called leo valdez attacks cj. sure it was an accident, but did octavian know that? no. so it was honestly justified that he was such a salty prick im just saying. also some of yall be hating on octavian for cutting a teddy bear open and thats the funniest shit ive ever heard i swear
- luke didnt go to elysium
- travis and connor stoll r way too underrated. the two have been head counselors of the hermes cabin since luke was revealed as a traitor, can u imagine the stress? luke, the person they probably looked up to as a brother, betrayed them. and they didnt even have time to process this when they were  thrown the roles of being hcs. that would have been so stressful and i would probably have broken down if i were them. the stoll brothers taking turns to wake up at ungodly hours because a new camper is crying and homesick and terrified, the stoll brothers having to comfort and take care of new campers, having to deal with the amount of people in that cramped space because not enough campers are being claimed fast enough. having to resolve issues between campers in the hermes cabin all the time. the stolls arent just comedic relief, and we need to stop treating them as such
- tratie shldve been canon idc idc
- demigods of the demeter cabin arent talked about enough and i love the fact that meg was demeters kid. like she isnt the child of one of the big three yet shes so powerful.
- we need to hype clarisse up more her character arc was phucking amazing
- rachel is overhated. sis found out greek gods exist and regularly come down to earth to fuck around and went “ok cool”. queen shit behavior methinks
- the floor 19 crew of mcga is srsly underrated. like do u even remember halfborn gunderson, mallory keen, tj, etc??? bc i feel like we only remember samirah, magnus, alex, and sometimes blitz and hearthstone
- sadie (tkc) was kinda annoying at first. i like her more now tho but i rmb not liking her for a phat while
- tkc and mcga need more love
- carter kane and jason grace arent boring. theyre just really sweet boys who are too good for this world and yes yes yes
- hazel and frank (especially frank) need to be hyped up more. i hardly ever see anything about them. also yall seem to forget that frank was literally made praetor and that even hecate admired hazel and was willing to fight beside her because of how powerful she was
- frazels age gap is kinda sketch but i still think theyre really cute
- nico definitely had trauma from going to tartarus on his own
- GROVER IS PERCYS BEST FRIEND
- annabeth isnt smarter than leo but neither is leo smarter than annabeth. ive seen a lot of discussions about who is smarter and heres my hot take on it: neither. theyre equally smart, just in different ways. leos a genius mathematically speaking. he has no issues solving math problems meant for people much, much older than him. annabeth on the otherhand, is great at strategies etc. she can make an army of 1000 more powerful than the enemy, even if theyre outnumbered. so in my opinion, both are equally as smart//u cant compare their intelligence, because their talents lie in two different areas.
- while i do agree rick riordan isnt a god and that hes bound to make mistakes,, AND that hes given us a lot of representation,, if the representation offends the people its sposed to represent, then theres a problem. im talking about piper as a poc and wearing feathers in her hair. im not a poc, so i cant speak for them on whether or not its wrong, because i dont know either. HOWEVER, i have seen multiple posts BY pocs talking about how they didnt really like rick’s representation of piper, and thats an issue. pocs have been and are still oppressed and discriminated against by many. as a white cis man, we cant really blame him for not knowing (tho he could have done a research,, asked some pocs,, idk), but by representing pocs in that manner, hes influencing impressionable kids/teens into thinking “oh pocs wear feathers in their hair all the time” etc, which isnt true. the pjo/hoo series is extremely successful, and kids who read the books will probably start forming inaccurate opinions on pocs. the amount of fan art that depicts piper with feathers in her hair dont help either. “but rick said so in the books, so its canon” yeah well rick isnt a god and he can get some things wrong at times. im not saying we should cancel him, im saying we should start educating ourselves and not spread false info like pocs wearing feathers in their hair all the time. also that snake song shit where she sang Summertime was just- yeah. bc heres the thing you can be racist, and still include minorities, but portray them in a racist way. And even then, ignorance isn't a thing to admire. Getting those facts wrong still has a major impact. It continues to perpetuate racist stereotypes.
“ With the feather thing, I looked it up myself; it takes less than five minutes to figure out that Cherokees don't braid feathers into their hair. I didn't grow up in the country where my parents are from. I have many other first/second generation American friends who have also been through that, with a bit of a disconnect from their culture. But something that most of us have in common is that when we didn't know something, and when our parents weren't that big of a help, we looked it up. We sought out resources online and through other people from our culture to be able to connect more with where we came from. Some of that took a Google search. So I find it hard to believe that Piper, a girl who Rick's trying to portray as someone who is attempting to connect with her culture and is totally against racist stereotypes, wouldn't know that eagle feathers aren't supposed to be braided into your hair casually. She may be disconnected from her culture, but she's also shown to want to connect back to it. Piper wouldn't be casually braiding feathers into her hair while also telling off people for being racist. It makes no sense.” - reddit thread (down below)
for those of yall who wanna know more please please read this, it has a lot of things i wanna add in here : https://www.reddit.com/r/camphalfblood/comments/gy3gl2/piper_mcleans_portrayal_is_innacurate/
as well as https://finding-my-culture.tumblr.com/post/189422373260/maxie-ratties-and-cattie-finding-my-culture
i will be posting screenshots of these in future posts so if ure viewing this on ig and u dont have tumblr,, dont worry
- the fact that most of the strong female characters in the series refuse to be “girly”, and ngl i dont really like that. just because ure girly doesnt mean u cant be strong.
- piper would have been a great way for him to start making the strong characters act girlier, but instead he went with the “I’m not like other girls” trope which is quite obnoxious to hear constantly, and I don’t think it’s necessarily great for younger girls to read that idea growing up.  the closest we've ever had to a strong female character who was also into "girly" things was Silena. when I was younger I admired Piper's "I'm not like other girls" thing, but then I got older and realized that the whole mentality of "not like other girls" is super obnoxious, and a little bit toxic
i have a heck load more that i cant rmb rn but yeah feel free to add more

how would you do a percy jackson adaptaion?
okay, so I know this is a controversial opinion right off the bat: I really don’t think it should be an animated series.
A large part of the appeal of the series is that it’s a fantasy series set very very firmly in reality. Literally, apart from the camps, you could go to every location hit in the books. Riordan mentions specific streets, buildings and landmarks, and that was cool when I first read them. I remember being a kid and waiting for him to set a scene in a place near where I lived! I remember trips to New York and being able to envision an epic war happening in the streets. So I think any adaption needs to be live action just to keep that same feeling alive, while I’m not knocking on animation, I just feel like taking the story out of real life would make it loose a little of the charm. Like, the scene where Manhattan is completely frozen in time? It would be haunting to see that in real life, but I feel like it would be less impactful if it didn’t…you know…look real? The series should be done in a way that makes you truly feel like you could just turn a corner and walk straight into a snake woman going about her day.
Now: another large part of the appeal of the series is how funny it is, but a lot of that…is Percy’s inner monologue. He doesn’t actually voice most of it, there was even a book where Annabeth described him as being quiet. So, I think the best way to work around this: make it Interview With A Demigod.
