BONUS: While I won’t be covering this series extensively anymore, I thought I’d show you how Ame-Comi Power Girl spends her days.
Like Supergirl says: Nice.
Usually alternate universe versions of characters are more extreme or outright evil versions compared to their mainline counterparts. Ame-Comi Power Girl is the second one after Earth-2 Power Girl (and the Pre-New 52 Power Girl who is weirdly enough separate) who are more aspirational than both Ame-Comi Supergirl and the New 52 whatever they call that verse now.
While I prefer the more brash and cocky Power Girl of the classic Earth-2, I wouldn’t mind reading more about Ame-Comi Power Girl. Not in this series though. I’ve had my fill for now. If DC wants to return to this universe I hope they publish it in a different format with better writing.

Ame-Comi
Based on the anime-inspired figures from DC Collectibles, this series is a unique take on the women of the DCU. It's a world where only females have super powers--heroes and villains alike.

Why is there so much harem anime and Manga, and it hasn't leeched into comics? Like I'm glad, but with the amount of trying to making Japanese like comics (think dc ame-comi girls or marvel mangaverse), how has that not leeched in? (Ps, I sent this to aliteralchicken as an ask as well)
I’m assuming it’s due to the difference of cultures perhaps? At least as far as I’m aware, harems are frowned upon in the western world.
Also, it doesn’t suit the writing style. Western comics are usually by a company producing multiple stories in the same universe. Harems and consistent romances are hard to maintain in that environment.

Ame-Comi Girls #11 acts as a final bookend to the Brainiac invasion. And typical to this series, it’s really lackluster.
First, I gotta give this issue props for having some lasting consequences for Supergirl going evil. She was brainwashed by Brainiac using black kryptonite. In this issue we find out there are still some microscopic Brainiac drones in Supergirl’s brain. Good thing Atom’s around to cure her.
But first we need an obligatory action scene. It’s fine though, curing Supergirl shouldn’t be too easy. Power Girl finds it out the hard way. This is the second issue in a row where she seemingly comes close to death’s door, this time about to get choked out by a infected Supergirl.
While I’m a big Power Girl fan and think she’s the aspirational hero of this series, ranking much higher than Supergirl and even freaking Wonder Woman, it’s good that she’s not depicted as being overpowered. Power Girl can’t handle everything alone which she usually learns and relearns the hard way in the main DCU.
The important thing is that even when the going gets tough, she rarely if ever succumbs to it. She won’t compromise just to make things easier for herself.
So the Atom saves Supergirl to little fanfare. Despite Power Girl being in danger, the solution is once again rather lackluster. It’s like this whole series is just going through the emotions. It would have worked much better as a mini-series or a graphic novel, not as a weekly series.
The series continues on from here, but I won’t be covering it despite Power Girl’s well-deserved presence. I don’t mind the semi-manga style. The characters and even storylines are fine on paper, but the execution is lacking big time. No doubt due to the weekly deadline grind and the lack of care put in.
Overall the series feels like an afterthought to the toyline.
