the very moment he found out about your shyness around the subject he came to realise that he loves nothing more than to tease you and watch you squirm

all he has to do is say one dirty thing or even just mention the word 'sex' and you practically recoil, looking away from him as you stumble on your words with your cheeks flushing a deep shade of red

oh how he adores it

innocent kisses are about as much as he can get off you before you’re coming up with some excuse and running away before things can advance further

although it is reassuring to him to know that sex is not the only thing you want from him, as has been with many of his... tumbles in the past

he was sure you did want him though, even if you were too shy to admit it. how could any man resist him, after all?

you just weren’t ready, still far too shy to the thought, and he was okay with that

he would wait for as long as you needed and he’d certainly be there whenever you were ready to go just a little further

it seemed that baby steps were required with you but he could be patient

the teasing would not stop though, it was far too fun for him to forgo it

and when the time finally came when he was able to work you up to it, he adored you all the more for how you twisted and turned underneath him, trying to hide your flushed and embarrassed face under your arm or by pushing it down into your pillow

"i want to see you, amatus," he'd say as he turned your face towards him with a gentle hand, kissing you softly as if to remind you that you were safe with him and that there was nothing to be embarrassed about

astarion

like dorian, astarion would love to tease you

he’d bring something dirty up in almost every conversation with you just to watch you squirm

he had never seen anyone so shy about sex before

he certainly wasn’t and usually he’d have given up and moved on to someone else by now

but he wanted you

“come on baby boy, i know you want to” his voice would be low, sultry and full of desire

more than just teasing, he’d love to describe all the things he wanted to do to you in great detail

the rest of the party had scolded him time and time again after seeing how uncomfortable it made you

still, he wouldn’t stop

not until he had at least had a taste of you

the camp would be celebrating with a party by the time you would finally begin to buckle under his advances

a little too drunk for your own good

he’d sit beside you, handing you another pitcher of wine, your shoulders bumping together

whispers of sinful things would find their way into your ears as he trailed his fingers up and down your arm

if shadowheart hadn’t been watching with a close eye you were almost sure he would have had his way with you right then and there

instead, he settled for watching you fumble more than usual, face burning red at every foul description that fell from his lips until you finally passed out from the exhaustion of it all, head slumping against his shoulder as he smiled almost too fondly and carefully removed the pitcher from your hand before what was left of the wine could spill over you both

he would never give up though and the next morning when you woke up in his bed he was quick to tease and threaten you with how great of a time the two of you had had the night before

you only blushed and pulled the blankets up to hide your face in panic

oh how he loved this game

“don't worry your pretty little head. nothing happened between us last night, as much as i wish it had.”

your first time together would be a long time coming and he would savour every moment of it, drawing it out for hours until you could do nothing but cry out his name

inquisition companions react to the inquisitor missing half their arm

because bioware didn’t wanna give it to us, i decided i’d just do it myself. (insert thanos meme) even though i am like years late to the hype.

the game is like 9 years old at this point, but spoilers ahead.

do keep in mind this is my own personal interpretation of each character. it may not be accurate to your own interpretations. (also i know leliana is technically not a companion in inquisition but i included her anyways)

cassandra pentaghast

if cassandra could plunge a knife into the heart of solas, she would. she would not let him get away with betraying you and taking the anchor along with your arm. you had basically fallen into her arms when you emerged from the portal and she had to carry you back to halamshiral. for the days you were unconscious, cassandra was anxious and extra prickly. there were many times where cullen would have to talk her down from her anger. even varric did too.

dorian pavus

the first thing he did was crack a joke. the atmosphere was tense and it just slipped out. “i asked you to come back in one piece, not missing one.” safe to say, the other companions did not approve of his joke. dorian was set to return to tevinter after being notified of his new position as a magister, but he delayed the return to his homeland for you. he sat in your room as you lied unconscious, barely breathing, leg anxious bouncing up and down. when you awoke, you were immediately met with a large and tight hug from him. he knocked the air out of your lungs from that.

