Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight

Is it awful of me to say that I genuinely like this Dark Magician Girl Timaeus fusion more than either of the Dark Magician ones? Because I really, really do. Like, they gave her a whole ass sword and armor (that is questionable, admittedly) modeled after her normal outfit. The way they transformed her iconic hat into a knight's helmet is so fucking cool honestly. And of course, let's not forget how cool Timaeus looks here as well. Sure, he's much less of a focal point than Dark Magician Girl is, but once you notice that glare he's giving the camera, you just can't forget it. Definitely the best Timaeus has looked across all his cards; the texture work used to imply the presence of scales across his body alone is amazing. The light reflections off Dark Magician Girl's sword and helmet are wonderful as well. It looks like the air itself is being sliced up.

Rating: 10/10, If you're going to say she must be having an awful time riding this dragon, I already know and I don't want to think about it

Funny little thought/headcanon I had while looking at Yugioh card archetypes, specifically the various ones that have spun off of Yugi’s iconic monsters, ie; Dark Magician, Gaia the Fierce Knight, Buster Blader, etc.

In terms of in-universe card-lore, I feel like many of Yugi’s monsters read like this oldschool fantasy adventurer party who banded together to go on a series of epic quests together.

You’ve got Dark Magician, the wise and powerful wizard who brings the group together.

Gaia the Fierce Knight is a knight who joins the party, and later tames a powerful dragon to be his new steed in Curse of Dragon.

Kuriboh is a little fiendish spirit who is probably Dark Magician’s familiar and becomes the party’s mascot.

Summoned Skull is a powerful fiend whom the party forges an unlikely alliance with.

Buster Blader, an up and coming dragon-slayer who joins the party.

Dark Magician Girl, the Dark Magician’s young protégé.

Really, I think it’s easy to picture basically ALL of Yugi’s monsters as being part-or-full-time members or affiliated allies of this hypothetical band of adventurers: Mystical Elf could be an elven priestess who joins the party, Celtic Guardian could be Mystical Elf’s bodyguard, Feral Imp and Horn Imp are a pair of petty demons who get bound to the service of Dark Magician or Summoned Skull, Silver Fang is a wolf the party adopts, the list goes on.

And all the individual archetypes that have spun off of each of Yugi’s monsters represent each of these adventurers going their separate ways to have their own big solo quests and stories after the party disbanded (ie; when the DM anime ended).

Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl clearly continue to have their own long string of adventures.

Possibly with DMG eventually forming her own band of fellow magical girls.

Buster Blader became The Destruction Swordsman, adopted Buster Whelp and had… that whole adventure.

With Gaia, for a while I’ve had a theory/headcanon that the numerous ‘Gaia Knights’ aren’t actually all the same guy, but rather various members of an ORDER of Knights founded by the original Gaia. With each Gaia Knight representing either a rank, position or notable member of the order. With Gaia himself forming the order after leaving the party. He also apparently took Catapult Turtle with him.

Heck, Summoned Skull being retroactively classified as part of the Archfiend archetype could be read in-lore as Summoned Skull becoming an Archfiend after or even as a result of their time with the party.

Gazelle and Berfomet go off to form the Chimera series and also join the Phantom Beasts.

Celtic Guardian takes up a second sword and becomes Celtic Guard of Noble Arms.

The three Face-Card Knights (or the ‘Poker Knights’ as I prefer to call them) probably form their own order of knights with Joker’s Knight and Imperial Bower and eventually become the Arcana Joker trio (with Queen’s Knight/Arcana Triumph Joker clearly having inherited some power from Slifer/Osiris, given her effect).

And the list goes on.

Oh, and the Magical Citadel of Endymion probably factors in here somewhere, given the existence of the ‘Skilled Magician’ monsters. Not to mention Yugi’s use of Breaker the Magical Warrior.

And I dunno, I think it’s really fun to think of the ‘in-universe’ card lore in this way, as well as tie together all of Yugi’s monsters in a cool way. Heck you can reimagine much of Duelist Kingdom, Battle City and the other arcs of DM into more classical fantasy adventures.

Últimamente me estado aventando todo yugioh gx y hasta ahora me llamo más la atención que el original, lo cual llega a mi pregunta y sería que tipo de deck tendrían rwby?

Ruby es la más fácil teniendo en cuenta el deck de rose y su respectivo dragón así cómo probablemente red eyes dragón por el tema de los ojos o barrel dragon porque bueno ruby

Jaune creo que tendría un deck compuesto por guerreros legendarios como gilford y por caballeros como buster blader, en general una mezcla de los monstruos de yugi y joey

Weiss podría tener a un deck ice barri por el hecho de que desconozco otros deck de ice además probablemente tendría cobertura con el deck de Alexis de cyber girl

Winter me gustaría pensar que tendría el deck de mai de harpy y deck crystal beas junto a rainbow dragon por el tema de las minas de dusk

Lately I've been looking at everything yugioh gx and so far it caught my attention more than the original, which brings up my question and that would be what kind of deck would RWBY have? Ruby is the easiest considering Rose's deck and her respective dragon, as well as probably Red Eyes Dragon, because of the eyes, or Barrel Dragon because, well, Ruby. I think Jaune would have a deck made up of legendary warriors, like Gilford the Legend and knights like Buster Blader, in general a mix of Yugi and Joey monsters. Weiss could have an ice barrier deck because I don't know any other ice decks and she would probably have coverage with Alexis' deck from Cyber Girl. Winter I would like to think that she would have the harpy Mai deck and Crystal Beast deck along with Rainbow Dragon for the Dust Mines theme. Pyrrha, here it is also easy considering that there is an Amazon deck next to the magnet warriors since there are like 2 or 3 trios of those. Nora has a deck based on Valkyries that I don't remember who it belonged to, but it was an antagonist, I think, and with electricity coverage. Glynda would have a Dark Magician Girl type deck, in addition to the fact that they are some of the biggest waifus in their fandom's, I find it funny that the strict teacher has the enthusiastic apprentice as her flagship card. Ozpin... Ozpin is difficult. One of my topics would be the alchemy deck belonging to an antagonist who created new bodies as a type of immortality (yes, it happened), although there is also a Fairy Tale deck. I accept suggestions.

Hoof, I, uh... I gotta be honest, I'm not as big a fan of fan of Yu Gi Oh as I used to be. In fact, GX was kinda where I dropped off, and even then, the card game got way more complicated than I would have liked. But, I'll give this the ol' college try and see what ya got!

Looking at Ruby, I do like the theme of black monsters being her go-to since it's her aesthetic, though I can also see her using machine monsters since she's also a weapon-nut. Honestly, the most edgy you could take Ruby, I think with my limited knowledge, is Darkness Metal, the Dragon of Dark Steel.

