AITA for going no contact with my brother after he pulled a scare on my husband?
EDIT: For those of you coming here from my brother’s post (X) to shit on me, you look like idiots. Try to have an original thought and really contemplate who’s telling the truth after hearing both sides.
I (32f) am one of three siblings. We come from a very well off family. My dad is a former Cryptid and he pioneered the Hook Man in the 70s, so he still gets residuals off of that. We grew up very comfortable and with the ability to do anything we wanted in life. My older brother went to a very prestigious school and my dad gave him the money for tuition. Because my older brother got scholarships, he was able to save some of that money. Right now he works in human tech (very lucrative), but his long-term plan is to use the money to start a Cyber Spook business once he is satisfied with his knowledge foundation.
I ended up taking a gap year before going to community college, but I never felt anything click. I worked part-time jobs spinning out scarer costumes and even did some part-time work as a slasher before deciding it wasn’t for me. I finally found my calling when I offered to help cater for my high school reunion, and now I run a fairly successful catering business.
When it came time for my younger brother, “Steve,” to get his money, he didn’t tell anyone what he was going to use it for. He was working as a Slasher at a small firm in town. We all assumed he’d either go to Scare School or invest the money to start a business like our older brother did.
So when Steve showed up to Halloween dinner one day, six feet taller with extra joints in his arms and legs, we were all shocked.
Dad was furious. He gave us all the same talk about the scare industry when we got our first part-time jobs documenting missions at his company. He told us that scare work was hard and backbreaking. We couldn’t buy our way into it or use his connections to become successful. If we were interested in it, we had to work our way up from the ground like he did. If we didn’t, we’d more than likely end up dead at the hands of a final girl.
He especially emphasized that mods had to be considered carefully and were NOT a substitute for skill.
Steve thought they were. When his company didn’t pay him back for his body modification AND didn’t promote him from Slasher to Regional Nightmare, he quit. But the surgeries drained his cash and he couldn’t afford his apartment anymore. He had to move back in with Mom and Dad. As always, Mom totally coddled him. She said that he didn’t have to pay rent and agreed with whatever he said when he’d go on these long tirades about his former company.
I could tell Dad wasn’t happy with the arrangement, but he’s never been able to go against Mom. So he mostly kept his mouth shut though he did try to get Steve a job at his old company. However, last I heard, Steve was set against anything corporate and was spending a dozen hours a day driving around using the app SlashDash to find jobs.
About a year and a half ago, I was over for dinner with Steve, Mom and Dad. Steve was talking about work. He said SlashDash wasn’t working out for him and was taking too many fees out. I offered advice since I’d done Slashing in high school. I recommended sites like Scarework and Midnighterr to get more gigs.
Mom told me I interrupted Steve. She gestured for him to continue and tell me about his exciting new setup.
Steve told me he was beyond the sites I recommended. He said he’d bought a scanner so he could listen to broadcasts of active corporate missions. When those fail, he arrives on scene to kill any straggling humans before the scare company in question can send a cleanup crew. And since he’s a Slasher on their scene, they have to give him emergency pay for doing it. It’s a total ambulance-chaser, bottom-feeder move.
Dad was just staring at his plate, not saying anything, but I could tell he was ashamed of Steve. Steve was bragging about being a vulture in the profession Dad helped build.
I asked Steve if he was proud of himself for living off of leftovers. Steve blew up at me, but so did Mom. She chided me for not respecting my brother’s hard work and that his idea to get a scanner was genius, not predatory.
After that dinner, Steve and I rarely talked. Most of the news I got about him came from our older brother bitching about Steve badgering him for scare connections or Mom bragging about Steve killing and “meeting quota.” She would get very cold with me when I told her he was finishing a quota someone else started and not doing his own work. She told me if I couldn’t respect Steve, then I was welcome to not come over while he lived with her.
(Yes, Steve’s always been the golden child.)
I stopped interfering with Steve and focused on my own life. Shortly after, I met my wonderful fiancé “Reginald” while catering an event at Dad’s old company. Reginald is the head of sanitation and he’s the one who gets sent out to clean up any unexpected events during a Scare (like any magical residue or body parts that can’t be explained away through human means). He used to want to be a Cryptid, but he’s got a heart condition that prevents him from working in the field. He says that he’s happy being the “janitor” and happier being with me 😊
Reginald and I got engaged after only eight months of dating. Dad always says that when you know, you know. I invited everyone in my family to an engagement party. Steve didn’t bother answering the invitation. Even though Steve and I weren’t on good terms, I was still hurt when he didn’t show.
When I confronted him about it afterwards, he said that he’d been promoted to Regional Nightmare and he was patrolling his territory, and that’s why he couldn’t come. I asked him what company he was working for, and he said he was still using the scanner.
I pointed out that he couldn’t be a Regional Nightmare without a state license since only the state can assign territories. He started going on and on about being his own “Monster” (and let me tell you, extra joints DOESN’T make you a Monster, those guys are way more committed) and that he had passed the state exam.
When I told Reginald about my brother calling himself a Regional Nightmare, he was concerned. He works closely with the legal department, and he said that Steve is opening himself up to lawsuits by declaring public slashing grounds as his “territory.” He offered to talk to Steve.
We went over to Mom and Dad’s house together to confront him. Dad didn’t know he was calling himself a Regional Nightmare and he went pale when I told them why we were there. Reginald explained to Steve and Mom that being certified was different than being licensed. Legally, Steve is a Slasher even if he can control shadows now (which is a VERY expensive talent to acquire if you aren’t born with it. I think Mom may have paid for it).
The conversation didn’t go well. Steve said a lot of nasty things about Reginald not hacking it as Slasher and claimed he was just jealous. He picked on Reginald’s health which I had me seeing red. I asked Steve what there was to be jealous of since he still mooches off of our parents? Mom got involved and it went downhill from there.
All this to say that I didn’t expect Steve to show up at my gender reveal party less than 5 months later.
Reginald and I weren’t planning on kids this early, but we knew it was meant to be as soon as I got that pregnancy test back. We decided to put off our wedding so that our baby can be part of the ceremony that makes us a family. That being said, I did still have a lot of things ordered for the wedding so I turned the day into a baby shower/gender reveal instead.
That brings us to the party my lovely brother wrote about. First of all, he wasn’t invited by me. Mom invited him, and when I found out, I wasn’t happy with her, considering he never apologized to Reginald after our last fight.
Reginald was stuck at work (some idiot brought together a whole summer camp of final girls and the aftermath was brutal) so I had to force myself to be a good hostess. It was mostly fine. We have good friends and my older brother was very kind in helping me with some of the baby games we were planning to play when Reginald finally got there.
Steve, however, was NOT helpful.
