ah, some more learning about Fake Biology today! ✨✨

in a sense, yes, Fakey is able to gain weight! the way he works is different though: everything that gets eaten/absorbed is directly converted into more of the Goop that makes up his body. so say, a 5 pound chicken, that amounts to 5 pounds worth of Goop added to him. (minus potential things that can't be absorbed, such as bones.)

but here's where it gets interesting; since everything's getting absorbed in the "stomach" area, it leads to all new Goop being formed there, and it only moves to the rest of his body if he allows it to. this can lead to problems, though... if for instance, Fakey were to go out on a day of binge-eating, he'd end up quite bloated unless he's got the strength to properly distribute his new mass. and considering most of the time when he's eaten a lot he ends up sluggish and tired... he usually ends up staying like that for a bit.

... but hey! at least after a bit he'll be able to turn back to normal, once his body burns all that excess new weight off.

however...... on the off-chance that he DOES have the strength to shift that weight properly throughout his body, well, that's a different story. either because he wants to eat more and not feel bloated, or just doesn't want to lie around all day... it's a lot rarer than the former case, but if it DOES happen...

it's a slightly, erm... big problem.

About freaking time they made this change! You can use Remote Raid passes for Shadow Raids starting May13 at 2pm EST (May19 for Max Raids), and this change will be permanent going forward!

Edit, additional changes:

The daily limit on remote raids will be raised to 10.

The Max Particles limit will also be raised from 1000 to 1500.

In-person Max Battles will now reward more Premier Balls and XP than before.

The remote raid limit will be raised further during events. It’ll be 20 raids May24-25.

hey so i've been shiny hunting xerneas for a decent amount of time now (since january of this year) and my luck is Bad. like at least half of my runs (if not more) have the NPCs be straight-up morons and xerneas loves to randomly swap between being as dumb as they are and having 200 IQ so needless to say, the hunt has been Exhausting. i didn't even get my first non-legendary shiny from these runs until like last month. 100+ den raids and zero shinies is over-odds for those who don't know how these fun things work. awesome right

today the NPCs decided to be a special flavor of stupid so me being Angy, i decided to cancel the run and go for zygarde instead. i have it and giratina saved as backups and also because i wanna shiny hunt them at some point. i go into the fight on two hearts with exactly 1 ice type and me on ditto, but i guess RNG was being merciful after the bullshit from before because we actually manage to kill it

I'm usually not a big fan of the max battles in Pokémon Go. I've never thought it was worth a trip into town and attempting to congregate a group to raid with, since the feature isn't really that important to me. Mostly because it's really reliant on being with other people and thanks to my social anxiety and the fact that the community for Belfast isn't too major, meant I couldn't really get into it.

Though today I was already in town and had known about the raid day and decided to chance my arm and see if I can slip in to a raid. Gigantamax Snorlax is one of my favourite designs for a Pokémon ever (I think gmax mons are quite overlooked) and really wanted to snag one for my collection. Not even looking for good IVs or usefulness in the max battles, just wanted one of the guy in my collection to look at.

After a 10 minute wander around city centre, a party started to form at a max raid spot that I had to jog a little to get to. I got in with 17 other people and successfully caught myself the big guy :DD was pretty weird because I didn't find the party of people I was raiding with, they must've walked off as soon as they queued which was a bit of a bummer, but I was happy. 🩵✨

In battle when you Dynamax you can use 3 options: Max Guard to protect against damage, a Max Move and Max Spirit which will provide recovery to both your Pokémon and ally Pokémon. Each Dynamax Battle has a limited amount of turns to complete, you need to be more strategic.

1⭐ Max Raids require 250 Max Particles to enter. You can earn Max Particles by walking to Power Spots. Max Battles cannot be done remotely.

Only 4 people can participate in Max Battles at one time and you can use only 3 Pokémon and they have to be Dynamax capable to participate.

Pokémon can only be Dynamax capable if caught from Max Battles. Dynamax capable Pokémon can be used in all other facets of the game but will be unable to Dynamax during it.

You have the ability to upgrade the rewards from Max Battles using Poké Coins. In the example given, you could get an additional Golden Razz Bery, Rare, Candy, Hyper Potion and 10 Premier Balls for 100 Poké Coins

Power Spots, where Max Battles are located, can be found at random locations but don't take over existing Gyms or PokéStops

Max Move performance can be improved using Max Particles and Candy XL
