I want to write all sorts of tutorials on making cool and interesting and random and useless Discord bots, but I struggle to commit because I'm never sure if there's an audience for them.

So, here's a tutorial from how to go from 0 to Hello world hosted in Google Cloud for free. It's not flashy or exciting, but it sets up the basics for later expansion.

Please let me know if you'd be interested in more tutorials, like how to set up slash commands, or how to build a minesweeper game, or a random bird image generator.

Apps we use as a system !

Simply plural!

Simply plural is a great app for Systems! it allows you to track who's fronting, add more in depth information about who's fronting, Sort headmates out into groups, it also has a chat function.

Negatives: whilst it is a great app! it is more ideal for Smaller to medium sized Systems or Systems that switch solidly or for longer periods of time, as a bigger system outself, we find it quite difficult to use Sometimes, as it can be difficult for us regrading having to get up and log things.

they are also supportive of endogenic "Systems" and their resources do contain misinformation.

Octocon!

octocon is very similar to simply plural!

you can add headmates, categorise them, it also has a bit directly in discord, so it could be easier for some systems to use! It also has a diary feature! we have less to say about this as we personally don't use it, but it could be helpful for other systems!, it is currently only on andriod but will be releasing on IOS late 2024/2025

we feel that the app is quite clunky and can be difficult to use, especially if your already using apps like simply plural.

they also have a limit on how many alters profiles you can create to "limit the amount of fakers" - to specify direct quote from the official octocon server linked on there website, “the alter limit is to basically protect against ddos attacks, without the limit someone could take up an unreasonable amount of the bots resources and crash it. theres no way to go past it, and nobody so far has gotten close to going past the alter limit as far as we know.” I heard the term fakers being thrown around, I also assume that by “fakers” they mean endo “systems” but still the tone is there and it rubs me the wrong way considering systems that have high high alter counts (such as ourselfs) :)

Notion!

Notion is a great app! we personally dont use it to track our system but we know many Systems that do! it can easily be used for tracking fronts, alters, giving alters journal pages etc! it's very easy to use for beginners and there are many tutorials on YouTube about it! It is also used by a alot of singlets too!

our only criticism is that it isn't built for Systems! So you would need to build it all yourself or use templates if that makes sense which we know for Some Systems could be a struggle!

Mindly

Mindly is a very easy to use app, which is commonly used for making innerworld maps! It's very simply to visualise and understand!

Our negatives for mindly are that there is a limit on how many maps you can make, if you are like us for example and have different layers in your system you wouldn't be able to make multiple maps for those layers, also it is very limited on how you can customise your bubbles, with only the colour, text and emoji

Fortelling

Fortelling is a great app! you can use it to create innerworld maps every easily! being able to include images and in-depth describes also!, we also use it to create split/fussion maps, and you can also use it similarly to Simply plural as you can add in depth information and also custom fields!

Anytype

Anytype is a good app for creating private journal pages for headmates!

It's a great way to allow alters there own private space to express themselves

Our negatives is that it can be quite confusing when you first start using the app, and it could get confusing if you are a bigger System

Twinote

we love twinote! it's such a fun way to communicate with your headmates! the app is very similar to twitter but it's completely private! alters can completely create there own profiles and communicate with each other very easily!, we also know singlets that use it for role playing also! :)

Daylio

We use daylio well daily! it's a great way to track things like switches or Symptoms eta very simply! we also use it for non system related things just like sleep, school, our mood etc!! It's been so helpful for us and our doctors!

you people cropping out watermarks are literally the reason why i want to quit LMFAO, a big fuck you to the people who reupload my shit because i'll start making the watermark bigger and have full opacity.

For those who like FPS, multiplayer games and spy shenaniganeries in general: Deceive Inc. is now on sale!

(Conversion: the base game (in the middle) is roughly 3-4 USD. Don't take my word for it though, it might be a different price in your area, But it's still really cheap.)

What is Deceive Inc. and how is it played?

Deceive Inc. is an extraction FPS where you're tasked with going into an NPC-populated area to extract a briefcase by blending into the NPCs, all without getting yourself sussed out and gunned down by other players.

To do so, you have a Cover, and have to obtain Intel. You get your Intel from around the map and change your Cover to enter higher-security rooms to get your 1. Field Upgrades (perks), 2. Keycards (which will let you into doors for free) and most importantly 3. disable the Security Terminals to the Vault.

Once the Vault is open, you get in, get the briefcase, and get to the Extraction Point(s) safely, or at least alive. Keep in mind: there are still other agents who want the briefcase, and in most cases, that requires you to be dead.

2. Okay, but why?

It's fun!

The community on the official Discord server is very friendly, especially towards new players. There are custom games organised every so often, and I've personally gotten to know a bunch of friends through it.

