The Fusions
(5/25/24 Edited to include Annihilation and Lightspeed Aurora) (9/10/2024 Edited to include Remnant) (11/28/24 Edited for Project Thunder) (6/12/25 Edited because I realized the shit that went down with Zero in canon probably counts)
Explanation of how fusions work in the AU Here
Database
Introduced Here
Type: Linked/True (unclear which)
Components: Administrator/Moderator/Program/Virus
The Creator of the Digital Multiverse, composed of the first four Digital Beings to ever exist.
Matrix
Introduced Here
Type: Standard
Components: Chip/Bandwidth
Capable of True Fusion, but Chip and Bandwidth prefer Standard since it lets Matrix sort-of be his own person.
Antivirus
First appeared Here Properly Introduced Here Revealed to be a Fusion Here
Type: Failed
Components: Glitch/Red Doomguy
Formed while his components were literally dying, which resulted in some pretty significant differences from most Failed Fusions (and most Fusions in general).
Bit
Introduced Here
Type: Linked
Components: Domain/Forum/Juliano
Forced into being by Rogue Admin Cookie, which resulted in temporary amnesia.
Entropy the Collector
Introduced Here
Type: Failed
Components: unknown program and virus
Completely insane and proud of it.
Zer0
Type: Unknown, probably Linked
Components: Niles and SMG0
The end result of Niles' failed attempt to cure his instability and subsequent fall to madness. Mistakenly believed to have been a Virus by SMGs 1 and 2.
Eldritch Axol
Type: Unknown, probably Linked
Components: Niles, SMG0 and Axol
The end result of Zer0's Eye's possession of Axol in the Genesis Arc.
Network
Introduced Here
Type: Standard
Components: Abyssal/Overseer
Marggy
Introduced Here
Type: Standard
Components: Avatar Mario/Meggy Spletzer
The first successful, non-forced character-level code-based fusion (that we know of), made possible by Mario's unusually powerful Avatar code.
Annihilation
Introduced Here
Type: Standard
Components: Antivirus/Mira
Very fast, very strong, very angry. Didn't result in a Failed Fusion despite being between an Admin and a Virus due to Antivirus's unusual nature.
Lightspeed Aurora
Introduced Here
Type: Standard
Components: Twilight Sparkle/Rainbow Dash
Even though they're using Equestrian Magic instead of Code it technically counts since Twilight based her spell on observations of a code-based fusion. She cheated, basically.
Don't have any notes on the fusion herself yet, except that between Rainbow's usual flight capabilities and Twilight's Alicorn-level Pegasus Magic she definitely lives up to her first name.
Remnant
Introduced Here
Type: Standard
Components: Emulator/Manifest
Jumpman
Introduced Here
Type: Standard
Components: Mario/Luigi
Creation
Introduced Here
Type: True Fusion
Components: Emulator/The Gamer Girl
The second most powerful Fusion we've ever seen, after Database.

lmfao someone who commissioned AI generated images from Bing and tagged them as “fanart” tried to follow me, an actual digital artist. Blocked.
#Newsflash: pressing buttons on Bing to make it chop up and mash together images from the internet does not make you an artist#I wouldn’t have a problem with it if the process were ethical#and it picked from a specific database of work the artists consented to be uploaded to the mainframe#That would be fine; I’d participate in that and give it art to see what it cranks out#But I still wouldn’t call the end result art#I’d call it… computer fever dream#Only after AI gains sentience can you call its work art#AI right now is awful#same with filters and all convenience-centric low-effort means of so-called “creation”#It’s just a vehicle to let lazy anti-intellectuals with egos too large for their skill sets boast about how creative they are#at the expense of the people who actually put in the blood sweat and tears to create things#It reminds me of those kids in school who called themselves nerds when they weren’t interested in learning at all#and actively picked on the real nerds with unconventional interests#Sorry but no. You’re not smarter than everyone else and you’re not fooling anyone; if you want skills you have to work for it#Don’t say you’re skilled when you’re not even trying to be; it’s genuinely offensive to those who do try at any skill level#Full offense#I don’t have a problem with people who use certain types of AI for humor or describing what something they saw looks like#but I do have a problem with people taking credit they don’t deserve#No you’re not an artist if you only use AI#pick up a pencil and put it to paper

This almost perfectly fits an alternate version of an OC of mine… hm…
It probably happened at some point with someone else though, so let’s go for it!
