Birthday Present for my friend @fanficwolf105. Song of the Sea starring her fankid oc Amanda.

Ironically, Song of the Sea is a better Little Mermaid sequel than the actual Little Mermaid sequel.

I call this piece "Merrows" starring:

Melody from Return to the Sea, in the role of Big Brother Ben.

Amanda, daughter of Ariel and Nani, in the role of Saoirse (pronounced Sheer-Sha) I used fanficwolf's drawing of her for the picture, and since there isn't a drawing of her as a mermaid, I added a mermaid tail.

Ariel from Return to the Sea as Bronagh. Magical sea princess who has to leave her family.

Nani Pelekai from Lilo and Stitch as Connor. Surfing Champ turned lighthouse keeper, trying to keep her ohana safe.

Experiment 489 (Huggo) as Cu the dog. I thought about using Max but decided to go with something more seaworthy.

Kobra Bubbles from Lilo and Stitch in the role of Granny. Mr. Well-Meaning social worker worried about the storms bombarding Hawaii.

Ursala from The Little Mermaid in the role of Macha, with Flotsam and Jetsom as her owls. She’s the reason for all the storms.

King Tritan from The Little Mermaid in the role of Great Seanachai. Lonely Ruler of an abandoned kingdom.

The fish women from Hercules and Xena: Battle for Mount Olympus as the Daone Sidhe. I don't know if they're sirens or sea nymphs. In this story they're sea nymphs.

Grimsby from The Little Mermaid as the Bus Driver.

David from Lilo and Stitch as Ferry Dan.

Nevy Nervine from Ava's Demon as Mac Lir. The tragic daughter of Ursala.

The story is this...

Merrows are a type of mermaid who can turn into humans with the help of magical amulets. Merrow princess Ariel fell in love with and married human Nani. Thanks to either sea magic or alien science, they both conceive babies with each other. Ariel has Melody, and three years later Nani has Amanda. But right after Nani gives birth, Ariel is called away by her father King Tritan, and must leave behind her family and transformation amulet.

Nine years later, mysterious storms and tsunamis batter islands up and down the Pacific. Melody spends her time swimming with beloved Huggo, while Amanda tries to learn more about her heritage. One night, Amanda finds Ariels' transformation amulet, puts it on, and takes her first swim through the sea as a merrow.

But the storms are getting worse, and Kobra Bubbles is in charge of evacuating the islands' children from the coast. To protect her daughters, Nani tearfully makes them leave. But Melody and Amanda sneak away from Bubbles, and while traveling to the coast, they meet a quartet of sea nymphs who sing about King Tritan's battle with sea witch Ursala and how he sent away his people in all directions under the care of his seven daughters. Hearing this, the sisters take a rowboat to sea and search for their grandfather.

At sea, they're attacked by Ursala's eels who take Amanda away. Melody drifts alone with Huggo until Tritan finds them. He explains that a hundred years ago, Ursala had a daughter named Nevy. Nevy went mad with grief after her human lover died so Ursala removed her emotions and turned her into coral. Ursala tried to turn other merrows into coral but was sealed away in an iceberg. Ursala broke out of the iceberg the same day that Amanda was born. To protect his people, King Tritan called back his daughters to lead them to safety. He can't leave his palace, but he can help Melody by giving her an amulet (the locket) so she can be a merrow too.

Melody is guided by Ariels' spirit to Ursalas' lair. Ursala is midway through stealing Amanda's emotions when Melody stops her. Melody and Amanda uncork all the bottled emotions, causing Ursala to have a breakdown. She tearfully admits she forbade Nevy from seeing her lover, and that's why Nevy was in so much pain. She promises not to hurt the other merrows if the sisters bring Nevy back to life.

They swim back to Hawaii, reunite with Nani, and sing a beautiful duet that not only raises Nevy from her coral bed, but also calls back the merrows scattered around the world. Including Ariel.

hello!! out of curiousity, do u have any voice headcanons for the nextgen kids?

