i did have a bit of fun trying to figure out genderbend names for the Dumbledores. theyve got this colour theme AND theyve got all A's:

Albus (white)

Aberforth (it means "from the river" but someone figured a river near a? town important to JKR?? is basically called black river??? yeah this ones a bit of a reach but considering the others...)

Ariana (silver)

Aurelius (gold)

so after some uh scuffed googling i eventually i ended up with:

Clara (clear)

Ciara (dark)

Cecil (blind)

Calypso (conceal)

i think dumbledore was growing weed in the forbidden forest the whole time and that’s why it was forbidden. that’s also why he acts the way he does.

Ok, but listen. Harry goes back in time and decides to get rid of Tom Riddle AU, but the sorting hat goes like ??? when it reads Harry's mind. Idk it just irks me how the sorting hat is so understanding in most time travel fics, at best it puts Harry in a house he didn't want to be. But just imagine if it actually tells on Harry, full great hall drama with the hat going like "HE'S HERE TO MURDER SOMEONE"

And ofc Tom is instantly obsessed with the murder boy.

We know they had a garden, that is mentioned in Deathly Hallow when Aberforth is talking to Harry about Ariana. So she could have grown all kinds of ingredients and sold potions from their home, sending them via post so she wouldn't have needed people to physically visit. I don't think the family was well off, but she might have been able to earn at least a comfortable living that way.

Aberforth and Albus were at Hogwarts throughout the year.

The Dumbledore children were left with little money after Kendra's death, so they were probably not living on ready money. Kendra had to work.

How did she work when the brothers were at school? Having someone taking care of Ariana seems hard. Did she only work when Aberforth and Albus were back, saved as much as she could and they lived on scraps for the rest of the year? Did they have any help from Honoria? If they had so little, how was Albus able to go on his trip in Greece? Did he earn some money of his own already, possibly by having already published articles?

I just want the small details.

Imagine if Tom Riddle got hired for the Defense teaching job right after Hogwarts. Dumbledore and Tom have the craziest workplace beef ever. Dippet is still the Headmaster and he has no idea what’s going on. The two most powerful wizards of all time are having the world’s intensest staring contest in the teachers break room. Tom doesn’t become the Dark Lord because he’s too busy grading papers. Nagini and Fawkes become friends which pisses off both Tom and Albus, they have to set up play dates for their familiars and they are so bitter about it.
