#dooku and anakin: hate at first sight

Oooh. About your parasitic extraction au? How do force sensitives live in the Mandalorian empire? Like you said conscripted, do they have a bastardization of Jedi culture? Are they enslaved? What is it like? Do canon characters live in the empire or in the Jedi Order in hiding? (I'm thinking Mace Windu, Depa Billiba, Plo Koon, and Ahsoka Tano mainly.) Also! Do other clones exist? Mainly the CCs. Wolffe, Fox and Bly lol
the mandalorian empire love having force sensitive warriors because they're extra strong and have superhuman reflexes so they do everything they can to get their hands on as many of them as they can
general practice is for young force sensitives to be 'adopted' by high-ranking mandalorian clans for training. if they're born into a less prominent mandalorian clan, maybe they can train their kid themself or they can surrender the kid. if the family is not a mandalorian family (e.g., one of the occupied worlds) they're supposed to surrender their force-sensitive child for training and this is considered an honorable thing to do. if they don't want to do that and try to get their child to the jedi order instead to save them from being conscripted for basically the rest of their life then usually their whole family gets killed and the child gets sent to a mandalorian clan as above (this happened to ahsoka and she hates the rebellion because she blames them for her family's death)
mandalorian jedi all wear collars which cannot be removed, and the collar denotes their rank. each mandalorian jedi is also assigned to a handler who is supposed to act as support and also is supposed to kill their jedi if they go off the rails (drink too much dark juice from all the murder and start killing everyone). a mandalorian's jedi armor specifically has an undefended back for this purpose. they're not *technically* enslaved because this is considered an honorable position and they get a lot of privileges but like. read between the lines here.
mandalorian jedi are basically all trained in combat and not so much in the psychic philosophical spiritual stuff because the mandalorians think that 'don't kill people' thing is for chumps and they burned down most of the jedi temple's libraries. they just don't know how to do the psychic stuff and most of the psychic stuff doesn't work very well when you don't teach them emotional regulation first. like a trial for all mandalorian jedi is that they get their kyber crystal and they're not promoted until they've killed enough people that it turns red. if that puts things into perspective.
anyways, the old jedi order is in hiding across the galaxy. they wear normal clothes and they got rid of the padawan braid because they don't want to be murdered on sight. instead of the braid, they use a set of prayer beads, which they carve and add beads to as they go through trials and visit different worlds, partially because prayer beads are really easy to dispose of in a hurry. they do have a base in dagobah though where they take care of and teach the youngest force sensitives.
re: who's who, there are a lot of canon characters on both sides. obi-wan, obviously, is one of the traditional jedi. he was mace's padawan when he got captured by jango. depa, plo koon, jocasta, yoda, and maul are all traditional jedi. obviously there are more, but those are the ones who get mentioned by name.
on the mandalorian side, we have ahsoka (whose handler is padme), anakin (whose handler was rex), qui-gon (who is dead), ventress (whose handler is isabet reau), dooku (whose handler is myles), quinlan (who is a spy trying to infiltrate the jedi order), also aayla and vokara che who kind of just briefly show up
the other clones mostly don't exist. I say mostly because when jango put in a clone order for two sons, kamino made three in case one of them didn't make it, but all three of them did make it and the third one is fox, who the kaminoans then put into the brainwashing factory to turn him into a brainwashed super soldier. and then when jango went back and asked for a new son because cody and rex disappointed him, they made three again and two made it. one of them is boba, and the other one I have named kiki. he is also put into the brainwashing factory.
which is all to say. being a jedi is rough as hell regardless of what side you're on.
ask me a question about parasitic extraction, the role reversal mandalorian empire au that I have

Burn the Breeze {Obi-Wan Kenobi}
Part One | Next Part
Summary: Modern Au where Obi-Wan (Ben) and Anakin are sheriffs that come to your small town to take down the corrupt rancher Dooku. Ben is Sheriff and Anakin is a deputy, same sort of master-padawan dynamic they have in AOTC
Pairing: Obi-Wan Kenobi x f!reader
Warnings: Wyoming (yes thats a warning), law enforcement, cattle, cursing
Word Count: 1.1k
A/N: I need a cowboy Obi fic so here it is. No idea how many parts it will be. Also pretending Ben is American because I have no idea how to explain how an Englishman became a sheriff in Wyoming. Heavily inspired by the show Longmire
The days were hot and long in Wyoming this time of year. The grasses were dry, painting the landscape a golden brown. How you loved to run through them with your arms stretched, soaking up the sun's rays. You thought you would never see a more beautiful sight, until you met him. His copper hair reflected the light in the most incredible way. You first noticed him wandering on the street in the town nearest to your farm with another taller, younger man. They looked lost and normally you weren’t one to go out of your way to help people. But something drew you to the two men. You couldn’t explain it. As you made your way towards them he turned around almost as if he had been expecting you. The shorter one tapped the other man on the shoulder and nodded at you, then they made their way towards you and met you in the middle.
“Hello” you smiled. “Are you guys lost?” you asked as if you had not immediately gotten lost in the older man's bright blue eyes.
The taller one responded no as the shorter one responded yes. You couldn’t help but laugh at the taller one’s look of annoyance. He was young, still had a boyish air about him.
“We are looking for the farmer’s market.”
You stood there confused for a moment, your town's farmers market was on Sundays, not Saturdays. “I’m sorry but there isn’t one here today, it’s tomorrow.” This made the younger one even more annoyed than he was, obviously not wanting to be here.
Quietly he snipped, “I told you”
“Oh, we must be mistaken then” the older one huffed, mostly towards the younger man.
“It’s alright, if you tell me what you were looking for I might be able to point you in the right direction.”
“Well we weren’t looking to purchase anything, just to talk to a man about his cattle”
“Okay… someone in particular or just anyone?” you questioned
The younger one finally spoke up, cutting out the bullshit “We’re looking for the man that owns the Three Triangles Ranch.”
You froze for a second. The Three Triangles Ranch was known to partake in some shady business. Even though you had only just met the two guys, you’d hate to see them end up working for a corrupt rancher. But they seemed bright enough to figure out for themselves what a bad man the head rancher Dooku was. He was known to sell underweight cattle and treat his employees harshly. Over the years people had tried to get the sheriff involved but he never seemed to care. He was more of a political figurehead than anything.
“Well I have no idea where he’s at at the moment. The ranch is about three miles north of here, but he doesn’t like visitors. You might have an easier time finding him at the bar down the road there later tonight.” You hoped that information was enough for them. You hardly knew what Dooku did as you tried not to interact with people like him. But you had seen him a time or two at the bar and knew that some of the crowd there would definitely know how to find him. The older one smiled at you and thanked you kindly. You couldn’t get over his voice. It was smooth like bourbon on ice. You were almost disappointed that the conversation was over. As they walked away you planned to go into the bar that night just on the off chance you would see the two men again. Not only were they attractive but now you were invested in why they wanted to go see Dooku. You hoped that they wouldn’t get involved in his shady dealings.
You took a deep breath before you walked in, not quite sure if you should go up to the men if you saw them. However you didn’t have to worry, you didn’t see them as you made your way to your favorite barstool in the corner where you had a view of the whole room. You decided to stay for a few drinks and see if they showed up, maybe ask the bartender Rex if he had seen the two out of towners. If not you would cut your losses and go home. Rex said he hadn’t seen men that looked the way you described, an average height man with hair that looked like the golden straw that was growing on your farm, and another a bit taller with dark hair who seemed quite aloof. So you sat, drank and waited.
Halfway through your second drink you saw them out of the corner of your eye. They both removed their cowboy hats as you looked down at your glass and felt the blush rising to your cheeks. No surprise they walked over to Rex, bartenders always know everything. Finally you looked up, you knew if they hadn’t spotted you by now they would in a few moments. Just as you predicted the dark haired young man looked in your direction, but to your surprise he gave you a smile. He had been quite annoyed earlier but now it looked like he almost was having fun. At this point you decided to stay seated, let the men and Rex finish their conversation. But before you knew it another parishioner at the bar had made his way behind the taller man with fists raised and within milliseconds your new friends had the man on the ground. Everyone automatically froze.
The taller man stood up flashing a star badge, “Sherrif’s business” was all he said. That's when it clicked. They were after Dooku, finally someone was going to do something about it. They started to drag the man out of the bar and you knew you’d have to leave quick if you wanted another chance to talk to them. So you threw a 20 and a 5 on the counter, enough to cover your drinks and a tip and then you ran out the door. Across the road the two men stood watching the attempted assailant walking away. This was your chance.
Once you got up to them you said “I knew you guys were cops, ain’t nobody wandering around looking for Dooku like that.”
“No I guess not, next time we won’t try to start a bar fight before we get information.” All three of you laughed.
You offered your hand as you said your name.
“Sheriff Kenobi” the older one smiled, “And this is Deputy Skywalker”

OFF WE GO ❤️‍🔥
We are thrilled with the submissions and we’ll be posting them anonymously in batches in the upcoming days!
Here’s the first round of AO3 works, together with our heartfelt THANK YOU 🙏🏻
Little reminder for all the artists: don’t forget to tag us so we can promote your work here as well!
• (✦థ ェ థ) by Anonymous (comic screenplay)
Reverse Master Padawan AU
Darth Vader is in need of an apprentice. His former Master and the Emperor pressuring him to raise a new generation of powerful Sith.
But it's not only him that seeks Vader's attention. An initiate, a young student, asks him to become his teacher.
Obi-Wan Kenobi has great potential. He is cunning, strong, fine swordsman and a very talented little boy. Most of Sith are very eager to snatch him, but Obi-Wan refuses them all because he wants Vader.
DW: Obi-Wan being a model student, basically your Ferus Olin from the Jedi Quest, but also very star-struck by Vader, who he adores. Bonus points if you can write the impending doom of apprentice killing their Master at the end as something both Vader and Kenobi contemplate.
Bonus bonus points if you can make it sort of Obi-Wan trying to seduce Vader in hopes that if they'll sleep together, Vader would be more receptive to taking him as an aprentice.
• Even if I Fall, I'll Protect You by Anonymous (comic art)
Qui-Gon dies but Obi-Wan doesn't get to train Anakin, he is given to another Master. Years pass and without the help of taking care of his young charge Obi-Wan is not dealing well with his grief and emotions.
So when during a mission to investigate Kamino he is approached by his grandmaster Dooku, there isn't much holding him in the Jedi Order.
What Obi-Wan doesn't know is that young Anakin harboured a massive crush for him and now will do anything to bring his beloved Obi back to him.
DW: Anakin being obsessed over Obi-Wan, finding ways to seek him out and confront him, getting angry and jealous when Kenobi fights or flirts with other Jedi. Obi-Wan secretly trying to protect the boy from Sidious grand plan.
DNW: Infidelity. Obi-Wan or Anakin openly engaging in any sexual or romantic activity with someone else (past mentions of flings are fine).
• will you give in to me? by Anonymous
Sith Suitless Vader and Jedi Padawan Obi-Wan in a fuck or die situation. Padawan Obi is reluctant, Vader is impatient. Things get heated. Obi starts enjoying it too
DW: Smut, Bottom Obi, Top Ani, Non-Con Elements, Angst, bittersweet or happy ending,
DNW: Top Obi-Wan, Bottom Anakin, Scat or waterworks, bad or ending, Obi or Ani hating each other, anidala
• Look of Ruined Desperation by Anonymous
Emperor Obi-Wan loves to attend meetings in his office, with his dear husband warming his cock.
Don't want: rape/non-con, others participating in the obikin sex, open relationship, unhappy ending, unhappy relationship, watersport, scat, emeto, pet play, age play
• by the fires of the sun by Anonymous
Jedi Anakin (any era is fine!) is in the clubs of Coruscant looking for a no-strings-attached one night stand to take the edge off before he leaves for a mission that could take months. It's in the clubs that he meets "Ben" and it's lust at first sight.
For Obi-Wan, what started as him luring a Jedi into his bed in order to try and sneak information out of him, quickly turns into a obsession with Anakin and a need to make him his forever.
Bonus points for infidelity where Anakin is sneaking around behind Padmé's back by seeking a one night stand with someone else.
DW: NSFW (prefer top!Obi for this, but either dynamic is fine), dominant!Obi, Anakin being enamored enough that he ignores/misses a ton of red flags about Obi-Wan being a Sith
DNW: Obianidala, piss, scat, vomit, mpreg, heavy pet play, major character death
• you'll never know, dear by Anonymous
Yoda doesn't send Obi-Wan to deal with Vader on Mustafar.
Instead he sends someone else and they return with the news that Skywalker is dead. Obi-Wan is inconsolable.
It feels like the half of him has perished, his heart withered and died. His soul darkened.
He falls into a deep depression, before slowly starting to blame everything and everyone for the death of his beloved boy, the light of his life.
He iz convinced that had he gone to Mustafar, he could've talked Anakin back to the light. Which causes him to Fall in the end, driven by desire for revenge.
He starts haunting down Inquisitors and occasional Jedi who cross his path in his attempts to get to Sidious and kill him for what he did to his boy.
DW: Obi-Wan being extremely distraught, almost catatonic before he spirals. It's up to you whether Vader lives or indeed dies at the end.
DNW: Palpatine killing Obi-Wan.
• They won't know Mustafar by Anonymous
-Do you remember this moment, Vader? Just 9 days before your discovery.
-How to forget it Darth Ben
Obi-Wan and Anakin find two people identical to them, apparently they are from another galaxy.
• Disintegration by Anonymous
ROTS AU where Obi-Wan Falls instead of Anakin
• i've done dark things (in these shadows) by Anonymous
Obi-Wan as a Sith apprentice of Dooku and is Dooku's chosen heir but seeing as Dooku is just from a part from an external branch from the Bane line of Sith, his line of Sith Lordship isn't well liked or favored by either the wide known Sith Empire or Sidious himself (the current Sith emperor).
Because of this, Dooku cautions his apprentice to hide his talent so others will not know their plan to overthrow Palpatine, so they can usurp the throne and establish Obi-Wan as the new Emperor.
Palpatine's chosen is Anakin and the moment Anakin and Obi-Wan meet, Anakin knew he wanted Obi-Wan for himself, cue dangerous flirting game and Obi-Wan trying to navigate having both Anakin and Palpatine's attention on his back.
DW: Bottom Obi-Wan Kenobi, Top Anakin Skywalker, Kinks of all kinds, Gore, dead Dove, it doesn't matter, anything goes.
DNW: Top Obi-Wan Kenobi, Bottom Anakin Skywalker, Major Character Death (Only Anakin and Obi-Wan, if others, it's fine idc)
• I would burn the stars to protect you by Anonymous
Whump with sith Obi-Wan + jedi anakin.
They haven't known each other for long but actually long enough for them both to develop feelings to each other despite their differences. The context on how they meet is up to you. It can be because of a mission the council assigned to Anakin, but yeah you decide.
One day Anakin gets seriously injured by one of Lord Kenobi's inquisitors. Obi-Wan goes feral and fully in protective boyfriend mode (The guilty inquisitor is immediately killed of course).
DW: The more angsty and whumpie the better!, Blood loss injury
DNW: major character's death (it can be temporary tho), smut
• A song to keep us warm by Anonymous
Dyad AU.
Obi-Wan Kenobi was renounced by Qui-Gon Jinn after the battle on Naboo and had chosen to leave the Order.
Anakin gets to be Qui-Gon's new padawan instead.
Years later, Obi-Wan resurfaces again, on the battle of Geonosis, as a Sith Lord.
Shortly after that Anakin begins to have visions of him, the Force somehow connecting them and Anakin is forced to confront the man who might have been his older brother his friend but now turned his enemy.
DW: Sort of Reylo Force connection vibes, with Anakin being angry and guarded, while Obi-Wan is curious and calm. Maybe they slowly learning about each other.
DNW: Major Character Death, Unhappy Ending, Anidala (could be in passing but ultimately obikin is the soulmate endgame)
• i'll help you fall down with me by Anonymous
Rako Hardeen Arc (or a similar style mission), but rather than faking his death, Obi-Wan fakes a fall to the Dark Side for the mission. In his distress, Anakin falls (for real) and follows after his Master to find and rejoin with him.
DWs: Angst, Established relationship for obikin, Dubcon or noncon when Vaderkin finds out Obi-Wan was faking his fall
DNWs: piss, scat, vomit, mpreg, heavy pet play, major character death
• 'eat your young' by Anonymous
Sith Lord Kenobi and his acolyte Skywalker have a grueling training session.
DW: sexual tension, sweaty bodies, bloody sparring relationship might be established or not.
DNW: go crazy! no limits

