Old Tumblr Dashboard (Userstyle)!!
I created a Userstyle for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old look!
You need to have Stylus installed. So if you don't have it:
Install the Stylus Firefox Addon or the Manifest V2 Chrome Extension (You can install Chrome Extensions on Edge as well)
Once it's installed into Firefox/Chrome/Edge you can proceed with adding this style or any other.
To add the style (Stylus), follow the instructions:
Go to this link: https://userstyles.world/style/11286/old-tumblr-dashboard-userstyle (If it says 'style not found' then the Userstyle.world server is just down, try again in an hour)
Click on "install".
Style will open a tag with it and in the left side you'll have a button that says "install style", click there. (Step-by-step copied from the lovely dorothyoz39 who wrote this in a reply!) If you don't want the sticky header you can remove the labelled script at the top of the css below /* Sticky Header*/
For Manifest V3 only Chrome Or Stylus incompatible browsers:
For Chrome Manifest V3 install the Tampermonkey Extension
Then add the Tampermonkey Backup Script instead of the Stylus version
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/492279-old-tumblr-dasboard-backup I highly recommend you switch to Firefox for continued use of good extensions! Stylus does not have a V3 update yet; however, the tamermonkey script works just as good.
Be sure to check for updates regularly and if you'd like, consider supporting me on Ko-Fi https://ko-fi.com/pixiel !
I'm currently taking donations so I can afford a much-needed wheelchair, so please check out my GoFundMe for more details! Any Ko-Fi donations will be added manually to the GoFundMe
..::::HOW TO UPDATE::::..
click the Manage button on Stylus and click the check for update button next to the userstyle, then click again to install!
Make sure to check the Userstyle and see if the version number matches the one below if you don't see any changes!
NEW UPDATE: 25/05/25 (D/M/Y) 17:28PM BST v17.13
16.16: Fixed activity and notifications, they now look like the previous version 17.0: Final update to the new icons bs! Every page should be functional. If theres any missed parts or bugs - let me know! 17.9: Minor fixes and Tampermonkey update! You can also fix the positioning of the Communities button and subnav from this menu as well - it should remember your settings when you update!
Tumblr Post Width & More (OTD+ Userstyle) Is now available!!
OTD+ is an add on for Old Tumblr dashboard that you can use to edit the Post Width, Content Positioning & More - It must be used with Old Tumblr Dashboard installed as well on the latest update! This style might be merged with OTD in the future.
THE CREATOR OF THIS USERSTYLE SUPPORTS THEIR TRANS SISTERS. WE'RE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER!
Check the readmore for the changelog, custom code & known issues!
----- Known issues:
Only two columns in Masonry view. Semi-Unfixable, Tumblr creates columns based on monitor size, if I try adding another column (because it doesn't exist) it just perpetually loads on screen. Semi-fix: Zoom out in chrome/firefox and it adds more columns, you may need to change the font size of the page though
Search bar doesn't appear on some pages (like viewing a post), this is because Tumblr removed the search bar on those pages completely. Unfixable but not a big deal
Tumblr has ONCE AGAIN CHANGED THE ACCOUNTS MENU. The menus are now shorter and have less information on them. This is unfortunately permanent. I do not see any way to fix this. Unfixable.
If you want people's icons to stay fixed in place, instead of scrolling with the dashboard change this in Stylus;
Or if you're using the tampermonkey version
Find text:
.NLCTe > div.Evcyl > div > div > .So6RQ.YSitt > .ge_yK > .c79Av > article > header > .RYkKH > .nZ9l5 { pointer-events: auto; top: 55px; transition: top .25s; position: -webkit-sticky; position: sticky; } and replace it with;
.NLCTe > div.Evcyl > div > div > .So6RQ.YSitt > .ge_yK > .c79Av > article > header > .RYkKH > .nZ9l5 { pointer-events: auto; top: 0px; transition: top .25s; position: absolute; }
Solved issues: (Update)
Menus need to be manually closed SOLVED! in V.4 and updated in V.5! The menu & icon WILL scroll with you if you have removed the sticky header CSS, however, clicking anywhere on screen will make the Menu disappear still.
Masonry view in searches is now fixed!
Resized Messenger Chat Box!