He was annoying the whole time. He messed with the kitchen and he hounded the guests. I’m PREGNANT and the smell of raw meat triggers my gag reflex. He took the meat off the heat without me noticing and basically prevented me from eating lunch with everyone else.
Additionally, Steve claimed in his post that the party was dying??? Reginald and Dad have a lot of friends in common so the party did NOT die. They were all interested in talking to Dad. Dad’s voice is very quiet and raspy from strain over the years, so everyone was being quiet to hear him better. Steve was the one practically screaming over him to talk about his scummy job. The new Hook Man who succeeded Dad was there and Steve basically treated the poor man like a novice even though he’s a Cryptid.
Reginald finally got home and I could tell he was exhausted when I met him at the door. He still put on a smile for me though and said he didn’t need to miss out even when I told him it would be okay. He wanted to be there in our big moment to celebrate our family. He went upstairs to change.
I went back to the guests to tell them that we would start the games soon. That’s when I heard Reginald scream and fall down the stairs.
I’ll never forget the look on Reginald’s face. He was lying at the base of the stairs and looked like he was dying. He was gasping for breath and clutching at his chest. I was terrified his heart was giving up. I asked Hook Man to call an ambulance.
That’s when Steve started laughing.
I lost it. I screamed at Steve to get out. He told me to calm down, he’d just scared Reginald a little bit as a joke. I told him he knew about Reginald’s heart condition and that it was incredibly disrespectful to scare my fiancé in our own house.
He said he didn’t mean to scare him that bad, but that he was just better at it than he thought. His scares were too powerful. He seemed smug and was still laughing.
I accused him of intentionally hurting Reginald because of the licensing versus certification argument we had. I said he was a bully and an idiot.
Mom jumped in and said it was an accident.
Dad FINALLY said something. He shadow-walked (the first time in YEARS) up the stairs and hooked Steve by the neck. He dragged all twelve feet of him down the stairs and told him to get out.
Steve said, “For what? It’s not my fault that weak-hearted son of a bitch can’t take a joke.”
Dad lost it. He told Steve a REAL scarer wouldn’t use their abilities like that on their own families. He told Mom and Steve it didn’t matter if he meant it as a joke. The fact is he used his scare tactics on a layperson, and he could get blacklisted from the profession for it.
Dad kicked Steve out and told him he wasn’t welcome back into the basement until he got a REAL job. Steve kept arguing, but the paramedics arrived then and I lost track of the rest of it.
I went with Reginald to the hospital where Reginald insisted we both get checked out. The stress wasn’t good for the baby and doctor told me it might be best to go on maternity leave sooner rather than later. Reginald is also going to be taking a leave from work. He had a heart attack because of my brother.
Things could have ended worse, but they didn’t end well. I told my parents that I refuse to have Steve at my wedding or even to see my child after they’re born (and now I STILL don’t know the gender! Only our older brother knows since he got the gender reveal cake).
Mom started to protest, but Dad said he understood. He said that both he and Mom just wanted me to be happy and healthy and that they would take care of Steve.
So now I leave it up to you. Having read both of our posts, who do you think is the real asshole? My brother for being “proud” of scaring my fiancé into a heart attack at our baby’s gender reveal party? Or me for never talking to said brother again for the health of my future family?
AITA?

Non-Disclosure Pregnancy
────୨ৎ──────୨ৎ──────୨ৎ────
Pairing: Idol!Felix x Fem!Reader
Summary: How do you confront the man who got you pregnant when you signed a piece of paper that specifically told you to stay quiet?
A/N: I had this thought while rewatching Nana… when I saw this weird creature called Takumi becoming a father, and I just thought, hell yeah, I got an idea. Sorry if it seems a bit rushed—it was just a quick short story in my notes app again.
Warnings: I don’t know, man. Mentions of condoms and sex?
────୨ৎ──────୨ৎ──────୨ৎ────
She could still feel the small plastic stick in her hand. How the two plus signs stared back at her. How, despite their pale colors, they had burned themselves deep into her mind.
Positive… positive… po—
“Miss Y/L/N,” the receptionist called.
Y/N looked up.
“The doctor is expecting you.”
Y/N grabbed her bag and jacket and stood up.
 ୨ৎ
“Congratulations, Miss Y/L/N…” The doctor smiled as she handed her the document, confirming it once again. Positive. Y/N looked at the doctor, who immediately noticed the lack of enthusiasm. “We can discuss your options… in case you’re not ready to become a mother,” the doctor said cautiously. Y/N remained silent.
“Adoption… surrogacy… abo—”
Y/N shook her head.
“I… I’m not sure yet, you know?”
The doctor nodded understandingly.
“Problems with the father?”
Y/N let out a quiet sigh.
“Yeah… yeah, something like that.”
 ୨ৎ
She put on her jacket and glanced over at the pregnant woman scheduling an appointment. Her belly was much bigger than Y/N’s… but then again, Y/N was only in her second month.
She quickly left the clinic, walking down the stairs. As she pushed open the door, that damned poster blinded her once again—the one she had been trying to avoid.
“Problems with the father?”
Y/N looked up. Stray Kids stared back at her. But her focus was locked on one member—the one with long, blonde hair. The one who had whispered sweet nothings into her ear while taking her in an expensive hotel room.
 ୨ৎ
“Felix,” he had said, smiling. Y/N set down the cashier scanner she had been using to check out the two men’s groceries.
She turned to the man standing behind him. They were both wearing masks—except for Felix, who had pulled his down. Her gaze returned to Felix. “Can I help you? Are you looking for something?” The man behind Felix laughed, making both Y/N and Felix glance at him. “Hyunjin, knock it off,” Felix murmured before turning back to her. “No, I know where everything is, thanks. I was actually… I was actually looking for you.”
“Me?”
Y/N stared at him, confused. He had such delicate features…
She felt almost hypnotized by the beauty of this man.
Felix slid something across the counter toward her. She lowered her gaze to their groceries.
 ୨ৎ
“Condoms are provided,” the manager said. Y/N gave him an understanding nod. “Not that I’d poke a hole in them, huh?” She laughed nervously.
The manager didn’t even flinch.
“Oooohhh… okay sensitive Topic, sorry.”
She clicked the pen with the JYP logo on it. The room she was in felt sterile. So… uncomfortable. She glanced once more at the document in front of her. The three letters NDA stood out the most.
“If I break these rules, then what?”
The manager sighed. He had already explained it to her several times. “Then it will be expensive for you, Miss.” She pressed her lips together. With slightly trembling hands—when had they started trembling?—she signed the document after checking all the necessary boxes. She slid it across the table to the lawyer sitting opposite her. The lawyer packed up the NDA, stood up wordlessly, and left. “Follow me, please,” the manager murmured.
“How often do you have to do things like this?” Y/N asked as she quickly got up, grabbing her bag.
“I don’t disclose that information.”
