Welcome back, Death Battle! I'm sure you're all as excited as I am to see Rooster Teeth's #1 speculative series make its comeback! What better way to kick off with our OWN speculative idea! Without further ado, let's talk about what happens when two dragons (trope-wise) of dystopian futures square off in a DEATH BATTLE!

Frank Horrigan is the final boss and the right hand to the main villain of the original Fallout series. When you face off against him, he is by and far the most powerful opponent you could ever face in the first Fallout, which is pretty fitting. Regardless of whether you outwit the villain or straight up kill him with brute force, Frank Horrigan stands as the final challenge in the game. His stats are maxed out, he hits like a fleet convoy of trucks, and he's even got some turrets standing by to shred you in gunfire. And, if by some miracle you beat him, he'll set off a detonator to send you straight to hell with him! But can this menace of the wasteland stand up to the terror of Night City? Whether or not you played as a hero or as a menace yourself, this is the end of the line.

Adam Smasher is the final boss and the head of security for the Arasaka Corporation, the primary antagonist of Cyberpunk. Nicknamed the NC Boogeyman, Adam Smasher is a cyborg with only his brain as the remainder of his humanity. He's appeared as a terrifying menace both in game and in the Edgerunner series, capable of outspeeding and outgunning experimental military equipment that was intended to upgrade himself! The mere utterance of his name sends chills down the spines of anyone with a functioning brain in Night City, because whether you're on his side or not, to him, you're just meat.

Who do I think wins this fight? To be honest, it's kind of hard to say. They're both final bosses and terrors of their respective franchises for a reason! I kind of want to give the edge to Adam Smasher for his ability to keep up and overpower David's Sandevistan and his Cyberskeleton, but Frank Horrigan is also a walking tank himself with stats to match, including 999HP and armor that negates critical hits!

But what do you guys think?

in ur dragon fight drawing, one of the dragon has a hole torn in its wing, would that be a debilitating injury in this world? how are riders and dragons with disabilities treated?

i have to say the wing heals up easily enough (otherwise their dragon attrition rate would be terrible... that's one way they can't be like planes lol). i think a hit through the wing would be an 'i yield' moment in battle where the victim bows out of the fight. a skirmish is p.much guaranteed to result in injuries and potentially deaths, and some airbases might have a policy of not taking 'i yield' as sign to stop attacking. it's rare though, there's a kind of honour system in place in a skirmish because you might have to count on those other people as allies at some point, and the goal is to secure control in the airspace, not kill or rout the enemy.

each airbase is essentially its own little militia (i think of it like a huge warship with hundreds onboard) with its own culture. if you can recover from your wounds, great, you go back into the line of duty. if you're unable to do that then you retire. dragons are treated better than humans in general but that often extends a shield over the riders who are considered the public faces of their dragons. if the dragon is grounded they can still teach and still do radio work, and that means the human sticks around to facilitate this. if the human is injured and can no longer fly skirmishes then treatment depends on their rank & the rank of their dragon. at the lowest ranks, you might not get much by way of assistance or quality of life. in the airbase you can specialise into tasks which can be done as desk jobs - drawing charts, weather-fronts, managing the provisions, stuff like that. but it's entirely up to the dragon whether or not another rider replaces you in the saddle.

if you truly cannot work again it's also up to your dragon to advocate on your behalf. not every airbase culture facilitates this. as with many things in life, your continued survival may rely on being on good terms with the higher ups, winning a matriarch's favour, or being generally liked.

tangential but the overall culture i'm imagining is (barring the radio technology and somewhat early-1900s aesthetic) relatively feudal, a hundred small holders and lords with no central ruling structure. rank is usually determined by bloodline (imagine open candidacy to ride for small dragon classes, closed for the more "important" ones, etc. that way we can get some Controversy and Drama... court intrigue even...). so relating back to the ask, if you happen to be born important, you needn't ever worry about your future at the airbase, even if you are disabled in the line of duty.

Cale writes a will a few days before the final battle (just in case he dies) and someone finds it

Whether he actually dies after or not is up to you sksjhs-

(actually now I'm wondering if Cale could have stabbed himself beforehand- did the blood need to be wet-? Does the vitality wear off after a certain amount of time? Could he have theoretically taken the root into a random empty room, asking everyone to leave him alone for a few hours to make sure he has enough time to heal? What if he falls asleep and someone just finds him there Would it eventually get out after the final battle because Cale doesn't think it's important anymore? what if GoD is worried and ends up telling cage? What if he's really vague and forces Cale to tell them himself? What about family and especially Ron /Choi han drowning in self hatred for not questioning why the sword used to defeat the radish was covered in blood- what if they hate themselves even more when Cale comforts them saying it wasn't their fault? What if- )

BACK TO WHAT THIS POST WAS ORIGINALLY ABOUT-

Cale writing a will

The world tree said he wouldn't die but just in case, he writes a will anyways.

Everyone notices him lost in his thoughts more often, nervous and contemplating. They brush it off and assume it's nerves.

What if Cale slips it in Alberu's office just before everything goes down? In a place he thinks Alberu doesn't check often a day or two before Cale-bab?

Maybe Raon notices when he teleports Cale into the office (when the crown prince isn't there) and assumes it's something important that Cale wants to show Alberu but can't because he's busy?

So like a good son, he leaves a note (it's readable but not perfect-) telling cookie prince about the super important paper that human left in his bottom drawer-

Later, Alberu walks in with Choi han, sees the cute note that's obviously from Raon, checks his drawer, notices the letter sealed with black wax, and opens it.

And Choi han witnesses his face slowly morph into one of anxiety and pure horror.

When they confront cale there are a lot of angry tears and they do it in the middle of everyone having dinner because there are more important matters at hand because of ONE suicidal bastard-

OR

Someone finds it (probably Hans or Ron idk- OR MAYBE THE KIDS-) when he's not quite done writing it and confront him

Actually what about a tea break and Ron is helping clear out Cale's desk and finds the will while Cale is drinking tea literally ten feet In front of him-

Paris was the City of Lights, Romance, Art, Fashion Capital, home of The Lady of Iron, and so on and so forth.

Well that's all it was before, now though it was a city of magic! It's cool, Lord/Lady Paris (Lady Gotham style cause yes) finds this amazing, they’re a magic city. They were a capitol of many things, and they were proud of that, but magic?? Oh-ho that's just better!

Yes they're kinda pissed at Gabriel but if it weren't for him they wouldn't be an official magic city. (Paris is glaring at Gabriel everytime he neglects Adrien tho, you can be the villain but he a good father!!)

Paris loves their heroes, Marinette their sweet Marinette is growing up so well, she represents every about them. And Adrien, their poor concealed child could express himself more and learn better than he ever could in that snobby house (*pointed side-eye at Gabriel*)

There was only one issue, their people were dying, now this was just a headache! At least the magic brings them back, but now there's a waft of death out and about and not just in the catacombs. And not only that their people held death in them, like it wasn't bad necessarily. But now it was getting out of hand and their heroes really need some support.

Hmm, they heard rumors of a new ghost on the throne, a halfa at that, a warrior even, and he was kind. Perhaps they should seek him out to assist his heroes.