NEW UPDATE 16/08/23, 23:55 BST v6.5: Figured out how to reorganise the icons in the header. Let me know if you have any problems with it and make sure to update your Userstyle! Some icons are hidden with Display: Block; you can hide more icons with this method!
Solved issues p2
Brought back SOME of the icons for Tumblrs latest update - Unfortunately, this does not bring back user icons for Reblogged posts! Make sure to yell at Tumblr for removing the icons as well as the horrible dashboard update here! v7.5 Fixed icons for all posts and put them back where they came from!
v6.9.6.9 (I promise this is the last funny number): Fuck Off Buggy The Clown Update + All languages support for the old header design!
v7.0: Fixed the search bar for tumblrs new collections feature, so it looks like the original search bar!
v8.0: Fixed masonry view icons, hidden the reblog icon on dashboard icons, fixed icons in blog viewport
V8.1: Fixed issue with icons not working on soft-refresh & with endless scrolling disabled - be sure to complain to staff!
v9.3: Changed a few things with the search feature, I also made the posts less round.
UPDATE2 11/04/2024: SO We mighhtttt have overrun their servers. 😅 I'm getting a 500 Internal Server Error every time I try to fix it or upload it as a new style - the massive influx of people downloading the userstyle was probably too much. The Tampermonkey backup on Greasyfork works just fine though! Probably easier for a lot of people migrating anyway! UPDATE 11/04/2024:: My code has broken on Userstyles.world, (it is now fixed as of 12/04/24) until this is fixed I have created a Tampermonkey Backup Version of the Userstyle so feel free to use this version if you've broken yours!
https://greasyfork.org/en/scripts/492279-old-tumblr-dasboard-backup
v9.6: Moved the Following | For you | Your Tags to below the create a post panel. Fixed the Accounts Menu! + Bugfixes V10.3: Patio compatibility. Added a way to hide the Patio button & "patio feedback?" button, just search for patio in the code and follow the instructions! v11.0: Temporary Chat feature fix after Tumblr broke it, fixed some positioning issues and j/k scrolling!
v12.3: Fixed a text issue (my bad!), I undid the changes to the replies function and added a way to fix icons order for when you get the communities update!
v12.5: Update to make compatible with the Content Positioning using Tumblr Post Width & More (OTD+ Userstyle) v12.6: Post buttons fixed, icons unable to be fixed yet as I haven't got the tumblr changes just yet - but I will fix them asap!
v11.7: Communities Update, changed the new search bar on communities page to resemble the old one. The search bar still doesn't work on these pages yet for some reason. Blog view icons fixed. v13.0: The icons change should now have a working patchfix! BIG THANK YOU to arcadian-asgardian for sending me the screenshots I needed and testing if it worked. + Minor tweak, communities button resized to fit the rest of the icons better v13.2: Mini fixes now that I have better access to the new changes! Communities icon re-centered, usernames nudged back into place.
V13.5 & v13.7: Nuked the Go Premium button - Re-positioned the search bar on search pages v13.10: Changed a lot of the new look for replies - it's not perfect yet mind. Small bug with the "..." menu moving to the left with shorter replies. Looks a lot more like the old replies section though! Made it possible to remove the reply to reply button just search for "NEW Replies UI" in the userstyle and remove the /* */ around "display: none" OR use Ublock to block the element! v14.1: Reverted the "Original Poster" border + text to look like old version. Edit: Whoops, fixed an issue with showing the timestamps
v13.4: Added a way to fix the communities icon position if you don't have the New Xkit button or have hidden any of the icons. Just remove the highlighted /* */ pair in the code for what you need.
v14.11: Made Premium Perks button available in the bottom left corner for all premium users v15.2: Fixed the Tumblr fuckup AND added a cool new feature that allows you to customise the look of your header & hide the reply-to-replies button if you like, here's how to customise this. Set to "Block" if you want the button/icon visible, Set to "None" if you want it hidden! V15.5: Given labels to options for clarity - now says 'show' or 'hide'!
v15.9: The Boopdate! V16.0: Fixed Search view pages and made them look normal, unfortunately, I can't bring back the dropdown menus for "top"/"All Time" etc - but it should look more like the original now
v16.3: Minor tweaks to make search pages look better
16.10: Fix changes to the notification icons 16.14: Fixed many issues with Tampermonkey Version - including a bug that makes the header go weird when you click on a post, fixed notification icons in small view
16.16: Fixed activity and notifications, they now look like the previous version
16.26: TEMPORARY UPDATE - only changes some aspects of the dashboard - THIS IS FULLY INCOMPLETE AND I AM WORKING ON A FULL FIX FOR THE REST OF THE SITE EDIT: added changes for timestamps!

