tagged by @tackrusso for this!
last song - the Gary Clark jr. version of come together iykyk
favorite color - blue, but neon green is inching towards the top spot. not bc of that one album I just think it's fun
last book - world war 3.0 by ken auletta. nonfiction book about Microsoft in the late 1990s. wildly outdated atp bc it came out in 2001 but i wanted to read it purely bc the title was funny
last movie - idr lol. i think I rewatched Godzilla Minus One a little bit ago.
last TV show - severance
sweet/savory/spicy - savory
relationship status - yeah I got nothing going on (2)
last thing I googled - apparently just "runescape" zero embellishment. i was trying to remember the name of an MMORPG I played when I was like 10
looking forward to - the end of a couple big projects at work. I've been swamped since mid December basically
current obsession - really video game themed post rn but I got myself subnautica for Christmas and man is it eating up my hours lol. also having another biennial cubeworld relapse
whoever wants to do this go ahead

when i was a kid there was an app called like cubeworld or something, and it had a bunch of minigames to play. but my favorite was the one where you just kinda stood around on a beach and sometimes jet-skied around. my preferred method of playing was to walk up to the people typing shit like "free gf" or, more often, the ones roleplaying kissing and whatnot, and just standing in between them. they used to get so mad every single time it was nonstop fun. i didn't even say anything i just stood there 🧍‍♂️

your political values don't matter if you didn't either hold a deep longing in your chest for at least two of these or already had at least two of them when you were younger.

Rubik's Cube in the 80s in its home country in Budapest, Hungary Title below: Rubik Cubeworld The greatness of this Magic Cube (original name) invented by Ernő Rubik, is that you would need 1 371 512 026 715 years to test every move, one move per second in 24/7. In this amount of time not only our planet Earth but the whole Universe would vanish. So it is really Magic in our digital (computer based) world as well. #rubikscube #ernorubik #designobject #cubeworld #digitalworld #culturetrip #designhistory #mrrubik #endlessopportunities #magiccube #bűvöskocka (at Budapest, Hungary) https://www.instagram.com/p/CCJpPKlJmI7/?igshid=1b1vllspxx35h

A quick testament to CubeWorld, a game my brother and I played years and years ago in it’s Alpha state.
Tomorrow, the game will be officially released on Steam, and I can’t wait to play it again!

The past week has been a whirlwind of Too Many Games as we sit down and chronicle the legend of Cubeworld, Nintendo’s poor mobile game strategies, bad dating sims, and the possible mob front that are the Frogwares Shelock Holmes games. It's the debauchery hour(s) and it is prime with gacha!

An explanation of my ‘cubeworld’ tag:
When I was in my pre-teen and younger teen years, I really enjoyed drawing cubes and filling pages with cubes.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I started using the ‘cubeworld’ tag on this blog when I had the idea of doing some kind of creative project involving cubes and so wanted to collect things I thought could be inspiration for it.
Going through the tag on my blog now, some recurring themes I notice are:
art with cubes, of course
fragmentary/collage-like art like quilts made of very different pieces or a drawing that's made of pieces of drawings from various settings
as well art of city scapes, which inherently has some level of emphasis on rectangular shapes
art focused on stairs, similar emphasis on rectangular shapes
and shapes in an abstract place/without a setting
photography focused on technology like curcuit boards and old and clunky but simply designed stuff
what I’ve dubbed 'portals' art- art of some type of setting that has a look into another setting like through a window or underneath it only visible to the viewer, or a world within a snowglobe, ect.
art focused on houses, particularly art that has a unique way of framing the different rooms, for example multiple pieces that show a home from the side after it's been cut in two
art about constructed settings- like photography of dollhouses and play stages
achitectural art, like building planning drawings, which can get pretty complex
yet also a lot of the art that leans more towards simplicity with solid shapes and stark lines
like art with heavy forshortening in a way that highlights lines
also art with a lot of repetition of shapes and lines
and creative writing with repitition
creative writing with unique page formatting for the words
creative writing that incorporates diagrams or shapes in some way
creative writing as an interview transcript or some kind of other formal format being repurposed for creative work
This is pretty much all I have right now in the development of this concept. No story, no characters, no subject, not even a chosen medium. Just some collected vibes.