Imagine it’s got an interview with a vampire-esque setup- and this even works because within the riordanverse, the books canonically exist because Percy sat down with a ‘camp scribe’ and had his quests recorded. So, like, this isn’t even entirely out of left field. But just imagine, a college-aged, maybe a little older Percy, I can see it so clearly in my head, he’s wearing a sweatshirt that at first glance looks like it says NYU but a trained eye will see it actually says NRU for a camp jupiter easter egg, he’s sitting in some dinky little diner (maybe it can even be a monster donut or something with a clever greek myth related name) with a guy who’s recording the conversation on some old-ass tape recorder that keeps acting up but they can’t record on a phone because of the whole technology thing. Every now and then it’ll cut back to them to get some great Percy thoughts out there. They open with older Percy saying the ‘look, I didn’t wanna be a halfblood’ and then explaining where he was when the whole mess started. Once he get’s to “was I a troubled kid?” the screen fades from older Percy to 12 year old Percy getting in a fight with Nancy and her gang, and the voice over says the ‘Yeah, you could say that’ part as we see him get threatened by the principal to behave on the field trip. Boom, we’ve got an opening. Lowkey….I’m seeing Jordan Fisher as older Percy, but I’m not 100% married to the idea.
And before anyone tries to argue that showing an older Percy would spoil he’s not gonna die in last olympian- like, reading the books, we all knew he wasn’t going to die. It was a first person narrative and he was consistently speaking in past tense lmao like we Knew he was gonna make it. We still enjoyed the series. It won’t ruin anything.
I want part of the score of the adaptation to be instrumental versions of songs from the musical, I think that could be a sweet nod to that team.
They really need to nail camp halfblood. I know that goes without saying, but in order to keep the pacing of the story decent we can’t spend as much time falling in love with it like we got to with the book. The book is like, 24 chapters and the quest starts at chapter 12- for a movie or tv show, that’s just gonna feel like it’s dragging. So, the insanity of the camp needs to smack you in the face right away, and then it needs to endear itself to the viewers quickly after that. Don’t try to ease the viewers (or Percy) into the mythology is real thing, rip it off like a bandaid. He’s on his way to meet Chiron and Mr. D for the first time and even if he’s not comprehending what he’s seeing, there’s nature spirits and harpies all around going about their day. Hestia waves at him and then disappears into the flames. Hecate kids can be seen casting a spell on the porch of the Hermes cabin. The Stolls are seen pranking some Aphrodite kids. He sees someone surely die on the climbing wall but then you hear a faint ‘I’m okay!’. The Apollo kids put a rhyming curse on another cabin. Pure chaos all before he gets the ‘so, gods are real’ speech. And then after that…show how warm Luke is to him at the cabin and at dinner. Show the kids all goofing off at the campfire and really make it clear that they’re children. Show the strawberry fields rolling in the wind and Percy sitting on the beach. The whole couple weeks where he’s searching for powers and learning greek and latin with Annabeth can be a montage. Make it clear how hurt and scared he is when he finds out he needs to leave.
It needs to really get you feeling how Percy’s feeling, every laugh, every tear, every moment of fear or confusion needs to shine clear through. Like…think of Spider-Man Homecoming, the Washington monument scene. All things considered, it’s not the most high-stakes scene we’ve ever seen in that franchise, and when it cuts to the kids in the elevator, they’re worried but not quite freaking out, but that scene feels very high stress to watch because the movie is good at getting the viewers to feel what Peter feels. A Percy Jackson adaptation needs a touch like that, because Percy’s a very emotional kid and that’s what a lot of the scenes hinge on.
Lowkey- I’d love it if the casts of both the previous movies and the musical had cameos or bit parts (the movie cast did Nothing Wrong, it was the rest of that team). It’d be hilarious to see, like, Jake Abel as the owner of the poodle, or Logan Lerman as Older Percy and the reporter’s waiter that keeps trying to get in on the conversation, or Brandon T. Jackson as a satyr who’s still stuck grooving out in the Lotus Hotel and Casino. Kristen Stokes as a nature spirit, Chris as one of the ghosts stuck in the waiting room of DOA Records, just like any of those casts having small parts would be fun and sweet.
There should be a lot of easter eggs for the bigger riordanverse. Promotions in the background for the new Tristan McLean movie. Gabe’s got a true crime documentary about the missing Grace children playing during his poker game. Mr. D is reading a paper about Rachel Dare’s father’s newest project. At some point while they’re still in New York they pass the Kane family’s mansion or whatever it was called. Annabeth keeps a picture of little her and Magnus on her nightstand. The barest of hints about the Triumvirate. Seeing kids in camp jupiter gear in some background shots, just out of notice of our main characters but implying the camps are going through similar problems (BITCH….if we got a titan’s curse adaptation…and we had a shot of Thalia in the foreground….but in the background we saw a blond boy in purple with a golden sword….well I would simply loose my Goddamn mind).
And show us how easily the mist lets things blend in, too- like, everyone thinks ‘Monster Donuts’ is just a normal chain, it’s just on an average street block, but if Percy looks through the window he can see who’s behind the counter. Show someone swindling some guys in a park and you have to look twice to realize he’s a gegeines. Like…how people are still trying to find all the background ghosts in haunting of hill house. I would LOVE to see a bunch of background monsters and mythical beings just going about their day as much as the mortals are while the gang’s questing.
The effects need to be fun. The whole story needs to be fun, but one weird thing about the past movies are that like…in their attempt to make it gritty, none of the fantastical things happening on screen actually felt that exciting. We need bright colors and interesting choices, consistently cool action shots, a liveliness that makes you feel like you’re in the center of the action. I have absolutely no doubt Disney easily has enough funds to pull off great effects.
The characters need to be….in character lmao. Annabeth needs to be cocky and bratty with the skill set to justify it. Percy needs to be a sweetheart who pretends to be hardened because that’s what people assume he’s like. Grover needs to have dry humor and a Too Old For This Shit attitude whenever percabeth start bickering. Luke needs to be nice and friendly but in a specific way that you can look back after the betrayal and see he was trying to groom everyone. Sally needs to be loving, protective and strong. Chiron needs to feel defeated and determined at the same time. Mr. D needs to….be Stanley Tucci lmao
Also, I’d love if the adaptation could expand more on things that got brushed along in the books- Percy and Beckendorf’s friendship, Silena and Clarisse’s dynamic, make Nico’s crush on Percy a little more obvious, give Rachel some more development. One thing that haunts me about the books is Sally never found out that Gabe hit Percy. Absolutely they don’t need to make the abuse explicit, but I also personally feel like a lot of Percy’s mindsets throughout the series are somewhat a result of Gabe, and I’d like if that got, you know, acknowledged. Maybe in the scene where he figures out Gabe abuses Sally he could say ‘does he hit you too?’ or something to that effect. They could also go more into detail about Annabeth’s family, give Zoe some more depth….like the possibilities I’m screaming.
Okay this is already long and I’m getting tired but I can so clearly see a great adaptation in my mind….Disney please come through….It’s what we deserve….

Book Recommendations: Dystopias
A lot of people find dystopian fiction depressing. I actually find them uplifting, since it makes the real world seem a whole lot brighter! Well, I can’t promise that the world right now is actually any better than them, but we can dream. Here are some of the best. All blurbs written by me unless otherwise specified.