-
Working with the League of Heroes had been her dream since she’d unlocked her meta abilities. Like, super strength, durability, and flight?! Classics! She loved helping people too!
Initially, she started doing small hero things on the side whilst she finished up high school, and then, she was lucky enough to be approached by the League! They’d heard of her and offered her a position to join!
She spent more time with them than she did at home, with parents who couldn’t care less for her. The pay was minimum wage, but she was still in high school, and living with her parents, so it was fine.
But then she turned 18.
Her parents kicked her out, and even though she’d been saving for the last 8 months, she had nowhere near enough to afford an apartment. Getting a second job was out of the question, she got called on for missions often, questions would be asked. It was heavily discouraged if you worked with the League.
So she threw herself into league work, dropping out of high school. She needed money, and despite asking, she wasn’t given a raise.
She wanted to believe in the League still. Sure, the rules were a bit loose at times, and they called her out of school for missions at times, but they did a lot of good!
But then Blackstar, one of the top members, had his younger sister quit the league and vanish into thin air.
It had been a long time coming. Fern Amery, AKA Daybreak, had been a member of the League since she was 13, just after she’d gotten her powers. Despite that, she had been on one total mission. Most of the world didn’t even know what her powers were (plants, though many assumed water because of her blue costume). It wasn’t that she was bad at her job or anything. She was the most skilled out of all the teen heroes. But her brother was overprotective to a fault. Fern had practically been raised at the League, taught most of the teen heroes to fight, yet every mission request was turned down.
What exactly had caused her to quit out of the blue was a mystery. Well, sorta. The mission she’d been on, dealing with a killer robot, had something to do with it. But whether it had to do with the called for destruction on the suddenly harmless robot or the odd… disappearance of the man who’d created the robot was up for debate.
Off topic, whoops.
Packing the last of her things into her bag, Jade Stone, AKA Rebecca McLean stared around at the small room that she gad lived in for the past almost two years.
The League gave her a minimum wage. They gave her a place to sleep. They gave her food.
But there were more underlying issues that she hadn’t noticed before.
What exactly had happened to the man who made the robot was a secret kept by the higher ups, but rumors of him having been killed were spreading. The rumors of what had happened to Lady Arsenic, and whether her manor burning down was actually an accident had started up again.
And the thing about living at the League’s base was… you were expected to be ready to do hero things at all hours of the day. If you were at the base, you had to be working, there was no time for personal activities or hobbies.
But she was never going to get her own space at this pay rate.
Rebecca closed her bag, and shouldered it, leaving the room the way it had been when she’d first used it.
She wanted to use her powers to help people, but not to the point when she lost herself. She didn’t want to become like Blackstar. He’s started out like she had, a teen hero with stars in his eyes. Fern had looked up to him.
But along the way he had changed.
She refused to be like that.
One of the several “villain” teams had offered her a place in their ranks. They had good pay, she could get her GED, go to college, get an actual job, whilst still helping people. Even if it was more… morally grey this way.
She would’ve loved to join the hero team Fern had started, and when she’d reached out to Fern (Fern’s location wasn’t really a secret, her brother had been half stalking her and her new teammates) she’d been willing to let her join. The team seemed great too. The gal behind the chair (likely the robot, and also Fern’s girlfriend), Silverwolf the alien shapeshifter, Shepard the no power genius, and even Cardinal, the absolute sunshine (though she was a mystery. No one knew how her powers worked (she wasn’t a meta, nor was she alien), nor did anyone know her identity, something that Blackstar was extremely upset about).
But the issue was that Fern didn’t provide pay at all. She didn’t make much money herself, nor did the others, and there was still the issue of working a regular job. Not to mention Rebecca didn’t have a high school diploma.
So a “villain” team it was.
Rebecca let out a deep breath, and headed out to her new life.
So long, League of Heroes. It was good while it lasted, but she needed something else.
