Inappropriate: Armitage Hux x Reader - Ch. 1
TW: nsfw stuff, mentions of Brendol Hux being an abusive father, mentions of canon-typical violence, mentions of masturbation and sex.
Summary: Hux has to travel to Starkiller Base to check on construction. His favorite lieutenant comes with him, but these horrible, terribly inappropriate thoughts just won't stop.
[Ch. 1], Ch. 2, Ch. 3, Ch. 4
Hux knew he had chosen the wrong career when he packed for the transport. Maybe if he was a radar technician, or a trooper, or some kind of farmer, this wouldn't be happening. He would be trapped on a transport with that stupid child, Ren, for over a full day. As if he wasn't capable enough to check in on the progress of Starkiller Base's construction on his own. As if Ren could do anything but swing a lightsaber. But, when Snoke said to go, what was he supposed to do? Complain like a child that he couldn't stand that long near Ren? Tell Snoke the idea of bringing a liability like Ren to the barely-wired Base was a bad idea? So, he went. But he didn't have to be happy about it.
Fuming, he finished packing two more crisp uniforms, his datapad, and a coat for the journey. He also counted the rotations until his retirement--12,045, to be exact, if he managed to survive that long--and wondered if there was any way he could kill Ren in his sleep, if the bastard even slept. By the time he had gotten to the Finalizer's hangar, he had decided poison would be best, and that he'd move to some penthouse in Coruscant, get 5 cats, and become some miserly old curmudgeon once he was done working.
The hangar was one of his favorite places, following the bridge, because it housed so much controlled chaos. Just like his precious bridge, it was carefully managed, teeming with droids and techs, always working, always awake. He liked the brightness of the lights in both places, keeping him up through the night cycles, always working away at his datapad. At least Mitaka would be on the mission, he figured, and he was tolerable. And punctual, he noted as he walked around their transport, given that he could see a pair of boots under the nose of the ship. As he rounded the front, he came face-to-face not with Mitaka, but with you.
Oh, fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck. As was usual when it came to you, he was done for. You had served under him for two years as a Lieutenant, his best strategist even with his rose-colored glasses off. You two worked closely together, which had been just about killing him. These feelings, these stupid stupid thoughts, would nestle in his brain every time he let his guard down. What if he just brushed your hands together, working late one night on the bridge? What would it be like to kiss you? What would it feel like to have your nails down his-- he stopped himself. That was completely inappropriate. And something he would think about a lot more later. With that thought firmly lodged in his head, he just had to act like a human being long enough for Mitaka to arrive, then he could wash it away in the refresher.
"General!" You broke the silence with a smile and a wave. He had asked you to stop saluting when you saw him, partially because you saw each other so often, but mainly because it reminded him of the fact that he was your commanding officer, and that his little crush was inappropriate. So, so, inappropriate.
"Lieutenant," he said, pausing. Small talk. Small talk. Right. "What brings you to the hangar?" he asked. Real smooth, dumbass.
"I'm coming with you on the mission to Starkiller, sir. You requested a Lieutenant come along, and Mitaka is in the medbay for...injuries, so I'm filling in," you replied. It didn't need to be said that the injuries were caused by Kylo Ren. That was the only cause of injuries in the bridge, anyway.
Normally, he would be thrilled to have you replace Mitaka. You were much more enjoyable to be around, and you weren't one of the people who regularly faced Ren's wrath, so it worked out for him. Except for the fact that he would be spending twenty-four hours, there and back, with you. He could feel the blush climbing up his neck, and he tried to defuse it. You had been a couple of years below him in the Academy, you had been on plenty of missions with him, and you had worked late into the night right beside him plenty of times. He knew you. He wouldn't do anything stupid, like thinking about your time in the Academy, when he helped you study for exams in the library and he imagined what it would be like to make out against one of the shelves--he stopped himself again. This was really getting out of hand, and if he kept going down that road he'd get hard in the middle of the hangar.
"I hope Mitaka recovers well, and that his injuries are not severe. He is a good Lieutenant," he said, mentally kicking himself. What the hell was wrong with him?
"Yeah, Dopheld is pretty okay, just some scrapes. It was... avoidable." Despite your careful language, he knew what you were telling him. You had both harbored a dislike of Ren ever since he joined the Order, but, since he entered your orbits, both of you took issue with him. You, more because he hurt your colleagues. Hux, for obvious reasons. Regardless, you were both united in your general dislike of the Commander.
The pilot stepped out of the ship, telling both of you that you could get on. He gestured for you to go first, out of some semblance of politeness. He kept his eyes pointedly on the back of your head and not your ass as he walked. Back. Of. The. Head. Your hair--he thought about your hair when it was loose, back in social events at the Academy or during balls, and how he had wondered what it would be like to run his fingers through it, or tuck it behind your ear, or pull it--stars, he definitely needed a shower at this point.
