So here’s the latest Twitter Thing™ going on:
Tumblr media
But there’s something Xringelord Musk seems to have overlooked in his pathetic attempt to stop people shutting his dumbass up: And it’s this Apple App Store guideline:
Tumblr media
It’s only a matter of time before Apple chops that app. Between the nazis, the verified csam accounts, and now this. This just keeps getting more and more entertaining.

i don't know why i feel compelled to send this in an ask BUT one of my absolute favorite things about your blog is the fact that it feels like a time capsule of like, 2013-2015 tumblr. the mix of art, fashion, memes, political posts, and just the general style of blog curation is so different from most newer blogs/newer tumblr user's style (not to say this in a bad way, of course, hyperfixation posting and hyperfixation posting *only* is the only thing keeping me sane) and it ends up feeling very comforting and oddly nostalgic. love it, keep it up, you are a very beloved mutual and friend to me. <3
If there’s one thing I love, it’s a delightfully uplifting Ask from a dear friend! Thank you so much @saxonism for this most welcome affirmation of how I curate my blog. This is a pretty spot-on description of the approach I’m going for here!
One of the things I love most about Tumblr is seeing each user do their blog their way. A “hyperfixation 24/7” approach absolutely has its own charms! That prior era of Tumblr though was very formative for me as a reader; I wasn’t actively blogging then myself but was definitely crystallizing my sense of how I’d use the platform if I did run a blog of my own.
I also find it helpful for a variety of reasons to blog about both the terrible guy and things other than the terrible guy…
Historically I’ve struggled with treating fandom like the hobby it was always supposed to be, rather than another job. My tendency to professionalize things—constant work was all I knew for a long time as a matter of survival, but it also goes deeper than that—has threatened my joy more times than I care to count. I was finding myself pressed for time, or outright bereft of time, for other hobbies that matter to me. And just feeling like I was losing touch with the life I’ve put so much thought and energy into building.
Spending more time on Tumblr as I’ve regrouped a bit has helped me remember what matters most in fandom: having fun. A big part of that for me is leaning into friendships that make me feel glad to be myself.
Seeing you on my dash and in my Ask box always brings a big smile even when I’m more scarce than usual on Discord. I’m entirely aflutter to know that my blog is bringing some welcome vintage joys from a favorite era of Tumblr as it dispenses one (1) randy Redcoat at regular intervals! And I’m very glad, now and always, to be your friend and mutual.

If every website under the sun is gonna throw my browsing history into The Algorithm™ to surface posts I couldn't give a single shit about, they could at least have the common courtesy to 1. surface the reason why they think I might give a shit about a post, and VERY crucially, 2. anthropomorphize the algorithm. I don't care if they make it the most toothless, soulless, branding-friendly absolute flop of a mascot, I just need an entity I can pretend I'm subjecting to the Horrors.

That's what kept me out of TikTok.
I tried it. It IMMEDIATELY found out everything I liked. Then showed me FUCKLOADS of ONLY those videos.
It was kind of scary. I have never lost 40 minutes THAT FAST.
idk if this is a contreversial take or not but i think that the ideal internet experience is being able to remove specific things (triggers, nsfw, gore) if you truly dont want to see them but overall being also shown things you aren’t interested in. i think one of my fave things about tumblr is seeing like 50% of my dash be about fandoms im not in, bands i dont like and quotes from books i dont want to read rather than this endless feedback loop of tiktok showing me ‘exactly what i want to see’ in a trap to keep me online as long as possible and blind to communities outside of my own. i want a mix of curating my own experience and a healthy dose of content i don’t already know i want to see, yknow?

Hey AI, Are You Telling Google About Me?
A Personal Dive Into the Algorithmic Mirror It started with a simple, almost paranoid question—but one that feels increasingly valid in the age of digital surveillance: “Do you report cookies to Google or is it just my phone/browser doing so? Because often times I’ll talk to you about something and a short while later I’ll see an ad or video for it.” That question wasn’t rhetorical—it came…

The decisions made by streaming platforms affect everything from viewer choices to societal trends. Let’s explore the ethical concerns behind curating content and its broader impact.

Substack Mastery for Busy Writers [Concise Version]: Insider Secrets from a Content Strategist & Seasoned Author 🎉
Dear reader, this is the summary of the original and popular Substack Mastery book, which I condensed five times, removing generic content and long descriptions and offering a distilled version to busy writers. I designed this short book to save you time while still giving valuable insights and practical tips.
In this book, I share my experience of how Substack became a powerful tool for digital content creation, marketing, and distribution. Writing this book felt like solving a puzzle. I wanted to give writers and creators a clear path through the noise and competition of online publishing.
With over 40 years of experience in content development, strategy, and marketing, I’ve seen many struggle to find their footing in digital publishing. This book isn't just theoretical fluff. It's packed with hands-on insights based on my own experiences, including how I grew my Substack to 30,000 subscribers.
I’ve always believed the publishing world needed more practical, real-world guidance. Through this book, I aim to help freelance writers and content entrepreneurs develop their voices, grow their audiences, and turn their newsletters into a sustainable business. Whether it's finding your unique perspective, creating content that connects, or building an income stream, this guide covers it all.
The book is autobiographical, rooted in my experiences, triumphs, and failures. It's designed to be actionable and inspiring, with strategies to make your mark in the content world. And, as a bonus, readers get the chance to join my supportive community of writers.
I am here to empower you with practical advice, share my lessons learned, and help you build something extraordinary if you are wilting to do so and ready to start.
It is now available in multiple online bookstores at half the price of the original.

