Daminette December 2022: 28-Family
The Parisian class stuck together as they were taken hostage by one of Gotham City's rougues. They patiently waited for Batman and the others to rescue them. Lila had told them, for months, how she personally knew him. That she was a civilian aide for the Bats. The whole city knew who she was, but pretended like they didn't to give her a sense of normalcy. The class cheered as Red Hood and Red Robin swing in to rescue them. Many of them looked around, but they couldn't find Batman.
Bruce Wayne sighed as he walked out of the car to the crime scene. He had a board meeting he couldn't get out of and had sent two of his sons to help. Dick and Damian were stuck as civilians with the rogue. It wasn't until Commissioner Gordon called him that he was able to cancel the board meeting for a later date. He quickly explained that he had to pick up his sons' from an attack and the board could see it was an important matter.
Bruce saw Red Hood and Red Robin were talking to some of the officers. Dick and Damian were walking towards him and thankfully, looked unharmed. Bruce noticed a girl not far from them and sighed. He walked passed his two boys and grabbed her arm. He started pulling her towards the car.
Marinette started to struggle and tried to dig her heels into the ground as a stranger pulled her away from the class.
"Let me go!" Marinette shouted, trying harder to get away.
The class watched helplessly as Marinette was once again in a hostage situation. Many people turned to see what was going on. When they saw what was happening, some of them chuckled and went back to what they had been doing. Marinette noticed the car looming closer.
'I hope this works, Maman!'
Marinette quickly turned and grabbed the back of his suit jacket. She kicked the back of one of his knees and when she felt the man's knees buckle, she quickly used her weight as leverage and tossed him to the ground.
"What the fuck do you think you are doing?" Marinette shouted, standing over him.
Bruce laid very still on the floor, confused. He could see the murky clouds and hear the lights from the sirens. It wasn't hard to notice the red and blue lights rotating in the sky. Dick and Damian rushed over to see what was going on.
"This psycho is trying to kidnap me!" Marinette shouted, pointing at the guy on the ground.
The Wayne brothers looked at her and then each other.
'Not again.'
"B, what were you doing?" Dick questioned.
"Trying to take you sister home." Bruce replied, "How hard did I hit my head? Your sister sounds like she's speaking a different language."
The eldest son laughed. The youngest sighed.
"Miss." Damian began.
Marinette glared at him.
"I apologize for my father." Damian spoke, "He is extremely tired. He's had a long couple of nights this past few weeks and early mornings the next day. The man next to me is one of my adopted siblings; they all have dark hair and blue eyes. He thought you one of his adopted children. He thought you were our sister."
Marinette looked at him in shock.
"I-I have parents!" she cried out, "I don't know him! Is that how he got all his other kids, just took them off the streets?"
Damian smirked, " Sometimes. Although, I doubt they minded when Bruce Wayne asked if he could take them home to live in our manor." as Dick picked up their father and dragged him to the car.
Marinette turned red and stammered, "Br-Bruce Wayne?"
Damian gently grabbed her hand and placed a kiss on it, "Damian Wayne."
Mari wasn't sure if she was turning a new shade of red.
"Oh no! I'm going to get out class sent home" She shouted, "We're the class he sponsored from Paris!"
The Wayne heir chuckled, "I can assure you, you have nothing to worry about. Our father will likely be the one apologizing to you. Too many late nights and too many board meeting make for a disastrous combination. We'll be making sure he is well rested. I'm sure we'll meet again, Miss Dupain-Cheng."
Damian strode over to the car and the Waynes took off.
Marinette collapsed on the ground, as her legs gave way.
"Give her some air!" GCPD shouted, escorting people farther away from her.
Gordon chuckled, "Never thought I'd ever see him that tired."
Marinette looked up to the older officer, "Does that happen often?"
"Him claiming kids?" He asked, "I think he has eleven, now, but only a few of them are adopted. My daughter goes to his place, too. She use to date one of his sons; now they're friends."
"Oh." Marinette whispered.
"But, his kid is right." Officer Gordon commented, "Usually the adopted ones have dark hair and blue eyes."
'Weird.'
"I think it's just because they remind him of himself." the commissioner continued, "As you can tell, Damian gets his skin tone and eyes from his mother. Other then that, Kid is the spitting image of his Father at that age. Weird to see him grown up a second time."
Marinette looked at him curiously, "How long have you known Mr. Wayne?"
Gordon frowned, "Almost his whole life. I was one of the officers who responded to his parents' murder. Happened tight in front of his, as a child."
'He's building his own family.'
"If I see him again, I'll make sure to decline his request." Mari smiled, "As nice as it sounds, I have my own parents in Paris."
Commissioner Gordon offered her his hand and helped her up. He decide it was best that he personally took her back to her class. It might also keep the media vultures at bay.
"I apologize about the confusion." Gordon chuckled, "He's just a tired man, who thought he was takign his daughter home. His sons will sort him out and make sure he sleep. I have no doubt about that."
The moment she reached the class, Adiren hugged her.
"Are you okay?" He shouted.
Alix shoved him away, "Forget that! She flipped him!"
"Yeah!" Nino shouted, "How'd you do that?"
"Maman." Mari answered
Her friends winced.
"Makes sense." They all commented.
Marinette saw that the commissioner looked confused, "My mother taught me."
"Ah." he smiled, "Have a good rest of the night."
Adrien, Kim, Alix, Max, Juleka, Nathaniel, Nino, and Chloe quickly checked over her.
"I'm okay." Marinette smiled.
Chloe's smile quickly turned into a frown, "It's ridiculous! Utterly ridiculous for you to get kidnapped!"
"I'm not the one who wanted to come to the most crime ridden city in the United States." Marinette commented.
Her group of friends glared at Lila and the others.
"That's right!" Kim snarled.
"It's their fault Marinette almost got kidnapped!" Ali screamed, pointing fingers at them.
"We said we should read up on the Rouges." Nino claimed.
"I believe many cities were offered up as alternatives." Max stated.
"Metropolis." Nino called out.
"Los Angeles." Nathaniel pouted.
"Star City!" Adrien whined.
"But no." Chloe rolled her eyes, "Liar Rossi knows Batman."
"He saved us!" Alya retaliated.
"No, Red Hood and Red Robin saved us!" Adrien exclaimed.
"Batman wasn't here to assist us." Max announced, "He did not appear before us and he did not speak to Lila in any way or form. He isn't even here at this scene. Surely he would have spoke to his civilian aide, if she is that well known by the city."
"Neither was Nightwing or Robin." huffed Nino.
"Or Black Bat." Juleka declared.
"Or Signal." pouted Kim.
"Or BatGirl!" declared Alix.
The rest of the class shifted uncomfortably as the other group made sense, yet again. It was only by one vote that they had decide upon Gotham and now they were coming to regret it.
Bruce Wayne blinked his eyes open and looked around the room.
'I'm home. I don't remember coming hime. How did I get here? Maybe Alfred or the boys know.'
Bruce got dressed for the day and descended to the dining hall for breakfast.
"Sir, I am going to tell you that you are banned from accessing the batcave and patrol for the next week." Alfred announced, "You require a large amount of rest."
'Am I sick? I don't feel sick.'
Bruce looked around the table to see his eldest boys snickering. Damian on the other hand was glaring at him.
'So not sick.'
"What-" he began to ask.
Damian slammed his phone down in front of his father and pressed play. Bruce watched as he grabbed a young girl's arm and attempted to drag her with him. They appeared to be at a crime scene. When they got close to the car, she grabbed his arm and flipped him onto his back.
'Well, that explains why my head hurts. Not a concussion, but close enough. Also explains why it looks like Damian is about to grab one of his katanas.'
"I don't remember this." Bruce stated.
"You were too tired." Tim chuckled, "You always go on and on about how I need to sleep. Looks like your sleep demon finally caught up with you."
"You claimed you were taking 'our sister' home." Dick smiled, "You claimed you must have hit your head because she wasn't speaking English."
Bruce groaned.
Damian grabbed his phone and sneered, "I had to explain you were nothing more than a sleep deprived buffoon and who you were. She's a foreigner; she's part of the class trip that you sponsored!"
Alfred set down a cup of coffee, a thermos, and some asprin in front of Bruce.
"Do becareful not to adopt anymore children today, Sir." Alfred stated, leaving the room.
As Bruce left the room, Jason called out, "So how are we placing the bet? Two hours until we have a new sister?"
'It's gonna be a long day.'
Bruce gulped as he noticed the class in the lobby of Wayne Enterprise. He took a breath and walked towards them. He could tell some people recognized him from the other night, by their warily glances.
Bruce cleared his throat, "Um, I'm told I tried to take someone home with me?"
Marinette peeked though and smiled. She moved through the class and held a box out in front of her.
"These are for you." She smiled, "Damian and Mr. Gordon explained how hard you work, Mr. Wayne."
The class froze and Lila backed up a bit.
"I often work too hard and the days blur together so I know what that's like." Marinette continued, "These are caramel and pretzel cookies. Damian said they were your favorite, after asking Alfred."
Bruce remained speechless.
"I'm sorry." Marinette frowned, "I do have to turn down your offer. I love my parents and they are in Paris. I'll be returning to them once the trip is over."
Bruce nodded, "Of course. I apologize again Miss Dupain-Cheng. Is there any way to make up this misunderstanding?"
"Just....accept the cookies?" Marinette replied, holding out the box again.
He smiled and took the box, "I hope the rest of your trip is enjoyable."
After Bruce walked away, her friends surrounded her.
"They guy who tried to kidnap you was Bruce Wayne?" Chloe shouted, "Ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous!"
Marinette blushed, "Yeah. His son told me he was sleep deprived and the office said his adopted kids had dark hair and blue eyes. I just sorta fit in."
"Yes, it is quite the coincidence, but 100% accurate. The three boys he adopted were all of different nationalities, but the common look they all had was dark hair and blue eyes. His biological son resembles him tremendously, but has green eyes." Max declared.
"My parents probably would have packed my bags and handed me over." Nino chuckled.
Adrien laughed, "So would Father."
"You sure you don't want to change your mind?" Alix asked, "You could run after him."
Mari laughed, "No. I'm good."
Bruce smiled as the elevator dinged, to take him to his office floor.
Bruce took the box to this office and set it on his desk. He opened the box and saw an envelope placed on top of the sweets. He took out the envelope and a cookie. He placed the cookie in his mouth and smiled at the taste.
Hello, Mr. Wayne.
I'm sorry about the trouble for yesterday. I thought you should know that you should look into a student in the class named Layla Rossi. She prefers to go by Lila. She has been claiming to have connections to you and your family, that she knows Batman's identity, and various other claims.
I've already spoken to her and I've tried to get her to see the error of her ways, but she doesn't care. She claims to only be telling people what they want to hear. I'm sure you don't wish to hear about some random girl growing up with you. There should be a USB in the envelope; inside details all the lies and a list of what Lila has done. It will also tell you where to find proof and who you should contact.
Marinette Dupain-Cheng
Bruce inserted the USB into his laptop and brought everything up.
'She was right. It's very detailed. It was as if Tim had found everything for her.'
Bruce thought back to the smile she had given him as she turned down his gratitude.
'Smart and hides behind a smile. Much like how he portrays himself in front of the board and media.'
Bruce quickly picked pup his phone and dialed Damian.
"What?" Damian questioned.
"You are your mother's only child, right?" Bruce asked.
"Yes, why?" Damian asked, concerned, "What has Mother done this time?"
"Nothing." his father answered before hanging up.
'Well, Damian has no knowledge of her. Was this to convince me not to adopt her? If so, it wasn't working. Does she know I'm Batman?'
Bruce brought up the background check on her. Her parents were both alive and well. Her father was French-Italian and her mother was Chinese. Neither of them had contact with Talia or the League.
'Not adoptable, but she would be a good addition to the family or Wayne Enterprise. Damian talked to her the other day. He was even defensive of her at breakfast.'
Bruce picked up the phone and redialed his son.
"What now?" demanded Damian.
"Ask out Marinette Dupain-Cheng!" his father shouted.
Damian remained silent for over a minute, "Father."
"Win her over!" Bruce commanded.
