you know with Code MENT making a comeback i gotta say while I'M AT SOUP is legendary and a piece of internet meme history for completely deserved reasons i think it's a shame that episode (and the last one we had for years!) also has some really, really fucking great jokes that were kinda lost to the flow of time. like there's SO many good jokes in that episode but what comes to mind in particular:

My favorite April Fools prank this year (aside from the boops) was PurpleEyesWTF uploaded a new episode of Code MENT after retiring 4 years ago, and the video was indeed a new episode of Code MENT.

so for anyone interested in wondering WTF happened to Code MENT and the like after we were getting new episodes: PurpleEyesWTF recently commented on his kofi that he got sick with COVID and deleted his channel when not in the best state of mind and from the sound of it, he doesn't really want to start over from the beginning. it wasn't a creator breakdown or anything like that, just was sick, had a high fever, and made a decision he can't really reverse as a result

regardless of my personal feelings (which are very negative) of the jokes made in the new episode descriptions, that's basically it and i'm glad the guy didn't have some kind of psychotic breakdown or was otherwise mentally unwell. at least we had good memories of it while it lasted, and PurpleEyes at least seems to be taking it in good spirits and is happy to move onto the next phase of his life without this old youtube channel being a part of it. we already went like 10 years without anything from him: if nothing else, we got two more episodes before it all ended for good. maybe he'll return to Code MENT given every single video he's made has been archived, but i kinda doubt it at this point
