Was Bill aware that the Cluster was incubating deep on Earth?

Actually, besides the Crystal Gems (and I suppose The Protectors) did any other villain know of the existence of the Cluster?

Bill-No. Was too tunnel visioned on his goals to notice it.

Andreas and Belos-too focused on their goals. Also did not know what gems were. Andreas was defeated before the protectors recruited Anne, Sasha, and Marcy. Belos was defeated before Cloud Tower got the Hexsquad as exchange students. (Both in season 2)

Papillon and Mayura-No. they were more invested in miraculous lore to notice anything wrong.

Diamonds-Yes. They ordered its creation in the first place.

Aquamarine and Jasper-Yes.

Toffee-Has some knowledge about it, but never gave it a lot of thought.

Rubies-No. they’re kind of stupid.

Meteora, Gemini, Rasticore-No. they know gems as a whole, but they couldn’t care less about gems.

Sideways-Yes. Had it as a backup plan to use it as one of his heralds.

Ancestral witches, Darkar, and Valtor-Too powerful to notice such an insignificant spec buried under earth.

Semi-unrelated Fun fact: the protectors and the crystal gems are ally’s and love working together on missions and such. (The OG trio loves how Steven got to have so many human friends and they help him balance his sides.)

OK ok so if Iris got poofed and the others are hiding I have two questions. 1. How is Nora doing there? (Which, kind of sub-question, IS Nora there?) and 2. Does Iris get out?

no art this time- but yes, nora and connie are there! homeworld has a breatheable atmosphere thanks to various flora kept as decoration. (side note: some are even edible! huzzah!) nora is naturally very curious about homeworld, but she's also worried about connie. she and connie are spending most of their time in an abandoned kindergarten away from prying eyes. as for iris, she doesn't- not of her own accord. eventually, garnet yeets blue aura quartz in through the tower window, where iris fills her in on why she's here, looking different yet again, and what that means for the cgs and earth.

Wouldn’t it kinda make sense for White Diamond to give up her form to make Steven in this AU if only because she thought she was helping her planet? This is just a what if scenario… but, what if, when a gem is totally broken beyond repair — like the gem army — their “resources”, their “light” is returned back to the soil? Now, that’s just a theory, because what if that could also explain the strawberry field? A gem’s light can be used to restore “drained” planets because that’s basically what they are. Sentient ecosystems…

The gardens of Astra Castle are unlike any you’ve seen before. Certainly, you’ve never been to a royal castle previously. Your father’s own hold is modest, still bearing the wooden foundation, whereas the rich lords have poured mortar and built in stone. 

So, it is a great honour to be among the noble women chosen to serve the queen. Most unexpected. As a daughter of a lower house, it is rather unusual, but it comes with the newly set writ tabled at the end of the uprising. That is how your father tells it anyhow. 

King Steven is as newly crowned as he is newlywed. After a lengthy revolt against the previous king, the land has settled, and upon his victory, the new ruler promises the expansion of prosperity to all. The very precedence of his war rested on the greed of the former court and its covetous lords. 

To those who took up his mantle, he has made good his word. To the commoners, he has sent bread and ale, livestock and alms; to the nobles, he has granted titles and lands. You were of the same doubt as your father, however, you expected to be forgotten in the disarray. 

Yet, you were not. You’re there with several other ladies. A set of blond twins borne of a duke and duchess, the sole heir of a widowed countess, and several earl’s daughters such as yourself. Unlike them, you do not wear satin or silk, not muslin either. You have only the dyed linen your mother attempted to enhance with some embroidery around the cuffs and collar. 

“Marcia and Marigold,” the twins introduce themselves as you cluster together in the gardens, grooms and servants bustling around carriages and chests. “Lady Calliope,” they call out the countess’ daughter, “we met prior, yes? Your mother is near Estrela.” 

“She is,” Calliope answers in her stern manner, herself seeming a widow in her black dress. The shimmery fabric makes up for its single tone. 

“Ameri, Dorida, and... Selene,” they point to the other girls, themselves clothed in scarlet, rose, and azure respectively. “We know the earls, your fathers. They gathered at our father’s hold for the battle near Caffre.” 

The twins take turns speak so that sometimes you cannot track whose lips are moving. It is even that they trade off in the middle of sentences. You find yourself almost as lost by their words as your new surroundings. 

“And you...” The twins turn their jade eyes upon you. It is there you have found the only difference in them; they have the same heights, the same hair, the same gowns even, but there is a sliver of grey through Marcia’s green iris. “We haven’t figured who you are.” 