I blocked someone for being annoying serious on an unserious post, and now two other people are disagreeing with that original person. They don't know I blocked the annoying person, which means they can no longer reblog the post and defend themself. As a result, I'm forced to bear witness to all this via my activity box, like:

Boost Your Income by Integrating AI Tools into Your Marketing Plan
Boost Your Income by Integrating AI Tools into Your Marketing Plan
In the fast-paced world of online marketing, staying ahead of the competition is crucial. Juggling multiple tasks while managing time efficiently sounds like a pipe dream for many marketers. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the marketing landscape, making it possible to achieve more, in less time, and ultimately boost income. This isn’t some far-flung sci-fi concept—AI is here, and it’s transforming how marketers work.
Streamline Your Workflow
Imagine having a virtual assistant that organizes your tasks, schedules posts, and analyzes data all in one go. AI tools like Trello boards augmented with AI can prioritize tasks based on deadlines and project requirements. Tools such as Asana and Monday.com employ AI to provide smart recommendations and automate routine tasks, freeing up valuable time for strategic planning and creative thinking.
Content creation, a core aspect of marketing, can immensely benefit from AI. Platforms like Copy.ai and Jasper use natural language processing to draft everything from blog posts to social media updates. This means less time staring at a blank screen and more time refining strategy and engaging with audiences. I do have a range of AI Apps I use myself in my own Online Marketing business - you can view those at RandysApps - which now has a collection for most requirements.
Enhance Customer Engagement
Engagement is key to retaining customers and keeping them interested in your brand. AI-powered chatbots like Drift and Intercom can handle customer inquiries 24/7, ensuring that no customer feels ignored. These chatbots understand natural language, provide personalized responses, and gather data to make future interactions even smoother.
Beyond chatbots, AI tools can segment your audience and personalize marketing campaigns efficiently. Tools like Mailchimp and HubSpot employ machine learning to analyze customer behaviors and tailor email campaigns that resonate with individual preferences. Personalized marketing doesn't just increase engagement—it translates to higher conversion rates and, consequently, more income.
Optimize Advertising Efforts
Artificial Intelligence takes the guesswork out of advertising. Programmatic advertising platforms use AI algorithms to automatically buy ad space that targets your ideal customer demographics. This means you reach the right audience at the right time with the right message, thereby maximizing your return on investment.
Google Ads and Facebook Ads both incorporate AI to optimize ad placement and budget allocation. With features like automated bidding and performance analysis, you can ensure that every cent spent on advertising is working towards your goals. Enhanced targeting and smart budget allocation mean better ad performance and higher revenue.
Data-Driven Decision Making
The amount of data available to marketers today is staggering, but AI can make sense of this data. Analytical tools like Google Analytics and Tableau use machine learning algorithms to interpret vast datasets, offering insights that would take human analysts much longer to uncover. These insights can inform every aspect of your marketing strategy, from content creation to campaign optimization.
Predictive analytics is another game-changer. Tools like Salesforce Einstein and IBM Watson can forecast customer behaviors based on historical data, allowing you to anticipate trends and adjust your strategies proactively. This forward-thinking approach not only keeps you ahead of the curve but also ensures a steady stream of income.
Improve ROI with AI Automation
The ultimate benefit of AI in marketing is the ability to do more with less. By automating repetitive tasks, providing deep customer insights, and optimizing every aspect of your campaigns, AI tools empower you to make smarter decisions and achieve better results. The time and resources saved can be reinvested into other areas of your business or into refining your marketing efforts further.
Turning to AI tools doesn't mean a loss of human touch in your marketing; instead, it enhances your ability to connect with your audience in meaningful ways. The decisions become smarter, the strategies become sharper, and the results become more tangible.
Embrace the Future Today
The integration of AI tools into marketing strategies is no longer a luxury but a necessity. As competition becomes fiercer, those who leverage AI will find themselves not just surviving but thriving. Embrace AI today, and watch your productivity soar and your income multiply.

What should be the percentage of content curation and creation in our marketing mix?
According to my research:
Percentage of content creation: 80 (once content is created and published, the heavy focus should be on content distribution, including content repurposing).
Percentage of content curation: 20
Pro-Tip: Use AI and content curation tools to enhance your content performance and generate ideas for future content creation. Make sure to do a human check as necessary.
