Could I get a Daughters or Dolls with the Briarwoods?
(this entire au concept Fascinates me)
I hope you're ready for something Fucked Up! :D
Sylas dabs at his mouth with a white kerchief. The initials are blotted out by blood. There’s maybe the rib of a J, the broken limbs of an M. The chest of an R?
He tosses it, ruined, to the side and begins to busy himself with Delilah’s corset.
“Mmm,” she sighs. Sylas feels the artery gurgle against the scab forming on her wrist, her wrist on his neck, her arms looped around his neck, less arms and more a neat noose of pulsing blood. Capillaries, veins, pooling and drawing back.
He chuckles against her throat. “You’re always in a mood, after,” Sylas murmurs.
“What can I say? It does me good to see you alive, love.” She says love like she says decomposition like she says Sylas like she doesn’t say Vecna.
“There might be something to it - to me,” continues Delilah, brown eyes stealing something violet from the evening sky. One of her many magic tricks. “The fact it was my pact with Vecna that brought you to this life? Or - hm. I do like the hypothesis that it’s the long-term necromantic magics-”
Sylas dutifully hums and purrs as his wife dabbles in her speculation. Offers himself, as usual, as her test subject. Pry him open, cut him apart, take his rib and make him again. He wouldn’t mind. She would, is the trouble, and so she takes out her frustration on something. Things that would not be missed, before. Now anything that takes her fancy. Almost.
She’s moved on from the necromancy-vampirism interactions to something like livestock breeding. “There should be a good source of magic to the girl, is the thing. These families have hardly had any outcrossing, bred back to eachother for generations at such a pulsepoint of the leylines. And that tree, too, and the ziggurat.”
He’s moved on from her corset (gone) to her dress (not yet, only because she would be cross if he tore it. He wants to.). “And yet not a lick of magic in the main line, or the offshoots! No, it’s this baseborn little thing that is tapped in.”
Tapped, tapped. Tap, tap, her fingers on his chest. “So much potential, the both of them. I could make them both. Make them, Sylas. Build them into something grand.” Delilah’s face twists into a sneer, twists into his neck. The damn buttons are giving him trouble. Fucking claws. “Little rats don’t appreciate any of my work.”
“Darling,” soothes Sylas, “you killed the pup’s family.”
She frowns at him, indignant. “Not the other one’s - not dear Matilda’s. She I have saved from slaving in the fields, wasting resources, wasting potential, wasting. Besides - it’s a favor, being rid of the heirs. Cassandra would have been wed to some middling lord, some cousin, and bred like a show mare. She will do better with me. With us.”
“They will,” he agrees. Perhaps it does not make much sense to him, how the girls might appreciate them. But he has been wrong about many things before - the Assembly, the Empire, death. Delilah has always been right.
Almost.
Later, after. Sylas makes himself into mist to drift from her grasp. He cannot bear to part with her while made of flesh. The form reduces his hunger, too, from a spitting suffocation to a dry heave to every movement. Less wet.
She does not suffice. If she were to, he would kill her, and he can’t.
And so he finds himself a nice young man, counts his ribs beneath his thumb, and fancies him that half-elf he got but a taste of before sinking his teeth into that dusky throat and tearing a cup of flesh from which to drink deep.
All the blood tastes the same as hers, and for that sin it is disgusting.
(He sees the cupbearer the next day. Head lolling, held by few tendons, rot already taking to him greedily. Walking.)

Head canon time? Now??
- So a big one I’ve had for over a year now is Cygnus being an amputee and being blind in one eye, I saw other people hc recently and I’m very happy to see people on board
- The Space Time Hotel was made by The Traveler’s emotions, this was another one for a while, but I recently started to think that the hotel also being kind of sentient. Like it has emotions and can communicate to only the traveler because it’s also connected to his life and his powers rub off on it
- The Traveler is actually a humanoid star. He has a form where he looks more like a star but prefers his classic Traveler look.