Clone Wars - Rising Malevolence
Gonna try to get this whole little three parter done tonight.
This is one I was REALLY looking forward to because when I watched it the first time I had no idea what was going on but I did know that I liked Plo Koon. Well now I ADORE Plo Koon and know more about what the fuck's going on and who Wolffe is so I am excited to see how the episodes hit with that knowledge.
And boy is it getting me more already. LITTLE 'SOKA <3 Plo is just wholesome vibes personified AND I love his look, I want nothing more than to treasure him.
As soon as Anakin says he'll need to ask the council about reinforcements you know the answer is going to be No Sorry. Like, anytime the line is about asking for permission they never seem to actually GET permission. What gets me though is that we have a whole entry speech about how super important it is to find the weapon that's destroying all the ships, then we go into a meeting about how important it is to find the weapon that's destroying all the ships, but when Anakin says they have Plo's last location and then he was attacked they suddenly can't spare any ships for a rescue mission?
LIKE GUYS, PLEASE, HE FOUND THE WEAPON. HE FOUND THE THING YOU WANTED. YOU JUST SAID YOU CAN'T LOSE ANYMORE SHIPS TO THIS THING AND YOU NOW KNOW WHERE IT IS. But suddenly you can't spare ships for it? You idiots? Like, even if they think there really are no survivors, you now know what system it's in and could regroup to take it out, anything other than just going WELP WHAT CAN YOU DO and ignoring it?
I of course also hate the whole not even looking for survivors thing, but that's just my continuous gripe with the lack of value placed on individual lives by Jedi protocol.
Back in the Plo Pod though, I genuinely forgot that Wolffe didn't have his damaged eye yet, so the whole opening I thought he was just some other random clone, whoops. Doesn't help that he's not in armor. Boost and Sinker though I recognize on sight. God bless alternate hair styles, even if the bacon strips look a little silly and Sinker's rocking that Crosshair lego hair look.
I think that Plo Koon's line here - "I value your life more than finding that weapon" - is what really made me think it was worth paying attention to this series on the first watch. It's both incredibly touching on his part, extending care to clones that haven't really received it before, and kind of sad because he still is certain someone is coming for them. And they are, but not because of the Jedi council, who was going to just leave all of them for dead. If Anakin didn't 'redeploy' himself then they would have just died out there without anyone even trying to save them and I just! Hate that for them!
I'm always stuck on the 'non-attachment' point with the Jedi I know, but this episode is just a really good example of it. They don't even consider searching for survivors they just go ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and move on immediately. That's not being able to let things go that's just not caring if their allies live or die and the writers keep tripping themselves into that and then go tsk-tsk at Anakin for his attachment problems when he's the only one that's interested in saving lives here. Just ridiculous choices.
On a better note, this episode has some killer horror beats in the debris field, though, like the pod circling around slowly to reveal the dead clone troopers inside. We know that Dooku ordered them all killed, but we don't get to see the how until that second, it's just a nice little moment for Creepy Vibes that contrast with comedy moments like Sinker's deadpan 'HOW are we going to make things worse?' while fixing the power.
Then crash directly into the hope spot of finding another pod just in time to hear them dying in addition to watching it happen! Nightmare material, I appreciate it.
AND THEN THERE GOES PLO KOON, CASUALLY JUST. GOING OUT INTO THE VACUUM OF SPACE. Yeeting Sinker around with the force to take out the droids. Insane choice of solution, I love it. This episode was fun the first time but it's definitely more fun knowing who everyone is.
"Sergeant, why are you so certain no one is coming?" "We're just clones sir. We're meant to be expendable." "Not to me."
THIS EXCHANGE. THIS EXCHANGE GETS ME EVERY TIME. And Plo finding out that it's literally just him and these three clones that survived I'm CRY. He fought so hard for his last three men. I love Master Plo Koon, I love Master Plo Koon!!!
I'll be real this was the episode I remembered most so I don't know shit about what's coming in the next two, but we will find out! On we watch!

Obi-Wan strode along the corridor of Y/N’s apartment in a cheerful mood. The sky outside was dusky but brightened by the lights of numerous buildings in Coruscant and speeders.
Keying the pass code at the door, a happy smile was spreading on his lips as he saw she slept at the dining table. All of his favourite foods had been set ready, all of them were turning cold.
“Hello there, Y/N.”
He whispered next to her ear. She jumped. Panicking, she grabbed a spatula near her hand, almost hit him on the face, but he was quick enough to catch it.
“What takes you so long?” She pulled it back, tilting her head.
“Just a few problems about reporting at the high Council.”
He disrobed his brown coat and hung it on a metal hanger, while she walked to the small kitchen - bringing cups and herbal tea.
“I was afraid that you might be in danger, since you contacted me hours ago. I… I…” She put them down on the table, biting a lip, “... I thought you were wounded or worse… and I do not dare to ask anyone at Jedi Temple. Anakin and Ahsoka are assigned to another mission, this afternoon…”
Y/N blurted out with a cracking voice, trying not to cry, and broke down.
“But I am here, my darling.” Obi-Wan took her hand in his. The warmth ran through skins. He caressed her cheek and gently tugged her lock behind her ear. “Do not fret.”
Y/N leaned, hugging him, buried her face in his chest. She trusted him enough to let him read and feel her mind most of the times, unless she denied him blatantly.
“You are the General now. Those separatists could kill you anytime and anywhere. What if Dooku has successfully come up with the scheme to lure you to death? Could one confide all the ways in war-times?”
She gazed up, staring at Obi-Wan’s face. That was full of tiredness from endless missions and duties.
“I love you so much, Obi-Wan. I hate it every time you are away, though you are one of the outstanding and skilful Jedi Masters.”
Obi-Wan’s eyes were softened by her confession, which he had never found in her mind before.
“My dear Y/N, I do love you too.” He moved her closer, “if you are afraid that I will not come back, then listen to me; I promise you. I will try to keep returning to your embrace. Maybe with some scratches, wounds - but definitely alive.”
Y/N sighed and lightly laughed, partly because of his smoothly soothing voice and his tender touches, also because of his sass.
They stood there for a minute until Y/N murmured indistinctly and delightfully.
“Welcome back, my love.”
Obi-Wan loosened his grip, kissing her forehead.
“Rest, shower, or do whatever makes you relax. I am going to warm these foods.”
Her relieved smile caused him to smile, too. He sipped tea, watched her working around the kitchen. The sight was a pleasant scenario to behold. When the wars ended, he wished he could come back to her and stayed like this forever.

First Note: At the start of a prologue; this scene took place in a Star wars Obsession comic issue #5.
-----Prologue------

"Finish her."

The command was spoken with cold authority, and the Magna droid wasted no time in obeying. A blaster shot rang out through the air, finding its mark in Ventress's chest. As she fell to the ground, her ocean eyes fixated towards the sky, resentment coursing through her veins. She was betrayed by her Master, Count Dooku, left to die in the hands of Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Asajj lay motionless on the grass, her body growing weaker by the second. Despite her countless attempts to exact vengeance upon the Stewjon Jedi, a familiar face shielded her view of the departing shuttle. Obi-Wan's compassion and leniency disgusted her, yet there was a flicker of hope in her heart as he cradled her head.

Obi-Wan kneeled beside her, offering false reassurances of impending medics, but they both knew it was too late. Blood stained her lips as she coughed weakly, wiping it away with a smirk. She saw his pity fade, replaced by sorrow, as he held her hand. A rarity in the galaxy, she thought, to find kindness in the most unexpected places.

With blurred vision, Asajj mustered the strength to speak. "The pity is gone from your eyes," she muttered, acknowledging the sadness reflected in his apprentice's gaze as well. Obi-Wan wiped away her tears, and she allowed it, knowing her time was running out.

"Yes...I know you'll be one with the Force soon, finally at peace," he replied, his voice heavy with sorrow.

Asajj tightened her grip on him, a moment of vulnerability showing through her hardened exterior. "Watch the center of the galaxy. It is the key to victory... Defend Coruscant from Dooku," she whispered. Obi-Wan nodded, understanding the weight of her final words.

"And here I thought you'd use your last breath to curse us," he snarked gently, trying to ease the heaviness of the moment.

Asajj frowned, her grip weakening within his hand. "Perhaps I have... Perhaps I just...hate Dooku more than I hate you... Or maybe..." Her voice trailed off, the light fading in her pale eyes.

"You were right about me all along," she managed to say, tears streaming down her cheeks. Obi-Wan watched with sadness as she drifted into unconsciousness.

"May the Force be with you, Asajj Ventress," he murmured softly, an acknowledgment of the battles she had fought and the pain she had endured. Anakin placed a hand on Obi-Wan's shoulder, offering silent support.

As the medical frigate finally arrived, it was clear that Asajj Ventress...

Was finally at peace.

As she found herself drifting in and out of consciousness. Time seemed to lose its grip on her as she floated in a realm between dreams and reality. She could vaguely hear voices discussing her fate, debating whether she should even be alive.

"The orders are clear, take her out," a voice said, its tone filled with cold determination. It was a chilling reminder that her life was in the hands of others, and they held the power to snuff it out without a second thought.

She felt a jolt soon after, as if her body was being moved. The sensation was hazy and distant, like the flicker of a dying candle. The two shadowy figures she had seen earlier watched her passively, their purpose still unknown to her. As the ship she was on moved farther into space, it became nothing but a speck in her line of sight.

—--
As her eyelids fell, her breathing remained steady, a rhythmic lullaby in the quiet of her mind. She drifted further into a serene slumber, her senses attuned to the gentle whispers of the cosmos. Amidst the darkness, she found solace, as if floating weightlessly among the stars.

Unbeknownst to her, the ship carrying her continued its journey towards an unknown destination. Her body remained in a state of peaceful repose, unaffected by the turbulence of the outside world. The voyage held a mysterious purpose, one that only time would reveal.

—--

Moments later, her dreams were interrupted by a sudden jolt, snapping her momentarily out of her blissful haze. The gentle rocking motion and the low hum of the ship indicated a landing was imminent. Yet, she remained in a state of suspended animation, her consciousness lingering between realms.

A warning blared through the ship's speakers, its message muffled and distant.
[ Warning….Landing….is...Eminent.]
She heard the collision, the impact vibrating through her slumbering form. Despite the chaos around her, she found comfort in the realm of dreams, her breathing the only constant in her tranquil universe.

-------------------------

Confusion etched itself across her face as her eyes fluttered open. The unfamiliar surroundings and mysterious circumstances stirred her from her deep slumber. She tried to gather her thoughts, her mind groggy and her senses dulled.

"What's… going on?" she muttered, her voice raspy and weak.

With a surge of remaining strength, she pushed through the haze and forced her eyes to focus. The sight before her was disorienting. She found herself in a small, enclosed space with a single round window. Panic infected her as she noticed something skittering outside, casting shadows on the glass. Fear and curiosity intertwined, fueled by her confusion.

"Where am I?" she questioned aloud, her voice trembling.

Memories from before her slumber began to resurface, fragmented and hazy. She vaguely recalled walking the streets of New York City, but the details were blurred, the moments blacked out.

Her gaze fell to her attire. What she wore was completely unfamiliar to her. Tight-fitted leather clothes and breeches clung to her figure, accentuating her body in a way that felt both foreign and uncomfortable.

"What the hell am I wearing?" she whispered, the harsh raspy tone of her voice betraying her exhaustion.

A sense of urgency overtook her, and she quickly unstrapped herself from the safety harness, rising to her feet. However, the increasing migraines pulsating through her head threatened to overwhelm her, causing her to stumble. Instinctively, she reached a hand to her now clean-shaven head, a realization striking her with disbelief.

"Mirror. I need a mirror," she muttered, searching desperately for a glimpse of her reflection.

There was nothing in the confined space except for a single round window at the front, drawing her attention. Intrigued and hopeful, she eagerly approached it, hoping it would solve the mystery of her current condition.