He opened the door to the small conference room.
Y/N winced as her sneakers squeaked against the expensive flooring.
Seoul’s most luxurious hotel. Her cheap shoes. Not a great combination.
She took a nervous breath as she stood in the elevator beside the manager. He noticed her tension. “It’s not a dentist appointment,” the manager said. “Well… this doesn’t exactly happen every day either,” Y/N mumbled, gripping her bag tighter.
“Felix is nice. Don’t worry.”
“Are you seriously giving me reassuring words right now?”
The manager stepped out of the elevator, and she followed him.
“Then why were you so mean to me in that little room?”
The manager rolled his eyes and unlocked a door.
He handed her a card.
“He’ll be here any moment. Please give me your phone.” Y/N quickly nodded and fumbled through her bag to find it. The manager placed it in a small plastic sleeve he had pulled from his pocket and gave her a thin smile before leaving, letting the door fall shut behind him. Y/N glanced around.
The curtains were drawn, the bed neatly made.
Only now did it truly sink in—what she was about to do—when someone else opened the door.
୨ৎ
She tried to remember if there was anything in her contract about what happens when you get pregnant by the idol you spent a very passionate night with… Y/N bit her lower lip as she desperately tried to think. She looked away from her tea and out at the view in front of her. That view was the JYP building. She probably looked like one of the fangirls sitting in the café, pacing up and down, waiting for one of the idols who worked there to come outside. Y/N glanced at them. One of the girls had a Felix photocard attached to her pants. The girl looked over at her, and Y/N quickly averted her gaze, turning back to the window. She rested a hand on her stomach, trying not to think about how HE had groaned into her ear with that deep voice. How HE had nearly emptied an entire box of condoms because of her. How HE had held her close, his forehead pressed against hers, telling her how good she felt… Y/N shivered.
She often sat in this café. Every day after work. She was in the middle of her second month and looked up as the employee brought her a tea.
“The usual, right?” she asked with a friendly smile.
Y/N thanked her and took the tea.
“Do you like any of the bands?” the employee asked. Y/N waved her off. “I just like the tea here.” “Oh.” The employee laughed and walked away. Y/N let out a small yawn. Her head ached from overthinking. She buried her face in her hands, propping herself up on the table.
 ୨ৎ
“Please, two iced Americanos and a lemonade.”
The café employee nodded and grabbed three cups.
“Tough practice today?” she asked as she walked over to the coffee machine.
“Yep.”
She glanced at the three idols who always came by just before closing time, knowing the café would be empty. Chan fumbled with his wallet while Hyunjin and Felix looked at a girl sleeping at one of the tables. “Is she okay?” Felix asked. The employee followed his gaze. “Oh… she’s here a lot… drinks tea, stares out the window, thinks a lot… I suspect she’s pregnant. She always has her hand on her stomach. I let her sleep; you never know what people are going through.” Chan looked at her, too.
“And the father of the child just lets her sleep in a café?” Felix murmured, concerned.
Hyunjin grabbed his arm. “Don’t worry about things that don’t concern you.” Felix looked at Hyunjin. As the three of them left the café, Y/N was gently woken up.
“Miss, we’re closing.”
She sat up in her chair.
“Sorry…” “It’s completely fine, please don’t stress.” Y/N gave a small smile and placed some money on the table.
 ୨ৎ
How was she supposed to tell him? Did she have to tell him? Yes, no question about it. Did she want to tell him? Yes, no question about that either. She wouldn’t be able to live with herself otherwise. She carefully stepped onto the street, heading toward the building. No matter what anyone told her—she was keeping the baby. She would manage with or without this company’s help. With trembling hands, she reached for the door and opened it. Security immediately approached her. “One moment, please, I can explain– wh—” She yelped as they grabbed her arms, trying to drag her out, when someone noticed her. “Stop, stop,” said none other than the manager from that night. Y/N’s eyes widened. “I know her. Let her go. I want to know what’s going on.” The security guards hesitated but then released her. Y/N looked at the manager.
Shit.
  ୨ৎ
Felix stared breathlessly at the ceiling of the studio, gripping his water bottle tightly. The door opened. “AHHH, look who’s visiting us!” Seungmin called out. Felix sat up. The manager didn’t look amused. “Is there trouble?” Changbin joked, taking a sip of his water. “Felix. Come with me.” Felix went pale. The guys stopped joking. Felix adjusted his sweatpants and pulled off his beanie, placing it next to his water bottle. He looked at Hyunjin, who gave him a confused glance.
  ୨ৎ
Y/N stared at the Twice poster. If she avoided the Stray Kids posters, maybe she could think about it less. Maybe it wouldn’t feel so final. The office door opened. Reflexively, she lowered her gaze to the tabletop. Felix froze in the doorway. “Is everything okay?” he asked immediately, his voice full of concern.
“I’ll leave you two alone for a moment—you have a lot to talk about.” The door closed again.
Y/N took shallow breaths. Her fingers dug into the fabric of her dress as she slowly looked up. Felix was still standing in the doorway, slightly out of breath from training. His blond hair was tied back, but a few strands had come loose, falling into his face. Despite the slight sheen of sweat on his skin, he looked perfect.
As he stepped closer, she suddenly felt so small. So stupid. Stupid because she knew her words could change his entire career. She opened her mouth—nothing came out.
“Y/N?” he asked gently. At least he remembered her name.
Her gaze wandered to his freckles. Would their child have them too? She hoped so. It had to.
Since when was he so close?
She flinched when she realized he had crouched down in front of her chair.
Right. She still had something to tell him.
“Before I start…” Her voice was rough. “I don’t want you to think I expect money or anything. I’m telling you because you should know.” Felix furrowed his brows. “Y/N, what—?”
“I’m pregnant.”
Felix turned pale.
“I’m keeping the baby.” She spoke quickly before he could react. “But whether your name is on the birth certificate is up to you. You can’t force me to have an abortion, and whether you pay child support is your decision. I just wanted you to know. I couldn’t sleep at night because—because you didn’t know.” Her gaze flickered. “I don’t want to ruin your career.” Felix blinked several times. Then he raised a hand. “Hold on.” “What?” “Stop over-explaining, sweetheart.”
Sweetheart.
He stood up, ran a hand through his hair, and took a deep breath. “Okay, shit.” Y/N clenched her hands in her lap. “So… I’ll be honest with you. I’ve never been in a situation like this before.” Felix looked at her. “Did you not save my number?” “Your what?” “My phone number. I left it for you that night.” “Oh.” Her cheeks grew hot. “No, I… I must have missed it.” Felix grabbed a piece of paper from the desk and quickly scribbled a number on it. “Save it immediately.”
Y/N took the paper with wide eyes.
Felix looked at her seriously. “Forget it. I don’t want you to have an abortion. Keep the baby. And I’ll take responsibility. Just tell me how I can help.”
