VENOM POLY SHIP POLL RESULTS

After a long two weeks, the poll has finally come to an end. And the final results are in.

In first place….

DAVE (Dan/Anne/Eddie/Venom)!!! They crushed the poll with 28% of the vote, double what the second place ships got. The obvious choice for a winner in this beautiful poll.

Now here’s where it gets interesting. As I said here, the first poll actually DID have a clear second place, which did not line up with what the results were from the second place rematch poll.

So according to the second place rematch poll the second place ship is…

Spideyvenompool (Peter/Eddie/Venom/Wade)!! They swept the second place rematch poll, with 64% percent of the vote. Honestly I’m surprised they beat spideyvenom on its own in the first poll, but I guess that’s just Deadpool’s power. Good for him.

And the third place ship according to the rematch poll is….

Symbiot3 (Eddie/Venom/Flash)!! They’re my personal favourite out of all of these options, and with them being a decently rare pair I’m really happy they placed!

If you want to go based off of the original poll alone, Symbiot3 came in second with 14% of the vote and Spideyvenompool came in third with 13.6%!

And the runner up is…

Spideyvenom! The good old-fashioned enemies to lovers and the epitome of rivalries being gay.

I know a lot of people hate the Venom movies. I know that.

I don't tho.

I love them.

I love them so much.

They're silly, they're goofy and they're fun.

I especially felt this during the second movie, that one was made for the FANS.

No critic can take them seriously.

When you expected gruesome violence, you're wrong.

When you expected deep, emotional life lessons, you're wrong.

Heck, even if you expected a good written antihero, you were wrong.

Instead, you get two guys who can't stand each other but can't live without each other (and also, love each other).

The guy who doesn't get back with his ex. Whose ex gets married to another guy. To a genuinely nice guy.

Talks about ostracization.

I love them.

They're not my guilty pleasure because I don't feel guilty for liking them.

(Guardian or a protector it's right in the name.)

Brock -- (old English, Celtic) "badger"

(Also possibly a complete coincidence but nevertheless amusing, Eddie Brock kinda sounds like Edderkopp, the Norwegian word for "spider.")

Cletus-- (Latin, from Greek) "famous, renowned" (he sure is, lol)

Kasady, from Cassidy -- (Irish) "curly-haired,

Descendent of Caiside"

(According to Wikipedia Caiside a family from the Ulster region of poets, churchmen, scholars and hereditary physicians to the Maguire Kings of Ireland.)

as weird as it is to say, after looking at the stuff about Spiderverse 2 possibly having the love triangle bullshit, I feel like the Venom movies actually did the whole 'love triangle' pretty well by making Dan into a genuinely nice person. Even if they did it accidentally, lmao.

It wasn't a bullshit dick measuring contest between two guys fighting to "win" the pretty girl. You felt bad for Eddie, of course, but they made it very clear it was his fucking fault things fell apart. So you have LESS sympathy for him going into it than normal romance plots where the "good guy" didnt do anything wrong. And then they introduced Dan and he was polite, he was nice, and he went out of his way to help Eddie. His girlfriend's ex. Instead of the new love being boring or a huge piece of shot like other movies do with the new boyfriend. It was only ever a triangle in the loosest sense, because after a little while you're noticing that there is no fighting or arguing going on and Anne isn't being treated like some trophy that either of them need to win. The second movie has some fights between the guys, but most of that is the growing pains between Eddie and the Venom symbiote manifesting. Eddie and Venom lash out because they want things to be good for THEM and they're still figuring out what that means.

Its weird for me to say it. But Spiderverse could take notes from the Venom series.