-
Characters mentioned (full names that might have not been disclosed):
Blackstar AKA Kiran Amery (hero)
Daybreak Vera AKA Fern Amery (hero)
Automated Vengeance Android AKA Ava (hero)
Silverwolf AKA L'ynx Kenshin (hero)
Shepard AKA Rheagan Auger (hero)
Cardinal AKA ??? (hero)
Jade Stone AKA Rebecca McLean (hero villain??)
Lady Arsenic (villain, deceased)
You are a superhero who joined a team for pay and benefits. However, the pay is minimum wage since you have no education and they made it so you are blackballed in the civilian world so you can’t work there either. So imagine their surprise when you joined the villain’s team.
#writers#writers on tumblr#writing prompts#writeblr#writing inspiration#miraculous#my writing#my ocs#in case anyone was wondering the smaller hero team mentioned at the end is the main cast of this story#Rebecca was an on the spot creation (which is why she’s unnamed for so long)#but this world needs more superheroes so more I shall make#fun fact Fern stole her brother's money#Blackstar cares but there's corruption#I revealed everyone else's identities because it's stuff Rebecca would know when she goes looking on the database#but no one knows who Cardinal is!#yipee!#kinda the whole point of this story (not just this snippet) is that the league of heroes is corrupted#think SHIELD from the MCU#oh the guy who made the robot (Ava) is dead#superhero universe

We had like a two-hour meeting where we created a database and ensured that it "built" properly for all of us, then I picked one of the "really big" tasks (that I was pretty sure I could do a LOT quicker than was assumed, because I'm lazy like that).
Finished it in like... an hour. We budgeted it for 12. Hmm... Starts looking into the fine-print of the task, just in case there's anything there about "making it look pretty" or whatever.
Nope. Nothing. All it says is-... Sort? They explicitly have to be sorted? Well, they'd be sorted chronologically automatically by the database (since they're added one after the other over time), so that shouldn't actually be a problem.
But since I've clearly got a LOT of time on my hands, let's see what a sorting-function would do for it-...
Wait. What the fuck do you mean the forum-posts aren't actually attached to the forum-threads anywhere in the database? What do you mean you unmapped the things because it complained that it didn't know where you wanted to save it? What the fuck is this-...
Well, let's just create a bug-note and leave it there for tomorrow's meeting. That'll be fun.
#again. this is more hilarious than it's infuriating. bcs whether we produce something or not isn't super-relevant#but i'm pretty sure this happened bcs the database-creation complained about#''on which one of these (with equal claim) did you actually want to save the connection to this?''#and the guy responded (whilst i was distracted bcs i'm easily bored) by saying NONE OF THEM#which is objectively hilarious and definitely a dumb mistake that i've done myself at some point#and it's also why you should be REALLY FUCKING CAREFUL about ever using NotMapped as an annotation#laughing#school#personal stuff

~Introduction~
Hey, this is ChipsterTool's "official" secondary blog!
This is a blog where things like my OCs and stories come about. So I hope to provide any information related to my stuff. (^o^) /)
#I might also RP as my OC Vinny on this blog too!#I kind of want to make it seem that my “Mascot” (that used be a short-lived dA one) runs the blog as a database for my creations

Generative AI Policy (February 9, 2024)
As of February 9, 2024, we are updating our Terms of Service to prohibit the following content:
Images created through the use of generative AI programs such as Stable Diffusion, Midjourney, and Dall-E.
This post explains what that means for you. We know it’s impossible to remove all images created by Generative AI on Pillowfort. The goal of this new policy, however, is to send a clear message that we are against the normalization of commercializing and distributing images created by Generative AI. Pillowfort stands in full support of all creatives who make Pillowfort their home. Disclaimer: The following policy was shaped in collaboration with Pillowfort Staff and international university researchers. We are aware that Artificial Intelligence is a rapidly evolving environment. This policy may require revisions in the future to adapt to the changing landscape of Generative AI.
-
Why is Generative AI Banned on Pillowfort?
Our Terms of Service already prohibits copyright violations, which includes reposting other people’s artwork to Pillowfort without the artist’s permission; and because of how Generative AI draws on a database of images and text that were taken without consent from artists or writers, all Generative AI content can be considered in violation of this rule. We also had an overwhelming response from our user base urging us to take action on prohibiting Generative AI on our platform.
