to be honest i don't think you're being oversensitive or anything like that. im sure a lot of people dont mean to be ableist? but it comes off as that, honestly. (and it also kind of goes back to your post about the tiktokfication of ao3 as well, what with people wanting to know immediately something major that will happen in the future of the story without waiting for the chapter. its fun to speculate and chat about these things, its like a little bookclub for fanfics, but sometimes its just... i don't know if im explaining myself well, i don't want to be rude because people dont always mean to be like that, but sometimes asks can come off as entitled or demanding and it makes me feel weird) ((i say this in an ask myself lmaooo, im so sorry))

no yeah i totally feel u! it's one of those things where like. we live in an ableist society, we all internalize ableism. and like i'm able-bodied so i get that this is not something we are taught to consider or think about, and able-bodied folks are not put in a position where we're forced to think about it, so it's easy to be thoughtless. but being thoughtless just ends up perpetuating ableism, and it's like.....idk it's kind of jarring once you have taken the time to read up on some disability theory and like listen to disability advocates because u start to notice the very casual ways that ableism just seeps into everyday life.

and yeah the thing that inspired that post was actually the comments on a tiktok speculation video i came across so. lmao. the tiktokification strikes again. but yeah i don't think there's anything wrong with speculating and discussing theories and i've talked before about how i think something so cool about crimson rivers + other ongoing fanfic wips is the way they lend themselves to the sort of community that can only come with reading an ongoing story as it's being written, but i get what ur saying about there being a line between being like omg so fun i get to have all these little thoughts about it!! versus pressuring a writer to make things go a certain way. like there's a difference between saying "omg what if this happens!" "omg i think this might happen!" versus "ugh i hope THIS doesn't happen" or "omg this HAS to happen", y'know?

I've been playing the long game, don't you see? Acting like a regulus stan to make people trust me.

The truth is, regulus deserved to die in that cave. Sirius already said he was a Voldemort fanatic but people keep saying he was forced. In fact, sirius started living his best life when he left. How about people stop forcing the black brothers on each other? Regulus stans can't comprehend the idea of a found family prevailing over an abusive blood family. The whole idea of sirius leaving was so he can find his own family.

Also, stop making regulus into a discount Sirius! Stop it! Stop trying to make regulus cool when there's a whole ass sirius. Stop giving Sirius' traits to regulus, it's offensive to all Sirius black stans.

Just a reminder that James would literally rather spit on regulus' face and break his hands before considering any other method of interacting with a death eater.

Random hilarious idea: jegulus my big fat greek wedding au. Except it's my big fat pure blood wedding. Let's pretend in this au the Black family is just snobby and a little crazy, but not like in the books, and James, he's an only child, BUT in this au in his family he has tons of cousins, aunts, uncles, and two sets of grandparents, and two great grandmothers that are still alive(and make lots of passive aggressive comments to James mother and how they only had one child really late in life). Also his family is an old desi family that goes back generations. So we have these two very old magic pure blood families that both have their own traditions and way of doing things clashing and driving each other crazy. They each wants this wedding to go a certain way. Meanwhile Jegulus just wants get married and be together. But they both care too much about their own families to just up and ditch and elope(especially for Regulus considering his parents guilt tripped him into not eloping like Sirius did). And this whole idea is hilarious and interesting and romantic. And just exploring the two different wizarding cultures (the Black's a French family and the Potter's a family from India)

James family is nice, but make a lot of passive aggressive comments about his parents only having one child.

Narcissa and being the wedding planner while pregnant with Draco.

The marauders era gang is all here and is causing hilarious shenanigans.

Marlene and Dorcas getting together during the wedding basically just like how Monica and Chandler did during that episode of Friends.

James was the one to propose and it was cute.

Regulus can't swim and almost drowns during the wedding preparations(Don worry James saved him).

Honeymoon Greece.

James and Sirius get stuck somewhere right before the wedding and starts and have to rush back.

Narcissa water breaks during all this. Regulus has to deliver the baby.

this is from the celebrity au bc the brainrot is real. enjoy these two gays being dumb<3 also, let’s ignore the english here too yknow the drill.

Regulus mindlessly swam over, inevitably drawn to him.

“Oh, yeah?” he asked, tilting his head to the side “you like horror?”

“Love it” James confirmed, feet still drawing invisible patters on the water. “I’ve always been intrigued by it, at least. We used to do a movie night every Friday with Sirius, after classes, and he showed me some of the classics.”

Regulus didn’t reply right away. He looked at this man sitting at the edge of the pool, piercing eyes set on him like there was nothing else in the world to look at, and something familiar pulled at his chest.

He did his best to ignore it.

“You’re a shit liar, has Sirius ever told you that?” he finally said, a tiny smirk creeping its way to his mouth. James cast him a surprised look.

“What?”

“There’s no way you like horror. I can't justify it, I just know.”

After a few seconds of stunned silence, James laughed.

“Well, fuck, why’d you have to clock me like that?” he muttered, shaking his head. “I absolutely despise it. Sirius would put on the most horrendous, gut-wrenching movies, and I always ended up feeling a bit nauseous” he confessed.

“Yeah, that seems about right. You look like the type to get sick over a murder,” Regulus confirmed, endlessly amused by this man.

“What else do I look like, then, oh mighty Regulus?”

“You look like you cried to The Notebook and rewatch the same cheesy Christmas movies every year” he shrugged “you’re basically a handbook rom-com guy.”

“I could make your life a rom-com too, if you’d like.”

“Oh my god, shut up.”