As you entered the ship, he was unpleasantly surprised by how cramped it was, and the pilot showed you to your rooms. His was pretty standard fare: a bed, a refresher, a nightstand. At least it's not shared, he thought. He nodded at the pilot and set his bag down, taking off his coat and unceremoniously flopping it onto a nearby chair. He fished out his datapad and sent you a brief comm.
"Shall we meet in the lounge at 1800 for a briefing on the Base? We can also get dinner, if you would like." He typed the last part hurriedly, sending it before he could think better of it. That was normal, right? For work, right? He had 45 minutes to go cool off before he saw you again. Or, stars forbid, Ren.
Ren still hadn't made it onto the ship, and takeoff was in five minutes. Hux smiled to himself. Maybe there was hope that this mission could be fun after all. He was still, rather embarrassingly, flustered from your previous encounter. He shed his uniform quickly, getting to the refresher and turning on the water as cold as it would go. The ship started under his feet, engines whirring and coming to life as it prepared for takeoff. Hux braced himself against the walls of the shower, smiling even wider.
Ren hadn't made it. There was just you and him, working on the ship for a full rotation. His brain immediately thought of ways to spend the time that were less than savory. Against the wall, for one. On the floor, on the bed. Maybe in the refresher? He leaned his forehead against the shower wall, willing those thoughts away as he felt himself harden. His hand instinctively went to his cock, and he drew in a halting breath. Not now.
This was going to be a hard, hard twenty-four hours.
AN: this has been banging around in my head for a while. man i love my armitage nice and awkward and pining. let me know what you think!!

hey. list of hallucinations and delusions hux has. coming from someone with a history of both. content warnings in tags but typical hux things i think.
- people he knows dying in some ways. crying out for help, screaming. auditory to the point of him having to go check multiple times for a body, even if the person in question is known to be somewhere else.
- bugs. tactile, audio, or visual. it depends. he doesn't actually mind them. if anything, it's more of a comfort. usually beetles or moths.
- random officers of lower rank coming to sabotage him. even to the point of deciding they've compromised his devices or even put cameras in his room. these officers are swiftly dealt with
more under the cut this is getting long. but even if you don't read on please understand this is still a 35 year old working general. sure it causes occasional issues but in no way does it make him incompetent
Tumblr media
- delusions of kylo attempting to sabotage him are also frequent, but he's not exactly able to take kylo out in that fashion. though, it's led to more subtle attempts on ren's life and a lot of vitriol. (this also goes for the command circle in tros)
- after starkiller and the destruction of the supremacy, he hears the emergency alarms from both whenever it's too quiet. to the point where it's almost too loud to think
- any drinks handed to him are presumably poisoned. one faked courtesy sip and it's getting tossed. he's the only person who can handle his own belongings under the same logic with extremely rare exception.
- honestly at times he's convinced too that ren isn't exactly human. interpretations change at times but sometimes they're an angel, other sent to be his personal torture. but a manufactured being nonetheless
- while not exactly a delusion he gets unshakeable, lingering feelings of things happening. like premonitions that unless he takes very certain actions to prevent it something will go down.
- also auditory hallucinations of brendol and other abusers of his past. sometimes more or less vague, occasionally accompanied by fleeting shadows or phantom sensations.
- as a coping mechanism, hux also occasionally falls into the belief that he isn't human- more mechanical. not needing to eat, drink, sleep. this is a comfort to him until he crashes from some human need not being met
anyways. yeah have that

4 am ideas for an unconventional kylux a/b/o verse
-
Alphas are excluded from FO leadership. They're seen as lacking self-control, strategic thinking and, when pushed to the extreme, basic common sense.
Hot headed and even violent. They vie for power when in positions of even minor authority. They don't collaborate with others and instead try to take over. Power hungry. Unreasonable.
The FO allows alphas only in certain specific areas considered "grunt work". And even then, only under close supervision.
Hux is forced to hide his status as an alpha. Otherwise, he might lose his command and the respect of his crew. But sometimes, despite his best efforts, his bloodlust peak through: asking for his enemy's skull, his unprecedented ascension through the ranks, Brendol's death (justified). But he tells himself those aren't a break in his self-control. Only ambition, dedication...
-
Betas and omegas can reproduce perfectly fine together.
Most FO leaders are betas: collaborative, level headed. Cool under pressure.
About a quarter of the FO leaders are omegas. Excellent negotiators, perceptive, intuitive and protective of their own / their territory. They make spectacular diplomats and strategists.
-
Rae was the only one who didn’t look down on Hux when he presented. Saw his potential in spite of his biology. But she still knew he'd need to hide that part of himself to be taken seriously.
Brendol's comment about being "weak willed" was because he suspected Hux would grow up to be an alpha like his mother. Someone driven by instinct and unsuitable to carry Brendol's legacy.
-
Ren finds out about Hux and makes it his mission to break through Hux's self control. He wants to see Hux truly let go. Unhinged. Feral.
But maybe he's not entirely ready for what he gets.
tl;dr I just want to see the alphas be condescended to as little fragile creature who might implode at any second for once. Rather than omegas needing to be sheltered as if they can't take care of themselves.