“My father is an earl. In Woodsdam.” 

“Woodsdam,” they echo in unison and share a look. They are perplexed. 

“A minor house,” Calliope provides. “a farmer more than a noble, if I’m not mistaken.” 

“We have vast lands and we tend to them, yes,” you assure. You expect their condescension. Your father warned you for it but he bid that you keep your chin up. The king has given him a mission of his own and so you will represent the family for the time. “We keep our people well and we fed the king’s troops when they marched." 

“Mm, sounds very... common,” Marigold grins and her sister snorts into her hand. 

“We know many lords like us, yes. They work hard amidst their vassals. It keeps the lands strong so that we may better serve the crown,” you return evenly.  

Your mother helped you prepare. She coached you to keep your manners and your spine. The latter is much more difficult as you face these ladies and their bobbles with only a ribbon in your hair and a pair of patched gloves. 

“Woodsdam? I think I rode through it once on the way to my grandfather’s summer castle,” Ameri tuts, “it was little more than a swamp.” 

“It must’ve been the spring rains, perhaps, lady,” you offer. 

“Summer house,” she enunciates, “one travels there in the summer.” 

Your cheek twitches at her barbed retort. Very well. You are not used to their sharpness. Their chittering has thus far centered on gossip and the cost of their new caps. 

“A wonder the pauper’s daughter received an invite. Are you certain you can read, lady?” Dorida snipes and looks to the twins for approval. You notice how they all tend to do so. 

“It was sent to my father, Lord Eldon,” your voice quavers. You are not so strong as your mother bid you to be.  

They cackle at your meek response, “the precious maiden of Woodsdam.” 

You put your head down as the activity all around threatens to swallow you up. You wish the ground would rent and you would fall right through. All your excitement has dissipated to a sludge in your veins. You touch your cheek as you try not to show your embarrassment. 

“The Lord of Woodsdam,” a deep voice startles you as boots approach from behind, “is that what I heard?” 

You stiffen up as the ladies before you hush and blink, almost in tandem. They curtsey as their faces wash over in shock and you turn to face the newcomer. A man in a deep blue vest over black sleeves and grey breeches. He wears belt of gold and a circlet across his brow in a similar hue. It is that which betrays his statues. 

You lower your eyes and mimic the other women, mortified to be faced with new king so informally. You would not think him wandering out in the yard. Still, he has vowed to be unlike the former leige. That he would be of the people. 

“King Steven, your majesty,” the others titter in a messy chant and you murmur your own propriety as you back away. You find yourself still to the shoulder of the king as the other ladies give no room for you to join. 

The vision of him stains your mind. He is tall, with dark blond tresses that extend past his neck, and blue eyes which put his own attire to shame. He has a jaw which looks etched in stone and a bearing which matches his rank. He is tall and broad and a finely built knight. 

“It is an honour,” Marcia says most boldly. 

“You may rise,” he allows in a breezy timbre. “I did hear my wife would receive new ladies. Young ladies.” 

“Your majesty,” the murmur rolls across each lip. 

“It is much needed. We have so many established ladies at court and yet we need to think of the future. Of the next generation,” he declares as he emphasizes his words with his large hand. You watch his garnet ring to keep from so brazenly looking him in the face. 

“Certainly, your majesty,” Marcia and Marigold chime in unision. 

“And don’t worry for there are many young lords as well,” the king laughs galely at the quip which makes the ladies, yourself included, blush. “Ah, then, Woodsdam I believe we were speaking of...” 

You blink and glance at the other ladies. They are cowed, unsure if they were overheard in their derision. You hope as much as they that they were not. It is rather unflattering. 

“My father, Lord Eldon,” you explain, “your majesty.” 

“You? You are the young lady of Woodsdam I heard so much of.” 

“You did? Er, your majesty,” you curtsey apologetically; unnecessarily. 

“Certainly, I did. Your father was a great assistance in me holding counsel with the lower lords. He is very patient. “When not about his duty, he spoke of you oft. Though what matters are more important than family?” 

“Yes, your majesty,” you can’t help a smile, “my father is a very kind man.” 

“Kind and courageous. I’m certain you’ve inherited as much,” the king praises, “and these other ladies. The twins who belong to Mawsley, the Countess of Clovers daughter, and the three earls daughters from the White Plains.” 

The ladies each bow their heads as he proclaims them by their forebearers’ titles. You watch from aside, feeling even more out-of-place. The king recites them all proudly as he extends a finger for each. 

