Ballad of Rapunzel is my favorite Dark Parables game, and The Thief and the Tinderbox is my least favorite. Kai is my favorite character. I'm a young adult, and I first played Dark Parables when I was really little.

As soon as Cube comes over, Thursday points down into the water, speeding away below them in iridescent, deep blue waves.

Something is moving in the water. Quickly. Breaching every so often.

"Dolphins! They're dolphins!" she laughs with glee, her entire expression lit up with its own glow. "I've never seen dolphins before! Ahahahaha! Oh aren't they wonderful?"

She leans over the railing a little and shouts down to them, "So long! And thanks for all the fish!"

For the Fan-Comic it's found on @shadowroxz13's Blog as I think it's a collaborative piece between ShadowRoxz and her friend @booplesgear as they write and do the art for it respectively (Shadow writes the story, and Booplesgear makes the art.) I think the comic is on chapter 3 at the moment, Shadow is currently busy writing the rest of the story, but she loves to chat with people anything regarding Dark Parables and Cursery as well.

And for the Thirst Blog @darkparablesthorst Where every character from both Dark Parables and the sister series Cursery, are available for requests as their ask box is open for it! and I believe that it's run by @sketchlove, one of the oldest members of the Dark Parables fandom I've seen on here, they're writing is AMAZING and need more recognition for it.

Hey friend!

Maybe this has been asked before, but was Avery inspired by anyone? ( ·ิϖ·ิ)

I don't think anyone has ever asked me this on this blog! Honestly, I've tried many times to nail down exactly what inspired Avery, but... I never can, not completely.

This is going to get long, I'm sorry.

I turned 30 last year. It wasn't in a "midlife crisis" or depressive kind of way, but I started thinking a lot about how I wanted the rest of my life to go, and what I wanted out of life that I'd never had a chance to have. I decided that there were two things I really yearned to do -- make art, and make friends. I figured a good place to start dipping my toes in would be Tumblr, since I'd used it in the past and I knew there would be a lot of art here to inspire me. And I was inspired... massively. Especially after I started actually drawing, myself. I started getting more ideas at once than I'd ever had in my life, and it triggered a bout of insomnia I am still dealing with now, almost six months later.

The first time I can remember thinking about Avery was during one such sleepless night, desperately trying to coax myself to sleep. Laying in the dark, I'd close my eyes and imagine leaving my body, floating above my apartment complex. I'd wander around like a ghost, exploring places I'd seen, but which are normally inaccessible... private roads, fenced estates, etc. I'd imagine sitting on the edge of a skyscraper, watching the city move beneath me, imagining what people were doing, why they were up so late, etc.

I imagined this many nights... It became a pet fantasy. When I was a kid, I read a book called Billy the Bird by Dick King-Smith, maybe that's where I got the idea... I don't know. Along with the insomnia were vicious bouts of nostalgia, too, so... It's possible.

But, anyway... I'd get lonely.

I wanted someone to talk to, so I imagined someone sitting with me. Someone who could only come out at night, for fear of being seen. Someone for whom sitting on the edge of a skyscraper was no concern, and who could catch me if I fell. I imagined he was soft, gentle... a good listener, maybe even a bit shy. I imagined he was an intellectual, capable of being quite serious, but never dour. He was quick with a smile, and it was easy to make him laugh.

In some respects, I suppose, he was inspired by a friend of mine, who died many years ago. In most ways, he wasn't like Avery at all -- he was extremely blue-collar, the exact opposite of an intellectual, and very outgoing. He was not refined in any way, and could even be quite reckless, at times. But, he had a unique, gentle, innocent sort of kindness that I've found to be exceedingly rare. To know him was to love him, really; he was a hard worker and a fierce friend, someone who wanted nothing more than to love and be loved. My relationship with him and the way his passing affected me touches everything I make and everything I do, intentional or not.

When I was building Avery's character, I was very fascinated by object heads at the time (particularly Prince Robot from Saga), and I was also seeing a lot art for "doctor/scientist" type characters. Despite never playing the game, I liked TF2 fanart, especially of Medic. I thought about other characters I'd fixated on, too, and what exactly I liked about them... Milo Thatch from Atlantis, Data from Star Trek, John from Homestuck, Sans from Undertale, Stanley and the Narrator from The Stanley Parable, Pokemon professors both Oak and Elm, Nightcrawler from X-Men, Wilson from House, Dr. Bashir from DS9... The list goes on, really.

I know this is kind of a non-answer, and I'm sorry about that. It isn't really a clear answer for me, either. All I can really say for sure is this: Avery is the embodiment of everyone and everything I've ever loved, as well as the reflection of my own self-love. Relatively speaking, we just met, but I feel like he's been here the whole time. I've made so many wonderful friends because of him, too! Can't say what the exact moment was, only that now that he's here, I can't imagine life without him. 💙

This here is one The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe fan blog.