Building Custom Google Chrome Extensions: A Solution-Oriented Approach
Introduction:
In today's digital world, software development and AI technologies have transformed the way we interact with technology. As businesses strive to provide unique and tailored experiences to their users, custom software solutions have become increasingly important. One area where customization can make a significant impact is in the development of Google Chrome extensions. In this article, we will explore the value of building custom Google Chrome extensions and introduce Vlad Hu, a freelance developer who specializes in helping entrepreneurs bring their creative visions to life.
The Frustration of Generic Solutions:
Have you ever been bombarded with messages from service providers who claim to understand your needs but fail to deliver a solution that truly aligns with your business idea? It can be incredibly frustrating. Many service providers focus solely on technical aspects without taking the time to understand the core problem their clients are trying to solve. This often leads to generic solutions that miss the mark and fail to address the unique challenges faced by businesses and their users.
Introducing Vlad Hu:
Vladimir, or Vlad Hu as he is commonly known, is a freelance developer who takes a different approach. With a deep understanding of the importance of aligning technical solutions with the business vision, Vlad focuses on helping entrepreneurs solve the problems faced by their users. He recognizes that technical expertise alone is not enough; a holistic understanding of the business idea is essential to create a custom solution that truly meets the needs of the target audience.
Closing the Gap between Technical Jargon and Creative Vision:
One of the key frustrations entrepreneurs face when working with developers is the communication gap caused by technical jargon. Vlad Hu understands this challenge and aims to bridge the divide. By speaking the language of entrepreneurs, he eliminates the need for clients to be well-versed in APIs, integrations, and other technical jargon. Vlad believes that by understanding the creative vision behind a business idea, he can efficiently implement it into a custom Google Chrome extension, enabling entrepreneurs to focus on what they do best: shaping their business strategy.
Taking the Next Step:
If you have a problem that needs a custom software solution, Vlad Hu is ready to help. By reaching out to him, you can discuss your unique challenges and explore whether his expertise aligns with your needs. Vlad's commitment to understanding your business vision ensures that the solution he develops will be tailored to your users' specific requirements.
To learn more about Vlad's services and get in touch with him, you can visit his Fiverr profile [link]. Whether you are a startup founder, an established business owner, or an entrepreneur with a groundbreaking idea, Vlad Hu is dedicated to providing you with a custom Google Chrome extension that meets your users' needs and drives your business forward.
Conclusion:
In the world of software development, customization is key to success. When it comes to Google Chrome extensions, a one-size-fits-all approach often falls short. Entrepreneurs need developers who understand their business vision and can translate it into a custom solution. Vlad Hu's expertise in building custom Google Chrome extensions, coupled with his dedication to understanding the problem you seek to solve, makes him a valuable partner for entrepreneurs looking to create impactful and user-centric solutions. Reach out to Vlad today and take the first step towards transforming your vision into reality.

A QUICK GUIDE TO AO3 CUSTOMIZATION FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT CODING
ft adding pink to everything and my secret to writing long comments
note: I originally posted this to twt but if that place burns in a fiery pit I spent too long on this for it to disappear, so I'm putting it here too :)
so many people know way more about this than I do, but this is a step-by-step walkthrough of the changes *I've* made, and hopefully it works as an introduction people can build from for whatever they'd like to do
There are a lot of images in this post! (click to enlarge)
to start, AO3 skins
site skins change how the AO3 website appears when logged in (even on mobile), mine is pink and blue!