- My biggest hc and the one I’ve had the longest is the Traveler’s Association, surprisingly, The Traveler is not in command despite being who everyone there worships, the association might need its own thing because it’s a bit complex, but the man in charge is actually an OC who only has a design in a jd rp server(the lore there is different from my own because the server combines everyone’s lore)
- The Traveler physically cannot stop Night Swan himself, I have this one because I believe that The Traveler is an amazing man and caring father(Nep lore leading to me being his son is wild), he can’t stop her because when he realized his mistake and went to send her back to earth, he was punished for bringing her in the danceverses in the first place and he was made unable to defeat Night Swan himself(so was Si’ha)
- Kwang and Mothigan are actually half siblings…Just listen to me on this one- So Mothigan is the daughter of countess butterfly and the head traveler(my oc) and Kwang is the son of countess butterfly and Wild West ext, he’s the younger one and does not know anything about his family so he refuses to believe he’s related to any of them(except his dad who’s dead)
- Uptown Funk is a shapeshifter and I named him Simon, he’s also kind of a hitman🧍🏻
- Alex and Lukas are ferret parents, this is a canon thing in the rp server, they have three ferrets, one’s blood thirsty and would like to kill Gabriela
- So I know some people hc Smalltown Boy and Scotty to be the same, but I like to believe that Scotty Smalltown Boy(Tristan which is Angel’s hc name) and Lumen are all brothers, Tristan ran away and Scotty and Lumen were placed in an orphanage and Scotty started going to Eternyx where he then was taken in by Vester
- Mothigan is more moth like without the use of magic, she had moth eyes, actually antennas and four arms, but to fit in she changed her appearance with magic
- The Traveler has some false memories/he has missing memories, the head traveler liked experimenting with memory alteration and mind control, so he would test it out on the traveler which would often cause major confusion anxiety in the traveler and occasionally caused him to lash out because he could feel something was wrong but he could never pin point the issue
- The Nova kitty is a Cheshire Cat like fella, he can do everything the Cheshire can do but he prefers normal cat life because it’s easier to just do nothing
- Kapyy and Hoku are brother and sister who didn’t grow up together(Kapyy lived in Cyberfunk, Hoku lived in WinterHaven, Bo Blu was made to keep her out of trouble but she uncoded and recoded him to help her and be more of a comfort)
- Kapyy REALLY idolizes Cygnus and wants to be an inventor, he knows the whole Cygnus working with Night Swan thing should make him idolize him less, but after their separation, Kapyy started idolizing him more and he would like to one day be Cygnus’ apprentice
- These aren’t hcs but ships I created and love are Diego/Liege Rosal, Aria(Dance All Nite)/Sailor and Stormi(Umbrella)/Seymour(Hey, Ya!)
I have some just dance ocs too who I kind of wanna share a bit about too while we’re here
- I have ocs based on songs from Eurovision, the songs are Europapa, Doomsday Blue, The Code and Rim Tim Tagi Dim, the characters names are Elioson Phyles(he/him), Delilah Blue(they/them), Theo Collins(they/them) and River Dimmit(he/him)
- I have many ocs who’s songs are måneskin songs, my oldest one being Marlena Holloway who is Cygnus’ mother and a former ballerina who quit after experiencing some bad leg issues and losing a competition
- Dami is another jd måneskin oc, his song is L’altra Dimensione, he’s a human who wanted more and turned to the danceverses, I haven’t decided if he has beef with Cygnus yet
- Delilah and River are actually a couple who fall in love after getting separated from Elio and Theo
- My second oldest jd oc is Odette I think, she’s Cygnus’s older sister who’s cause of death is an earthquake in Floworld(she was an exchange student there and opened a bakery after she finished school, Cygnus moved in with her months prior to the earthquake)
- Since I introduced Cygnus’s mom and sister, his dad is named Mathias, he’s just been dead for a long time
- I have other måneskin jd ocs but they don’t have names and I forgot their songs, I think one was for Sh*t Blvd
(I’m a HUGE måneskin fan, feel free to feed my JD fixation or my Må fixation)

The Amulet of Samarkand by Jonathan Stroud
Nathaniel is a boy magician-in-training, sold to the government by his birth parents at the age of five and sent to live as an apprentice to a master. Powerful magicians rule Britain, and its empire, and Nathaniel is told his is the “ultimate sacrifice” for a “noble destiny.”
