hi babe!! here's a short and hopefully easy to understand tutorial for the text i use in my posts ᥫ᭡

also, just a little disclaimer: the images on this post might not be visible because they exceed the limit of 10 images per post on mobile app. should be fine on a laptop or pc though!!

okay firstly, make sure you're using a laptop and open your post in one tab and in a seperate tab open jsfiddle.

you should be able to see this coding somewhere on your screen:

you're gonna replace the two hex-codes (highlighted text) with whichever colours you'd like. to do a gradient, like this, the two codes will be different, but i like to do a solid colour like this so my codes will be the same.

the hex code i use for the baby pink is D2A3BE, or you can use your own. if you don't have a hex code you like yet, you can use the colour picker on this site to find one!

just copy and paste the hex codes into the code so it looks like this:

make sure it looks exactly like this. you still need all the spaces, quotations and other code. only change the hex codes.

in the top left of your screen, there should be a "run" button, and when you press it, the colours in the bottom right should change from the default ones to the ones you chose.

next, you're going to open your tumblr post in your first tab.

your post will start like this. you'll go to the settings button in the top right (circled) and change the post from rich text to HTML

this will enable coding on the post. you'll still have 'preview' where it will look normal and you can still type and edit the post as you usually would.

once you've typed something it will show it in the HTML option just in a different way:

you want to go to the preview page and make sure you've got the text looking exactly as you want it (bold, italic, small, etc.). also note that colours look especially good and show up well when the text is bold. i set mine to bold as an example.

when you switch to HTML it will look something like it does above.

next, you'll copy the text between all the coding prompts (e.g. <p><b> and <b><p>). only copy the text you want to be pink or another colour!! don't highlight any of the coding. then paste it this top box on jsfiddle so it looks like this:

press "run" on the right, and it will spit out a line of code in the second box that will look something like this:

you're gonna copy that line of code and switch over to your tumblr tab. on your HTML version of your post, find the text you're changing and highlight it. then paste the code into that spot. make sure not to highlight any of the surrounding code - only the text you've written and want to change.

it will look super weird and long because it's colouring each symbol and letter, if you look closely, each letter of "example text" is separated and surrounded by code. when you switch to preview it will look like this:

for gradient, the process is the exact same, but on jsfiddle, when you're replacing the default hex codes with yours, the second hex code you plug in will be different to the one you start with. for example:

this second colour is C45494 btw!!

to do specific text in a paragraph as if bolding it (which i do in a lot of my posts), you just want to find that text in your HTML post, and copy and paste the specific word/s into your top box on jsfiddle, and then proceed as normal. example:

Well I missed Sunday, but thank you for the tags @monbons, @artsyunderstudy, @nausikaaa, @that-disabled-princess, @thewholelemon, @you-remind-me-of-the-babe and @blackberrysummerblog. As always, it's wonderful to see what you're all working on. You guys are a true inspiration and this is truly my favourite little corner of the internet.

I am slowly plodding along with Snow On Ice chapter 3. I stayed with my parents in the countryside last week, and was able to get a bit of writing done on my ipad when inspiration hit on a sunny afternoon half way through walking the dog.

Simmy was a bit annoyed to have his walk interrupted by a long sit in the grass. (I didn't even let him eat all the weeds he wanted to. I'm such a cruel dog parent!) But I had a lovely time writing in the sun on the edge of a peaceful field.

Simon is having less of a good time in this SOI snippet under the cut:

I gritted my teeth while my brain sluggishly attempted to process his lecture, but the page of dense notes and tables in my hand was eating up most of my bandwidth. A muscle twitched in my jaw as all the tightly packed words became a jumble of black and white demands, trapping me in the cells of a table that was fastidiously titled ‘Training Schedule Week 4: Penelope Bunce & Simon Snow’ as if Baz thought it likely I could forget both Penny’s name and my own at any given moment. I felt my breath catch in my lungs as my throat began to close up.

I ended up writing a load of this section in past tense since Simon is recalling something that happened earlier on in his week. I used to write in past tense all the time, but now it feels so weird! Simon and Baz are apparently meant for nothing but present tense in my brain.

:BLUSHYSMILEYCATEMOJI: hehehe well, it is mostly done, it just needs the polishing up for proper posting display with the accompanied drawn diagrams and colour coding (also it's quite old at this point, started working on it a year ago and wanted to work on lore stuff so I put it on hold, so the doodles look kinda bad but oh well alsjdfsdfj). The one main thing I just have to make her Reformed Mordrem minions to display the rest with the little visual diagrams, but I can post what I have done here so far <3 (this is actually the first time I've posted the updated state of this WIP since I last talked about it last year lskjfs. So sorry in advance if some of this seems janky as I haven't gone over it in a hot minute) Note: I also wanna redo the icon thing to be more of an eye instead of the lotus since it makes more sense literally and thematically and to just try to make it look better in general. For context my OC Mourynn/Vallotash (same person kinda) is Mordremoth's (parasitic) Scion in a weird imposter (syndrome) situation (leaving that bit out for now), and her whole thing was inspired by the ??? area in Jahai bluffs with the one quote that inspired her existence "Are you a dragon dreaming that it's a hero? If you were, how would you know?", where the area also matches her colours thematically too, and why her Mesmer abilities all revolve around hallucinations and tapping into the "Dragon of mind/plant, roots/madness, etc." where the spec also evolves slowly over time as she develops, but it does get amped up during LS1 with Scarlet being responsible for kickstarting it (as she brainwashed Mourynn to help cultivate the Dreamthistle into the Toxic Offshoots, and from there with HoT and so on as things got worse and this just evolved into it's own thing, haha). Super abridging explanations (and badly lol) since I feel that part with the Toxic Alliance and those spores were an important step towards this becoming what it is. Also I still need to decide on names for some things, but oh well ;w; ANYWAYS! Mourynn's custom Mesmer elite spec (WIP):

Re: the latest helluva boss short, i REFUSE to believe that blitzø is bad in the sack. i just refuse that notion all together. i do believe he has zero technique whatsoever though, because he relies heavily on confidence and on his excellent capability of reading people.