As she caught sight of her reflection in the window, her hand flew to cover her mouth in shock. The face staring back at her was not her own. Distinctive ocean-colored eyes met her gaze, framed by pale, chalky skin. Six lavender tattoos adorned her face, their knife-like shapes a stark contrast to her plump lips. Confusion and recognition battled within her, a faint whisper from the depths of her being hinting at a familiar connection to this woman she saw before her.

"Who the hell are you?"

Before she could process the strange reflection any further, a sudden crash against the window shattered the fragile silence. With a shriek of horror, Asajj stumbled back, landing hard on her backside. A grotesque creature with menacing mandibles desperately tried to break through the glass, its intentions clear.
Her screams pierced the air as the monstrous creature pressed against the glass, its mandibles clawing and scraping, desperate to break through. Her eyes widened in terror as she watched it scan her compartment from the outside, its bulbous form twisted and grotesque. The sight of such an enormous spider-like creature filled her with dread and disbelief. This was far from normal.

Frozen in fear, she could only watch as the creature sprayed a corrosive substance onto the alloy, its intention to breach her fragile sanctuary. A chill ran down her spine as the acid melted through the metal, creating a hole for the arachnid to enter. Panic overcame her as she stumbled backward, her heart racing in her chest.

"Use the Force," a voice echoed in the depths of her mind, surprising her and momentarily distracting her from the impending danger.

The creature's jaws tore through the walls on either side, its aggression evident as it pinned her with its beady eyes. It hisses loudly, ready to devour her as its prey.

Summoning her courage, she heeded the voice's advice. With an intense focus, she pushed against the creature, using the Force to repel it. In a flash, she expelled her energy, propelling the spider-like beast out of the compartment. She gasped in disbelief, staring at her trembling hands, unable to comprehend her newfound ability.

Her heart still pounding, she quickly scrambled out of the ruptured entrance, reveling in the sensation of fresh air filling her lungs. As she took in her surroundings, she realized she was far from home. "Where am I?"

A swirling red mist enveloped the area, distorting her vision. Crooked trees stood like sentinels, and the starless sky sent shivers down her spine.

Questions swirled in her mind, but one prevailed:

---I did that?!
She watched with a mix of satisfaction and unease as the giant arachnid writhed in agony, entangled in the spindly branches of the crooked trees. Blood, tainted with venom, oozed from its wounds, staining the surrounding foliage. The creature's clawed hand flailed in desperation, a testament to its pain.

Suddenly, a loud creak resonated through the air. Her eyes widened as she realized the pod of her ship was slowly sinking. Without a moment's hesitation, she leaped from the vessel and into the murky water, creating a loud splash.

She resurfaced, gasping for air and struggling to stay afloat. Her arms flailed and her lungs burned as she fought her way to the surface, finally sputtering onto the nearest supporting log. She clung to it, allowing her breathing to steady as she surveyed her surroundings.

The pod sank deeper into the swirling abyss below, bubbles rising to mark its descent. Asajj knew she had to find a way out of this perilous situation. With no clear path in sight and a dangerous swamp lying before her, she felt a surge of frustration.

Silently groaning, she hatched a plan. Carefully, she submerged herself once again, moving stealthily through the water, and slipped into the lush foliage, hiding herself from any potential threats lurking in the distance.

"Great, just great," she muttered to herself, her annoyance seeping into her voice.
///
Cold and weary, Asajj emerged from the surface of the water, dragging herself onto solid ground. Exhausted, she flopped down on the field, rolled over, and took a moment to catch her breath. Looking up at the sky, void of any stars, she couldn't help but feel a sense of displacement.

Her gaze was drawn to a colossal planet reclining amidst the crimson atmosphere. The sight alone was enough to astonish her, and she buried her head in the damp ground, her leathered clothing sticking to her skin uncomfortably. The earthy scent filled her nostrils as she let out a faint sigh.

However, the nagging thought of her presence in this unfamiliar world persisted, plaguing her mind.

---How did I get here?
Confusion gnawed at her, but she resolved not to dwell on the unknown.

Instead, completely unaware of her surroundings, her eyes widening in panic as a spear was pointed directly at her. Her gaze met the piercing stare of a man with honey-yellow skin adorned in intricate black tattoos. The spear trembled dangerously in his hands, its tip aimed at her.

"Wait! Wait! D-don't kill me, please," She pleaded, her voice trembling. She never imagined that she would encounter the natives of this unknown planet. But what caught her attention most was the man's crown of horns, adding an air of mystique to his appearance. She stumbled back until her back pressed against a nearby crooked tree.

Her heart raced as the man glared at her, his brow furrowing in concentration. He continued to point the spear menacingly until, suddenly, recognition dawned upon him, and he lowered himself onto one knee, bowing in submission.

"Night Sister," he said, his voice filled with panic.

Asajj's jaw hung open in bewilderment, struggling to process the man's words. Night Sisters? What on earth was he talking about?

"Night sisters?" she muttered incredulously, barely registering her own words. "What in the nine hells is a Night sister?"

Briefly pausing, she blinked dumbfoundedly, her mind racing with confusion.

"Wait. Night sisters?" she exclaimed, her voice rising in disbelief.

Her outburst elicited a startled gasp, which she quickly stifled with her palm.

—Hell, no.

"I'm a…Night sister?"

The man looked up at her, fear glimmering in his molasses eyes.

He confirmed her suspicions with a hesitant nod.

"Uhm..." Asajj nervously scanned her surroundings, then returned her gaze to the man. "Where am I exactly?"

"You're on the far side of the Goldolan region," he replied.

She shook her head, her confusion deepening. "No, no, no. What I mean is, what planet did I come from?"

His tattooed brows furrowed in puzzlement. "Pardon?"

Rubbing the back of her neck, she took a deep breath, attempting to compose herself. "I'm sorry, I'm not really from around here. What's your name?"

He inhaled sharply, his eyes avoiding direct contact. "Goran."

"Goran," she repeated, letting the name roll off her tongue. "Hey, uhm, Goran? Do you know what the name of this planet is? The thing is..." Asajj clenched her fists to calm her mounting anxiety. "My pod ship crash-landed in this... swamp. I don't know where exactly I'm supposed to go. Can you help me?"

Goran nodded sheepishly, rising to his feet. "You're on Dathomir."

Asajj's eyes widened in disbelief.
—Holy cow! I'm really inside the fictional universe!
She let out a squeak of disbelief upon hearing the name of the planet, Dathomir. Goran looked at her with a raised eyebrow, clearly perplexed by her reaction. She quickly cleared her throat, trying to compose herself.

"Dathomir. That's... woah," she muttered, her eyes searching vacantly.

Goran tilted his head skeptically. "Woah?"

Realizing her slip-up, she quickly shook her head. "Nothing, just nothing." She wrapped her arms around her chest, feeling a sudden wave of confusion and uncertainty.

"Are you alright, sister?" Goran asked, his voice laced with concern.

"Don't call me that," She scowled, noting how Goran flinched at her sharp tone. Her shoulders sagging in realization. "I'm sorry. I'm just... confused. And lost."

Goran frowned, contemplating the situation as he grabbed his spear. "Do you want me to escort you to the Night Sisters' clan? There's a village up ahead. The road may be treacherous, but if you take the cave, it's an easier route. They may be able to help you with your troubles."

"No!" Her voice startled Goran again. "I-I can't go there. Can I go with you instead?" She locked her eyes onto the Dathomirian man, desperate for an alternative.

Goran seemed taken aback by the request, searching for a solution to help her. "I... but sister-"

She interrupted him, grabbing his hand. " Please . I just need somewhere else, and you're the only person I could... you know, trust?"

Concern etched onto Goran's tattooed features as he looked away, deep in thought. He adjusted the collar of his outer tunic, straightening his shoulders before finally giving his response.

"Come with me." He extended his hand towards her. "But first, may I know the woman I'm speaking to?"

She swallowed nervously and shrugged her arms. "Julia."

"No. Your real name," Goran insisted firmly.

She furrowed her brows, confused by his request. "That's my real name."

His lips pressed into a tight line, but the determination in his eyes softened. Slowly, Julia gently touched his hand.

"I will take you to my village, on the far side. My brothers may expect visitors from a Night sister, but if you're looking for sanctuary, they are willing to accommodate you, and the trials they are willing to commit to whoever mate you choose." Goran said pensively.

Julia's reaction halted abruptly. "Tri-trials? No!" Goran gave her a bewildered glare in response.

Her voice held a hint of panic. "I'm not looking for a mate, just... no trials, please. Like I said, I need somewhere else."

Goran breathed out a sigh of relief, choosing not to pursue the matter. "Alright. Follow me." And so, Julia began to follow the broad man through the forest, the thick layer of fog adding an eerie atmosphere. She clung to his hand for a sense of safety.

"Quickly, the creatures of the forest are active, so be aware of your surroundings," Goran warned in a low tone.

Julia nodded ambivalently, realizing that he seemed to know his way around this eerie place. She trusted him and ventured onward, following the winding road.

"It's strange that you don't even remember the birthplace of your people," Goran remarked in a low voice.

Before Julia could respond, Goran's attention abruptly perked up. Both of them found themselves enveloped in a haze that obscured their vision, preventing them from seeing anything ahead.

Hey, remember that Clone Wars thing I was doing? Let's get back to that. THE BOX
Still really funny that THIS is where I stopped, mid-Obi-Wan arc
Narrator!Yularen, once again, is saying Rah-ko where Eval says Ray-ko
>Obi-Wan copying Bane's butch shoulder-shove past Eval
lol
I actually like Obi-Wan's chest armor here, the fur lining and all. Cute look, very low-level D&D armor. I've seen some people argue that this is a Mando outfit but he's really lacking the distinct T-visor; he just has a horizontal visor
(once again, it is so fucking funny that Mandalorians are literally wearing range targets)
Anakin is actually...quite calm, confronting Yoda about all this? He's clearly unhappy, but his first concern is Obi-Wan's safety. Wtf, fanfic led me to believe he was berserk through all this
...anyone else ever have that moment where you realize that you don't dislike a character, you just hate the fanon version of that character? Sometimes I wonder if even some supposed fans actually like Anakin Skywalker, given as they write him like a whiny brat instead of a complicated adult
--was that a salarian doing a handstand? (Twazzi?)
Bane: I require P E R F E C T H A T
Heyyy, it's Embo!
Dooku says something about a bounty hunter's standing "last season"--wait, hold on, there are seasons?
Hardeen is introduced as 'the marksman of Concord Dawn,' which I guess is where the Mando assumptions come from, but with the other bounty hunters a lot of their titles seem to come from jobs, not origins (ie pink dude being the butcher of whereever)
Is this the first canon appearance of a Selkath outside KOTOR?
Weeqay lady also hot
I have to ask why an assassin filter is testing them without their weapons
Dooku says Rah-ko
I like how Bane has gone from slapping away Obi-Wan's hand to "go!" within the space of two minutes
Looks like there's 8 now, lost 3 in the lightsaber room
I really have to ask who tf would take this job? "I'm gonna murder you at the end" was the conditions for 42% of the applicants. Why would the best bounty hunters in the galaxy take a job that has a 42% chance of killing them by sheer luck when they could take literally any other job that doesn't do that? I know, I know, money/arrogance/plot, but still
Obi-Wan speaks Parwan and whatever language Embo speaks in here
Down to 6
Idk why Dooku thinks the Box ain't doing its job. It's down to 6, and he expected it to be down to 5
Obi-Wan being able to hit those targets--alright, that looks like maybe 25 yards? 35? So the impressive part here is in how quickly he acquires his target picture; he's not shooting at an exceptional distance (especially since he's not using iron sights), but he is taking very little time to aim
There's still recoil on laser sniper rifles, which is very unfortunate (...also a sniper rifle with a scope is pretty excessive for such close range). I can't imagine dealing with that without a cheek well--it'd just be smashing into the helmet every time and you'd lose your stance. Horrible
...god I ship this so goddamn hard. I mean, I already did just from hearing about this ep, but goddamn. I need to reread the Idiot's Array now
...but seriously why is Eval even so salty, this is literally what the Box was designed to do--cut the team down to five dudes
Ok that wallrun was pretty sick
What do the other bounty hunters even think about this whole situation. "So like...am I good? Did I win?" What's it like when you're not a main character
Dooku: -tells Obi-Wan to kill Eval-
Dooku's next line: Eval is the one who knows the plan
Good succeeds because evil is fucking stupid
I intended to make one post per arc, but I actually hit the text limit here so the next ep is another post.