“Allow me myself to extend a welcome to Astra. When you are sorted, my wife shall receive you all and have you acquainted with the grounds. I hope you enjoy them, we’ve had the gardeners at work day and night,” he pronounces, “for now, I must be off, for a king has many obligations and not so much time.” 

He bows and turns on his heel, marching off with his shoulder straight and head high. He walks as a soldier does, not some lord. You’ve seen the difference before, more recently in the aftermath of battle. A soldier is more akin to a farmer, much as your father, whereas a Lord tends to keep his steps tight. 

“Wow, oh my,” Dorida fans herself, “he is rather handsome.” 

“Oh yes,” Marcia and Marigold say, the latter forging ahead, “we met him at our father’s castle. He is ever so charming.” 

“Hm, and the queen would love to hear it, I’m certain,” Calliope intones brusquely. 

“The queen is not here,” Ameri sneers, “so what does it matter? Besides, is it so wrong to state a truth?” 

“He is very elegant,” Selene agrees. 

“Much too kind, as well,” Marigold snips, “Woodsdam? He speaks as if it more than some paltry farmhouse.” 

“You’d never even heard of it,” Calliope remarks. 

“And how had you, hm? You seem the bookish type. Perhaps you should leave the maps to the men. What good will a river or road do for a widow’s welp?” 

“Needn’t be cruel,” Calliope rebuffs. 

“Pity if this is the lot they send,” Marcia shakes her head as the sisters share another cryptic look. 

You keep to yourself. That is all you can do. It is better to watch and learn than to leap and land wherever you might. Your mother always said so and she was your best teacher. 

“Right, there must be some maid who might show us to our rooms,” Marigold stands on her toes and waves at each passing servant. “I tire of the sunlight and boorish company.”

You have two trunks awaiting you in your chambers. Not as the other ladies who had at least a dozen each. Less humble than your lunger are the rooms themselves.

There is an antechamber hung with tapestries showing wildlife and flora, a table set for two and cushioned bench by the window. The bedroom is draped in similar hangings with a four-post bed and a grand hearth. A desk, another bench, a woven carpet, and fine accouterments on square tables. And a closet for the commode as well and a pot in the far corner of the bedchamber. 

If only your mother and father could see this. They would be just as amazed. You can’t help but admire all of it. To touch the curtains as you approach the window and stare off at the afternoon sky. The gardens are a medley of hues; petals and thorns; leaves and dirt. It’s all so wonderful, you can still hardly believe it. 

Seems those other ladies can’t either. You can’t help but think of their words anon. They said so outrightly what you doubted inwardly. You don’t belong here. It must be so clear to them. 

You lean on the ledge and peer down into the garden pathways. It is almost a labyrinth with how intricately they’ve laid out the hedges. You lower yourself down to your elbows and cross your arms as you sigh. 

Your eyes are drawn from the swaying roses to the dark speck that appears below. You squint at first. From the second floor, it is harder to discern. It is the glimmer of gold in his hair and the defined gait that gives away the king. For an instant, you believe you might be dreaming. 

He walks along one path and to the next. There is another with him. A man with darker hair and a stauncher figure. They speak and stop just as they enter a circled walkway centered by a large vase of flowers. The other man talks, though you can hear neither, and the king rubs his chin. 

You should turn away. They might think you an eavesdropper. Oh, too late! You don’t dare move as the king tilts his head. You wouldn’t want to pique his attention. You cannot tell if he has spotted you. Not until he raises a hand and waves. The other man stops and looks to follow the gesture. 

You stand up straight but before you can flee in horror, you recall yourself. It is improper to turn your back to the king. You lift your hand and return the wave. He dips his head and turns to clap his companion’s shoulder, pointing him onward. 

Oh, you hope he is not unhappy. If you pray, perhaps he will not have recognised you. You needn’t an enemy of the king as well.

I always thought of Rainbow Moissanite as a forced fusion, some kind of big scaled experiment. Because there is NO WAY any of the gems inside the fusion would ever hold as a fusion. Let me know if I'm wrong tho !

From here I just ramble random shit and slowly decent into madness... You can read if you want but just know it's very visible here I wrote that down late at night.