The Wayne heir sighed, "You can't adopt her so you wish for me to persuade her through marriage."
"Yes." Bruce smiled.
Damian hung up the call. Bruce knew it was a long shot, but all his other kids were too old for Ms. Dupain-Cheng. When he got word that the class was leaving, he rushed downstairs to apologize once more. Imagine his surprise when he found Damian, dressed in a suit, speaking to Marinette and kissing her hand. She was even smiling at his son! Bruce watched as Damian led her away and out of the building.
'Damian listened to me!'
He was so letting Damian get another pet!
Marinette sat across from Damian at a small café, nearby.
"I had an interesting conversation with Father during lunch." Damian spoke.
"Oh?" she probed.
Damian smirked, "My father suggested I ask you out on a date because it was illegal to adopt you."
Marinette laughed, "When do you plan on introducing me as your girlfriend? We've been together for two years."
"I'll let him think it was his idea, for now." the Wayne heir answered, making his girlfriend giggle.
"I do wonder what you did to my father." he spoke up.
"Huh?" Marinette asked.
"He questioned if I had a sibling." Damian replied.
Mari smiled, "Oh, I gave him all of my data on the liar and fed him a type of cookie with Dupain-Cheng flair that you told me he liked.
"Smart. Can cook. Wayne looks." Damian began to list off, "We best be careful, Habibiti. I fear Father will push for a proposal, after four months, if I don't scare you away."
"Oh no." Marinette sarcastically declared, "What ever shall we do?"
"Do you think Alfred or Father would faint first, if I introduced you as my fiancée instead of my girlfriend?" Damian questioned.
"Neither." Marinette spoke, "After everything you've told me about them. I'm guessing Todd."
Damian chuckled.

Daminette December Day 25- Joke
@maribat-calendar-events
An explosion shook the building, dust flew everywhere, and the noise deafened the ears of everyone unfortunate enough to be in the area. As the haze of debris settled down a figure could be seen, followed by several other people, coming through the new hole in the wall.
"Well, well. Looks like we have a party going on here. Hope you don't mind my explosive entrance." The following cackle caused shivers to run down most people’s spine. "I know it's rude, but they always say to show up late to make a dramatic entrance and well… I do think my presence deserves some drama."
Marinette rolled her eyes. It wasn’t even a good joke, they were at a restaurant not a party. She looked away from Joker and across the table to where Damian was sitting, or rather where he had been sitting, as he was no longer there. Glancing around she failed to find him
“Alright everybody! Down on the ground, jewelry and wallets out and into the bag. And you,” Joker pointed a gun at one of the waiters. “Get all the cash in this place and bring it back.” He tossed another burlap sack at the man, who went running off somewhere.
Getting on the ground, Marinette reached up to her earrings and slipped them into her pocket when no one was watching. They didn’t look valuable when they were disguised but it was better to not take any chances. She marked the exits from her position and the location of each henchman and the Joker. The best plan was to wait until Batman and his associates showed up, but even the best plans usually failed.
At the table next to where she was sitting, a child began to cry and one of the henchmen came over to quiet the kid. “Shut up before I make you shut up!” The parents tried to hush the child and while the child quieted down, it wasn’t enough for the villian. He raised the butt of his rifle to the kids face and Marinette couldn’t sit still any longer.
Quicker than is possible for most humans, she launched from her position on the ground straight at the enemy, tackling him to the ground. The rifle knocked out of his hand, screams sounded out around them and the footsteps of his accomplices were just barely perceptible. Finishing the fight swiftly, Marinette punched the man once in the face, strongly enough that the man was knocked unconscious. Getting up, she faced the four other goons of Jokers. It was too late to back down now, but she also couldn’t fight well in the dress she was wearing.
“That wasn’t a funny punchline, miss.” The cold tone of the Joker’s was far more intimidating than his previous jolly and psychotic attitude. “How about I teach you what a real joke is like?” With his hands he motioned the henchmen to fight her and Marinette tensed, waiting for the first shot.
The first shot wasn't from the villains though. A whoosh sounded through the air, followed by a thunk as a batarang embedded itself into the wrist of one of the assailants. Not wasting a moment, Marinette grabbed a plate from the closest table and flung it like a frisbee at another opponent– three down, two more plus the Joker to go. One goon turned towards Marinette, while the other turned to where Robin appeared from the kitchen.
They didn’t leave many openings as they pointed their guns at them. It was only when her opponent came closer in order to grab her that Marinette got the chance to act. Seizing the barrel of the rifle, she aimed it upwards, then sliding her left foot forward, she got low and slammed her shoulder into the man’s solar plexus, knocking the air out of him. Then turning them around, she twirled the gun out of the henchman’s hands and into her own, pointing the gun at Joker. Meanwhile from his own position, Robin was also simultaneously disarming and taking out his opponent.
“Oh great! You want to do anything right, you've got to do it yourself.” With those words, Joker pulled out a device that looked like a tear gas canister. Pulling the trigger, a plume of noxious green gas came out. The people closest began laughing, their faces contorted into forced smiles. “See, now we can all have fun together.” The Joker laughed again before he raced towards the entrance he made when he first arrived at the restaurant. “See you around Robin, Miss Robin. Tell Batsy hi for me.”
Both she and Robin wanted to run after him but the restaurant guests came first. Robin had a gas mask he could use, and a spare one just in case, which he gave to the closet victim. Marinette meanwhile, set the gun down and made do with a cloth napkin she swiped from one of the tables– not highly effective, but better than nothing. Then she and Robin began shepherding people out of the enclosed space. Just as people were leaving, the police showed up with the paramedics in tow.
“Thank you for your help, ma’am.” Robin came up behind Marinette, scaring her so badly she almost punched him in the face. “But you should worry about your own safety first.”
She nodded, knowing full well, she would ignore his advice. “Robin, I’d like to ask you a favor. Can you look for my boyfriend? Damian? He was with me but disappeared when all of this first started.”
The hero stilled before answering her question. “I’ll send him your way if I find him. Now I should get back to helping the first responders. Please see a paramedic in the meantime.” Something about his tone and mannerisms caught Marinette’s attention.
As she walked over to the ambulances, she looked back and then shook her head. There was no way that Damian and Robin were the same person. I mean, what were the chances. Out of three of her ex-partners, three of them were also superheroes, it seemed improbable that Damian was one too.

You know, the first MariBat Fan art I ever did was on April 6th 2022. Took me around 3-4 hours.
So in honor of Daminette december I decided to re-draw it!
This one took me 2 hours and I had Zero sleep last night. I'm turning into Tim and Marinette with each New day......sigh...
Anyway- Yes, Damian is not Robin in the New Version. I was thinking about giving him his Black Robin suit but...nah...I made him Red Bird.
So....hope you like it!
Old vs. New!

Note
I just wanted to say thank you for running this event for the past few years. It was what got me into this fandom and once I started writing one of my favourite events to participate in.
Thank you so much <3333
Tumblr media
Thank you for your kind words 🥺
And to think this event was what got you into Maribat! 🥺 Very honored to know that this event got you to write for the fandom QuQ
When I first thought of wanting to start this event, I think I was just getting into Maribat myself, having a few fics out on A03 and seeing new tropes emerge in the fandom. And out of the tropes, I started to love the bio!dad trope, becoming a sucker for the damn trope and noticed there wasn't enough!
And I thought, oh, maybe I should write for it! And I did! But then I thought, should I start an event for it?
At this time, Maribat March, Angst April (or I think that was what it was called) and Daminette December were the major events and when I thought about those events... I became skeptical of myself.
Because I didn't have a large following like those blogs...I wasn't well known as other writers/artists in the fandom..
I remember asking the Maribat Insanity server if I should even do an event because...did anyone else like the trope?? After all, there were so little works...
And my god...the amount of support I got and the amount of people who encouraged me to give it a try...
So I gave it a shot.
I made an interest form May 2020 and by June 2020, the first calendar of the event was post and on September 2020, the event launched.
And so many people participated, writing fics on Tumblr, linking their works from A03, making art...
In 2021, people still participated and even extended the trope from Bruce being Mari's bio dad to other characters like Luka and Kagami.
In 2022 and 2023, not many people participated but I still hosted it because people were excited to create works for the fandom.
And I think...I think that is why I still hosted the event for the past four years...
The Maribat community was the first crossover community I dared to join after a friend introduced me to it and honestly was one of the most welcoming, most creative communities I've been a part of and a community I will always hold dearly to my heart.
They inspired me to write, to grow as a writer, as a person and knowing this event introduced you to this community and helped you start your journey as a fellow writer... it really means a lot and once again shows how the community just continues to inspire...
So again...thank you, from the bottom of my heart <3 and I'm happy you enjoyed writing for this event <3
Thank you.

Daminette December 2022: 23-Swim
There was a heatwave in Paris. It was so hot that they felt like they were in a giant frying pan. The class thought the best thing to do would be to go to the pool. They already figured it would be packed with kids and parents. They didn't expect to see a paper on the aquatic center that said it was closed due to a reservation.
"They can't be closed!" Whined Alix.
"It's so hot." Nino sighed.
"I'm sure we can still get in." Lila declared, "It's probably a kid's birthday party or something. I'm sure we can convince them to let us hover in the deep end."
'Kim mentioned he was a lifeguard in training. All I have to mention is he's a lifeguard to the parents and they'll let us in. Free babysitting for Kim and we can swim.'
Lila had convinced the rest of the class that they could help with swimming lessons or even keep them an eye on the children. It would be simple and boring, but they would be cool and wet.
As they forced their way inside and walked into the pool area, they saw there was no party. The only person they saw was Marinette climbing out of the pool in a pink bikini with her hair down. None of them had known that the clumsy girl they knew was athletically built.
Before they could utter a word, a voice cried out, "Why are you here? Can you not read?"
A muscular guy with olive skin stepped into view. The girl stared in awe, while even Kim felt unworthy standing next to him.
'Who is this hottie and why is he with her?'
"Explain." he stated again.
"We-We just wanted to use the pool." Kim declared.
"You can return in two hours." he stated.
"Marinette knows us!" Lila smiled, "It's fine."
"Leave or I will contact the authorities." he demanded.
'What?'
"Dude, you can't hog the pool!" Nino complained.
"I can when I reserved it and bought out the hours." he commented.
'This guy reserved the whole pool?'
"Dami, how was my time?" Marinette questioned, walking up to him.
When Marinette noticed some of the class, she quickly covered herself up.
"Dami, is everything okay?" she asked, half way hiding behind the guy.
"Get my phone, Angel." he demanded, "I'll be pulling my services from this establishment."
"There's no need to do that." Rose spoke up.
"Yeah, Marinette, tell him you know us." Alya smiled.
"I do." Mari declared.
"See!" Alix shouted.
"And?" Marinette answered.
The class fell silent by Marinette's decleration and sudden change in attitude. Even Lila was shocked by her new hostility.
"I can't believe your acting like this with your friends!" the journalist snarled
Marinette scoffed, "All of you have told me several times that we are not friends. I don't see you as friends. The only reason we came here, instead of the hotel pool was because it's being cleaned."
"We can share the time." Nino tried to offer.
"Leave." Damian demanded.
"What?" Rose questioned.
"You're kicking us out?" Kim asked, surprised.
Marinette handed Damian his phone in plain view. The class looked from Marinette to the guy with her.
Mari smiled, "Damian is very honest so I'd listen to him. He means everything he says."
The class quickly gathered up thei belongings, they had thrown on the floor, and glared at her.
"You've changed." Alya declared.
"I know." she answered, "I prefer myself this way. You can thank Lila for being such a bitch and a liar to me. You showed me these assholes aren't my friends."
Damian pulled Marinette close to his side and smirked, "We'll do another ten laps. Then, have your last break before another ten. Once we're done, we'll head back to the hotel and get ready for our dinner date."
Marinette placed a kiss on his cheek and walked back towards the other end of the pool.
"I'd leave now." Damian snarled, "You are unwanted here."
The class quickly rushed out of the aquatic center.
"Was that really Marinette's boyfriend?" Nino wondered.
"He seems super scary." Rose declared, "Luka was much sweeter."