If leaving his parents and erasing his past life isn’t tough enough, Nathaniel’s master, Arthur Underwood, is a cold, condescending, and cruel middle-ranking magician in the Ministry of Internal Affairs. The boy’s only saving grace is the master’s wife, Martha Underwood, who shows him genuine affection that he rewards with fierce devotion. Nathaniel gets along tolerably well over the years in the Underwood household until the summer before his eleventh birthday. Everything changes when he is publicly humiliated by the ruthless magician Simon Lovelace and betrayed by his cowardly master who does not defend him.
Nathaniel vows revenge. In a Faustian fever, he devours magical texts and hones his magic skills, all the while trying to appear subservient to his master. When he musters the strength to summon the 5,000-year-old djinni Bartimaeus to avenge Lovelace by stealing the powerful Amulet of Samarkand, the boy magician plunges into a situation more dangerous and deadly than anything he could ever imagine.
A Darker Shade of Magic by V. E. Schwab
Kell is one of the last Antari—magicians with a rare, coveted ability to travel between parallel Londons; Red, Grey, White, and, once upon a time, Black.
Kell was raised in Arnes—Red London—and officially serves the Maresh Empire as an ambassador, traveling between the frequent bloody regime changes in White London and the court of George III in the dullest of Londons, the one without any magic left to see.
Unofficially, Kell is a smuggler, servicing people willing to pay for even the smallest glimpses of a world they’ll never see. It’s a defiant hobby with dangerous consequences, which Kell is now seeing firsthand.
After an exchange goes awry, Kell escapes to Grey London and runs into Delilah Bard, a cut-purse with lofty aspirations. She first robs him, then saves him from a deadly enemy, and finally forces Kell to spirit her to another world for a proper adventure.
Now perilous magic is afoot, and treachery lurks at every turn. To save all of the worlds, they’ll first need to stay alive.
The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman
In a peaceful retirement village, four unlikely friends meet up once a week to investigate unsolved murders.
But when a brutal killing takes place on their very doorstep, the Thursday Murder Club finds themselves in the middle of their first live case. Elizabeth, Joyce, Ibrahim, and Ron might be pushing eighty but they still have a few tricks up their sleeves.
Can our unorthodox but brilliant gang catch the killer before it’s too late?
Just Like Home by Sarah Gailey
“Come home.” Vera’s mother called and Vera obeyed. In spite of their long estrangement, in spite of the memories – she’s come back to the home of a serial killer. Back to face the love she had for her father and the bodies he buried there.
Coming home is hard enough for Vera, and to make things worse, she and her mother aren’t alone. A parasitic artist has moved into the guest house out back, and is slowly stripping Vera’s childhood for spare parts. He insists that he isn’t the one leaving notes around the house in her father’s handwriting… but who else could it possibly be?
There are secrets yet undiscovered in the foundations of the notorious Crowder House. Vera must face them, and find out for herself just how deep the rot goes.

LarkClan Bios #5- Spirecloud
Tumblr media
Current Name: Spirecloud Past Name(s): Ellie Gender: She-Cat Pronouns: She/Her Age: 55 Moons (About 4.5 Years) Rank: Warrior Mentor(s): Flamejump (Deceased) Apprentice(s): N/A Mother(s): Delilah (Kittypet) Father(s): Cody (Kittypet) Sibling(s): Quincy, Mittens, Rosie, Sandwich (All Kittypets) Crush: N/A Mate: Lilytuft Offspring: Ruepaw, Rosekit (Deceased)
Description: Spirecloud started off her life as a kittypet, a purebred cat. Born into a comfy twoleg home from a breeding program, all was well in Spirecloud's life until she was adopted by new housefolk at a young age. Her new housefolk would constantly take pictures of her and post her into the internet, soon turning her into an internet sensation. This proved to be a terrible thing when Spirecloud's housefolk would force her into situations she didn't want to be in and even become cruel off-camera. She couldn't live like this anymore, and soon ended up escaping. She found that she surprisingly enjoyed hunting, and caught herself her first piece of prey, the biggest and juiciest squirrel...Too bad she was on LarkClan territory, and a patrol saw her doing it! She was brought back to their camp, and after she pleaded for her life and mentioned her hunting skills, she was reluctantly welcomed into the clan as an apprentice and renamed Spirepaw. She found herself getting close with Lilypaw/Lilytuft all throughout her apprenticeship, and was overjoyed when he asked to be mates. She soon gave birth to a litter of two, Ruekit and Rosekit, but unfortunately Rosekit failed to thrive and passed away. Despite this, Spirecloud is grateful for the life she currently has, and wouldn't trade it for anything.