I'll have my skin turned off throughout the post so the guides appear as they will for you
to create, edit, and view skins, go to the "skins" tab from the left-hand menu. you can also view public site skins from there or from the button in the preferences.
public site skins are made by other users. i would really encourage previewing and exploring them to become familiar with the possibilities (maybe you just want to use one of them and now you're done!)
to create your own skin
on the skins page, click "create site skin"
if you don't know CSS (same), use the wizard! clicking on the "?" will give more information about each option
I only use the colours section you'll see a link right there for hex codes I use pink as a header colour and bue for accent but lots of people change the background colour and that looks really cool!
submit
The next step (optional!!!) is to add CSS from a public skin to your own. I use "ByLine" by Branch. this separates the tag categories and adds spacing to make them easier to read.
here is a before and after using the fic "Landslide" by @roosterbruiser as an example
to see the CSS of a skin, click the title
copy all the text below the CSS heading
in the skin creator/editor press the custom CSS option and paste all the text into the CSS box
you can have both wizard and custom CSS settings, in mine you can see the header and accent colours as well as the CSS
level up: USERSCRIPTS
userscripts are small pieces of code that modify a website. for AO3, this may involve adding shortcuts and buttons or even advanced tagging functions (computer people, I'm so sorry if this is wrong, I'm trying). I use Greasy Fork and Tampermonkey.
This is how I write long and formatted comments!
Greasy Fork is an archive of userscripts and Tampermonkey is a browser extension and userscript manager. You don't need to use these two in particular. please use your common sense when downloading anything or adding permissions to your browser.
Greasy Fork guide on installing scripts
Install Tampermonkey on Chrome
there are TONS of user scripts for AO3. This is another good opportunity to explore all the possibilities. there are lots of more complicated options I haven't explored.
scripts for AO3
i use this floaty review box
and this comment formatting
EDIT: if you use chrome you might need to turn on developer mode in your chrome extension manager - you can google "tampermonkey developer mode" and it should explain that :)
to install (once you have Tampermonkey installed):
open the script you want in Greasy Fork and press install
Tampermonkey will open, press install again
clicking the Tampermonkey extension will let you toggle scripts on and off, and opening the dashboard will let you view, edit, and delete scripts
i find i can only have a few turned on at a time before they cancel each other out, but that depends on which ones you're using and someone more savvy might be able to fix that
how to use the floaty review box - write more comments!
there will now be a "floaty review box" button at the top of the work, it will open a floating text box you can move anywhere on the page. highlighting any text and pressing the insert button will paste the text with italics into the box
anything you type in the review box will appear in your comment at the bottom of the page!
if you have also installed the comment formatting script, you'll be able to highlight any text in your comment and use the new buttons above the comment box to format it
thats all ive got! Hopefully this is a good starting point to get familiar with some of the terms and basics for skins and scripts <3
if you want some inspo for how to comment on fics i made a whole fic rec list on twitter based on comments I've left, it's here. i have a masterlist of recs there mostly for darklina/reylo and similar ships.
the tag #reading with ru has cod recs and me talking about books
:)
#please no one follow me from this im never helpful otherwise#ao3 skins#ao3#fanfic#ao3 community#fandom#ao3 resources#im sorry if the image quality is awful lmk if I should clarify any of the text!#floating comment box#floating review box#ao3 guide

I love and adore ao3 and i love how customisable it is as long as you put in a little bit of effort
tired of having to key in the same filters every time? use a skin or use a firefox extension

want to use on mobile? firefox nightly, also orion browser
want muted colours, change the white background, dark mode etc etc? use skins, you can even change the icons! theres soo many pretty custom skins that ppl have made, some are as easy as copypasting the code
#text post#ao3#im so happy rn#i managed to figure out a simple skin to optimise ao3 for my e-ink reader

I'm a big nerd so there was a time when I actually got excited when a new version of Chrome was released. A golden age where Google added neat features and increased the speed. They improved integration with Gmail and other services I used. And they had some of the best extensions available.
Now every time I see an update I get depressed. I think, "What are they going to make shittier this time?" I can't remember the last feature they added that actually improved the user experience.
I'd love to transition to Firefox but I just don't have the energy to customize it to my needs right now. Plus I use Firefox for other things. I set it up so it is really easy to pay my bills, for instance. Having a second browser for only important shit helps me stay more organized.
People still villainize Apple more than Google. I have literally seen people say using Android is morally superior. Yes, it is open source and there are more repair-friendly Android devices. But it is still an advertising platform with the ultimate intention of collecting as much data from you as possible.
Google is worse.
They have been for a while.
(You can still run uBlock. You just have to jump through hoops in the settings to keep it. But this still sucks and people are going to think they have no choice and remove it.)