I'm just so very enamored with the idea of Dooku als Obi-Wans Master at the moment. There are so many possibilities, I'm going crazy. I love your writing style and your ideas, so I would be so very happy to know your thoughts about this.
At first, I was going to say “oh, is this a nice AU where taking Obi-Wan as his padawan makes Dooku stay in the Order and the whole lineage is happier?” but then I thought, ‘wait, no, I’m only here to make a dramatic tragedy out of everything’ and I got really into it and wrote 2k about it 🤷‍♀️
So let’s say that Qui-Gon still takes Obi-Wan as his padawan first, and that’s how he meets his grandmaster, Dooku, who’s still a Jedi at this point in time.
Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan aren’t a good match at first, and it’s the same, even a bit worse than that, in this AU: Obi-Wan might be grateful to have been chosen and be eager to learn, but their rocky start as a master and padawan duo and their very different approach to, well, basically everything, make things a bit awkward.
But Dooku? Obi-Wan adores Dooku.
Dooku is the antithesis of Qui-Gon; he is a fascinating orator, has a practical mind, favours a pragmatic approach to problems, and is also one of the best duellists in the Temple. And he’s almost certain that Dooku likes him too. His grandmaster might be intimidating at first (he’s even taller than master Jinn for Force’s sake,) but he also raised Qui-Gon, so the man has seen it all and can’t be surprised by anything anymore. When he comes to visit Qui-Gon, Dooku never forgets to ask Obi-Wan how his training is going, what form he likes the best (Obi-Wan doesn’t miss the opportunity to say that he finds Makashi particularly elegant and almost gets a smile in return) and one day, he even ends up helping him write a geopolitical paper about a planet Dooku has spent almost a year on. It warms Obi-Wan to feel a connection to their lineage when he doesn’t really understand his own master, and watching Dooku and Qui-Gon, two very different personalities, getting along so well, also gives him hope that he will one day have the same type of relationship with his master.
But then, Melida/Daan happens.
Obi-Wan decides to stay, and Qui-Gon leaves the planet with one less padawan. It takes a bit of time before Dooku manages to get Qui-Gon to talk about what happened and where is his favourite grandpadawan, but when he realises that Qui-Gon left Obi-Wan in a warzone, Dooku is outraged, and is on Melida/Daan three days later to formally ask Obi-Wan to reconsider leaving the Order. It takes a bit of time before Obi-Wan truly starts thinking about it, because “Master Jinn will never take me back. I’m very sorry, Master Dooku, but he was the only one who was willing to take me as his padawan. No one else will, especially now.” and Dooku scoffs, because he wouldn’t travel to the outer rim for anyone, and of course he’s planning to personally train him. He saw the potential in him, and would hate to see it go to waste. All of this if Obi-Wan can assure him that he won’t rebel at every opportunity, of course, because he won’t accept the betrayal of his trust.
They both leave the planet together, as Master and Padawan.
The next few months are... strenuous. Adapting to Dooku’s teaching methods is harder than Obi-Wan expected. His new master asks for discipline, practicality and complete control of oneself at all time, and doesn’t accept any nonsenses. It’s not something Obi-Wan really knows how to do after months with Qui-Gon “don’t think, just do” Jinn. There is also a new distance between Dooku and Qui-Gon that Obi-Wan knows is his fault, but can’t do much about it; he still hasn’t said more than two words to Qui-Gon since Melida/Daan (apologies that his master- former master accepted with a cordial bow and that was it) and is in no hurry to change that.
Nevertheless, Obi-Wan is happy. Dooku might be a bit snobbish, makes imperious demands and even disagrees with the Council just like his former padawan, but he also explains to Obi-Wan why his decisions and insistence on certain parts of his training are necessary, doesn’t shy away from philosophical questions about the Force or the Order (even if his opinion is sometimes bordering on blasphemy,) and is, after all, one of the most skilled Master in the Temple. He might be a severe figure of authority to everyone else, but his hidden smile at a witty remark from his padawan, or the use of a diplomatic loophole to get his way without having to ignite his lightsaber, always gets him a gentle hand on his shoulder and an almost-satisfied smile. It’s more than enough for him.
And then, Qui-Gon brings Anakin Skywalker to the Temple.
Obi-Wan tries not to think too much about the rumours that say that he went all the way to the outer rim to get himself a new padawan. A padawan he chose this time. A padawan who’s the Chosen One.
“Ridiculous,” Master Dooku scorns, his expression so dismissive that the few gossipy padawans (and knights!) around scatter in a second. “I saw the boy, and if this raggedy child is the Chosen One who’s supposed to save us all, we should all start building our own funeral pyre to save us some time.”
“Master, really,” Obi-Wan sighs, half-reprimand, half-amusement. He’s still glad his master shares his distaste with the idea of taking a child too old and too attached.
And then, Qui-Gon Jinn almost dies on Naboo.
The other Jedi that went with him doesn’t have the same luck. Dooku doesn’t huff and roll his eyes this time. He does spend a lot of time in the Halls of Healing at his former padawan’s bed. Apparently, Qui-Gon has been badly hurt, and if he should walk again soon, probably with a walking stick, he will never be able to maintain enough stamina to fight with a lightsaber again. It doesn’t stop him from wanting to train the boy, and even the Council and Dooku, for once on the same side, aren’t enough to dissuade him.
And then, everything goes too fast.
Obi-Wan is talking about possible hidden Sith in the galaxy at the breakfast table, and suddenly Dooku says “I’m leaving the Order”, and then he’s knighted by a master who tells him he’s glad his last accomplishment as a Jedi is something he’s proud of, and then his master leaves without a real explanation, and then they make a bust of him in the library like he’s dead, and Obi-Wan asks himself if he’s going to feel abandoned all his life.
And then, Anakin Skywalker bumps into him.
“You’re Obi-Wan!” he says way too loudly, looking up at him in wonder.
It’s Knight Kenobi to you, a voice that sounds suspiciously like his master echoes in his mind. But no matter how much Obi-Wan admires his master, he could never be as rigid as him.
“Master Qui-Gon said you were his padawan once,” Anakin says, excited, and Obi-Wan has never wanted to run from a conversation that badly before. “And that you were... the padawan of my... grandmaster? I think? So that means we’re sort of like cousins, right?”
“Not really, no. Jedi don’t think about the Order as a traditional family. I don’t mean that we’re not one, young one,” he adds when Anakin’s expression turns to dejection, “we just have a different approach to kinship. In a way, we’re all brothers and sisters.”
And that, of course, is the exact thing he shouldn't have said.
“So you’re my brother then? Wizard! I’ve never had a brother before! Does that mean you will spar with me? I want to learn EVERYTHING about lightsabers, for example, do they have unlimited energy? Can it really go through everything? Because I heard beskar—”
Obi-Wan isn’t proud to say that he feels the urgent need to get away from him and never come in contact with that child ever again.
But after their first encounter, Anakin doesn’t leave him any choice. Every time Obi-Wan gets some time off, the padawan is here, scarily good at annoying him until Obi-Wan gives up pretending to ignore him.
He probably should be sterner with him. After all, he doesn’t own the child anything. But Anakin is always so happy to see him, impressed when Obi-Wan demonstrates the most acrobatic of Ataru’s movements, and eager to learn from him. Sometimes, he imagines Master Dooku’s face confronted with Anakin, and can’t help but laugh out loud.  It helps to forget the void Dooku left in his life for a time.
(There aren’t a lot of holos sent to him from Serenno these days. Dooku must be busy.)
“My master can’t fight,” Anakin says petulantly one day, plopping down on Obi-Wan’s couch like the sulky teenager he is, “He’s restricted to the Temple or boring political missions, and so am I because of him. All he does is tell me to meditate and make me ‘reflect on my feelings’, or whatever that means. How good can a master be if he can’t teach me to protect myself and others?”
“Anakin,” Obi-Wan warns, kicking the padawan’s feet away from the caf table, “please tell me you didn’t say these exact insensitive words to your master right before slamming the door and coming here.”
Of course he did, Obi-Wan thinks when Anakin starts a rant about being held back and how stupid meditation is. That night, Obi-Wan forces him to sincerely apologise to his master after a brief fight ("stop nagging at me, Obi-Wan! You’re not my master!” “Well, apparently, you don’t even respect your own master, so I’m very glad I’m not.”) and is just a bit stunned when he finds Qui-Gon Jinn on his doorstep a few days letter, asking him if he would agree to take Padawan Skywalker on his next off-world mission.
Obi-Wan really, really wants to say no. He only taught Anakin a few Ataru moves that the lightsaber’s instructor normally doesn’t introduce until a few years later because Anakin wouldn’t accept a no from him, he never signed up to co-parent a defiant padawan! Especially Qui-Gon’s padawan. The entire conversation between them is already awkward enough.
“I don’t think it’s a good idea.”
“No?” Qui-Gon replies, sipping his tea like they’re discussing the weather. “You’ve done a good job at teaching him some rationality and a few duelling tricks until now. I haven’t been able to wield a lightsaber for a while now, but it’s hard to miss the handprint of my own master all over Anakin’s sudden blend of Ataru and Makashi in his movements.” Obi-Wan is pretty sure his ears and his face are burning by now. “Don’t you think he could benefit from some real experience? Maybe start to put things in perspective? Show him why the diplomatic skills and temperance we preach are so important even for the violent or difficult conflicts we’re asked to solve?”
And really, what is he supposed to say to that?
Qui-Gon leaves his quarters before he manages to gather the courage to ask why he chose him of all knights for this task. It really doesn’t make any sense to Obi-Wan.
The very next day, Anakin shows up at the hangar bay ready to see the stars, bag on his shoulder and enough excitement to make the whole ship vibrate under his feet.
“If you cause problems on purpose, I’ll send you back to your master faster than you can say pod-racing.”
“I promise I won’t, Knight Kenobi,” Anakin replies, all angelic smile and respectful padawan face. It’s the first time Anakin has called him by his title, and somehow it sounds a bit wrong.
Anakin does end up causing problems on purpose. It’s ridiculous but also kind of genius, so Obi-Wan only shakes his head and says “you’re really going to be the death of me.”
And for some years, it works. Qui-Gon stays Anakin’s master, but he does send him to learn from other masters and knights. More and more, though, Anakin asks for Obi-Wan, and Qui-Gon rarely refuses.
“You two are the last people I thought would get along,” Mace Windu tells them a few successful missions later, after witnessing them bantering back and forth from their respective beds in the Halls of Healing. “Nonetheless, I’m glad you do. It’s good to see close lineages strengthening their bond to each other.”
Anakin blinks so many time at the compliment that Obi-Wan doesn’t hesitate a second before throwing his pillow at his face the second Windu leaves the room.
It’s a shame that Obi-Wan never manages to ask Qui-Gon about why he trusted him with his padawan.
Because Qui-Gon dies on Geonosis.
He shouldn’t have been there, Obi-Wan and Anakin keep saying. But they both know that you can’t stop Qui-Gon Jinn to do what he wants. He shouldn’t have gone to Kamino by himself, he shouldn’t have followed the bounty hunter to Geonosis, He shouldn’t have been in this arena, he shouldn’t have been killed before the help has come. He shouldn’t have died right in front of his former master— because of his former master.
Anakin’s master died that day, but when Obi-Wan saw Master Dooku ordering the attack on the Jedi, he felt like he was losing two masters at the same time.
Now there is a war coming, and the Council is talking about Master Dooku being a Sith, and he should stop saying Master Dooku, he knows, and people are asking how good can a Jedi be when raised by a traitor, and Yoda is talking to him about knighting Anakin and what he thinks about it like he’s his master now, and Anakin refuses to talk to him, and that probably has to do with the fact that he lost an arm and a father-figure to Obi-Wan’s master, and Obi-Wan would like to sleep for an entire year now, thank you very much.