4 and 7 for the writing prompts?
4. Do you have any OCs? Do you have a story for them?
Yes! I have truly so many OCs! I am trying very hard to write a book & have been for a while now. It’s a fantasy novel featuring three main characters—Andy (they/them) a wizards apprentice; Zoyah (she/her) a princess inventor; & Filmont (he/him) a sweet young man (that’s half a joke, his real description is cursed sailor) (the curse is a bad dad & dyslexia. & also another more real curse. curses georg). I have had to reduce the plot for the first book because plotting is my nemesis & I need to make it easier on myself so at the moment it is about these three lives coming together at a magical university to solve the mystery of murder and mayhem in the university. Plus some other things like bad dads, weird magic, & stolen inventions.
I have a lot of random stuff in the tags for my og story which is literally #og story. I’ll add it to the tags ☀️
7. Your favourite ao3 tag.
im so so bad at tagging things. uhhh. ?????? ok this isn’t a good answer for this but recently i added a tag to one of my cr fics that is #delilah is an oven
thanks for asking!!!!!! ☀️

Great Minds of the Isles - A Dishonored Illustration Series
Fig. 2: Anton Sokolov, Royal Physician
Following Esmond Roseburrow's footsteps, Sokolov is responsible for a fast advancement relying mostly on the weaponization of whale oil technology. Whereas the former was a man of principles, the latter isn't plagued by such a conscience, and as such, has no qualms about making destruction part of his research. The same could be applied to his experiments during the Rat Plague: many unwilling test subjects found their death at his hands.
This is part of the reason why I chose to depict him painting. This more peaceful side of his work (debatable, considering his relationship with his apprentice Delilah) can easily conceal the more darker depths of his personality and work. But we can still glimpse the very morally grey scientist by looking at the background; here lie tangible testaments to his overbearing curiosity.
See Fig. 1: Esmond Roseburrow, Father of the Industrial Age
See Fig. 3: Alexandria Hypatia, The Good Doctor
Read The Age of Enlightenment, a series of writings covering science through the Empire of the Isles

How about #30 for Ashton and/or Laudna and/or Orym? In whatever combination works best for you?
30 "Everything is going to be okay, I swear." Well, you gave me a Team Issylra character list, so let's get elemental weird. Prompt
Orym is fucking tired and sick of having to do disproportionately difficult tasks in exchange for a spell that's really only going to cost the caster a bit of time when he and his friends are perfectly content to wait for a day when the magic can be spared. Because the casters sure as fuck don't need to risk their life to perform the spells his group has asked for.
"Everything is going to be okay, I swear. You've just got to hold on," Orym says, hovering near Ashton's kneeled and bowing form, creating a subtle bulwark between them and where Laudna and Prism are trying to decipher the ritual that will hopefully help.
"I'm trying," Ashton grits out, fingers digging through solid stone like it's clay, the lights in their head flashing brightly. "But she's- an angry, noisy- bitch!"
The cavern quakes with the last shouted word. Orym dares to glance over his shoulder, past Deni$e and Bor'dor, to meet Laudna's own desperate eyes.