"Who cares?" Alya shouted.
"I can't believe she said we weren't friends!" Lila sniffled, "She said so many mean things about me, too."
"But she was right, too." Rose admitted, shocking Lila, "We said we weren't her friends, first."
"We didn't mean it, though." Kim cried out.
"I think, she thinks, we actually meant it." Alix answered.
Everyone looked around at each other and frowned.
"We just wanted her to be nice to Lila!" Alya insisted, "We never meant for her to take it to heart!"
'They were still friends with her?'
"She still could have shared the pool." Lila whined, "It's so hot."
"I looked it up." Nino sighed, "The hotel pool is closed all week."
"I'm still shocked she was doing laps." Kim commented, "She isn't on the swim team, but she definitely has the body of a swimmer."
Alix scoffed, "Who cares about her body; did you see those muscles? I wanna know how much she lifts! She might be a bigger muscle head than you, Monkey Brains."
"Well, did you see who she was with?" Nino shouted, "He was ripped! He had like ten pack! Kim is a jock and Adrien is a model. He looked better than both of them combined!"
Rose giggled, "She moved on from a model and rock star to a God."
"A scary 'God'." Lila frowned, "I can't believe he was going to call the cops on us."
Everyone frowned and looekd around.
"Ice cream?" Kim questioned.
"Sure." Alix responded, dropping the subject entirely.
Everyone followed Kim, dropping the fact that Marinette was no longer their friend, she had a boyfriend and that the pool was no longer an option. Lila followed slowly behind them, wondering how everything came to a halt.

Daminette December 2022: 21-Green
Marinette never expected her life to change so much due to one color: green.
Her first crush, Adrien Agreste, had light green eyes. The first time she truly spoke to him, they were filled with honesty. His eyes seemed to carry so much wonder and joy. Over time, they were clouded with uncertainty. There came a point where he averted his eyes away from her. Those green eyes she had loved, were now the eyes of a coward.
Lila Rossi was the net person with green eyes and would become her enemy. Lila's eyes were conniving and sharp. Her eyes seemed to shift between yellow-green and dark, when she was angry. Lila was a liar, who tried to ruin her life.
The last pair of green eyes that changed her life belonged to the love of her life, Damian Wayne. Damian had made her life so much better. She had been at her lowest, when he found her. He understood her artistic needs, when she was anxious, and how to calm her down. Damian and his family were her biggest supporters, after her own family.
"Please, welcome the Waynes!" the announcer cried out.
Marinette smiled and gripped her husband's arm, as they took the stage with the rest of the family. She kept a smile on her face, as she caught Lila's eyes from across the room. They were dark green; green with envy. She could see the hatred in her eyes. She spotted Adrien's eyes filled with shock and worry.
"I think we'll need a bigger stage soon." Bruce quipped, as he took the mic, "Some of you may know my family, but not everyone does. Let me introduce my sons: Richard Grayson-Wayne, Jason Todd-Wayne, Timothy Drake-Wayne, and Damian Wayne."
The boys waved.
"Many of you do not know the girl at the end. That is Marinette Wayne, my daughter-in-law and Damian's wife."
Marinette smiled as people clapped. Bruce was quick to had over the mic.
"Thank you, Bruce." she smiled, "We are so happy you are all here, today, to help us donate to the children! Every dollar you donate will help us bring a smile to a child's face. Not every parent can be there for them, twenty-four seven, and we want to help those families. They have bills, work, other children to look after. A sick child should never feel that they are a hinderance to their family. Many of you have already donated and we are very thankful. Prince Ali of the Kingdom of Achu is here tonight! We are most grateful to his generous donation through his charity for pediatric hospitals. I, personally, will be shutting down comissions to make clothes for the children in the hospital. The Wayne Foundation will also be donating a million dollars to the hospital, directly, to create a whole ward dedicated for pediatrics."
The crowd began to clap and cheer. As the number of donations began to skyrocket, the Waynes left the stage to mingle.
"Mrs. Wayne." Gabriel spoke, introducing his presence, as well as Adrien and Lila's.
"Ah, Mr. Agreste." Mari smiled, "I thought I spotted Adrien and....your model."
Gabriel cleared his throat, knowing her distaste for Lila.
"Are you still mad at me, Marinette?" Lila questioned, "I promise I'm not the same person I was back in college."
"Yes." He stated, ignoring his muse, "I'm shocked to hear you will be closing your comissions though."
Marinette smiled, "Aside for creating clothes for the sick children at the hospital, I want to create the perfect nursey for our child."
Adrien's jaw dropped, "You're pregnant?"
"Oh, did that news not reach Paris?" Mari asked, "It's been known for almost three months."
"You're so thin!" Lila shrieked, "You must see my doctor. You're practically killing your own child."
"My wife is perfectly healthy, you deranged pig." Damian growled.
"Damian!" Marinette called out, "It's okay. I'm sure you remember me telling you about Lila. She was the disabled model, who didn't know how to control her own mouth."
Lila snapped her mouth shut.
Marinette smiled, "I told my husband all about you disability, Lila. Don't worry, even my parents told him how much they appreciated Gabriel for that reason. I don't know how many times I heard them tell customers about the girl with the lying disease and how Gabriel was an inspiration for having you model for his brand. Myself and Rose already warned Prince Ali, so you don't have to worry about him. We made sure he wouldn't sue you for your false claims about working with him on an environmental project. I also made sure Jagged Stone wouldn't sue you either. I'd be careful who you speak to tonight, though. This is Gotham and if you speak to the wrong person, well, they might call GCPD on you. I'd hate for them to mistake you as someone in dire need and you end up in Arkham Asylum. You might find yourself at the mercy of the rouges. I'd hate if that happened and I could have stopped it."
"Marinete, you're scaring her." Adrien interrupted.
"Adrien." Marinette growled, "I'm only telling her what she needs to hear. If something were to happen to her under your father's watch, imagine the hit to the brand. Many people don't know she's disabled! Not to mention, she's an adult. She can't call her mother to get her out of the asylum, only the doctors can decide when she is fit to leave."
Lila kept her mouth shut and her head down.
"And you can't do anything?" Adrien asked.
"No." Damian sneered, "Are asking my pregnant wife to put herself in harm's way around the mentally ill? If you and your father cannot control your girlfriend, then take her back to the hotel until your scheduled flight. Angel, let us return to the manor. You don't need to stress yourself out tonight. You have already said what was needed."
"Mr. Agreste, you can always call Wayne Enterprise and they will patch you through to me to continue our conversation." Marinette declared.
"Of course, Mrs. Wayne." Gabriel stated, "I apologize for my guest. Her words were unnecessary and have caused you stress. I'll make sure Ms. Rossi returns swiftly to the hotel, on your good fortune."
Marinette nodded and was guided away to the rest of the Waynes. Gabriel watched as Marinette hugged her new family and left the hall.
"Ms. Rossi." he spoke.
"Yes, Mr. Agreste?" she questioned.
"I believe I stated for you to return to the hotel." he growled.
"But-" Lila countered.
"I will personally be speaking to Prince Ali and Mr. Stone about your disability. They will decide whether I should keep you as a model. I require perfection and from what I hear, you are far from perfect." Mr. Agreste sneered.
"I was a child!" Lila shouted.
"Then, lie and live in Arkham Asylum for the rest of your life." Gabriel declared, "Adrien, you will stay by my side. I don't want you associating with Ms. Rossi, until further notice."
"Yes, Father." Adrien spoke.
Marinette relaxed in the car as Damian drove them back to the manor.
"Habibiti, forget the words of the insufferable wench." Damian stated, "You handled her beautifully."
Marinette sighed and closed her eyes.
"I will prepare peppermint tea once we are inside. You should disrobe and get comfortable in the sleepwear your mother sent you. We can lay in bed and watch that show you prefer; the one with sewing and challenges." he continued to speak.
As Marinette relaxed, she felt herself drifting off to sleep. Only one thing was on her mind, as she rubbed her stomach.
'I hope you have your father's eyes.'

Daminette December 2022: 12-Feather
It had been five years since Marinette had been back in Paris. So much had changed since she took that scholarship in Gotham. Many of the class had called her a 'deserter' or a 'traitor' for leaving them, others had been happy to get rid of a 'bully'.
Marinette had found happiness in Gotham. She had loved the art program. She had found many people loved her designs and her business took off. Marinette quickly gained a following for her ballgowns. Moving to Gotham had been the best thing she had ever done.
Marinette knew no one would probably recognize her. She had cut her hair into a pixie cut. She had long since ditched the pink and gravitated more towards lavender and black. The thought of Juleka coming to her for designs 'cause of their similar tastes made her giggle. Her clothes had gotten darker, sleeker, and worthy of Jagged Stone. She had gotten a couple tattoos, but her favorite tattoo was the red feather on her forearm.
"Marinette!" a voice shouted.
She turned and saw someone she hadn't seen in a long time: Alya.
"It is you!" she shouted, "Are you back, in Paris, to ask out Adrien?"
"Huh?" Marinette questioned, confused.
Alya pointed at the tattoo on her arm.
"The competitions you won!" Alya exclaimed, "The hat you made and he wore! It's so cute!"
"That's not-" Marinette began to explain.
"He wanted to see you, too!" Alya declared.
" But the tattoo-" Mari interrupted.
Alya smiled, gleefully, "I already texted him and he's on his way! Just hide it, if you don't want him to see it! I can't wait to see you together! What do you think will be your first date?"
Marinette sighed.
'How in the world does Alya think I came back to Paris for Adrien? It seems like she's grasping at straws for us to be together. Adrien's hat had been a pigeon feather; it definelty wasn't red. Alya hasn't changed one bit. She's still stubborn and gets blinders on when she's set on something.'
She rolled her eyes and pulled out her phone.
Angel: SOS
Angel: Come rescue me from idiots of my past
Demon: Where are you?
Angel: Park by my parents. Got stopped. Trying to set me up w/ my old crush.
Demon: Be there soon.
Adrien smiled, happily, as he entered the park. He waved at them, making sure they noticed him.
"Hi!" he called out.
Alya smiled, "Hey."
"So, you wanted to see me?" Adrien asked.
"Nope." Mari answered, "Alya told me that you wanted to see me, though."
Alya looked at her shocked. She hadn't expected Marinette to act that way.
'Where was the shy Marinette? She hadn't even stuttered.'
"What?" Adrien questioned.
"Look, I don't know what Alya texted you, but she started freaking out when she saw my tattoo. Alya said it was 'our symbol'." Mari explained.
"Tattoo?" the Agreste heir asked.
Marinette held up her arm and showed off her red feather.
Adrien frowned, "Why would a feather represent us?"
"The bowler hat." the brunette answered.
"Yeah, that Marinette had to change because I'm allergic to feathers." Adrien declared, "Also, it was a pigeon feather, not a red one."
Alya blushed, under her own assumption.
Adrien turned to Marinette, "Although, I don't think I'd be allergic to you; Why a feather?"
Marinette smiled, "This is only one of my tattoos. I have about seven of them. My favorite vigilante inspired this one. He saved me and changed my life."
"How did they save you?" Adrien asked.
"You met a hero!" Alya exclaimed.
"Oh, he introduced me to my husband." she answered, ignoring Alya's question.
"Husband?" the two shouted.
"You summoned me, Habibiti?" Damian spoke, announcing his presence.
Marinette turned and kissed him. Alya looked on in confusion. The guy Mari was kissing looked nothing like Adrien. He was dressed in all black and hardened eyes. Alya couldn't help but wonder what she had seen in him. Now that she looked over Marinette, she looked nothing like the girl who had left Paris.
Mari smiled, "I was just telling them how my favorite hero introduced us and we got together." showing Damian her arm.
"Ah, yes." Damian spoke, "Robin."
"From Gotham?" Adrien questioned.
Marinette nodded in response.
"Uh, how long have you been married?" Alya asked.
"Two years." Damian spoke.
"And you didn't invite me?" Alya cried, "Girl, we-"
"Will you stop?" Marinette sighed, "It's annoying how you think we're still friends ever since Lila ditched you. I would have told you your idea was stupid, but you never let me speak."
