They were my first SE ship. I really adored how they interacted and I thought they were cute together. The box ‘fandom does it better’ is only in reference to the anime. I know the manga has more going on with them. I think Soul and Maka are just a couple of dorks who are saving the world so romance can come after that. It would take them a while to see that and realize that their feelings are more than platonic. They are literal soulmates and I adore them both very much

Bright Mac/Pear Butter

Holy shit dude what the hell. Their episode made me cry!!! Twice!!! They are, yes, the perfect pair as the episode name suggests. There’s nothing quite like a “forbidden love” story no matter how many times it gets used. They’re such sweeties and they’re cute, so hopelessly in love you can’t help but fall in love with their relationship. The song in the episode is beautiful and the character designs alone omg, you can really pull me in with a girl with tight curly orange hair ngl. I love them and wish we got to see more

The state of the league of villains during act 3 is so sad man. Compress literally gave his ass for the league, got arrested and nobody gaf. Twice’s demise amounted to nothing, nobody cared. The whole discrimination arc Spinner was involved in was a mess. Suddenly Hori decided he cared about realism in his story so Toga dropped like a fly from a simple blood transfusion. Dabi is forced to sit and listen to Endeavor whine and yap about how sad he is about being an abusive pos, all the while nobody actually cares and he never got any real repercussions besides his family being (justifyingly) mean to him. Shigaraki was sidelined for a boring villain and was stripped off all his autonomy and agency.

Though I haven't gone into much detail about Stan and Ford in the Familiar AU, I've thought of something funny.

The Stans went on Unspecified Adventures together when they were younger men. Partners, in fact! And while I'm likely never going to get into the details of their eventual falling out - there's potential in those adventures!

Who knows. Maybe monsterfucking kinda runs in the Pines family, but not the one you'd think.

Stan chatting up a Siren, before Ford has to yank his brother back by the shirt. Wondering where the hell Stan went, only to find him partying with some nymphs in a lake and coming THIS close to being drowned. Hell, maybe when Stan describes one of his exes as a 'shrill harpy', he's being literal about it.

A twenty-something on the prowl and on the adventuring path is gonna run into SO many tempting creatures - and the number of times Ford saved Stan's dumb ass from human-ish ladies would go into the DOZENS.

every single time I see someone say aftg is unhinged and bad and unrealistic and too chaotic I get so fucking mad. what did you think you were going to get from fiction???? historic accuracy?? bibliographic organization??? fuck off!!!!!!!!!!

and btw when I say the "unrealistic" part gets me mad I don't mean the sometimes flimsy representation of mental health or medication and stuff, I mean when "unrealistic" refers to a book that has sports and mafia as plot points as if that's the craziest combination ever written.

I could go on and on about how much Forever loves the Eggs, but I want to highlight one specific thing for the moment:

After the Guapoduo wedding, Forever got rejected by Phil yet again after confessing his love (yet again). Like any emotionally stable person would do, Forever promptly flings himself into the pit, and when he doesn't die, he lights himself on fire. Phil hops down after him, but someone invisible gets to Forever first and douses him in water.

Forever tells Phil to just let him die and go away, but Phil's attention is on the invisible person, who he assumes is an admin. He laughs, then punches it twice asking who it is. Forever, who was very depressed and very in character, suddenly does a 180 and (while putting himself between Phil and the invisible thing) quickly says, "STOP IT -- don't hit it, maybe it's an Egg, sometimes the Eggs are invisible" (Phil, of course, complies because he was just being silly).

It just reminded me how Richarlyson nearly died when he took fall damage while invisible the previous week, and how everyone was frantic trying to find him but couldn't because they couldn't see him (he was rescued by Forever warping him to the Egg Hotel, but Richarlyson later said he only had 2 seconds left before his death would've been permanent).

Something about Forever putting everything else aside -- emotions, drama, whatever -- because the safety of the Eggs comes first is just so... I dunno man. I just love Forever a lot. Both the character and the actual content creator care so damn much about the Eggs and the server and the other members, and he's always so respectful. He checks in on people both in character and out of character to make sure everyone's alright and there are no hurt feelings or misunderstandings. He's so full of love, and that love bleeds into his character and everything he touches in the series. It's really sweet. Forever is a good guy.

Since the show decided to make this on the nose about how Eddie I'm a nester I nest Diaz keeps kicking women out of his nest and running to Buck, I need a scene in the near future of Buck doing something ridiculously domestic in that damn house. It's not like he's not already ridiculously domestic in that house, but, like, we're already here. Give me Buck making pancakes in Eddie's kitchen in canon, please and thank you.

i understand the frustration with “i made this gay pairing cis x trans so they can still have biological babies” with no thought to other methods and how ppl assume thats the case when it comes to mothpool aus where mothwing is also the mother of the three, but also…. idk i kinda dont give a shit if someone wants to do that and i dont really think its inherently transphobic as long as its handled with care and respect.

what really concerns me about this debate is how some people are adamant that you cannot portray trans people having biological children in media or youre being disrespectful. and im gonna say as a nonbinary person who doesnt want children for themself- thats kinda fucking weird? like i understand that for some people, theyre trans themselves and theyre speaking from a place of dysphoria, and i absolutely get that, which is why i think the topic should be handled with nuance and diversity in trans characters, but like…. guys. pregnant trans men exist irl. trans women get people pregnant irl. trans ppl’s ability and right to parent and have biological children are being debated irl. we get denied the opportunity to adopt as well.

in a climate like this, are we SURE we want the stance on rewrites and headcanons in the silly cat books to be “if you portray trans characters having children, especially with a gay couple, youre a transphobic freak no matter what!” does it really matter? especially if its being done by a trans person handling the topic with nuance who has a lot of trans characters with varying perspectives?

obviously yes, remember that thats not the only way certain gay couples can have kids, remember that not every trans person is fully comfortable with it and keep that in mind, remember that surrogacy and adoption are also perfectly valid ways to give fan babies- but remember that there are OPTIONS. not that you need to condemn the idea of transgender parents in the first place unless they fit the very specific criteria of “proper transgender representation” and anything that dares deviate from that is proof the op is a transphobic monster (bonus points if theyre a trans creator bc i mostly see trans people getting shit for this and it kinda pisses me off. although idm if cis people do it either as long as theyre handling it with respect)
