09/13/23: It was a great day for me today! Both the fleamarket and thrift store had good things. First things I found were two SingStar microphones for $5.00. Then, for $8.00, I got a toy transformer, a bluray, a racing ps3 game, and a mini artbook for Devil May Cry 4. After this, for $7.00, I got a ps1 NASCAR game, a James Bond 007 dvd set, and a Star Wars bluray set. I then found a nice stack of comics and graphic novels on a table. I thought about getting a few, but then realized I can make an offer for everything. So I said how much for everything, guy replied $35. Sure, I'll take them. And as I was leaving his stall, I saw a guy grab some ps3 games. Damn, I missed some. So I went to the tub that he got them from and pulled out two that he missed. Since I got books from him, it looks like he sold me the games cheaper. $3.00 each was excellent. And the last thing I found was Ghost rider dvd for a dollar.

I got lucky at the Salvation Army Store too. Looks like someone overlooked a box full of videogames. On top of them were some dishes and kitchen stuffs. But as I looked through it, I spotted Wii and Wii U games underneath. I dumped the rest in another box and grabbed my little haul. It had plenty of Nintendo goodies in it and also some PS stuff too. Almost all the games have light scratches and fingerprints. But they just need a little TLC and should play right. Plus, some wii accessories and a plug for a mini console. I paid $70 plus tax for the whole lot. Good stuff to make my day.

I got four Poirot dvds, the first three seasons of Grimm, the second season of bobs burgers, the great mouse detective, and four don knotts movies!!!

Im set for life. I will never need anything else ever again.

These men would happily watch any Barbie movie with you. Will they admit that? No, absolutely not. Will they, however, watch the film from beginning to end without missing even a single second? Yes, absolutely.

They might've been skeptical the first time you offered it, but overtime they didn't complain and instead.. fully enjoyed the new Friday tradition. In fact, if you get into bed and put something else on, they might ask you themselves to put on a Barbie film instead.

"You enjoy them wholeheartedly, sweetheart. I like spending time with you regardless of what we're doing."

They're full of crap, and you know this too. Still, they're your own little princesses which you'd do anything for to amuse them.

That includes "believing" them when they tell you they enjoy watching the films for you, and not themselves.

i know that disney is too big to boycott effectively but that shouldn't translate to "and so we should keep buying their products like normal" but rather "at the very least we should try"

we as a society have lost our culture when we let VHS tapes die. and now they're killing DVDs. is the physical not sacred anymore?

Buy physical media. Buy CDs. Buy records. Buy tapes. Buy books. Buy physical artwork or prints. Take photos of yourself and get them developed at a photo processing booth. Write your thoughts down in a journal. Why? Because as this world get more digital, what's physical will slowly but surely disappear. There will be less things you can touch and feel, and more things that you can see and not touch. You can post all the digital pics you want on social media...nothing is assured and those pics and those platforms could be gone in an instant. An album on streaming platforms will never be the same as the original album in your hand with the liner notes, as versions of that album can get removed, and/or replaced with re-recorded material (since the artist doesn't own their masters). Books go out of print. And staring at a jpeg (no matter how much you paid for it *cough cough* NFTs) of an artwork will never be the same as owning the actual artwork or a print of it.

Preserve these things. If not for yourself, then for future generations.

02/29/24: I had a most awesome leapday shopping for stuff today! Drove to Yuma Arizona and hit up my usual spots. But before heading that way, i first went to my closet Salvation army store. For $5.00, I found an unopened copy of myst on PC and a kids yokaiwatch. I then drove fifty minutes away to start my main trip. Goodwill was okay. I found some clothes and a hardback marvel #comic. Also some new movies. doompatrol and brucelee dvds! At one pawnshop I found a sealed bluray of Preacher for $4.00 and at another pawnshop, I found xbox games. $16.00 bucks for four of them and since evilwithin was a bit scratched up, I got it for free. I went to the three walmarts in the area. They had quite a bit of clearance videogames, but nothing I haven't seen or bought already. Hopefully it will drop more soon. calistoprotocol was $10 as well as ghosbusters spirits unleashed and sonic origins plus was $20. Most likely its new lower price. And I got a varied selection of gamestop games too. From two stores, those in the pic. With the most expensive being the diofield chronicle for $20. A fun day of exciting finds for me!
