Causes great back pain, I'd presume. Human spines are bad enough due to being reoriented for the vertical. Having a 90° turn and another whole length of spine is bound to cause even more issues.
Guys do centaurs have to eat both horse food and human food?
#I'd think there would have to be two digestive systems#Not convinced that grass and some grains would be enough to power a human brain (~25% of our energy budget IIRC)#Maybe it could work if the horse system was swapped out for a much larger human-style digestive system?#And they just ate a lot of human food?#But while it would be much bigger than a normal human system#It wouldn't be as big as a horse's#Don't need room for hindgut fermentation#So you'd have this extra space#I think you'd end up with the horse's body looking more like racing dog#Also while having horse lungs would be necessary#I think the human wind pipe and mouth/nose would just not be big enough#Maybe for standing around or walking slowly#But not for any kind of exercise#And especially not running hard#Dunno how you fix that#Also#Gestation and birth would be insane#That 90 degree bend is just not going to work#Dunno how to fix that either#The breathing thing maybe you could fix or at least help by giving them avian-style unidirectional breathing#Also the developmental mismatch between human and horse at birth would be an issue#Colt body ready to stand up and run in a few hours#Vs human infant body that can't do shit for months#Maybe just start with a horse head and it magically morphs and grows out a more developed human child torso and head after a while?#IDK#It's a mess

hi, im sorry for remaking this post i need to for several reasons at this point, and its a little longer than usual, sorry. but with the social security cuts/mass firings, payment schedules becoming inconsistent right before my eyes, and my tax rebate is still in limbo, im really really not doing well financially, and my additional income options have greatly dwindled, and i genuinely just dont know what else to do anymore, im at a loss
once i finish my remaining comms, i regrettably cannot take on more due to serious health complications. i have always had some health problems and developed a kind of chronic gi issue in my teens that manifested as frequent stomach and abdomen pain/discomfort, acid reflux, stomach ulcers, some other gi issues, and a near constant feeling of intense nausea, which 90% the time forces me onto my bathroom floor for a while, close enough to make it to the toilet when i need to hurl again, which i do on/off every day for at least and hour, multiple times. after a decade of this, it has wrecked my digestive system and practically ruined my teeth, and most recently i suffered what i thought was a flare up that has now lasted well over week, and has since become my new normal, which is seriously fucking me up and impeding my ability to just live so much worse than it ever has before.
my ability to work, do chores, leave my apartment, draw or write or read for leisure, move furniture i was supposed to move weeks ago, or do any patreon work has come to a screeching halt. and every time now i have tried to just draw through it i start to feel seriously disoriented and sick, its not even a lack of focus, its sort of like brain fog. to the point my sight is just blurs and blobs and im confused and have to try and force myself to refocus only to see all the absolute nonsense random lines i was aimlessly makin on the canvas and then running to the batbroom nauseous as hell again.
so im just...overall very worried about finances rn as grocery prices get worse and the federal government that controls my paychecks is gutted with now noticeable effects. i weirdly havent gotten my paycheck yet, and my next $48 bill comes out in a few days. genuinely have no idea what is happening with my check. but i honestly am scared. severe health problems, elon musk trying to end social security payments, upcoming bills, either being bedridden in agony or slumped against the bathroom wall in agony, both keeping me from working, and then my check skipping pay day and no word yet on my rebate, im just really freaked out on how to pull this togther to pay bills, cover rent, and get my dogs food on top of renewing my support letters (not cheap) knowing so little
i dont know, any help would mean the world to me rn, i feel like the world is falling apart. id like to pay my last bill for the month, and i deeply, seriously appreciate any and all help as a disabled person in poverty

Help me cover necessities please
Soooooo... after suffering for weeks it turns out I most likely developed new health issues due to my autoimmune condition
I have an IBD, which means I can't even eat what little food we have rn. My next check is going to be abysmal with all the work I've missed because I have been severely ill. So I really need help affording food I can actually digest and keep in my stomach. ON TOP OF already needing to buy medication and food for the other members of my house including my dog.
Anything helps, I thank everyone for all the recent support it means a lot ❤

$400 needed

As an animal lover, I've tried to imagine what my AU might be like if it had a real ecosystem XDD
Red = carnivores Yellow = omnivores Green = herbivores
Skeletons, like wolves/dogs, cats, and bears, are carnivores capable of eating anything raw. Monsters like Undyne are designed to feed on fish and other aquatic animals. These are the types of people who are likely to have hunger issues unless they learn to control their instincts. I believe that as the world became more modern, they would still be able to eat fast food, cooked meat (human's main source of food), chocolate, and mushrooms, but rarely since it can give them stomachache sometimes. They avoid consuming insects.
On the other hand, I think spiders and frogs are the ones that prefer insects the most but can also devour other foods. In this category, it all depends on whether monster is more adapted to a food supply.
As for plant-eaters, they lack a digestive system that allows them to consume meat without getting sick. A small amount of meat would be more than enough to give them nutrients/minerals.
I think I've rambled enough lol but it's still fun exploring that thing.