Also, this post deleted itself halfway through me writing it. Ah, the things I struggle through for you people. The reviews I painstakingly re-write. The show must go on.
The Handmaid’s Tale (and The Testaments) by Margaret Atwood - The Republic of Gilead is ruled by right-wing Christian extremists, and freedom for women is a rare commodity. Offred’s value lies in her reproductive ability, stolen from many other women by high levels of radiation. She must find a way to escape before she outlives her usefulness.
I know, I know, it’s typical, but hear me out (or scroll down for more original ones). This book is heartbreaking, it’s beautiful, it’s terrifying and most importantly it’s very applicable to modern society. I’m sure you’ve all heard people go on for ages about how it technically excels, but I want to talk about how Atwood never once falls into the trap of showing characters getting stronger by making them more masculine. Offred and the other female characters all embrace their femininity in different ways, and they are all strong while also being women, something many young adult writers seem to think is impossible. I expect nothing less from this great author. The Testaments went through the same prejudice as all sequels from reviewers, but I think it was wonderfully done and answers plenty of questions about Gilead and the world watching it.
Chaos Walking (The Knife of Never Letting Go, The Ask and the Answer and Monsters of Men) by Patrick Ness - There are a couple of strange things about Prentisstown. There are no women, and everyone can hear each other’s thoughts. Even the animals. Todd Hewitt is the youngest one in town, and he’s determined to find out the secrets of his home.
Ah, Patrick Ness, the only author on the planet who can reliably make me cry. And hoo boy, is there lots of crying to be had in this series. Emotional turmoil ahoy! No but seriously, once you get over the way the main character’s accent is written (which made me pass by this book more than once) the story told throughout the series is deeply heartfelt, frightening and above all human. Topics from war to gender to segregation to what it means to be human are all covered in a way suitable for youngsters while also managing to be compelling and intense to adults. A slightly offbeat dystopia, but one with worldbuilding that cannot be scoffed at.
The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, Mockingjay and The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes) by Suzanne Collins - Panem is divided into 12 districts, who each provide cheap labour for the illustrious Capitol. Each year 24 children are forced to fight to the death to quell uprising in the districts. That is, untill Katniss Everdeen comes along to shake things up.
Everyone knows the Hunger Games. But if you’ve only watched the films, I strongly suggest you read the books. The media industry did what the Capitol did, and threw out the real story to focus on a romance that isn’t even real within the context of the books. If you have read the books, check out The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. It’s a prequel, focusing on how President Snow got to be... like that. Despite mixed reviews I really enjoyed it, and it was very nostalgic for me, considering I was pretty much obsessed with Panem for several years.
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury - Montag is a firefighter, but not in the normal sense. His job is to burn books, protecting the people from the knowledge within. A meeting with a teenager called Clarisse has thrown his worldview into disarray, and his wife is going insane.
This book is standing in for all my old dystopias - 1984, Animal Farm, We - for a couple of reasons. Firstly, I recently realised 1984 creeped me out as a kid because of how r*pey it was and I need to re-read and re-assess whether I like it or not. Secondly, because I think it’s really quite poignant in the current information age. We have access to the internet to co-ordinate, learn and educate each other. The sum total of all human knowledge is here. If we didn’t, would we be able to rebel as we do now? Or would we simply go along with what we are told, because we have never been told otherwise? Also, Ray Bradbury is a legend and is likely to pop up in my upcoming short stories list quite a lot. Bear in mind that this is a very thinky book so don’t pick it up as a light summer read, pick it up for introspection and criticism of censorship in our society.
Vox by Christina Dalcher - Women are limited to 100 words per day, at risk of a near-fatal electric shock if they overstep. Girls are swiftly losing the ability to speak, read and write. Dr Jean McClellan is going to change that if it kills her.
One big criticism of this book is that it’s too similar to the Handmaid’s Tale. I have to agree to a certain extent, but there are some key differences that make it a worthy read on its own. The pace, for one thing, is a lot faster, with more action which might make it a great option if you haven’t got the patience for Atwood’s style. It feels a lot more like a typical young adult dystopia without losing any of the moral punch of HT. Also, it emphasises the importance of communication for rebellion a lot more than HT. I think its message needs to be said again and again, and that the stylistic and plot differences not only make it accessible for more people but also lend themselves to a more personal story. Let the reviewers whine. It’s one of my favourites.
The Broken Trilogy (Broken Sky, Darkness Follows and Black Moon) by L. A. Weatherly - Amity is a Peacefighter, charged with competing in dogfights with other regions’ representatives in lieu of actual war. But corruption has its teeth deep into the Peacefights, and there is a tanged web of espionage, rebellion and... astrology?
Yep, that’s right folks, this is a dystopia in which your star chart determines whether you live or die. Sure, it sounds goofy, but surprisingly enough it works extremely well as a premise, and who are we to talk trash about insane government officials? Amity is a deep, exciting character, and she’s joined by a really compelling cast including a secretive astrologer and Amity’s love interest. Unfortunately, the love story feels quite forced, but fortunately the rest of the story is so good you can struggle through. The first book is a slight trek to get into, but once you do, there’s a hell of a cliffhanger waiting for you. I shall say no more.
And that about wraps up my forays into dystopian fiction! As you can probably tell I’m obsessed so expect a second post when I’ve collected a few more. Might have to divide it into feminist and other :/

Pandemic Reading: Percy Jackson and the Olympians
Being in your early 20s is weird. Being in your early 20s in these times is weirder.
You're out of college and out in the world, but you're not sure you're grown up enough to be ready for it (not like we have a choice, but still). You're most probably working, but still want to be considered a 'child' in some ways.
I've been trying to understand and explore this confusing feeling for a while now, and this pandemic seems to have given me space and time to do this in the safety of my room.
I was in 10th grade when I first read Percy Jackson. Still in the phase where Harry Potter was fresh on my mind, and Greek mythology was just starting to get interesting, this series was exciting. As a 16 year old girl who took pride in her reading habit and speed, reading about this 11 year old demigod as he fought with literal Greek gods and saved the world was too fascinating to let go of. I'm sure I devoured the books then, though I have no memory of it beyond sitting with akka in front of the PC and reading along with her. I loved knowing the myths and legends and heroes of Greek Mythology and seeing them come together in one book like this. But like most unfortunate things, it faded and I never finished the second series.
Recently, I decided to go back and finish the series. So, obviously, my first step was to reread the first series so there is a continuity in my head. And I took the e-books from my sister.
Now, before the pandemic, I had been feeling a little down since I hadn't been able to give much time to reading. Then I got into reading fanfics, but on the sly (that's another story). So, 5 days ago, when I picked up Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, I had lost some confidence in my ability to read fast and continuously.
I finished book 1 in a day. And books 2 through 5 yesterday.
I obviously enjoyed the first series. I had glimpses of memory of reading some bits back in high school; some images of how I had imagined them when I first read them. I was thoroughly delighted that I still had the speed, ability, and interest to read 4 books on the same day. I also loved it because it reminded me of the awesomeness of simplicity in YA books that I had forgotten.