See, thats all you need to be a sex god imo. If youre skilled enough at reading peoples reactions properly, you dont need technique because you dont need generalisation, you figure out what that SPECIFIC person likes. and that makes you invaluable to their eyes. i do believe two things, one is that blitzø enjoys cracking open that mistery and exploring what makes someone tick, two is that he is extremely observant and good at reading people/situations (exes and oohs is a great example of this, both in how he clocked the drugged drink right away and how he slept with chaz to get info), aside from also being quite versatile, handy and extremely adaptable.

Third thing i believe is that blitz is also DEFINITELY all over the place, so sometimes he may also be bad at sex because he can also be selfish and self centered, so he may not care enough to pay attention to the other person at times. But he has the capability to be great in bed is all im saying.

So what i believe happens in the short is, first of all as other people have said he has some complicated feelings about this crystal. Because of course. So maybe he doesnt even feel like pleasuring a stupid crystal when he should be pleasuring stolas, thank you very much!! And also the crystal is an inanimate thing, he cant really gauge a reaction from it so he would have to rely solely on technique, which he lacks 😋

SO, I was working with some nontransitive dice, also known as conman dice, to see if they actually work as intended.

The way that they work is that each pair of dice has a colour associated with it. Each pair has also been manipulated so that it is MORE likely to have a higher average than two numbers (only exceptions are red and green, red is strong against three numbers and green is only strong against one), and is LESS likely to beat two other numbers. There are five pairs overall. Those pairs are red, purple, yellow, green, and blue. Here is a helpful diagram I picked up off the internet.

The way that they work is that each dice has only three possible combinations: a high number, a low number, and a number that is an average of those two. Because the lowest number is always ten lower than the highest number, the middle number will always be five lower than the highest number. How this is manipulated is that some numbers have a higher possible highest number, but dice with a lower highest possible number have said number appear on more sides, balancing it out.

As I said, each dice pair has three possible numbers. Red can make 8, 13, or 18. Purple can make 2, 7, or 12. Yellow can make 6, 11, or 16. Green can make 0, 5, or 10. And blue can make 4, 9, or 14.

So I was curious to see how well they worked, so I did a little experiment where I rolled each pair 100 times and put it all into a table so I could average it out at the end. It is inevitable that at least one number will go against it’s expected statistic, since in actual practice it is impossible to have the numbers go in a perfect loop like what is shown in the statistics.

And so I did that. Red averaged 9.5, purple averaged 9.3, yellow averaged 8.95, green averaged 8.25, and blue averaged 10.6.

So in the end, the outlier was blue. If you put it against the table though, every single other colour did exactly as predicted. Which was honestly not an outcome I was totally expecting.

So overall, experiment success! Mathematics has once again proven itself to me and now I have a very fun set of dice. Maybe I’ll do a repeat experiment at some point to see how often each colour is the outlier, but for now I’m gonna rest because god, my arm really hurts.

first up, the big pictures! mainverse!Olive and Podrey's styles mostly take after their mom and pops', respectively, so I decided to keep that true in Swapstar also! of course, they still both have touches of their dads in there, they just manifest a little differently.

their patterns are swapped around!

Olive usually has dots, while Podrey usually has stripes. there's no real "meaning" to this swap, as they aren't swapped with each other or anything, I just thought it'd be fun an make things feel a bit more "off" with them.

the touches of each other's colour are also gone, signifying how their bond is... nowhere near as strong in Swapstar. I considered either swapping around their signature colours or making them pink and orange instead, but I felt like making them recognizably "them" but disconnected from each other worked better.

in addition, I thought it'd be a fun inversion to make Podrey actually wear her fancy coat, as opposed to either tying it around her waist or ditching it entirely.

ultimately, Olive is mostly the same, and I could easily see her mainverse self wearing something like this outfit... Podrey, however.

given her... EXTREMELY different circumstances in Swapstar (up to and including the fact she likely wouldn't exist at all), things are Up with her. mainverse!Podrey tries to be like Peasley, but given how things are in Swapstar... yeah. the fact she's even beanish at all is a sore spot for her.

bleaching her hair blonde, or keeping it long enough that the texture becomes obvious are big "no"s, and you can ABSOLUTELY forget about any swordplay. she has to fit perfectly into whatever role people want of her, because people absolutely don't want her to be anything like him.

unfortunately, his influence comes through, whether she likes it or not. Swap!Peasley's sharper curls, uneven eyes, and even taste in long gloves and tall boots (not pictured) are all present in her to some extent, not to mention... well... mainverse!Podrey inherited the Thunderhand. I think it's safe to say something even more powerful might "stick" a little harder than that.

so that's reflected in the blackened tips of her hair and the red glint in her eyes, weehee. >:) I wouldn't be surprised if there's some blackening on the tips of her fingers and such too, contributing to why she covers up more than her mainverse counterpart.