I imagine Moissanite to be shown in a huge climax, like the squad broke down into Pizzahead's lair, ready to beat 'em up, they're like "Yo tf you do with our friends", Pizzahead drops the villain grin and goes " MOUAHAHA FOOLS you fell right into my trap !" Or whatever " Now prepare yourself for the most powerful geo weapon of the Galaxy!" And you see this cluster of gem slowly forming with some sweet sweet body horror as everyone in this fusion wants to escape (Haha Steven Universe! You know? For kids :) ) And then they just scream and struggle to stand, to talk, to ,you know... EXIST. And then Moissanite proceeds to destroy everything in his way as any good Godzilla looking climax creature would, and then idk the squad starts to cry and sing like " NoOooo look inside your heart, you're not evil" or whatever and then Moissanite's like "you know what ? I don't want to struggle controling myself anymore " 'cause we gotta fit the climax in the 10 min mark you know. Now Moissanite's gotta deal with the fact they're the size of a house and uhhh... I don't know at this point...🫨.

Hey Sai I remember stumbling across a post of yours about a OC race of Aliens known as the Sneeple you did for SU once, and I was wondering if I could borrow that for a SU Fic I'm writing for possible Aliens who want revenge on the Gem Empire some time or as a stand in for Martians. I believe they were the one with the funny looking aliens who decided to attack Homeworld, but Spinel was there.

Oh man that brings me back. That was the first Steven Universe comic I ever did before I even started the AU. Don't look the art is old and bad!

I didn't come up with "Sneeple" tho, it's a running gag from the show and I based them on Steven's stupid puppet he used to represent the Cluster during Peridot's presentation.

Silly lil swap au!!! Steven’s mom is white diamond and the og 3 homeworld gems are the crystal gems!! Greg’s still his dad and most of early season one would be pretty much the same but with a more dysfunctional found family cuz they’re silly like that. The og crystal gems are now villains to be redeemed but in like. Slightly different ways idk man- With the diamonds it’s Pink in White’s place and then blue plays a bit more of an aggressive role than yellow does

-Jasper is the first time he sees a gem poof. It’s similar to the pearl episode but it’s a robot Peridot made instead of a pearl hologram- She gets frustrated with Steven not taking his battle training seriously and gets punched straight in the face because of it. She doesn’t stay in her gem nearly as long as pearl does and Peridot actually helps him when this weird lil robot keeps trying to fight him- The only reason Jasper doesn’t come back in a few hours is cuz she’s embarrassed she got poofed me thinks

-Sapphire comes to earth to use her future vision to see the status of the cluster and properly check on it- She has her group of 3 rubys with her and they manage to poof Jasper in the same manner of Garnet getting poofed by Jasper in canon. Ship chaos happens and Jasper manages to poof 2 of 3 rubies while the last one escapes in the escape pod with Sapphire. Steven bubbles the rubies cuz he’s silly like that and wants to make sure they’re going to be ok

-cue a couple fights later and Jasper gets frustrated that she’s lost a few battles to a lone ruby and a sapphire of all gems and starts pushing the other gems away and preventing them from fighting with her- She goes to attack Sapphire while Ruby’s catching her breath since she’s seemingly defenseless but Ruby jumps in and they fuse and sit there having a panic attack. Jasper stands there in shock for a moment cuz she’s not entirely used to fusion either before going to attack again-Only for Steven to jump in the way and save them

-Ruby’s getting stressed over the cluster and pacing in the barn so Lapis recommends Steven goes to show them what it’s like on earth-Cue Sapphire and Ruby slowly realizing they love each other. Also the frog. Steven shows them what a frog is and Ruby excitedly shows it to Sapphire. Gay people-They don’t fuse as often but like. By future they’re permanently fused?? But for the majority of the main series they only fuse when needed

-Amethyst comes to earth to collect Sapphire!! She has her limb enhancers to make up for her height n stuff- Idk how the baseball episode parallels will work but. They’re there. Somehow!! Garnet also gets to fuse to hide Sapphire since Amethyst wouldn’t expect a fusion idk anymore

-garnet somehow manages to poof Amethyst in her panic and Steven unbubbles her because he’s curious about her limb enhancers and peridot won’t tell her because she’s scared of him knowing too much about homeworld. She traps herself in the bathroom peridot style until Steven manages to make her realize she’s safe here and the cluster is bubbled and she’s allowed to be herself and doesn’t have to be afraid of being shattered for being defective if she messes up even slightly. She gets her peridot arc or smthn

-Greg gets taken to the human zoo like in canon but Pearls there with Holly Blue Agate to watch over the humans and their growth. She was sent there after white was shattered as punishment for failing her diamond and it’s seriously messed her up- She does see them being free tho and helps them escape with Greg without thinking- Steven offers for her to tag along and she hesitates until Holly Agate comes along and she immediately jumps in the ship

