Cars the same age and mileage as mine are selling for more than what I paid 6 years and 20,000 miles ago... unless there's worse damage I don't know about even if the insurance company totals me I'm going to join the ranks of the people driving around town with half their car missing.
#you CAN do that. take the payout and keep the totaled car with salvage on the title#it's just worth absolutely nothing so you can't sell it for much but scrap later#and the only insurance you can put on it is liability#hopefully they will not total it. the car is driveable and the damage is almost all cosmetic#I'll tape a tarp over the front bumper I don't care#no that's a lie the crumple zone exists for a reason#I want it there to crumple again if need be

jfc what a day at work again. work day was supposed to end at 2.30 pm but i got to clock out 3 hours later than that because of the awful condition all the roads are in... it's a miracle i even managed to get to all the addresses at all to deliver today's mail. 🙄

a woman almost lost her life when i was on my way to my class, the opposing vehicle had exactly two bumper stickers 1) my other ride is a broom in "harry potter" font 2) fueled by caffeine and disney in "disney" font, she cut my mom off at speeds and my, woodstock born detriot raised precision driver while under multitude of Influences, mom who has never lost a car accident decided to grant mercy by merely honking the horn instead of tapping the bumper in a way that would have torn the mini van asunder
#my mom gets in a LOT of car accidents but is never injured or never fucks HER car up beyond repair#like the worst accident she fucked the front up where it was too costly but still driveable vs a deer which was like pink mist#its her super power#in another life she was like a drag racer or a demolition derby superstar#and without a Shadow of a doubt i knew she didnt ram this woman full on because she didnt want me to be late#which was exceptionally considerate of her