OKAY SO last time this question was asked I didn’t have answers but now I have a few!!! It’s been a bit of a struggle to find voices for some of my guys but I do have ideas on their voice profiles so I’m open to suggestions on who would be good…

Azura- I’ve really fallen in love with the concept of AJ Michalka (Stevonnie, Catra spop) being her voice- I think Azura would have a scrappy cute voice that’s still unique to her that fits in with her family, and it would be very cute to have a VA who’s iconic for voicing queer cartoon characters be the voice for the kid of two of the biggest history makers in Disney…. Shes so cute

Bronwyn- Bronwyn at her core is a musician and her struggles with anxiety and panic disorders are a huge part of her character- I feel like her voice would be that of someone who could connect with her and play a soft voiced “mature” girl with a passion for singing and songwriting, so I settled on her being voiced by Mitski, the singer we all know and love. I think she would be able to bring a lot of life to her.

Juno- Juno being a trans girl is very important to her character and I would want a transfem to voice her, but when there’s transfem characters in media they’re almost always portrayed with higher “passable” voices from what I’ve seen. I want her voice to be a little deeper to represent girls who have those voices, and I think her sense of style and humor would come through well with iamblizzymcguire/blizzabella, A transfem nyc based comedian and model who I love. She’s so unique and sillay and I adore her

Now!!! Voice profiles for the guys I don’t have specific ideas for!

Hyacinth- at first I thought of him being voiced by Alex Lawther who plays younger Philip in canon, but he’s 1) British and 2) his voice is a bit more mature than I would like. Part of Hyacinth and how he differs from Philip is that he’s a lot smaller, and while I wanna have a voice for him that’s still in that “tenor range head voice that’s very in the nose and has a soft cadence,” I don’t think Lawther could do that. I would want someone similar and who isn’t British so I could imagine it better…

Mittens- I think mittens would have a tiny voice that’s also more masc, not so much scratchy and raspy but like. Little guy. Y feel me

Calcifer- honestly I’m not sure how to describe what I hear for them- they give me a vibe of a very cute and polite little kid who’s able to get Sillay???? They’re excitable and they tend to infodump………

Bramble- at first I thought I had a voice for him- that voice being Andrew Kishino who voices the character his design is based off of (Kevin from Steven universe) but Kish’s voice is way too mature for an angsty 14 year old trans boy. I do want his voice to be on the deeper and softer side with a good amount of sass though.

Briar- I don’t really know what to do for her since she’s still kinda new ….

K, so just. Random Assortment of thoughts.

(This got long so I’m yeeting it under the readmore)

1) CC!NextGen - how about, the fewer kids these couples/groups have, the less likely they’ll ALL want to be Heroes. Like, Say for Umi, Miku, Miyuki, & random kid 4 (Nitaru’s here somewhere, but we aren’t counting him, he’s an outlier). Like, LM wants to be a hero. Umi might, specifically in sea rescue, but otherwise, I don’t see her being THAT into it? I … Honestly can’t say I see Miku wanting to be a HERO-Hero - like, I can see her wanting to be a cop, or a detective, but I could equally see her wanting to be a historian, or a hairdresser. Then Adoption4/ LM’s baby brother (I’m arbitrarily deciding Deku randomly adopts a little toddler boy, they have three girls[?]) he DOESN’T want to be a hero, he’s, like … an analyst. One of the Iida kids becomes a movie producer, or set designer, he ends up with like, 5 or 6, not ALL of them want to be Heroes. Neither of Mina’s kids become heroes, but (if we do the Mimic Kid, and the Blood Drinker Power-Up) both Tooru/Himi(/Sato) kids do. Akiko does, but neither of the twins (if we give them twins) do. Someone wants to be a doctor, or a lawyer, or a scientist. One of the Kyoka kids starts a band.

2) CC - Mimi made the joke that Koda’s future husband is just Goliath from Disney’s Gargoyles, so that’s what I’m more or less imagining now. Big, impossibly beefy guy with wings. Has skin like stone, though he can be cut and bleed, though it is really hard to do. Doesn’t actually turn to Stone, but can hold himself stupidly still for HOURS. He prefers signing over talking most of the time, because he thinks his voice is scary (it’s DEEP, and when he’s mad, it can be TERRIFYING).