-Pearl watches Steven sleep like in canon but it’s. Creepier. It’s habit from the human zoo but she starts to investigate his gem in the process and realizes it’s her diamond aka white. She goes to remove the gem to free her diamond back-Maybe get her status back by having white back-Desperation type beat- only to wake Steven who panics and pushes her away- She panics massively and starts sobbing and calling him her diamond

-Instead of the loud distraction yell of “She’s Gone” from pink Steven- Steven accidentally mind controls pink for a split second and it makes them both tumble back- I don’t know fully how this scene would work tbh I gotta brainstorm more but. Ik white diamond Steven has a different set of powers than canon Steven- He’s got whites mind control powers n shit

-Bismuth takes the role of Spinel in the movie!! Not in the same abandoned sense but in a “you ruined our perfect plan” and wants to kill him for it whether her diamond wants her to or not- she’s silly like that!! She resets the gems like Spinel does and Jasper signs her life to Greg like pearl does- She carries him around n is super protective of him. Ma’am’s ready to kill someone on sight for Greg-

-Post-Corrupted Steven gets silly lil corrupted traits still. 1) his gem is flipped so it’s like a horn now 2) he’s got silly lil underbite fangs 3) spikes on his shoulders so his jacket is tied around his waist so it doesn’t get ripped 4) he’s like. Extra extra tired all the time someone save him

Alright! I had a lot of fun figuring Evil X out, probably bc of him being one of my blorbos.

Evil X has a lot of 'theories' surrounding what he is and I've seen some variations. He and X are siblings, they're X's clone, he's a glitched version of X, they're X's hels. etc etc. And so trying to figure out what to do for him.

While I already borrowed sweetest-honeybee's design in the second part of my Zed/WM gemcyt post, I didn't want to do like that and make him corrupted. I know the gemcyt stuff seems to play with corruption a little looser, but it still didn't feel right. So, I went researching and found a fun lil mix that seems to fit well.

First off, the closest thing you can get to a glitch in terms of gems is being off-color. I mean technically you glitch when you're cracked, but we're not doing that. Anyway, off-color gem Evil X, which is why there's the gem comparison. Next, the clone/hels part. I don't mention it on the sheet, but specifically, I think of this Evil X as a sort of gem experiment. No wait wait don't leave let me explain!

We saw that there were gem experiments of some type on the show. They were more fusion experiments using shards, and were experiments for the cluster (which technically don't work since they only emerged slightly before the cluster so there was no telling if they worked and if then the cluster would work). Also on the show, we're told that there's a resource problem on Homeworld which results in 'Era 2' gems like Peridot, who don't have all the abilities a normal gem would have. Also also in the show, when Steven and Lars are with the off colors on Homeworld, we see the kindergartens there. And while there are normal holes, there are also holes that overlap, as well as holes that look like there's been a chunk scooped out of them.

The analogy I could think of was like when you're making cookies. you roll out the dough, get a cookie cutter, and get all the cookies, but assuming you weren't using a square cutter, there's extra dough left between the cuts. Instead of just leaving it, usually you reroll it to cut out more cookies. Well, why can't Homeworld try the same?

Evil X is meant to be an experiment on if Homeworld can successfully do that. They scooped out extra rock from a kindergarten or two, compressed it into a new boulder, then used an injector on it. Eventually after a long while, out came Evil X. And that whole thing also leans into the clone thing because I imagine some of the scooped rock was from part of where Xisuma emerged.

Anyway, with all that, I originally thought about making Evil X look similar to Amethyst's pseudo buff reformation, but trying to draw that was a mess. I meant to go back and make him look a little more lopsided, but you'll have to just imagine that. Whoops. At the very least he has the funky stripes. I imagine that's probably from where the different rock pieces met or something, and since it wasn't as solid as regular rock, he was like that.

Coloring him was tough, but eventually I just copied Xisuma over, inverted his colors, and then shifted the hue to be more red. I considered making the green parts more black, but it didn't fit, so they're just more purpley to show that Xisuma connection or smthn.

Speaking of his gem, I show what I picture a normal Cuprite to look like. Meanwhile Evil X's is a bit misshapen, as well as that darker area that mimics the one reference I had. specifically that darker bit is chrysocolla, but he's still just cuprite.

Instead of a mask, he's just got a visor similar to what we've seen with Peridot and Doc and technically those zircons. And also instead of a mask he has those... blade things. Look, the best name i could find for them were blade gauntlets, but they look more like sword brass knuckles to me so I don't know. Also yes they are based on a weapon a digimon had, what of it?