For Jaune, I agree that his deck should include a lot of warrior monsters. Along with that, though, I also think his monsters should also come with spells that boost themselves, though Jaune won't really know what to do until the time hits just right. That said, I think the most fitting option for Jaune would be CXYZ Barian Hope, since it has 0/0 BUT the effect means that if you attach certain cards to it, it gains 1000 ATK for every card you attach, utilizing Jaune's reliance on his friends to become as strong as he can be.

Looking at Ice Barrier, I would say the aesthetic does fit with Weiss' early aesthetic as the "Ice Queen". I can see her pulling a win with her Leviathan, Wyvern of the Ice Barrier to unleash a devastating blow with the help of it's special effect in which you can add cards with Ice Barrier in their name to your hand and add their ATK to Leviathan, similar to Weiss' ability to summon defeated Grimm to her aid.

Mm... I don't know about that with Winter, since she left the Schnee Dust Company to forge her own path. However, I can also see her using the Crystal Beast deck at first because it was a gift from her father, who uses this very same deck. But a funny thought just came to me; what if Winter had a Penguin deck, which she uses with the most stoic expression possible, and somehow manages to beat everyone with this deck. I won't limit it to all penguins, but I do find it a hilarious idea that she adores the penguins above all other cards.

For Nora and Pyrrha, I'd like to combine them into having a sort of Yugi/Joey deck that blends well together, mostly so they can use magnet warriors AND fusion summon Imperion Magnum The Superconductive Battlebot, with Nora being gifted Valkyrion the Magnet Warrior by Pyrrha. And, yeah, throw some Magnet and Thunder Warrior monsters for them, too.

There's plenty of Dark Magician cards, Girl or otherwise, and I can definitely see Professor Goodwitch utilizing them and other spellcaster monsters with excruciating effect. She's not the deputy of Beacon Academy for no reason. Along with that, I can see her being especially strict on students who ogle her cards for too long, especially if they try to peek on her Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight.

Ozpin is kind of a tricky one, since he's the oldest character in the series, though I do like your Fairy Tale theme. If I might suggest, maybe he uses the Fairy Tail cards to start before shifting to more powerful cards like Vera the Vernusylph Goddess and similar fairy cards. As an added bonus, you could have Salem have Underworld Goddess of the Closed World and Hex Trude to also add Fairy Tale flavors to this.

If anybody else has any suggestions, feel free to add on to this!

The Day of Judgement: part 3

The wave of pain that accompanies the Seal's activation fades quickly, but the surge of power it brings does not. His skin seems alive with electricity as he drags himself back to his feet, staring down his opponent with a new, intense fire burning in his red violet eyes.

A smirk splits his face as he watches the crystal prison fall from around his Dragon Knight. But that expression quickly fades as the great dragon she rides disappears below her, leaving the Dark Magician Girl standing alone on the field. "What the hell--?!" the Other Yugi gasps in surprise.

Across the mesa, Raphael laughs.

"Didn't you know?" the Musketeer chides. "The Seal of Orichalcos and those Legendary Dragons are polar opposites. Light and dark, oil and water. They can't coexist. But don't you feel freer, Pharaoh?"

The Other Yugi's fierce eyes narrow.

"I can still play up to ten monsters now. You're going to regret giving me that card, Raphael," he growls, in a low, chilling voice that he hasn't used in so, so long. The same cold tone he spoke in before he found himself, when all he knew were Shadow Games.

He plays Hand Control, a card that allows him to bring back four monsters from his graveyard if he can just name a card in his opponent's hand. And of course he can-- he's the one who gave Raphael the Necromancy card he holds now.

This is it, the Other Yugi thinks, wild pride flashing in his eyes. He can win this. He can seal Raphael's soul instead. It'll be all over then, all of the plans of this so called Doma. He'll never have to use the Seal again, but he just has to win this first--

Their Duel resumes, and seems to do so in the Pharoah's favor. He attacks with Kuribabylon and Dark Magician. His second attack is negated, but he doesn't seem to waver. Though Raphael plays Swords of Revealing Light, Ither Yugi is undeterred. Using Catapult Turtle, he doesn't need to attack. He can sacrifice his other monsters to chip away at Raphael's lifepoints directly. One by one, turn after turn, his field is cleared. Monster after monster is hurtled at the enemy, bringing his lifepoints down to a measly 100.

But as his turn begins, Raphael laughs. The Other Yugi scowls.

"I told you that the Seal would reveal the truth," Raphael says. "So look at it! This is the truth of your soul, Nameless Pharaoh. Wicked, greedy, violent, and proud. You're trapped by your need to win, and your fear of losing."

"What did you say?" growls the Other Yugi. "From where I'm standing, you look like the one who's trapped, Raphael."

There's that annoying, condescending look of pity again.

"Look at your field, Pharaoh. Look at your precious monsters. Look at what you've done to your cute Kuribohs. To your Dark Magician Girl. Throwing their lives away for a reckless charge at victory?"

Suddenly, the Other Yugi's intense stare breaks. His stomach drops, and his chest burns.

This isn't right.

This isn't him.

"Your lust for power destroyed the one monster I truly feared. But you sealed your fate the second you chose the Seal over Timaeus."

The Other Yugi, the Nameless Pharaoh, tries to call out inside his heart. To reach the Partner he'd pushed away, to open the door he'd locked to shut him out. But he can't reach him. Can't hear Yugi's voice. Can't feel his love inside their heart.

Raphael draws, then plays two cards.

Lightning cracks overhead as his ace monster, Guardian Eatos, appears on the field, their massive, white wings outstretched. The Guardian raises a hand, and a spectacular Celestial Sword appears.

There's nothing that the Other Yugi can do but watch in horror as every monster he had so recklessly sent to his graveyard emerges now, pulled into that Sword, that glows and grows with every added beast.

"No... No..." the Pharaoh repeats, over and over, as he watches in dread. The Guardian's attack rises with each unfortunate soul it absorbs, until the monster that faces him now stands with 10,000 attack points.

"You did this. You used your monsters and threw them away with no regard."

"I didn't want this-""

"You rushed every turn of this Duel for the sake of what, your pride?""

"Don't LOOK at me like that!!!!"

But Raphael still holds that same look of pity as he stares down at the smaller man.

Then, he attacks.

And it's more than enough to destroy both Other Yugi's Kuribabylon, along with his lifepoints.

Somewhere deep, deep inside their soul, Yugi screams. The real Yugi, locked out of his own body by the Other Self he's trusted for so long.

This can't happen!

He can't let this happen!!!!

He was supposed to protect the God Cards, and he'd failed.

He could hold his Other Self back from killing Kaiba, but he couldn't stop him this time.