Pearl is like one of those dogs with digestive issues who need a special chair to eat. Except she has to eat upside down or she gets tummy aches. Hermit dinner parties have to have a special upside down chair for her.

having silly thoughts about human reader’s tummy grumbling and the cookies being able to feel it in the ground
then human reader being red in the face from embarrassment and cookies becoming wary of them like they’re a starving beast that can’t control themselves when hungry
does make me think about how long it’d take for a human in the cookie world to start to feel hungry or thirsty. like if time between human world and cookie world would be different 🤔
Hmm...that is interesting to think about too. I think someone once said that time for cookies passes differently because the ancients are still alive despite the dark flour war happening "years and years" ago. Plus, some of them comment about how they feel young again or how they are getting older but wiser. Someone said that maybe for the witches, a long long time is simply a few years. Like the witches banquet is 1 year in human lifetimes and 1,000 in cookie lifetimes. It's kinda similar how dogs live shorter lives in comparison to humans in a way. It also doesn't help when cookies can grow up in a matter of months, like with the "mycookie" character story. They go from being a baby, to a child, to a young adult in the span of a few months. They are still small in the story, but the obvious assumption that cookies age faster is still there. For the digestion and thirst question, I think the best way to speculate this theory is by utilizing something called the "size effect" and a difference to metabolic rates. Typically, large creatures tend to live longer than smaller ones, both in the way of the food chain and just survival altogether, but a larger body = more energy needed to run it. So, lets take the environment in for a moment that our human subject can eat. For that, the answer is everything.
The trees are roll cakes, the rocks are sugar cubes, and hell--even the building materials are edible! Plus, and the most obvious answer, the residents of the world are also edible. Be it cookies or cake monsters. The human is in a perfectly sustainable environment where they can pick and choose what they want to eat, as the world itself was created with the idea that humans/witches are on top of the food chain. Humans are omnivores, so we aren't shy about eating pretty much anything, if morals or personal beliefs don't restrict you from consuming certain things. So, as a result of this, the human would probably need to eat at least every other day to keep their metabolic rate in check, as they are also a warm-blooded mammal and we process food much faster than cold-blooded animals do. Drinking would be of little issue, as there are underground milk rivers, hydrating jellies, and (maybe) the waters themselves. Plus, berries are a good source of hydration too. In a way, staying hydrated would be more important, as dehydration is more likely to kill you than starving would. Food is pretty abundant and the human could just get up and leave for a while to go hunting on their own or just to forage if they feel pretty merciful/bad about eating any creature. Still, it doesn't stop the human from at least looking like this every once in a while when they get tired of eating the same thing and a rather aggressive cake monster decides to attack them...

Creating a Pet-Friendly Home: Understanding the Relationship Between Houseplants and Pets
As pet owners, creating a safe environment for our furry companions is a top priority. When it comes to selecting houseplants, it's important to be aware of which ones may pose a risk to our beloved pets. Here are some common queries regarding houseplants and their potential toxicity to pets:
Are Snake Plants Toxic to Cats?
Snake plants (Sansevieria) are generally considered safe for cats, but ingestion may result in mild toxicity, leading to symptoms such as vomiting or diarrhea. It's essential to restrict your pet's access to snake plants and seek veterinary advice if ingestion occurs.
Are Snake Plants Toxic to Dogs?
Similar to cats, snake plants are typically safe for dogs, although ingestion can cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort. It's advisable to monitor and limit your pet's exposure to snake plants.
Are Orchids Poisonous to Cats?
Orchids are generally non-toxic to cats, but it's still important to exercise caution. While orchid consumption rarely results in serious toxicity, it may cause mild digestive issues in some sensitive felines.
Ensuring the safety and well-being of our pets involves making informed decisions, especially when it comes to selecting houseplants. At El Noparque, we encourage pet owners to prioritize their furry friends' health and provide informative resources on the effects of plants on pets.