The game itself and its mechanics are fairly simple once you get through the tutorial (which will explain it all in better detail), but the mind games people play and the Shenanigans are the main attraction. There are a couple specific agents that are very good at this: for one, Madame Xiu. Her main skill is teleporting to other NPCs (and there's a delightfully evil laugh as she does that), which can get you out of fights, reposition, OR get you into one if you so happen to teleport into another player. Here she is:

She's also the tallest character in-game, NPCs included. I love her.

And two, we have Larcin, who is a certified Rat Bastard™️and whose main gimmick is 1. stealing items from other players and 2. turning invisible. You can imagine the chaos that comes about. Here he is:

He's French, but don't let that stop you from the fun.

Also: the music. This is one (or four; it's a medley) of the many bangers in game, have a listen:

IMO it's worth it just for the music. The graphics don't let up too. As for its diversity, more than half the playable cast is canonically queer half the cast is Not White, and half are women.

3. But I'm bad at FPS!

Don't worry, I'm terrible too the game offers a Beginner Protection Mode to players below level 50, which pairs you with other players below level 50 and some bots. Past that level, you can have private custom lobbies that you fill with bots, or invite your friends to play with you too. There's also Training mode, where you can test your build against a bot that can be revived over and over again indefinitely. But winning is only a tenth of the fun: most of the game is based around the spying.

4. Does it have co-op?

Yep! There are three modes: solos, duos and trios. In solos, you're on your own: any spy you see is an enemy. In duos and trios, you pair up with another (or two other) friend(s) to extract. Teams means more shenanigans, but also more fighting (you can be revived by your teammate though, so this isn't much of an issue), so be on your toes. If you're looking for a co-op game that isn't a platformer, this is it!

5. Microtransactions? 🤨

There are two currencies in the game: Credits and Bonds. Nominally, Credits are the free currency (you earn them just by playing games, for 50-150 per game depending on performance) and Bonds are the premium currency you can pay IRL money for. However, you can also pick up Bonds for free in the game (there are just piles of Bonds lying around in maps), and you can also earn Bonds by levelling up your characters (doesn't take anything more than time and effort). Past the first 10 levels, every level you gain on a character gives you some free Bonds.

All Bonds do is unlock additional cosmetics. The characters are all unlockable through Credits, and you get four free characters right off the bat (Larcin above is one of them). There is absolutely no p2w mechanic (every win is pure skill and luck), and once you purchase the Season Passes, they are available for forever, indefinitely. The devs have made DI very friendly to players in this regard. Of course, you can always buy Bonds (and support the game!) if you're impatient.

In conclusion: get Deceive Inc. and get deceivin'!

Bonus: have a Vigil. I know you love Vigil.

This is my Dragon Age series following Inquisitor Ixchel Lavellan and her battle to find hope for herself, and hope for Thedas. As the world ends, Ixchel is resurrected under mysterious circumstances and is sent back in time to the Conclave. Ixchel is furious, convinced of her own futility, and yet she cannot give up again. These are the stories of how she gets better.

Symbolism:

I previously made some "tarot" cards for Ixchel. In them I feature a motif of eyes/eye shaped leaves, and the number 7. These represent the Old Gods/Evanuris that threaten Thedas.

Kindle e-book Cover:

The cempasúchil are Ixchel's Ardent Blossom later in the fic. They have layers and layers of meaning for her and her story, beyond her being Mexican. In my headcanons, an ancient tradition passed down from Elvhenan, a noble would give their Champion a crown of flowers, an “ardent blossom” of their own, to honor the promise and dedication their Champion gives to them. In Elvhenan, marigolds play a big role in bonding ceremonies of all kinds, symbolizing a promise that will last through an end–whether that end be the end of a corporeal form through death, or through voluntary uthenera, or some other pre-agreed upon ending of a partnership.

Gingko leaves (bottom orb) come to symbolize hope in the story, and remembrance. She teaches Solas and those around her how to take lessons from the past to build a better future, with the world they're given; in turn, her companions give her the strength to survive anything and to see that future come to pass.

I made this specifically to be a cover on my Kindle, where I've started downloading fics! I used calibre and this tutorial (view on desktop) to edit the metadata for the epub and add the cover to my Kindle. It's a little hard to see in the picture but the values turned out really well and legible IMO!

Archivist Bot Embeds:

Also, the Archivist discord bot automatically sweeps the first chapter of your fic and uses any art in it as a thumbnail for its informational embed when you post an AO3 link. Immensely satisfying :)

Kuroko: selectively an Omen main ans plays it just scare people, most of the times his smoke are either shitty or just for him and not for the team. He blinds you, teleports behind you, throws his phantom out in front of you and then kills you with a shorty when you turn around. Hard reset always puts him in silver 2, every single time, then he climbs back to his high-diamond in three days. Phantom over vandal.