All he could do was watch in horror from the void between their rooms. The little silent duelist, screaming now, over and over, to a locked and heavy vaulted door, sealed in glowing blue light.

His screams turn to choked sobs.

His sobs slow, as the sound of his Other Self echoes through the void.

He can't feel sorry for himself now. He can't let him down again.

Maybe this is another puzzle. Maybe there's some way to break the Seal.

He remembers the last Duel, when Joey faced their old friend Mai. When that other Musketeer interrupted, breaking through the Seal of Orichalcos with that tiny stone he wore. He reaches for his neck, but that stone that his body wears isn't here, inside his Heart.

Desperately, Yugi takes the Puzzle in both hands, and raises it over his head. He screams, summons all the strength in his little body to drive the bottom point into the Seal that keeps him from his Other Half. Over, and over, and over. Relentlessly, as if his heart and soul depend on it.

Even as the heavy, stone door begins to crack.

A relatively long chapter and I might rewrite the end of it just a little...

Chapter 6

 

Eons ago…

 

Rozu had decided to keep the information that she had learned to herself. She refused to give her father the news that the dragons he was hunting had returned. She wanted to end him before he had the chance to ever attain immortality. She wanted to watch him burn for how he made her suffer…and she knew just who to find to be able to take out her father…the girl who had found a way to find her peoples dark magic…

 

She snuck out of the fortress one night and wouldn’t return until she had that magic…she would not return until she had a blade that could render her father powerless and she could slit his throat, watching him choke on his own blood.

 

She returned to the village in disguise, wearing her cloak and a scarf wrapped around her jaw and mouth and dressed in a set of black hunting gear. She had her daggers attached to her thighs and her sword on her hip. She didn’t carry much in terms of supplies since she could simply create what she wanted through her magic.

 

She wondered the streets for any signs of the archers or the knights but found nothing for the first few days…it seemed almost hopeless till she overheard some hunters mentioning that they had seen a group of green hooded men sneaking around the ancient forest to the east…that they were searching for a group of magicians that had taken refuge in there.

 

She stole a horse and headed out, traveling towards those very woods, arriving after a few days of travel. She stopped outside the dense forest, its dark purple oak trees stood tall, and their trunks massive as they were hundreds of years old, its red leaves moving gently in the breeze. Rozu had read of this place in her books, there was a legend that said that these very trees use to be alive and walked the vast landscapes, searching for a place to settle and lay their roots…

 

She rested her hand against the purple bark, feeling the energy that was flowing through it. She slowly headed into the dense forest, the ground covered in fallen red leaves that crunched beneath her feet as she walked. She looked around this place in pure wonder, the suns light gleaming through the leaves, filling the space with red and orange hues. It was truly beautiful. She heard the creatures moving about just out of sight, scuttling across the forest floor or moving in the trees. And amongst those sounds she heard singing…

 

Rozu followed the sound and reached a clearing, in the centre of it sat a girl that could be her age, her golden hair tied back in an elegant braid, a flower crown atop her head, and she was wearing a long purple and yellow dress with long sleeves. Her skin was pale with a sprinkle of freckles on her cheeks, her eyes were bright purple and she had the softest smile on her face. In her hands was some kind of bird like creature that she was singing too, the avian chirping along to her tune. At her feet were a few over small animals that were intrigued by this girl.

 

Rozu watched her with a frown on her face…something about this girl looked…familiar…like she had seen her from somewhere…she remained hidden as she sees goldilocks raise her hand and swirls it around slowly, sparks flying from her fingers times and dancing around the animals. Rozu’s eyes widened…light magic. This could be the girl she had been searching for…but what were the chances of that?

 

She was about to approach the girl when she gets grabbed and pinned to a tree, a green cloaked archer glaring at her as he held a blade to her throat, “Who are you?!” Rozu frowns before kicking him in the stomach, knocking him back, freeing herself. She couldn’t use her magic and risks giving herself away as one of the creatures these archers were fighting against. But she couldn’t let herself get caught, she pulled out her sword and was about to fight this man when a group of them descended from the trees, one of them grabbing the shoulder of the man that had attacked her, “Easy Andrious.”

 

The man glares at Rozu before the other pulls down his hood, the dark witch meeting a familiar set of green eyes. A smile forms on his face, “I know you.” Rozu shakes her head as she steps back, looking for a way to escape…Terra raises his hands, “Hey its ok. No one’s gonna hurt you here.” He turns to the other archers, “Its ok lads. She was the girl I was telling you about, the fire wielder that fought those mage-ies.” Well that was only partially true, she was trying to disperse the fighting more than anything else (and mage-ies was a slur used for the dark magicians).

 

Terra turns back to Rozu as she was still holding up her sword, “My name is Terra, leader of the woodland archers.” He gets down on one knee and places his fist over his heart as he bows his head, “You have my word that no one will harm you.” The red headed girl wasn’t sure about this…she knew they would try to capture her or kill her if they found out what she was…but they might be of use to her someday.

 

She seethed her sword and pulled down her hood and scarf, exposing her face as Terra stood, the two of them staring deeply into each other’s eyes, “My name is Roz-Rosie.” She says softly, still keep her guard up as he holds out his hand to her, “Welcome to out woods.” She eyes his hand before taking it and shaking it.

 

A moment later the golden haired girl from earlier comes running over, a big smile on her face, “Terry where did you come from?” she giggles as she hugs the guy tightly as he smiles too, the girl turning her attention to Rozu. She lets go of the guy and approaches the red head, examining her closely as she walked around her, looking at her curiously, “And whose this with you?” she picked up Rozu’s cloak and lifted it, the other growling and yanks the cloth back. Terra chuckles as he shakes his head, “This is Rosie. She was the fire bender that helped us the other day.”

 

The innocent girls amethyst eyes widened as she grinned and hugged Rozu tightly, “Oh that’s amazing!” Ok Rozu did not know what to make of this weirdo. Who the heck just hugs a random stranger?!  She shoves her off and pulls out a dagger as she glares at her but Terra quickly gets between them, facing the blondie, “Easy Clarity. Remember what your father said what you shouldn’t do when meeting new people?”

 

The girl pouted and folded her arms, “To not be affectionate until you know if they are comfortable with it.”

 

Ok what the heck?! Was this girl 5? Rozu didn’t get it at it all. She was behaving like a toddler. And did Terra say her name was Clarity? How could this little cream puff be the creature of those light magic weapons??

 

Terra ruffled the girl’s hair and nodded, “That’s right. Hey why don’t we head back to base for some lunch? I’m sure you’re hungry too Rosie.” He held out his hand to her, a gently look on his face. She Rozu hesitantly took his hand, a warm tingly feeling crawling up her arm and into her chest, making its way up to her neck and her cheeks…(in other words she was blushing). What type of sorcery was this?