They have to make this work, make everything okay. Cliché as it sounds, Ashton is a grounding force in Bells Hells. To bring the group back together without him... It's not happening. They will fix this, get that fucking elemental spirit out of their friend.
Hopefully sooner rather than later.
By no means is Orym an expert in magic, but he knows a bit about elementals. He is an Ashari, after all. And while the Rift to the Elemental Plane of Air is mostly maintained by the druids of Zephrah, as a Tempest Blade, he's seen more than a few air elementals up close while watching the Voice of the Tempest's back. See, there's a feeling to elementals. It's not very clear to Orym and he has to be standing right next to one to really feel it, but it's there. Genasi, he's found, also have that feeling to a lesser extent, such that he only really notices when pressed skin-to-skin against one.
Right now, Ashton has the presence of a full elemental, and a very powerful one at that. And Orym wouldn't like to fight Ashton on a normal day, much less when they're fighting possession by an ancient elemental spirit.
He wonders if the casters of the group can feel Ashton's amplified presence, or if it's only him with his experiences as an Ashari. He thinks they do, if the urgency and nerves with which they act are any indicator.
____________________________________________________________
"Are you sure this is correct?" Laudna can't help but ask. They are gambling with Ashton's life, so now really isn't the time to fuck up.
"I mean, as I can be," Prism reassures with a grimace. "Apprentice, remember? I've done the most magic in my life this past week."
Unfortunately, that is true. While simultaneously being true that Prism knows the most about how magic works.
Laudna parses what they've put together once more, finding no obvious errors. wishing Delilah was there to consult It's what they've got. Hopefully it will do. No, it has to do. They can't-
She kneels down in front of Ashton. Their muscles are taut and straining from their fight against that invading bitch. (A part of her is aware, aware, aware that the strength kept at bay there could physically rip apart any of their group here, even without the pulsing earth magic bolstering them)
"Everything's going to be alright, I promise," Laudna says, a bit of desperation leaking into her tone as she cups their cheeks to raise their gaze to hers. Their head is heavy, and they're certainly not helping by trying to lean into her touch.
"Y'all- keep- saying that," he spits out between gritted teeth, a tired smile just curving his lips.
"Because we mean it," Orym and Laudna simultaneously reply, sharp and sure in this.
Ashton chuckles weakly. "Gotta be- careful- with promis-"
Their words are cut short with choking, eyes gone wide and fearful as the cavern quakes even harder than before.
The time for reassurances is over. There is only room for action.
_____________________________________________________________
"That" huff "fucking" huff "sucked ass." huff huff huff
"Agreed." "Ditto." "Never again." "Please." "...I thought it was kind of fun, actually."
Still, Orym and Laudna can't help but share a smile, watching Ashton bitch and complain from the crater he's starfished in. They made a promise to Ashton it would be alright, and they'd kept it. That was a victory worth having.
I'm just saying: entombed spirit in the Valley of Elemental Spirits/Remnants, sounds like a powerful elemental spirit who might want a new host upon release. And in comes Ashton: partially elemental with their untapped, full-of-potential galaxy brain. Probably not, exactly, what's going to happen next week in episode 63, but I would not be surprised at all if they had to fight something that was unleashed by Ludinus's bullshit to pay for their Transportation via Plants.

“As a young girl, Delilah was a baker’s apprentice at Dunwall Tower. Years later, a painter in Sokolov’s circle. Barrister Arnold Timsh paid her to paint portraits. Him I knew. A nobleman born rich. And now he was making a second fortune, seizing the assets of plague victims for the Lord Regent. But Barrister Timsh was also fighting a private war with his own niece. Something to do with the family fortune. Lurk was probably right. We needed to speak with the niece first. Her feud with the old barrister was something we could use. I got a message to the barrister’s niece and she claimed to know things about Delilah that no one else did. But the knowledge would have a price. I wasn’t surprised. I went to meet her.”

Weird & Wonderful Wednesday
Tumblr media
Another awesome Claudia Gray Star Wars novel. Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are master and apprentice (hence the title, heh…). The problem is that they may both be Jedi, but, they are different kids. Qui-Gon sometimes believing in ancient prophecies of the Jedi, while Obi-Wan is much more practical and living in the today. And, so, when they go on what may be their final mission together, there is tension. Can they work together, or have they failed each other.
