Dick was a normal name in the 1950’s, but it’s 2022 now, so here’s how I immagine all of the batkids (+ some extras) reacting to Dick introducing himself.

BABS (10 years old)

Dick: My name’s dick

Babs: That’s a bad word.

Dick: No? It’s my name?

Babs: Daddy says it’s naughty to say bad words.

Dick: But it’s my name?

Babs: I’m gonna go ask daddy *runs up to commissioner Gordon* daddy, that kid says his name is Dick, can I say it when I’m talking about him?

Dick: *the son of immigrant parents, grown up speaking an amalgamation of Easter European dialects and was names after Dick Tracy still confused as to why his name is a bad word*

Dick: Hey buddy, I know this is all very new but my name is Dick and I—

Jason: hold up, hold up. Dick?

Dick: yeah, I know, I know but —

Jason: Damn and I thought my parents were assholes.

This little stalker already knew Dick’s entire biography, so there wasn’t a reaction, bless him.

Dick: yeah but we ain’t gonna use it, kiddo.

Dick: it’s so cool to meet other sidekicks! I’m Dick.

Wally: as in your name is Dick?

Dick: Yes *blushing because now he knows why everyone is reacting like it’s strange*

Wally: Ok from now on I’m gonna be the one to introduce you to anyone we meet, deal? Oh you’ll see man it’ll be so much fun *proceeds to list out all of the ways they could sneak dick jokes into conversations*

Wally: Roy, I have the pressure to introduce you to my Dick.

Roy: what the fuck do you mean now!?

Dick: *quadruple flips over Wally and lands in between them* ta-da!!!

Roy: who’s the kid?

Wally *placing an hand on Dick’s shoulder*: this, is my Dick

Roy: that’s your actual name?

Dick: it is.

Roy *looking between the other two*: ok I want in on your plans to introduce him to the others

I am thinking of writing a fanfiction with Dick Grayson who was a Talon (kidnapped after the death of his parents) and several years later he is rescued by Batman and Tim Drake (Robin) Tim is sixteen in this story and Dick owes him everything: he will find comfort in discovering that he can actually feel brotherly affection and protection

Part 2 is here! Originally, I was going to post three for week, but I decided to post more to keep you guys entertained.

I am not exactly sure if I have some funfacts to say about this part. One interesting thing, though, is that Harry created the elemental whip specifically in case that he had to face his family.

The Batfam is known for using smoke bombs, that's why he created the Wind Mode.

Also, here is Harry's character sheet.

By the way, in the next pages, we are going to see a lot of Lab scientists... and sadly I don't have designs for the majority. I might make a competition or something of sorts, and you guys could submit your own scientists... but, I dunno.

Anyway, I am really glad how this part turned out.

New Gods November 2023 - Week 4, Day 4: Alternate Realities!

once upon a time it was said that only one version of the New Gods exist across all Earths, but its rarely reflected after that. Most of these AUs are canon, some after 1/2 canon (featuring only one of the duo), and some are my own ideas :D This december is going on three years since I got into New Gods!

Lightray is reaching over to Orion’s thigh and they are watching a sunset together.

Box six: Hunter and Neon Black, two men closely resembling Orion and Lightray, but with thicker armour and darker clothes. Hunter is turned away but looking over his shoulder, while Neon Black is pressed into his chest and smiling.

Box seven: Orion and Lightray based on the style of Mike Mignola, Lightray is thin and wearing a white top with a gold V mark, and long gold gloves that reach up his arms. Orion has a low cut red shirt and blue shoulderpads. He and Lightray are smiling at eachother.

Box eight: Future State Orion with a matching Lightray, their heads are pressed together and they're holding eachother's faces and smiling. Orion has pink skin and flaming hair, Lightray is similar, both have gold headpieces resembling their usual counterparts.

Box nine: The top of two mock-Simpsons style figures, one with a red/black bowlcut and one with orange hair and a silver headpiece with a "v" on it, meant to be Obrian and Flightrisk from Radioactive Man.

Box ten: Lightray faced away from the viewer, glaring at Orion, who is lacking a helmet and has long, wild hair. Orion has a darker outfit based on his Gods and Monsters uniform, with a silver harness. Barda is next to him in an outfit similar to her regular one, she looks concerned and is reaching to pull Orion back. Behind them are buildings from New Genesis.

Box eleven: Orion's death scene from Gods and Monsters, Lightray is holding Orion back while Highfather's staff kills him.

1: Orihound and Lightstray from the New Dogs (Earth C-Minus). Inspired by the art in their first/only appearance Captain Carrot and the Final Ark #3, by Scott Shaw, Scott Koblish, Tom Luth, and Drew Moore.

2: Thorion and Bald’r the Lightbringer of the New Asgods (Amalgam Earth). Inspired by the art . 

3: Lightray and Orion as members of the Lantern corps, designed by me. In this universe, an Apokolips-raised Orion loses all sense of control when given the red ring and decimates the population of Apokolips, then turns on Atrocitus for manipulating his mind. Seeing a threat to all Lantern Corps, Lightray of New Genesis volunteers to defeat Orion and retrieve his ring. Lightray’s design is based on his formal wear from volume 3, Orion’s is based on his rebirth uniform. OK i dont know if they can work out in this one honestly i just thought it’d be cool, theoretically 

4. Lightraydactyl and Orionodon, designed by me. The JL fighting Darkseid instead of Orion is a pet peeve of mine, but Jurassic League didnt even leave room for the New Gods to exist. i love the dinosaurs comic though Lightray was pretty straightforward, Orion’s design took inspiration from Darklyoseid’s canon design by Juan Gedeon, a sabertooth tiger (for Tigra), and Orion’s main universe costume for the colours.