 

Clarity giggles as she runs off with the other archers while Terra and the red haired girl walked together, “So uh where are you from?” was he seriously asking her questions? Did he suspect something? “Um far from here…” the raven haired guy nodded, “Why did you come here then, if you don’t mind me asking?” Rozu’s lips fell into a frown as she didn’t answer, “Hey I understand if you’re secretive. I was just curious…”

 

 

They walked in silence for a little while before Terra cleared his throat again, “Hey um…your fire powers…”

 

“What about them?!” she snapped at him, smoke seeping from the corners of her mouth. The raven head guy steps back, raising his hands defensively, “Easy. I-I didn’t mean anything by it…I just…I thought it was incredible…” he slowly lowers his hands as Rozu’s face softened ever so slightly, “Fire benders are rare. It’s not every day you meet someone that can do that considering any elementalist is captured or killed by the magicians.” He’s voice lowers for a moment.

 

Rozu tilted her head to the side slightly as she looked at the guy, he seemed to be upset…was he harmed by her people? She knew the magicians would enslave others or kill them but it never dawned on her that the families who had lost loved ones to the magicians would be hurt by this…then again she mainly focused on her own grief and suffering and her need to destroy her father. She felt bad for lashing out at Terra which was a first for her, she cleared her throat softly, “I noticed you how you moved the earth to protect me…are you…a magician or--” Terra laughs and shakes his head, “No no. I would sooner kill myself then be a mage-ie.” He shakes his head as he runs his fingers through his hair, “I’m an elementalist, one of the earth. Possibly the last of my kind…”

 

He walked over to a bush that was covered in green berries. He pulled out his blade and cut a few off and returned to Rozu, handing her a few, “I use to be part of a large village of earth elementals, and we lived in harmony with each other and the earth. Creating homes, structures, sculptures, dams, anything we needed we made by moving the ground beneath our feet.” he looks at the rest of the archers that were traveling in front of him and Rozu, popping a berry into his mouth, “We were a strong and hardy people. We kept to ourselves and didn’t look for trouble from anyone…at least until the magicians attacked us…”

 

A dark look crosses his face as Rozu keeps watching him, a feeling of guilt forming in her gut, “…I was 7 at the time. My father joined the men to try and fight them off while my mother tried to run with me in her arms along with some of the other woman and children…but you know how ruthless those bastards can be.” He clenched his fist, crushing some of the berries.

 

“They captured some of the men and slaughtered the rest…my father was one of the lucky ones to have escaped being taken…being dead is far better than to be in the hands of those monsters.” Rozu stayed quiet…she knew all too well what her father’s men had done to those that were captured…they were either turned into slaves to work the fields and serve the magicians…or they were dissected, torn apart and had their organs harvested for spells and magic…

 

“My mother wasn’t so lucky and neither were the other woman and children…they were completely annihilated, the woman blown to pieces by magic blasts while the children were taken. My mother managed to reach the woods surrounding out village and hid me in the hollow cavity of a tree before turning to run, to lead them away from me…” the red head saw a tear forming in his eye, “I didn’t see her die but I heard her blood curdling scream as they butchered her…when I thought it was safe I returned home to find it completely destroyed…blood and bodies everywhere…my life and my people wiped out within a matter of minutes…I stayed their till Lord Thymus and Critias found me, they took me in and raised me, helping me start the woodland archers and join the fight against the magicians.”

 

He sniffles softly as he stared at the ground, not sure why he had just told some girl he had just met his life story. The next moment he feels a hand on his shoulder. He turns and sees Rosie looking at him with a gentle look in her golden eyes; she was holding her scarf out to him.

 

Rozu hated hearing how cruel her people were, how their greed and need for power had destroyed so many lives. She had never really cared what they did if she was being honest since she never saw the results of her father’s cruelty. She was too focused on her own suffering…but hearing Terra’s story had made her feel…odd. She was experiencing something she had never felt before…empathy…

 

She watched the tears that had started to run down his cheek and wanted to give him something to wipe it away but all she had was her scarf. He looks at her strangely before taking it and wiped his cheek, “Thanks.” She simply shrugged and started blushing again for the third time that day, “It’s nothing.” Terra smiles as he tries to hand her back her scarf, but she lays her hand over his, gently pushing it back, “Keep it.” The corner of her mouth turning up in a small smile.

 

Terra grinned and wrapped he scarp around his neck, it felt warm against his skin. He looked back at the others, some of them talking to Clarity and laughing at her little quirks and jokes, “Many of us here have lost something to the magicians and their war…for a long time we thought there was no hope and that we would all end up falling to them…however we have something that they don’t know about…” he pulls out a dagger, the blade glowing, “…A way to stop their evil powers. Lord Hermos calls them Light force blades, able to bind a magician’s power, preventing them from harming anyone ever again. And it’s all thanks to her…” He pointed to Clarity.

 

Rozu gave a small nod as a few things were running through her mind…they soon reached a clearing, the raven head looking around confused before Terra whistled a strange tune and suddenly a few ropes dropped from high up in the trees, the archers taking hold of them before being yanked up into the air. Terra looks at Clarity, “You gonna need a rope?” she shakes her head and closes her eyes, her whole body glowing as a large pair of white feathered wings sprout from her back, Rozu’s eyes going wide. She was a creature of the sky!

 

Clarity’s eyes widened and she giggled as she flapped her wings, flying up into the sky while the raven head watched. Terra walked over to the stunned girl and slowly wrapped his arm around her shoulders, “Incredible right? A sky flyer and a light magic user…Lord Thymus believes she’s a hybrid.” Rozu looked at him confused, he grins as a rope is lowered for him, “I’ll explain later. Want a lift up?” he curls the rope around his forearm. Rozu is hesitant but nods.

 

Terra goes to put his arm around her waist but she steps back. He smiles softly at her, “Its ok. Trust me.” She didn’t know why but she moved back towards him, letting him wrap his arm around her waist and pulled her against his body. “Hold onto me.” He says as he yanks on the rope and the coupe is pulled into the air. Rozu quickly wrapped her arms around his neck and held onto him tightly…she wouldn’t not admit that she scared, she was just surprised…but that was quickly wiped away when she was surrounded by the most beautiful thing she had ever seen…a mix of reds and purples, the afternoon sun shining through them and hitting Terra’s face, giving him a breath taking glow that Rozu couldn’t take her eyes off of…he looked down at her, their eyes meeting and they stared into the depths of each other’s souls…

 

Back to the virtual world…

 

While all this was taking place with Yugi and the gang, what exactly was Noah doing?