hello tags !
i love putting my two cents into things 🤪 but i just feel like it would be a good time to mention this extension that you can get on google chrome via the chrome web store!
the extension is called TEXT SPACING EDITOR. this extension allows you to set custom values for: line height, letter spacing, word spacing, and paragraph spacing.
unfortunately, i am not familiar with any other browsers, so i'm not sure if there are similar options available for other browsers.
as we're all aware, a lot of people love extra spacing in their replies, whereas for many others, it makes reading the text much harder, or even impossible! accessibility looks different for everybody, of course. if you think you would benefit from this extension, i highly recommend checking it out!
the two major benefits i imagine this extension could bring are:
for those who require extra spacing to read or understand text, you can now get it immediately!
if you use this extension, you no longer have to use extra spacing when formatting your own posts, thus making them more accessible for those who can't read text with extra spacing!
i would also love to mention that the extension aligns its settings with WCAG aka Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. what this means is that you can adjust your browser settings to meet the standard set by WCAG as what they deem to be easiest to read!
obviously, there is always going to be a debate about accessibility, mostly because this is the internet, and the internet is the worst place for debates lol. so my recommendation, as someone who has been on tumblr since 2012, is to curate your experience! if a blog isn't accessible to you, block that blog! maybe that sounds harsh, but this is your blog and your space, and you deserve to have it accessible to you!

The main reason to use Firefox and Linux and other free and open source software is that otherwise the big tech monopolies will fuck you as the customer over in search of profits. They will seek to control how you use their products and sell your data. When a company dominates the market, things can only get worse for ordinary people.
Like take Google Chrome for example, which together with its chromium reskins dominate the web browser market. Google makes a lot of money from ads, and consequently the company hates adblockers. They already are planning to move to manifest V3, which will nerf adblockers significantly. The manifest V3 compatible chrome version of Ublock Orgin is a "Lite" version for a reason. Ublock's Github page has an entire page explaining why the addon works best in Firefox.
And Google as we speak are trying to block adblockers from working on Youtube, If you want to continue blocking Youtube ads, and since Youtube ads make the site unuseable you ought to want that, it makes the most sense to not use a browser controlled by Google.
And there is no reason to think things won't get worse. There is for example nothing stopping Google from kicking adblockers off their add-on stores completely. They do regard it as basically piracy if the youtube pop-ups tell us anything, so updating the Chrome extensions terms of service to ban adblocking is a natural step. And so many people seem to think Chrome is the only browser that exists, so they are not going to switch to alternatives, or if they do, they will switch to another chrominum-based browser.
And again, they are fucking chromium itself for adblockers with Manifest V3, so only Firefox remains as a viable alternative. It's the only alternative to letting Google control the internet.
And Microsoft is the same thing. I posted before about their plans to move Windows increasingly into the cloud. This already exists for corporate customers, as Windows 365. And a version for ordinary users is probably not far off. It might not be the only version of Windows for awhile, the lack of solid internet access for a good part of the Earth's population will prevent it. But you'll probably see cheap very low-spec chromebookesque laptops running Windows for sale soon, that gets around Windows 11's obscene system requirements by their Windows being a cloud-based version.
And more and more of Windows will require Internet access or validation for DRM reasons if nothing else. Subscription fees instead of a one-time license are also likely. It will just be Windows moving in the direction Microsoft Office has already gone.
There is nothing preventing this, because again on the desktop/laptop market Windows is effectively a monopoly, or a duopoly with Apple. So there is no competition preventing Microsoft from exercising control over Windows users in the vein of Apple.
For example, Microsoft making Windows a walled garden by only permitting programs to be installed from the Microsoft Store probably isn't far off. This already exists for Win10 and 11, it's called S-mode. There seem to be more and more laptops being sold with Windows S-mode as the default.
Now it's not the only option, and you can turn it off with some tinkering, but there is really nothing stopping Microsoft from making it the only way of using Windows. And customers will probably accept it, because again the main competition is Apple where the walled garden has been the default for decades.
Customers have already accepted all sorts of bad things from Microsoft, because again Windows is a near-monopoly, and Apple and Google are even worse. That’s why there has been no major negative reaction to how Windows has increasingly spies on its users.
Another thing is how the system requirements for Windows seem to grow almost exponentially with each edition, making still perfectly useable computers unable to run the new edition. And Windows 11 is the worst yet. Like it's hard to get the numbers of how many computers running Win10 can't upgrade to Win11, but it's probably the majority of them, at least 55% or maybe even 75%. This has the effect of Windows users abandoning still perfectly useable hardware and buying new computers, creating more e-waste.
