in the depths of my Sherlock Holmes obsession, I downloaded all The Strand Magazine pieces that contained a Sherlock Holmes story and added them up as the collections that they would later be released in (with the magazine cover and table of contents and correct page numbers and everything)

Mother is enabling me. Unfortunately now I have to remember how to do basic upholstery, source some dark bluey-teal short pile non-stretch velvet, and get some HTV gold stars to transfer on so I can make myself a Wizard Throne to sit in at my kitchen table.

[I made a reservation at the restaurant of love. Where they only have tables for two. Instead of taking my order, the waiter gave me a kiss. Instead of food, I ate perfume. The love restaurant failed its recent health inspection. Because the kitchen is infested with rats. I'm not talking love rats; these are regular rats. And they're biting all the customers and staff. I got food poisoning at the love restaurant. Pretty sure it was caused by the rats. I posted a one-heart review on Yelp.com/love. Then the business owner contacted me privately. He said, 'Why'd you give my restaurant a one-heart review?' I said, 'Because it was full of rats.' He said, 'This is a small business, and this review could ruin me.' He cried over the phone and said he was trying his best.]

i can't stop thinking about Price being a regular at the place where you bartend. he always sits at the bar, but at the far end away from everyone else so that when you go to take his order, you're forced into this little, private bubble with him. he's just this big, looming presence in the room, elbows resting on the bar and making him look even wider, nursing a beer while flirting with you whenever you come by to check on him. probably way overtips too, to the point where you almost feel like you owe him because his tips alone pay your rent.

reminder (and fun fact if you've never heard of this before): cultures that eat with their hands ALSO have table manners. It is different from culture to culture but all of us had to learn how to clean our hands, how to pick food up, how to sit at a table and how to fold our feet and how to control our arms to not come across as rude etc. Not only that, we had to learn how to eat when you're with family, when you're at a festival, when you're at a formal event etc. Just because we used our hands, doesn't mean we're uncivilized. If you ever thought we don't have table manners, I encourage you to think long and hard about why you might have thought that way! And maybe learn more about our cultures. There are so many of us!