 

Well for starters he was freaking out. First Gansely goes missing, completely disappearing from the system and then Crump followed by Johnsen…3 members of the Big 5 just gone. How was that even possible?! He searched the system for any glitches or back doors that had been opened where they could’ve escaped from…he even checked on the bodies in the pods in the real world to see if any of the bodies were missing, one of the ex-executives maybe having stolen on but that wasn’t the case either…

 

What was going on? No one leaves his world without him knowing! The other thing that could’ve caused their disappearances was the virus that was roaming the system that he could not for the life of him find or purge from the world…it was wreaking havoc in the virtual space.

 

Then there was the appearance of the weird little girl that was with Yugi. Where the hell did she come from?! And to make things weird was that whenever he tried to focus in on her, the screen would go static…perhaps this was the virus? But what was it?? How can a virus take a form of a human? He didn’t know what to do…he didn’t have time to deal with it anyways as he had yet another problem; Lillian.

 

He finally got the screen for the island she was on working again, only to discover that the girl was missing. Yet another thing that he couldn’t explain. She was still alive and in the system since her body was still in the pod in the real world but he couldn’t find her. What was also strange was the fact the ocean was behaving strangely, it wasn’t following the program and moving as if it had a mind of its own…

 

He decided that he would send out a wide search for her while he focused on the Kaiba brothers. He wanted to separate them and turn Mokuba against Seto but was finding it to be difficult. Even if he kept showing them memories of their past, reminding Mokuba how different Seto use to be when they were growing up and how he turned into a selfish and egotistical jerk, the younger brother seemed to stand by him still and refused to acknowledge any of the bad…

 

Something strange had occurred with Seto while his clone was duelling Lillian…As Noah was taunting the older Kaiba about how much better Lillian’s life would’ve been without him…a surge of energy burst from the older Kaiba and the screen went white, Noah loosing contact with the brothers for a few moments…this happened the same moment Lillian had launched her attack with the Blue eyes and the powerful sonic blast from her mouth before her screen went dark…

 

Eventually he got visual back on the boys and continued tormenting them…his program was scanning their minds the entire time, finding all sorts of memories he could use against them however he found something that disturbed him…memories of his father Gozuburo Kaiba (Yes Noah is Gozuburo’s biological son {no it does not make sense in the anime}) and the things he did to Seto…Noah couldn’t believe was he was seeing, he refused to believe…he ignored it, not wanting to think of his father as an abuser since he had nothing but fond memories with the man. He would not allow Seto to taint his memories of his father…

 

What came next was blow after blow of unexpected events…first Nesbit had kidnapped Mokuba and tried to get away with the kid but Noah intervened and saved the boy. Then Lector had duelled Seto and well…after Seto had destroyed the other man’s satellite, the falling debris had turned into monsters that not only killed Lector but attacked the other teens that had been watching the duel. Then Yugi has through the mysterious child into the ocean, the monsters following her and then turned into a giant woman made of shadows that threatened to destroy Yugi and his friends…then a tsunami hit, washing away the large monster, a dome of ice saving the teens from being taken away in the tide…

 

Yet another one of the Big 5 was gone and only Nesbit remained…what was he going to do with the man? But first he needed to deal with Mokuba…he had shown a memory of how his brother had used him to gain control of Kaiba Corp and how Seto didn’t care about the people in his life…he showed the child the duel between Lector and Seto and was shocked to see him cheering for his brother…Noah didn’t like this, he would need to use drastic measures.

 

He was about to summon the Kaiba clone he used against Lillian but then the monster attack happened, Mokuba panicking as he watches his brother getting knocked down and bitten by those flying beasts…only for it to look like a massive wave had swallowed up Seto and the others…Noah quickly shut off the screen, prevent Mokuba from seeing that everyone had survived…

 

The little boy broke down; tears streaming down his cheeks as he believed his brother and friends were dead. He sank to his knees, feeling broken and alone…not caring when Noah sits down beside him, pulling the shattered boy into his arms to sooth him, gently rubbing his back as he whispered, “It’ll be alright Mokuba…you’re not alone…I’m here for you…” he used another program to mess with Mokuba’s mind, brain washing into believe that Seto never existed and that Noah was his brother…what better way that to make Seto suffer than to make his brother forgot him…

 

Now that Noah has been covered, what about Lillian?

 

She had been traveling across the sea for what felt like forever, she was hoping and praying that her brother and Seto was ok, as well as Mokuba and her friends…this world was full of tricks and illusions…well that’s what she thought until she saw a broken bridge with her family and friends standing on it, face to face with some kind of large shadow monster…

 

A vision fills her mind of a woman with red hair, golden eyes and skin covered in witch like tattoos. She was surrounded by shadows and brimstone…a scythe made of black bones and a red tipped blade…she had met this thing before and she knew it was trouble. Thinking quickly she turned the wave she had been surfing on into a towering tsunami, stretching out her hands and covering her friends in a large Dome of ice to save them while the water washes away the monster.

 

But she doesn’t stop there, as much as she wanted to stay and reunite with her friends and family, she needed to get rid of this beast before it hurt the people she loved any further…she continued to glide over the water, pulling the shadow creature with her till they reached land. She leapt into the air, summoning a large spike of ice and sends it flying at the beast.

 

Rozu wasn’t expecting getting washed away by Lillian, she wasn’t expecting for her to have gained this level of control over her powers. And she definitely not expecting to be attack by her. She saw the oncoming spike and quickly moved out of the, barely missing it. She snarled at the siren as she continued to summon large pieces of ice and flinging it at her, one of them hitting Rozu’s shoulder, piercing through her flesh, making her his in pain.

 

She sends a large group of shadows at Lillian but the girl attacks back, opening her mouth and letting out one of her sonic screams, the ear piercing sound was agony for shadow creatures…Rozu cried in pain as she covered her ears, the darkness around her vibrating and shrieking as they receded back to the queen of darkness. She needed to escape before she is ripped apart…she grabs a nearby boulder and throws it at Lillian, the Siren barely dodging it but distracting her long enough for Rozu to get away.

 

When Lillian returned her attention back to the beast, she was gone. She slowly walked around for a moment, frowning as she couldn’t find the being. She knew she had encountered her before…a very long time ago. She knew it was dangerous and she knew it needed to be stopped, she just wished she could remember why.

 

Before she could continue looking for the creature, the eyes on her necklace started to glow and she could swear she heard Seto’s voice…this day could not get any weirder.

 

She once again summoned a block of ice and a river of water, using it to travel across the land to go find the others…Rozu watching her from a distance and following her…

 

Meanwhile back on the bridge…

 

Well…that just happened…nobody was sure how or what or why this even happened or where that wave even came from but they were glad it had saved them…

 

Téa was trying to help Duke with his wounded arm, having found a first aid kit in the track that they had taken to find Seto. She was wrapping his arm, glancing at Seto and Yugi who were standing on the edge of the broken bridge, staring off into the distance…

 

Yugi couldn’t believe what had happened but…Yami had been right…Rosie…that thing was a monster but where did it come from and what exactly was it? He wishes he knew and what did it want with them? He wanted to get Yami’s thoughts on the matter but the spirit had gone silent, returning to the depths of the puzzle.