But it also led to some thought trains.
Reading about an 11 year old demigod when I was a 16 year old was exciting. But reading about 11 to 16 year old demigods as a 23 year old is a whole different experience. The number of times I found myself saying "They're only 12!" out loud is more than I care to remember.
When you're 16 and reading about an 11 year old goading Ares, talking back to Dionysus, walking up to Hades, and fighting with Minotaurs and Furies (all in book 1, by the way), he is cool. But when you read the same when you are 23, you think he is in way over his head and that the Gods must be crazy for depending on these twice-vulnerable half-blood kids to fight their fights and end their wars.
And don't get me started on Aphrodite and her 'interest' in Percy which led to some odd romantic love triangle. They are 13, maybe 14. And the Goddess of Love telling Percy something about a tragic romance as he is out on a quest is just too much. Let them live, for Gods' sake, and in this case, I mean literally and figuratively.
I don't come from a culture where there's much dating happening in school. A few here and there in high school, and that too pretty innocent stuff. It may be more common in other cultures. But definitely not 'make the wrong choice between 2 people and it will bring the world down' kind of romance. Seriously, what were the Gods thinking.
Do you see the 23 year old-ness shining right through these words?
That said, I genuinely enjoyed the series the second time round as well, probably for different reasons as a 23 year old though.
Yes, the myths and the heroes are still cool to read. But the enormity of the struggle that Luke, Thalia, Percy, Grover, Annabeth, Tyson, Clarisse, and Rachel dealt with, the choices they had to make, the decisions they had to take and the maturity and understanding with which they faced them is clearer to a 23 year old than to a 16 year old.
I could talk about the writing and how it being written in first person POV of Percy Jackson as an 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 year old affected how I read and related to it as a 16 year old and as a 23 year old, but I don't think more than this needs to be said about it.
At the end of the day, Percy Jackson, like many good YA fantasies, is a series that shows young adults that they are never too young and their actions are important in how they and the world chooses to go forward. And it also shows new adults the layers and intricacies of fictional and real worlds alike and how one needs to be careful in navigating through their chosen paths.

Day Five - Steve Rogers x Reader
Summary: Every year, only one kid gets a present
Word Count: 2076
Warnings: A sad topic, (orphanage)
A/N: I just came back home today. I logged in to start working on Day 6 and realize this one never posted :(. I have no idea what happened but here it is Day 5. Day 6 will be up soon as well as Day 7
Tumblr media
You were currently seated on the couch at the living room from the Avengers Compound, Lily, the six-year-old girl from the orphanage you worked at sitting next to you and on her other side, Steve Rogers. Every year one kid from the Orphanage you worked at was gifted with a day with the avengers when the time from Christmas came around. This year was Lily’s turn and you were the one chosen to go with her and keep an eye on her. This was almost the end of the evening, the movie “Barbie and the Nutcracker” playing on the big flat screen. Other members of the Avengers were there and being honest it was a sight, watching the earth mighty heroes snuggled up between fluffy blankets and Christmas pillows watching a Barbie movie. Not to mention you had to laugh under your breath when Lily had shushed Bucky and Sam because they were fighting over popcorn when the fairies danced for Clara. “Mister Sam, you have to share.” she had said and focus back on the screen.
Throughout the day you and Lily met almost each and every one of the Avengers, first, it was Steve, as he was the one designated to be your guide for the day. Lily had been at awe, meeting one of her favorite avengers in person, she had stuck by his side all day only stirring away a few minutes to share more time with the other avengers. You had then meet Natasha Romanoff and Wanda Maximof, who, after sharing with you guys some of the pancakes they were having for breakfast proceded to show Lily some “fighting movements” Natasha even going as far as doing a small ballet routine when Lily mentioned she had been taking a few classes in the Orphanage. All this happened in an open area in the gym so the next avengers Lily got to meet were Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes, they had praised the little girl as she finished the little routine Natasha had made up and Lily bowed to show her thanks as Natasha had taught her, a proud look on the experienced assassin. They proceed to take Lily the terrace, where there was a green area with grass and they taught Lily how to throw and catch a football ball, they even improvised a small match, you playing on Lily’s and Bucky’s team and Steve with Sam. I was all playful but you found yourself in the arms of a certain Blond supersoldier as you passed the ball to Lily and she made another Touchdown while Bucky stopped Sam from stopping Lily.
Soon lunchtime had come and Clint Barton arrived along with Natasha, Wanda, Toy and Bruce, bags of takeout with sandwiches and sodas. You all ate lunch on the terrace, Steve asking you questions about the orphanage and yourself when Lily was speaking to the rest of the Avengers. When you all finished your sandwiches and Lily has ended her juice Tony declared it was time she hung out with the cool guys away from the neanderthals to which Sam and Bucky let out a huff and a Natasha and Wanda rolled their eyes. Lily promised to see everyone at the movie later in the day as Steve had mentioned before. Then Lily was dragging Steve in one hand and you with the other to where Tony and Bruce were walking. Once at Tony’s lab, you watched like a hawk Lily just in case anything went bad and you had to protect her. Yes, you were at a room with three of the most powerful people in the world but it was still a lab, and although you saw Tony had hidden all the dangerous stuff, Lily was still your responsibility and you would blame yourself if anything happened to her. However, Tony and Bruce only showed her a few experiments and explained how everything worked. Lily even asked tony what would happen if she mixed two different liquids and he just said to go for it, then foam started to flow from the tube the two liquids hade been mixed. and you saw her as her little eyes sparkled. Lily kept asking different questions to both scientists and they answered each and every one of them. You and Steve watching from the side. after almost an hour and a half from different experiments, Lily gave back the now colorful lab coat Tony had lent her to use and thank both of them, “Thank you Mister Banner and Mister Stark, this was fun!” Tony and Bruce high five her and then you were moving with Steve to see the rest of the compound before dinner was ready and then movie time!
The next stop was the library, it was a big room, the walls filled with bookshelves as lo with a section completely dedicated to books and then a small area for reading. As the room was empty you let Lily dragged you and Steve around the place, “Look Y/N this library is bigger than the one at the orphanage!” she exclaimed and you smiled softly at her. “Why don’t you look at some books?” Steve said and Lily went to look through the shelves and asked Steve if he could reach her a book from the top shelve, it was a copy of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens.
Steve, you and Lily took a seat on the couches on the reading area. Lily was reading with yours and Steve’s help. You guys spend another twenty minutes before Friday let you know that dinner was ready. Lily didn’t want to leave because you guys haven’t finished reading. “Y/N, can I take it?” You sighed and shook your head, “I’m sorry Lily, it’s not your book, maybe we can see if there is a copy back at the orphanage.” She looked down and set the book on the little table. Steve pull you aside as Lily was heading for the door “I don’t think Tony would mind if she takes it Y/N,” “I appreciate it Steve, but we can’t accept. I’m sure we have a copy somewhere, we’ll just have to look.” Lily steps back inside at the entrance, “Are you guys coming?” You nodded and made your way to follow her Steve right behind you.