time after time – chapter nineteen (armitage hux x reader)
Tumblr media
time after time masterlist
Summary: Hux is finally allowed to see you in the med bay
Warnings/Tags: gn!reader; set pre-TFA; medical settings and procedures; serious injuries; description of food preparation; let me know if I've missed anything!
Words: 2275
Author’s Note: I don't have a ton to say about this chapter today except that I threw in some tiny references to Hux's mother here! ☺️ for those who might be unaware: in canon, she is just referred to as a "kitchen woman" who presumably worked in the academy on Arkanis where Brendol was the commandant. in different things I write for Hux, I go back and forth about how much contact he had with her and how much he remembers her. as you'll see here, I leaned more into him not really remembering her, but maybe of having spent some time with her when he was very very young. I've been toying with the idea of writing a little backstory fic about her, since we know so little about her in canon, so we'll see if I end up doing that. anyway, i hope you enjoy this chapter!! 🥰🥰
As Hux had expected, he was placed on temporary medical leave. As the medical personnel certainly did not expect, he was in the med bay every day of that leave, waiting to see you. By the third or fourth cycle of his new routine, the medics would exchange meaningful glances and hushed whispers with each other when they saw him walk in. He ignored them easily.
He mostly sat in small unoccupied rooms, working on his datapad, or returned to his office when the head medic finally told him he wouldn’t be able to see you that day. He drafted new plans and designs, finding that much of his creative energy had returned. When he wasn’t waiting in the med bay or working in his office, he was attempting to master an entirely new skill: cooking.
He knew you would need to eat something eventually, and the idea that he might be the one to make that something for you caused an intoxicating thrill to run through him. You had cared for him so generously, now it was his turn to do the same for you. The only flaw in this plan was that Armitage quickly discovered that his skills were subpar at best. When he got to any point beyond reconstituting prep packs, he froze, unsure how to proceed to the next step. He designed complex starfighters and yet he couldn’t seem to tell the difference between one flavoring and another. After disposing of one more failed dish in the garbage, he leaned against the counter in his small kitchen area. He remembered the soup you had brought him the night he had come undone in your arms. Perhaps he was going into this with too lofty a goal. If he could learn to make just one thing, maybe that would be enough. It stung his pride a little to reign in his own ambitious aims, but knowing that it was for you tempered the blow.
He acquired a basic understanding of most of the common ingredients – at least the ones he could easily access aboard a Star Destroyer – and he set himself to the task of combining those ingredients until they at least resembled the soup you had shared with him. Any engineering project he undertook went through multiple drafting and trial stages before a final product was produced; he could work with the same process here. As he made minute changes to proportions – each meticulously measured and recorded for future reference – he began to experience a vague sense of familiarity with the actions of stirring and flavoring the dish. The hazy snippets were warm and welcoming, but he couldn’t quite place their origin. He tried to follow them though, letting the dreamlike almost-memories allow him to tip slightly more of one spice into the pot, or to add ingredients in a different order. After many repetitions and tiny adjustments, he had finally settled on a recipe with which he was satisfied. He saved it to his datapad for the moment when he would get to make it for you at last.
On one of his daily trips to the med bay, he was finally informed that he could see you. Anxiety pricked his steps as he followed the medic through the web of hallways and past many secure checkpoints. Hux had done relatively well at containing and silencing his most destructive thoughts, but he feared that seeing you in the med bay would only bring them to the forefront again as he was confronted with all the pain you were suffering. The medic showed him into a small room, where one of the walls contained a large window. Hux stepped up to the transparisteel, unsure what he would find beyond.
His breath caught in his throat as he recognized you immediately, despite the tubes and wires that bristled from you in every direction. You were lying on a cot, surrounded by machines and two medical droids. There were bacta patches scattered across your visible skin, each one no doubt covering a wound. A feeling of intense nausea swam through his stomach, and he reached out to brace himself against the edge of the window as he tried to steady his breathing.
“Sir, are you alright?” the medic asked nervously. Hux just nodded. He was far from alright, but he wasn’t going to let that stop him from finally being able to see you, even if just through the pane of transparisteel.
“You don’t have to go in if you would rather not,” the medic assured him. Hux instantly pushed himself back from the glass.
“Go in?” Hux had not realized that being in the same room with you was an option at this point. Even it was allowed, would he be able to do it?
“Yes,” the medic responded, flipping through his datapad, “it looks like the head medic has approved you for thirty-minute daily visits which may be conducted in person.” Hux’s heart jumped a little in his chest. He had not expected this. After days of nothing, he could have thirty minutes? Each cycle? Hardly long enough and yet so much more than he had anticipated. He hesitated, casting another glance through the window.
“Is the captain… responsive?” he asked haltingly. You looked much as you had when he had seen you in your quarters; like you were trapped in an uncomfortable sleep. The medic explained that you were still heavily sedated, and that you would be unlikely to respond to him. However, he assured Hux that you could probably still hear him, and that he would be allowed to touch you gently, even if you might not recall the things he said or remember that he had been there. Hux swallowed, indecisive.
