I'm not really a huge fan of that song "Can't Remember to Forget you" by Shakira and Rihanna (or of them either lol) but there aren't a lot of good female duet songs... most are either one of them is singing and the other is rapping... or one sings more than the other... and this is one of the few tracks where it seems like both singers have equal parts to sing in the song and they both have good voices (not like one is more vocally talented than the other)... it's not like one is doing more singing in the song while the other has a very small part in it in the middle... that's why I selected it to cover with my friend who currently seems to be working at a choir herself lmao. I don't mind it being a reggae/soft rock song (I'm into reggae at times...)

I never realized how very few female duets there are out there until my friend suggested I look for a duet song for us to record...

I used to listen to Celine Dion growing up and remember she had one duet with Barbara Straisand "Tell Him" - but that's way too hard for my humble vocal capabilities (I know you can lower the key of the song but still... also I didn't want it to be a sad ballad). The other I knew about was Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston "When You Believe" which I barely ever heard or paid attention to but it's similar to Celine and Barbara - a powerhouse diva ballad...

The other very good female duets I could think of (from more recent years) is Beyonce and Shakira - Beautiful Liar, Lady Gaga and Beyonce - Telephone and Video Phone, Pink and Lily Allen - True Love (but Lily has a small part in middle of the song)... Britney and Madonna - Me against the music but Madonna has a very little part in that song too... All the rest are just a female rapper and female singer mainly... and I'm looking for something where they both sing, equal parts of the song, they aren't the most gifted singers (like Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey) and it's a fast fun song (not a ballad)...

I'm not saying I listened to all these songs, I'm a fan or know them well... I just did research because my friend asked me to pick a female duet song for us to cover and realized that there aren't a lot at all tbh... or they aren't very good songs to begin with (kinda generic and mediocre).

This is actually a piece I finished a few months ago; I had wanted to experiment with a more solid line brush, color palettes, and cropped compositions, and I figured doing an album-cover-style piece would be good practice for it! I meant to post it back when i finished it in June, because I'm honestly super proud of how it came out! But i just never got around to it— super happy I get to share it with you all now :]