blackwall

blackwall admires you. in fact, everyone would go so far as to say he adores you. he thinks of you as strong, capable, almost infallible. you closed rifts, you closed the big green tear in the sky, and you defeated corypheus! what couldn’t you do? all your feats proved to him that you were the strongest leader he could ever know. and yet, you were still mortal. you left the eluvians mortally wounded and exhausted beyond belief, your eyelids so heavy and ready to close so you may drift off into the black void of sleep. blackwall would not let you, not until you were taken away to be cared for. you found him sitting besides you, awake and on guard. your mortality was his reminder that you and him were the same, even if your lives appeared to be completely different. and he understood that the world would need a leader like you and that is dangerous.

iron bull

the bull could feel a stronger kinship with you that day. it appears that the both of you lost something. he betrayed the qun for the inquisition, thus losing a part of himself, his people. you lost a literal part of yourself, something you had to come to terms with after having the anchor for two years. to say iron bull was shaken up would be an understatement. he was getting cassandra to hit him with sticks for days on end while you lied unconscious. he wondered what would’ve happened if he was with you, if maybe...he could’ve stopped solas. but reminiscing never did anyone any good.

cole

as much as he wanted to help you, cole couldn’t. he also understood that you wouldn’t accept his help, no matter how much he insisted. so instead, he did the best thing he could do: help tend to your injuries. what was curious was that he could feel very little of your pain. when he felt your pain two years ago after forming the inquisition, it was concentrated in your hand and forearm. with it gone, you felt at peace. the primary source of pain for you had been washed away. perhaps it was a blessing in disguise, he thought.

sera

sera’s immediate reaction is, like dorian, to crack a joke. everyone is used to her eccentricity. but it felt different this time around. while you laid unconscious, recovering from the long battle, she occupied herself. she had to busy her hands and her legs, keep moving, keep her mind busy. because if she sat too still for even a second, then her mind would think about the worst outcome. she would get images of you, dead, because solas had betrayed you, betrayed her, betrayed the inquisition. hell, he betrayed the world! that knob! thinking he knew what was best! sera’s all the more relieved when it’s revealed you survived. she bursts through the door to see you and hug you tightly, complaining about how much you scared her.

varric tethras

in all honesty, varric should’ve been more prepared to expect...well, the unexpected. he had expectations of you coming out unharmed, untouched. obviously, that was not what happened. and he wondered if he was responsible for this. he had been one of the many people to support you as the inquisitor two years ago, suggesting it. he wondered if he made the wrong decision. but also, part of varric was relieved. he lost someone close to him two years ago. he didn’t know if he could handle losing you too.

vivienne de fer

the court would devour tales of the eluvians and how you managed to survive. that was vivienne’s first thought. people would be talking about you for centuries to come, certainly. and yet, she knew in her soul that was not what you would want. she does her best to minimize what rumors spread when you first emerge from the eluvians and help give you privacy. behind closed doors, vivienne checks on your injuries. part of her is amazed that the anchor was removed so cleanly.

josephine montilyet

josephine has seen many things ranging from serious to just plain absurd. when she was alerted that you had returned with many serious injuries, including the loss of half your arm, she sent messages to get the best possible doctors in all of orlais to help attend to you. the woman was definitely stressed beyond belief. but when she wasn’t trying to get everyone from backing off from you or getting people to look at you, josephine was attending to you herself. you awoke to find her wiping some sweat off your face and when she noticed, she muttered about how great andraste was and embraced you tightly.