Would you even want him there? Would you want him to see you like this? He looked through the window again, chewing absently on the inside of his cheek. Then he noticed your hands half-curled against the sheets, dotted with tiny bacta patches, and he found his fingers aching to hold them, to give you whatever small measure of comfort he was able to offer.
“Yes, I’d like to go in.”
“Right – follow me, sir.” The medic punched in a code on a control panel by a door leading into the interior room, and a soft buzzer sounded as the door slid open. Hux followed him, breath caught in his throat as the ambient medical noise of the room began to surround him. Machines whirred and hummed and there was a steady beeping that Hux soon realized was marking your heartbeat. He recalled the warm fluttering of your pulse against his lips as he kissed the bare skin of your inner wrist. This was worlds away from that. A sick panic shot through him, making his breathing unstable. No – he couldn’t afford to do that now, not when you needed him. He took a deep, slow breath to steady himself. You would get better, and he would be beside you the whole time.
The medic quietly dismissed the medical droids and pulled a chair up alongside your bed. Hux approached cautiously, immediately unsure what to do. He sank hesitantly into the chair, his breathing growing ever more shallow as he realized how close he was to you.
“I’ll be back in thirty minutes, sir,” the medic stated as he exited. The door hissed shut and suddenly Hux was alone with you. He couldn’t bear to look too long at your face, to see the cuts and bruises, some of which were covered by bacta patches. Mostly though, he couldn’t stand the barely perceptible expression of pain that lingered on your features. If he was going to be able to do this, he would have to focus on something else. He turned his attention to your hands. Slowly – so slowly he almost wasn’t sure he was moving at times – he reached his hand toward yours. His fingers barely ghosted over your skin, his breath leaving his lungs as he realized you were much colder than usual. Hux swallowed thickly. Was he allowed to do this? Would it hurt you somehow? The lights on the sensors continued to blink steadily, the beeping of the heartrate monitor remaining constant. He assured himself that if he did something wrong, the many machines would alert the medics. With a shuddering breath, he slipped his hand into yours, closing a gentle clasp around your fingers.
It wasn’t the same as when you could touch him back, happily intertwining your fingers with his, but it was still you. He glanced at your face briefly, and he was almost certain your expression had softened slightly. But that wasn’t likely – it was probably just his imagination. Scanning the room, he wasn’t sure what to do now. He feared if he sat in silence, the haunting proof of your injuries just inches from him, he would be consumed by the dark spiral of thoughts that threatened to pull him away from you. He couldn’t risk that. The medic had said you could probably still hear him – he needed to say something. He said the first thing that came to mind: your name. The sound of it was warm and sweet on his tongue.
“I missed you,” he said then. “And I’m so glad you’re okay.” Pinpricks of tension began to appear around the corners of his eyes. “I’m so… I’m so sorry you’re in pain, though.” He had to stop for a moment, pressing his free hand to his mouth to keep down his tears. This wouldn’t do – he had to be stronger than this. For you. He sucked in a steadying breath.
“I’m not sure if you can hear me, but I thought maybe I could tell you some things?” He hated the silence where your response should have been. Before he could drown himself in spiraling thoughts, he launched into a recounting of what had happened on board the Finalizer since the accident. He omitted anything about the blast though, knowing his own limits too well to think he would be able to relate those details with any level of composure. He also didn’t tell you about the plans he had constructed with Opan for the punishment of the miscreants who had hurt you – there were some things you were better off not knowing. Instead, he told you about his strangely cordial interaction with Peavey, the fact that he had promoted Hondrill – much to her shock, that they had put him on medical leave even though he saw no point to it, and how he had waited in the med bay every cycle to finally see you. He wasn’t sure whether he should mention that last part, fearing he might sound too… overbearing. But then he considered that you probably would have done the same for him, had your positions been reversed. Well, you probably would have done it the first time and not completely kriffed everything up. Hux grimaced slightly at the thought. But at least he was here now.
The medic returned promptly at the half hour mark to escort him from the room. Hux gave your hand a light squeeze and whispered a goodbye with the promise that he would be back next cycle. Hux realized just as he was about to leave the med bay that he should mention the possibility of an infection. Maybe they could catch it earlier this time.
“Have you checked for infections? Of the captain’s wound?” Hux turned to ask the medic, who looked at him with slight confusion.
“I’m not the attending medic, sir, so I’m not sure what tests have been run, but I’m sure they’re looking into all possibilities.”
“Of course – just… ask them to look.” Hux wasn’t sure if he had the authority to give orders within the bounds of medical procedures, but he made his tone as commanding as possible anyway.
“Yes, sir,” the medic responded before turning back and disappearing into the med bay. Hux lingered at the entrance, not feeling entirely reassured. Still, he comforted himself with the thought that he would be able to check on you once a day – not that he knew what he was looking for. He frowned. His next task would need to be gaining as much knowledge about the types of injuries you had sustained as possible.