Pearl and Gem glance at each other. Then, as one, they glance back at Tango, who is, evidently, not Tango.
“Do we have an amnesiacold on our hands?” Gem asks.
“Maybe,” says Pearl, glancing back at Tango again. “Tango, buddy, you feeling alright?”
“I—” Tango opens his mouth. Closes it again. “I mean, I’m a little under the weather, to tell you the truth—I ate a South African sausage and it disagreed with me.”
Pearl hums. “And it’s messed with your memory a bit, right?”
“Yes! I mean, no—I mean, how did you—?”
“Would you say that you have a bit of an amnesiacold, Tango?” asks Gem.
“Amnesiacold?”
“You know. Amnesiacold!” Gem says. “When you get sick and forget everything and feel like somebody else?”
“Ah.” Tango pulls himself to shore. Frowns. “It’s more of an amnesia-food-poisoning, if I’m honest.”
Pearl winces. “Your poor digestive system.”
“It’s not very nice Pearl, I’ll tell you that much,” Tango says, voice low, one hand pressed against his stomach as he pulls a face.
“Okay, that’s enough, I don’t need to hear about your gut issues,” Gem interrupts. “But—you have an amnesiacold! You know, I was an amnesiacold last season.”
“You mean, you had an amnesiacold?”
“No, I was one.” Gem winks. “Like—Tango has an amnesiacold. But you? You’re the amnesiacold. You know?”
Tango’s shoulders hike up with discomfort. “I don’t know what you’re talking about. I’m Tango. And I think you guys should—should skadoodle somewhere else. Should bother-someone-else-ificate. Begone.”
“I had an amnesiacold last season, you know,” Pearl says. “Gem was one. You can tell us, buddy, we’re not gonna tell anyone.”
“Promise,” Gem says with a nod. “This is a safe space! You don’t have to pretend to be someone you’re not with us.”
Tango stares at them for a long, long moment, then sags, face falling. He looks exhausted, suddenly, and Pearl feels a rush of sympathy. It can’t be easy, being thrown into the game halfway through, with no context for anything.
“It’s been rough, dudes,” Tango says, voice cracking. “It’s been really really rough. I forgot how hard it was to get anything done on this server! There’s so much chaos, and—”
Wait.
“Ren?”
Not-Tango grins. “In the flesh,” he says with a bow of his head. “Or… not my flesh, exactly.”
“Ren?” Gem asks, tilting her head in confusion.
“Oh, that’s right, you’ve never met…”
Gem and Ren peer at each other for a moment. “You do look familiar,” Ren says eventually.
“Yeah,” Gem agrees. “I mean, obviously you look familiar—you look like Tango!—but… yeah.”
They stare at each other for a moment more.
“Maybe we met in a dream?” Ren says at last.
Gem nods. “Sure. Makes as much sense as anything else.”
Pearl glances between them, rocking awkwardly back on her heels. She clears her throat, drawing their attentions back to her. “Welcome back, buddy,” she says to Ren. “Good to see you again.”
“I wish that I could say the same,” Ren says morosely. “I thought I was—I was done, Pearl.” Now that she knows it's Ren, she can hear his cadence in Tango’s voice, voice dropping rough and low with drama as he bows his head. “I was done. No more games, not for the ol’ diggity dog. And now… Here I am!” He laughs a little, stretching out his arms to indicate the server at large. “In a body that’s not mine, in a world I’ve never seen, in a game I do not understand.”
“Oh, Ren…” Pearl frowns. She doesn’t know what to say.
Gem jumps in. “Hey, it’s okay! It’s just one session, you know? You can do one session!”
“I suppose I must.” Ren looks up at them, jaw tightening. “If I am here—I suppose I must.”
“I’d never been in any of these games before I was Cleo for a bit last season,” Gem says. “So you have an advantage there! And, hey—maybe you can come back next season, and we can meet for real?”
Ren shifts uncomfortably. There’s something heavy hanging about him, something Pearl can’t quite understand. She remembers the last time she’d seen him, skull caved in from the dripstone spike dropped on his head. She remembers her own amnesiacold, the exhaustion that had dragged at her before it had settled in, the memories that had plagued her and just wouldn’t go away. And she wonders—
Just how exhausted would you have to be that your body would have to leave as well as the rest of your self?
Just how sick would you have to be before you didn’t want to come back?
Still, Ren steadies himself. Quirks Tango’s mouth into a smile. “Maybe,” he says, meeting Gem’s gaze. “That would be nice, to meet for real.”