Alya shut her mouth so fast. It almost looked like she had swallowed her tongue.
"We stopped being friends almost ten years ago. When I moved, I never gave you a second thought. You're still the same stubborn person, who think they know what is best." Marinette continued, "Anyone who tries to tell you otherwise, is wrong in your eyes and you just talk louder to drawn them out. You don't like hearing you ae wrong, that you waisted time, or that you made a fool of yourself."
Mari turned to Adrien, "Adrien, you were called over here because Alya thought that this permanent tattoo somehow meant I still had a crush on you, since I was thirteen. That's why Lila was such a bitch, by the way. She was threatened that I had a crush on you and she wanted you all for herself. Alya thought that I waited ten years to hear how I might not be 'just a friend' anymore."
Adrien couldn't believe what he was hearing.
"I happily moved on with my life, a long time ago. We're not in junior high anymore and it's sad to see you still act like we are." Mari stated, "Adrien, tell your father that I will see him at our business meeting tomorrow at two."
"If you both don't mind, " Damian interrupted, seeing how frustrated his wife was getting, "my wife wanted to relax, before we have dinner with her parents."
Damian grabbed her hand and turned to leave. Marinette was lashing out and that was never a good thing. She likely was still jet-lagged and he knew she had been busy with commission before the visit. That wasn't a good combination when she had enemies here.
"Wait!" Adrien shouted.
Marinette and Damian turned to look at him. Damian glared at the Agreste heir.
"I'm glad." Adrien stated, "I'm glad you didn't wait for me. I was a pretty big idiot back then."
Marinette giggled, "I'll say. Just about the whole school knew about my crush on you."
Adrien's cheeks turned red and his jaw dropped. Damian smirked, realizing how much of an idiot the Agreste heir had been in the past.
"I-" Adrien began.
'I have no words.'
"You saw me as a friend." Marinette smiled, "I know."
'I did say that a lot.'
"Um, right now I can see I messed up 'cause you're amazing." Adrien continued, "You've always been amazing, but wow! Thirteen year old me was dumb."
Marinette laughed. Adrien turned to Damian.
"Don't lose her." the Agreste heir stated.
"I don't plan to." the Wayne heir answered.
"Maybe, we can catch up tomorrow, after you are done talking to Father?" Adrien asked, "Your husband is welcomed to join, as well."
Marinette looked at Damian, "Perhaps, if our schedule allows it. We'll be here for a month, only."
Alya shifted uncomfortably under Adrien's stare.
"Start listening to other people, Alya." he spoke, turning away, "It's why Nino broke up with you in the first place. You never listned to him."

Daminette December 2022: 30-Extra (free space)
Adrien and Kagami sat on the bench as their son got ready for the finale in the fencing championship. They were sure he was going to win two years in a row. His opponent was a fencer dressed in all black. It reminded Adrien of when Kagami dressed all in red. The black fencer seemed to breeze through the tournament. It made them wonder why they hadn't seen them the previous year.
Adrien looked over to the black fencer's side as Kagami reminded their son of his techniques. The fencer had left with a water bottle and a lady with short blue hair on the bench.
'Must be their mother.'
She dressed so differently from Kagami. Kagami had stuck to hakama, much like her mother did. Their mother was wearing a long dress with a sash in the middle. Many parts of it reminded him of China, but other parts he wasn't sure.
'I bet Father would know where it was from.'
His thoughts were broken when the fencer returned.
"Your father would be here if he could." the lady spoke, sadly.
The fencer in black nodded.
'I remember those moments. All I wanted was Father to come watch one match. For me to turn around and him to pat me on the back or tell me good job. I hope they show up for that kid.'
"Who says I'm not?" a man questioned.
Adrien watched as the fencer turned and hugged a man tight. They had olive skin and jet black hair.
"Damian, I thought you had a meeting!" the lady declared.
"I had them push a couple meetings back and got the others to fill in for me; today is important." he answered, "Father says we will go out for dinner, no matter the outcome."
The fencer nodded, eagerly.
"Remember, you are restricted; feet to the floor, at all times." the man spoke.
Adrien turned to his wife when he felt his hand getting crushed.
'Oh, no. She heard them, too.'
Kagami turned to their son and sneered, "Go all out."
Kagami crossed her arms as the opposing fencer was declared the winner. They both knew they fought admirable, but the black fencer always had the upper hand. They were always just out of reach from their son, Hiro. Adrien sighed and saw Hiro had taken off his helmet. He had the same look on his face when Kagami got angry. Their son may have gotten some of his looks, but he definetly had his mother's fury.
'Oh no.'
Hiro threw his fencing mask on the ground and stomped over to the other side.
"I demand to know who I fought!" he declared, "I want a rematch!"
The fencer nodded and took off their mask. The Agrestes were shocked to see a girl with olive skin, her black hair pulled back into a braid and bright blue eyes. Hiro blushed red, as she smiled. Adrien gulped, recalling a girl he knew with the same exact bright smile.
"You won!" the girl's mother cried, hugging her.
"Amaya, you fought beautifully." her father declared.
Amaya smiled and bowed, "Father." turning away from the Agreste family.
She peeked up and saw her father with his arms open. She quickly hugged him.
Kagami pouted as her son seemed enthralled by the newest champion. She was sure he would be furious that he had lost and for a short period, he was. He walked up to the champion only to have her father glare at him. He flinched and took a step back as the man stepped in front of his daughter.
'His glare is worse than Mother and Grandfather's combined. It's like looking Death in the face.'
"Father." Amaya hissed.
Damian looked from his daughter to his wife, to find she was also glaring at him. He relented and backed up to let his daughter out from behind him.
"I had fun." Amaya declared, holding out her hand, "I wouldn't mind a rematch when we can meet up again."
The Agreste heir grabbed Amaya's hand and kissed it.
"My name is Hiro Agreste." he smiled
"Adrien?" the mother shouted.
Hiro looked from Amaya to her mother, back to his father. Amaya's mother smiled and his father's cheeks flushed.
"It's me!" she cried out, "Marinette! Marinette Dupain-Cheng; well, it's Marinette Wayne now."
"Mari?" his father shouted.
With a nod, Adrien quickly pushed his son out of the way and knocked him to the floor. Amaya quickly jumped back. Adrien was quick to bring Mairnette into his arms.
"I missed you!" Adrien cried out, "You never came back!"
Damian yanked Adrien off of his wife and tossed him next to his son. He pulled both of his girls close.
"Fuck off, Agreste." Damian growled, "You can't have my wife or my daughter!"
Both Adrien and his son paled. Marinette giggled and kissed her husband's cheek.
"Never in a million years, Habibi." Mari answered.
"You seriously think a smile is going to sway me, Father?" Amaya questioned, "You raised me to see through deception. The look of innocence is the most misleading."
Damian Wayne stood taller with their declarations.
"Was this Amaya's first tournament?" Kagami questioned, breaking the tension?
"No. I'm on the fencing team and gymnastics team at my school. I go to a lot of tournaments, but, um-" she answered, hesitantly.
"Amaya only turned fourteen this year and wasn't able to participate, last year." Marinette explained.
"She also landed herself in the hospital the day of our flight." Damian declared, "We had been prepared to scout out the competition for this year."
"Are you okay?" Hiro asked.
Amaya smiled, "Oh yeah. It was nothing."
"Nothing?" Marinette hissed, "You had a broken leg and fractured your arm! Tell me I'm over reacting."
"You're over reacting." Damian and Amaya responded.
"I don't want to hear it from you." Mari glared at her husband.
Damian sighed and looked away. Adrien smiled at the way Marinette took charge.
'I knew she had it in her.'
"Oh!" Marinette cried, as her alarm went off.
Damian turned to his wife, "Is that for your appointment?"
"Yes." Marinette answered.
"I'll get my things." Amaya replied, "Father, take Mother to the car and I will meet you there."
"Appointment?" Adrien questioned.
Mari smiled and placed a hand on her stomach, "Amaya has a younger sibling on the way."
"Congradulations, Marinette." Kagami responded.
Marinette nodded and turned to leave.
"Bye, Hiro." Amaya smiled and waved, as she chased after her parents.
Hiro sighed with a smile. Kagami facepalmed at her son's obvious crush.
'Just like his Father. Better get this over with now.'
"You like her." Kagami stated.
Hiro tensed under his mother's stare.
"N-No." he murmured.
'Oh god, he gained Adrien's idiocy for feelings.'
"Son, never hesitate when it comes to your heart." she declared.
"Did you see him?" Hiro shouted, "He's scarier then Grandpa and Grandma combined; I can't win there!"
Kagami sighed, "At least you are not calling her a friend, yet. She could have been your sister if your father wasn't oblivious."
"What do you mean?" Hiro questioned.
"Marinette is just a friend." Mrs. Agreste smirked, looking at her husband.
"She is!" Adrien exclaimed.
"Your face still lights up the same way, since we were fourteen, when you see her." Kagami declared.
"I haven't seen her since she was sixteen!" Adrien declared.
Kagami rolled her eyes, as her husband brushed off her statement.
"Wait!" Hiro shouted, "What do you mean my sister?"
"If your father wasn't so blind, he would have noticed Marinette Wayne crushing extremely hard on him when we were teenagers. She had dates and a wedding dress in mind, but your father asked her for help on dating me. We became friends and she backed off." Kagami announced.
Hiro turned to look at his father. He saw his dad had gone ghost white.
"You're lying." Adrien spoke.
Kagami shrugged, "Call anyone from your old class and they will tell you otherwise. Alya told me she wanted three children with you, named Emma, Hugo, and Louis. You were a blind teen. It appears she found someone who saw her not just as a friend. Good for her."
Kagami began to walk away with her husband and son at her heels questioning her about the past.

Daminette December 2022: 31-New Beginnings
Damian sighed. He was already loathing the thought of school. It wasn't the thought of the girls who threw themselves at him or a test he hadn't studied for; No, he had lost a bet.
Jon was already smiling as Damian exited the car.
"As per the rules of the bet," Jon announced, "had I lost, I was to sneak into Pa's sanctuary and take a picture as proof. Since you lost,-"
"I have to make a 'flirty comment' to the first girl I see." Damian continued.
"Once you are inside the school." Jon stated.
"Right." he grumbled.
'Let's just get this over with. Whatever stupid girl that becomes infatuated with me and follows me, I can just tell her it was part of a bet. That should get her to leave me alone.'
Damian and Jon walked into the school. Damian quickly turned around to see what girl would be coming next up the stairs.
"How was Heaven when you left it, Angel?" Damian questioned.
'That should suffice. It sounded like some ridiculous thing Grayson would say.'
Damian already opened his mouth to mention it was just part of a bet. He expected her to throw herself at him, ask him about when they could date, but he never expected to see her glaring at him. He hadn't remembered seeing a girl with eyes this blue before.
She pointed at him and jabbed him in his chest, "I will snap you like a twig. Never speak to me like that again."
'An accent?'
Then, she was gone. Damian quickly turned to see her walking towards the Dean's office.
"Damian, please don't hurt her." Jon whispered, grabbing onto his arm, "I think she's new."
The Wayne heir closed his eyes and exhaled.
'She doesn't even know who I am.'
Damian Wayne was trained as an assassin. He trained with ninjas. It wasn't hard to follow the new girl around. He needed to explain what happened this morning. Usually, he wouldn't bother to explain himself, but he had to!
Damian spotted her in the hall. He walked quickly behind her and touched her shoulder, to gain her attention. He didn't expect her to grab his wrist, twist his arm, and bring him to his knees. Damian saw Jon freeze near him. He could see panic cross his face.
"Can I help you with something?" Marinette questioned, "You've been following me all day."
'She noticed me?'
"I wanted to apologize for my comment this morning." Damian began to explain, "My friend and I had a bet; I lost. I had to make a flirtatious remark to the first female I laid eyes upon once I was inside the school."
Marinette let go of his arm, but glared at him nonetheless. She watched him warily.
'Green eyes. Why do green eyes always start off being honest?'
Mari sighed, "Thank you. I'm sorry if I was too rough."
"You defended yourself admirably." Damian replied.
Everyone that had been watching, let out a breath of relief.
