you ever have too many tabs open of ao3 and you dont know which to read so you switch between a bunch real fast and cant focus and then you doomscroll on tiktok for 30 minutes?

I'm playing this show on Sunday and I'm still reeling thinking about it. That's us, Twig & Leaf. It's real and I'm really gonna be there and I just can't believe it.

If you had asked me a year ago when I was just figuring out my first banjo chords "hey where do you think this whole musician thing is gonna go?"

I'd have said something like "maybe we'll play once or twice at the Connex, but mostly I reckon we'll busk and do this for fun."

What I would not have said was "We'll become friends with our favorite band and get invited to play all sorts of fests, we'll start hopping trains and start doing weird jobs like running a fireworks tent or harvesting sugar beets."

I also definitely wouldn't have said, "We'll probably play all over the South, opening for bands like Ponch Bueller and Yes Ma'am and Doom Scroll and Sister Wife Sex Strike. We'll get recognized by people at shows and folks will buy our merch and choose to pay for our music, and we'll host house shows as a real actual venue."

But here I am. I do the local open mic with my band every week. I'm going to be recording stuff to put on an actual CD soon. I've got traveling bands coming through to our house. I play music every single day and my life has changed. I've met tons of new and cool people who have proven they got my back no matter what, and I got theirs (not all of them are queer either! Don't discount folks cuz they're straight, I see that shit and it makes me livid!). I've become part of a community and that's so fucking cool.

I'd absolutely love the idea of someone scrolling through my blog the way that i scroll through my mutuals blogs, reblogging or liking almost every post that they hadn't seen yet (even though i am pretty sure that no one does, so i will stay in my little fantasy land inside my brain).

We can call it the "Cellphonia" and just have the residents scribe letters written in blood on a large partchment called "The Doom Scroll" that constantly informs the outside of the harsh truths of reality, rotating on a crank constantly. Anyone caught putting rick rolls in the headers or alignment captials will be flogged for ink.

Would you ever enjoy living in a monastery? I'm thinking about how the (relative) solitude and routine would be nice to some folks but the lack of ability to rainbow your tonsure and have gay sex would probably make it a huge bummer in other ways.

I literally think I was made for monastery life. I already spend most of my time either reading, writing, cleaning, or cooking. I do my best work when I am isolated and calm.