She swallowed. “And if this all gets out?” Felix let out a dry laugh. “I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t be the first idol with a secret pregnancy.” He crouched down in front of her again, his hands wrapping around hers. “Please forgive my lack of enthusiasm.” His thumb brushed over the back of her hand. “That was just… a surprise. I actually planned to get to know you better before raising a child together.” “What?” Felix smirked slightly. “I left you my number because I wanted to see you again. Do you know how frustrated I was when you never called?” Y/N’s face grew even hotter. “I’m sorry. I didn’t know… I didn’t know you wanted that.”His gaze dropped to her stomach. “And you’re sure it’s mine?” he asked carefully. Y/N nodded immediately. “Felix, I’m a thousand percent sure. We can do a paternity test once the baby is born.” Felix sighed. “Management will probably insist on that. Do you know how many fake paternity claims Hyunjin has already had to deal with?” Y/N couldn’t help but smile slightly. Felix squeezed her hands tighter. “We’ll figure this out, okay? You and me. We’ll make it work somehow.” She looked into his warm, freckled face—and for the first time in weeks, she didn’t feel alone anymore. Y/N swallowed. Felix’s thumb was still gently brushing over the back of her hand, as if trying to soothe her. But her heart was racing. She wasn’t sure if it was because of his closeness or the fear of what was coming next. Felix took a deep breath. “How far along are you?” “Almost three months.” He nodded slowly. “Okay. This… this is real. Holy shit. It’s been that long already?” Y/N let out a nervous laugh. “Yeah.”
Felix looked at her like he was searching for the right words. “Do you have someone supporting you? Your family?” Y/N hesitated. “My family doesn’t know.” His gaze softened. “Have you told anyone?”
“No. A piece of paper is what’s stopping me.”
Felix squeezed her hands tighter. “Then I’m glad you told me now.” She let out a dry laugh. “I thought you’d either scream or run away.” Felix scoffed. “Do you really think I’m that kind of guy?” “I don’t know. I… I barely know you.” His lips curved into a crooked smile. “We can change that.” He let go of her hands only to grab a chair and sit right in front of her. Resting his elbows on his knees, he looked like he was trying to process everything. “Alright. You want to keep it. I want to take responsibility. So that means we’re… partners in crime now or something?” Y/N couldn’t help but smile. “I guess so.” Felix grinned briefly, but then his expression grew serious again. “If you want, I can help you tell your family.” Y/N stared down at her hands. She shook her head. “That won’t be easy.” Felix leaned in closer. “We’ll do it together, okay?” She looked up at him. “Why are you so… calm?” Felix chuckled softly. “Because I reminded myself that you don’t have to go through this alone. And neither do I.”
He leaned back. “Listen. I know my life is complicated. And now, because of me, yours is even more complicated. But I’m not running away. We’ll figure this out. And no matter what you need—I’m here.”

hello there! can I ask for some shen headcanons?
He actually goes to therapy, journals semi-regularly, and uses guided meditation apps (the calming British voice is his favorite). His locker has a laminated grounding exercise taped on the outside, and after some initial teasing, no one makes fun of it anymore — partly because it works, and partly because no one wants to admit they’ve used it after a bad case
His parents gave up a lot to build a life in the US, and he’s always felt the weight of needing to make that sacrifice mean something. He grew up translating everything from tax documents to medical bills as soon as he was old enough to read
He survived a mass shooting when he was in high school. He doesn’t talk about it — only a few people even know — but it shaped him deeply. He wasn’t injured, but he was locked in a classroom for hours, listening. The helplessness stuck with him. Medicine became a way to fight back against that helplessness, to make it so that in some small way, he could always do something.
Shen always has granola bars, ginger chews, and dried fruit slices stashed in his scrub pockets and has a habit of handing them to people who clearly need them. He doesn’t even ask — just walks up, hands one off, and says, “Eat something.” It’s gotten to the point where people joke that if you start spiraling, Shen will materialize out of thin air with a granola bar and all will be well
What started as a one-off bet with Ellis during a slow night shift turned into a full-on scoreboard that’s been taped to the back of the nurses' station whiteboard. Their bets range from “how many minutes until Walsh and Abbot start bickering” to “how many jellybeans fit in a specimen cup.” It's become part of the rhythm of the department. Frank pretends to be annoyed by it, but always ends up as a tiebreaker.
A god-tier Apex player with inhuman reflexes and aim. He once beat Ellis, Abbot, and Frank in a team deathmatch. They haven’t let it go and later discovered that he’s a minor celebrity in the gaming community, with entire Reddit threads dedicated to figuring out who the hell this guy even is.
He can quote entire scenes from The Two Towers and once gave Ellis a 10-minute lecture on Klingon honor codes during a night shift lull. He’s also really into Star Wars, especially the original trilogy, which he insists still holds up better than most modern sci-fi.
Shen is the person who catches the signs others miss. He notices when Ellis hasn’t taken a lunch break, when Abbot’s shoulders are tighter than usual, when Frank’s sarcasm is covering something sharp. He doesn’t confront — he adjusts. Hands off a snack, switches assignments without a word, gently redirects a conversation to take the weight off someone’s chest.
He’s good with kids. Not in a cutesy way, but in a respectful, chill, deeply non-patronizing way. Kids trust him almost instantly. He once sat on the ED floor for 45 minutes with a scared ten-year-old explaining what a CT scanner was by comparing it to the Millennium Falcon. The kid later named their hamster after him.

She Won. They Didn't Just Change the Machines. They Rewired the Election. How Leonard Leo's 2021 sale of an electronics firm enabled tech giants to subvert the 2024 election.
Tumblr media
Everyone knows how the Republicans interfered in the 2024 US elections through voter interference and voter-roll manipulation, which in itself could have changed the outcomes of the elections. What's coming to light now reveals that indeed those occupying the White House, at least, are not those who won the election.
Here's how they did it.
(full story is replicated here below the read-more: X)
She Won
The missing votes uncovered in Smart Elections’ legal case in Rockland County, New York, are just the tip of the iceberg—an iceberg that extends across the swing states and into Texas.
On Monday, an investigator’s story finally hit the news cycle: Pro V&V, one of only two federally accredited testing labs, approved sweeping last-minute updates to ES&S voting machines in the months leading up to the 2024 election—without independent testing, public disclosure, or full certification review.
These changes were labeled “de minimis”—a term meant for trivial tweaks. But they touched ballot scanners, altered reporting software, and modified audit files—yet were all rubber-stamped with no oversight.
That revelation is a shock to the public.
But for those who’ve been digging into the bizarre election data since November, this isn’t the headline—it’s the final piece to the puzzle. While Pro V&V was quietly updating equipment in plain sight, a parallel operation was unfolding behind the curtain—between tech giants and Donald Trump.