You guys ate a delicious dinner, courtesy of Tony. Lily was happily telling her adventures of the day and how she was going to tell her friends back at the orphanage, and how Vicky and Emily would be so jealous she had got to braid Scarlet Witch and Black Widow’s hair. You helped Steve clean up the table and dishes as everyone else was with Lily preparing everything for the movie. “How long have you been working at the orphanage?” Steve asked and you turned to look at him. “I’ve been working there for almost five years, I was a kindergarten teacher,” you answered back with a small smile on your face, as hard as it was you loved your work, you hoped that while doing it right, you were helping kids that needed it, making a change. “Why did you choose to change from kindergarten?” He asked as he dried the last dish and you closed the faucet, drying your hands. “When I was working at the kindergarten I was already a volunteer at the orphanage, I organized workshops for kids at different ages, when the English teacher told me she was going to retire. I liked doing the workshops and I thought I could make a bigger change at the orphanage so by the end of the school year I gave my notice and sent my curriculum at the orphanage director, and here I am. I guess I always wanted to be a teacher to make a change and I think that is what I’m doing, exactly where I am.” You finish your explanation and Lily entered followed by Wanda, both of them had beautiful side braids and you kneel as Lily walked closer to you, “Wow Lily, you look so pretty! I really like your new braid!” Lily giggled “Miss Wanda taught me how to do it! Can I braid your hair Y/N?” “Of course Lily, how about you braid my hair while the movie starts?” Lily braided your hair with Wanda supervising so it wouldn’t end up all tangled.
Half an hour later here you were watching “Barbie and the Nutcracker” Lily fighting sleep as she leaned on Steve’s side. Lily eventually fall asleep, and you decided it was time to get head back. As you tried to pick her up Steve stopped you claiming he could carry her to your car. You said your goodbyes and thanked them for the day, Lily surely had the time of her short life and she’ll be talking for weeks if not months about it. Natasha said she’ll be stopping by to check up on Lily’s progress at ballet you told her the doors were always opened.
You finally reached your car and help Steve set Lily at her seat in the back, buckling her up and you turned to Steve. “Steve, thank you very much, Lily had a great time, to be honest, I did too.” Steve smiled at you, “I had a great time too, Y/N, Lily is a great child I hope I can see you guys again.” He said and rubbed his neck. You smiled and felt your cheeks heat up. “Just like I said Captain, the door’s always open,” you glanced quickly at the time and decided it was time to leave, “I gotta go, I still got to get her on her bed. See you Steve, and again, thank you for today.” With that, you got into your car and started your ride back.
The next day you were at the library with Lily, Vicky and Emily looking for a copy of “Christmas Carol” but so far you guys hadn’t found it yet, Lily was telling her two best friends all about her day with the Avengers. She was in the middle of explaining how Miss Natasha had taught her a new movement and that she couldn’t wait to show them at their class on Monday when Clarisse a volunteer at the orphanage came in looking for you, someone right behind her. “Hey Y/N, someone is looking for you.” You glanced up at the mention of your name and you heard a loud squeal before your eyes fall on a certain supersoldier. Apparently Lily had noticed him before and she was in front of him, excited that was able to meet her two best friends. You set the books you had in your hands and approached them. “Lily, remember we are in the library you can’t make this much noise,” you told her in a soft but stern voice and she quickly apologized as she lowers her voice tone. “Hey Steve, what are you doing here?” He smiled sheepishly as he rubbed the back of his neck and you could almost see a pink dusting his cheeks. “I went on a run this morning with Sam and our way back I found this, on sale,” he took out a book from the paper bag he had in his hands and gave it to you, it was a copy of “Christmas Carol”, it was not a new book, it has been read several times, “I know you said you it wasn’t necessary but I wanted to give Lily a Christmas gift.” You smiled and gave the book back at him, “I actually told the director about getting her the book as we didn’t have one on our records, she said if we couldn’t find it on here we could give her a copy for Christmas,” you explained to him and he made a confused face, “So how about we make a deal, if you help us look around and we don’t find it you can give Lily her Christmas gift.” His smile widened and he laughed. “ You got a deal, doll.”
That day you spent it surrounded by books, three little girls and a supersoldier. Steve was happy you had let him help and he was hoping you wouldn’t mind he spent more time with you and Lily. From that day on he made several visits to the orphanage and the kids were more than happy to have Captain America around.

“Just because you don’t see the problem doesn’t mean something isn’t wrong.” Huey Dewey Louie webby
Huey woke up with a headache and his body aching from all over. He rubbed his forehead as he sat up to see if he could remember anything that happened the previous night, but he came up with no answers. He looked around his room and shuddered as he felt a chill go down his spine.
It had been two weeks since that terrible fever dream of Webby. It still lingered and haunted him, but he knew he really couldn't do anything about it. This was his life now.
She was his life now.
"Clari, have you seen my phone?" Huey asked upon not seeing it on his dresser as usual.
"It kept blowing up last night so I put it away so you could stay focused," she replied from the shower.
Right.
"Can I have it back?" He sheeped.
"After I look through who's been texting you," she said.
"But that won't be for awhile. You're going out today, right?" Huey got up and stretched.
"Yes, but if you love me, you'll manage," she said in her 'I'm just teasing' tone. Huey sighed and went out to the kitchen where he started to make himself some breakfast. Clarisse emerged from the shower ten minutes later with her hair blow dried and all ready to go out.
"Leaving already?" Huey asked.
"Thanks for breakfast," she stole a piece of his toast and kissed him on the cheek.
"That uh-" Huey tried to correct.
"Ah, ah, ah. I'm too busy to hear it. See you at Gander's at six," she kissed him again and ran out. Huey rubbed his face and restarted his breakfast. He never remembered feeling this tired ever before in his life. Guess that was adulthood. And drinking probably. He still couldn't place why on earth his joints would be so stiff today though. He thought he had a good night with Clarisse last night. Maybe he got into a fight? Seemed unlikely, but Clarisse has said it happened before.
Still. Something was off.
As he tried to recall any bit of detail from the night he heard a knock at the door, which was really, really unusual. He almost never got visitors nowadays. They were banging o. the door so loudly too. It made his headache even worse. He shushed the door as he walked over and opened it.
"Hello..?" He mumbled, rubbing his face.
"Huey..." it was Webby. Almost exactly like how she was a week ago. Huey rolled his eyes.
"Great. You again," he crossed his arms.
"Huey, I- what? I-i haven't been here," she gripped her bag.
"So you're real?" He looked her up and down.
"I could ask the same of you," Webby let herself in.
"Hey, I didn't say-" Huey tried to stop her.
"You didn't need to," Webby brushed him aside before looking around the room and gasping.
"This is so much worse than Dewey could've ever described it," she whispered to herself.
"Webby, what're you doing here?" Huey crossed his arms. She looked him up and down and she looked as though she were on the verge of tears.
"Huey where the hell have you been? What have you been doing?" She asked with earnest.
"I've been fine, I'll have you know," he suddenly got defensive. He didn't know why though. He knew this wasn't... well... normal.
