75G DRY ALMONDS (SKIN ON)

312G BOILING HOT WATER

113G WHITE SUGAR

113G TURBINADO BROWN SUGAR

3G SALT

1/4 OZ. COGNAC

1/4 OZ. AMARETTO

4 DROPS ROSE WATER

3 OZ. TAHINI

GARNISH: MINT BOUQUET, BANANA CHIPS & BLACK SESAME SEEDS

Add all of the ingredients to a shaker with ice, shake, and pour the contents in the glass. Top with pebble ice. Garnish.

Sometimes you get put down for being autistic and weird...

And sometimes your neighbours ask you questions about Japan because they're going there on vacation, and you write them a 14 pages long list of things to visit and cultural tips and vocabulary and a pronunciation guide (while knowing full well this is not a normal thing to do); and they read the entire thing and invite you to their place for dinner to ask you follow up questions, let you infodump about kabuki history and Shinto culture and sound genuinely interested in it, and they learn the Japanese phrases you gave them and ask you to correct their pronunciation.

Sometimes you find people who are genuinely interested in you and happy for you to share your knowledge. Sometimes being neurodivergent is a fucking gift.

they don't have martini glass in heroforge :/ i was going to do the chalice but it's too high fantasy, so he has some sort of brown liquid instead [whiskey? scotch? i'm sorry i don't drink] instead of a martini. I tried to do kalina's hand as if it was holding a martini glass though.

I also realized like 90% of the way through the extremely detailed and difficult advance posing process that brennan specifies that kalina is "a little taller than pok, probably 4 to 4 1/2 feet tall" and heroforge has like. specific height measurements that are supposed to correspond to real life heights. and my kalina is way way too big. but resizing her would erase like a solid hour of work so maybe another time. she's still "a little taller than pok", probably just a little more tall than she would've been.

I was torn b/w the furry animal torso and smooth animal torso, but since Kalina is specifically described as looking like a domestic housecat, I feel like the furry one is too shaggy and unkempt. I wish her claws were more subtle but thems the breaks.

it doesn't specify whether kalina's arm is also around pok, but doing other poses just looked weird. if kalina was the right size it would be around his waist not his shoulder but again, thems the breaks.

someday, if heroforge finally adds a suit jacket that is fully buttoned up, i will put it on pok. they have open suit jacket and one button buttoned suit jacket, but none where both buttons are buttoned. this is my purgatory.

they also don't have any like. 'satin' cloth pre-made color. i'm actually pretty proud of how her dress turned out.

Random cocktail of the day: The Pink Cure

1 shot aperol

1 shot rose gin

1 shot sugar free cranberry juice

Top glass off with lemon perrier

Tastes vaguely of cough syrup. The perrier and ice are a must to thin out the flavors of this drink. Personally I’m a big fan of gin and a huge aperol hater, and this concoction brings out the worst in both. 4/10 I’ll finish it but I’m probably not going to make it again.

There’s so much that I have to address today — getting closure from the 55-60 hour work week, finding out why all the office door/gate codes changed without my knowledge and how I was able to get locked in, holding my grandma accountable for her cruelty towards me when no one else in the family will, figuring out lunch when I’ve been too busy to go to the grocery store for over a week + still being prepared for a post-lunch meeting ?????

I feel like I just can’t keep up with my life and I’m barreling towards important events lacking any sense of preparedness, because I’m honestly still trying to mentally recover from my work trip……………. that was in May

Coconut Whip

Handful of frozen pineapple 1/4 cup of frozen mango 1 oz pineapple juice 1.5 oz cream of coconut 1.5 oz rum or tequila 3/4 oz Licor 43 Ice Pineapple leaves Pineapple slice

In a blender, combine frozen fruit, cream of coconut, ice, Licor 43, and liquor of your choice. Blend until smooth and pour into your favorite glass. Garnish with pineapple leaves and a pineapple slice.

TIP: add a splash of water to your cream of coconut for easier pouring

8. share a car with, share a bank account with, share a cake with

This one had me stumped for a while because of the bank account thing. Blanche is very clearly the richest among the three, but she's also a big and extravagant spender, and I'm not sure a single bank account would be able to support both of us 😂 she also got swindled that one time in S5E22: Cheaters, so... yeah, I'm not putting my money into her hands 😂

My knee-jerk reaction was to share an account with Dorothy, since she's the most level-headed and responsible one of the trio. I mean, she kept her family afloat for decades on very little money, and she handles both her expenses and (most of) Sophia's ones! But then I remembered that she's been shown to take impulsive decisions and go on shopping sprees that she can't afford at times (see eg S3E3 Bringing Up Baby), and she has also dealt with a gambling addiction in the series, so...

All in all, surprisingly enough, I feel like the most reliable one when it comes to money is Rose! iirc, all her financial problems in the show were related to either losing her job or losing Charlie's pension -- so she's not *rich*, but she seems to be responsible with the little finances she has. She's a little too generous with donations (I vaguely remember her gifting money to a fund for needy rich people?), but apart from that, she's fairly sensible when it comes to money! I'd mostly feel safe sharing an account with her. :)

With that out of the way... if that 'sharing a car' is a long-term arrangement, I'm definitely sharing with Dorothy. I'm willing to bet she's great at car upkeep and at keeping track of car-related responsibilities! She'd be the type to fill up the tank once she's done using the car because she doesn't want to leave me with no gas :') and she'd be very respectful of any set turns or arrangements!

That leaves Blanche and sharing a cake -- and I have to say, it sounds like a dream! I can't wait to listen to her sordid tales of young romance while she convinces me to put some ice-cream on that cake (and it would be a cheesecake, obviously!).

9. watch a soap opera with, go to a play with, watch your favourite movie with

This one is much easier, haha! My favourite movie of all time is The Sound Of Music, and I'm sure watching it with Rose would be a fantastic experience. We'd make an evening out of it, complete with a good blanket to snuggle under and chocolates with little marshmallows on top! And we'd sing all the songs, of course -- so it would double as a karaoke night :)

I'm definitely bringing Dorothy to a play. She enjoys theater plays, so she'd have a grand time, and that's already a point in her favour; plus, she's knowledgeable about literature and history, so odds are she'd be able to enrich my experience by telling me interesting stuff about the play itself, the author, and/or the historical context it was written in. It would be so fascinating -- I'd learn so much, and I'd have a wonderful time!

As for the soap opera, Blanche is the perfect choice, no question -- and not just because she's the only one left. She's the queen of drama! And soap operas are the most dramatic shows ever! We'd have a blast just reacting to everything that happens (with a good cocktail glass of lemonade in hand, of course) -- and if I'm lucky, our watch party might even turn into a hell of a gossip session!