And it started with a long forgotten sale.
A Power Cord Becomes a Backdoor
In March 2021, Leonard Leo—the judicial kingmaker behind the modern conservative legal machine—sold a quiet Chicago company by the name of Tripp Lite for $1.65 billion. The buyer: Eaton Corporation, a global power infrastructure conglomerate that just happened to have a partnership with Peter Thiel’s Palantir.
To most, Tripp Lite was just a hardware brand—battery backups, surge protectors, power strips. But in America’s elections, Tripp Lite devices were something else entirely.
They are physically connected to ES&S central tabulators and Electionware servers, and Dominion tabulators and central servers across the country. And they aren’t dumb devices. They are smart UPS units—programmable, updatable, and capable of communicating directly with the election system via USB, serial port, or Ethernet.
ES&S systems, including central tabulators and Electionware servers, rely on Tripp Lite UPS devices. ES&S’s Electionware suite runs on Windows OS, which automatically trusts connected UPS hardware.
If Eaton pushed an update to those UPS units, it could have gained root-level access to the host tabulation environment—without ever modifying certified election software.
In Dominion’s Democracy Suite 5.17, the drivers for these UPS units are listed as “optional”—meaning they can be updated remotely without triggering certification requirements or oversight. Optional means unregulated. Unregulated means invisible. And invisible means perfect for infiltration.
Enter the ballot scrubbing platform BallotProof. Co-created by Ethan Shaotran, a longtime employee of Elon Musk and current DOGE employee, BallotProof was pitched as a transparency solution—an app to “verify” scanned ballot images and support election integrity.
With Palantir's AI controlling the backend, and BallotProof cleaning the front, only one thing was missing: the signal to go live.
September 2024: Eaton and Musk Make It Official
Then came the final public breadcrumb:In September 2024, Eaton formally partnered with Elon Musk.
The stated purpose? A vague, forward-looking collaboration focused on “grid resilience” and “next-generation communications.”
But buried in the partnership documents was this line:
“Exploring integration with Starlink's emerging low-orbit DTC infrastructure for secure operational continuity.”
The Activation: Starlink Goes Direct-to-Cell
That signal came on October 30, 2024—just days before the election, Musk activated 265 brand new low Earth orbit (LEO) V2 Mini satellites, each equipped with Direct-to-Cell (DTC) technology capable of processing, routing, and manipulating real-time data, including voting data, through his satellite network.
DTC doesn’t require routers, towers, or a traditional SIM. It connects directly from satellite to any compatible device—including embedded modems in “air-gapped” voting systems, smart UPS units, or unsecured auxiliary hardware.
From that moment on:
Commands could be sent from orbit
Patch delivery became invisible to domestic monitors
Compromised devices could be triggered remotely
This groundbreaking project that should have taken two-plus years to build, was completed in just under ten months.
Elon Musk boasts endlessly about everything he’s launching, building, buying—or even just thinking about—whether it’s real or not. But he pulls off one of the largest and fastest technological feats in modern day history… and says nothing? One might think that was kind of… “weird.”
According to New York Times reporting, on October 5—just before Starlink’s DTC activation—Musk texted a confidant:
“I’m feeling more optimistic after tonight. Tomorrow we unleash the anomaly in the matrix.”
Then, an hour later:
“This isn’t something on the chessboard, so they’ll be quite surprised. ‘Lasers’ from space.”
It read like a riddle. In hindsight, it was a blueprint.
The Outcome
Data that makes no statistical sense. A clean sweep in all seven swing states.
The fall of the Blue Wall. Eighty-eight counties flipped red—not one flipped blue.
Every victory landed just under the threshold that would trigger an automatic recount. Donald Trump outperformed expectations in down-ballot races with margins never before seen—while Kamala Harris simultaneously underperformed in those exact same areas.
If one were to accept these results at face value—Donald Trump, a 34-count convicted felon, supposedly outperformed Ronald Reagan. According to the co-founder of the Election Truth Alliance:
“These anomalies didn’t happen nationwide. They didn’t even happen across all voting methods—this just doesn’t reflect human voting behavior.”
They were concentrated.
Targeted.
Specific to swing states and Texas—and specific to Election Day voting.
And the supposed explanation? “Her policies were unpopular.” Let’s think this through logically. We’re supposed to believe that in all the battleground states, Democratic voters were so disillusioned by Vice President Harris’s platform that they voted blue down ballot—but flipped to Trump at the top of the ticket?
Not in early voting.
Not by mail.
With exception to Nevada, only on Election Day.
And only after a certain threshold of ballots had been cast—where VP Harris’s numbers begin to diverge from her own party, and Trump’s suddenly begin to surge. As President Biden would say, “C’mon, man.”
In the world of election data analysis, there’s a term for that: vote-flipping algorithm.
And of course, Donald Trump himself:
He spent a year telling his followers he didn’t need their votes—at one point stating,
“…in four years, you don't have to vote again. We'll have it fixed so good, you're not gonna have to vote.”
____
They almost got away with the coup. The fact that they still occupy the White House and control most of the US government will make removing them and replacing them with the rightful President Harris a very difficult task.
But for this nation to survive, and for the world to not fall further into chaos due to this "administration," we must rid ourselves of the pretender and his minions and controllers once and for all.

My Complete High School Transcript
This was for a new reality I created a bit ago that was sort of going to be "revenge", as I put it, before I finally permashift to my desired reality. But now that I'm not feral anymore, I thought it'd be best to not let the reality go completely to waste. A homage if you will. Context: I used to be a gifted child with "so much potential". Therefore, in honor of this deep-seated desire for academic validation here were going to be my unofficial overqualified high school years in a nutshell.
As @hrrtshape said it best, "I'll permashift when it stops feeling like a betrayal," but, in retrospect, shifting here would have felt more like living long enough to see myself become the villain.

(˶˃⤙˂˶) Hey so how should I go about making digital zines on a budget? What kind of formatting do you use? Big fan of ur work
hi! i use affinity publisher!!! i highly recommend it, especially over other options like adobe indesign or photoshop. affinity tools are one-time payment, and they have a desktop program ($70usd) and an ipad app ($20usd). i use the desktop version!
i also use a really cheap document scanner that's tbh pretty crappy.
but those are the two tools i use. i also recommend looking into free, creative commons or open source fonts!

I hope you don't mind me asking. But how do you create PDF files that you can search through them? Your method is so unique, so I'm curious.
Hi anon!