And then, he is hella amethyst coded. Popped out of his rock thing in a chamber under the kindergarten (similar to the other experiments in the show) with no one around. He was an experiment and uses rock from different gems and is off color, so he doesn't know what he's for. Doesn't even know what diamond he should belong to, so that's why he's got a grey one on his chest. And there's a lot of little things and ideas for him that are inspired by Amethyst's characterization on the show, to the point I was planning a screenshot redraw even before I had his and Xisuma's designs even close to finalized.

I also have a fic I'm working on with him and Gemsuma, as well as that quick Jevin design plus a few teeny tiny references to other people's gem designs. If my adhd allows it, i should post that 1 shot fic tomorrow.

☆Reference Sheets☆

☆Steven☆

The star of the show, the main man himself; Steven "Starlight" Universe. Now a young adult - roughly in his mid 20s - the harsh and uncaring environment of the wider universe carves away his optimistic and carefree personality. As a result, he is much more prone to choosing the violent option - and is often his first choice. His violent tendencies and eroding moral compass eventually leads to him taking up bounty hunting as a living; seeing it both a way to acquire currency, and a vector for what he sees as justice. Although, perhaps some aspects of his kind and caring self exists underneath that jaded exterior.

☆Conn-E☆

Having an artificial intelligence take the form of your (presumably) dead best friend is... certainly... a way to cope with loneliness. Doubling as both an AI companion and pilot of the Nomadic Nebula -the ship that Starlight calls home - she is Starlight's only friend for the longest time. Conn-E also acts a a caretaker of sorts, doing menial tasks around the ship to take some pressure and stress off Starlight. She is aware of how starved for physical affection he is, and laments how - with her holographic body - is unable to fulfill that need.

☆The Crystal Gems (+Connie and Greg)☆

The Crystal Gems act as the sole barrier between what's left of humanity and extinction. It isn't easy trying to keep fifty or so humans alive in a Diamond ship that was not made with organic hospitality in mind, but they are somehow managing - thought its not without some trials and tribulations.

Garnet: Being the leader of the Crystal Gems, Garnet has an incredible amount of pressure being put onto her by both human and fellow Gem alike. While such a big responsibility weighs down on her so heavily, she keeps her cool around humans to keep their morale up. However, behind closed doors she allows herself to be more vulnerable with Pearl and Amethyst.

Pearl: A stressed anxious mess, Pearl shoulders the weight of responsibility alongside Garnet as one of the people the humans look up to the most. In Pearl's last resort to save herself, her friends, and humanity, she reveals her connection to Pink Diamond by unearthing the late Gem's ship; temporarily shattering Garnet and Amethyst's trust. She acts as the ship's primary pilot, being the most knowledgeable on how to operate it. Not telling Starlight the truth about who Rose was is one of Pearl's deepest regrets.

Amethyst: Being made on Earth, Amethyst holds the most sentimental value of the now destroyed planet than any other Gem. When she isn't busy going on supply runs or doing other tasks around the ship, she's sleeping or interacting with the humans - both to entertain herself and keep them happy. Though she seems lax and carefree, its a front she puts up for the sake of the people around her. In reality, Amethyst is just as scared and confused as everyone else. She holds resentment towards both herself and Garnet and Pearl for contributing towards the savior complex that ultimately lead to Starlight turning himself in to Aquamarine.

Connie: Being arguably the most capable human on the ship, Connie "Comet" Maheswaren frequently accompanies Amethyst on supply runs. With how unforgiving the wilds of space can be, she bears scars from her many, many harrowing close encounters with death; a testament to her resilience. Any feelings of betrayal Connie felt for Starlight sacrificing himself faded away a long time ago, being replaced with a deep longing for him. There is a 99% chance that Starlight is dead, and Connie believes that for the most part. But at the very least with the knowledge that he wasn't on Earth when the Cluster ripped it apart, she holds onto that 1%

Greg: Despite only eight years having passed since the Earth's destruction, Greg might have well aged twenty years with all the stress he goes through. His age and lack of any practical skills on the field means he is mostly designated as a civilian. That's not to say Greg is entirely useless, however. He does a great job keeping the other humans occupied. Turns out your musical talents become quite popular when you're one of the only people with a guitar left in existence. Losing the Earth was very hard on Greg, as was with everyone else. He copes with it by trying to keep himself distracted with song writing so he doesn't have to think about what the future might bring - if there's even a future for himself and everyone else in the first place.