-
How does Pillowfort define Generative AI?
As of February 9, 2024 we define Generative AI as online tools for producing material based on large data collection that is often gathered without consent or notification from the original creators.
Generative AI tools do not require skill on behalf of the user and effectively replace them in the creative process (ie - little direction or decision making taken directly from the user). Tools that assist creativity don't replace the user. This means the user can still improve their skills and refine over time.
For example: If you ask a Generative AI tool to add a lighthouse to an image, the image of a lighthouse appears in a completed state. Whereas if you used an assistive drawing tool to add a lighthouse to an image, the user decides the tools used to contribute to the creation process and how to apply them.
Examples of Tools Not Allowed on Pillowfort: Adobe Firefly* Dall-E GPT-4 Jasper Chat Lensa Midjourney Stable Diffusion Synthesia
Example of Tools Still Allowed on Pillowfort:
AI Assistant Tools (ie: Google Translate, Grammarly) VTuber Tools (ie: Live3D, Restream, VRChat) Digital Audio Editors (ie: Audacity, Garage Band) Poser & Reference Tools (ie: Poser, Blender) Graphic & Image Editors (ie: Canva, Adobe Photoshop*, Procreate, Medibang, automatic filters from phone cameras)
*While Adobe software such as Adobe Photoshop is not considered Generative AI, Adobe Firefly is fully integrated in various Adobe software and falls under our definition of Generative AI. The use of Adobe Photoshop is allowed on Pillowfort. The creation of an image in Adobe Photoshop using Adobe Firefly would be prohibited on Pillowfort.
-
Can I use ethical generators?
Due to the evolving nature of Generative AI, ethical generators are not an exception.
-
Can I still talk about AI?
Yes! Posts, Comments, and User Communities discussing AI are still allowed on Pillowfort.
-
Can I link to or embed websites, articles, or social media posts containing Generative AI?
Yes. We do ask that you properly tag your post as “AI” and “Artificial Intelligence.”
-
Can I advertise the sale of digital or virtual goods containing Generative AI?
No. Offsite Advertising of the sale of goods (digital and physical) containing Generative AI on Pillowfort is prohibited.
-
How can I tell if a software I use contains Generative AI?
A general rule of thumb as a first step is you can try testing the software by turning off internet access and seeing if the tool still works. If the software says it needs to be online there’s a chance it’s using Generative AI and needs to be explored further.
You are also always welcome to contact us at [email protected] if you’re still unsure.
-
How will this policy be enforced/detected?
Our Team has decided we are NOT using AI-based automated detection tools due to how often they provide false positives and other issues. We are applying a suite of methods sourced from international universities responding to moderating material potentially sourced from Generative AI instead.
-
How do I report content containing Generative AI Material?
If you are concerned about post(s) featuring Generative AI material, please flag the post for our Site Moderation Team to conduct a thorough investigation. As a reminder, Pillowfort’s existing policy regarding callout posts applies here and harassment / brigading / etc will not be tolerated.
Any questions or clarifications regarding our Generative AI Policy can be sent to [email protected].

EFF’s lawsuit against DOGE will go forward

I'm on a 20+ city book tour for my new novel PICKS AND SHOVELS. Catch me in PITTSBURGH on May 15 at WHITE WHALE BOOKS, and in PDX on Jun 20 at BARNES AND NOBLE. More tour dates here.
In my 23 years at EFF, I've been privileged to get a front-row seat for some of the most important legal battles over tech and human rights in history. There've been tremendous victories and heartbreaking losses, but win or lose, I am forever reminded that I'm privileged to work with some of the smartest, most committed, savviest cyberlawyers in the world.
These days, it's more of a second-row seat – I work remotely, mostly on my own projects, and I rely on our Deeplinks blog as much as our internal message-boards to keep up with our cases. Yesterday, I happened on this fantastic explainer breaking down our most recent court victory, in our case against DOGE on behalf of federal workers whose privacy rights have been violated during DOGE's raid on the Office of Personnel Management's databases:
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2025/04/our-privacy-act-lawsuit-against-doge-and-opm-why-judge-let-it-move-forward
The post is by Adam Schwartz, EFF's Privacy Litigation Director. I've been campaigning on privacy for my entire adult life, but I still learn something – something big and important – every time I talk about the subject with Adam. His breakdown on EFF's latest court victory is no exception.