Another Star Wars AU, TBN*
*To-Be-Named
I love time travel. A lot. So here is a time-travel au, with the CW trio.
Somehow, perhaps by touching a Sith artifact, perhaps by the Force deciding they should, perhaps from some sort of weird ritual the locals were performing that the trio didn't know about, Obi-Wan, Ahsoka, Anakin, Rex, and Cody travel aback in time.
[Please keep in mind that Canon Timeline has died tragically in a fire, and I am but the weeping widow with an inheritance.]
Due to whatever happened, they all also end up (technically) deaging. They still have their memories and their knowledge and skills, just stuck in smaller bodies. They can think and act like adults, but they also have to struggle a bit more to implement Older Skills in Younger Bodies.
Ahsoka is 2. She's nubby. She's emotional. She's tired and sore from her deaging.
She wakes up in someone's office. She's in a spinny chair, a big one with leather padding. It's kind-of chilly in the room.
She's not thinking, because all her brain is putting together is that she's still tired. She grabs the jacket off the back of the chair and pulls it over herself. She goes back to sleep.
Rex and Cody wake up together.
They are their actual age, which is to say they're both about eleven.
They find themselves on Mandalore. In the more wild areas.
(let me believe that there are parts of the planet that aren't covered in city)
(also, this is the Mandalore in the cartoons)
They find a teen trying to wake them both up. Rex has absolutely no clue what's going on. Cody has a vague idea, because this girl looks very similar to a picture he once saw...
Obi-Wan does not fare as well. He is 3.
He wakes up in someone's arms. He's just as tired and sore as the other three. However, he's also got more awareness because he's in someone's arms.
He looks up to see who's carrying him.
He looks around at the people walking with them.
He starts crying. He cannot help this, as he is suddenly flooded with Emotions, and he is Smol. Smol = harder to handle Emotions.
Because Qui-Gon is walking right next to him, tapping away on a holopad as they go. Dooku is on his other side, on a comm call where both parties sound very tired.
And Obi-Wan is being held... by Obi-Wan.
So, yeah, not that great for a suddenly Smol Obi.
Now, Anakin is 8, so he's better off in that perspective.
But he wakes up on some remote planet without anyone around. He just was in the middle of a group, so he ends up kinda panicking.
Then he hears something coming towards him, and he panics more.
He's Tiny! He's Smol! He's massively at a disadvantage against attacks! He can't fight off whatever is on a planet like this!
It's Mace (and Depa).
Anakin, however, doesn't realize this. He has gone Feral.
Back to the beginning
Jango Fett has been very busy w/Important Mand'alor Paperwork all day. He finally has time to go and relax a little, and he makes it all the way down to the exit before he realizes:
It is really cold outside. He is not in armor bc he was planning to only do paperwork today (though he still has many weapons). When one plans to stay in the same room for almost the entire day, one does not wear normal garb.
That said, he has no protection from the cold. He forgot his jacket upstairs. He rushes back up to his office.
He distinctly remembers that he left the jacket on the back of his chair, not on the seat.
He also is wondering what that lump is.
He arms himself, grabs some of his "emergency" armor plating, and walks over to the chair.
He lifts his jacket up, expecting a bomb or some paperwork that fell off the desk, or something logical.
He does not expect to find a tiny Togruta child clinging onto the fabric, whining as they're woken up by his yanking of the jacket.
Jango's brain stutters for a moment, then he kicks into action.
First things first, he wraps the jacket around the Togruta. They thankfully stay asleep. Then he turns up the heat, because he knows the office has gotten colder in the twenty minutes or so he's been gone, and Togruta are from warm temperate zones.
He decides to call, in this order, a guard who can help him watch the Togruta (they did break in, after all), a medic to check the Togruta’s health, and the first person he can find in his contacts that might know an adult Togruta.
Next group
Rex and Cody manage to get the teen to stop fussing over them for long enough to ask for her name.
Her, clearly lying, but that’s understandable: My name is Ine.
Cody, who knows exactly who this is now: Oh, kriff. You’re Duchess Satine, aren’t you? Kriff.
Rex: Wait, Satine? As in the General’s Satine?
Satine, now very suspicious and reaching for her stunner: I think you need proper medical attention.
Cody, looking down at their eleven-year-old selves: Yeah, I think so, too.
They agree on one thing, at least.
Next
Obi-Wan is crying. Loudly, uncontrollably, w/too many Emotions to even care that he’s supposed to be an adult rn.
Other Obi-Wan is very uncomfortable, bc he doesn’t know how to handle children too well.
They found this kid unconscious in the middle of a ruined, abandoned town.
Obi-Wan was meant to hold this kid while Qui-Gon did research and Master Dooku tried to convince the Council that it was entirely necessary to bring the kid back to Coruscant. Granted, they can still give the child to the locals at any time before they make it back to their ship, but apparently the Force is Being Loud.
The Force was Being Loud when it told Master Dooku to come along.
The Force was Being Loud when it led them to that town.
Qui-Gon and Dooku have argued fifteen and a half times on this mission, and an additional six times on the flight here. Obi-Wan is trying to mediate but also doesn’t want to overstep. The Force is Being Loud, sure, but the kid is also Force-sensitive so it might be something off that.
He didn’t argue with holding the kid bc he thought that it was better than being caught between the Masters.
Holding a crying child and trying to get two adults to stop arguing bc they can’t decide how to comfort the kid is not better.
Obi-Wan keeps walking past them to the ship with this baby. He does what he’s seen some crechemasters do to the younglings. The kid eventually calms a little, and he belatedly realizes that both Masters are still behind him, not with him.
NEXT
Anakin is panakin.
He is currently in a state of Feralness. His instincts have kicked into overdrive, full-on Survival Mode.
Depa and Mace do not know this. All they know is that there was suddenly an extremely powerful Force presence that started fading quickly (bc Anakin started shielding).
They burst into sight of Anakin and are suddenly attacked by all four feet and some of Feral Force Child.
It’s all they can do for a good minute or so to avoid losing their fingers, eyes, or untorn clothes.
Mace puts a few things together very quickly.
This planet is uninhabited by any sapient life. Therefore, this child is utterly alone. This child also is clearly strong in the Force, and knows how to hide their presence, for whatever reasons. Mace is a Jedi, and therefore is bound by certain duties.
He decides it is his Duty to get this kid back to Coruscant safely.
Back to the beginning
Ahsoka wakes up to find a familiar face looking down at her. She’s still tired, but not as much. She’s very aware of her size, and does a few quick observations.
She does not fully know who Jango Fett is. She does know that some clones run off bc they hate war and weren’t given a choice an- no. Not going down that path yet.
Ahsoka assumes, semi-incorrectly, that she was shrunk or deaged and somehow found by a rogue clone.
She knows it’s a rogue clone bc they’ve got weird armor.
So she does the logical thing and tries to comfort this clone bc he looks really worried and kinda panicked. She stands up on the spinny chair and tries to balance and he practically lunges to help her and she can’t help but giggle, but it comes out in a bunch of chirps instead.
The clone picks her up and looks really awkward so she pats his face bc that’s the best she can do bc she doesn’t want to disprove the fact she’s two yet.
For all she knows, this rogue clone has no idea she’s actually a Commander in the GAR.
He doesn’t, but for different reasons than she thinks.
NEXT
Rex and Cody go with Satine to the city. They have introduced themselves and said that they were separated from their aliit. They don't know where said aliit is.
Satine is highly suspicious by this point, bc these two kids recognized her with only part of her name, and they were alone, and they speak Basic with Mando'a thrown in.
Basically, she thinks that they're children of people like Death Watch, but she's too young to know that Death Watch isn't really into children.
Rex and Cody get checked over by a medic, but also start trying to get access to some working comms. They are refused on account of being suspicious children (which makes them a little upset bc they're not children)(Well, they are, but not those types of children)
They have not yet figured out that they are in the past, bc Cody and Rex only know that General Kenobi talks about Duchess Satine, and they know about Padme Amidala from General Skywalker, so clearly this Duchess is really young and the General simply viewed her as someone he wants to protect.
They are very very very wrong.
NEXT
Obi-Wan manages to calm himself somewhat now that it's just him and... him.
He is three, and he knows roughly what's happening, so he knows he should probably act like a 3yo.
Unfortunately, he has very little understanding of how child ages work. 3 is smart enough to go up the stairs and communicate with adults, but def. not old enough to speak sentences that are 15 words long with at least 2 5-syllable words.
Fortunately, his older (younger?) self doesn't know children either.
So when this 3yo starts telling him that he needs to leave the two Masters on the planet and head to Tatooine really fast, Obi-Wan is more concerned about the idea than the strangeness of "this is a 3yo suggesting this".
Obi-Wan is really good at convincing people. Including himself. He manages to get Padawan Kenobi to leave supplies where the ship is supposed to be and head towards Tatooine.
He says that the Masters will be fine, they know how to survive, and they need to be alone together in order to work through all the tension. Plus, it gives them plenty of time to talk to the Council.
Toddler Kenobi also tells himself that he'll take the blow and say he used a mind-trick.
Padawan Kenobi doesn't believe him yet, but Toddler Kenobi smiles like a very smug adult and says "you'll get there eventually". What he truly means is up in the air.
NEXT
Anakin, since waking up, knows much less than everyone else. Which is saying something.
He knows he's Smol. He knows he's Alone. He knows Someone has come and they are Strangers.
One thing about Anakin's instincts is that they are very much Survival Based. He was Feral when he joined the Jedi, only he had to hold those instincts back for most of his life bc of being a slave.
A slave cannot bite someone who approaches and Vibes Wrong.
By the time he felt okay with being Feral Out Loud, he also felt safe enough that he didn't need to activate his Survival Mode.
What I'm trying to say is that Anakin does not realize how strong his Feral Instincts are. He has absolutely no control over them rn.
When Mace decides to Help this child, this child is trying to Maul them.
Mace makes a small ruckus to draw Anakin's attention to him so Depa can move back. Depa pulls out her saber now that she won't hit the kid. The kid notices Purple and Bright and Lightsaber.
Lorge Jedi Mind says this is Good. Safe. Jedi.
Smol Feral Brain says this is Dangerous. Mean.
Anakin freezes on sight and just starts tracking Depa's saber. She does one of those things where a snake or something is focused and the person waves the fire or the food slowly to make sure the wolf is watching it and usually they toss the thing away so the snake follows it.
Mace instead takes this opportunity to wrap Anakin in his cloak. And Depa's cloak. And the spare ones in their bags.
Feral Child is not happy with this. Feral Child is also unable to scratch or Maul or do things other than bite and snarl.
Depa carries Feral Child while Mace comms the Temple and they walk back to their ship.
The Temple is having a field day.
First, one of their Shadows reports that a well-known bounty hunter got an emergency message from a pal of theirs that said Jango Fett needs help learning Togruta childcare.
Then they get a call from Dooku, which is not the mission report they wanted.
Yoda: Mission report, you have?
Dooku: Of a sort. We successfully spoke with the locals, then went to investigate a rather large disturbance.
Mundi: A disturbance?
Dooku: We found the source to be a Force-sensitive child.
Mundi: So you are here to ask for more time on the planet?
Dooku:...
Yoda: Bring the child back, you wish to?
Dooku, unapologetic: He is of an acceptable age to be admitted into the Temple, and no other beings were around at the time to entertain the idea of there being guardians.
The Council is sighing and muttering bc this is a Disaster Lineage (and they haven't even met the other two yet). Their call is interrupted by the sound of crying and Dooku saying the child's woken up.
Then there's another Shadow who sends a message saying a set of twins that seem like Death Watch were found by the heir of Clan Kryze.
Finally, to top everything off, they get a call from Mace Windu and Depa Billaba. Two very dignified, not-at-all chaotic Jedi from a perfectly respectable lineage.
Yeah, most of the Council and the Order itself forgets that Yoda had a hand in raising Windu. Yoda "Feral Grandpa" who throws children at every problem. Grandson isn't doing too well? Throw a child his way. Other grandchild is struggling to cope with grief? Throw another child their way. Oh, there's a war going on and newest grandchild is angry a lot? Here's a child!
The entire lineage has a soft spot for children.
Anyways...
Mace: Our mission was a success. We found the artifact and both specimens.
Koth: How long until your return?
Mace:...
Yoda: Found a child, you did?
Gallia: Master Yoda, that's a rather illogical guess. Once is unusual, twice is-
Mace: Oh, did Qui-Gon find a child as well?
Yoda, smugly: Bringing the child back, are you?
Depa, from the background, after a rather loud snarl is heard: We do not bite things, young one.
*more snarling*
Mace: We have no reason to believe he was not alone.
Tiin: *deep sighing*
Mundi: *mild confusion noises*
Koon, eagerly: Please send photos of this youngling. For the archives, of course.
Mace, nodding sagely: Of course.
*extremely loud yowl* *sounds of Mace turning*
Mace: DEPA!
Depa: He nearly bit off my finger!
Mace: That doesn’t mean you pinch him!
Depa: What else am I supposed to do?!
*sudden exclamation filled solely of Mando’a, Huttese and Twi’leki curses*
Mace: So, I don’t know if he speaks Basic, but Master Che should be able to talk him through a check-up.
Yeah, several Council members are experiencing headaches now. Normally, they would have some empathy for Mace and his own stress-induced migraines. They currently do not.
Right after that call, Dooku calls back to say that Obi-Wan has left without them.
Mundi: He left the child with you, right?
Dooku:
Mundi: He left the child with you, right?
Obi-Wan did not leave himself with the Masters. Obi-Wan has listened to Mini-Obi and is off on some wild space adventure to a criminal-run planet.
The toddler won’t stop staring at him. He asks for a name. The kid says to call him Ben.
OW: Is that your name?
“Ben”: It is a name I am called :)
OW: That isn’t what I meant.
“Ben”: I know :)
Ben also keeps staring at OW’s lightsaber. OW decides to make sure the kid doesn’t start playing with it when he isn’t looking.
MEANWHILE
Ahsoka has figured out that she was really very oh-so wrong. She’s on Mandalore. As in, the Mandalore that is under Jango Fett. Bc she’s with Jango Fett. He’s holding her hand bc she was nervous about the strange looking medic (who was just wearing armor, but not clone armor and civies don’t wear armor.)
Ahsoka knows very little about Jango Fett. Clone Buir, Mandalorian leader, tried to kill Master Kenobi. Also dead.
He asks how she got in. She shrugs. She is too small to fight back so she can’t let him know anything. Whatever everything is right now. But also, he doesn’t seem mean or evil or anything.
Oh yeah. Skyguy said that Mandos love children. That's why the clones were so protective of her, even with Skyguy on her side of the argument.
She decides to use this to her advantage. She can probably get herself a comm, and enough time to call the Temple. If she can convince them she at least knows a Jedi, then they can come get her and she'll work from there.
ELSEWHERE
Rex and Cody are getting really upset. This Duchess is really nice, but she's acting really weird and keeps insisting she's not actually called Duchess. No one will give them a comm, they keep getting weird looks for speaking Mando'a even though they're on Mandalore, and Satine's father keeps mentioning a Fett. Maybe Boba's set a bad example again.
Rex starts to fall asleep, to his chagrin. He's too bored, sitting and getting some abnormally extensive check-up. Cody is fine, but he's used to the calm that is General Kenobi. Rex usually has a Togruta teen in the vents and a Human that is never where he's supposed to be.
Rex does, in fact, fall asleep. His "twin" starts glaring when a doctor goes to wake him up. Cody makes it clear that his brother is like Cat: once asleep, you do not wake.
Satine is giggling, but trying not to let the others hear. Cody does. Cody looks at her. They have a stare-off.
Cody goes back to glaring at the doctors. He will not admit to any emotions besides Protect™.
BACK TO
Obi-Wan and Ben have made it to Tatooine.

