If you like R+L=J fics, this is probably right up your alley, though the J part spends this fic as a baby. This is an AU where Aerys marries Rhaegar and Lyanna together to prevent any rebellion from the North. It’s got Enemies to Friends to Lovers in spades and I adore it. Lyanna does come off as very childish and some of her decisions really drive me nuts, but it fits with the premise so I can let it slide. It also has an unfinished sequel that hasn’t been updated in like a year which really puts a damper on things, but I still really think this is worth the read!

what are your thoughts on rhaegar and lyanna

in canon? im pretty neutral, i feel like there’s not really enough information to hardline say what kind of relationship they had. if there’s good writing/art ill probably enjoy it no matter what relationship it depicts

as far as my person feelings/headcanons go though ive always been a huge fan of crossfirehurricanes fics on ao3, and as a result tend to like a ‘complicated’ relationship between the two of them, leaning more towards rheagar getting some karmic retribution because he was a 24 year old man who made some very questionable choices lol. rhaegar and lyanna initially just using each other for their own goals and then developing feelings and then rheagar get to feel like shit when she dies? great. them starting off star-crossed lovers ish but then lyanna gets pissed that she’s low key trapped in a tower and cucks him with ser arthur. fantastic, hilarious, he deserves it. aus where they both live but things play out so they don’t actually end up together and there’s weird feelings there? could very well have happened, if it’s good writing i like it.

How did you come up with the ideas for your fics, and how do you plan them out? Like, I love alliterate timeline fics, since it gives the writers a lot of freedom to play around with cool scenarios, such as your All of Us Honorable, or The Last Serving Daughter, or crossfirehurricane's Queen of Winter, King of Fire (sadly on indefinite hiatus) or RoweenaJAugustine's Price of Our Sins. But while those two focus on established characters and OCs, yours take characters that only exist in 1/2

... in family trees. I had no clue who Branda Star was, I just stumbled onto All of Us Honorable (and I'm very happy I did, it's the best ASOIAF fic I've read). Do throw a dart at a family tree and say "I can work with that!"? And seeing as you release chapters every week, how do you plan them out and when you start releasing chapters, are you already done with the story?

I do like family trees and I would often rather use a character from a family tree who hasn’t been explored than to create another OC. I think there are a lot of potentially interesting plots to be found in the family trees if you look hard enough. There’s only so many fics you can write about the Starks or Lannisters. When I start releasing chapters I usually have at least five written in advance, and the entire fic (loosely) outlined.
