To continue celebrating the Spooky Season, here’s the second movement from “Nevermore”— “Annabel Lee”, based on the Edgar Allan Poe classic poem! Did you know this was the final complete poem Edgar Allan Poe wrote before he died? Seems appropriate somehow…. 🤔
Listen to it on your favorite platform now!

Okay playing the characthers from different universes played Joey Ritcher are relared for funsies:
The Spankoffski brothers, Owen Carvour and Uncle Willey (Wilbur Cross) are all related. Owen is Wilburs direct descendant and the reason he decided to join Peip before getting lost to the Black and White (Wiggly found particularly funny that the traitor spy via torturous brainwashing was a common family theme), the Spankoffski are more distantly related but still related. The common denominator on their family tree: they are all descendents of Ernest Hemingway but only the one from Poe's Murder Mystery Dinner Party.
Evidence: he has the same humor as Ted and holds an apple the same way Wilbur does.
They are all also somewhat related to the Bandit King but no one one (me included) has any idea how.

hi hello!! what kind of metal do you think bsd characters like
me personally
atsushi: power metal bc he's a nerd (affectionate). also definitely nu or industrial
kunikida: black metal. (this makes me so happy for some reason, i always like it when ppl make kunikida a wild card)
chuuya: sludge🐌 metal lmao. but also. bro is the biggest NWOBHM enthusiast. loves thrash. loves groove metal. likes nu but prefers old school. the only one i hc as a full-on metalhead on this list (also maybe yosano)
yosano: gives me melodic death metal vibes for some reason (she could be into all types of death metal tbh. she's inherently metal. i love her sm, she's so cool)
akutagawa: gothic metal. you saw this coming from a mile away. but otherwise i don't think he's that big on metal tbh. which is good bc he'd be the biggest metal elitist ever. calls you a poser in victorian child speak. (he's into gothic rock and dark wave. but i don't think he'd be an elitist in the goth subculture, idk why. he's probably super chill actually. would rant about goth for hours if you mention it around him. he's actually waiting for you to mention it with the biggest bug-eyed stare ever.)
tachihara: crossover thrash. bc he likes hardcore punk
sigma: symphonic metal bc he's a pretty princess
dazai not included bc i don't think he likes metal?? i think he's more into grunge tbh
ranpo can't stand metal imo
poe listens to gothic rock only i think
that's it byeeee
edit bc i forgot gin!! i must be out of my mind bc she's more metal than all of them combined
gin: girl listens to everything metal. the most knowledgeable on this matter. metal encyclopaedia basically. probably runs the metal archives website. is in a band most likely. she plays bass. you rarely catch her without earphones (which you would think would be impractical bc she needs to be aware of threats at all times but. you will still never catch her off guard even w sepultura playing at 100000000000 volume. she's that good. i love her sm. i will never be able to repent for forgetting to mention her here)

Radio 3 aired a whole hour+ programme of music and reading about and inspired by Antarctica.
If you call to mind an image of Antarctica, it is likely you will come up with something informed by the heroic but ultimately unsuccessful Endurance Expedition led by Sir Ernest Shackleton. That’s because the extraordinary photographs and film from that trip planted the so-called White Continent in our imaginations for ever. Shackleton, who was born in Ireland in February 1874 before moving to London as a boy, might be best known for that failed trip but the fact that his crew survived, when so many did not, is now seen as a credit to his exceptional leadership skills. Today’s Words and Music is a tribute to the frozen landscape that inspired the heroic age of exploration. It is not just remote - it contains the world's highest, driest, coldest and windiest places. And these days it’s a hub of scientific discovery, international diplomacy and environmental change too. We’ll hear fiction from Beryl Bainbridge to Edgar Allan Poe, poetry from Samuel Taylor Coleridge to Derek Mahon, memoir from Jenny Diski and Sara Wheeler as well David Attenborough, Maori scientists and other Polar Explorers. Alongside you’ll hear hugely varied music inspired by Antarctica from Vaughan Williams to Tanya Ekanayaka, from The Muppets to Nigel Westlake and Cab Calloway. Our readers are Jessica Turner and John Lightbody.

NEVERMORE FANS, PLEASE HELP.
Days ago, I created a private playlist on youtube of nevermore ,with the soundtracks and one song which was mentioned in a panel (Eulalie was singing it) and SOME classical music that could maybe fit the aesthetic of nevermore, BUT LIKE-
Do you guys can actually advise me some songs that could maybe fit in the nevermore playlist?
I wanted to stay in the dark academia/classical music style, not much in the pop one (if you know what I mean). If you have something please tell me I'm CRAVING for more songs to fit into the playlist (it's for my own fake scenarios).
Btw this is also a nevermore's soundtrack appreciation because the music is FIRE.

Alone (Demonic Mix) - January 2022
After a very long break I finally got back into music making in 2022. I had started messing around with a few samples in Lockdown in 2020, but didn't get around to finishing anything.
This was a track I worked on a few years earlier, with different vocals. I was never totally happy with it, and that hung around in the back of my mind for years, I had unfinished business with this track!
So I revisited it and found Kara's wonderful rendition of Alone by Edgar Allan Poe on ccMIxter. It was a perfect fit. I did think about adding the original vocals back in, with one on each channel à la The Murder Mystery, but decided against it as I had messed around with them so much trying to mask them, and couldn't find the original.
The demonic voice in the background is actually a slowed down sample of speech from a well known Sci-Fi movie. At one point it reveals itself.
Reviews for Alone (Demonic Mix) on ccMixter and Looperman:
Deeply cool groove.
Hey Kirkoid! It’s great to see you here! I really dig your dark, hypnotic mix with those crisp, catchy drums. Thanks so much for including my vox.
Wow, what a fantastic intro my friend. Great track. Well done, Maj.
Cool, it is retro and future at the same time. awesome!
Really creative work and like Maj said, the intro was pretty awesome. Well done. I hope all is well. Bear

So, Chuuya is finally back home in Yokohama/Ithaca and he's hunting down all the men that dared try to claim Dazai while he was away and who tried to kill his daughter, Aya. Enjoy King, when we eventually get all the songs, I plan to go back and redo a lot of these partials. For now, enjoy the snippets.