Back in his quarters, he pulled up the data displays in his office, watched over by the little loth cat on his shelf. He began scrolling through pages of datafiles on deep wounds, blood loss, sutures, setting broken bones, and infections. This was work to which he was much more suited than cooking. He easily compiled the relevant information into notes, cross referencing things and making his own observations as necessary. He didn’t understand all of it – he wasn’t a trained medic after all – but he comprehended enough that he could at least make himself useful. He tried to approach this data gathering with as clinical a perspective as possible, knowing that was the only way he would be able to stomach some of the information. Every once and a while though, an image or a description would send a rush of nausea through him at the thought that you had experienced such a thing.
Despite the somewhat gory nature of the research he had conducted before attempting to rest, his dreams were exceedingly pleasant. He was holding your hand in the med bay, and you had woken up as he was speaking to you. The excitement on your face upon seeing him there was enough to have him smiling even as he continued to sleep.

𝐀𝐂𝐓 𝐎𝐍𝐄 : 𝐀 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐊 𝐈𝐍 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐊 … i've mentioned before that i feel the sequels as a whole had rushed pacing and very little payoffs in terms of characterization and worldbuilding. the following timeline is my attempt to fix the pacing, add in various lore and headcanons i've accumulated in my time writing finn, expand on various aspects of the worldbuilding and overall provide a stable ground in which interactions can be based off. without further ado — the beginning of my sequels rewrite !

four bby : brendol hux creates commandment's cadets, a secret society of handpicked infants, all raised to serve one goal : act as stormtroopers. brendol was inspired by the jedi's younglings. this squad, his child, and brendol himself would eventually move to observe the battle of jakku from the field.
one bby : the events of rogue one occur.
— a few empire loyalists recognize that the end of the empire is dawning before them. still loyal to the empire, still driven by the urge to rule, and as part of various contingency plans, they search for a planet beyond the rebel alliance's perspective and end up on jakku. among them are brendol hux, enric pryde and rae sloane. though without a name at the time, this would become the roots of the first order.
zero bby : the battle of yavin occurs. the death star is destroyed by the rebel alliance. it's known as victory day and eventually becomes a galactic-wide recognized holiday.
four aby : the battle of endor results in a ruined empire. the heroes of the galaxy rejoice, they party. all is well in the world. the party rages on for about three weeks, though the generals must balance their celebration with returning to work. leia organa worked closely with mon mothma to help bring stabilization to the galaxy in the form of the rebel alliance morphing into the new republic, a senatorial rule for the galaxy.
— han solo and leia organa are together, and in love. while he does occasionally dip his toes back into smuggling, he is quite busy working for the new republic in exporting goods, cargo, and people — displaced alderaanians, mostly. leia points, he goes. — luke takes time to mourn his father and eventually moves to create a new jedi order. he takes the task very seriously, making sure to read the old jedi texts, learning as much as he can about the previous jedi order and bettering what will become his new temple. luke is cautious, and dedicated to not making the same mistakes his forefathers did. there are several aspects of the old jedi teachings that he ignores : physical and emotional attachments make a jedi stronger, he believes, and anyone can train in the force. — luke begins to train his sister, leia, in the ways of the force as he knows how. she is strong in the force, dedicated, a fast learner, but ultimately does not accept the lightsaber presented for her. she’s pregnant, and knows that her destiny is going to lead her elsewhere. instead, she urges luke to actualize his dreams of a new academy for force sensitives, ushering in a new era of jedi.
ten aby : luke skywalker settles onto the planet ossus and opens the doors of his new jedi temple. his first class is small, only sixteen force sensitives to his one. their ages all vary, as does their connection to the force. they’re all there by choice, not because of demand. luke looks onto his academy with pride and joy.
twelve aby : the empire loyalists, now tentatively known as the first order, have begun exploring and researching sith legends due to rae sloane’s fanatic impulses. they stumble across readings of an eldritch horror named snoke, perhaps the personification of the dark side of the force itself. his power is mighty, his reach long. aspirations of total rule begin to rise and the order aligns themselves with snoke, intent on awakening this power.
fifteen aby : ben solo turns ten years old and his manipulation of the force is undeniable. he is strong, with the possibility of being stronger than his uncle luke, even. there is conflict within the boy, flipping moods faster than one can keep up with, an inner turmoil between doing the right thing and listening to his baser instincts. leia sends him to luke, to train. han disagrees, wondering if it wouldn’t be better for the boy to ignore the force overall.
seventeen aby : the first order, small but determined, have shrunk even further in size. several empire loyalists have been tried and condemned before the new republic, and those who’ve managed to escape legal consequences refute the first order’s attempts at restructure. sloane, hux, pryde, and the few remaining members of the commandment’s cadets remain loyal to their dreams of an empire. their loyalty is rewarded when they find the remnants of snoke. he was in a cryostatic state, and sloane alone understood how to wake the monster. with strict instructions to hux and pryde about the resurrection of the first order, sloane then enacted an ancient dark side ritual — exsanguination of her whole self in order to revive snoke. the ritual worked, to an extent. snoke, the eldritch horror with cosmic collapse for eyes, awoke … though not at his full power.