 

He turned to look at Seto who had been quiet since the encounter, wondering what was going through his mind. He noticed that his leg was bleeding since one of the creatures had bitten him, it looked like it hurt, “Um…maybe you should let someone take a look at that…” Yugi suggested but Seto just mumbled softly, “I’m fine Yugi. This doesn’t concern you…”

 

Yugi sighs softly as he looks back at the vast ocean, “Sorry…” the two teens are quiet again before Seto asks something…unexpected, “Do you think it was Lillian that caused the wave?” Yugi turned to him with a look of shock on his face, since when did Seto Kaiba believe in Lillian’s abilities? And thinking about it now, it must’ve been her. Who else could create something like that?

 

But before he could answer Seto’s question the brunet pulled out his deck and searched through the cards before pulling out one of his Blue Eyes, setting it on his duel disk, the beast appears before him. He needed to go find his brother and Lillian…he turned to the others for a second before mounting his dragon, getting ready to fly off (since the bridge was destroyed at both ends, there was only one way they were getting off the structure and that was flying). Yugi calls out to Seto, but he doesn’t listen as his dragon takes up, seeing land in the distance.

 

Once Yugi was sure everyone else was alright, he summoned his Curse of Dragon and Joey brought forth his Red Eyes, the group of friends climbing onto the beasts and following Kaiba.

 

It didn’t take them long to find Noah, who was standing in a large area of molten rock and magma…fun.

 

Seto lands and confronts the twerp, demanding to know where his brother and girlfriend were. Noah just smirks and says that Mokuba was his brother now and as for Lillian…a bloodied torn up medical robe appears in front of Seto, Noah stating that he didn’t need to worry about her anymore…the brunet freezes for a second before taking the ruined piece of clothing…a mix of denial and devastation filling his head…this couldn’t be real…

 

Yugi and the others arrive a moment later, the short teen’s eyes going wide when he sees the blood soaked piece of clothing in Seto’s hands…the CEO snarls as he clenches the robe in his fists, calling Noah a liar but the kid just laughs as a screen pops up and shows everyone the duel between Lillian and the fake version of Seto…

 

The tall teen finds it sickening to watch, seeing a version of himself hurting the girl he loved and taunting her, seeing him tearing her stitches open and her bleeding out…he sees her strangling as she is blasted by his Ultimate dragon…the girl getting thrown into a tree before dropping to the ground…unmoving as the screen disappears. Yugi has tears streaming down his cheeks, he was sure it was Lillian that had saved them earlier but after seeing this…his hope was slowly fading and turning into despair, Téa holding the crying teen, trying to comfort him as Joey and Duke call Noah a monster.

 

The kid just shrugs, calling her weak and pathetic, saying that she never stood a chance in this world, and that it was all Seto’s fault. Kaiba stared down at the reddened fabric, slowly letting it go and fall into the lava below, watching as it burns. He then turns his gaze to Noah, a deep glare on his face; he refused to believe that she was gone. He knew deep down in his soul that she was still out there and that he would find her once he beat this snot nosed brat and got his brother back.

 

The green haired boy challenged Seto to a duel and started to explain why he was doing all this, that he was Gozuburo’s true son, that he had was in an horrible accident 6 years ago, that his body was left useless but his mind was still intact so Gozuburo created a virtual world for his son to reside in…but then the man adopted Seto and Mokuba, giving all his attention to them and slowly abandoning his very own biological child (which is honestly tragic). Noah wanted his life back; he wanted everything Seto had stolen from him, his home, his father and his company. Seto didn’t deserve any of it.

 

Seto was finding this all hard to believe, and honestly he didn’t care, he earned everything he had gained from Gozuburo, the man’s assets, his company and even his name. He had gone through hell and come out on top. He had freed himself from his oppressor and given his brother the life he deserved. He had turned a weapons company into one of the biggest gaming companies in the world. He had done this all and he would get rid of anyone that tried to take it from him.

 

The duel had started out difficult but Seto soon turned things around and was about to win when Noah brought Mokuba onto the field…stopping Seto’s finally attack. He is relieved to see that his little brother was safe but something was wrong…Mokuba looked at him with no recollection of who he was…the boy asking Noah who he was…the green haired kid explain that Seto was a bad man trying to steal Mokuba away from his true brother; Noah.

 

This nearly broke Seto, he tried to explain that he was Mokuba’s brother, that they were family, he tries to reach the boy but he stayed by Noah, acting as a human Shield…Kaiba couldn’t attack unless he wanted to attack his own brother…

 

The duel continues, Noah taking the lead as he’s deck master (which was an ark…his Noah and his deck is an ark…this is in the actually show) takes its true form, Shinato and is about to take out the remainder of Seto’s life points…the brunet staring at his little brother, begging for him to remember who he was…saying that he loved him but Mokuba just kept staring at him blankly while Noah smirks, laughing as he declares himself the winner…Seto falls to his knees, staring at the ground…

 

Yugi was watching all of this and despite his grief and sadness he tries to encourage Kaiba to stand up and fight, that he couldn’t give up. His friends join in to cheer him on but it falls on deaf ears…Seto had given up hope…he had lost the only two people he had ever cared about…

 

 

However just as the blast of energy is about to hit the defeated Kaiba, someone jumps in front of it, a wall of water coming out of nowhere and effectively blocking the attack. The water surrounding the person slowly freezes before shattering, spikes of water hitting Shinato and knocking the monster and Noah back. Mokuba stares at the glowing figure as they slowly descend to the ground…the small boy’s eyes widen as he leaves Noah’s side and runs over to the all too familiar figure, calling out to her “LILLIAN!”

 

Seto here’s this and quickly looks up as he is met with an unbelievable sight, there before him, dressed in a long flowing dress made of ice and water, her arms glowing and her hair blowing in the wind was his girl…She slowly turns to face him, a smile on her beautiful and very much alive face. She leans down and holds out her hand, “I thought Seto Kaiba doesn’t kneel before anyone.”

 

Without even thinking about it he stands up quickly and wraps his arms tightly around her, feeling her warm body against his, the beating of her heart against his chest, her arms wrapping around him and holding onto him just as tightly…she was here…she was alive…

 

The next second Mokuba is by their side, Lillian pulling back and catching him as he leaps into her arms. She holds him close, she returns her gaze to Seto, reaching up and caressing his cheek as she sees the tears in his eyes, “It’s going to be ok.”