☆Crystal Gem B-Team☆

Most of the attention may be on Garnet, Amethyst, and Pearl, but the other three that make up the Crystal Gems are still important - even if one of them has some controversial opinions.

Peridot: Peridot's technological and mechanical knowledge makes her the first person people turn to when something breaks. Despite having never set foot into the personal transportation vessel of a Diamond until now, she does her best to make sure everything is in working order. Pearl teaches her how to pilot Pink Diamond's ship when she is unable to do so herself for whatever reason. Peridot feels an intense amount of guilt for not fleeing the planet with Lapis when she initially did. Part of her wonders if she had convinced the Crystal Gems to leave with her, more organic life could've been saved.

Lapis: Lapis' first instinct when learning of Starlight's sacrifice was to flee in terror. She tries in vain to convince Peridot to come with her under the belief that once the Diamonds were done with Starlight, they would then come for the Crystal Gems. She is only half-right in this regard; the Diamonds instead coming for the Cluster. What she did between vanishing into deep space and reuniting with the Crystal Gems is a mystery, as she refuses to tell when asked. Regardless, her ability to manipulate water makes getting safe drinking water trivial and gives a massive boost to humankind's survivability.

Bismuth: Bismuth is among the bubbled Gems retrieved from the Crystal Temple before the Earth gets destroyed. She was in for a rude awakening when she reforms surrounded by her friends and a whole lot of humans on a Gem matriarch's ship. Being told that the planet you spent thousands of years defending in a war - a war that has taken many, many of your friends from you - is now gone forever cannot be easy to process. Bismuth's mentality that the Diamonds should be shattered only strengthens further because of this. She operates a combat training program to teach the humans how to use weapons in case the need ever arises.

☆Annedila, Kaiba, Helkrut, and Onyx☆

Humans and Gems aren't the only sentient species wandering the cosmos, and some of them are important - or at least relevant - to Starlight's story.

Annedila: A kind-hearted alien moth woman, Annedila saves a young Starlight from drowning in violent rapids after coming across him by pure happenstance. She acts as one of Starlight's two guardians for the first two years of him being stranded on the alien planet she resides on. Despite the initial language barrier, she tries her hardest to be the best mother she possibly could to this alien child, and the two grow rather close in the relatively short time they've know each other. Annedila displays traits that reminds Starlight of both himself and Pearl, which gives a comforting sense of familiarity in the podthroarth. It saddens her to see Starlight go when Gems inevitably come knocking on their door, but she believes he is capable of surviving on his own.

Kaiba: Kaiba harbors and intense dislike for Gems due to what they inadvertently did to his home planet; siphoning a star of its gasses and forcing the inhabitants of the planets within that system to evacuate. So when he first realizes Starlight has a Gem, he is quick to want to throw him to the metaphorical wolves, much to Annedila's dismay. Begrudgingly, he allows Starlight to stay with himself and his wife. Over time, as Kaiba actually talks to Starlight, he realizes that this weird Gem child may not be as bad as he initially thought, and by extension all Gems. By the time Starlight has to leave, he has actually grown quite fond of the kid and is sad to see him leave.

Helkrut: Greedy and selfish to the core, Helkrut represents everything Starlight could become if he were to disregard his moral compass altogether. It isn't uncommon for bounty hunters to become the bounty hunted, and Starlight has quite the pretty penny placed on his head because of his infamy. Helkrut has no qualms with killing someone who shares his profession if the pay is good. This centipede-like podthroarth is one of the two main threats that is always on Starlight's tail twenty-four-seven. This pursuit only worsens after Helkrut learns what - or who - Starlight really is.

Onyx: From pursuit out of desire for own personal gain, to pursuit out of obligation; Onyx Cabochon-1H9O Cut-7XA is a Gem commander assigned by the Diamonds to capture Starlight. Aquamarine escapes the ambush from the pirates that knocks over the first domino, and her survival means that the Diamonds now know "Rose Quartz" is wandering the cosmos. Under the belief that she is tasked with apprehending the rebel war criminal, Onyx is relentless in her chase. Her persistence often leads to encounters with Helkrut, which often end in the two scwabbling and Starlight escaping whilst they are distracted.