3) MHA-Monsters - think I sent the ask, but given Shoji is often associated with Octopi, you could make him a Cthulhu-esqe creature from the Deep. He doesn’t necessarily HAVE to be an Eldritch horror (I’m imagining something a bit closer to Octolings from Splatoon mixed with Monster High), but he could be. Or, if it’s funnier, he’s constantly annoyed by people assuming he’s some kind of Eldritch Horror, because whatever species he is, is NOT RELATED, the only reason people think that shit is because of Lovecraft, which is really just insulting-

4) MHA-Monsters - because they weren’t mentioned, I’m guessing; Hound Dog’s a werewolf, Ectoplasm is a poltergeist, Lunch Rush is actually a completely normal human who is just really good at making large quantities of food, Power Loader is a Gremlin, Cementoss is basically a Goron (Legend of Zelda).

5) MHA-Monsters - if Hagakure is a ghost, are we doing, like, recent ghost? Older? Is she straight up dead, or is it more of a Danny Phantom situation?

6) CC - How/when to Shoji and Tokoyami start dating? (I mean, how do ANY of these kids start their relationships, but that seems like a lot, this is already long enough, those two annd Tooru/Himi are who I’m currently most interested in, but Shoji/Toko, let’s start there. If you want to do any of the others, feel free, but yikes, this is getting long)

7) CC/Suggestion - I know you said you wanted to do more with Ojiro, so Mimi suggested submitting her version of his backstory? Anyway, Ojiro backstory, Mimi Version: Ojiro was mostly raised by his grandparents, with assistance from some aunts and uncles. His mom is pretty flighty, doing whatever takes her fancy. She likes to live fast, free, and fancy, something that is hard to do with a kid. So, she decided he could “visit” with his grandparents - she just dropped him off one day, and never came back. His grandparents are somewhat gruff, but kind people, who love Ojiro a lot, and try to teach him practicality and common sense. They are very “we have no idea where we went wrong” about Ojiro’s mom. His uncle owns a martial arts dojo, where Ojiro spent a lot of his childhood. His aunt travels a lot, which is why she Didn’t take Ojiro in, while his uncle is married and has eight kids, which is why he didn’t take Ojiro (to be clear, they both would have, but they all thought the grandparents would give him a more stable childhood). Ojiro has very few memories of his mom, and in fact hadn’t talked to her in years … until shortly after the Sports Festival, when all of a sudden, she was calling to reconnect “because [she] missed [him] so much!” (The whole family is giving her a bit of the side-eye here. Oh, you want to reconnect with your son? After you dumped him for a decade? Right after seeing him on live tv in a very prestigious hero school? Hmmmmmm…….) 

(Ok, Mimi now wants to know how Kendou/Ojiro would go - material artists with very simple Quirks)

Final note for Ojiro: the one thing most of the family hasn’t really forgiven Ojiro’s mom for, even beyond just dumping him off and leaving, is that she has never told anyone who Ojiro’s dad is. None of them know, and they’re pretty sure SHE doesn’t know either.

Again, mostly just sharing to get the thoughts out, you may pick, choose, alter, and discard at your leisure!

1.) Oh yeah it’s. Umi I debate between her being a Hero or her doing stage shows and the like. Maybe both tbh. Miku I don’t think she’d be a Hero but she has some great like, paleontology vibes. But yeah there’s just all sorts of kids and some don’t end up Heroes but a good chunk do.

2.) Now I’m straight up imagining Goliath. Voice and all. Holy fuck.

4.) On one hand Hounddog as a Werewolf makes sense, but then I’d probably have him more relevant to the plot given Katsuki so I’ll swing back. For Ectoplasm yeah with a name like that gotta be some kinda Ghost. Lunch Rush being Human is great. Not even a Witch just full on Scooby-Doo and the Ghoul School applied for the job and got it not knowing. For Power Loader I already have Mei as a Gremlin, and I while there’s some allowance for repeat creatures I don’t think havig them repeat is what I want. On the other hand since I already hit my classic monster movie quota, let’s work on the high fantasy with some Dwarves because they’re craftsmen who dig underground(maybe make him more a Dwarf/Elf considering the lack of beard and burlyness. I know I likened the harpies to the Rito, but that wasn’t quite a ‘I have Zelda creatures thing. I’m swinging away from that for a moment.

5.) While I am yoinking from my DP Lore a bit, I am letting her be like. Dead. ( (which my DP lore lets them be dead too lmao) Don’t worry she’s fine it happened a while ago she got over it and is moving on with her lack of life. It’s a funky thing of Ghosts /can/ age but I’ll come back to that later

6.) Ahahahaha. I need to hammer out who asks who but I do know that they’re gonna be dating soon because the Mall Arc is gonna have them on a date.

