is it weird that I imagine modern!akemi as some earthy hippiecore babe?? obviously, I don't headcanon her as an actual hippie cause I feel like she would've grown up too spoiled for that, but like in the sense that she dresses the part. browns, greens, patchwork skirts and crochet. to me modern!akemi looks like she should be selling you potions in an indie rpg game, and I absolutely love that. although, I do also like the girly girl mcbling modern!akemi I often see people draw. so maybe a mix of the two is best for her?? I have yet to draw her in my modern au so that's something I'm definitely gonna explore more often (⁠´⁠ε⁠｀⁠ ⁠)

I’m so glad you asked!

So russet potatoes (the regular brown kind) tend to dissolve into the broth. Good for potato soup! Makes the broth thick and filling. Less good if you like big chunks. If you want a potato to hold it’s shape without breaking apart when cooked, you’ll want red or yellow potatoes.

But I wanted to do both! So for my soup (guinness beef stew) I planned to use one large russet potato so it would dissolve into the broth and a handful of small yellow potatoes for chunks. Except at the store I found a bag of mixed baby potatoes! It contained red, yellow, and purple potatoes!! So obviously I wasn’t going to pass up on that.

Thus, four kinds of potatoes!

#the soup is v good btw!!#i like the purple ones. they’re a little earthy and a little sweet but they don’t clash with the others #red potatoes aren’t my favorite tbh but they have their place (imo mostly in roasted form)#(but they’re also necessary for crawfish boils and i live too close to louisiana to knock those)#my favorite are yellow potatoes they’re very smooth and buttery #have i ever mentioned that i once toured a potato factory #i have the shirt still #ask #typeoneninja #sepulchritudinous