☆Diamond Starlight☆

The absolute pinnacle of Starlight's power. Doomed are those who draw the vengeful god's ire. The result of Starlight's trauma being so intense that it overloads his own gemstone, his Diamond form blazes like a prism - absorbing energy from the environment and blasting it out just as quickly; unable to retain or store any of that energy. The end result is an incredibly powerful state. Next to nothing is capable of stopping Starlight once he is in this form aside from another Diamond, and even that is pushing it. The tradeoff, however, is that this Diamond form is highly unstable and volatile. The entire time that Starlight is in this state, his own powers are burning away at his physical organic body. After a long enough time, his own healing powers begin to fail and his body starts being ripped apart at the cellular level. At this point Starlight is forced to leave this form or else he will die.

Chapter 3: Can we talk for a minute? - This is the Neighborhood Din Series.

This week there were a few things, like the writing challenge 2.0 @iamasaddie put together. We sent in asks, pick a color (I did it to myself, I asked for mob enforcer- where else was the fic to go but dark?) Despite being kinda freaked out at what I wrote (I’ll need to process that later) I like it. I usually don’t do dark fics but given recent themes in my writing it’s there. 👀 So I’ll write it if it pops up in the brain.

And this past weekend (I totally missed but sweethearts @perotovar and @honeyedmiller tagged me in) was the @swiftiscruff friendship exchange. From what I saw, people are writing fics for each other, making gif and moodboards and proving much needed friendship and fun. 😎

I’m sure there are other things. But I dunno what they are. 🤣 I hope everyone enjoys what they’re working on. And if you need to rest, drink some water, dance around, nap, all the things.

This week there will another chapter of Din’s neighborhood, I FINALLY have more Din fluff. Well in the neighborhood and Star Ocean Series. I should have another chapter of Benny and actual fluff post apocalypse. It escaped last week. So we’re bringing it back.

No more Ezra and his gumbo or tanktop 🥺 Part 8 will be up next Sunday. His prose will be no more for now. 🙃

My Frankie miniseries will be almost done. This Friday and the next Friday of my math is right. lol

Tell a friend to tell a friend- She’s BAAACK!!

This is an Owl House/Steven Universe AU, specifically an ‘SU in TOH’ variant!

Casual Kiddos + Season 1 Adults

So in Season 1, a human named Steven wanders into the dimension of Homeworld. He is quickly accepted into the fold of The Crystal House, a home for three outlaws Witches who came together- Garnet, the daughter of a Wild Witch (Ruby) and an upstanding Demon (Sapphire), Pearl, a former Guard for the Covens before defecting, and Amethyst, a cursed Witch.

Steven and Amethyst start in the Detention Track…

But quickly chose to Multi-Track. Amethyst studies Beastkeeping, Construction, Illusions and Abominations. Meanwhile, Steven starts out studying Healing and Plants, but expands to Beastkeeping, Oracle, and Illusions to learn the type of magic that the other Gems learned (Amethyst, Garnet and Pearl in that order)

Season 2 happens then (featuring the new uniforms) and the Crystal Gems have to deal with the three Main Heads- Blue, the Healing Head, Yellow, the Abominations Head, and White, the Empress’s Head. What they learn as the season continues is that, actually, they (and Pink, who was the Plant Coven Head before she ‘died’) are witch hunters. Pink was a born a Witch in the Human Realm, and so her sisters gave up their witch hunting ways to find someplace Pink could be safe… or so they thought. Really, White never gave up being a Hunter, and was just looking for a way to get rid of every witch at once.

What Steven learns at the end of Season 2 is that, first off, he’s a Grimwalker. White made him as a copy of Pink and wanted to use him to test various murder methods on witches, but Pink found out and fled, faking her death. She cut her and Steven’s ears to keep them safe in the Human Realm, but she botched the job a bit. Pink took on the name Rose, fell in love with and married a human named Greg Universe, and died in childbirth with her daughter Nora (who also passed).

Steven does… not take this well.

And spends like half of Season 3 downright miserable.

But yeah that’s the main summary of the AU! Some additional Notes:

Yellow is the Abominations Head because she created the Cluster.

Peridot takes over as Plant Head after Pink (because Peri’s a farmer). The Other Coven Heads are Nephrite for Beastkeeping (because she was a beast), Lapis for Oracle (because she was trapped in a mirror and I can warp that into a crystal ball), Jasper for Construction (all quartz are Construction, it’s why Amethyst has it), Fable for Illusions (Because obviously), Aquamarine for Potions (idk, she has a wand?? So I guess Potions is the witchiest Coven??) and Pyrope for Bard (I have no clue why)

Bismuth is Raine, because obviously.

Pearl has an Illusions sigil, so that obviously causes problems.