"Huey... take a look at yourself here. You look absolutely terrible. You have a giant bruise on your forehead, you look like you haven't slept in days, your shirt has the weirdest stains on it, and you and your apartment reek of booze. What happened?" She grabbed his hand but he jerked away. He didn't answer. He hadn't noticed the bruise. Maybe he did get into a fight.
But with who...
"Huey... talk to me... to us... please," Webby pleaded.
"Why do you care all of the sudden?" Huey snapped.
"Huey, you missed Christmas a-and New Years, and Spring Break. You even missed your birthday. What the hell has been going on here?!" Webby snapped right back. Huey stopped. That definitely, one hundred percent, was not like him at all.
He remembered the holiday season. Lots of eggnog. Clarisse got him strange presents. He just got her earrings. New years was a hot mess. He forgot the whole say for awhile.
His birthday though.
He never would've forgotten his birthday. He hadn't seen his brothers in a year he shouldn't have-
He hadn't seen his brothers in a year.
He hadn't seen his brothers in a year.
"Huey? Y-you okay?" Webby asked much more quietly than before. He felt light headed. Like he was going to pass out. He stumbled back, fumbling past bottles on the ground. He caught himself on a countertop in the kitchen.
He hadn't seen his brothers in a year.
"Huey? Are you okay?" Webby asked, her hand hovering over his shoulder but she didn't dare to touch him.
"I'm fine. Nothing's wrong. I'm fine," there was the defensiveness again. It was like he lost control of his speech and he was now nothing more than a ragdoll controlled by someone else.
“Huey..." her tone was so soft and comforting, but he didn't dare to nuzzle into it and listen. He shook his head.
"Me and Clarisse have been having a perfectly good time. She's been showing me around and we've been having a great time. There's nothing wrong with staying home with her for the holidays," Huey defended his actions.
"But it isn't like you," Webby exasperated.
"Well this is me now! Whether you approve of it, or not!" He shouted. Webby stepped back, cowering. Her face looked hurt, like a wounded animal. She shook herself out if it though.
"Just because you don’t see the problem doesn’t mean something isn’t wrong," she straightened herself out.
"I-i know who you really are Huey, and this sure isn't it. You need to tell me what's going on. You texted us, all of us last night, about how you wanted me to come over and talk when we all were asking why you didn't come home for your guy's birthday. Please... i deserve to know what's going on," she spoke so gentile and quietly, so... opposite of what he had been hearing for forever... it was like honey for the soul. She touched his arm lightly but he jerked away again, involuntarily throwing himself into the wall. He fell down and started to cry.
"Huey! I-I'm so sorry!" She went to him again.
Sorry.
Sorry.
Oh, he missed that word.
He missed that word like he missed lazy days in a summer afternoon.
Soon he couldn't keep it in anymore and he bawled. His whole body trembled as his whole body gave in to the sobs. He felt Webby hold him gently and soothingly. She didn't grasp him tightly or snap at him. She hugged him and rubbed his back and told him it was okay.
It was okay.
Oh god, how he missed that feeling.
That feeling of just... calm and hope and peace and just... everything being alright and not having to fear upsetting anyone and just... being... okay.
Eventually his tears ceased and he was able to be taken to his couch so he could talk again.
"Do you want to tell me what's been going on? It's okay if you don't, I'll still be here. Dewey isn't far if you'd prefer to talk to him," she offered.
"No... if i don't tell you now, i don't know of i ever will," Huey took in a deep breath. Webby nodded and waited for him to be ready.
"Her... her name is Clarisse. Met her shortly after the Turaco situation. I had just broke up with Caity so i-i was feeling pretty alone s-so i agreed to go out. God, that feels like forever ago..." he chuckled as he wiped away tears streaming down his face. Webby offered a tissue but he shook his head.
"She introduced me to... so many different things and I knew so little about her, she fascinated me. I-I felt like I needed to stay- to know her better. A-and soon enough she was dragging me into all these things i didnt think i-i was ready for- a-and now I'm here and m-my whole body aches a-and i can't remember anything that happened at all l-last night a-and i just don't know what t-to do because I'm her everything now a-and sh-she says she-she'd die without me- a-and... a-and," Huey choked on his sobbings, shaking his head uncontrollably.
"Huey... I... am so, so sorry that ever happened to you. Nobody should have to deal with what you're going through," Webby wiped away her own tears.
"No," he shook his head, "it's my own fault. I said yes, she isn't to blame."
"Huey, listen to me and you listen good," she tilted his chin lightly.
"Nobody has the right to force into things you aren't okay with and no one should ever threaten you or yourself if you want to break up, okay?" She said. He couldn't speak again, so he slowly nodded instead.
"Can I hug you?" She asked. He nodded. She hugged him in a way that was so familiar, it brought him back home. He embraced it tightly, not wanting to let go at all.
"Huey, we need to get you out of here as soon as possible, you understand?" Webby said.
"I-i can't just leave her-"
"Huey, for your own good, you need to," Webby looked him in the eyes and he knew it was true. He was just... scared. She always had so many friends. And they were everywhere. He didn't know how she did it. Heck... she'd probably notice Webby was here and accuse him of cheating again.
"She'll know you've been here," he added.
"She can't hurt you anymore if you come home with me. It'll be okay. I'm a trained spy. She can't hurt you if you just come with me," Webby smiled reassuringly. Huey was still hesitant to believe it.
"I-i can't... I'm sorry... i can't," he closed his eyes and turned away.
"Huey, please. It's killing me to see you this way," she begged.
"I can't undo what she's done. Like you said I-I'm not myself. I'm a sloppy, good for nothing drunk," the words were heavy on his tongue.
"Huey... i know you. You're a hard, determined worker who never gives up on any one or anything and life by the book. You are incredibly loyal and loving, and you're always looking out for your little brothers, even when they don't ask you to. You are a huge dork who loves to read and write and explore and learn. You love your family and your family loves you. Please Huey... come home," Webby begged and pleaded a final time. Huey sniffled.
Could he really do this? It wasn't something he truly pondered before. It never felt possible. He felt like she would kill him if she found out. Well... she would find out no matter what he did. Was running away really the best option?
Huey turned and looked at Webby. She was looking at him in a way he hadn't ever seen Clarisse look at him.
It was a look of love. Familial, sure, but love. She cared about him and his wellbeing.
Clarisse...
Clarisse... not as much.
"Okay..." Huey spoke.
"O-okay?" Webby didn't seem to believe it.
"Y-yeah," he sniffled and laughed a bit. He didn't know why he did, but he did. Worry melted away from Webby's body and she hugged him once more.
"I'm so glad to hear that. Trust me when I say everyone at home missed you so so so much! We were all worried sick," she let go, "you need to get packing. We have to leave before she comes back."
"Right... yeah..." he got up from the couch. Once webby was standing he hugged her again.
"Thank you so, so, so much Webby. I promise I won't let you down," he said.
"You can never let us down. We all love you very, very much Huey. Don't forget that."
"I won't."

Ch5&6 lightning theif
I read two chapters today because I was busy studying for my midterm last night. Stats 151 can suck an egg. I would like to hopefully never take that class again.