I’m always a sucker for media tie in novels, and Gray is one of the absolute best when it comes to books like these. We get to go into who these characters that we’ve known for decades are, and, see new and different situations than are in any of the Star Wars visual media. A super fun read.
You may like this book If you Liked: The Paradise Snare by A.C. Crispin, Resistance Reborn by Rebecca Roanhorse, or Rise of the Red Blade by Delilah S. Dawson

My name is Edith, I'm 23, and I've recently been super invested in Furry HRT posts, especially work by creators like ayvieart, welldrawnfish, and tigergirltail (among truly countless others) - so much so that I've started working on my own characters for the setting! This post is a little primer on those characters and what I'm going for with each, as well as a place to find all of the stories I'm writing with them.
The stories with these characters are:
Gwen's Bunny HRT Chapter 1 Part 1, starring Gwen and Rae
Gwen's Bunny HRT Chapter 1 Part 2, starring the whole cast
Rae's Flat Tire Part 1, staring Rae and Delilah
Edith Tries To Get Her Hormones Part 1, starring Edith and Ashley
Edith Goes Cycling, an Edith solo story
Edith Goes To The Mall, starring Edith and @flightlessbirdgirl's character!
Gwen, 19: Only started Bunny HRT a few weeks ago! She's very excited. She's currently in college studying Linguistics without really knowing what she'll do after. She's socially anxious but outgoing, and is very prone to crushes. She's also the main character of my ongoing Bunny HRT series. She also got a welcome message from Edith that further explains the setting!
Rae, 22: Has been on Bunny HRT for just over a year, and is one of the founding members of The Bunny Burrow. She is by far the most outgoing of the group, arranging most of their hangs and putting together neat itineraries for sleepovers. She loves all things nature with a special fondness for plants (her home is full of them), and she's currently an intern at a local nature preserve. She has no idea how Delilah feels about her, and is obstinate and dim enough to not notice. Rae has curly brown hair and fur like a cottontail rabbit, and is on the shorter side.
Edith, 23: The one most of the posts thus far have been about, and my self insert. She was the newest to animal HRT before Gwen showed up, and is about five months along. She's a grad student at the same school as Gwen, and studies Creative Writing. She struggles a lot with feeling "in progress", but does her best to love it. She also tends to tease the other girls, but it's out of love. Edith has white fur on some of her body and longish, slightly floppy ears tipped with black (think Marcille Donato). She tends toward the classic big pants + small shirt combo, and is quite proud of the legs that Bunny HRT has given her / is still giving her.
Delilah, 21: Started her transition around a month before Edith, a fact she constantly holds over her head. She's a stoner and an apprentice piercer who is also madly, embarrassingly in love with Rae. She moved to the city in the hopes of finding more people like her, and feels lucky every day that she did - even if she sometimes forgets how much she's cared about. Delilah has long, thick black fur on most of her body and face and somewhat long, upright ears. She's also the tallest in the Burrow.
Ashley, 25: Has been on Bunny HRT for about 2 years. She's the oldest of the group, and is the other founding member of The Bunny Burrow. She's aloof and just a little scary in spite of her adorable blonde fur. She cares *incredibly* deeply, but is wary of making that fact clear to the other girls. In the day she works as a waitress at a restaurant in town. She prefers not to talk about what she does at night. Ashley has a full coat of short blonde fur and pink hair on her head. She tends to prefer to cover up and wears lots of pastels.
All stories featuring these characters will be tagged #The Bunny Burrow, as well as being tagged with each character who appears in each part.

Wow, what a finale to the end of our campaign
[Major spoilers for @cbus-by-night below. Specifically stuff related to my character, Lattie]
Wow, just wow. I know a lot of this is going to be out of context since we are several journal entries behind on the campaign blog, but I need to get my thoughts out somewhere.