Fic Idea Masterlist
Who He Is – Qui-Gon Jinn, right before the Naboo mission, is tossed forward in time where he meets a young Togruta padawan right off the coast of a battle. As she brings him to the base to meet with the High General, he talks a bit about his own padawan. (Time Travel)
Bending Jedi – The Jedi can bend the four main elements they have been keeping these specific abilities hidden away from the populous when they can, as people tend to fear them with what they can already do, the discovery of bending in Jedi would breed more distrust and fear. But the war has made that too difficult, as the Jedi are desperate to protect, and the clones are the first to discover the Jedi’s abilities, more than what they were told in their training. (Bending Jedi Avatar-Style)
Together Twins – An attack on Polis Massa forces Obi-Wan Kenobi to flee with both Luke and Leia Skywalker.
Chances – Trading their silence and obedience for the clones’ freedom at the end of the war, the Jedi find themselves nearly shunned and hated with the intense anti-Jedi sentiments that run rampant due to Palpatine’s influence. The clones refuse to accept this.
Order & Academy – After being rejected by Qui-Gon Jinn, initiate Obi-Wan Kenobi finds himself forward in time during that of the height of Luke Skywalker’s Jedi Academy. (Time Travel)
Third Systems Unprepared – During the explosion where he received his iconic scar, Commander Cody’s chip was knocked around to the point of disuse. When the Chancellor calls on Utapau to Execute Order 66, Cody has no idea what it means, therefore unable to send the orders to the rest of the 212th Attack Battalion and much of the Open Circle Fleet. It changes a lot.
Reverse Psychometry – After coming back from his stint with the Dark Side, Quinlan Vos spends some time with Obi-Wan Kenobi and touches his cloak with an ungloved hand. Instead of his psychometry giving him flashes of the past, he’s fairly certain it gives him a flash of the future. One where Obi-Wan’s grief is overwhelming, everyone is dead, and Anakin Skywalker burns without his limbs. (Reverse psychometry)
Kamino Investigation – Instead of chasing Jango Fett off Kamino, Obi-Wan Kenobi stays on planet, giving the tracker to another nearby knight, while he investigates the clones and the events surrounding them.
Space Survival – An explosion goes off on the Negotiator, which is in low orbit over the Republic world for repairs. Obi-Wan Kenobi is aboard and holding as much of the ship together as he can for the evacuation of the wounded.
Bracca Detour – Upon an accidental detour to Bracca after being sent to Tatooine for exile with Luke, Obi-Wan Kenobi finds Cal Kestis.
Lothal AU – Owen Lar’s disbelief and mistrust of Obi-Wan chases him away and the Jedi leaves with Luke (or Leia), eventually finding himself on Lothal where he befriends the Bridgers.
Bit Age Swap – Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker has no intention on taking a padawan just as the war is starting, despite being a knight for nearing a decade until his master, Mace Windu, comes to him with an orphaned padawan, Obi-Wan Kenobi, whose Master died on Geonosis and is determined to fight in this war, whether the Order likes it or not. Skywalker quickly discovers there is more to padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi than first meets the eye. (Smidge of Age-Swapping)
Din Djarin Au – With the Sith and Separatists defeated, Obi-Wan Kenobi and the 212th are finishing the last of the battles against the droids and stubborn Separatist leaders. It is on a planet, during one of these battles, where the droids are invading a city, that General Kenobi rescues newly orphaned and force-sensitive Din Djarin.
Stay Out of it – Obi-Wan and the 212thare in bound to Coruscant for a few days’ rest, refuel and new orders when Anakin and Padme’s marriage comes to light. And then, Obi-Wan can’t get back to the front quick enough.
This is Different – Coming back from Melida-Daan has proven more difficult than anticipated for Obi-Wan Kenobi and it only gets worse when he wakes up, decades later, only to be found – and accepted – by a monstrous Sith Lord, who seems to have some odd soft spot for him. (Time Travel)
Lineage Reconnection – Obi-Wan brings it upon himself to contact Qui-Gon’s lineage and friends to inform them of the news of his death. Yoda does what he does best and meddles. At least, it appears this time, it worked for the better of everyone involved.
Back with Hope – Obi-Wan Kenobi, a while after Order 66 finds himself back in time, reliving events. He doesn’t entirely know where to start with changing things until something changes for him. The Jedi receive a call from an unknown source – it is tiny clone children calling for their only hope – Obi-Wan Kenobi. (Time Travel)
Undying – It is on Bandomeer when Obi-Wan Kenobi and Qui-Gon Jinn discover that the former cannot die, and it is used to their advantage. Obi-Wan keeps his secret, even after Qui-Gon’s death, until he can’t anymore. It is the revelation of the Chosen One prophecy that his purpose is revealed – as a Guardian, Obi-Wan Kenobi cannot die until the Chosen One has brought balance to the Force.
Lineage Last – Anakin and Ahsoka both leave the Jedi Order after she is accused – and proven innocent – and although Obi-Wan understands, the fact that he they left, and he is the last of his lineage doesn’t hurt any less.
Amor – Obi-Wan has been to war before; no one needed to convince him to wear at least some armor. Now how much, that is a different story.
Canon Switch – Anakin Style – After saying something he would come to regret; Anakin Skywalker finds himself in a universe where Obi-Wan had died on Naboo... and Qui-Gon had lived. It is not nearly as he dreamed it would be. (Alternate Universe – Canon Divergence – Time Travel)
Canon Switch – QuiGon Style – A heartbroken Qui-Gon survived Naboo while his padawan did not. Barely surviving for the next ten years, Qui-Gon finds himself in a universe where the opposite is true. (Time Travel)
Dooku Set Up – Tired of Palpatine’s schemes, Count Dooku thinks of defecting when the master Sith Lord is killed. Someone is setting him up and Dooku reaches out to the only person he desperately hopes can help - his grand padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Extra Weird Jedi – The Jedi end up being different than the clones had expected. More odd, dangerous, intriguing. The Kaminoans had told them one thing, the populace’s view of the Jedi. But up close, working with them? It’s so much different.
Baby Counselor – Obi-Wan Kenobi is the youngest member of the Council and is known a bit as the Council baby – at least with other masters – and those on it, are not afraid to treat him that way. It just a tad changes things.
Crechemaster Obi-Wan – When the war comes to an end, Obi-Wan Kenobi decides to become a creche master while Anakin and Padme expect their first child. But when the Senator dies of a cause that is no one’s fault, Anakin is left bereft and leaves his children behind. Obi-Wan takes Luke and Leia into his creche clan.
To be Chosen – Jedi Luke Skywalker is thrown back in time to that where the Order still exists. Finding he cannot go back; he constructs a new life and home into the Temple. Several years later, even though Master Yoda tries to keep a specific initiate away from his sight, Luke encounters him anyways and thinks, perhaps he and Obi-Wan were linked, always meant to be. Perhaps it was Luke’s turn to give back to his master. To be Chosen. (Time Travel)
Kamino Defense – Peace is restored after the war, although the work isn’t done. In response to the controversy surrounding his padawans marriage to Senator Amidala, Obi-Wan accepts a post to protect the clones and their young from power hungry warlords and greedy businessmen on Kamino while the Senate debates what to do with them.
Burned Deep – A thousand years ago, the Jedi chained themselves to the Senate and Republic and dismantled their military as a show of good faith. Now the Senate controls the Jed strictly to keep them from taking over. The Temple becomes a beautiful cage, their stringent parameters for missions a leash. In this world, when the war begins, Jedi are let loose as more of attack dogs than Generals. (Alternate Universe – Canon History Divergence)
Jumping Ages – In an attempt to use what she thinks is a Sith weapon, Ventress just ends up causing some chaos for Obi-Wan and the crew as he ends up popping in at different ages and stages of his life over the course of an unknown amount of time. The only one who doesn’t seem to be rattled is Cody. (De-Aging/Age Regression)
Padme Lives – After surviving Order 66, Padme is forced to hide away with her children, leaving Obi-Wan free to find surviving Jedi and learn about the clones’ predicament.
We Are Burning Stars - Instead of on a faraway planet, fighting the last battles of the war, Obi-Wan Kenobi is walking aside his Commander in the Jedi Temple when Order 66 hits.
Revolving Suns - Raised by Obi-Wan Kenobi, teenaged Luke Skywalker finds himself back into the Clone Wars while General Kenobi falls into an unexplainable coma.