After I scan a book and have a PDF saved, it can’t be searched. It has to be edited and made that way. So I open it up in Adobe Acrobat. There’s a tool called “Optimize PDF” which has a lot of different features you can fine tune the settings of but essentially what it does is:
Straighten out the text to be perfectly horizontal and level (I try to scan two pages at a time then crop, so raw scans can be a little wonky)
Recognizes the text on the page (which allows key word search, highlighting, commenting, everything you can do with a word document)
Reduces file size (I scan at 300 or 400 dpi, which makes a sharp image, but a huge file, so this compresses it to be easier to store and share)
I find this aspect of scanning to be very valuable, personally, as it can make researching and referring back much easier. Even though I’ve already read these books, searching through for a specific scene is vastly more efficient when you can pinpoint the exact sentence based on a remembered phrase. It’s also nice to be able to highlight those to emphasize a point. Furthermore by reducing the file size it’s much easier to share the information with others. I’m able to attach files to messages without going over limits and I can open the books right from the google drive mobile app wherever I go.
Like if I’m out and about wondering just how much Cherith Baldry loves Kay, I can crack open Exiled From Camelot and do this
Tumblr media
2,387 mentions of Kay? Yeah. He’s kind of a big deal. ;^)
But real talk accessibility is an important aspect of my archival work. I try to provide the best version of a scan I can with my limited resources because I don’t know that the book will survive otherwise. Ruth PM Lehmann has passed away, so scanning Blessed Bastard, which only had a limited printing to begin with and now lacks a beneficiary, felt significant to me. The same goes for Peter Hanratty’s The Book of Mordred, which is an English translation of a German story and hasn’t been in print for decades. As for medlit, La Tavola Ritonda and my janky scanner tested my will to live but it ended up being so worth it to see everyone’s thoughts on it! I couldn’t find PDFs of these texts available anywhere, so I wanted to make sure they were preserved in the most accessible state possible for everyone to enjoy.
Anyway I hope that answers your question. I’ve got two books on the way I’m going to scan next and looking forward to sharing! :^) Take care.<3

Tips for authors if you ever have to move:
1. Don’t keep writing in your notes app iPhone will screw you over and you’ll lose your writing ALWAYS HAVE A BACKUP!!
2. Invest in a scanner and scan any and all handwritten documents related to your WIPs (Anything you’ve ever started is a WIP you can come back to…but not if you can’t access it)
3. Leave your physical copies behind unless you are moving specifically to sell your books! Preferably leave them pre signed with a trusted person who will sell them and give the money to you!
4. Allow yourself to take a break from writing! Moving is VERY stressful and you need to write when in a good headspace!
5. Get a lanyard for your USB or put everything onto a second location like a computer or Hard drive!! NEVER store all your WIPs in only one place!! That’s a good way for things to get accidentally lost forever!

21st Century Protest Structure: Field Coordination Model
Protesting in 2025 requires structure. The State is organized. Protesters must be, too. The following framework is designed to reduce harm, increase adaptability, and document misconduct in real time.
1.) Communication HQ
Central team monitoring police radio (Broadcastify, OpenMHz, analog scanners)
Tracks crowd movement, street closures, staging by police
Sends real-time updates through Signal, Briar, or secure radio systems
Flags signs of kettling or crowd control escalation
Utilize handheld transceivers ("HT")/handheld radios ("Walkie Talkie") or Prepaid cellphones with encrypted messaging apps and encrypted VOIP to communicate with organizing teams in the crowd.
2.) Direction & Movement Teams
Goal: prevent mass arrest via entrapment
On-the-ground teams to scout ahead and identify traps (dead ends, underpasses, bridge bottlenecks)
Quietly redirect crowds as needed; don't give intel/counter-intel a reason to zone in on any particular person or group; be strong but not a target
Teams blend in with the protest but use predefined signals to coordinate
If you have to break (leave and dart away) due to illegal, dangerous, or aggressive trap behavior by authorities, do so in small groups. Assign a scout or decoy to move in a different direction with deliberate speed to create the impression of urgency and redirect pursuit. After separating, attempt to re-establish communication in 15-minute intervals to reduce noise, avoid signal triangulation, and limit detection risk. Use low-visibility methods (predefined encrypted channels, burner devices, short-wave bursts) if possible.
3.) Documentation Teams
Record frontline police behavior: badge numbers, arrest techniques, excessive force
Operate from both within the crowd and elevated locations (windows, rooftops)
Footage is backed up live or regularly to offsite/secure storage
Purpose: create admissible evidence, not confrontation
4.) Legal Observation
Volunteer teams modeled after or trained by National Lawyers Guild observers
Stationed at likely points of tension (front lines, transport wagons)
Record identifying information on officers and arrestees
Maintain professional distance and neutrality
5.) Information Collection Teams
Gather voluntary protester IDs and emergency contacts for jail support
Log officer misconduct with timestamps, location, and unit info
Match scanner audio to observed events when possible
Prepare formal documentation post-protest
6.) Internal De-escalation Units
Monitor for behavior that gives police pretext for crackdown (property destruction, attempted arson, provocateurs)
Isolate and calm those individuals
Document suspicious agitators if needed
Priority: avoid PR collapse and legal justification for suppression
7.) Social Media Coordination
Designated accounts post verified updates, police positioning, arrest reports
Monitor and counter disinformation in real time
Preferably run by people off-site using VPNs and alt accounts
No central account—decentralized posting reduces vulnerability
8.) Movement
If you use public transportation pay with cash, use cash to buy metro/transport cards at a currency exchange (or similar location) or use a pre-paid RFID debit cards that allow them
If you use private transportation park away from protests to reduce harassment, potential theft/destruction, and to give yourself an reasonable exit.
9.) Response Unit (Healthcare, Hydration, Tactical Defense, De-escalation)
The Response Unit is tasked with frontline and midline support during moments of escalation, crowd distress, or chemical/impact deployment. These volunteers must remain calm, mobile, and trained. Equipment should be organized in marked bags or packs, easily accessible in chaotic conditions.
Healthcare & First Aid
Carry first aid kits with trauma pads, saline flush, gloves, and antiseptics
Identify medics visually (e.g., colored tape or marked vests) but avoid excessive attention
Triage in place when possible; move only if absolutely necessary
Volunteers should know how to treat blunt trauma, burns, sprains, and lacerations
Carry emergency contact forms for unconscious individuals (if pre-registered)
Affordable EM devices include Portable Blood Pressure Monitor Cuffs and Blood Glucose Monitoring Kits
Do not administer medication unless someone is a trained EMT or in a related field
Hydration
Distribute water regularly, especially in high-heat or long-march conditions
Keep backup water for emergency use (decontamination, eye flushes)
Tactical Response: Smoke, Gas, Impact
Carry water buckets or wide-mouth bottles to neutralize smoke canisters (if safe to do so)
Use thick gloves or tongs if attempting removal
Umbrellas can block gas and redirect airflow briefly; also break up visibility for snipers or drones; they can also bounce thrown smoke grenades or flashbangs, although those are usually ground-tossed
Protective eyewear, cloth masks, or soaked bandanas help but are not full protection against tear gas
Use saline or water+antacid (e.g., Maalox) 50/50 mix to flush eyes exposed to pepper spray
Never use oil-based lotions or creams pre-protest (they trap chemicals)
De-escalation & Crowd Calm
Trained volunteers move to calm panicked or agitated groups
Help direct people toward exits or safe zones without creating additional chaos
Watch for false alarms, planted agents, or compromised individuals
Quiet body language and clear, short commands work best ("Walk. Breathe. This way.")