For Windows users, the alternative Windows gives them is to buy a new computer or get another operating system, and inertia pushes them towards buying another computer to keep using Windows. This is good for Windows and the hardware manufacturers selling computers with Windows 11 pre-installed, they get to profit off people buying Windows 11 keys and new computers, while the end-users have to pay, as does the environment. It’s planned obsolescence.
And it doesn’t have to be like that. Linux distros prove that you can have a modern operating system that has far lower hardware requirements. Even the most resource taxing Linux distros, like for example Ubuntu running the Gnome desktop, have far more modest system requirements than modern Windows. And you can always install lightweight Linux Distros that often have very low system requirements. One I have used is Antix. The ballooning Windows system requirements comes across as pure bloat on Microsoft’s part.
Now neither Linux or Firefox are perfect. Free and open source software don’t have a lot of the polish that comes with the proprietary products of major corporations. And being in competition with technology monopolies does have its drawbacks. The lacking website compatibility with Firefox and game compatibility with Linux are two obvious examples.
Yet Firefox and Linux have the capacity to grow, to become better. Being open source helps. Even if Firefox falls, developers can create a fork of it. If a Linux distro is not to your taste, there is usually another one. Whereas Windows and Chrome will only get worse as they will continue to abuse their monopolistic powers over the tech market.

people were wondering how i got my tumblr to look ^^ like this and asked for a mini tutorial so. here is how to get a custom tumblr theme (if youre on desktop) (obviously) [included screenshots of both the old & new layout so you can see how it looks]
go to the firefox (or chrome) store and install this extension. or just look up 'stylus browser extension' and it should show up
once youve got it installed, click the 'find' button in the bottom right. it should just show you tumblr stuff and if u scroll down a bit itll be there. but if it doesnt for whatever reason, look up the custom dashboard palette and install That One specifically
theres a gear icon. click it. you can change a whole bunch of stuff in here (notably, the color palette of basically everything on the site) but for backgrounds specifically theres this
find whatever image you want to use. it'll probably be the most convenient to find an aesthetic picture off tumblr itself. or, if you have a wallpaper you want to use thats downloaded onto your pc, upload it onto your blog or something. for whatever picture you want to use, right click and select 'copy image link' specifically and then paste it into the 'custom background image url' box and hit save. if it has a https in the link, then it should work out just fine
voila. that should do it. and side note if you want the old tumblr dash layout before they twitter-ized it, heres a post about that & the stylus extension for it

I’m a hug fan of monster transformation and honestly cyborg/robot transformation can hit sooo well in similar places if done right.
You’re a modder, you’ve been a modder for as long as you could hold a soldering iron. Other people and yourself. There’s something magical about stripping away all that useless flesh and replacing it with something built custom, better suited to your needs. Something chrome with sharp tipped fingers that are fun to drag over your still human lover’s back. You’re both enjoying your extensive toy collection a lot more since you rigged the up the nerve connectors and hot swap port.
You’re a security borg. A mix of original wetware, bioengineered muscle and enough implants and plating that you’re not allowed within 100 feet of an airport. That suits you fine, you remember the old you hated flying. She hadn’t gone through the process willingly, you dimly remember that. Mostly you remember her being shocked, repeatedly, for trying to run away. She’d volunteered for this, it wasn’t the company’s fault she didn’t read the paperwork. She had started to calm down and become you after the armor implants. You remember the shift happening. Waking up every day and seeing matte finished metal and ceramic in the mirror, wondering why you had ever tried to fight them in the first place.
I LOVE YOU IM KISSING YOU ON THE LIPS YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS EXACTLY YOU UNDERSTAND ME

Chrome! My oldest Metamy son!
Background: Chrome wasn’t born, he was built. Amy Rose created him in secret with the help of Tails. The AI coding came from Neo Metal Sonic, his father, but only in fragments, salvaged from corrupted data. He was raised far from Neo’s shadow, but curiosity is hard to cage, especially in something built to think. As a child, Chrome visited his father in secret and now that he's older, those visits have stopped but the admiration hasn't.