"I tried." she smiled, "Probably not as good as someone born in Gotham."
"I moved here seven years ago." Damian answered.
Jon couldn't believe he was hearing Damian's heart race.
"I want to apologize. I have been on edge and I promised myself I wouldn't be the same person I was back in Paris." she spoke.
"Same person?" asked Jon, unconsciously.
"A spineless nobody." Marinette frowned, "Thank you for apologizing."
Marinette turned and began to walk away.
"I didn't get your name." Damian called out.
"Marinette." she spoke.
"Damian." he answered.
"Oh." Mari spoke up, "Just for future reference, puns are horrible and aren't cute. Never use a pun to flirt with me, unless you want to be punched in the face." and walked away.
Damian gulped.
'She really is an angel.'

Daminette December 2022: 11-Art (PART 2)
PART 2 OF AMBUSH
Damian had been holed up in his painting room for the last 2 weeks. He went to school, but returned back to the room once he got back. Alfred had taken to bringing tea and snacks to the room.
Bruce knocked on the door.
"A classmate is here, Damian." Bruce announced.
Damian sighed.
'Father is going to make me act civil and go downstairs. This is going to be bothersome and a waste of my time. I would prefer to stay in here and paint.'
"Alfred has her in the kitchen." Bruce called out.
'Her? What annoyance decided to act like she knew me, this time?'
"Who?" Damian sighed.
"Marinette?" Bruce answered.
Damian thought of how she helped him get away from the harpies in the library. Marinette was quick and smart. She made him appear to be in a relationship, without placing herself in the line of fire. He recalled how she lit up when she talked about art and fashion. She didn't brag about her own accomplishments or tried to show off to him. She kept her focus on the assignment, the whole time, and barely looked at him. It had been simple to talk with her. It had been, as if, she completely forgot that she had been close enough for him to smell the mint off her breath, the jasmine scent wafting off her clothes, and the shine on her lips.
"Very well." he spoke.
Damian washed off his paintbrushes and made sure to grab his key. He walked out and immediatley saw the disapproval on his father's face. He looked down. Damian saw he was in black sweats a muscle shirt, revealing his scars. He looked at paint on himself and his clothes, but he locked the door, anyways.
"You should clean up." Bruce insisted.
"It's fine." he commented and made his way down.
Marinette easily spotted Damian walking towards her, with paint on his face and clothes.
"Oh my god." she gasped, "I'm so sorry! Am I distracting you from your painting?"
"I'll return to it later." Damian replied.
"No! I can come back tomorrow!" Marinette declared, grabbing her things, "I know I get lost when I design. I barely come out of my room. People have to remind me to eat and sleep."
Damian chuckled in response. Bruce thought Damian hadn't cared about his appearance because he was going to refuse them, but that didin't seem to be the case here. Bruce was shocked by the moment; He had never seen Damian act this way. Damian actually seemed to have a familiar sense with this girl and she didn't seem to mind his attitude.
"You....Your words inspired me, last time." the Wayne heir admitted.
"Oh?" Mari spoke.
"I was painting my mother." he stated.
'Talia?'
"Then, that is definetly more important than a class assignment that isn't due for two more weeks." Marinette declared.
"No." Damian replied, "This may help with the memories. As you stated, I must spend time away to refocus. We'll go to my room."
"I'm sure you don't want me to see it. I know I like my stuff private until I decide to share." Mari responded.
Damian smirked, "It's in different room."
Marinette smiled, "If we ever go to my place, we're staying in the living room. We might sit on a pin or needle in mine. I keep losing my pins and end up finding them later."
As they walked away, Bruce turned to Alfred.
"The boys can never meet her, unless he proposes." Bruce declared.
Alfred just smiled. It seemed the young Wayne was finally growing up.
A couple months later was Valentine's Day. Everyone in Gotham Academy was excited. Many of them had chocolates and cards to give to their friends or loved ones. For some of them, it was 'Confession Day'. Many students were shocked to see Damian Wayne hand Marinette Dupain-Cheng a box.
"Why is he giving her chocolate?"
"How long have they been dating?"
"They're dating?"
"Are you sure?"
"Some girls were crying last year about him making out in the library."
"Did they see Marinette?"
"I don't know?"
"I thought she was single!"
"Yeah, I asked her about her plans for today. She said she had none."
"Is Damian Wayne confessing to her?"
Marinette smiled as she took the box.
"May I open it?" she asked.
Damian nodded. Once she had gotten the wrapping off, she laughed and hugged him.
"These are so cute!" Mari chimed, "I've never seen these before."
"I made them." Damian admitted.
"He made her chocolate?"
"I thought he couldn't cook."
Marinette pulled out what looked like a giant round ball.
"That's not chocolate."
"What is that?"
"It looks like a hacky sack."
"Maybe he really can't cook."
"You made these pin cushions for me?" she questioned, looking at the hand made assortment of macarons, chocolates, and a giant loaf of bread.
"It seemed fitting." he answered, "You informed me you grew up in a bakery and that you kept losing your pins and sewing needles."
"I love them. This is better than any chocolate or card I could have gotten." Mari smiled, before kissing his cheek, "I-I do have some macarons for you."
Marinette pulled a small box out of her bag.
"You told me that you weren't fond of sweets so these are tea flavored. I have chai, matcha, salted caramel, and earl grey." she stated.
"I will try them at lunch today." Damian spoke, "Perhaps, with you?"
"I'd love to." Marinette smiled.
Word quickly spread throughout the school that the Ice Prince was after the Fashion Princess.

Daminette Decmeber 2022: 24-Joke (Meme)
Lila smiled as she sat on top of a red Chevrolet Corvette. It had been so easy to lie to Alya and tell her it was hers. It had been in the same place all week.
'This is going to show everyone I'm still relevant. Gabriel never should have let me go!'
Alya smiled as she quickly took pictures and then brought up her live feed to show how amazing her best frined was. There had been some haters on there criticizing her blog and saying mean things about her friend. She was about to prove them all wrong.
"Get off of my car, Lila!" a voice shouted.
Alya turned herself, with her phone, to see Marinette with her arms crossed and her hips cocked.
"Your car?" Alya shouted.
Lila laughed, "You would never be able to afford this car. You're just a baker's daughter."
Alya and Lila laughed. Marinette glared at the pair and pulled out her car keys. She waved the keys in the air, before pressing a button and showing who the true owner of the car was. Lila turned bright red, having her lie exposed by the same girl again.
"Get off my car, Liar, before I call the police on you." Marinette demanded.
Lila quickly got off the car.
"How can you afford something like this?" Alya asked.
"My husband got it for me for my birthday." Marinette smiled, "I doubt you'd be able to afford something like this."
"I'm a fashion model and designer for Gabriel!" Lila exclaimed, "I'm gonna be in the fashion show! He personally asked me to be his model in his collaboration with that new designer, Zara."
Mari laughed, "Oh yeah. You're definetly still a liar."
"I am not!" Lila cried.
Alya looked between the two and then down at her phone. She had forgotten she was live, but the comment section was flying! They were laughing.
"Fakers!"
"I told you that Lie-La girl was full of shit!"
"Have you looked up her other lies?"
"Did you hear her claim the car was hers?"
"Wasn't she fired from Gabriel?"
"Haven't seen her anywhere but on this blog."
"This isn't a live stream; It's a LIE stream!"
"LOL"
"HAHAHA"
"LMAO"
Alya glared at the comment section and quickly shut down the live stream.
"Marinette!" a familiar voice called.
"Adrien!" Marinette cried back, happily.
Adrien quickly hugged Marinette, "You think your husband would mind if you give me a ride to the fashion show?"
"Of course not." Mari smiled, "You're my model after all."
'Adrien's her model? What about Gabriel?'
Alya turned to Lila. She could see she was upset. Alya turned back to ask what was going on.
"Hands off my wife, Agreste!" another voice shouted.
Lila and Alya stared at the new man. He was tall, broad-chested, had olive skin, forest green eyes, and jet black hair. He was dressed in a black suit and tie.
'That's Marinette's husband?'
"Damian!" Marinette cried, quickly rushing over and kissing him, "Adrien needs a ride to the show. I can't leave my model behind."
Damain looked at Adrien, who was pleading. His eyes kept shifting to the other woman nearby.
"Fine." Damian stated.
"Yes!" Adrien shouted.
"Back seat!" the Wayne commanded.
Adrien smiled and saluted, "Yes, Sir!"
Marinette unlocked the car and Adrien was quick to jump into the back seat.
"Why don't you let me drive, Angel?" Damian asked, "I know your nerves."
Marinette handed the keys over. Both Waynes climbed into the front seat and drove off, without another word.
"Oh, no!" Lila quickly cried out, "I'm going to be late to the show! I have to be there early!" before running off.
Alya smiled, as she proudly showed off her media badge. She hated reporting fashion. She never had the passion for it, but Lila had helped her get the job. She couldn't wait to see her on the runway, but walk after walk, she saw didn't see her. She knew she had seen Natalie so that only confirmed that Gabriel and Adrien were backstage with Lila.
Alya smiled and quickly took pictures as Adrien walked out.
'There he is! Lila should be coming out next!'
Adrien stood at the end of the runway and picked up a mic.
"Let me introduce you to the one and only designer known as Zara!" he announced, "Marinette Wayne!"
Alya almost dropped her camera.
'No! No! That can't be! Lila wouldn't have lied to me! She told me she was working with Zara...but she also said that was her corvette. Lila....lied to me.'
"Thank you for all coming to the fashion event and we will see you all next year!" someone announced.
Alya quickly looked around. Marinette and Adrien had already left the runway. She looked around and saw that many people were getting out of their seats and heading next door to the after party. She had so many questions for them. Why had Lila not modeled? Why was Adrien working with Marinette and not his father? Lila had said that Adrien wasn't even speaking to Marinette; that he hated her, but that wasn't true from what she saw earlier.
Alya pulled out her phone and opened up her blog. Thousands of subscribers were gone. Her eyes teared up as she read the comment section.
"Thx @chuckleslamby for recommending me this blog!"
"OMG! Did you see that @FennicGod?"
"@TrashySpacePanda"
"@Spiltteacorner"
"That was as funny as they said it would be! LOL!"
"If you need a good laugh, always the best place!"
"Comedy blog GOLD!"
"Fake ppl who act like they know everything. Almost as good as the ppl who get karma!"
Alya bit her lip to keep herself from sobbing. These weren't the loyal followers she had expected. These were people who loved to laugh and make fun of her and Lila. They knew everything had been a lie up to now and she had been so blind to it all. That was the moment she knew that was why she didn't have a real journalist job.
Alya watched from nearby as Adrien spoke to Marinette and her husband, like nothing had ever changed, since college. She didn't know Marinette had gotten married. Gabriel Agreste was even talking to her like she was a big deal.
"I'm so proud to see the wonderful designer you have blossomed into." Gabriel spoke.
"We loved having you both at the wedding." Marinette smiled, "Thank you for helping me, again, with my wedding dress. You both have done so much for me."
Adrien hugged Marinette again, "I'd do anything for you."
Damian quickly pulled Marinette into his arms, "What you can do for me, is stop grabbing my wife."
Marinette giggled, "Adrien's always been a bit touchy with me." earning her husband's famous glare thrown Adrien's way, "Don't worry, Habibi. Adrien knows I can hurt him if he touches somewhere he's not suppose to."
"And your husband would kill me if I did." Adrien winced.
"True." Damian smirked.
"Adrien only gets hugs and head pats." Mari declared, "Besides, I'm sure Adrien will have a new person to hug and cuddle since he'll be an uncle."
Damian and Adrien looked at her confused.
"Congradulations." replied Gabriel.
"Thank you, Gabriel." Marinette answered.
Damian kissed her head, "You are 100% correct?"
Mari nodded and leaned intot her husband more.
"I don't get it." Adrien frowned.
The fashion designer chuckled, "I'm pregnant."
Adrien pulled her back into his arms and shouted, "I'm an uncle!"
Gabriel smirked as Damian rolled his eyes, before pulling Marinette back to his side.