EFF was the first firm to bring a suit directly against DOGE, representing two federal workers' unions: the AFGE and the AALJ, and our co-counsel are from Lex Lumina LLP, State Democracy Defenders Fund, and The Chandra Law Firm. At the heart of our case are the millions of personnel records that DOGE agents were given access to by OPM Acting Director Charles Ezell.
The OPM is like the US government's HR department. It holds files on every federal employee and retiree, filled with sensitive, private data about that worker's finances, health, and personal life. The OPM also holds background check data on federal workers, including the deep background checks that federal workers must undergo to attain security clearances. Many of us – including me – first became familiar with the OPM in 2015, after its records were breached by hackers believed to be working for the Chinese military:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Office_of_Personnel_Management_data_breach
That breach was catastrophic. Chinese spies stole the sensitive data of tens of millions of Americans. The DOGE breach implicates even more Americans' private data, though, and while DOGE isn't a foreign intelligence agency, that cuts both ways. It's a good bet that a Chinese spy agency will not leak the records it stole, but with DOGE, it's another matter entirely. I wouldn't be surprised to find the OPM data sitting on a darknet server in a month or a year.
In his breakdown, Adam explains the ruling and what was at stake. We brought the case on behalf of all those federal workers under the 1974 Privacy Act, which was passed in the wake of Watergate and the revelations about COINTELPRO, scandals that rocked the nation's faith in federal institutions. The Privacy Act was supposed to restore trust in government, and to guard against future Nixonian enemies lists:
https://tile.loc.gov/storage-services/service/ll/llmlp/LH_privacy_act-1974/LH_privacy_act-1974.pdf
The Privacy Act's preamble asserts that the US government's creation of databases on Americans – including federal workers – "greatly magnified the harm to individual privacy." This is the basis for the Act's tight regulation on how government agencies use and handle databases containing dossiers on the lives of everyday Americans.
The US government tried to get the case tossed out by challenging our clients' "standing" to sue. Only people who have been harmed by someone else has the right ("standing") to sue over it. Does having your data leaked to DOGE constitute a real injury? Two recent Supreme Court cases say it does: Spokeo vs Robins and Transunion vs Ramirez both establish that "intangible" injuries (like a privacy breach) can be the basis for standing.
The court agreed that our clients had standing because the harms we alleged – DOGE's privacy breaches – are "concrete harms analogous to intrusion upon seclusion" ("intrusion upon seclusion" is one of the canonical privacy violations, set out in the Restatement of Torts, the American Law Institute's comprehensive guide to common law).
But the court went further, noting that DOGE's operation is accused of being "rushed and insecure," rejecting DOGE's argument that it only accessed OPM's "system" but not the data stored in that system. The court also said that it wouldn't matter if DOGE access the system, but not the data – that merely gaining access to the data violated our clients' privacy. Here, the judge is part of an emerging consensus, joining with four other federal judges who've ruled that when DOGE gains access to a system containing private data, that alone constitutes a privacy violation, even if DOGE doesn't look at or process the records in the system.
So in ruling for our clients, the judge found that the mere fact that DOGE could access their records was an injury that gave us standing to proceed – and also found that there were other injuries that would separately give us standing, including the possibility that DOGE's breach could expose our clients to "hacking, identity theft, and other activities that are substantially harmful."
The US government repeatedly argued that we weren't accusing them of disclosing our clients' records, every time they did this, the judge pointed to our actual filings, which plainly assert that DOGE agents were "viewing, possessing and using" our clients' records, and that this constitutes "disclosure" under the law, and according to OPM's own procedures.
The judge found that we were entitled to seek relief under the Administrative Procedures Act (APA), which proscribes the conduct of federal agencies – and that our relief could be both "declaratory" (meaning a court could rule that DOGE was breaking the law) and "injunctive" (meaning the court could order DOGE to knock it off).