Personality: Chrome is loud, sharp, and impossible to shut up when he’s pissed, which is often. Insult him, and you’ll hear it. Call him a robot, and you’ll regret it. He insists, loudly, that he’s a hedgehog like everyone else. Underneath the snark and the fists-first attitude, Chrome is brilliant. Painfully so. Tails is his mentor and he is the mechanic behind Team Umbra, the one who built the ship and modded it.
Aspects:
- Chrome is Team Umbra’s mechanic, the hands behind every engine and the mind behind every modification. - His right arm is mechanical, forged from salvaged Neo plating and wired into his nervous system. It syncs with his machines like an extension of his mind. When charged, it glows faint blue. A hidden blade folds out from the wrist with a vicious snap of his wrist. - He wears a custom glove stitched with conductive plates. When he rubs his palms together, a spark jumps, igniting a short-range current that allows him to fuse tech, override systems, or channel the electricity into his weapons. -Chrome isn’t as fast as Comet, not naturally. But speed is a problem with a solution. The small jets welded into the back of his quills roar to life when needed, giving him mid-sprint boosts. - His parents aren't together, but he knows they still see each other. He's figured out that Amy wanted a kid, not for a perfect family, but so someone could need her the way she needed someone.

Alright here's a guide to remove Youtube shorts so you won't have to deal with them ever again
First off: this works both for mobile and PC as of me making this post (may 7th). If you use the application for mobile, you have to uninstall it and watch Youtube from your browser instead. This is not an issue tho, as using YouTube from your browser grants you a lot of customization, and an overall better experience (I promise).
It used to be possible to disable youtube shorts form the app, but this feature is no longer available to my knowledge.
Prerequisites: Ublock Origin and a browser that supports it (basically anything but Google Chrome. I personally recommend Firefox). Ublock Origin is very easy to install, just look in up in you browser extension store. Here's a link to the install page for Firefox)
NOTE: This method relies on custom adblocker filters to work. Ublock Origin is not the only adblocker supporting custom filters, but as these filters were made with it in mind, they might not work with other adblockers. But if you are using something else, like the Brave built-in adblocker, I encourage you to try it anyways.
We'll be using this filters list from GitHub.
Step-by-step guide:
Copy this link:
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/gijsdev/ublock-hide-yt-shorts/master/list.txt
Open Ublock Origin. How to do this depends on your browser. On Firefox desktop: look at your toolbar. On the right you will see either the Ublock icon, or a puzzle piece symbol: clicking it will show you all your extension (including Ublock). Clicking on it will open ublock in the form of a small pop up in the top right of your screen. Well done! On Firefox mobile: click the three dots in the toolbar -> extensions -> ublock origin
Click on the "Open the dashboard" option. It's the gears icon.
On the top bar go to the "Filter lists" section
Scroll to the bottom and select "import"
Paste the link and press on the "Apply changes" button!
Now you can check if everything works properly!
IMPORTANT NOTE: as of writing this, the filter lists does not work properly for mobile, only for desktop. This will be likely fixed soon. In the meantime, here's how to fix it:
after having followed the previous steps, copy this piece of code:
m.youtube.com##:matches-path(/^(?!\/feed\/history).*$/)ytm-rich-section-renderer
Go on the Ublock Origin dashboard again
Go to "My filters" in the top bar
Check that the "Enable my custom filters" box is checked
Paste the code in the field below and click on the save icon!
Although this fix worked for me, I also made it up on a whim, so I don't guarantee it's the best way to fix the issue. That's why it's best to check if the original filters are working before using mine.
Also please note that it's supposed to be used on top of the rest of the blocklist, so follow the previous steps as well!

Youtube anti-adblock fixes
Youtube has recently attempted to disable adblockers, they first applied a pop up but now they're completely preventing videos from being played.
If you use Chrome, please move to a different browser like Firefox. You can probably get away with it on Opera, Vivaldi, Brave or Microsoft Edge too
Firefox instructions: uBlock Origin is my current fix, and they are providing updates for every time Youtube changes its anti-adblock. What you need to do is simple! Download uBlock Origins as a Firefox extension here. (If you already have it, it is recommended to turn off all custom script to do with blocking youtube because uBlock will be doing it themselves! Make sure uBlock Origin is updated) You may need to force quick fix filters to update as seen here. If Youtube is still detecting an adblock it is very likely due to be because you have another adblock installed that is interfering with Youtube's detection. (Enhancer for Youtube extension has an inbuilt adblock you need to turn off)
Good luck!