7.) God even the ‘default settings’ kid gets to have childhood trauma! But also I like this a lot. I am vibing with the Kendo ship though! I can see them talking!

Gedeputeerde Staten van Zeeland hebben vandaag besloten vijf projecten uit de Impuls Jongerencultuur te subsidiëren. Hieronder dansklassen, muzikaal talent en een heus Pestival over persten. Het is de derde toekenning uit de tweede openstelling . Het gaat om een bedrag van in totaal € 121.432. Na de beschikking van dit bedrag is er in deze ronde nog € 264.244 beschikbaar. Educatie Project Jongeren Stichting Vrienden Kamermuziek ontvangt € 18.159,- voor ‘EDUCATIE Project Jongeren’, bestaande uit de twee onderdelen IMPRESSION en ACADEMY. IMPRESSION is een buitenschools project waarin groepen jongeren onder professionele begeleiding hun interpretatie en impressie geven op een klassiek stuk muziek. Uit deze resultaten zullen vijf impressies door een vakjury worden gekozen om tijdens de finale avond op Festival Zeeland Klassiek op 6 juli 2024 op te voeren. Tijdens het ACADEMY traject wordt aanstormend muzikaal talent - conservatorium studenten - gedurende een aantal dagen intensief professioneel begeleid en gestimuleerd in hun ontwikkeling. Alle deelnemende studenten zullen in het slotconcert op 5 mei 2024 zowel een soloconcert als in een ensemble spelen. Aanvullend zullen Talentklasleerlingen van de Muziekschool Zeeland een coaching sessie met een van de docenten krijgen als een extra stimulans voor een carrière in de muziek. Eindpresentatie Dansklassen Stichting Openbaar Verenigd Onderwijs (OVO) Walcheren ontvangt € 12.458,- voor project ‘Eindpresentatie Dansklassen’. Het Scheldemond College heeft een professionele dansklas, met dit projectvoorstel wordt als eindpresentatie op 27 juni 2024 een professionele dansvoorstelling uitgevoerd. Musical Aladdin Stichting Openbaar Verenigd Onderwijs (OVO) Walcheren ontvangt € 16.565,- voor het de muzikale voorstelling ‘Musical Aladdin’. Het Scheldemond College organiseert hiermee een professionele opvoering van de Disney musical Aladdin Junior. Het Pestival 2024 Stichting ‘t Beest ontvangt € 50.000,- voor het project ‘Het Pestival 2024’. Tijdens dit project zal de Jeugdtheaterschool Zeeland een groep van 20 jonge makers en spelers begeleiden in hun onderzoek naar pestverhalen. De input wordt door de jongeren in repetitievorm met de coaches vertaald naar teksten, zang en dans. Aanvullend krijgen de jongeren de kans deel te nemen in diverse masterclasses in verschillende culturele disciplines. De verzamelde verhalen en kunstzinnige uitingen daarvan zullen eerst deels op het Eindeloos Eiland Festival worden vertoond en uiteindelijk in oktober op het Pestival in de katholieke kerk in Goes. Project NextGen 2024 Stichting ‘de Klomp’ Festivals ontvangt € 24.250,- voor ‘Project NextGen 2024’. Project NextGen Festival is een innovatief cultureel evenement, op het terrein van Klomppop te Overzande, speciaal ontworpen voor jongeren in de middelbare scholierenleeftijd om zo’n 300 jongeren op een laagdrempelige manier kennis te laten maken met culturele uitingen. Daarnaast worden er interactieve workshops en demonstraties gericht op de interesses van jongeren aangeboden. Denk hierbij aan digitale kunst, dans, theater en street art. Over de subsidieregeling De Impuls Jongerencultuur is een subsidie van de Provincie Zeeland met middelen vanuit Den Haag om jongeren na corona te stimuleren meer en vaker deel te laten nemen aan culturele activiteiten. Een eerste openstelling liep van juli tot en met december 2023. Tijdens deze eerste ronde was € 552.200,- beschikbaar. In totaal zijn in deze eerste ronde veertien projecten gesubsidieerd. Het overgebleven bedrag van € 261.385,- is overgeheveld naar de huidige openstelling. In totaal was er in deze tweede ronde € 456.085,- beschikbaar.