Percy is in shock. He’s in a cabin eating weird pudding and iced tea that is supposed to taste like something you really like I think. Idk. Later in the chapter I found out it’s called ambrosia and necter. Percy recovers and he is met with Grover trying to wear shoes, but he has hooves and he gives him the Minotaur horn that Percy broke as a souvenir. Grover has a orange shirt that’s says camp half blood. They go to another building and they see mr Brunner and a small baby man with a tiger shirt. They are playing cards. Annabeth is also there, but mr Brunner sends her to make preparations in cabin 11 for Percy. Baby man turns out to be Dionysus the god of wine and he has been grounded by his dad Zeus so now he’s in the camp. Mr D takes Grover and gives him a scolding or something and he is taken away. Mr Brunner is revealed to be Chiron a centaur and he gives Percy a tour. Cabins are assigned by who your god parent is. Some cabins are empty and some have kids in it. The ugly red cabin is filled with rowdy kids. I knew that was an Ares cabin. Percy was sent to the Hermes cabin which was full of kids. Chiron leaves and Annabeth is there to take over the tour. They asked if he was regular or undetermined which I guess means if he belongs there or just passing by. Annabeth tells the kids he is undetermined and they groan. Percy’s spot is some random space on the floor. He doesn’t trust the Hermes kids because their god is the god of travellers and theives. Annabeth peels Percy out of the cabin and scolds him because he said something weird and an Ares kid with 2 others approach them. The main leader was named Clarisse and she just grabbed Percy by the neck and pulled him into a smelly bathroom. She tried to shove his head into a toilet, but the water came up and attacked her and she was hosed down along with her little gang. Annabeth got soaking too, but not washed away like them. Percy was the only dry one. The area gang runs away and Clarisse swears that she’s gonna get him during capture the flag. Annabeth is impressed and wants Percy in her team
I know I said that if I had to pick a God to be my parent it would be Hades, but Clarisse.. um. I remember talking about Nancy and how if I ever met a kid like her I’d grab her by skin of her neck and grand slam her. I thought it was funny that Clarisse also aimed for the neck and pretty much just dragged him by it to the bathroom. I would like to point out that I’m mostly a pasifist and violence shouldn’t always be an answer so some difference there. I’m a bit of a softie so I wouldn’t say that Ares is my godly parent.
Now hold the phone. Hermes is the god of theives and they know this. This is like the biggest foreshadowing. I mean I also saw the movie. By the way the movie starts to stray really early in the book. They are 12 not 16ish, Chiron is supposed to have a white stallion half, Percy upon arriving to camp isn’t placed in a posidon cabin immediately, no one tells him who his parent is, the ares kids exist and are never mentioned in the movie. Also at the end of chapter 6 when Percy hits Clarisse with water gun she is the one that wants to beat up Percy. In the movie Annabeth and Percy have a 1v1 battle, but I think I’m This book it’s gonna be between him and Clarisse. Annabeth even said that she wanted him on her team. I can see why people got frustrated about the movie. In anime it usually follows the manga and sometimes there are differences with the ending like in FMA and parts in Soul eater, but it still follows cannon on the most part. The movie is straying pretty far from the book, not too far tho. It’s like parallel lines. It’s 2 stories with the same direction, but they’re seperated. Similar but not in the same plane kind of thing. Weird
When I was trying to read the 2 chapters I didn’t think I’d be able to do it. Sounds weird right? I thought I’d get bored and just stop after ch5, but the end was interesting and I did skip the day before so I went all the way to chapter 6. The way that ended really made me want to do ch7 too, but I needed to pull back. Save it for later kind of thing. Percy has no field experience unlike the rest of the kids and they’re gonna toss him into a scary cature the flag game. Wild. I would like to see how this goes. In the movie they made him win after fighting Annabeth. I think it would be interesting if in the next chapter when he fights Clarisse that he would lose miserably. He knows he’s got this power that helps him in tight situations, but he doesn’t know how to control it or how it works yet. Something something character development.
I also read the part where Percy saw Annabeth blush at Luke. Okay girl he’s like 19. You’re 12. A sixth grader and some guy going into college. Someone is gonna catch a case. He’s too old for you right now girl. Annabeth is an interesting character she was super curious and had high expectations when Percy came to the camp. She helped rehabilitate him when he was in shock and would stay with him while he slept. She knew about his mom and the fury cause he would sleep talk and how would she hear that? She’s be there when he was sleeping. Her god parent is Athena goddess of knowledge right? So she wants to seek more knowledge or she’s curious by nature? Idk. It’s just weird cause it seemed like she was being nice to him, but when he woke up for real she pointed out how he drools in his sleep. That’s not the friendliest thing to say to someone. She does somewhat have interest/care in him cause she questions why he’s saying these things when the Hermes kids laughed at him. What I’m trying to get at is if she likes him or not. Not in the romantic sense but in the as a person sense. It almost feels like she is just testing him out and sorta seeing how he would react to stuff. I just thought her first initial greeting to him was weird and I thought it was a bit out of character cause she had been nice to him before. I think it will be nice to see who she is as a character while reading the book.
Also poor Grover. He’s 20ish years old and a late bloomer. I feel bad for him cause apparently he was guarding another kid 5 years ago that died. That is rough. He blames himself for Sally’s death too. He just wants to be good at his job and now it seems like he’s being fired. I would like for that not to happen. He’s such a cool guy

Interview with the Author:
What initially got you interested in writing?
As soon as I learned to read, I couldn’t stop my imagination from wandering and creating its own stories. At aged eight, I began to write them down, sticking to Fantasy as I preferred to give life to the worlds and characters that my mind created. I never stopped loving books or the Fantasy genre. How did you decide to make the move into being a published author?
I knew that I wanted to take this passion I had for writing and turn it into something that I could share with others. I had a concept for a book that I believed was exciting and so I did my research and began crafting my novel, while learning about the publishing industry. What do you want readers to take away from reading your works?
I would love it if my work could inspire someone to make a positive change in their life, no matter how great or small. If readers are able to identify with the problems of the main characters, even if indirectly, then perhaps they can find solutions through the way the characters resolve their own conflicts. What do you find most rewarding about writing?
I think the moment that someone connects with you and tells you how much they enjoyed your work is the most rewarding experience because if not for readers, then books wouldn’t serve their primary function. It is readers that enable books to become a success and so each is like a precious jewel. I appreciate every reader that I will ever have because they will be with me on this life long journey. What do you find most challenging about writing?
Being on the Autistic Spectrum, I personally find the social aspects of writing most difficult. Over the years, I have become accustomed to shadowing people, watching their reactions to the smallest of things, subconsciously listening to the way they speak, in order to improve my understanding of this area. What advice would you give to people who want to enter the field?
1) Never give up. If you have a passion for something, whether it’s a passion for knitting costumes for dogs, a passion for baking or sports, keep trying until you succeed. If something makes you happy, then it is always worth fighting for.
2) Research is your friend, no matter how hard you sometimes fight. Get to know others in the publishing industry, whether they are writers, editors, or readers. Get to know what they enjoy and compare answers, learn from one-another. Ask if there are groups you can join to give and receive support from those like yourself.