"I'll help!" Adrien exclaimed, "I'll move to Gotham and-"
"You can help spoil, but I think that's it, as far as 'Uncle Duties' go." Marinette giggled, "Damian will be doing everything else."
"Right." Adrien blushed.
Nothing was like Lila had told her. Marinette was happy with her life. She had a loving husband and a child on the way. Adrien still seemed to be a big part of her life as a brother figure. Alya walked out of the party and saw Lila sitting on the steps, looking miserable.
"I should be happy you look like shit." Alya commented.
Lila turned and glared at her, as she sat on the steps in her glittery black corset dress.
'She's never looked at me like that before. Why? Is it because I know she lied to me?'
"It's what I should say for you lying to me so much." she stated.
Lila rolled her eyes, "What do you want then? A prize? A trophy? The 'You Fucked Up' award?".
'This isn't the Lila I know. This girl is bitter. Did she lie because she knew Marinette was happy? Is Lila unhappy? Did I ever know the real Lila?'
Lila sighed, "Like I told that bitch in college, I only tell people what they want to hear. It was easy to fool you all to doing what I wanted you to do. I didn't expect it to come to an end, tonight."
'A fool. That's all I am to her? Not even her best friend?'
"Including yourself?" Alya growled out, rushing back inside.
Lila stood up and began to walk home. Lila ignored the tears pouring down her cheeks.
'Yeah. I lie to myself the most.'
Lila had tried her hardest to get backstage and into the event, but had been caught by Gabriel Agreste. She had begged him to let her be in his fashion line. She never expected him to tell her he had signed over Gabriel to Marinette and merged the company, years ago. The Gabriel brand no longer existed; it was a apart of Zara, now. He couldn't pull any strings for her as Marinette and Adrien had restraining orders on her, he reminded her. Marinette ran the business, completely. She was the brains and artist behin the brand. He would submit deisgns every now and then, but other then that, he had been vacationing the last couple years.
Lila slumped against the door as she made her way into her apartment and sighed.
'So much for my grand re-entrance.'

Daminette December 2022: 16-Chaos
Alya smiled and fixed Adrien's hair.
"There she is, just like I told you she would be." she smiled.
"Are you sure, Alya?" Adrien asked, nervously, "She looks busy."
Adrien looked back into the park and saw Marinette sketching by a picnic basket.
"Look, the date is all planned out." Alya spoke, "She has a picnic basket and is just waiting for you. I'm sure she brought things you are allowed to eat. You don't want to keep her waiting, right?"
"R-Right." he answered, unsure of himself.
Adrien took a deep breath and made his way into the park.
Marinette smiled as she sketched out a new dress.
'I can't wait for him to get here. I'm sure he'll like the surprise.'
Marinette watched as a shadow began to lengthen on her sketchbook.
"Hey." she spoke, but as she turned, a flash of yellow was all she saw.
Marinette turned quickly, panicked, and reached into her purse. She quickly used sprayed the pepper spray Damian had given her. At the sound of a scream, Marinette took off and ran past the trees. She quickly pulled out her phone and called the police.
"Help! Someone approached me in the park. I had to use pepper spray." Marinette explained, rapidly.
"How old are you?" they asked.
"Seventeen." she sniffled.
The dispatch could hear how panicked she was and said, "We're sending someone to you."
Marinette quickly texted Damian.
Angel: Hurry, plz!!!!
People passing by came up to her and asked her if she was okay.
"Are you okay, Sweetie?"
"Do I need to call anyone for you?"
"You were very brave."
"You were on the phone. Did you call your mom or dad?"
"Did you call the police?"
Marinette nodded. When they realized she wasn't in complete control of her breathing, one lady helped steady her and lowed her to the floor. Alya quickly rushed over and grabbed her by her shoulders.
"What the hell were you thinking, Marinette?" she shouted, "Do you even realize what you have done? Who you have hurt?"
Marinette didn't get a chance to answer. The strangers were quick to shove Alya away. They didn't let her get close to Mari again. One was trying to help her regulate her breathing. The rest had formed a barrier Marinette having a panic attack and the new girl on the scene yelling at her.
Damian got to the park and saw the park was divided by cops and people standing around another one, with someone yelling. Damian walked towards the police, but saw them pouring water onto the face of a boy his age.
'Not Marinette.'
He quickened his pace to the crowd and the shouting.
"I can't believe you did that!" the girl was shouting.
The Wayne heir peered though the crowd and saw his angel on the ground, hyperventilating.
"Marinette!" he shouted, shoving his way through the crowd.
Marinette turned at the sound of Damian's voice and launched herself into his arms.
"I-I was so scared." she began to sob, "I was waiting for you and someone got close to me. I saw yellow. You don't wear yellow."
"Shh, Haibibiti." Damian whispered, "I'm here."
The crowd noticed that whoever this guy was, could calm her down much better than they could. Alya stared, puzzled at the scene before her.
'Who is this guy and why is Mari hugging him?'
Officer Raincomprix walked towards the crowd, with Adrien Agreste in handcuffs. His hair was dripping wet and a mess, resembling more of a drowned cat then a model. His clothes were covered in grass stains and the area around his eyes were red. Natalie quickly rushed out of the car once she saw the situation Adrien was in.
"He says you know him." Roger announced, "That he was here for a planned date with you."
'A date? Damian is holding onto me. Who thought I would date them?'
Marinette could feel Damian tense up and ready to fight. She peeled her face out of Damian's chest and spotted Adrien Agreste.
"Adrien?" she questioned, "I-I know him, but I don't know anything about a date. I-"
"Why are you lying?" Alya shouted, pushing her way to the front of the crowd, "This is just like you bullying Lila! You make excuses! I sent you the plan weeks ago! Do you just like the attention? You had the whole picnic set up and-"
"Silence!" Damian growled, glaring at Alya.
"Alya, you don't have my number." Mari spoke.
"Yes, I do." she sneered, showing her phone, "It says MariBFF."
"It may say that, but we're not friends." Mari replied, "I changed my number, last year."
Alya stammered, "Bu-but the picnic!"
"It's for me and my boyfriend." Marinette answered, "It's our two year anniversary."
Damian immediately pulled Marinette closer to his side. He turned and glared at Adrien. Adrien shifted nervously under the glare. It didn't help that he had been publicly rejected and humiliated for going after someone else's girlfriend.
"Will you be pressing charges on him, Ma'am?" Roger asked.
"Yes." Damian answered.
"No, Dami. It's okay." Mari replied.
"Angel." he growled.
"If people use enough colorful and pretty words on him, he'll be convinced of anything." she stated.
"That's not true." Adrien cried.
"The high road." Mari hissed, glaring at him.
Adrien flinched. Alya looked between them confused.
"But you have such a giant crush on him!" she exclaimed, noting to go back to the subject another time..
"I did; when I was fourteen." Marinette stated, "I haven't had feelings for him for a long time."
"You would have told me!" Alya shouted.
"I told you before, but you laughed at me. You told me I'd have feelings for him again in a week. Later, you asked about my feelings and I told you-I told you 'No'. You rolled your eyes at me and told me 'Suuuure'. You're still the same stubborn bitch who won't listen to anyone, but the sound of your own voice. You only listen to those you believe are right!" Marinette declared.
Alya and Adrien looked at her in disbelief.
'She doesn't like me, anymore!'
'No! After all the perfect planning; I had this! Adrien finally likes her!'
"How many times have you screamed in my face, after listening to a liar?" Marinette asked, "How many times over the last three years have you told me that we're not friends? How many times have you texted me, at night, to kill myself and told me how I deserved to die for what I have supposedly done to your best friend? Why do you think I changed my number?"
Adrien looked at Alya in horror.
"What?" he whispered, in shock.
"This is what your high road has done, Adrien." Marinette shouted.
"But I-" he began.
"What is the high road?" Alya interrupted.
"Adrien told me to let Lila lie and everything would be revealed, eventually. You would all figure out how much of a liar she is, we'll laugh about it, and go about our merry way as friends." Marinette smiled, "This isn't a Disney movie, Adiren. It's bullshit and what made me lose my feelings for you. You told me you would have my back, but the lies kept coming. I lost my friends. I got bullied by them and you did nothing. You're not my friend and I don't see us ever being friends again!"
"But Mari-" he tried to speak.
"I don't know why you would think I have feelings for you!" Marinette continued to rant, "We don't talk anymore. We don't even hang out. Maybe this was some cooked up plan by Lila to see me humiliated and laughed at because she has feelings for you. That's why she threatened me, anyways, because I was in her way. Too bad, she didn't know about Kagami at the time. Kagami told me about smacking her with a kendo stick when she didn't let go of you. It's still funny to think about, but I guess that was too much for you; you broke up with her a week later. Or did your father make you because his muse was injured and it was your fault for not stopping it? You're too weak when it comes to conflict."
"Well said, Habibiti." Damian declared, "Very well, we won't press charges, at the moment. If either of you continue to harass my girlfriend, I won't hesitate to sue you. From the sounds of it, you'll be spending a long time in prison, if they pull your phone records."
Alya paled.
Adrien was released from the handcuffs and released into the custody of Natalie. She grabbed his shoulder and glared at him.
"We're heading home, Adrien." Natalie insisted.
"Oh!" quickly spoke up Marinette.
"Yes, Miss Dupain-Cheng?" Natalie questioned.
Marinette smiled, "I'd look into reaching out to Lila's mother. Lila has a tendency to lie and forge signatures. No one has actually ever seen her relatives."
Natalie tensed up and nodded, quickly guiding Adrien to the car.
"Why don't we take the food you prepared to the hotel?" Damian suggested, "I'd rather you feel comfortable and safe. I can put up with my father and Todd's prattling."
"Are you sure?" Mari asked.
Damian nodded. Marinette smiled at her boyfriend. He took her hand and guided her to the picnic area. Damian picked up the blanket, as Marinette grabbed the basket.
People began to walk away from the scene. Alya stood there in disbelief. She felt a hand on her shoulder and jumped. Alya turned and the lady noticed the tears in the corner of her eyes.
"Perhaps, you should listen to her." the lady spoke, "It's never too late to change."
"B-But if she's right, I-I did so much." Alya sobbed, "I hurt her."
"Have you ever heard the legend of the phoenix?" the lady asked.
Alya nodded.
"Then, be a phoenix." she stated, "Rise from the ashes. Show her you can change. She still might not be your friend, but at least, you'll know the truth." and with that, she was gone.
Alya bit her lip and rushed home. She set her mind on looking up all of Lila Rossi's achievements. She'd find out if she really lost her best friend for no reason.

Daminette December 2022: 25-Demon/Angel
Damian sighed as he walked into the community center. He had been assigned community service for punching someone at school. The school had thought it was best for the youngest Wayne to see the consequences of his actions and what his actions could lead to. They volunteered him to work in a reformitory.
Damian looked around the room of people. It reminded him of Arkham, just less yelling and screaming. One person caught his eye; a girl staring out the window. She sat perfectly still on the windowsill.
'Who is she? Why is she alone?'
Damian quickly grabbed the clipboard out of the attendant's hand.
"Hey!" they cried.
He flipped through the pages quickly and found her: Marinette Dupain-Cheng. He shoved the clipboard back and started walking towards her. They grabbed his arm.
"I wouldn't go near her." they whispered, "We go told very bad things about her. She's very violent."
'These people are idiots.'
Damian walked up to the sill.
"Hello." he spoke.
Marinette didn't speak or turn at the sound of his voice.
"Not one for words?" Damian questioned.
"Words are filled with lies." she stated.
'Progress.'
"I am told you are violent." he continued.
She sighed and continued looking out the window.
"I do not believe them." he concluded.
Marinette turned and looked at him, shocked. Damian noticed tears build up befre she quickly shut down her emotions.
"So what?" Mari questioned.
"I am sentenced for one month to work here for two hours, three times a week." Damian informed her.
"Lucky you." she declared.
"I would rather spend time with you than with idiots." he stated, "I can tell you are not like the others."
As he turned to leave, he said his name was Damian and left.
It took until the very last day for him to get her to open up once more.
"I was never violent." Marinette whispered, still looking out the window, "Not until the end."
"The end?" Damian asked.
