Flash Headcanons that are semi-canon: -Iris is autistic and low-empathy and her hyperfixations are crime and horror. -The revenue from the Flash museum and associated tourism and merchandising goes directly to improving Central City and Keystone. -Barry freaking hates cars and driving and that may have been one of his driving reasons for helping to push high speed rail in and out of Central City. Give him a train any day of the week. -To be fully connected to the Speed Force, your human body has to be destroyed. If you do not have a full connection to the Speed Force then you're subject to rapid aging and other issues. Being born a speedster means you are born with a partial connection but something is going to have to solidify it for you. -The warping effects of the Negative Speed Force are a product of self-image. The NSF asks "What does a monster look like?" and then holds up a mirror. Eobard Thawne shows minimal warping because he already views himself as a monster. -The Speed Force can also warp a conduit's physical body if their self-image becomes damaged, because a (fully connected) conduit is not really a human being, they're a collection of energy arranged to look like a human being. -The Speed Force's bonds are emotional and non-linear, meaning if you will be attached to someone one day, you are and have always been tied to them and will always be. To be loved by a speedster is to have always been loved and always be loved. -Iris and Linda sometimes proof-read each other's work but have sworn off making suggestions--they have very different creative visions, so they stick to writing mechanics.

Hi! I’m just curious what the numbers on Eobard’ chest are, and why he has sharp teeth? Art is beautiful.

So the numbers on Eobard’s chest are from one of his first Silver Age appearances, when he’s in Future Prison and they’re trying to see if they’ve succeeded in brainwashing him into a better person. (Spoilers…they hadn’t)

He’s shown shirtless, with a number across his chest that’s later shown across the back of his prison uniform. So we can infer that this number is his prison number, and it’s been either branded or tattooed onto him. It’s not a colorist’s mistake either, you can clearly see a lack of collar or seams. Eobard is definitely shirtless. The future is bright, kids, so very bright.

As for why my version of the design sometimes has sharp teeth, that’s because excessive use of the Speed Forces, especially the Negative Speed Force, can warp the user’s physical body and make them more monstrous. Red eyes are a low level example of this, black sclera are another, Eobard’s hair sometimes goes stark white and all of the Reverse Flashes have been shown with claws at times. Daniel West, who arguably had the least control over his powers out of all the Reverse Flashes, ended up the most warped by the Negative Speed Force and at times displayed fangs as a characteristic of his monstrous nature. I like pushing the idea that Eobard’s outward appearance reflects his lack of humanity.

Thinking about how funny it is for Daniel and Rudy West to both be so determined to have their kid be named Wallace. I imagine Rudy named Wally Wallace very cheekily and Daniel was pissed. Then when he had Ace, Daniel really said "fuck it" and named him Wallace and the whole fam was just like??? Also their poor wives. Both were probably like "That's a terrible name, wtf?"

Synopsis

In Central City, Wally West works as an engineer working for S.T.A.R. Labs and he lives with his father Daniel. One night, a figure strikes him with red lightning and he finds out that it has given him superspeed like his hero, The Flash. Now the figure is targeting the Flash and Wally is the only one who can stop him.

Characters

Wallace "Wally" West - A bright young man living with his father in Central City who has recently started a job as an engineer at S.T.A.R. Labs. He was given his powers by the Reverse-Flash of an alternate timeline. He uses these powers for good and to stop the Reverse-Flash.

Daniel West - A S.T.A.R. Labs scientist who studies the Speed Force. He has been the single-parent of Wally West since his wife left when Wally was very young. There is nothing he would not do for his son.

Daniel West/Reverse-Flash - Wally's father from an alternate timeline. Where he came from, he got his Speed Force powers from a lab explosion that bonded him to shrapnel, allowing him to create armor out of the metal scraps. His son, Wally, was killed during a fight between the Flash and his enemies. Vowing vengeance, he went back and time and stopped the accident that originally gave him his powers and gave them to Wally instead. Now a remnant of an erased timeline, he plans to kill the Flash and all of those responsible for his son's death so that he is always safe.

Barry Allen, The Flash, is the Fastest Man Alive...isn’t he?

Son of convicted killer Henry Jay Allen and his wife, Nora Thompson, Barry and his twin brother, Malcolm, grew up in the Keystone-Central Metro Area. Barry went to live with family friend Joe West and his partner Ira while Malcolm was adopted by their mother’s cousin, Charlene and her husband Hugo Thawne, going so far as to change his last name to Thawne as well. Despite being separated at home, the two continued attending school together, often with Joe’s biological son Daniel tagging along with the older boys (Joe and Ira’s other adopted child, Iris, never wanted to admit she had a crush on a boy she lived with).

Barry, Mal, and Danny would often spend their time together goofing and trading the same few old issues of All-Flash between the three of them. Barry always thought Jay Garrick looked like their dad, but Mal and Danny always thought that was just Barry projecting his own need for Henry to be innocent onto a fictional character.

As adults, they all drifted apart. Barry left for school, coming back to Keystone-Central to work as a CSI; Mal got a job as a janitor while trying to get his “Cobalt Blue” fantasy series off the ground; and Danny struggled with addiction issues and trouble with the law, driving a wedge between him and his father. On a rare night when all three were free, the brother met for drinks and celebrated Nora’s birthday.

Then, a bolt of lightning--seemingly the result of a test at the new STAR facility downtown--destroyed a window and struck the three of them.Variously blessed or cursed with superhuman speed via a semi-mystical “Speed Force” that would come to transform all of Keystone-Central into a hotbed of metahuman activity, Barry stole the name of his favorite fictional speedster and his brothers agreed. Thus...the Flash was born. All three of them: Red, Blue, and Gold.

Things were good for a time. They got their own museum. Iris moved back home and she and Barry got together. They started taking care of Daniel’s kid, Wally, as Daniel started taking steps to get clean. Malcolm finally felt able to tackle everything he didn’t feel like he had time for.

But nothing lasts forever, especially at the speed of light. Years after the fact, Wally would remember his dad and his uncles as the greatest heroes he ever knew. He tried not to think about what happened after. What Mal did...what his father did...how they lost Barry.

Even when the world was ending, seeing his Uncle Barry again was the hardest part...knowing the Flash was never going home...