Tumblr media
Exhausted and plagued by a painful sting pulling through your whole body, you slowly flutter your eyes open which turns out to be difficult at first due to the bright light. Your limbs feel sore and incredibly weak, you can hardly feel your arms anymore and an uncomfortable tingling sensation runs through your legs. Your head is extremely heavy and the world around you rotates, getting faster in each second that passes and thus disenables your ability to think clearly.
Still blinded by the light, you narrow your eyes to at least be able to see something and as you do, your breath gets stuck in your lungs right away. Your gaze is directed at a black steel door with red and white switches and lights flashing on the right and on the left. A steel door which most likely allows no escape.
"Sir. The Jedi is conscious again", you hear the mechanical voice of a droid and you turn your head in its direction to your right. You see two Battle Droids next to you, one of them now aiming his weapon at you alarmed, the other standing at a control field.
Only now do you notice that you are much taller than these droids and you quickly discover why. Surround by a bluish light, you float in the air, your wrists and ankles chained in stuncuffs, making you unable to move even a tiny bit. You helplessly hang in the air, the tight handcuffs already painfully straining your skin.
"Do not let her out of your sight until I get there", you suddenly hear another voice through the comlink one of the droids is holding. A voice that unmistakably belongs to none other than the Supreme Commander of the Separatist Droid Army General Grievous himself.
However, there was something else in the background. Something that made your breath get stuck in your throat again.
Screams. Full of pain and suffer that can only be produced by incredible agony.
"Where should she even go?", one of the droids asks annoyed and gets hit on the back of his head by the other after his statement immediately.
"Don't ask, work."
Not saying a word, you try to shake your hands to maybe loosen the handcuffs a little, but to no avail.
"No chance, lady. You will not get out of here that easily", the Battle Droid laughs while the other joins in. Throwing them an angry look, they quickly stop and get back to their work, ignoring you.
Using the moment of silence to your advantage, you close your eyes and try to feel the Force that surrounds you so that it can guide you the way. Because of your severe headache you do not succeed, but you also do not give up instantly and at least try to concentrate enough to remember what exactly happened.
The terrifying image of a battlefield on Ryloth appears in your head, droids and clones brutally fighting each other. With your ignited lightsaber you run between them, giving the clones cover while taking down several Battle Droids and Droidekas with one slash of your elegant weapon.
"General Y/L/N! General Skywalker has just informed us that he has advanced further at the front and has almost reached Grievous", you hear Fives tell you in your blurred memories when you hide behind a tree to seek protection for the split of a second.
"Anakin", you softly breathe, not noticing that you said his name out loud, and your eyes shoot open when your memory cuts off all of a sudden.
All you remember is that you followed him after Fives' words, but you do not remember what happened after that and you do not know where Anakin is now or if he was even captured as well.
In any case, you are not allowed to think about it any further when the door in front of you opens and you are greeted with the shadow of a large robotic figure, two Magna Guards on either side of him.
"Grievous", you hiss disapprovingly when he comes up to you with slow, heavy steps, his face - if you can even call it that - at eye level with you. "I sould have guessed that only you would be able to carry out such primitive captures."
His smoky laugh sounds at your words, which is quickly interrupted by a subsequent cough. In the next second, however, he tightly grabs your neck with his mechanical hand all of a sudden and forces you to look into his fleshy eyes. The pressure on your throat causes tears to well up in your eyes.
"You have a very important piece of information that Count Dooku would love to have, General Y/L/N", he mentions and you try to hide that he is currently blocking your windpipe. "All methods are fine with me as long as I get what I want."
"And I suppose you will only let me go if I tell you this very important piece of information?", you state ironically and take a quick breath in as he releases his strong grip from you.
"That would make things much easier for both of us", Grievous agrees and looks at you intensely, almost expectantly. "Where do the Jedi keep the holocrons?"
"What do you want to do with it? Even if I told you, which I will definitely not do by the way, you could not open it anyway", you mockingly point out and raise an eyebrow.
A second later, you have to fight for air again.
"That is something you should not worry about", he aggressively snaps at you and squeezes his hand harder, making you gasp for air even more. "Tell me where they are kept."
"You could kill me and I would not tell you", you choke out and his creepy-looking eyes sparkle with anger.
"I will let it depend on that", Grievous states and lets go of you again, but with a subtle gesture he gives his Magna Guards a sign and they suddenly approach you, their dangerous electrostaffs now activated.
Shortly afterwards you already feel an incredibly terrible pain that makes you cry out loud. A painful electricity shoots through your entire body that would force you onto your knees if you were not currently chained to stuncuffs in the air. It only takes a few seconds, but it feels much longer until they stop their torture, staying in their position.
"Where. Are. The. Holocrons?", Grievous asks you again, this time more angry and somehow stressed, putting strong emphasis on each word.
"You would like to know, huh", you slightly grin and although you know that such a cheeky answer will cause you to suffer again, it rolls of your tongue anyway.
Again, several electric shocks run through you at the same time and an increasingly unbearable pain forms in your body, but your head remains unwavering when they stop again.
"Tell me where they are, Jedi scum! Now!", the merciless General shouts at you and you can sense how he is getting more and more impatient by each second. He will not stop torturing you until you tell him what he wants to know and until you stop holding it back, but you have sworn a vow to the Jedi Order that you can't and will not break, no matter how much pain you have to endure.
"I guess you have to kill me then, because I will never tell you, Grievous", you respond breathless and you can already smell how your skin, your flesh, has slightly charred because of the burns.
Giving his Magna Guards another command with a simple hand gesture, they continue to torture you, but this time they only shock you briefly with their bright purple electrostaffs before stopping abruptly. Your muscles still tremble from the impact and the unbearable ache persists.
"Uhm, Sir. I hate to interrupt you, but the other Jedi just managed to take down one of the droids", one of the droids next to you reports and you, although you only understood half of what he just said, too weak to focus, you immediately know who he must be talking about.
General Grievous must have already tried to squeeze something out of him, that is why you heard screams earlier.
"Anakin", you groan in pain as the Magna Guards go back to their task of torturing you out of nowhere and put you into a state of absolute pain.
"Interesting", you hear Grievous utter through your own screams as your body writhes in pain in the air, the handcuffs pressing deep into your skin. Until the pain suddenly fades and you fall to the hard ground in front of his feet the next moment when the droid freed you with the push of a button.
"Sir, is that not too risky?", one of the droids ask, but you can't even get up from the floor by yourself because you have been weakened so much by the electric shocks. You are not even sure anymore whether you might even have passed out at this point.
However, you quickly realize that you, in fact, are still conscious when you are roughly pulled to your feet, a firm grip on both your upper arms as the Magna Guards pull you up.
"She is so weak, she can hardly walk. And without her lightsaber she can't do much anyway. It was a fine addition to my collection", Grievous laughs in your ear devilishly, and a lateral push in your ribs makes you realize that you should move forward. Having no other choice, you obey and stumble forward on shaky legs, losing your balance with almost every step due to the fact that your hands are still tied together with stuncuffs.
Losing any sense of orientation, you get pushed forward right behind General Grievous, your vision blurred and your head continuing to spin until you finally come to a stop in a corridor that is no different from the previous one.
The door to another cell opens, at least you recognize the same sound as your cell door did before, and you are suddenly rudely pushed inside after Grievous has entered, meeting the hard and cold surface of the floor.
Trying your best to get up again, you notice that their dangerous weapons are no longer close to your body. Yet, you are prevented from doing anything at the sight in front of you after you managed to lift yourself up from the ground a little bit with your hands and looked up.
"Anakin!", you exhale in shock when you see your almost lifeless husband floating in front of you, the same handcuffs on him as on you, stunning him.
He immediately stirs when he hears your voice and lifts his head up, only to discover your trembling figure lying on the ground in front of him.
"What did you do to him?", you shout at Grievous with all your might and manage to fully get up due to the sudden adrenaline rush, but soon are shoved back onto the ground by Grievous and the Magna Guards pull you into a kneeling position by your arms.
"The same I did to you", General Grievous explains with a laugh and trudges back and forth between you and Anakin. "Verily, the will of a Jedi is strong, but I have already cracked the toughest will."
Admiring himself, his gaze slides on you and you immediately avoid the contact, looking at the ground.
"If you touch her even once, I swear you are already dead", Anakin angrily snaps at him, but Grievous does not even react to it, not even when Anakin manages to throw one of the Battle Droids against the wall in his anger with the tiniest movement. Grievous just stops in front of you and roughly lifts your chin up, indeed touching you.
"How many more electric shocks will she endure before her will breaks, what do you think?", Grievous asks into the room and you remove your chin from his grasp with all your leftover strength.
"J-Just leave her alone", Anakin mutters weakly and briefly looks at Grievous with a hateful expression before his muscles give up again and his head sinks down again in exhaustion.
"Tell me where the holocrons are and I will let her go", Grievous declares and turns to your husband, who is about to pass out.
"No! Don't listen to him, Anakin!", you interrupt him right away and try to, although you know that it will not be possible, to loosen your bonds, but the Magna Guards are quick to hold their electrostaffs threathingly close to your body again. "N-No matter what he does to me, you must not tell him- ouch!"
Feeling the burning imprint of the metal back of Grievous hand on your now throbbing cheek, the impact throws you to the ground and tears shoot into your eyes because of the sting, but you suppress them quickly.
"Well, if you do not want to talk, I know who will", Grievous threatens and you press your eyes shut in defeat to mentally prepare yourself for the torturing pain.
A pain that does not come.
At least not in the way you expected, because all of a sudden you hear something that is probably much worse for you than thousands of electrical particles shooting through your body.
They are shooting through Anakin right now.
Excruciating screams escape his throat and you have to watch how he is tortured, how his body winds in pain, how he slowly breaks apart.
You both expected that he would attack you.
"NO! Stop!", you yell at them and desperately shake at your bonds, tears flowing down your cheeks at the sight of the love of your life being hurt in front of your own eyes.
"Y/N-"
"Please stop! You will kill him!", you screech over his screams, but Grievous does not let his Magna Guards stop, rather he induces them to continue.
"Don't, Y/N. Do not tell- argh!", Anakin tries to tell you, but is interrupted by his pain and you can clearly feel how he is getting weaker by every second and how his strength and will are leaving him more and more.
With every further shock that electrifies his body and puts his muscles out of action, he groans in unbearable pain while thin billows of smoke are already emanating from his upper body. The skin on his neck and hands is reddish, a sign of an already severe burn. Yet the worst are still his inevitable screams that are fully soaked in suffer.
"The Jedi Archives!", you shout out loud while your tears keep streaming down your face, a feeling of guilt building up inside of you for just having betrayed the whole Jedi Order.
But you have no other choice.
"T-They are in the Jedi Archives!", you stutter out and General Grievous finally brings the torture to an end, but Anakin's body is now just lifelessly floating in the air.
"Well, that was not that hard, was it?", Grievous says, amused, and turns around to step out of the cell, his Magna Guards close behind him, leaving you alone. Before the door closes, however, one of the droids presses a button on the outside of the door, causing Anakin to fall to the ground with a loud thud.
"Anakin!", you cry out and quickly crawl over to him, his body still trembling as a result of the numerous shocks when you turn him on his back to get a better view of him and as soon as you touched him, you shortly get electrocuted as well.
"Do you hear me, Anakin? Please, please don't do this to me. Open your eyes!", you basically yell at him in his passed out condition and very carefully place your hands on each of his cheekbones, caressing them tenderly.
Lowering your head after he shows no reaction, your heavy sobs rock through your body and you whimper quietly, gasping for breath over and over again.
"I am so sorry", you sniff sadly and wipe your tears away with your hands, which are still tied together, before gently placing them back on his burning hot upper body.
"Y-You should not have- Should not have t-told him", Anakin utters all of a sudden and his eyes flutter open a tiny bit, weakness and pain covering his handsome face.
"W-What should I have done instead?", you desperately ask and can't help but feel a little bit relieved that he is able to talk to you despite his bad condition and despite the terrible torture method he just went through.
Seeking support and security, you grab his hands and he gently squeezes yours, trying to reassure you that he will be fine.
"That is- That is w-why it is forbidden- ugh forbidden for us to love and- and-", he groans as he tries to sit up, but he is too weak and even with your help, you do not manage to get him up so you gently lay him down again, his head in your lap.
"A-And to make us dependent on some- argh, damn! Someone", Anakin finishes his sentence anyway and if you did not know better, you could have sworn to see a small smirk scurry over his chapped lips.
"Ani, I betrayed the Council", you supress your crying and brush his brown locks out of his face while looking down at him with affection. "They are going to exclude me from the Jedi Order.."
"What are y-you even talking about? You s-saved me, babe. I will not let that happen", he hisses in pain, the last words nearly inaudible as his eyes slowly close again, his body becoming limp.
"We will not let that happen either", another voice suddenly speaks up and you look up startled, only to see Ahsoka standing in the hallway in front of your now opened cell.
"Ahsoka?", you mutter under your breath in disbelief and widen your eyes as she steps into the cell, not sure how much of your conversation she was able to hear. After all, nobody knows that you and Anakin are a thing, let alone married.
"Master!", Ahsoka breathes in shock and falls onto her knees next to you as she speechlessly takes in Anakin's fragile figure.
"I- They have-"
"It's okay, Y/N. Take it easy, slow breaths, in and out. We will get you out of here in no time", she affirms and gives you a gentle, encouraging smile before she quickly severes your and Anakin's cuffs with her green lightsaber. "Obi-Wan is chasing after Grievous and Captain Rex-"
"Master Tano, I found the lightsabers and am now on my way to the prison wing", Rex's voice interrupts Ahsoka through the comlink.
"Can you walk on your own?", she asks you concerned and helps you on your shaky legs, even though you nodded.
"I knew- I knew you would come, Snips", Anakin coughs out of nowhere, and you are not sure whether he is conscious or if the Force just allows him to feel what is happening around him right now.
"You always have to be bailed out, Skyguy", Ahsoka chuckles and at this moment Rex enters the cell with more clones, immediately handing you back your lightsaber, which you attach to your belt.
"Rex, please help me out over here", Ahsoka asks him and together they lift Anakin up from the ground and carry him out. Following them into the corridor in front of the cell, Fives quickly meets you and puts your arm around his shoulder to help you walk until you arrive in the hangar and get onto the Twilight.
They place Anakin in one of the small cabins and you let Fives guide you there as well. You sit down in front of your husband and do not let him out of your sight.
Holding back the sad and re-emerging tears that come up while looking at his distorted, unconsicous body, you bite down on your lower lip to prevent you from crying and take his rough flesh hand in your own. You gently stroke over the back of his hand with your thumb while the clone trooper medic puts an oxygen mask over his face.
It does not take long for Obi-Wan to join you in boarding the ship and as he does, he straightly goes to you when they start the Twilight and fly out of the hangar and into the vastness of space. When you feel his hand on your shoulder, you flinch.
"Sorry. How is he?", Obi-Wan asks you with great concern in his voice and face. After all, Anakin is like a son to him.
"The clone trooper medic said that he suffered severe burns and bruises, but apparently no permanent serious or consequential damage. Nevertheless, he urgently needs professional treatment when we arrive on the Negotiator", you sob and inconspicuously remove your hand from Anakin's to not let Obi-Wan see. "I have to- uhm I have to tell you something, Obi-Wan."
"I know. But better keep it to yourself a little bit longer for now until we report to the Council together, alright? Then you only have to tell it once", Obi-Wan calms you down and gives you warm smile.
"Thank you, master", you lower your head and turn your gaze back to Anakin, whose chest moves up and down regularly and whose breath is sounding through the room.
"Don't worry, Y/N. You did what everyone would have done and I am very grateful that you did so. We all have to make sacrifices at some point", he assures you before carefully patting your shoulder one more time and leaving the room, leaving you alone with Anakin again.
After you have finally arrived on the Negotiator, you do not leave Anakin's side when a few clones bring him to the medical bay, where the meddroids take professional care of him right away. While they are treating him, you wait outside, your body full of tension while nervously tapping the floor with your foot and playing with your fingers. They checked up on you as well, but because you were only briefly subjected to torture it only took them a few minutes to treat your wounds.
When the door finally opens automatically, you look up with hope in your eyes and stare at the medical droid expectantly.
"He is stable. You can see him now", the droid announces and guides you inside. At the sight that greets you, your heart stops beating for a moment.
There your husband lies, with cables connected to all the beeping machines, his eyes closed and his breathing light and regular. You unconsciously quicken your pace in order to get to his side faster. As soon as you stand next to him and neither say anything nor touch him, Anakin immediately opens his eyes as he senses you through the Force.
"Hi, beautiful", he weakly smiles at you and grabs your hand, causing you to directly surround his with your own, looking at him with worry, the load suddenly falling off your shoulders all at once.
"I was so worried about you. How are you?", you openly admit and gently run one of your hands through his messy but soft hair.
"You should not have done that, you know?", he clears his throat, ignoring your question as he feels the conflict within you, a serious expression while staring in your eyes. "I mean saving me. You have put yourself in danger. If something had happened to you.."
Tears well up in your eyes as you unintentionally review the recent events in your head, taking Anakin's words to heart, but you quickly catch yourself again.
"Anak-", you want to answer, but abruptly get interrupted when he pulls you into his strong arms out of nowhere, hugging you tightly like his life depends on it.
"Thank you for saving me, love", he softly whispers into your ear and you smile into the crook of his neck before he guides your face with his hand on your jaw right in front of his own. His blue eyes scan your face and then switch between your eyes and lips until he gently places his hand on the back of your head and leads you into a tender kiss.
Feeling his lips against yours suddenly feels so surreal to you. After everything that happened, you almost did not believe that it could still end, well, like this.
Leaning more into the kiss, he eventually breaks the kiss, just to place one gently between your eyebrows. His thumb softly runs over your cheek as he gives you a warm smile.
"I love you."
"I love you more. And I would always sacrifice everything for you", you return his smile and connect your lips again, feeling like nobody can harm you anymore.

• Even if I Fall, I'll Protect You by bereweillschmidt

It feels like the half of him has perished, his heart withered and died. His soul darkened.
He falls into a deep depression, before slowly starting to blame everything and everyone for the death of his beloved boy, the light of his life.

there's no end, no goodbye (Angstpril 2021 Day 23: Bedside Vigil)
It wasn’t anything special. That was what really bothered Anakin. Obi-Wan had survived so much in his life: Maul, Ventress, Grievous, Dooku. He’d even escaped the encounter with Palpatine, who had turned out to be the Sith Master Darth Sidious, with non-fatal injuries. After all that, Obi-Wan deserved to go out swinging against some mighty foe, saving the galaxy in the process.
So to think that it might be a random speeder that ended up killing him? That was unthinkable. But here he was, lying on a bed in the Halls of Healing. Master Vokara Che said he was in a coma and might not wake up. But Anakin knew better. Obi-Wan would wake up soon. He just had to be patient.
They had been walking out of the Senate building together after visiting the Chancellor-elect Bail Organa. As was typical with the man, Organa had been humble, wry, and exceedingly kind. After the whole mess with Zigoola -- which, annoyingly, Anakin still didn’t know the full story of -- Obi-Wan and Organa were good friends, and Anakin found himself mostly staying quiet and letting his former Master do the talking. He was used to that after years as the man’s Padawan.
It was quite pleasant being in the Senate building now. He hadn’t noticed before, but the air had been stifling, oppressive. After Chancellor Palpa-- after Sidious’s death, it felt like a massive weight had been removed, and all of a sudden even breathing was easier.
All this meant that both he and Obi-Wan were in a good mood walking out towards where they had left their speeder. As Jedi -- and rather highly ranked Jedi at that -- they had been given permission to park in one of the few reserved spaces in the immediate vicinity of the building. Obi-Wan had been pleased at this; he never liked going to the Senate in general, but especially when he had to walk from a lower-level speeder garage. Anakin didn’t mind. He’d visited the Senate building often enough (both for Palpatine and for Padmé) that he knew all the shortcuts.
“You know, for all you claim to hate politicians, you are good friends with a couple of them,” Anakin pointed out, walking in the center of the high pathway. “That’s more than the average person.”
“Bail and Padmé are different,” Obi-Wan sniffed, not even giving him a glance. “They are merely exceptions to the rule.”
“Yeah, well, one of those exceptions is now the Chancellor. Maybe he’ll clean up the place.”
“Chancellor- elect, ” Obi-Wan corrected, and Anakin rolled his eyes. “And I imagine he’ll try, but it’s too great a task even for him.”
“He does have a Jedi friend. He could always ask you to come into the Senate chamber and wave your lightsaber around again. After what happened the last time, the Senators would probably be cowed into compliance.”
The confrontation with Sidious had been epic and sprawling, culminating in Anakin, Obi-Wan, Master Windu, and Master Yoda duelling Sidious in the very chamber of the Senate. The Senate hadn’t technically been in session but there were always some people around. And when they saw how the fight ended -- with four Jedi killing the Supreme Chancellor of the Republic -- they had, understandably, been quite frightened. Thankfully the conflict had begun in Palpatine’s office, where the security cameras proved his treason, and none of the Jedi had been charged with assassination. But the incident probably loomed large still in the minds of the Senators and their aides.
“Or I could just give Bail my lightsaber himself,” Obi-Wan suggested. “It wouldn’t be the first time he’s used it.”
….What? Obi-Wan had let someone else use his lightsaber? And a politician, no less?
“Although it would be the first time he’d have used it on someone other than me,” Obi-Wan mused.
Anakin stopped in his tracks. Honestly, what the kriff happened on Zigoola? It seemed like the more he learned the more confused he became. But Obi-Wan had not waited for Anakin to finish his mini-freakout before continuing on, so Anakin quickly jogged after him and caught up.
Obi-Wan unhooked the keys from his belt and stood beside the speeder, looking up at his former Padawan as he inserted them. “Oh, Anakin, did you ever remember to --”
Then a speeder, flying much, much too close, clipped him as it sped past, and Obi-Wan was pushed off the platform. Anakin watched as if in slow motion as his body hung suspended in the air, twisted and contorted, then time resumed and he was out of sight. Anakin rushed to the edge, grabbing onto the Temple-ordered speeder for leverage as he leaned over and stared in horror as Obi-Wan continued falling, falling.