"I snapped." she sniffled, "My parents sent me here because the couldn't 'control' me anymore. That's a lie."
"Why don't you tell me when everything went wrong." He spoke.
She shrugged, "Why not? I get out of here in a week. I'll be eighteen by then and I'm suppose to get my stuff from them. I'm never going home. I grew up in Paris, France and my parents were bakers. Everything started with a new transfer student; she was a liar. I could see through her façade, but no one else could. She lied to people like we breathed oxygen."
"I confronted her. She said she was only 'telling people what they wanted to hear'." Mari sighed, "Nice to know people wanted to think so badly of you, huh. Anyways, she faked disabilities, told lies about going places, made up connections to celebrities. I tried to tell my friends, my classmates, but they wouldn't listen. One of them knew she was a liar and said it was better to let her lie; that everyone would find out eventually. Later, she started to spread rumors about me, saying that I was bullying her, sending her threatening texts, calling her at all hours so she couldn't sleep. It was all over a boy she wanted me to stay away from who was my friend. There even came a point where I got expelled because of her."
"And you proved your innocence." he smirked.
"If only." Marinette answered, "I never got a chance to defend myself. There had been a tip to the teacher that the answer sheet for a test was in my bag. My idiot teacher had already graded the tests with it, but I somehow needed it. When I accused her, we were sent to the office, together. She walked down a whole flight of stairs and then started screaming that I pushed her."
"Did they not check the footage?" Damian growled.
"Nope. The principal listened to people with money and powerful parents more. I was just a baker's daughter. Why would the daughter of an Italian diplomat lie?" Mari waved off, "She wasn't sent to the nurse or a hospital. She then accused me of stealing a necklace that was an heirloom. It was really a Gabriel necklace that had come out five months prior, but the 'evidence' was there. So, I was expelled."
"How were you reinstated?" he questioned.
Marinette laughed, "The bitch claimed to have a lying disease that made her fabricate evidence under stress."
Damian gripped his jeans as tight as he could to stop himself from running off.
"Not sure when it started, but eveyone started telling my parents how 'awful' I was to her." Marinette stated, turning back to the window.
"And they believed them?" he asked.
Marinette nodded, "Soon, it wasn't just her bullying me, threatening me. She got the whole class to do it. They started tripping me, destroying my homework, my designs, spilled coffee on me and played it off on my own clumsiness. One day, she said I chased her until she twisted her ankle."
"What happened?" Damian pushed.
"That was the day I snapped." Mari replied, "I don't remember what happened. I was sitting in the back of the class and the next thing I know, I was being pulled off of her. She had a broken , fractured jaw, and was bleeding a lot. I'm told I just kept callign her a liar over and over, but I don't know. Then, I was sent here. I've been here for....two years, I think?"
'I was right. This isn't a violent girl. This girl is an angel and she plummeted.'
"May I hug you?" Damian asked, suddenly.
Marinette turned quickly. He could see her face had turned bright red and she was shocked by his gesture. Damian leaned in and held her close.
"I do not believe you are bad." he whispered, "I think you are a better person than most."
Marinette shakily brought her hands around him and began to sob.
"What was that girl's name?" Damian probed.
Mari sniffled and pulled away. She wiped her tears, like nothing had ever happened, and turned bac to look out the window.
"Layla Rossi. She went by Lila." she answered, "I don't know if it's still with my things, but I kept a journal about everything. You can read it if you want. I decided to keep it as a reminder to never let it happen again; that I never needed friends, again."
Damian stood up and placed a hand on her head. He smirked as he walked away and explained he had permission to look though her belongings. He found the journal and smiled. Marinette had no idea she had just made a deal with a demon.
Damian sat in front of the batcomputer. It had been easy to find article in Paris about the incident. Marinette's name hadn't been mentioned, but Lila's was everywhere. It had made headlines that Gabriel Agreste's muse had been beaten up and bullied by another girl and had to take time off from modeling. Lila had painted herself as the ultimate victim saying she was being bullied for trying to protect Adrien Agreste from the girl. Other people backed up her statement by saying she had been obsessed with the male model.
Damian looked at Adrien Agreste's picture on file and glared.
'Blonde hair. Green eyes. Clone of his mother. Recently started school at age thirteen. What a joke. He's not even that good looking.'
It wasn't even a challenge to find where everything took place. Neither of their social medias were private. There were pictures of the school on both accounts and they had the same circle of friends. Damian hacked into the school and began to go through the dates in Marinette's journal. It was all there: the bullying, the tripping, being shoved and threatened. She had been right; no one had even looked. He quickly started downloading all the evidence.
"What are you doing, Damian?" Bruce spoke, suddenly.
Damian handed over Marinette's journal. Bruce looked from the pink book to the screens. It was easy to see he wasn't pleased.
"This girl is in the program I was sent to." Damian declared, "I want her here. I want her to work for us. We would have to help her get her GED, but it shouldn't be too difficult."
"You want her in the manor?" Bruce inquired.
"And at Wayne Enterprise." his son answered, flipping to the back of the book, "She's a designer. Her name was mentioned by several celebrities and had backing before all of this. I assume the person let their emotions get the better of them and was jealous. Everything about the bully revolved around her and making her appear better then Marinette. She claimed to know celebrities that the designer knows. The designer was friends prior with the Agreste child and had won a contest. What better way then to take the designer the Agreste turned away than to take her for ourselves?"
"We can have her make suits to the next gala and see how the do as a trial." Bruce declared.
"She gets out next week." Damian replied, "We can get her, then.
"Why wait?" his father asked.
"She'll be eighteen by then." Damian smirked, "Her parents won't be able to do a thing."
Bruce smiled at his son's remark.
Damian arrived with Bruce, next to him. Marinete looked at them confused.
"We are taking you home with us." Damian declared.
Marinette looked between the both of them in shock, "What?"
"We have already made a room for you in our home." Bruce spoke.
"Why?" Mari asked.
"We are going to help you graduate so you can work on your own." Damian answered, "You wanted to be an individual who did not need to rely on anyone, if I remember correctly. Get your things."
Marinette stared in shock at the size of Wayne Manor. Damian helped her place everything in her new room, while Bruce gathered up the rest of the boys for dinner. Mari set her clothes on the bed and turned to Damian.
"Why?" she questioned, "I still don't understand."
"Someone clipped your wings, Angel." Damian answered, "No one should have made you fall to my level."
"What level is that?" Marinette asked.
"Hell." He smirked.
"You, Demon Spawn!" Jason interrupted, "Quit flirting. Alfred says dinner is in five minutes. "
Marinette blushed at the implications. Sure, Damian had brought her into his home, but she doubt that was the reason why. At dinner, Mari found out that Damian was Bruce's only son; everyone else had been adopted. They all had hard lives growing up and Bruce had taken them in without a second thought. The older boys had teased Damian for following in his Father's footsteps in taking in blue eyed people in need. All of them made her feel welcome. They told her they would take her around the city to elp her get use to the area. Alfred was happy to have another person to cook with. That itself had earned some of the boys to look away and find the idea of paint appealing.
"Am I adopted now?" Marinette questioned.
"No." Dick answered, "You're eighteen so you just live here."
Marinette smiled, "Thank you."
Damian walked Marinette back to her room.
"Don't worry, you will get use to the manor, eventually." Damian stated, "We just don't want you getting lost. I have a surprise for you tomorrow morning."
Marinette looked at him confused, but nodded. She wasn't sure what else Damian could give her. He had given her a roof over her head, a place to eat, and a way to get her life back together. She laid down on the softest bad she had felt and passed out.
Damian glared at the screen as he sent the emails and videos to the correct people in mind. He sent everything to the school board anonymously and also to the news outlet in Paris.
"You good?" Jason questioned, "You sort of have an Al Ghul face going on."
"Just.....getting some revenge." he answered.
"You know Bruce-" Tim began.
"Approved." Damian declared.
The three boys looked at each other and then back at their youngest sibling.
"How?" Dick asked.
Damian sighed and brought up the footage of Marinette being beaten and then someone claiming she had started the fight. They weren't happy with what they were seeing. Marinette was docile and now they could see why. It was going to be challenge to get her to speak up.
"How can we help?" Jason demanded.
Lila woke up to the sound of her phone vibrating uncontrollably on her night stand. She rubbed her eyes and yawned. She picked up her phone to see what was going on.
'Did Gabriel come out with the new catalog?'
Lila clicked on social media and was shocked to see that she was being called a liar.
'What is going on?'
She clicked on a link and saw footage of her shoving Marinette down on the floor and then kicking her, while she laughed. At the sound of footsteps, she saw herself rip her own shirt and slap her face. When the adult came into view, Lila ran and hugged her, thanking her for coming to her rescue. She lied and wailed how Marinette started to beat her and she had to defend herself against the bully. She was so scared.
'No! Who posted this? This is going to ruin my reputation.'
There was many videos going around of teacher's ignoring Marinette asking for help. They were telling her to be the bigger person. They were telling her to open her heart and be more forgiving. They told her how it was better to ignore the hurtful words the others were saying about her. There were also videos of Lila walking down the stairs and claiming Marinette pushed her. There was her framing Marinette for stealing test answers and placing them in her backpack. There was evidence of her buying the Gabriel necklace and putting it in Marinette's locker, crying how she stole her family heirloom. Almost every lie she had ever told was being exposed by the news station: traveling out of Paris, her connections with celebrities, and her disabilities. The celebrities themselves were callign the news station and outraged how they didn't know such a horrible girl. Jagged Stone, himself, claimed how Marinette Dupain-Cheng was his personal designer.
"Marinette is one of the sweetest people I know." Jagged Stone declared, "She has always been ready to help me. Whether it's for a CD cover or a rockin' outfit for my shows! Hey, whoever sent this out. Reach out to me so I can talk to my designer and hire her again."
The news caster then informed Jagged Stone and Paris that Marinette Dupain-Cheng was sent to a reformitory out of Europe. As we saw, many people took to bullying her and those bullies turned her own parents against her. They thought they were doing the right thing. Why you ask? We might remember her better as the girl who beat up Gabriel Agreste's muse. They brought up their past headlines of Lila Rossi with a broken nose and being taken into an ambulance. His so-called muse told reporters that she feared for her life, in that moment. The model declared how she was only protecting her classmate and co-worker, Adrien Agreste, from a stalker. Many people agreed with her statement, but we can now see those people were assisting her in bullying this young girl. They lied to hide the fact on who was the true victim.
Her social media was flooded with comments:
"What a fake story."
"I wonder how popular she got from playing the victim."
"I hope she enjoys her new fame."
"LOL"
"Liar"
"Bully"
"Faker"
The news caster smiled, "The only thing the anonymous tipster stated was that they were doing this for Marinette Dupain-Cheng. They learned about everything and it wasn't hard to find. Marinette had a whole book full of detailed notes, every time she got bullied and by whom. They claimed it wasn't hard to find the evidence, only that no one ever looked. People are dumb. No one looked up the obvious lies and the pricipal obviously lined his pockets with richer families in mind. Also, Happy belated birthday, Marinette!"
The backlash from the reveal was gigantic. The school board was pissed about what had happened under supervision and had been brushed off. The principals and teachers were terminated immediately. Their licenses were suspended indefinitely; they would never work with children again.
Layla Rossi was quickly fired from Gabriel. All of her social medias were blocked and so was her phone number. Her mother had been completely blindsided by the news. She had stomped into her room and taken away her phone, until the truth was revealed. It was decided by the school board to expell Lila two months before graduation. When the verdict was given to her mother, she decided it was best to also take her to a reformitory until her daughter turned eighteen, the following year.
Everyone that had initially been apart of Bustier's class was crying. They had been shocked and horrified to learn they had chosen the wrong side. Marinette had told them Lila was lying to them; she had only tried to get them to see the truth. Adrien was hugging a pillow as he watched the news from his couch. He watched over and over as Mari was bullied by their friends and Lila. She was pushed and kicked while she was down. She sat there and did nothing, just like he told her to.
'She never told me this was going on!'
'Why would she ever come to you? This is all your fault! You helped turn everyone against her.'
Adrien broke and sobbed into the pillow.