Normally, a plaintiff can't ask for a judgment under the APA until an agency has taken a "final" action. The court found that because DOGE's actions were accused of being "illegal, rushed, and dangerous," and that this meant that we could seek relief under the APA. Further, that we could invoke the APA here because the remedies set out in the Privacy Act itself wouldn't be sufficient to help our clients in the face of DOGE's mass data-plundering.
Finally, the court ruled that our claims will allow us to pursue APA cases because OPM and DOGE were behaving in an "arbitrary and capricious" manner, and exceeding its legal authority.
All of this is still preliminary – we're not at the point yet where we're actually arguing the case. But standing is a huge deal. Ironically, it's when governments violate our rights on a mass scale that standing is hardest to prove. Our Jewel case, over NSA spying, foundered because the US government argued that we couldn't prove our clients had been swept up by NSA surveillance because the details of that surveillance were officially still secret, even though Snowden had disclosed their working a decade earlier, and our client Mark Klein (RIP) had come forward with documents on illegal mass NSA spying in 2006!:
https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2022/06/effs-flagship-jewel-v-nsa-dragnet-spying-case-rejected-supreme-court
So this is a big deal. It means we're going to get to go to court and argue the actual merits of the case. Things are pretty terrible right now, but this is a bright light. It makes me proud to have spent most of my adult life working with EFF. If you want to get involved with EFF, check and see if there's an Electronic Frontier Alliance affinity group in your town:
https://efa.eff.org/allies
If you'd like an essay-formatted version of this post to read or share, here's a link to it on pluralistic.net, my surveillance-free, ad-free, tracker-free blog:

the thing for me is,,, this is a very vulnerable fandom space. a very young fandom space for a start, and a very diverse one - a lot of people within this space come here as a recluse from jkr's bigotry, to still experience the joy they once found in her works without truly engaging with her. and yes, we could do better in that aspect, a hell of a lot better, but this space still acts as a recluse.
to use a facist machine (ai) within a fanfilm is despicable. to steal works from authors within this space (or any space) to produce a fanfilm script is despicable. to then post it anyway, and quote "acting portfolios" as a reason to do so? disgusting.
ai is ruining creative industries. i mean, fuck, we just watched ao3 get scraped in the THOUSANDSSSS for works to be fed to an ai database. there's an ai tag on ao3. there was a whole trend on tiktok for weeks of people putting fanart into chatgpt and asking for a caption for it. there's ai generated videos using cosplayers literal faces. fics put onto that fucking app that got deleted that turned anything into an audiobook. fics on goodreads and etsy and amazon. fanart sold by people on etsy, fanart posted without credits and-
i could go on and on.
there is so much blatant disrespect towards creations within this space, and AI is reaching into every corner of it and to post a fanfilm that used AI for a script and quote love and effort? the amount of love and effort into it?
truly, despicable. because who is harmed more by ai? when these industries go, when ai, which is fed through a very western-centric and fascist perspective controls everything? who's harmed the most?
because it won't be people like jkr. it will be the people seeking recluse from those like her.
you're either in fandom because you love creating and you love community, or you're in fandom to get something out of it. and to post something that stole from fic writers for your own acting portfolios and publicity? yeah. it's obvious what side you're on.
fuck generative ai in fandom spaces and fuck anyone willing to prey on this community for their own progression - this is a community for those that need it the most, not another step on a ladder for you to climb.
#i could go on and on#about every bad thing mischief productions and certain members within it have done#but most of all i am enraged at the normalisation of ai#i could go on#so so much#so im ending the tags here before i rant about it all#just#AHHHH

Welcome to the MCYT Longfic Database Project
Hello!! My name is Jim ( @rocketships07 , he/him), and I'm just a guy with a passion for data analysis and cubitos. I have been compiling, for a few months now, a small google sheets file of my favorite mcyt longfics, because I enjoy being able to see some stats and have everything in a place I can access. However! It ocurred to me that it would be very fun to develop a much larger database so that I could share it with friends!
So, the MCYT Longfic Database Project was born.
IMPORTANT LINKS:
MCYT Longfic Database SUBMISSIONS Form
Publishing site voting (closed)
FAQ
MCYT Longfic Database
Here's how it's going to work.