5. Orion and Lightray Mechs. DC Mech killed Orion off in issue one boooooo! but it did mean i didnt have to design my own for his (Lightray's is mine though). This was inspired by one of the covers for Pacific Rim, because I will be thinking about a pacrim AU for them forever now.

6. Hunter and Neon Black. These guys aren’t actually LR and Orion, just two random inmates disguised as evil versions of them iirc, but I liked Neon Black’s design.

7. Orion and Lightray, Mike Mignola’s scrapped 1990′s New Gods animated film designs.

Batman Arcane AU ⌛ 💣

okay i cleaned them up & finished them sooo here are dick’s and tim’s wings (& ref photos) in my batfam wings au

+ basic info abt my batfam wings au

- this is an au where everyone has wings, so they’re not really used to specifically identify people

- most wing patterns are pretty similar and relatively common (they’re a sort of identifying feature like skin tone, hair and eye color pretty much)

- wing span & size is proportional to one’s height, weight, and body mass

- no talons or other birdlike features, just the wings and certain behaviors (whistling, preening feathers, specific food cravings/diet restrictions, etc.)

- clothes are adjusted to accommodate wings

- wings are used to express emotions but mostly basic stuff like fear, anger, happiness, sadness, etc. through behavior (twitching, flaring, puffing up, ruffling, etc.)

+ batfam specific info

- they are all birds of prey (otherwise most of them would be different birds)

- they use their wings to fight. it’s cool as hell and super intimidating

- bruce has the biggest wings of the batfam ofc

- bruce has trained his wings the same way he trained his face and body to present a mask to the world of dumb playboy brucie wayne

- dick and his parents were still in the circus as acrobats, but they incorporated their wings so it was a bit different. anyway what happens is instead of the equipment breaking, dick's parents are shot in midair during a performance. their wings are damaged and they still basically fall to their deaths in front of dick

- dick refused to fly for a while after his parents died, he only started to fly again when he became robin

- jason's wings are damaged after he is killed by the joker, and they aren't fully healed by the pit so he can’t fly very well after it

p.s. part of the reason i chose a golden eagle for dick is because i’ve been reading fics lately where jason calls dick the Golden Child or “Goldie” lol

DC Dimensions project plan: Batman (Vol. 1)

This series is not an assured project. It is a concept that can still be changed or scrapped.

Synopsis

For years, Batman has been the protector of Gotham City and has trained Robins and Batgirls. Now he has discovered that he has a son born to his old lover and enemy Talia al Ghul. An assassin is after the boy and will do anything to get him.

Characters

Bruce Wayne/Batman - Gotham City's vigilante for the past fifteen years. He is drawn into the war between Ra's al Ghul and Brutale to save his son Damian.

Damian Wayne - The illegitimate son of Bruce Wayne and Talia al Ghul. He was sent to Gotham City to protect him from Brutale. He is well trained in martial arts.

Tim Drake/Red Robin - The third Robin of the Bat family, preceded by Dick Grayson and Jason Todd. He is a genius designing gadgets.

Alfred Pennyworth - Butler of the Wayne family and father figure to Bruce Wayne.

Barbara Gordon/Oracle - A former Batgirl who was paralyzed from the waist down after being shot by The Joker.

James "Jim Gordon, Sr. - Commissioner of the Gotham City Police Department. He is the father of Barbara Gordon and a close ally of Batman.

Harvey Bullock - A captain of the Gotham City Police Department who is not afraid to bend the rules a bit. He is a long time friend of Commissioner Gordon and ally of Batman.

Guillermo Barrera/Brutale - The descendant of a long line of assassins that have been slaying the bloodline of Ra's al Ghul. He has been hunting Damian Wayne and his mother for years, besting any guard that gets in his way. He has been trained to power through any pain and has survived multiple gunshot wounds.

Jervis Tetch/Mad Hatter - A villain of a small stature and a love of "Alice in Wonderland." He is a long time enemy of Batman. When Brutale found out Damian was being sent to Gotham City, he paid Jervis to leave the dark knight a message.

Other Information

Brutale was picked as the villain because I figured that if Batman had to face a foe that was a mystery to him then it would have to be outside his rogues gallery. Bruce has been Batman for nearly twenty years, so I believe he has faced all the normal villains we are all familiar with.

Brutale's extreme durability was inspired by the film "V for Vendetta." There was a scene where V was riddled with bullets but then killed everyone in the room.

Probably Trashy Fic Idea

So, fic idea

Instead of dying Grant Wilson is thrown in the lazarus pit, he meets Jason and the two bond during their time with the league of assassins, likely over their daddy issues, Jason asks for grants help getting revenge on Batman, and Grant agrees becoming Jason’s enforcer, the admittedly ambitious end result of this fic is Grant being dragged into the Batfamily after Jason rejoins it

We’re assuming that Deathstroke doesn’t know Grant is alive for the whole leave of assassins arc, also I’d like to propose that Grants near death experience caused a shift in personality, making him more stoic and cautious rather than his original hotheaded self. This is because I think having 2 aggressive hotheads would be boring, and having a more cautious Grant there could balance Jason out,

Nightingale's colors actually use some blue and orange, rather than purple, but Lan's fave color is still purple.

au where Kon and Tim secretly date one another because "you can't date a super", "you can't date a Wayne," and, "you can't date a bat". Bruce, Lex, and Clark get super close to figuring it out but someone is always there to make sure they don't.

Examples:

Dick diverting Bruce with information on a recently broken out Gotham villian.

Mercy (yes she knows. you can't hide anything from her. it's her job to know.) brings Lexcorp event planning and decoration conformation form to Lex.

Jon telling Clark he has something to show him, then does the most childish thing imaginable.