Never escalate physical confrontation unless to prevent serious injury
Additional Tips:
Carry duplicates of essential tools in case of loss or theft
Avoid overpacking or overidentification with red/medical markings (can become targets)
Plan rendezvous points for regrouping post-escalation
Ensure units understand hand signals or light-code cues if verbal communication is compromised
Do not bring items that can harm both authorities and civilians (laser pointers, weapons, dangerous chemicals, etc) and do not bring items you are unsure of that would give authorities an excuse to attack (multitools, large flashlights that can be mistaken for a weapon, large bike-locks that could used a weapon, etc)
The Response Unit is not just reactive — it stabilizes the group, maintains morale, and ensures that no one is left behind when systems break down.
Notes:
Avoid bringing phones with biometrics or open apps if attending in person; use mesh networks or QR-based Signal groups if possible
Avoid bring phones at all if possible
All volunteers should know jail support procedures and have legal aid numbers memorized or written down
This model is not about optics. It’s about minimizing risk and maximizing accountability. Share, adapt, or operationalize as needed.

Ight. I'm trying something new. Ima put a story here cuz I frinking wrote it cuz I was board.
Warnings: Swears, PTSD? (kinda, idk) Mention of Death
K, so basically Vic see what Cho go through and questions his life choices :D
Have fun reading, or don't, idc
It had been a couple days since Chosen had been locked away in the box, or at least he thought it had been a couple days.
It was hard to tell when everyone was either too bright or plunged into darkness.
Chosen had talked to Orange, but he seemed a bit rattled at the revelation of his powers. Orange was rarely in his cell anymore, he was constantly brought away for testing or memory scans, which Chosen concluded has been going poorly due to Vic's frustrated yelling.
Chosen was sitting in his cell, he had been untied, but his powers stripped from him. Vic was pissed, nothing was working. Orange claimed he couldn't use his powers, but Vic thought he was lying. Chosen did too, but he was proud of Orange for standing his ground.
Vic threw the memory scanner at Chosen
Vic: Put it on.
Chosen: Why
Vic: Do I need to restrain you.
Chosen: Fine.. Fine.. whatever...
Chosen reluctantly put on the scanner. Chosen was used to this by now, Vic had done this multiple times, sifting through Chosens memories, but the farthest he went was.. that day. Chosen's biggest regret.
Chosen though for sure Vic was going to just leave that memory replaying, trying to get Chosen to crack, to tell him anything about Alan. But Chosen wouldn't, he didn't know why. Alan had been so cruel. He had locked him in a box for half of his life!? So why was Chosen protecting him?
It didn't matter right now. Victim signaled for Smith, or how Chosen called him, Tall lanky guy. To turn on the Projector.
Vic: I've actually given this thing an upgrade since the last time you've used it.
Chosen didn't care, he just wanted to get this over with.
Vic: Fine. Stay silent. Smith. All the way to the start.
What? The start? Did Vic really have that upgrade? It did make sense, but still. Wait- if they were going to the start then they would see-
Chosen: N- No
Vic: Aww, scared I'm finally going to find where that fucking cursor is? Too dam bad.
Chosen: Wait- please-
Vic: Shut up. You had your chance to talk.
No. If they went to the start they would see Chosen at his weakest. They would see him, useless, pathetic. A simple ball and chain reducing him from a god, to nothing. Forced to be a stupid add blocker.
Chosen: Wait-
Vic: I said shut up. Or do you want to be tied to a chair again?
Smith jumped to the start of Chosen's memories. Just as he was about to hit play Chosen ripped the headset off.
Vic: You REALLY don't want to do that. I am not in a good mood.
Chosen: T- Too bad! I- I ain't letting you watch my memories like it's a f- fucking movie!
Vic gestured for Smith to give him the rope.
Vic: You have 2 seconds to put that headset back on.
Vic. 1..
Chosen didn't move
Vic: Alright. This was your choice.
Vic and Chosen fought. Even without Chosen's powers, he was still able to hold his ground. At least until Vic got buffed by Smith.
Vic swiftly tied Chosen to a chair and put the headset back on him.
Vic: Now. Where were we.
Smith hit play.
Vic watched the screen. He watched as Chosen had looked around, but he wasn't in his body yet. It was like an out of body experience.Chosen spotted the word "Weapons" before being brought to life.
Chosen didn't know what was happening, he just knew he wasn't safe.
Vic stared up at the screen as he watched Chosen fight the cursor. The room was silent. Dead silent.
Vic watched more, he saw Chosen fight against the cursor, he watched as Chosen fought the apps that Vic didn't even knew existed. Vic was silently routing for Chosen, but he was captured.
Chosen: Turn it off..
Smith looked at Vic, who shook his head no.
Vic watched as Chosen was plunged into darkness. Until he fell onto a document, forced to be an addblocker.
Vic: Fast forward.
Smith started to skip until Chosen was plunged into darkness again. Smith kept skipping until they heard a blood curdling scream come from the projector.
Smith put it on normal speed and Vic watched as Chosen screamed and cried uselessly in the black void
Vic: Turn it off.
Smith quickly turned it off.
Vic remove the headset from Chosen's face, which was now stained with silent tears.
Chosen: Happy!?
Vic: I'm sorry.
Chosen: Fuck off.
Vic untied the ropes and left the room, but he left the lights on instead of turning them off like usual.
Chosen went to the corner closest to Orange's cell.
It was silent for a long while, until Orange spoke up.
Orange: Chosen?
Chosen: What..
Orange: W- was that-
Chosen: Yes.
Orange: Why- that- Alan- why would he-
Chosen: I don't know..
Orange:... I'm sorry...
Chosen: It's fine.
They sat silently for a while. Chosen still had the occasional tear run down his face. Orange was contemplating. That- that wasn't Alan, or at least wasn't the Alan he knew. But, Alan did kill his friends and tried to kill him. But that was in the past? Was Alan going to do something similar to him? Why did Alan do that? Was Chosen sure that was ACTUALLY Alan? He had so many questions.
Orange: Why are you protecting him?
Chosen: What?
Orange: Like, Alan- he- he did all that stuff to you.. right? Why didn't you just tell the guy where Alan was?
Chosen: Idk.. I- I really don't.
