Because, see, in the first frame Darling’s expression is just one of concern, right, because this is obviously a very tense situation for everyone and Darling’s trying to reassure them the best she can.

BUT, Darling’s expression seems to change when she’s talking about Apple’s happily ever after, which, at this point in the story, everyone thinks will happen because of Daring.

DO YOU SEE THIS? BECAUSE MY DELUSIONAL ASS SURE DOES.

man, like, just the way darling is looking at apple in the second pic; the expression is so lost and hopeless in a way, because she thinks that even if she’ll get apple back, apple will never end up being her true love yk.

Remembering that Ever After High getting canceled after they showed Darling Charming being the destined princess of Apple White, really hurt me.

Cause I grow up watching cartoons focused on girls - Winx, W.I.T.C.H, Totally Spies... And finally being able to see a girl falling for another girl on this type of shows was amazing. But they got canceled!!!

So, I decided in my mind that Apple and Darling got their happily ever after. With them traveling the world and living adventures, and then when it was Apple turn to take the throne they settle down and where the most amazing queens in the world.