cullen rutherford

your knight-commander appeared to take the news very well, much to the disapproval of cassandra. but the moment cullen was alone, in private, he flipped a table, causing everything to crash. all he could feel running throughout his body was regret, guilt, and anger. regret and guilt for not having gone with you. he should’ve. because if he did, maybe you would have came back alright. anger directed towards solas because the apostate had betrayed you, the inquisition. and everything you and him had worked towards was going to crumble. all of his hard work, leliana’s, cassandra’s, josephine’s, it’d all be for naught. cullen ends up spending a lot of time alone while you’re unconscious. he prays to andraste and the maker to distract himself from any wandering thoughts going towards lyrium. certainly the new mabari hound he decided to adopt on a whim helps with distractions at least.

leliana

the woman has seen many things in her lifetime, having experienced the fifth blight itself and been part of that fight against the archdemon. still, things aren’t easy when you come back from the eluvians missing half of your arm. even if it goes against all her duties, leliana stays with you until you wake up to make sure you’re alright. you’re the inquisitor after all and it’s vital that you’re still alive.

solas

he’s the one who took it. you think he cares?

in all seriousness, it gave him no pleasure to remove your arm for the anchor. even if his plan was...well, shoddy we should say, the anchor was going to kill you. he had no choice. carrying your hand and forearm around felt heavy. he could carry it just fine but what made it heavy was the burden that came with his plan to tear down the veil and bring doom upon the world in a desperate attempt to bring it back to what it once was. and also, the burden of having harmed you.

You have been wrong about many things in your life. There have been many things you had believed to be true, only to find out later they were not. There have been many decisions you made that turned out to be the wrong one. There have been yesses that were nos and rights that were wrongs - such was the way of life. You had learned to take those mistakes into stride. Why dwell on the damage when you could focus on how to fix things? 

It was an admirable mindset. However, it did not help you a bit as you were faced with was quite possibly the biggest mistake of your life. Emotions had never been your forté and then Dorian Pavus appeared in your life, all dashing and demon fighting. You loved his sharp tongue and wit; you loved his sass and his sarcasm. There was nothing to not love as you grew into close friends within a few days. Before you knew it, you spent every possible moment together, reading in the skyhold library, debating any topic that came up or drinking in Skyhold’s tavern with whoever else also happened to be there. It was either those things or fighting side by side against whatever came out of the fade. 

Then he confessed his feelings to you. Had you ever been interested in men? No. Had you ever been with a woman? Also no. ‘Perhaps, this is love,’ you had thought to yourself. “I can no longer imagine living my life without you,” you had told him that day in all truthfulness. It was as good of a confession as anything, but now you wondered if it was love or brotherhood like you had never experienced before. 

Dorian was patient with you, knowing being with a man was new for you. He even offered to shave for your first kiss, but you were pretty sure he was jesting. It had been over a month since that first kiss. It was nothing like you imagined, but you thought you’d get used to kissing a man. You never got used to it. You loved Dorian. You wanted to know him until your last breath. However, you had no desire to kiss him and the looming expectation of eventual sex filled you with dread. 

“You seem troubled,” Dorian observed as you sat across from him in the library. There was a book in your hands, but you had been staring at the same page for several minutes now and there was no hiding the glassy look in your eyes. Dorian took the book from your hands and then took one of your hands in his own. This felt fine, felt right even, but you did not experience butterflies in your stomach or a fluttering heart. 

Dorian took you out to one of the walls surrounding Skyhold. The wind was cold, but the air was warm. “I cannot help but feel I have done something to upset you,” Dorian spoke as he leaned against the wall. Behind him you saw the courtyard, many people walking around like ants. 

“You have not! It is… me, who made a grave mistake.” You could not look at him. You have been putting off this very conversation and Dorian had sensed something was wrong. How could he not? You often felt like you two shared a soul. You could not look at your partner, eyes glued on the mouldy stone under your feet. You did not see Dorian’s eyebrow cock up. 

“Amatus… What did you do?” Dorian made it sound like you cheated on him. As much as you had no romantic feelings for him, your undying loyalty would not have allowed you to even so much as look at anyone else, while your… arrangement of sorts was still in place. 