You may find that it exists on several mostly separate layers of reality:

[The Parable] The game itself, with all of its wacky inhabitants and quirky office adventures*! What are Stanley, the Narrator and the rest of the gang up to? In this tag, you will find all kinds of colorful depictions of what is happening inside the Parable.

*bloody murder, deceit and existential crises, but all in good fun.

[The Pre-Parable] Equally quirky and sitcom-esque, this is the office as it was, supposedly, before the Narrator deleted everyone. A happy bunch of employees who may or may not be under a subtle case of mind control. Contrary to what it sounds like, this is not set in the past - rather, it's yet another timeline playing out exclusively in the back of the Narrator's mind. Or is it?

[Post-Parable] Error: The Stanley Parable cannot end.

[Lore] Lore's corner may be a little on the visually bland side, but at least it knows what the hell is actually going on. Like, actually-actually. None of that dangerous half knowledge all the other guys keep spawning. Lore is our very local Wikipedia in here. It's 100% objective and doesn't hold grudges toward anyone whatsoever.

[Ask the Crew] All of these layers do their own thing here and there. All of them can be reached out to. Feel free to [send a question] or two. There's only one catch: While you can address anyone you like, there's always a chance that someone else will answer instead.

And remember that the Parable is a very unstable construct bound to its purpose - digging too deep might well cause a restart… or at the very least leave us with more questions than answers on either side.

What follows is the experience of the people who tried this prayer/invocation and their experience with it. My sleep pattern changed quite unexpectedly - I'm not really a night owl, but I'm not a morning person either, and yet I have been consistently waking up quite a bit before sunrise. Whether I need to or not, and really, whether I like it or not. 2. There's a greater sense of clarity in my thinking - it's not that "a fog has lifted," but rather it feels like it doesn't have time to form, even with all my natural overthinking and despite all sort of uncertainties. Feels like there might be a little bit more to it than just my newly-found morning person thing. There's a lot of decisions I have been able to make, a lot of plans I have been able to devise much my satisfaction, with a kind of speed and with confidence in the clarity of my appraisals beyond my usual experience. 3. In my relationship with Divinity, there's been a subtle sense of what I can best describe as a kind of "effortless closeness." This might "just" be the effect of the poetics of the prayer, as the plunging in the sea and the lamp niche evoke that sort of feeling for me (while, on the othe hand, the imagery of the shield feels a bit martial and a lot more energetic) - still, it does feel that this prayer helped me (to paraphrase the Gospel of Philip) enter through the image/feeling and step into the reality behind it. Even if "just" in a very subtle way. Patches بَشوش of www.WayOfHermes.com said the following: I absolutely love the invocation of light prayer. After the second or third recitation I decided to smooth it out into better flowing english. The first section is beautiful, asking God to baptize oneself into a sea of pure light.

Next we recognize one of the names of God: al-Nūr as we ask for more protection

And then the chanting of His Divine Names and the italicized section are definitely my favorite part and a great way to end the invocation. A poetic description of Allāh and then ending in some attributes of God.

This prayer will be staying in my recitations for the coming future. Thanks again! [new as of 15th of March, 2023] After some time of using this prayer I have been feeling more optimistic and fulfilled in general, but especially right after recitation. I recently started doing 3 times in a row.

(Except one in which I was so busy I didn’t realize I hadn’t done it until I was getting ready to go to bed. That was a quick, single recitation.) More often than not the Invocation of Light precedes the invocation of the Mansion spirit for the day. Today is day 11. I plan on a run of 40 days or longer. In terms of results, they have been subtle. The first couple of days we got a bunch of snow and the weather after the storm was clear and bright. The snow made the sunny days almost blindingly brilliant and I found the coincidence notable. I have also had some movement on a long term project and an urge to expand my knowledge of the I Ching. At work I seem to be treated as if I have more authority. My intuition is strengthened and I feel I am getting insights into magical pursuits with an increased ability to understand and talk about them. I am definitely going to keep doing this invocation. A Friend of mine who didn't want to share their information, shared the following with me: I performed the prayer you gave me only once and woke up at almost 3 am and saw vivid auburn colors And felt a warm sensation and that I was beginning to rise

New Update: 19th of March 2023, new friend who didn't want to disclose his name said the following, I'm taking my time with this, but I can say this prayer has plenty of benefits. So far it has been a success for me to open myself up to the unseen. Im going to delve further into it for it sure is a lovely prayer --------------------------- I will add other people's experience as time goes on, but so far I am happy, excited, and honored by all the people's results with this prayer. It is a very wonderful prayer that I myself found a noticeable difference with it, like a blessing of divine light is given with each recitation. It’s Independent Bookstore Day! I love bookstores, especially indies. I’m a recovering bookseller (love you, BakkaPhoenix!) and an inveterate and absurdly optimistic buyer of books — just this weekend, I bought three books at the LA Times Festival of Books, from Pages and Octavia’s Bookshelf!