Yugi’s Pokemon Team

So there was a topic of Ash vs Yugi on twitter

And basically it just devolved into if they're playing each other competitive Yugi would win but Ash would win if they physically had to fight

Some also said Ash would win Pokemon and Yugi would win Yugioh/Duel monsters not just for obvious reasons but because Ash is more adaptive and Yugi is more of a planner

It made me think what would Yugi’s Pokemon team be?

As the idea is that Yugi would use some competitive Pokemon and that's why he would win as he would be less restricted in Pokemon and such similar to the actual competitive Pokemon play where they use legendaries, mythical, etc as if it's normal which isn't in the anime

But also Yugi’s deck had a theme (not an archetype) of mostly medieval with magic, knights, and dragons and there are pokemon that can meet that theme even if they aren't the most competitive Pokemon

So this was my attempt at a Yugi team

Meowscarada is literally a dark magician lol and makes sense for a starter,

Braixen would have been the starter before gen 9 as it has the “magic rod” and everything but now it can fit the Dark Magician Girl spot (could be Delphox but thought Braixen for the apprentice aspect more since it's a middle stage)

Aegislash is for all the knight cards Yugi has from Celtic Guardian, Black Luster Soldier, Buster Blader, etc

Escavalier, after the dark magician, it seems Gaia the fierce knight is the most consistent of his stronger cards, as cards like summoned skull didn’t appear often and others aren’t as unique or strong, Gaia and Escavalier use the same weapon

Venonat, Venonat is the closest thing to Kuriboh and Kuriboh is such a big part of Yugi had to include

Rayquaza is the obvious pick for Slifer the Sky Dragon the Egyptian God that was the boss monster for them

So that's the team

Pretty strong, the starters are starters so they have good strength, Aegislash is versatile Escavalier is can be really strong, with Rayquaza as one of the most powerful Pokemon ever, Venonat is the weak point here but could be the equivalent to Ash’s Pikachu if we're concerned about stats

Could this team beat Ash’s?

Depends how strong they make the Rayquaza

As everyone else is possible with his starters, aces, Pokemon like Sirfetch’d are no joke, etc

So could be an even battle until Rayquaza comes then it comes down to is this a Pokemon that if he has Charizard, Greninja, Pikachu etc available can they do a legendary slaying performance or will it be like a Tobias Darkrai or a legendary raid battle where he stands no chance?

Kept Meowscarada and Aegislash as in the Yugi vs Atem battle Atem had more of the magician and Knight cards

Atem had the Egyptian gods so he keeps Rayquaza for Slifer

Alakazam just represents more of his magician cards

Druddigon is the most similar to some of his dragons like Timaeus

And Kingambit represent more knight cards maybe specifically the Kings Knight, Queens Knight, Jacks Knight cards

Yugi

Atem had the dark magician girl in their duel but this magician can represent more of the fruit magicians he used in DSOD

Magnezone for his Magnet warriors, they had a crucial part against Atem in their duel and are another staple for their joint deck

Golurk for his Fortress cards like Stronghold, Metamorphortress as he used that combination in nearly all his duels

Klinklang for the gadget cards like red gadget, gold gadget

Gardevoir and Gallade for his Silent Magician and Silent Swordsman they are his equivalent to Atem’s Dark Magician and Dark Magician Girl

Different teams, Atem has the same Rayquaza question but little Yugi, has a more technical team he's not going to overpower Ash but he could out-strategize him

Additional Pokemon to full out his reserves/deck

Sirfetch’d -another knight

Chesnaught - technically another knight

Armarouge/Ceruledge - fire knights might fit Joeys flame swordsman more

Corviknight - also another knight

Basically any dark, psychic, fairy, ghost, steel, or dragon type Pokemon as they generally cover a lot of the magic, knight, and Dragon, Yugi’s medieval theme has and some of Yugi’s toy/kid theme

I couldn't find a good equivalent for Gandora maybe a Pokemon like Zekrom but nothing I felt confident about picking

Same with Exodia don't know which Pokemon could fit that ionic card(s) maybe Regigigas as the ability slow start can match the need for all five cards to summon/win

Dark Magician Girl the Dragon Knight

Guess who's back again? It's Dark Magician Girl! The lines throughout this version feel so much more crisper than in the original art. I think it's because a lot of the lineart is highlighted by a white glow, especially around Dark Magician Girl herself; it matches really well with the interior highlights on her armor and such. The light reflection effect from the other art is maintained here to a lesser degree, moreso just focused on her sword, but also included this time is Timaeus' spikes off to the left. I really like that we get a full view of her shield and what the backside of her gauntlets look like in this version. I also love the decision to have her helmet juxtaposed over Timaeus' lower jaw. They flow so well together, creating the illusion that the helmet is part of his jaw. I must say though, I miss the highlighting effect used to imply the presence of scales in the original. His scales being more well defined here creates a little bit of wonkiness, most easily seen with his back spikes underneath Dark Magician Girl's arm that have no regard for scale placement. His pose is still cool though.

I have the HC that besides Yuya's Performapal/Entermate (maybe) the other Yu-Boys and Bracelet Girls deck were created by the residual energy from the Dimensional Dragons and EN Cards.

I think this because with the Yu-Boys their decks make too much connection with their dragons to just be a coincidence (Clear Wing Synchro Dragon is a Wind attribute Mechanical looking Dragon and all of the Speedroids are Wind Machine Monsters. Dark Rebellion XYZ Dragon is a Dark attribute (duh) Dragon with electrical powers and Blue light aesthetic, which the Phantom Knights are Dark attribute Monsters with either lightning powers or Blue light aesthetic. Starve Venom Fusion Dragon is a Dark Type Plant Dragon who has a clear predator vibe and Predator plants are Dark Attribute Plant Type monsters which are a mix of Predator animals and carnivorous plants) hell Yuya's Pendulum Magicians come from Astrograph Magician as shown before. Meanwhile the girls all have monsters that fit the theme of their bracelet and their EN Cards (Lyrilusc and EN Birds for XYZ. Windwitch an EN Winds for Synchro. Moonlight and EN Moon for Fusion and I guess if you stretch it a bit Melodius has ties to Flowers and therefore EN Flowers).

And I don't think they just found decks that correspond with their theme out of pure coincidence, the Entermate are an exception cause Yusho also uses them but even then you could argue it was fate too since Yuya also got them.

Homelands for My OCs and their origins

Dragon Empire

Dragon Empire is also the origin for Dragons as the ancestor founded and built as the domain. Some dragons are sending to the Isle of Cornelia for protecting the school and riding by the students or staffs if there's any danger. Also they used for train students for improve their bravery and have a bond of the relation.

This empire was a strict monarchy with the king and queen of Draconaheart family raising Laurel to be the next queen of the kingdom, while Seraphine and Isabella shall be the youngest princesses.