— snoke was revived as an essence and lacked an actual physical presence, though that hardly seemed to stop the dark being. it’s manipulation of the force allowed him to become a powerful ally for the first order, though it of course demanded total loyalty. hux and pryde readily agreed, both recognizing the power before them was catastrophic. with combined instructions from sloane and their new supreme leader, hux and pryde began working on building the first order’s forces.
eighteen aby : the first time ben solo heard snoke’s voice in his head was shortly after his thirteenth birthday. the boy would go on to struggle with those whispers for the rest of his life.
nineteen aby : using old contacts, pryde managed to secure sizable funding for the first order from old empire loyalists who were in hiding. it was enough financial support that the first order could relocate from exegol to the planet ilum — which, thanks to project resurrection ( a program in which first order forces would invade various small villages and towns on planets of the outer rim and kidnap infants to train as stormtroopers and officers ), was quickly repurposed and rebuilt into starkiller, the first order’s base of operations and first superweapon, capable of destroying entire star systems.
twenty - five aby : at twenty years old, with the promise of more knowledge and power than luke skywalker could provide, ben solo casted aside the light for dark. pledging himself to supreme leader snoke, the force in the back of his mind all these years, ben solo became kylo, a student of the dark, when he struck his uncle down. the jedi academy was torn apart, ben’s classmates given two choices : join, or die. of the sixteen original students, only five were spared with their lives. the rest died, and that was seemingly the end of luke skywalker’s jedi temple.
— word of the attack traveled fairly fast, though reports varied. the original general consensus was that the academy was attacked, luke and the students died defending their lives. it was only after ben solo, now declaring himself kylo, appeared before his mother on chandrila, during one the new republic senate meetings, and renounced the new republic, spurning it’s aspirations of peace. kylo then attacked the attending members of senate, accompanied by his peers, an ancient group called the knights of ren. leia and most members managed to survive the chaos, as the attack was not organized, but it was enough to unsettle the galaxy.
twenty - seven aby : kylo and the knights of ren began to make waves across the galaxy as they stormed various planets, intent on hunting force sensitives. once found, the force sensitive was given two choices : join, or die. the knights left destruction and corpses in their wake and the new republic forces had, for the first time since the empire, an enemy to handle. however, as force sensitives around the galaxy were hunted, killed or converted, and with luke skywalker assumed dead ( leia organa refusing to give an affirmative either way ), there was seemingly and distressingly no hope of defeating the crazed dark siders.

Day 1 tarot and fortune telling for @huxloween
Some people believe in the Force, some in the Gods, and some in fortune. Some people believe in nothing and some belive only in themselves.
The people of Arkanis believed in cards. Traditions of fortune-telling from cards were wildly popular and respected even among the most educated Arkanisians aristocrats. And even though Brendol Hux believed only in himself, when his son was old enough to remember, he invited one of the fortune-tellers. Armitage remembered her as a woman not old but not young either, with the deck of shiny metal cards. He did not believe in any of this, and yet he was curious.
This meeting was imprinted in his mind, because after the vague prophecies he expected, like great fortune, future pain and victory, and all that, the woman grabbed his wrist and said:
"There will be times in your life when some will hesitate. Do not hesitate, Armitage. "
And Hux didn't. He did not hesitate when he was planning Brendol’s death, he did not hesitate when Starkiller needed a commander, he did not hesitate when Hosnian needed to be sacrificed, he did not hesitate when Kylo Ren stormed into his life like a hurricane, turning it around and making him question everything he knew, he did not hesitate when Snoke asked him to have an eye on Ren, he did not hesitate when he was writing reports on Kylo's behavior while they were sleeping in the same bed.
He hesitated only once, when Kylo Ren was kneeling before him, unarmed, defeated, crushed by Snoke's powers and words.
"Very well, General. You proved your loyalty. You are far more useful to me than him. Kill him and take your rightful place as Grand Marshall of the First Order." Hux was standing with his blaster ready to use, but he did not move, "General. It would be a shame to hesitate now, don't you think? Great things lie ahead."
Hux switched on his blaster and, looking at Kylo, he shot. He didn’t hesitate, the blaster bolt went clean through Snoke's head. Ren, freed from a force grip, took his sword and slashed his master in half. Just to be sure. They were standing next to each other, Kylo breathing heavily and trying to collect himself and Hux with a blank face looking at Snoke’s body.
After a short moment he kneeled down to pick up something from the floor.
"Hux?" Kylo glanced at him, feeling the disturbance in Hux's mind.
The general was staring at the shiny metal card. He breathed out slowly, realizing in terror that the rest of the deck was lying around Snoke's body, on the red-stained floor.

As one of the five Counts, Poe seems to be sought after - first Gavin, now Brendol. Fortunately a military sim passing by is easy to explain:
Commandant Brendol Hux leads the siege of Detroit. He was allowed into the city for negotiations.
