First of all, no, no it’s not. “Fictional people fans think should kiss” could not be more abstracted from real life. Get some fuckin perspective, mate.

Second of all, let’s be real here. You just don’t like it. It’s okay to just not like things, or to even be squicked by them. You don’t have to make up reasons why it’s actually bAaAaAaD. You can just go “it squicks me. Next!”

Thirdly, if your issue really is “I believe the very concept to be disrespectful to adopted families” there’s an easy fix for this.

The obvious solution?

Make them all blood related.

Boom. No more issues with “adopted vs. blood related family” anymore!

So let me get this straight:

there's a fucking tropical storm on the fucking WEST COAST, not only in California, but headed straight through LA where Hollywood is on strike with the WGA and SGA

Also going straight into death valley and Las Vegas, about to drop more rain in one day than they usually get in a year

Canada and the Pacific Northwest is on fire (when has it not been, honestly) and here in the midwest we have an air quality alert (feels like this has been going on for over a year now)

the midwest is going through one of the worst (and record-breaking) heatwaves I've ever seen (every single day this week is projected to be over 100, i don't think i've ever seen this in my lifetime)

we have human-induced global warming to thank for all of this, we are literally setting ourselves on fire

Not to be negative-Nancy (yes i know there are good things happening in the world too), but seriously, what the fuck is going on???

what can we really do to stop the horrors, now? which billionaire's house can we raid, who do we have to kill do get anything done in this world???

while i'm blogging about fanfiction on tumblr dot com for the first time in a while i'll also say i hadn't realized how much of my Energies were tied up in like actual WIPs that were actually in progress - other than the lil settings week fic i did all four of the stories i've posted this year were things where i had the whole concept outlined mentally or for real and at least some of it written/very well defined in my head going into the year. i've been sort of scattered mentally lately and it's been hard to latch on to the next Project when all the available options are, like, solely in the brainspaces and not yet in a place where i feel like i can chip away at them in 20-minute increments on the train which is how a lot of writing has been getting done this year. but we are visiting family starting tomorrow and i am taking like a week and a half off of working and am hoping to be able to use some of that time to hammer out some blueprints for the next phase! and it is kind of nice to think maybe i will be planning out the help i'm alive epilogue in the same place where i sat down and made a color-coded calendar-determined outline of damage control three summers ago :)

it is just that i have been telling myself allll the things to calm me down (theyre just like that because they're sad, it has nothing to do with you, you know its wrong dont let it affect you or they win, etcetcetc) for twenty fucking years and i am SICK of it. but there is nothing i can do to stop people who have more power than me from using it to harass insult and injure me so i just have to take their shit and pretend i like it. awesome.
