there is no official verdict yet because i havent gotten there yet AGH. there's so many different universes i thought it would take me forever to get done with 616 (which it is) then with dawning horror i realized there's over 150 different marvel universes (200 if you count the wiki's numbering too???). idk if theres a venom in each one and even if so, theyre nowhere near as developed as 616, but still. Gah

anyway i think i'm probably approaching the multiverse thing wrong. logically i know they're different universes and so anything goes really, but i can't help but agonize over it a bit, like, can't we at least keep the basic core of the story? i begin going on about #NotMyEddie, but then i sit back and realize it is quite literally not my eddie. so i gotta get into that "anything goes" mindset so i stop getting annoyed

that is to say, based on your description of it, i find myself conflicted. my first reaction is to be vaguely annoyed by the idea of """eddie""" like, CREATING the symbiote instead of meeting it, and also that venom in that universe has a spiderperson as the host instead of like, literally anyone else, because isn't the point of venom to be the antithesis to spiderman....like obv in 616 the symbiote had bonded to spiderman but it wasnt VENOM until it had bonded with eddie, and subsequent hosts. but on the other hand gwenom is a really great name so i understand why they went that route lmfao

overall i'd like to withhold any true judgment until i read it for myself. but also i do enjoy bitching and complaining about every little thing, so

I had a dream where school ended and I was leaving and Elias Bouchard was literally just there. and I said "i know who you are" and he responds with "Oh. do you now?"

then MY DREAM CUT TO BLACK and a flat drawing of an eye.

i then woke up

I also had a dream where it was pure darkness then just Michael sipping tea at a glass table, a bit away from me, 5-9 feet away

He just looked at me. then the tea. then looked me from my shoes to my hair, smiled

I later had a very smilar dream with drumbot brian and not michael and with hot cocoa rather then tea, and him just inviting me to have some. I woke up *right* as I was about to walk over.

I’m trying to keep up with the genie story and the hidden lore, j am very confused on the jelly bean curse

that’s very understandable, the details on the jelly bean curse are a bit vague at the moment, and nothing has explicitly been confirmed yet. but here’s what i can tell you; in s1 the jelly beans where said to be the professor’s poop (just a nice little bonus for you there), but i’m not thinking we should put too much weight to that bc they weren’t rlly being that intentional with the lore back then. 

but okay, s2, in the newest episode (the world's greatest/rudest samurai) we as usual see the guest, here garrick bernard, win, and we also see him eat a jelly bean, which appears to turn him into a puppet, not unlike the professor. this of course raises a lot of question; did the professor once eat a jelly bean that turned him into a puppet? is he trying to turn other people into a puppet now? is that somehow related to why he hasn’t let ryan win? are all the previous guest puppets now? why haven’t everybody who eaten a jelly bean turned into a puppet? do you have to win and then eat the jelly bean for that to occur?

nobody really knows, we’ve just gotten a lot of small pieces of lore which everyone is trying a bit to piece together like the puzzle it apparently is. but some of the theories rn (that i’ve seen), is that the genie turned the professor into a puppet (maybe by the power of a jelly bean), and bc of that he either has to turn other people into puppets (to become human again?), or just wants to, so he doesn’t have to be a puppet alone(?). or maybe he’s just a puppet that wants puppet world domination and he’s just created puppet university as a cover-up in his evil evil scheme. or some other variation of those theories or something else entirely, but i do think that the genie is somehow tied into the jelly bean curse, and that that also has something to do with why the professor became a puppet (maybe bc he wished to see all his favourite historical events, and you can’t live that long as human?(so the wish backfired?)), and then that’s all tied to him appearing to be turning humans into puppets. but this is all just speculation, i really couldn’t tell you anything quite for sure.

however, i do expect that we in the last episodes this season will get some clarity, or at least a bigger clue that’ll kinda tie all the other clues together, to at least have the outline of what exactly has happened. but who knows? i guess we’ll just have to see :’)

@dylchillvill Well, yeah, right now we are meant to think it was just the guy messing up his name, but if Jake does turn out to have a Scottish accent in this it would add to the detail of that scene, people will point to the scene as foreshadowing we ‘missed’. And Steven Grant wasn’t British in the comics either — originally Marvel was just going to have Oscar Isaac hold himself differently for each identity à la Split, but Isaac himself pushed for different accents for the different identities. The MCU changes things all the time.

I feel like we can edge away from the ‘who is guessing right’ kind of game, because all of these are interesting a valid theories, and it’s great that the show is making us ask questions and holding our interest this much as it is. We can all openly hold conversation about this and it’s cool that we’re having ideas - hooray! 🥳

Personally I like to think it’s foreshadowing too, but I guess we’ll find out soon either way.

Also I’m grateful that Oscar Isaac did pitch for different accents and put that forward, rather than just having the alters hold themselves differently, which as far as (the very little that) I know is common with DID? And honestly anything taking a step away from Split is probably good. Not to say that what we’ve seen so far is good DID representation because, uh… it’s hard to summarise a work without seeing the entirety, it’s also fantasy horror with an Egyptian god in the head and that’s obviously going to sway the experience too — and this isn’t even what we’re talking about at the moment, SO.

So I think I’m actually going to do this “Henrys” Heathers AU, and I’ve been coming up with some ideas (Although bear in mind I’m a college student and updates will be slow).

First of all, @dylchillvill has generously allowed me to use the idea that Hyde is JD. Jekyll isn’t going to be all that mean - just egotistical, dramatic, and insecure about his reputation (this is inspired by Jekyll’s “wild” youth in the Strange Case”), and will try to test the HJ7 on Clerval, but “Veronica” (I’m going to change her name to something more Victorian) will stop Clerval from drinking it and dump it in Jekyll’s coffee instead, permanently turning him into Hyde and making “Veronica” think he’s dead. His hatred of Victorian society will live on in Hyde, who will start off as a less insecure version of Jekyll.

Wotton will be implied to have “corrupted” Jekyll like he does Dorian in TPODG. He rattles on about how great hedonism is, and how Victorian society is hypocritical and repressed, but doesn’t actually practice what he preaches.

Clerval will be Martha and McNamara combined - I’m sorry, but I struggle with large casts of characters. He will have a crush on “Kurt”.

“Kurt and Ram” will be given victorian names. They will be vampires. I do not believe this needs further explanation.

I’m setting it in a university instead of a school, and the “Slurpee” will be replaced with cucumber ice cream because apparently the Victorians made that a thing??