Tumblr media
Only problem: Brendol seems to need a refresher what "negotiation" entails.
Tumblr media
Brendol: "The cyborg crisis is just a small problem that will be solved shortly."
Tumblr media
Yeah, should have seen this coming. Poe is almost as sensitive about his height (or lack thereof) as Gavin (who is a tad bit taller).
Tumblr media
Poe: "That was for Armi! Now move your carcass out of my sight! - Lt. Reed, escort the Commandant back to the barricades! We'll welcome diplomats again once the humans have evolved a little."

So what made you such a Hux fan?
going to make two assumptions here that one you're asking about brendol and not armitage or maratelle, and two that you're asking this in good faith so i'll answer it the same, lol. brendol is precisely the type of character i'm drawn to: he's exceedingly layered, byronic, narratively unconventional in his grotesquerie of flaws and philias, and he's got a mysteriously domestic relationship with my numero uno, the grand inquisitor. brendol, when we are first introduced to him in secret academy, is an instant peculiarity: he runs an unconvential yet successful imperial academy set in a world straight out of a daphne du maurier novel, he's outwardly warm, kind, and charming to his cadets, he throws an intimate little gathering for one of the most powerful and highest ranking members of the empire...and then bickers with him at a table for two, unintimidated by the ire he might inspire by chiding the grand inquisitor like a fretted wife. his secret machinations, which are being investigated by tarkin (et al?), to create an army of children who are loyal to him from birth (like he claimed was jedi praxis) is fascinating insight into his character; he's someone who values and prioritizes loyalty (mind you, the guy who steps out on his wife) and personal safety to the detriment of his own position in the empire. he's a risk taker, he risked a court martial for not only breaking chain of command, but attempting to resurrect any cultural/philosophical merit from the jedi order. he is very rehearsed, choosing his words carefully, for instance the word family is only used by him once and in the context of what he wants cadets and stormtroopers to see the empire become. is it a manipulation tactic to inspire sympathy and relatability (in phasma his words are described as "pretty" and his motives "too pure"), is it a sincere desire for connection and community, one he has total dominion over, but a family all the same? it's both, because like all good creations spawned from horror, lines are intended to blur. i do think he had a rough childhood, his personal relationship to violence is evidence of that. he abuses armitage, he is aroused by being abused himself, he uses children as tools to commit acts of violence and murder, and he desires to be used as a tool by those who are more powerful and capable than himself. he wears his charisma and prepotency like a mask, but desperately desires someone just clock him square in the face and shatter it. he is lonely; he is a lonely narcissistic sadomasochist who salves his loneliness with cruelty. he hates his own son, but he loves his adoptees. he loves potential, he loves malleability. when he sees armitage he is forced to face himself in his most base form: weak, spineless, effete. when he looks at archex he sees what he has risen above. but it is all artifice. he is still that boy, tail between his legs, hiding behind a commandant. phasma describes him as a different man behind closed doors, which we see with his infidelity, his abuses, his joy at being beaten into submission, his behavior when he doesn't know zare is watching him, when he promises cadets he will turn the empire into a facsimile of family, when he and gallius whisper plans for supplanting the old way with the new. i love characters that doth protest too much, i love when authenticity must be pried free like a pearl in a clamped up shell. brendol is awful, and the narrative owns it, there are no justifications for his ills, but it also affords him depth for those happy to plunder his polarities.

[ REGULATIONS LOADING .... ]
[ x ] hi! i'm christa! welcome to my humble star wars multimuse blog. it's a mix of canon and oc characters. this blog is low + sporadic activity because my work schedule is wild. english is not my first language. please be patient.
[ writing + following ]
[ x ] most of the muses on my blogs are villains so please remember mun =/= muse. i don't agree with their personal or political beliefs. a lot of my muses are shitty people. and so is the first order. i'm just writing them as antagonists to the plot.
[ x ] i only write threads if we are both following each other. anyone can send asks but please be respectful. i only write with people 20 or over.
[ x ] don't godmod or meta game. general rp etiquette is expected. i used small texts, formatting and icons. but you can do whatever. i don't care. i like plots and winging it. i'm good with both.
[ x ] standard DNI applies. don't be creepy. don't force threads or rush for replies. if you're a trump supporter, xenophobic, ableist, homophobic, transphobic, a zionist or show gross behavior in general i will block on sight. i don't rp an taboo topics and will block for that stuff.
[ x ] no drama please. i don't care what people ship or what they are into. curate your own space and will do that to mine. there is no reason to police blogs when the block button exists.
[ triggers + content ]
[ x ] star wars is a story about war so there will be violence, injury, death present in my threads, including other dark themes. please be aware and keep yourself safe. all standard triggers will be tagged.
[ x ] nsfw or sexual content will be tagged. i don't have any triggers. if you have a trigger that i did not tag you can ask me and i'll try to accommodate.
[ x ] some of my villains are irredeemably cruel but others are more gray.this blog explores the idea that not all soldiers are bad people and that not everyone on the wrong side of a war is a complete villain. If you do not approve of this then please do not follow.