Soooo... it’s here! Part 2 of the Sith Obi Wan fic, based off of @oifaaa‘s Sith Obi Wan AU. Turned out longer than I expected, and I’m not completely sure about some of the dialogue, but I’ve kept you guys waiting long enough. Hope you like this shit!
Anakin stalked out of the room, furious. How dare those Sith kill those clones? How dare they attack an undefended, middle-of-nowhere Republic base, just to make sure he couldn’t get back to the field. They hadn’t even had the guts to attack him out there, they’d resorted to sabotage and destruction, killing innocents to get at him. Anakin didn’t care if it wasn’t the Jedi way, he was going to murder those Sith. It didn’t matter how or why, but those Sith were going down. He was pretty sure he heard the Admiral call out to him, probably begging him to stop, to consider what he was doing, but Anakin didn’t care. Those clones had died because of him. Because his ship was going to stock up at that base, and those Sith had known it somehow. His fault. His fault. His fault. His masters had always said that Anakin cared too much, felt too deeply, and that one day it would ruin him, but if Anakin didn’t care about these clones, who would? Not the Senate, who sent them to die without a care. Not the Republic, who saw the clones as expendable and worthless. Not even some of the Jedi, who thought they were nothing more than droids, good only for following orders and saving lives. He knew he needed to calm down. Knew he was being irrational and impulsive, two things that Master Windu had always warned him about. He didn’t care. Those clones were dead because of him, and damn him if those Sith weren’t going to pay.
He heard footsteps behind him and sped up, certain that it was Admiral Yularen about to try to talk him out of this, to claim that he was insane and insist that he came back right this instant to start planning their assault on the mid-rim seperatist strongholds. Anakin glared at the end of the hallway, pointedly not looking back. He would not be talked out of this. The footsteps approached again, and Anakin hurried, near-running now. The footsteps approached again, and he cursed. He couldn’t avoid the Admiral forever, and it was better to make sure the man got it through his thick skull that he was doing this, and that he had no power to stop him. He turned around, and had already opened his mouth when he realized that Admiral Yularen wasn’t there. In fact, he was nowhere to be seen. Instead, Rex, Echo, Hardcase and Fives were there, all standing behind him in full armor. Anakin closed his mouth then opened it again, then closed it, confused.
“Uh... um... what are you doing here?”
Hardcase rolled his eyes. “What, did you think that we were gonna let you have all the fun?” Anakin opened his mouth to protest, but Rex stepped forward, eyes flashing.
“General, we saw that footage too. Those Sith killed our brothers. If you’re gonna be there, so are we.” Anakin blinked and opened his mouth again, not even sure what he was going to say, when Rex glared at him again. “Don’t even think about it, sir.” Anakin rolled his eyes. “You know, that borders on insubordination, soldier. Let’s go.”
Five minutes later, Anakin stood in the hangar bay of the Resolute, steadfastly ignoring the Admiral pleading for him to just see sense or at least wait till morning. R2 whistled, and Anakin, still ignoring the Admiral’s furious demands, slipped into the cockpit, nodding at Rex and the boys to do the same. Anakin smirked, watching the Admiral from behind the tinted cockpit shield. He was screaming, having lost all sense of composure. “R2, plug in those coordinates.” The droid gave out a series of exasperated whistles that informed him that this was his worst idea yet, though with lots, lots more expletives. Navigation screens popped up on his display, giving him coordinates for the ruined base and a brief view of the terrain around-quite rocky, but with lots of good trees that could be used for cover. Anakin nodded, and grabbed the controls, hurtling towards the planet, executing a series of flips and spins without ever slowing down He loved the force, loved being a Jedi, but this was when he felt most alive, flying through space, hurtling towards that fast-approaching tree line. He waited for the boys to catch up, while R2 hurled some shockingly foul insults, even for him. Once the slowpokes caught up, Anakin headed for the tree line, his descent much more controlled as he located a clearing and made his way towards it, occasionally checking back to see if the boys were still behind him. Once he finally landed, determining that the clearing was a safe quarter mile away from the ruined base, he popped up the cockpit shield. He swung his legs over the side of the ship, and climbed out, leaving his helmet on the seat for his return.
The instant his legs touched the ground, he gasped, assaulted by the most powerful dark side energy he’d ever felt, waves of hate and anger and pain nearly knocking him to the ground with their sheer force. He’d never felt anything like it, the fury and betrayal crashing into him like a herd of banthas. He heard Rex calling out to him faintly, but it was nearly impossible to move, the dark side radiating from this place in horrible waves. He’d faced Dooku, a former Jedi Master and second in command of the Sith Order, and even he couldn’t compare to this. What could have happened to make someone this furious, this full of hate and rage? He struggled to his feet, remembering one of the first lessons Master Windu had taught him. He’d been nine, just a few days into his training. “Shielding is one of the most important lessons any force-sensitive can learn,” Master Windu had told him. “You must focus. Imagine the strongest wall you can, protecting your mind, keeping anything you don’t want in out, and sealing all your thoughts in where no one can reach them.” Anakin closed his eyes and forced a wall around his mind, imagining his master there with him, lending him strength as he had that day, all those years ago. The dark side gradually retreated until he could see and move again. He sighed, relieved and took a moment to mask his force presence, but he knew there was no point. A force-sensitive strong enough to do… whatever that was would have sensed him the moment he got out of his cockpit, probably before he’d ever touched the ground.
“Are… are you okay, sir?” Hardcase asked, unusually quiet and concerned-sounding.
Anakin forced himself to nod. “The dark side is strong in this place. Let’s move out.” The clones nodded reluctantly, and did as he asked, but Anakin could tell they weren’t pleased. They had fought side-by-side for years now, had saved each other's lives countless times, and they knew when he wasn’t telling them everything. They walked forward, squinting through the dark night, a yellowish moon the only true light in the dark sky. Eventually, they came to a break in the trees and Anakin signaled for the clones to stay there as he stepped forward, into the burnt clearing where the base had been. He gasped, shocked. It was.... awful. Anakin had been in plenty of battles over the course of the war, but he had never stayed on the battlefield afterwards like some of the soldiers did. He stared at the place, horrified. The wreckage was somehow worse from the ground, fires still burning, the horrible smell of charred flesh in the air. Death hung in the air, so terrible and close he could almost feel it. He wanted to barf. From the stench, from the sight, from the thought that someone could do this, that someone force-sensitive, someone who could feel the suffering and death and pain could do this and enjoy it. He blinked and nodded to the boys, letting them know that the coast was clear… so far.
He concentrated, feeling for any other presences, any glimmers of life. He didn’t have to wait at all. Almost the second he did, he felt two horrible, dark presences, not even bothering to try to conceal themselves. Anakin frowned. They were undoubtedly Sith. He could feel the anger and darkness radiating off of them. So why weren’t they trying to hide themselves? There was no way two force-sensitives that powerful wouldn’t have felt him the instant that he had set foot on the planet without his shields up. It almost felt like they wanted him to find them. Like they wanted him to find him. Like they had wanted him here.  His stomach did a backflip and, for the first time, he began to have second thoughts about running off to a random alien planet in the middle of the night after witnessing the most horrific murder he’d ever seen after two years of brutal warfare. He shook that off. There was no time to be nervous now. He looked behind him, and, seeing that the boys had already fanned out and were looking for survivors, nodded at Rex, and walked forward, blade ignited, throwing strange amethyst light around the quiet clearing. He cleared a wall of rubble and frowned, looking around him. He could feel the Sith here, where were they? He heard a noise, like a twig snapping, but that didn’t make any sense, the boys were pretty far behind him now-he turned sharply, barely able to block two brilliant red blades from crashing down on his head.
It was the younger sith, the one that had carried two sabers in the recording. She smirked at him through the gaps between their sabers, and smirked back. She was a togruta, pretty young by the looks of her, maybe 15 or 16, far too young to be so full of hate. He felt a stab of pity for her and wondered how she’d ended up here on this dark planet, so ready to kill people she’d never met. He blinked and refocused on the battle. No matter what had happened to take her here, right now, she was the enemy. He couldn’t let himself think anything else. She glared at him, her red-ringed yellow eyes furious and hateful, and he couldn’t suppress a slight shudder. She snorted, flashing long, sharp teeth threateningly and rolled her eyes.
“You know, I didn’t think you would be stupid enough to come down, but Jedi always surprise me.” Anakin glared back at her, annoyed more at himself than anybody that he’d fallen into a trap so obvious.
“And I thought Sith were smart enough to know when they’re outmatched. Guess we were both wrong.” Anakin forced his saber up, briefly stunning the girl and breaking the bladelock as he flipped over her head, striking and parrying. She returned with her own attack, which was nearly as fast as his own, though not quite as skillful. Her blades danced, deadly and mesmerizing, throwing bloody light and casting strange, angular shadows around the destroyed base. Anakin jumped back, letting her think she had overwhelmed him. She smirked coming forward with increased speed, her technique never slipping. Impressive. He ducked beneath the deadly arcs of red, briefly wondering at her unique Jar’kai style. Where had she learned that? He shook off the questions and refocused on the duel, blocking her spinning blades and coming up with a swift kick to her chest, stunning her and knocking her back. She growled, attempting to raise one of her blades in defense, but now he had the upper hand and easily disarmed her. He force pushed her back into a pile of rubble, pinning her against it. He picked up her fallen saber, a shoto, and held it to her neck, as a warning not to try anything. It was against the code to kill an unarmed opponent, even a Sith, but he doubted she knew that. Plus, if he could hold her here until Rex and the boys found him, she could make a valuable prisoner.
“Like I said, outmatched.” Anakin said, still smirking. The Togruta glared at him, her golden eyes flashing. “Not yet, Jedi scum.” He turned just in time to raise the girl’s shoto to block a huge piece of debris that was flying straight at him. He turned, gaping at her. She was clearly more powerful than he had thought. How had she done that?
“Wrong way, Jedi.” A voice said, furious and cold. Anakin spun around to find the taller Sith standing behind him, a red saber ignited.

Ok that's it I'm fixing star wars: fix it HCs underneath
It's basically just my Shinobi retirement farm post but in space but idc
Most of ep 2 happens but Anakin doesn't kill Dooku
Since Dooku gets a fair trial the Jedi order realizes he kinda has a point about Yoda needing to retire
Yoda becomes the Jedi version of crazy grandpa like he should
Anakin still has Dooku's lightsaber after taking it from him in the fight and he dual wields it and his normal blue saber, signifying the balance in the force he is to bring about
Dooku obviously rats out Palpatine in exchange for a nicer jail
Anakin never turns so wholly to the dark side and instead makes the selection process for becoming a Jedi more stringent and also starts a policy of being brutally truthful of what a young Jedi might expect from the order, causing applications to plummet
He does it so less children will go through the emotional struggles he had to bc he was not a great fit for the order as it had been
He's definitely working on reforms with Obi-wan also though
Anakin and Padme realize that they are very different people from very different backgrounds and even though they love each other they divorce
Luke and Leia were already born by then but the whole family is still very tight knit, Anakin loves his kids soooo much it's cute
Obi-wan also loves them
Anakin and Obi-wan go on crazy adventures and are sarcastic Jedi Bros together
R2d2 as a crazy uncle who should probably not have been allowed to babysit but it worked out we Stan
The whole Jedi order captures Palpatine and "somehow" "in the commotion" he dies (tbh it was probably r2d2)
The clones are recognized as people and some retire to be, idk star wars farmers, and they all have their chips removed and fight freely for whatever cause they choose
Fast forward until Luke is training to be a Jedi
Leia keeps kicking his ass in training she's crazy it's hilarious but Luke now struggles with his pride
He almost goes to the dark side and runs away and meets a crazy smuggler team and tags along with them for a while
Han and Chewie are glad to have such a useful and mechanically inclined passenger (and Chewie thinks he's good luck) so when Padme has put out a reward for his return they don't turn him in
Luke realizes that he doesn't have to be either dark or light or a Jedi or politician at all he can just be a dude (an option he hadn't previously considered bc he grew up surrounded by Jedi and political powerhouses)
Eventually Luke has Han and Chewie take him home to have a serious discussion with his family about his wanting to be a pilot and just a pilot. A race pilot actually
Han and Leia of course hate each other at first sight but eventually warm up to each other. Eventually
Anakin has flashbacks to every time he's nearly crashed as he flew something and Padme has flashbacks to every time he DID crash
Ghost Qui Gon who just hangs out sometimes to tease Obi-wan has to step in and convince everyone to chill out bc there's like three separate arguments going on not including whatever Chewie's talking about and he doesn't have enough space ghost popcorn
Luke and Han become rival best friend racers and have so many near miss crashes Padme goes grey (serves her right considering her and Anakin made Obi-wan go grey forever ago)
Some time after Ben is born they all go on family vacation/paying Han's debts and meet Rey and they kidnap adopt her (She's secretly Han's favorite Skywalker) (bc Ben is a Solo so it's not a conflict of interest)
Also idk how but bb8 and d-0 are there too
Finn and Poe are also there and are not five feet apart. They race Rey a lot after she takes over for Luke. Ben is her manager and Han refuses to retire and also will not be forgetting this betrayal Ben
Yes Ahsoka is their favorite aunt always
Grogu still gets picked up by Din
Din and co (ex bounty hunter nanny bot included) get hired for race security/bodyguards for the drivers when bounties are slim
Yeah there have been a few attempts at race fixing but it usually ends up alright
Tbh Anakin is still the best driver but after having freaked out about Luke driving his pride keeps him from doing it semi professionally as a side gig
Jedi business has been slow ok and he's a Lil old now so he keeps getting assigned the easy stuff and he hates it
Sometimes he races under a pseudonym just for a lil rush
Everyone knows it's him but they don't mention it
Speaking of mentioning, did I say that they all live in one large compound? Bc they do and it's funny af
Which one of you brats ate Han's old man cereal this time?! (It was Luke)
Chewie did not expect to have so many human pets but they're pretty cute and funny so he's happy
Ngl Chewie is probably the only one who really knows what self care is and actually urges anyone else to do so
Like yeah Padme knows how to take care of herself but anyone with Skywalker or Solo lineage has no chill and no self preservation instincts. Han says he does but he is wrong
One winter they went on like a ski trip to hoth and got stuck for months. To pass the time Chewie taught everyone how to knit and also chess. Somewhere they have a knitted/crocheted chess set as a result. They all almost went even more crazy
Rey is no longer allowed to cook after she gave everyone including the robots somehow food poisoning with a birthday cake she tried to make
Ben can cook but only sad bachelor meals and very plain stuff
Luke has a short attention span so mostly if he says he "cooked" he actually microwaved it
Han can cook really well but only like three Fancy things he learned to seduce people
They rely on Obi-wan to cook but he can only make variations of oatmeal or soup
Can any of them cook?!? No. They have to hire a chef with Padme and Leia's girlboss earnings
The chef is jar jar binks