1. Interest Check (due: jan. 27)
I'm going to first compile information on what fandoms most people want me to compile fics of. This can be any MCYT fandom! As long as someone requests it, it'll have a place in the database. To do so, please send me asks through my tumblr page with your fandom(s)!!
CURRENT FANDOMS ADDED:
Hermitcraft
Traffic Life Series
Empires SMP
Dream SMP
QSMP
Scott's Life series (X life/Afterlife/New life)
POW Creations (Pirates SMP, Rats SMP 1&2)
The Realm
Fable SMP
Life Steal
Outsiders
Yogscast
2. Fanfic submission form is released (jan. 27 - feb. 28)
I will be releasing a form, where you can submit your favorite longfics! This form will include plenty of different sections for you to fill, such as title, fandom, word count, main character(s), ship (or ships), main tropes or au, amongst other categories with the purpose of data analysis! Mainly because the database will also have an analysis tab, where you can see some fun stats about the database!
During this period, the database will not be public. This is due to the fact that Google Forms does not format the information correctly, and I will be creating a much easier to read file for everyone to see!
After the end of this period, the forms will continue to be open! I will not be updating it constantly after that, but I'll try my best to keep it updated!
3. Database publishing (march 1)
After March 1st, the database will go live!!! I will continue to update it and add fics as long as people keep submitting them.
Feel free to share it with your friends and use it to find new fun fics to enjoy!

Hello everyone, and Happy New Year! To kick off the year, I’m excited to share my first collection of stunning landscape oil paintings, inspired by the highly sought-after styles of the 19th century. During that time, landscape painting flourished, becoming the dominant genre and a celebrated pinnacle in art history—a legacy that continues to captivate us today.

Fandom permission statements
Hello, I am here with yet another pitch for writers to add a permission statement to their AO3 bio! Posts about permission statements tend to circulate among the podfic community, which is really preaching to the choir, so I would really love it if some writer-types also reblog this. ❤️
(While permission statements can and do address multiple types of transformative work, this post very podfic-centric.)
What is a permission statement?
A permission statement tells people who create works based on fanfics (e.g. podfic, art, remixes) whether or not you're okay with people making stuff based on your writing and in what circumstances.
Even if you're not up for giving everyone permission for everything, having a statement we can read is SO appreciated!
What is blanket permission?
Blanket permission is a term podficcers use for permissions that let us create and post podfic without having to contact the author. We love this!
What other kinds of permission statements are there and why would I still want to use one?
If you don't want to give blanket permission, having a permission statement telling folks what you are and aren't okay with helps a lot!
If an author doesn't want to give blanket permission, a statement encouraging podfic but asking a podficcer to ask first still tells us you're interested and that we can expect to receive a friendly (even if not always a 'yes') response.
If you don't want podfic made of your work at all, then telling us this saves us time and saves you from getting repeated messages from different podficcers!
Do you have an example?
Sure do! Here's the statement I currently have in my AO3 profile:
I grant blanket permission for podfics, art and translations, and any other transformative work as long as it involves absolutely no monetary profit or monetary exchange of any kind, or contribution to or use of generative AI. Please link back to the original so I can be thrilled you did it!
Why consider blanket permission?
If you do want podfic made of your work, blanket permission makes it a whole lot more likely a podficcer will choose your work! Because:
Especially for events with quick turnaround times and that include recommendations made to other podficcers for projects, it's often the only way we can get permission in time
It means we can start working on a project as soon as we decide to, rather than having to wait to hear back
Some people are less comfortable reaching out to ask and so will be less willing to podfic works without blanket permission
It can also feel awkward to ask for permission and then not do the podfic for a while (or ever), which can be a mental barrier to reaching out
Blanket permission is so helpful that we even have a whole database of people who have blanket permission so we can find them more easily and an extension that highlights their names in green for 'full speed ahead!'
Podfic makes a writer's work more accessible to audiences that aren't always able to engage with written text, and I personally love it when someone cares about my writing to put in the effort to podfic it. So I want to encourage its creation as much as I can!
No matter what kind of permission you end up being comfortable with, I hope you will consider adding a statement to your AO3 profile, and thanks for reading this pitch!
