Ever seen the game Transistor? By the same devs that made Hades. It's about a cyberspace utopia where a woman named Red was attacked by a group of people dissatisfied with the world, but her lover protected her. He got stuck inside the powerful cybernetic sword that they used, which can reshape the world's code, dragged around by Red, who lost her voice. She uses him to defeat enemies.

What I'm saying is, Desmond as Red and Clay inside the cybernetic sword. And the Templars as the enemies.

There was a Transistor inspired idea before but it’s for a different Desmond pairing and I cannot find it on this Tumblr anymore (as usual XD)

So for this one, we’ll change it up a bit and make it more… in line with AC’s plot.

For this one, Desmond and Clay were dating before Clay was sent to infiltrate Abstergo.

They started to date before Clay was approached by William Miles to join the Brotherhood but Bill learned that Clay is his runaway son’s boyfriend. He didn’t tell Clay about their familial relationship but he visits Desmond by the end of his shift and told him to return home.

Desmond runs away, of course, and, when he manages to contact Clay, he realized that Clay has been recruited. Before Clay could explain that he didn’t betray Desmond and that he didn’t even know that the man ‘Bill’ is his dad, William Miles, Desmond leaves New York, using the training he received on the Farm to evade Bill and Clay.

Clay joins the Brotherhood because he has nothing left and he felt that he has the best chance to find Desmond if he stays with the Brotherhood.

Because of this, Desmond isn’t captured by Abstergo because he applied for a motorcycle license. Instead, he starts an unplanned roadtrip across America, taking odd jobs here and there to get some cash (and go stealing cash on any asshole he comes across).

He starts to sing for bars and such because the tip is better and a few of them started posting his performance online.

Abstergo learns of his connection to Altaïr and Ezio because of Clay’s memories and Lucy confirmed that he is Desmond Miles, one of two confirmed descendants of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad.

He gets captured during one of his sidegigs and transferred to Italy. Because of the location they took him from, he was near another operation that concerns a man-made attempt of a Sword of Eden that uses an Apple of Eden as its battery. So Abstergo decided to bring the prototype in the same airplane that was taking Desmond to Italy for efficiency. This turns out to be a bad move for Abstergo because Digital Clay is more aggressive in this one, wishing to save Desmond before he becomes chained to the Bleeding Effect.

In this one, Clay did break but he only pretended to agree that his death is necessary to push Desmond to his destiny to make Juno stop observing him.

His plan is to screw the world to keep Desmond safe.

And, oh, look at that.

The Prototype is connected to the local network of the airplane that Clay has hacked.

oh god, it's hard to remember when I first started shipping them because I've been in the ac fandom for like. over a decade skjdhfakjsd

bUT I am not immune to the Mutually Fucked Up, Let's Vibe Here at the End of it All dynamic they have going on lol! plus, I love angst more than anything else, and these two together provide that in S P A D E S

I have HARD plans to write some desclay in the future, gotta prove I'm not a Fake Fan™ XD

2. What are your favorite things about the ship?

besides the above? well, they also have really excellent spideypool vibes LOL! like, I can just see them kicking ass, but no one's appreciating their skill because they keep quipping and snarking and are SO ANNOYING lololol

also, the contrast the contrast GUYS talk to me about the contrast ohmygod

one, a deserter who literally had to be dragged back into the cause, and the other, a man who sacrificed everything, blood, sweat, and soul, for the sake of a war that had used him up and left him to rot. I think about clay's on-again, off-again resentment that was threaded throughout his interactions with Des on animus island every night. I never sleep.

3. Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?

UHHHH UM, IDK??? I don't think I do............aside from the fact that I'm sad a lot of the desclay fics are pretty tragic and have not posted anything yet to tip that ratio lol! I feel like this ship isn't big enough for there to really be popular tropes, especially ones to hate. I'm usually just too grateful to see more in the tag to care lol