It is also the home of Nymphs. Their mission is gone to protect the world. Laurel is the one of them, later become a Supreme Nymph. They lived in the Forest of Dreams further to the kingdom.

The language of the history book is written in kingdom's official language which only those live in the past century know to read, and made it difficult for young generation.

Aurora Empyrean

The neighboring kingdom of Dragon Empire and is known for the home to many brave heroes and natural-born leaders, with the members of the current royal family being ones themselves.

It was monarched by the heiress whom related to Dragon Empire. She is the only queen who lead a group of skilled warriors in order to protect the magic world from the dark forces.

The rulers of two joint the team for long after the war against the forces. Soon after, two neighboring kingdom were have a fight due to unavailable reason.

Likewise, it has an unknown isle near the kingdom where the magic school built for magicians to study. The current Headmistress to the school is the friend of the late queen.

Over the years, the queen gave birth to an infant girl and sealed the barrier for a protection. The palace was in frozen over the hundred years and the queen eventually death in the long slumber. It became a desolate realm with ice and snow, cursed by the Dark Wizard. However, the princess was missing after the wizard's spirit conquered the place.

Years pass, Ella and her friends revive the kingdom. After defeats the spirit of the wizard with the help of the her late mother's magic, life returns to the kingdom. As a result, Ella ruled the land of her birth and then married Albert, once again uniting the two kingdoms.

It's also a celebration in the Vougefleur dorm, where students perform activities such as passing the magic mirror and labyrinth tests.

In addition, crystal-loving citizens must not miss the "Crystal Festival". Still, it's not just Thanksgiving, it's also a big day for shopaholics to buy what they want at every store. Plus her parents have been so busy buying materials for their business that they've been huddling with a bunch of people. This is why Celine often has to go home for a few days off.

It is the oldest kingdom still in existence on the Twisted Wonderland map. However, only citizens who live there can enter or leave the kingdom when the teleportal is open. It is ruled by the Emperor and his daughter, Crown Princess Mizuno Sakura.

The kingdom has a bumper harvest of cherries, plums, apples, etc., which is one of the reasons why the country holds the "Flower and Fruit Harvest" festival. This celebration brings together tourists alike, and has even made the country a favorite tourist destination.

There is a cottage in the dark forest of the distant kingdom where Valeria is quarantined due to her photophobia. It is also a habitat for animals such as squirrels, rabbits, owls and more.

The reason why this country is called the "Magnolia Kingdom" is because it used to be a place full of magnolia trees, and it was also a place where pharmacists came to pick magnolias. They say the flowers and bark can be made into medicine to treat symptoms like weight loss and anxiety.

Likely to Melodie Kingdom, the nation is the famous local for the visitors. Many stores around the town that comes from other countries, most of the beauty cosmetics, fashions and ancient artifacts.

Flutterville Meadow

The small village where Silvia and Annabelle lived in. It is a part of the Spring Greenland.

There is a story that these two places were started by the Harvest sisters. The older sister built an orchard and the younger sister a garden. They all focus on the plants in their locale.

The story sparked speculation about what the sisters had been unidentified. Some people think they quarreled and separated. Others have speculated that the sisters were part of a half-family where their mother died and they moved away from their father.

Pretty like Harveston Village, Flutterville Meadow is the place where many elderlies lived. It has many tourists come to see the beautiful flower meadow and celebrate the flower fest together.

There is a special place that only the villagers are familiar with, that is the Willow of Life. This is the magic tree planted by the sister on her deathbed. The wind blows, every leaf has its own melody. Villagers can hear its leaves ringing like small bells while tourists only can hear the sound of rustle.

As far as the deadline, which has now been extended, the last full day to enter/vote will be February 7th, 11:59 EST (though admittedly I will start counting up votes the following morning). baldur's gate 3 yu-gi-oh deck archetypes

combining my oldest special interest with my new one let's goooo, with the caveat I have not watched any YGO series fully since Zexal and only skimmed the synchro arc of Arc-V, so this is mainly going to be archetypes from the first 3 series simply because I stopped paying attention after that point lol

Wyll - Fortune Lady (Carly's deck from 5Ds) I like the dark magic vibe with a little bit of "forces from beyond looking over your shoulder" from them being used to read the future, but also the cards all work together in tandem in an interesting way

Gale - Magician-theme (Dark Magician, Dark Magician Girl, etc.) Partially because haha wizard but also I think the spell counters and the way it all flows together would fit him really well

Karlach - Guardians (Rafael's deck from DM, like Eatos) Each of them has a corresponding weapon card they're tied to which I like, and also that none of them should ever hit the graveyard. I was tempted to go with a fire theme like O'Brien's Volcanic deck but it's focused on getting cards into the graveyard, the exact opposite to Guardians, so I guess either would work depending on her arc

Lae'zel - Gusto (psychic/wind) I was tempted to go with a dragon theme but I think the combo of psychic and wind fits her very well. I used to run this deck and it's very defense-heavy and about getting the most Gusto monsters on the field at once to overwhelm the opponent

Shadowheart - Black Rose (Aki's from 5Ds) it was too easy. the flower motif. the repression of emotions and memories. being manipulated by a dark force who wants to use your powers to hurt where you could have healed. She is very Aki-coded, to me

Astarion - Light Burn/Heal (I can't think of an equivalent in the anime/manga but like, examples of monsters would be Honest and Avenging Knight Parshath) listen I almost went for the obvious vampire deck joke but genuinely I like this a lot. The light theme for that missing part of his life (returned to him during tadpoling). Despite being light/cute sometimes you can hit really hard with it and make it eerie/creepy, and I think Burn/Heal would definitely be something trained into him

Halsin - Fairy/Spirit World (Ruka's from 5Ds) Everything about duel spirits/the spirit world fits Halsin so well, esp if like I did with Shadowheart you compare the Shadow Curse to Ruka having to drive darkness out of the spirit world to save Ancient Fairy Dragon. Also it's just a very powerful deck that's deceptively cute/small but hits hard

Jaheira - Crystal Beast (Johan's from Gx) I thought about giving this to Halsin but I really think the family vibe of the crystals fits Jaheira so well, and they're all very sarcastic & stubborn like she is, she would absolutely just sit around petting Amethyst Cat even though no one else can see her

Minsc - Amazoness (Tania's from Gx) strong women kicking ass for our strong man who drinks all of his Respecting Women juice

Minthara - Volcanic (O'Brien's from Gx) the best reason not to give Volcanic to Karlach was because I like it for Minthara. I can't articulate entirely why this feels right (outside of similarities to the very militaristic saboteur vibes she and O'Brien share) but there's something about her saying "When the trivial parts have been whittled away, and I have sifted through what remains, in most cases a person amounts to nothing at all."