Silence. The silence was unbearable. Chosen was trying to push down anything from his past and trying to come up with a reason he was protecting Alan. Orange was stuck on how the person he lived with all those years. The person he considered to be a parental like figure, could do something so awful.
Meanwhile Vic was in his office, thinking.
Smith: Sir.. are you- are you okay?
Vic:
Smith: Sir?
Vic: I'm a fucking monster..
Smith: No- you're n-
Vic: Yes. I am. I've been fucking tormenting him. I've fucking made him suffer day in day out.
Smith: I- isn't that what you wanted?
Vic: Yes- but- I thought HE was working with HIM! FUCK! He's already- god- Did you not look at the dam screen!? Did you not hear the pain in his voice!?
Smith: Sir..
Vic: He just wanted to be free! He just wanted it to stop! He just wanted a god dam life!
Vic was starting to cry at this point

Anyone else think it’s kinda fucked up how most services for poor people require advanced technology. Like if you can’t afford basic necessities but don’t have a laptop that’s less than a few years old and runs the right browser, a printer/scanner/fax machine, a smartphone that lets you into a completely disfunctional app, and electronic access to every possible document that could ever possibly exist in relation to you, then you’re labeled as uncooperative

does she have a favourite child? if not, then what are her most favorite things / traits about each of her children?
nonnie i send u many kisses and affections bc this question is just WONDERFUL!
so she doesn't have a favourite child. like, naturally there are some kids who might receive more words of affirmation or hugs one day, or maybe their love languages are a little different, so from the perspective of an on-looker it could seem like aisling might, for example, ignore eli or tim a lot while helping victor and advik more. but it's also important to know that eli just has a very limited social battery, and tim's happy place is the kitchen, while victor likes to talk about his problems out loud and advik is an eight year old, so he just fires rapid questions 24/7 and aisling has no problem answering them.
basically, she loves all her kids the same, but she also knows their boundaries and limits and trusts them to tell her when they need to be alone or when they need to be around people, and that's also why she's very insistent on at least one family meal in the day. it's also why she loves how involved the diner squad is in the kids' lives, bc tina mightn't be willing to tell aisling something, but richard normally manages to get through to her, yk? it's not that there's not enough love, it's more that sometimes you need specific people, and aisling knows that tina prefers quiet company, so she gravitates towards richard.
on to the next part of your question, which i'm gonna leave beneath a read more!
starting with victor, she definitely loves how he processes things. he finds a lot of peace and quiet in his garden, and he likes being able to work out his own thoughts through his plants, which is the kind of self-awareness that doesn't come very often to teenagers, i think? so the fact that victor found this so helpful, and even contributes his crops to the diner and aisling's dishes, is a hugely admirable thing for aisling, who had no idea how to process her own thoughts and feelings until she was 21 and living in new york. she also absolutely thinks the world of how he's able to figure out when other people need the same kind of ease and tranquility. he won't show his garden to just anyone, but he knows when advik is agitated, or tina is meditating on the roof, that they need to lie low in the greenhouse for a bit while listening to jazz music.
eli is very similar in how he uses music and technology as mediums to work out his own thoughts and feelings, but he also loves being able to use technology to help others. when aisling reveals that she can't read or write, he's the one who helps her to learn how to use the speech to text apps, and he also uses a scanner app on her phone to translate printed documents into an audio recording, so if she receives a letter from any of the schools, she can take a photo and the phone will read the words to her. and it's that kind of thoughtful consideration, plus how smart and kind he is, that aisling loves to pieces.
(it's also worth mentioning that eli and victor are in the unique position of being the only foster kids who are the biological children of a member of the order of V. idk why it's worth mentioning, i just like to mention it IWSFAWJDFASHIADFJ)
next we have tina! aisling is almost killed by tina the first time they meet, and instead of fighting her she's like "u seem pretty unhappy about this, why don't u put the knife down and we'll get some adoption papers sussed out?". tina goes on to attend therapy, but she goes through six therapists in the space of two weeks before finding the right one for her, and it's a constant quality she has that aisling admires so much. tina doesn't give up when she has a goal in mind. she decides to take on a family tree project and finds her maternal grandparents in iowa, learning that they're her only surviving biological family left. she repeatedly cancels dates and parties to go to therapy bc as far as she's concerned, therapy is the priority. about six months after moving into aisling's apartment, she decides that she wants to learn mandarin, and she sticks at it. her perseverance and dedication are things that aisling loves, but it's also her ability to take on feedback and decide whether she can adjust reasonably to it.
fatin is actually a day older than tina, but because of the whole "stranded on an island" situation, they're both happy to let tina be the big sister. however, fatin is instrumental in getting advik to feel more at home and emerge from his shell. her confidence and honesty are qualities that aisling does love, but her favorite quality is fatin's compassion. she stops playing the cello when she moves in with them, but she begins to take up other hobbies that help her bond with her siblings. facial masks, DJing and cake decorating are just a few, and while fatin loves them, she confides in aisling that the real reason for these choices is that she can share them with the others; tina, eli and tim in particular. fatin also doesn't mind going to the zoo for the fifth time in a week, and she works hard on finding fun animal-related activities to share with advik.
elliott is a new kid who stemmed from a single thread, he's super smart, very eager to share that intelligence, and doesn't worry nearly as much about his social status or image as most fifteen year olds would. it's his easy-going sureness of self that aisling loves, but also the way that he conveys information to people without making them feel stupid; elliott also insisted on helping aisling learn the states off by heart, and helped her to study for the citizenship exam. her lack of education posed no problems for him. instead, he exhibited levels of patience and knowledge that far exceed most adults put together, and his quiet confidence keeps him safe from a myriad of attacks from insecure bullies.
advik is the youngest, but his passion and enthusiasm are a few of aisling's favorite traits in him. that and his earnest efforts to soothe troubled souls, both of family and of strangers. one time she brought in a wounded avenger and he made sure to give them a tiger band-aid and some lion crackers, while patting the back of their hand and tell them all the coolest things about their favorite animals.
tim is the quietest of her kids, and yet when he communicates, it's with careful decisiveness and a certainty that aisling admires greatly. in his more social moments, he likes to invite others to bake with him, in particular stanley, henri and rani. his ability to read people is remarkable, and every word and move he makes is only made when he's sure of himself. what others perceive as a withdrawn, indecisive, anxious boy, aisling sees for tim's refusal to operate on any terms beyond his own, and his wariness of new people is often due to his anxiousness to protect his new family from any threats, perceived or otherwise.
honestly, aisling loves them all equally, and she has more foster kids or unofficially adopted kids written by many amazing friends of mine, but i think i better save those for various other posts! tumblr has limits! but yeah, their differences and similarities are some of my favorite things to analyze, and their connections to each other and to outside forces. tysm for asking this my love!!!