[ ships + dynamics ]
[ x ] i love ships! enemies, lovers, found family, whatever! __i only ship with chemistry so please don't force ships on me.__ or assume ships. especially for family ships. but if you're feeling something just ask.
[ x ] fyi most of my muses are pretty toxic so ships with then won't be the healthiest. be prepared for that.
[ x ] phasma is canonically ace. i write her as asexual and aromatic. ships with her are rare and need lots of development. when she does have a relationship she prefers women.
[ x ] affiliates are muses who have lore mixed with mine. ==mains== are people i have deep plots with. i don't do calls. if we plot a lot i will ask you to be mine or you can ask me.
[ about my lore + muses ]
[ x ] a lot of my lore for mitaka was built with acharnemcnt. their hux and my mitaka's backgrounds are connected so they are my exclusive hux for now.
[ x ] tanyn ren's lore is mixed with the other knights in my affiliates. you don't have to follow all of us to write with tanyn but his background is based off of group lore and not the movies.
[ x ] my lore for my muses is inspired from the books and some of the comics and built from headcanons. some parts are very divergent from the movies

Mandoverse Thrawn Campaign Theories and Hopes
Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire confirmed that the Unknown Regions Imperial Remnant took most of the remaining ISDs in the Imperial Navy. I wonder if we could see the Thrawn Campaign involve every remaining main galaxy ISDs left in IR hands. An alternative is that the UR IR committed their ISDs to Thrawn's Campaign, and the New Republic destroyed most of them, so it took the First Order till TFA to begin another campaign.
Rae Sloane could appear as the Supreme Leader or Counselor of the Empire. This could make her appear in Mandoverse while still referring to Thrawn as the "last Grand Admiral." I really want to see her and Thrawn interact.
The image of Thrawn commanding the Eclipse is terrifying. The Ravager at Jakku wasn't even commanded by the best tacticians, and it still managed to inflict heavy casualties, so imagine the last SSD in the hands of Thrawn. Ackbar fighting Thrawn would go so hard.
I wonder if we'll see a Clone army raised by Brendol Hux. It would also be cool if they reuse the FO Stormtrooper concept art for the IR Stormtrooper army.
I really do hope we get to see Bothans and Starhawks in the movie. If we don't get Starhawks, then what as the point of this NR-IR war haha.
I hope we get to see the Jedi lead NR forces. I also wonder if we might see Snoke but that's least likely, but it would begin to lay the seeds for Snoke's takeover of the future First Order.
The delusional part of me wants Elio Vanto to make a cameo haha.

Chapter Summary
The Knights of Ren visit the Kuat Drive Yards; young Dade navigates the decrepit streets of Coruscant under the First Order’s oppressive rule; Chancellor Hux and the Supreme Council meet with the Warlord Cabal...
Excerpt
From his cushy office in the Capitol, Chancellor Armitage Hux watched with some satisfaction as the crowds below dispersed. It would be a quiet few days thanks to their swift action on Kuat. An execution always the best means of control, for a fearful populace was a compliant populace-- something his father both knew and appreciated. If only Brendol Hux could see him now. Armitage had accomplished more in his life at just thirty-six years of age than his father ever did during his accursed lifetime. Hux caught a glimpse of himself in the transparisteel and scowled. Premature grey streaked his once flaming red hair at the temples, giving him a resemblance to his father that was both uncanny and unwelcome. Still, he refused to dye it and he even smoothed it back, making sure it was presentable. He considered himself the true leader of the First Order, and a good leader led by example. The pit of Hux’s stomach churned with hate for Kylo Ren. Ren’s hair was the furthest thing from regulation. A small detail, to be sure, but details mattered, and this one represented everything Hux hated about Ren. He was the exception to everything. Outside the rules. Disordered. While Ren and his mongrel Knights gallivanted across the galaxy in search of the Jedi and their assorted kin of conjurers and soothesayers-- wasting the First Order’s time and resources-- Hux remained on Coruscant, keeping order and administrating. Their rebirth as an Empire had been achieved according to his design, not that overgrown man-child with a laser sword! When Hux finally took his rightful place as Supreme Leader, the first thing he’d do was make Ren cut off his hair. Or simply remove his head with the hair still attached. Boot heels clicking against the polished floor alerted him that he was no longer alone. “Chancellor? The Cabal requests a word with the Supreme Council," came the voice of his second in military command, General Enric Pryde. Hux’s face crumpled in distaste. Still, he followed the general down the hall to the War Room. "I trust the mission to Mustafar went smoothly, General Pryde?" asked Hux with a hint of sarcasm in his voice. Pryde's lip curled. The older man had arrogant blue eyes and a high hairline that seemed immune to perspiration. "Yes, Chancellor. Leader Ren had opted to take the last leg of the journey to Exegol alone, however." Hux scoffed. “He’s gone mad,” the Chancellor said, the contempt in his voice obvious even to his own ears. “Flames of rebellion burn across the galaxy, and Ren chases a ghost.”
