Random thought, but a growing baby blanket would be such a cute idea!

Example:

You start with the pink square for a baby, then once the child is a toddler you add the blue. For child sized add green, and then finally yellow for a full adult sized blanket. (Colours are just for show)

You could even make each square symbolic in colour and pattern and make a kind of very rough history blanket! Or if crochet/knitting isn't your thing, maybe quilting would work?

I know if someone had taken the time to grow my own personal blanket for me I would make it a family heirloom on the spot.

I don't know yet if it's the best or worst idea I've had, but I'm looking at crocheting a blanket this year. Either of the cover of the Silmarillion, or a granny square of either the family crests or squares themed after each chapter or character. It should be noted that I know a single stitch and have finished a total of 4 projects the 6 years I've been knitting and crocheting. Let's see where this takes me.

I’m thinking about how the Mechs use energy, because they do things and live and therefore they *must* use energy, that’s how physics (and biology) work.

I had the idea that they are always absolutely frigid to the touch because they suck in heat from the environment like an endothermic chemical reaction.

if you know you're going to be crocheting later in the day, you can tuck the crochet hook against your skin (I put it in my bra, have a friend who tucks it into her waistband at the small of her back) and have it warm up that way

That's a good idea, I just so happen to be a very... messy person who just leaves my hooks in the middle of projects. I'm crocheting a hook holder as a stand-in, though because my other hooks are.... laying on my nightstand loose 💀