You took a deep breath and looked up. Dorian’s eyes were crushing your heart, but you felt it was unfair to even think that while you were about to stomp on his. “I…” You played this scene a thousand times over in your head, but now that you were here, you found yourself unable to remember any of the words you prepared. You took another deep breath. When beautifully crafted words were unavailable, there was always the good old ripping the bandage off. “I’m not in love with you. I don’t think I ever was.” You saw Dorian getting ready to say something, but you stopped him with a hand you almost shoved into his face. “Wait, let me finish! I don’t think I will ever be able to be in love with a man, but I do love you. I love you dearly, just not romantically. I still want to be with you until my last moments, just… as friends.” 

Dorian scoffed, throwing his hands up and turning around to look over the courtyard. “Oh please, spare me the salving words. You’re just like those before you. You hear of a man interested in other men and immediately think ‘oh I should try that’!” Dorian pushed himself off the wall and turned around to face you. You felt small under his venomous gaze. “I’m just a pretty test subject. What I feel doesn’t matter, does it? As long as that little itch of curiosity gets scratched. I really thought you were a better man, Ama…” He corrected himself, your name never spoken before with such contempt. “People like you disgust me.” 

You wanted to explain yourself, scream that is was nothing like that, but you couldn’t say a thing; words clogged up your throat. Dorian drew his own conclusions from your silence and turned away, walking back to the library with his head held high. You watched his back. Each step he took separated you further from the piece of your soul he still carried with him. You could not see the thick tears that stained the necromancer’s cheeks. You could not feel how his heart ached, how old wounds started bleeding once more. All you could perceive was the way your chest felt hollow where Dorian was supposed to be your brother in arms until your last breath. You didn’t know how long you stood there, but you decided against going through the library and left the wall via another route. Perhaps one day, you could mend things, but sometimes wounds needed to bleed clean, before one could bandage them up.

Sunlight was creeping in between the gaps in the curtains. The fire had long since gone out, not even smoke going up the chimney. All was quiet and still in the Inquisitor's quarters.

There was a massive advantage to both you and Izzy waking up early like you had always done on the Queen Anne and that was no one else was up yet. It felt like just you two in your own little world as Izzy stretched and turned over to face you, face breaking out into a very soft smile.

"Morning", you whispered as you smoothed some hair out of your lover's face, bopping his nose afterwards just to hear Izzy's morning voice form a chuckle.

"Morning, love", he whispered back, reaching between them to grab hold of one of your hands, pressing a kiss to it and then holding onto it firmly. "You are especially beautiful this morning."

You made a happy little noise, hiding a yawn behind your hand.

"Flatterer. That's one of your many advantages: I know you always mean it."

Izzy nodded, bringing his lover's hand to his cheek.

"Always, love. Why waste words when love is hard won?"

You grinned, snuggling closer into the burrow of warmth and closer to your beloved.

"Spoken like a true pirate."

The other man made a contented little noise, going even further with the snuggling by tucking himself under your chin.

"A benefit of being a true pirate is getting moments like this before your advisors take you away from me."

"Agreed", you mused as you ran a hand through Izzy's soft hair. It was in moments like this that you could have sworn Izzy purred like a very happy cat. "Although they do feed us well. Whilst someone else has that kind of money, we may as well use it."

Izzy scoffed a triumphant laugh, pressing a kiss to his lover's chest.

"That's my boy."

"Always", you agreed, wrapping your arms more tightly around your lover. "You're never getting rid of me. End of the world or not."

You were right in that you were incredibly determined to see this through and to save the world in the progress. Who would have known that a pirate could become the Herald of Andraste and the Inquisitor, a beacon of hope to people who thought you uncouth and wild? In the end though, none of the masses of people who flocked to the Inquisitor's banner mattered to you. Sure you had made friends within your inner circle, Dorian Pavus being the closest of them all.

No, the main reason why you fought so damned hard to save the world was to save the man in your arms, and to keep him safe from all harm. Because you loved Izzy Hands most of all, and you would never ever let him go or let him forget how truly loved he was.