The big question on everyone's mind was : Where is Marinette now? Her parents had reached out to the reformitory, to get her back, but she was no longer there. Once she was eighteen, she was gone.
It was years until people in Paris learned what happened to Marinette. Her name was trending again, everywhere. Marinette Dupain-Cheng had married Damian Wayne. They could all see she was happy. Several people had reached out to talk with her, but they all failed. No one knew how to contact her other than to call Wayne Enterprise. When they reached the receptionist, they always asked who was calling. . When they gave their own name, they were told their name had been blacklisted by the family and not to pass the call to Marinette. They tried using fake names after some time, but Marinette didn't know who they were so their calls were rejected.
"We know her!" they complained.
"And if she cared, she would call you!" the receptionist retorted and hung up.

Daminette December 2022: 29-Shimmer
Damian sighed as he looked out onto the Seine. He never wanted to come to Paris. His father and Drake had forced him on a plane to work on some counter-productive scheme at a Wayne Enterprise site in France.
Damian tensed up when he noticed a girl next to him on the bridge.
'When did she get here? I never heard her, let alone sensed her presence. I was trained to noticed the subtlest of movements. How did she get past me?'
Damian looked over the girl. She was wearing bright colors, something he should have noticed right away. Her hair was tied back, making her face visible. It was her eyes that got his attention. They were a dull blue, but that wasn't the biggest thing he noticed. He recognized those eyes. They were emotionless. He had grown up surrounded by those eyes in the League. Damian had also seen those eyes on the streets of Gotham.
He slowly reached out and touched her shoulder. Instantly, tears were brought to her eyes.
"I'm not going to hurt you." he spoke, softly.
The girl turned and he noticed bruising on her cheekbone and the makings of a black eye. She looked liked an angel.
"Are you okay?" Damian asked.
The girl shook her head. He slowly moved his hand from her shoulder to hers Damian pried her hands from the bridge rail and guided her to the nearest bench.
"What is going on?" he questioned, ready to call the authorities at a moments notice, "A fresh perspective can help."
"I being bullied by just about eveyone in my class. All of my friends believe this liar that joined a couple months ago." She began, "The one person who knows she's lying, lets bully me because 'No one is getting hurt'."
'The bruising on her suggests otherwise.'
He could see the heaviness in her eyes. The bullying was taking it's toll on her. If her grip was anything to go by, it was close to the breaking point.
"How long has this been going on?" he questioned.
"Since last year." she whispered.
Damian couldn't believe it had been that long with no intervention, "What about the staff?"
She shook her head, "My teacher expects me to an example to the class. The principal isn't any better. He believes anyone with more money."
Damian growled, "What school?"
"Francois Dupont College." she answered.
"It will get better; I promise you, Angel." he stated.
Marinette just looked away.
'She's likely heard those words before.'
"Let me walk you home." Damian suggested.
Tom and Sabine were shocked to see Marinette in tears, with a stranger leading her through the door. The purple on her cheek and eye stood out against her pale skin.
"Marinette!" Sabine shouted, "Is everything okay?"
Marinette just walked passed her parents and through the door leading upstairs. Concerned, they turned to the boy who had brought her home.
"Please, keep a heavy watch on her." he insisted, "I fear had I not been there, she would have jumped into the Seine."
"Why?" Tom questioned.
"When was the last time you her friends were over?" Damian asked.
"We saw them just the other day." Sabine frowned.
"Not in the store." Damian pressed, "In your own home. When was the last time you saw them with your daughter? When was the last time she told you she was going out with her friends with a smile on her face?"
Her parents looked confused.
He sighed, "She is being bullied and I want to help."
"She would have told us." Sabine insisted.
"It's very likely she did, but you brushed it off as a small argument or normal behavior for our age." he explained, "Who is her teacher?"
"Caline Buster." her father answered,.
Damian bowed and left the bakery without another word. Tom and Sabine looked at each other confused, but quickly shut down the bakery for the rest of the day. A stranger had thought their daughter would harm herself and the bruising on her face told them something wasn't right. They rushed upstairs to see Marinette laying motionless in bed. Maybe that stranger had a right to worry.
Marinette sat in the back of the classroom with a hoodie covering her head. Makeup hadn't really covered the purple on her face and she didn't want to be called out for wanting attention on herself, again. Damian strutted into class and rapidly spotted his angel. Everyone looked at the mysterious stranger in the class.
"Um, excuse me." Caline smiled, "How can I help you?"
Damian glared at her and walked up to Marinette. He placed his hand over hers and pulled her to her feet.
"Come along, Angel." Damian spoke, "We have things to do today."
Marinette looked at the stranger from the other day, stunned.
'Why is he here? What does he mean that we have things to do?'
"School?" she questioned, not really knowing what else to say.
"Not today." He answered, "Your parents granted me permission to rescue you."
Marinette gathered her things and followed him without a second thought.
"Her parents will be reaching out, shortly." Damian explained and puleld Mari out of the room.
Marinette couldn't believe the day she was having. Her parents had called her and told her that they wanted her to enjoy herself today. They didn't give an explanation on why she was allowed to miss school or why they trust the guy she had only met the other day. She couldn't complain, though. Damian had introduced himself and taken her out for ice cream cones. As they ate, he explained that the next thing they were doing was going to an art supply store he found the other day.
She had gathered a couple sketchbooks and colored pencils that she needed for her next project. Damian had paid for her purchase which she had refused. He got her hand and led her to the next spot. Marinette looked at the high end fabric store.
"I think we're at the wrong store." Marinette spoke.
"We're not." he smirked, "Your parents stated this was a place you have been wanting to visit."
"Ye-Yes, but it's not within my budget." she stated.
"That's why I'm paying." Damian announced.
Marinette turned to him in shock.
"I expect you to choose at least five different fabrics. Take as long as you need. Use your new sketchbooks and pencils if you have too." He explained, "If you don't walk out with five rolls, I will be buying you the entire store. In case your wondering, I do have that kind of money."
Marinette gulped and walked into the store. At that moment she recalled one of her favorite Disney movies: Beauty and the Beast.
'This must be how Belle felt when the Beast showed her library and told her she could read anything.'
Marinette looked around the bolts of fabric and pulled out a sketchbook. She sat on the floor in front of a wine fabric. Damian watched as she focused on the fabric and let her hand fly on the pages. Suddenly, he realized she was smiling. It shone so bright.
'How much damage was done to you to make you think the world was a better place without it?'
Damian and Marinette entered the bakery with seven bolts of fabric. He unloaded them from his car and happily carried them up to her room.
"Marinette, we have some news for you." Tom began.
Sabine smiled, "We have taken you out of school, permanently. We wanted to know if you would prefer to be homeschooled, instead?"
Marinette quickly hugged her parents. They could all tell she was happy with the news.
Damian smiled at the family infront of him. Unbeknownst to them, he had done background checks into the principal, her teacher, and unearthed the liar known as Lila Rossi. He had sent everything to the school board. They had informed him that the two staff member were terminated during school hours and wouldn't be allowed back on campus. They would also be writing a lengthy detailed report so they were not rehired. As for Lila Rossi, she had been suspended for a week and given detention for the rest of the year.
The next day, he heard from Tom and Sabine that the class tried to talk to Marinette. They had refused to let them even see her. They complained that the Italian exchange student had been berated in front of the class by her own mother. She had filled in the substitute teacher about her daughter's wrongdoings and left her personal number with her.
"Marinette wants nothing to do with you." Sabine chastised them.
"But-" Adrien tried to explain.
"You're lucky we don't know who beat her until she had a black eye or we would be going to your homes and filling your parents in on your own behavior." Tom declared.
"You may enter the bakery and purchase something" Sabine stated, "but, you are no longer welcomed into our home. You hurt our daughter and you were bad friends. It's no wonder she chose to be homeschooled than return to school with you."
The class flinched and dragged themselves out of the bakery.
Marinette jumped up when she saw Damian enter the living room. She rushed over and kissed his cheek.
"Hello, Angel." Damian spoke, kissing her cheek in return.
"You may call me an angel, but you're mine." Marinette smiled.
"I have been told I am a demon." he stated.
"Then, I'll gladly make a deal with you." Mari replied.
Damian smiled.
'Perhaps, Paris isn't so bad after all.'

Daminette December 2022: 27-Dress
Damian looked down at the paper in his hands and back up at the sign. This was BridalBug, exactly where Kori had sent him. Damian opened the door but he found no one was at the counter.
'Are the helping other customers?'
He looked around the shop and saw a girl with black-blue hair in a white dress. She wore a smile and twirling, as she looked at herself in the mirror.
"Angel." Damian spoke.
The girl halted and turned to look at him, startled.
"My apologies." he quickly stated, "I didn't intend to speak that way about another person's fiancé."
She giggled at his response.
"Um, no." she blushed, "Sorry, um, I-I'm not getting married. My friend is. She's running a bit late so she asked me to try some on for her. We're roughly the same size."
"Don't women usually have different tastes?" Damian asked.
"Yes, that is why I showed her some dresses and had her pick some. This was suppose to be her potentially choosing her dress and a fitting" she answered.
"Why would she ask you?" he questioned.
Marinette smiled, "This is my store; I'm the owner and designer behind BridalBug. I designed them all. I studied fashion design and somewhere in the middle of it all, I tuned to wedding dresses and tuxedos. I even do custom work. Oh, sorry. I'm rambling. Did you need help with something?"
"Yes." Damian replied, "I'm here to pick up a wedding dress for my sister-in-law."
"Oh! Um." Mari replied, looking down and then back up, "Let me change and I'll be right there!" rushing back to the changing room.
Damian Wayne picked up one of the catalogs on the counter with the store's name on it and thumbed through it. The dresses looked beautiful. She made the smart decision of charging extra for adding color or altering the design. If these were anything to go by, he'd bet that Grayson would faint at the alter at the sight of Kori. The suit didn't look boring either. There were even a couple that he would prefer to see in his wardrobe.
"Sorry for the wait!" she cried out, "Um, I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng. Name?"
'How is she just as radiant out of the dress?'
"Kori Anders." Damian answered.
"Oh!" she smiled, "I love her dress! I won't say anything. I don't want to spoil the surprise."
Marinette handed over the dress bag, "My card is also in the bag. Have her try it on again, just to make sure everything fits. If she needs me there, that day to help her with it, she is welcome to call me."
"I don't know about her, but I know I will be back for a suit, Angel." Damian replied.
Marinette blushed as the gentleman walked out. Mari covered her face and looked down in embarrassment. She took notice of a card on her counter. It read: Damian Wayne with a set of number. It was also signed, 'Call Me Soon.'
'How did I get that guy to give me his number?'
The door slammed open, startling Marinette. She almost dropped the card.
"I was able to get free from practice!" Kagami shouted, "Let's try on the dresses, Hime-Sama!"
"Co-Coming, Kagami!" Marinette shouted back.
"What is with the red face?" she teased, "Daydreaming?"
"No-well, maybe before." Mari answered, biting her lip.
Kagami smirked, "What happened?"
"A new customer." the designer replied.
"Oh. Was he hot?" the fencer questioned.
Marinette nodded, earning a smile from her best friend.
"I was so embarrassing, though." Marinette whined, "I was wearing one of the dresses."
"He saw you in a wedding dress and asked you out?" Kagami frowned.
Marinette waved her hands in front of her rapidly, "I said it was for you."
"So, he found out you were single and then asked you out?" the bride-to-be questioned.
Marinette nodded, "He also called me Angel."
"Date him!" Kagami exclaimed, "If you don't, I'm cancelling the wedding to set you up on a date."
"No!" Marinette shrieked, "You can't do that to Adrien!"
"I'll call him right now." the fencer threaten, "He'd laugh and help me plan."
Marinette crossed her arms and pouted as Kagami analyzed one of her dresses in the mirror.
'Damn. Adrien would help her.'
"So?" Kagami prodded.
"I'll call him when we're done picking your dress." Mari answered, "Besides, he said he might be back."
Kagami smiled, "A man who doesn't hesitate. A worthy choice."
Marinette giggled as Kagami smiled in the mirror.
'Maybe.'