First of all, I found out some stuff (ooc) from the GM about Lattie’s embrace/sire. Apparently Lattie was never a human. Instead, she is a Frankenstein’s monster of Nosferatu corpses mixed with some other things put together by a Tremere. However, she doesn’t know this information…
Secondly, my character (Lattie) exited battle via someone teleporting her. The thing is that the teleporting was hijacked by the “tremere archon” we met a couple of sessions ago (his name is Will). He has basically kidnapped her to become an apprentice of his. (Kinda reminds me of Charles Xavier recruiting ppl for his school). The worst part of this is that she is now separated from her best friend, Delilah (a human who has superpowers that is toon force). This has caused Delilah to go in a path to becoming a supervillain in order to find out where Lattie is and kill who took her.
Bonus meme of how Lattie is doing:

3 & 20! :3
3. a character trying to find a place in their community
ezra. (i know i still haven't introduced them properly but he's the perfect answer) ezra arrived at the clan very recently, and reunited with a dear old friend- said friend doesn't seem to mind his, ah, anatomical changes, but ezra is having a difficult time settling in. hopefully soon he'll find his way back to himself.

20. a character with unconventional magic
not necessarily unconventional, but somewhat rare- smoke is a scrollwriter, a mage who creates gene and breed change scrolls. this is a difficult path to learn, and can be very dangerous when done incorrectly, so scrollwriters are few and far between. delilah is smoke's apprentice, her first and possibly last- most scrollwriters only ever train two or three over a lifetime.

beverages, books, and heartbreak
Miriam slinked into the alleyway silently, two drinks in hand as their boots clacked against the concrete, the familiar sound of her Laoshi humming filling the air. Opening the door with a creak, the welcoming aura of the lair filled Miri’s senses. Macaque was humming a jaunty song, reading a book Miri had ‘gotten’ (more like stolen for..) him. “Ah, bud.” Macaque put the book down, smirking at his apprentice. “What’s that?” He asked walking up to Delilah. “Drinks. I.. heard you talking about visiting the place on Main, but you had a show. Today was quite hot anyways.” Miriam handed Macaque the drink: kiwi and lime juice. “Thanks, kid.” Macaque genuinely smiled, taking a sip as he went back to his book. Miriam sat down next to him, watching him read as she drank her beverage: strawberry boba. It was the silent moments like this that Macaque treasured, just teacher and student (more like parent and child at this point, Macaque would never admit it though.) sitting down in their run of the mill dojo. As he flipped the page, he couldn’t help notice Miri’s blank face, eyes devoid of any color and expression numb. Just as quickly as he noticed, he looked away, and his heart ached just a little bit more.

@kchzndrvh oops
oh no bestie but i HAVE been thinking about dishonoured au for the past hour
Shannon as the Heart. As the empress who death sets everything in motion. Mary, the Lord Protector of Dunwall, standing on that windy parapet while a flickering of dark shapes spread over the roof of the boathouse.
Mary with her folding sword and her pistol fighting these assassins, tossed aside by an infamous assassin and watching her run a sword through Shannon’s body, watching her her curve around the injury like a question.
Mary tortured and freed from Coldridge by an Admiral, Vincent, who tells her that they will put Shannon’s daughter back on the throne if only they can find her.
Dreams of another place. A void in between death and nothingness, filled with whalesong and excised pieces of the world, turned strange and shapeless in their loneliness.
And in the midst of it stands the saddest girl in all of time. Dark hair floating around her, wreathed in shadow, dressed in her death.
The Outsider, who admits that her name is Lilith, who puts a warm heart into Mary’s hand. A soul suspended, a revenant, a voice to hear in her ordinary dreams.
Lilith whose voice is anger and dread and pity and joy and despair, pressing two fingers to the back of Mary’s hand, sending her to her knees with the pain, watching a dark pattern form underneath the skin, wrapping tendrils through her body.
“I am the Outsider, and this is my Mark. use it well, or don’t; it hardly matters.”