If only his father could see him now, his disappointment of a son; Altus mage of the Tevinter Imperium, balls deep inside the famed Herald of Andraste — not to mention, an elf, and Dalish at that — well, he would likely have combusted where he stood.

Dorian was used to being a disappointment. He wasn’t what his father had wanted in a son. He was a great mage, certainly an asset to the Imperium, but he fell short when it came to his romantic and sexual relations.

He had no intention to ever take a wife, nor sire any children of his own. Not only due to his complete lack of interest in women but also because the idea of becoming a father terrified him. He hadn’t had the best role model, so to speak.

There was always some enjoyment to be had in knowing his actions only riled his father further. As much as he wanted nothing more than to be accepted by him and make him proud, a part of him had given up on that long ago. Just as his father had certainly already given up on him.

Especially now as he rolled his hips forward, pushing the Inquisitor further down into the messy array of sheets below them.

Lavellan groaned from where he lay, almost flat against the bed. With what little strength he had, he pushed down against the sheets, lifting the tender curve of his arse to meet with his lover’s thrusts. With the next, he found himself collapsing into the blankets again, face hitting the pillow with a soft thump.

The Inquisitor played a tough game when he was on top, testing every muscle in his lover’s body as he touched and teased him for what felt like hours. When he found himself on the receiving end, however, Dorian always knew exactly how to put him in his place.

Rough fingers laced themselves through Lavellan’s dishevelled hair and pulled harshly, forcing his back to arch as he was pulled upwards. Dorian’s hot breath fanned across his cheek as he groaned into his ear, “Amatus.”

Lavellan’s mouth hung agape as his moans echoed from wall to wall. At least half of Skyhold would hear them, that they knew for certain. Liliana had already had quite an uncomfortable conversation with their beloved Herald about their nightly antics, taking great care in ensuring the Inquisitor knew quite the extent of the rumours which had begun spreading into every corner of Thedas.

He had been bewitched, they had begun to speculate. Seduced by an evil Imperium Magister who wished to taint the holy Inquisition with blood magic and make the Herald of Andraste his slave.

Dorian had laughed at this, amused that the world believed he had been the seducer. If anyone had asked he would not have said anything otherwise but, in truth, he was the one who had been seduced. Seduced by the charm of the man who currently resided beneath him. Seduced by his kind heart and desire for change. Seduced by his delicate waist and devious smirk.

His thrusts grew stronger as he released the elf’s hair, watching him fall down onto his pretty little face once again as he was fucked so hard the headboard began to bang loudly against the wall.

Lavellan writhed beneath him, raising a hand to his mouth as he bit down on his own flesh, trying to stifle his cries. Tears had begun to spill onto his cheeks and, with one harsh thrust, Dorian knew he had come undone. Still, he rocked into him at an unforgiving pace, smearing the juices which had since spilt out onto the bedsheets across his lower body.

His dear Amatus may have been pushed to the edge already but he needed to hang on for just a little while longer. Cassandra would have words with him in the morning for certain. Although she was reluctant to bring it up, she was always concerned when the Inquisitor trod across Thedas with a slight limp.

“Please, Dorian…” his voice was hushed and broken as his knuckles whitened, gripping the edge of his soft pillow for dear life.

He was red-raw and sore all over but he could already feel his spent cock hardening again as it rubbed back and forth against the bed below him. Unconsciously, he found himself rutting slightly, craving more friction.

Dorian hushed him, his pace not once faltering, and reached around to grant his Amatus the touch he so craved.

The Inquisitor cried out again at the overstimulation. He was so, so sensitive. Too sensitive after how many times he had already came. It had been a long night. Such a long night. But it was almost over.

His fingers lightly moved the drapes of hair that had fallen over his lover’s face and leaned forward, gently kissing his temple. He wiped away the tears that still glistened against his cheeks and gently began to clean him up.
