Hello New Comers

I'm Sol, the artist and owner of this strange little corner of tumblr. I just wanted to take a moment to say Hello to new followers and wish you all a wonderful spring season! I'm currently working on little projects here and there to spark up my creative drive. I haven't done much drawing/artsy stuff in a very long time (for various reasons) so this blog has sort of become my virtual sketchbook to encourage myself to be creative again. As you can see my current muse happens to be the Moomins; But I take interest in many subjects and draw, paint, sketch other subjects as well!! I enjoy a little interaction and would love to hear from any of you about what you'd like to see in the future, if you have ideas for more Moomin sketches/drawings you'd like to see me try my hand at, or if you'd just like to drop a friendly 'Hello!' i've seen a fair bit of... pessimism about dorym lately, esp with the ep107, for example wondering if dorian's opposing views on the gods making orym fall out of love, and i have to say. i very highly doubt it, ur fr talking about the man who has held on to will for so long, holding onto will's family and affectionately calling this *his* family too because that didn't stop when will died. i dont think falling out of love is an option or even a thought to orym.

that said, we know that orym has contingencies for if anyone in bells hells crosses the line into being a version of themselves they would despise, for anyone who jeopardizes their mission. his mission. i think, for the first time since knowing dorian, orym finally has a contingency for him. the longer dorian is back, the more orym sees how scarred he is by what's happened (understandable so) and knows that dorian is with bells hells all the way. but if he isn't...

"how could anyone ship bloodweave they make no sense at all" did you think about their stories, their motives, their ailments, their shared hobbies, the subtle progression of their relationship throughout the acts, and how very similar they can be despite being different. i know that you didn't but if you had then perhaps you would understand why some people might ship them, especially since a) you can successfully romance them in an origin run thus making it possible, b) astarion already tries flirting with gale unprompted in act 1, and c) you can romance astarion with a good-aligned pc and romance gale with an evil-aligned pc. so, like. what's not clicking

Oh! I have a few more questions.

1, Could you tell us what was the reasoning for the names of the Characters? Does their names have any symbolism behind them or any references to things or characters from different media? And are those the characters Aactual name or just nicknames?

2. You mentioned on your Instagram story if a human were to go to Dreamalong, they’d turn into a puppet. So does that mean all the cast are really humans turned into puppets?

3. Since there’s a large main cast, will each of the main characters be able to character get an equal amount of screen time?

Hi there!! You always pose such really interesting questions, and it's an honour that you (or anyone!) think deeply about my project, so I want to preface this by saying thank you! <:o) It's always a treat! Now to answer!

So for the characters, I can't say too much on how they got those names within their story, but I can tell you how I picked them out! They're living in a world where their culture is based around children's' media/logic, especially around puppet shows, which is why their names are so silly/cute! Their names are descriptive of their innate lucid dreaming abilities or their temperament, fun alliteration, it might be a joke or a play on a phrase, or on rare occasion, it would be because I looked at them and went, "He is very adamant you call him Mufflin", ha!

As for humans turning into puppets, that's a good question! I like to think of it as total immersion in a world via metamorphic adaption (an example I can think of is how in Kingdom Hearts, Sora gets a disguise most of the time to blend into the world, hahaha). There's a dress code, so as a guest, you're donning a puppet persona of yourself :o)

For instance, I draw myself as this little fuzzy worm with a wizard hat, and that is who I am in Dreamalong HAHA Lastly, yes! I would like for each character to get an equal amount of attention as they're all of equal importance, at least to me! They all have a message tied in to them!

On one hand, I agree that there should be a more diverse field of subject matter utilized in "adult animation". Not all "adult animation" should be used as an excuse to revolve around shock content and gratuitous potty humor. At this point in time, stuff like this being seen on prime-time television is no longer out of the ordinary. And, from my observation, is done well even less frequently. There should be more films that treat themselves seriously and explore an array of topics rather than just comedy with a middle-school idea of mature subject matter.

ON THE OTHER HAND. I don't think there is ANYTHING wrong with animated movies and shows with lots of drugs and boobies and sex and gross jokes. I think cartoon characters having freaky sex is funny af. Both have the right to exist together. Art should not be pigeon-holed through a lens of "respectability" in order to be taken seriously. Demanding adult animation be "palatable" for an "adult" audience ultimately strips it completely of what makes it a unique medium for expression in the first place.

What if there is a fic where Kaz and Inej are together (in the future, post CK), and Kaz is further along in his healing journey than Inej? Taking into account that neither of them are in the ace spectrum in this universe that I describe. As a fan, what would your reaction be if Kaz explored his sexuality with someone else? With Inej encouraging this, no cheating. It hurts not to be able to be where he is, but she doesn't want to hold him back.

And so this happens, and Kaz choose someone close, whom he trusts (woman, man, whatever you want). And he really enjoyed it. And let Inej also know that he enjoyed it. As a fan of this ship, would this bother you? or is it something you would be willing to explore?