3) Create a blog and post your thoughts in a regular stream of online content. Posting regularly will help people to find your site and to learn more about you as an individual. What ways can readers connect with you?

Excerpt:
‘Darius, can you feel that?’
A tingling sensation seeped into her bones. It pulsed through her, prickling the hairs on the back of her neck.
‘Darius, something feels wrong.’
Violetta turned and was surprised to find Darius facing away. His tall frame appeared to have frozen beside her much loved tree, his face turned up toward the sky.
‘Brother? What’s wrong? Tell me.’
Violetta followed her brother’s gaze.
Darkness stole over her. Violetta could see the storm a mile off and it showed no signs of letting up. She flinched as she felt something hit her face. Water? Darius began to stir, but Violetta’s eyes remained fixed on the sky. She had heard of rain. It was said that the Air Realm was frequently visited by such cool showers, but never had she heard of a storm in the Flame Realm. At least, not since the Almighty Storm of the Ancients.
Violetta felt her courage flee her. She let out a high-pitched squeal; a reaction to the hands that had forced themselves around her arms.
‘Shh, it’s just me.’ Darius stroked the golden waves of her hair. ‘We must get inside. Understand?’
Violetta gazed into her brother’s dark eyes. She nodded.
‘Yes.’
‘Good, we haven’t got long before the storm hits.’
Violetta dove toward Jork’s ball. She trapped it between her wrinkled skirts, gathering it up in her slender arms. The rain gathered speed.
‘Darius, I’ve got it!’ she squealed. Silence greeted her. ‘Darius? Where are you?’
Violetta could hear raised voices in the distance. They were muffled, likely from inside the secret passage they had used to get down here.
‘Darius?’ She spotted a limp shape stretched across the lap of her tree. ‘DARIUS!’
Something struck Violetta hard in the shoulder, lifting her clean off the ground. Her mouth formed a silent scream as she flew through the air, clinging tight to Jork’s ball. To Violetta’s surprise, she landed on her feet.
Violetta’s vision swam, her shoulder screaming in agony at a chunk of ice that had pierced the flesh. She glanced about, searching for Darius when something else zipped past her ear. Violetta tried to put thoughts of the pain aside. She gazed above her, where the sky had become a blinding white.
Violetta’s fingernails dug into her ball and the agony she felt appeared to diminish. Her eyes snapped down to her shoulder, which only moments ago had been spiking with pain.
‘That’s not possible,’ she gasped.
Violetta’s skin was pale and smooth, not a cut or scratch anywhere in sight. Her eyes wandered down to Jork’s ball, before flocking back to the pale skies above. This had to be a dream. The sky here wasn’t white. It was a bright and beauteous blue, always.
Remembering how Darius had been struck, Violetta returned her gaze to her tree.
‘Darius?’
Her legs carried her over to him, aching with the sudden chill. Violetta was unsure of what she was going to find. She drew close and saw the tree’s tangled roots embracing Darius. His mop of dark hair was slick with the rain, his eyes only just glazing over.
‘No.’
Violetta knelt down and gasped at the sight of her brother’s chest. A large needle of ice had speared his flesh, spilling ruby liquid around its edges. A banshee’s wail exploded from her.
All sound escaped Violetta’s world. The edges of her vision darkened, leaving her only with eyes for her brother.
‘Good Lord, Prince Darius!’
Clarisse’s harsh voice cut through the silence. The elderly nursemaid sprinted past, her cold stare fixed on the limp form of their Realm’s heir. She bent down to examine the prince’s wounds, shooting an angry scowl Violetta’s way.
‘Just what did you think you were doing?’ she snarled.
The veins in her forehead began to rise, as though attempting to escape from their fleshy prison.
Violetta’s face was devoid of emotion. She could do little more than stare when a startled scream sounded nearby.
‘My boy!’
‘Mother?’ Violetta got back to her feet. ‘Mother, ice is coming down from the sky. We must go. Darius said-‘
Violetta locked eyes with her parent. Tears ran afresh down Queen Isobel’s face as she raced through the rain to reach her child. Her golden curls, which were usually pinned atop her head, now hung loose and trailed limply down her back.
No-one noticed the shards of ice soaring past. Violetta wanted to run. She wanted to warn her mother before it was too late, but her body felt like it had frozen in place. She strained against her fear with all her might.
‘Mother, we must go! Now!’
The queen darted across to the great oak tree. She scooped up the body of her only son, wailing against his dark mop of hair.
‘Darius!’
The despair in her voice matched the feelings that stirred within Violetta.
Queen Isobel refused to part from her son. He lay there, still as stone, his flesh growing colder by the moment. Violetta would remember this day for the rest of her life. She clung tight to Jork’s gift and prepared to race, to grasp hold of her mother, when another shard shot out of the darkness. A struggling scream filled the air. It was a scream that would haunt her forever.

TON spoilers maybe
also, I really love the open storylines, like will and nico's possible but I hope they don't go there journey to save bob from tartarus, as if I wouldn't watch a whole solangelo series
then we have the hunter's story, with the whole fox of whatever plot, rick wouldn't have mentioned it if it weren't important right? I'm always a sucker for hunters' content, and platonic theyna is there, so give it to me
I'd read a short story of piper being ✨ sapphic ✨ a hundred times, I really want that
the trip the og trio had from nyc to cj, it must have been interesting and wonderful and I miss my boy percy please give me som og trio story
percabeth in college is bound to be amazing, albeit I wouldn't read a whole book, maybe just a short story
also I'm sorryy I want my boy percy to find peace and be able to take time for himself, but I miss seeing him fight (in new books I mean), there's a reason he's said to be the strongest demigod, please let me keep seeing him, give me at least a short story I'm begging you rick
I could read a story on CJ too, like I wouldn't be extremely eager, but I'd read it, maybe them rebuilding, keeping jason's dream alive, frazel kicking it at being praetors
leo's frail relationship with calypso as they both explore their lives is interesting, but I was never the biggest fan of leo to begin with, so I wouldn't really bother with it, tho I know many of you would love to read a short story or whole book with their adventures
meg's reconstruction of her little safe haven for nature, with her adopted siblings and lu looking after them, it would be cute as hell, and it would provide the opportunity to talk about trauma and dealing with abusive parenting even more than it was already discussed in TOA with meg
and something I was hoping would happen on TON but I still want to see happen is Dionysus being relieved from his punishment, idc if it's a short story 70 years in the future and half of who we know is dead, I grew to like him (more than Bacchus too) in a weird way, and I'd love to see him gain his position as olympian and all, reunite with Ariadne, and reminisce about being CHB leader
also, what of the other campers at both camps we liked, or didn't, who served as secondary characters and weren't even mentioned in TON. Clarisse, the Stolls, Drew, Miranda, Katie, Cecile, Harley, Butch, Lou Ellen, Chris, the Hypnos dude whose name I can't remember, the Brazilian guy, the Italian girl... I'd like to know what happened to them, even if I don't remember their names lol
of course, rick can come up with pretty much anything he wants, and take the stories in any way he desires, and odds are I'd read it, but these are some open storylines that would be easy to explore and write on, and I'm sure hopeful we get to see any of them