Mary as Corvo Attano who runs a bleeding line through Dunwall, sword and pistol and a burning mark on the back of her hand. Using the city’s rats as her allies, tearing at her enemies with tendrils of shadow. She is death incarnate, slipping from shadow to shadow or duelling stilt walkers in plain daylight, a ricochet of shadows plunging her hand into the whale-oil canisters on their backs, watching from balconies as they stumble and fall and explode into chunks of metal and man.
Mary who hunts the assassin - a killer who hides behind the name Daud - missing the moment when her apprentice, Camila, known as Lurk, is banished from her sight. Through the flooded district, through an army of killers, Mary reaches the heart of darkness. A killer whose name is Suzanne, or was, before she became the Knife of Dunwall.
(Sparing her. Making her the first to touch Mary’s blade without dying on it since Shannon’s death)
Mary as Corvo Attano in her mask, with pistols on both hips and a sword like a clever tongue in her hand. Consort of an empress, Lord Protector, saviour of the heir to the throne - a little girl whose mother named her Beatrice.
Years pass. A plague comes to Dunwall. It sweeps through the islands, and out in the bay the whales suffer and sing, and Mary watches (her daughter) Beatrice grow.
She teaches her to fight, to climb, to think, but the tower is a pit of vipers and she does not see the end coming.
Beatrice, who is the Empress. Beatrice, with her bodyguard at her side; a girl called Ava, who lived in Karnaca until Solkolov found her there and screwed shut the bones in her back. (yeah she’s Alexi)
Captain Silva, with an easy smile, who insisted on following Beatrice in her nighttime sprints over the rooftops of Dunwall, who sat with her in the gloom and the mist rising up off the water. A strange magnetism between them that Beatrice had to ignore, because she is Empress and her hand in marriage is worth more than all the whales strung up on all their scaffolds, bleeding money down onto the decks of enormous ships.
And then the prodigal sister. A woman called Delilah. In her youth she was called Crimson.
She tears through the throne room. She freezes Mary in cold carbon, even as Mary unsheathes a decade of carefully controlled rage, exploding into shadow and blood. Suddenly Beatrice understands what power really is: an illusion. A breath of dark magic is enough to tear her kingdom down.
They lock her in the study, but then a knock comes at the window and it is Ava, blood on her face from fighting her through a squad of her fellow Tower guards. Ava, helping Beatrice out of the window, the pair of them crouched looking down at the coup unfolding in the city below, the ring of the trams through the perpetual damp of a city whose blood is oil, and whiskey, and the shine of metal.
Down through the Tower like a pair of clasped hands. Down to subdue the traitor who took Beatrice’s ring.
And they don’t kill him. Beatrice would have - like Mary taught her - but Ava gives her a look and she dumps the unconscious man in the safe room atop the Tower. Takes her pistol and her sword and as much currency as she can carry.
They fight their way through Dunwall. They are a pair of gold coins minted in the pattern of two terrible cities, carving a path of quiet chaos through the streets, spilling blood where they have to, but choosing mostly to slip by unannounced. Opting to creep over rooftops, helping each other to scale chimneys and buildings, hand over hand and hand-in-hand. Ava silva, her one loyal friend, a piece of driftwood to cling to in the ruin of her life.
They reach the Dreadful Wale, and find a girl missing one arm, who calls herself Camila. And together, crammed into the belly of a lumbering metal whale, they cross the sea.
In the night Beatrice is visited by a woman, an Outsider who offers her power. A strange and beautiful woman who passes her a heart. It throbs in her palm and whispers into her ear.
“You are softer than the Lord Protector,” the Outsider muses, shadows splitting the lines of her body, twisting her into a non-euclidean presence. An interruption of air.
Her eyes black as pools, pupil-less. Black as the harbour water in Dunwall, and deeper.
“Ah, I see. You are in love with your bodyguard, aren’t you? How sad.” A sly smile when Beatrice shakes her head. “Don’t bother to lie. You do. The Void is a place of astonishing truth - it knows you, even if I do not. Yet.”
“Tread carefully, Beatrice Kaldwin. The road ahead is paved in blood, but you need not take every step on it alone.”