Kagami: double rank up master, no one knows how he did it but he ranked up from gold 1 to diamond in ten matches. Dualist main - Raze and Jett, just so he can jump over the enemies, land somewhere near them and then die because his spray control sucks. Runs into sites and then cries that team did nothing to help him. Once he started 5-stacking, it turned out he can actually play on a high level and not die every round to a grenade that he had run into. Peaked ascendant 3 (99RR) just before a hard reset and ended up back in platinum just to get two double rank ups in a row. Phantom over vandal.

Aomine: played since the beta and Reyna was his first main, then he switched his main to every single new character that came out before eventually sticking with Yoru/duelist-Clove (his smokes are just as bad as Kuroko's except when they're situational). Entry fragger, has specific plans that work 36.93% of the times. Lurks when he gets bored, fakes sites for his team then accidentally aces before the team can plant on another site. Has four alt accounts just for boosting and playing with his friends. Radiant peak. Vandal over phantom.

Momoi: she plays rarely, mainly sits with them on a discord call and watches Aomine's screensharing stream. For most of the time only Akashi and Aomine knew she was a radiant peak, the rest thought she was a silver. And then they played 4v4 and Momoi clutched so many round she outfragged Kagami and Midorima. One of the best Iso mains you'd see, only Aomine remembers her Phoenix main days and that 50k she dropped in Act 1 Ep 1. Has an alt account, on main just plays duo with Aomine in radiant elos. Vandal over phantom, but switches over when she can't hit shots.

Midorima: refuses to play anything but a sniper rifle and a classic. When Chamber came out everyone thought that would be Midorima's new main but he hadn't even unlocked Chamber. Sova main - Sova was the agent selected automatically when he started the tutorial and for the first month he didn't know he could play different agents as well. Has an average of 38 lineups per site (on every map). Calculated the possibility of Aomine's plan working. Peak immortal, usually stays in ascendant. Refuses to use vandal and phantom.

Takao: pocket Breach/Skye main for Midorima. Listens to k-pop while playing, adds music bots to the discord calls and makes everyone annoyed - only Kise listens with him to the bot just because he doesn't know he can mute it. Farms TikTok clips for the entire match instead of actually playing. Walks with Midorima wall the time and kills people short range for him. Used to be gold 3 before, then ranked up and peaked diamond 3. Asked Aomine to grind immortal for him multiple times - Aomine played placements after a hard reset and accidentally got Takao a diamond 3 instead of his usual gold/plat, and Momoi almost killed him. Phantom over vandal because he only plays short range.

Akashi: sentinel main (Sage/Vyse), but also fills in when needed - Skye for flashes, Fade for info (although Midorima mostly takes care of that with his Sova recons), Brim for smokes just because Kuroko as Omen and Aomine as Clove cannot be trusted. IGL, if it wasn't for his callouts half of the team would be dead before the round even starts. Steady Ascendant, hard resets even give him nothing lower than diamond 2. Generally bottom frags, but leave him in a clutch and you have the "I'm a healer, but" meme. He can genuinely get an Ace with five bullets. Vandal over phantom (just for the one taps)

Kise: didn't even know what a valorant was. Giggled all the time while Aomine was explaining it to him. Plays solely blonde characters just because. Deadlock/Gecko main (Sova belongs to Midorima and Jett is often taken by Kagami; Tejo doesn't count as blonde because "he's old and just had gray hair"). Started at iron 1 and if there was a plastic rank, he would have it. It took him two weeks to get to silver and then another few months to get to platinum where he is now a hardstuck - on his good days he wins with ascendants (ekhem, Kagami, ekhem) for some weird reason. Phantom over vandal, he just runs and guns with it.

Murasakibara: Viper main just so he can sit in his ult/smoke with a shotgun. Sometimes takes Killjoy and 90% of his kills are made by the turret, the nades and on ulted people. They're not sure if they ever saw him use a vandal or a phantom. But if he does pick up one, oh boy, it's going to be an ace. Cried when they nerfed Viper and made it unable to pick up her smoke. No one really knows how he did it, but he climbed to diamond just using shotguns. He's the guy that gives zero info and laughs at people that die because of that. Plays either vandal or phantom, depending on which one he would pick up from the ground/which one has a better skin.

Himuro: Kagami refused Himuro joining for a long time, but Murasakibara started to almost solely play duo with him and the rest kinda liked him too and they needed a 10th member to play double 5-stack and Aomine said he would sell all of his alt accounts if they invited Wakamatsu. Actually plays the game rather than trolling, flirts with everyone. Says "clutch and I'll send you dickpicks" whenever someone is left in a 1v4+. Kagami kicked him out of the VC when he said that to Aomine. He's the "I miss her" Jett, except he's a Chamber/Cypher main. Ascendant peak, never got a double rank up and gets salty whenever Kagami gets them. Phantom over vandal, double tap headshot master, knows how to spray control the first 25 bullets, the remaining 5 go everywhere around for some reason.
