pre-publishing notes for extras part one (coming tomorrow i pray 🙏🏽 if not tmr than next saturday 🥺) for those interested

i am incredibly busy this wk so the final final edit of my fics isn’t gonna come till later, like next Wednesday or the weds after that or something.

but do not worry i am not changing anything major, unlike in previous edits. It’s just fixing little stuff (hyphenation, some grammar, places where AO3 fucked my italics, changing “chief naval officer” to chief of naval operations [i literally have no clue how that error happened as i got it right in some places and wrong in a bunch of other places like wtaf], removing brand names that show idk what the fuck im talking about, etc.). The most substantial edit is I’m adding one sentence to the slider one-shot where ice tries to convince slider that he and maverick are only tying the knot for financial purposes, and “so the govt doesn’t fuck one of us when the other dies for real.” that sentence was in my original draft and idk why it got removed.

i will not be editing the hangman one shot (besides fixing the proposal date), the airplane one shot, or the wingmen one shot because i do not really care for them and they have been overwritten by other sections of my fics. the bradley one shot is also pretty much going untouched

ONTO THE EXTRAS. Unlike some of my other fics which are M-rated & therefore kind of implicit, these extras are a littol bit edgy & explicit. Not beating around the bush anymore. I am warning for possible triggers, mostly related to disordered eating and, like, a BUNCH of casual suicidal ideation/discussion of suicide. Also it’s E-rated.

however that isn’t to say it’s not mostly fluff lol. there’s SOME sex but u know me.. it is sex as symbol not sex as sex... (You know what they say, $20 is $20 and writing practice is writing practice) I wanted to expand the scope of my original fics—more politics, more complications, more backstory, so that’s mostly what it is. Not everything revolves around goose anymore. It’s also about the rest of the world

“I know you took it,” you said, crossing your arms on your breasts. The heels of your black leather boots echoed in the apartment when you turned to face him.

“Took your breath away by that heated kiss, sexy, certainly. Otherwise I did not take anything.” Jungkook scoffed, crossing his arms defensively. The tension in the room was palpable as you square your shoulders, refusing to back down. You blinked twice at his cheesiness. The tip of your tongue moved to rest on the bottom of your upper teeth, your smile spreading on your face. The chuckle came out of you so naturally, laughing at his ridiculously ridiculous behaviour.

“Don’t play dumb, I know it was all you. You malicious sabotaging petty boy—” You retorted, articulation perfectly clear while the words laced with underlying frustration and anger.

He sighed, weariness settling over him. “You think I stole your portfolio to sabotage your career? You’re giving me too much credit, love.” Here he comes.

“I said nothing about my portfolio, Jungkook.” You said playing with his name on your tongue. A tense silence hung in the air as he considered your words, clicking his tongue, clearly annoyed and you were just getting started.

“I managed to figure that out. A drink?—” He offered, shrugging her statements of like snow in summer whilst he moved to the small bar that was a part of his spacious living room.

“I don’t want a drink, Jungkook. I want it back now,” you replied, your tone cutting through the casual offer. The anger in your gaze intensified, fuelled by the frustration of dealing with his nonchalant attitude.

“Let’s talk, baby.” He gestured towards the living room, as if trying to usher you into a more comfortable setting for the impending confrontation. He knew this was just a little shower, the real storm was still far away, giving him space to prepare.

As you moved, you couldn't help but notice the contrast between your demeanour and his. While your arms were still crossed defensively, his posture exuded a calm confidence that irked you further.

You took a seat on the edge of the sofa, not willing to fully settle into the illusion of camaraderie. Jungkook, on the other hand, sprawled onto a nearby chair, the picture of nonchalance.

“I need that portfolio to get a job because a certain someone has to be bitchy and sabotage my whole career because his big ass ego cannot take rejection. Give it to me,” you fired off, your words sharp and accusatory. He leaned back in the chair, smirking.

“Those are very bold words, Y/N. I would prefer to think of it as a wake-up call for you, not sabotage.” Your incredulous glare only intensified.

“Are you fucking serious Jungkook? A wake up call? You’ve just jeopardised everything I’ve worked for, and you’re calling this a wake up call?”

He leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees, his gaze locked onto yours.

“I can get you a better job.”

You scoffed. The audacity of his response fuelled the simmering anger within you.

“You can’t get a shit, so give it back to me, and I’ll be on my way,” you requested.

Jungkook’s smirk remained, an infuriating mix of arrogance and nonchalance.

“No,” he said, smiling. Your hands clenched into fists at your sides, the frustration reaching a boiling point. He leaned back, seemingly unperturbed by your rising anger.

“What do you mean no?!” you shot back, your voice sharp.

“You were about to make a decision that would have consequences beyond your imagination. I had to intervene.”

“What the fuck are you on again?” Jungkook’s gaze remained fixed on you, the intensity of his stare almost unnerving while your voice went an octave higher. Your frustration reached its peak, and you stood up, pacing the room as you ranted. You were breathing heavily, trying to calm yourself.

You needed that portfolio, it was a collection of years of a work and your best work to be specific. The lousy new version won’t get you a job at no high-profile fashion brand and you cannot afford to go lower than your last position.

“Alright—” You said defeated, turning yourself to face him again, you put off your black leather jacket and fixed your low ponytail, slumping back to his sofa. Spreading your arms on the backrest and cross your legs.

Jungkook took a moment to breathe in the sight before him; he was throbbing for you.

“—what do you want?” you asked. He leaned back further into the chair, putting his masculine tattooed arms to rest on the back of his head, showing his abs from under the white tank top he is wearing.

“What do I want?” he mused, as if contemplating the question but he already knew.

“Spill it out.” You barked and he chuckled at your eagerness. He got up from his seat and dangerously slowly walked towards you.

When he reached you, both of his arms pressed to the leather of the sofa inches from you, caging your body. Your breath stammered as you looked at him towering over you, the golden chain around his neck hanging.

“Firstly, I want you to be my good girl, apologise for being a brat the other day and admit there is an “us”. Secondly—” he whispered seductively, closing the approximate distance while doing so. He was right in your face, looking over at your lips evidently he was controlling himself to not attack them. He invaded your personal space. The sudden shift in atmosphere left you breathless, and you could feel the heat radiating between you.

You squared your shoulders, refusing to succumb to the intoxicating energy he exuded. “I won’t apologise for any shit, now secondly?” You said while trying to hold your horses. You hate to admit your pussy was clenching and leaking under his gaze. He was attractive, and no one could deny that.

His fingers grazed your cheek gently, a teasing touch that sent a jolt of electricity through your body. You swallowed hard, trying to maintain a semblance of composure.

“I want these feisty little plump lips wrapped around my thick cock—”

When the first time it happened - both of you were drunk. 

Much to your dismay, it was one of those cliched turn-of-events that you hate with your full chest. 

Not that you didn’t know who Kim Taehyung is but still company gatherings are basically incomplete without “I am x from x department. Looking forward to working with you.” 

So you smiled at him politely, when he approached you, all while trying not to appear too flushed as the rich timbre of his voice grazed the back of your neck.

If he saw heat creeping up to the tip of your ears, he didn’t say anything. 

And then everything happened in a flash. At one moment he was offering to drop you home saying that he had called in a designated driver and the next moment, he was pushing your body against your bedroom door, kissing you as if he had waited the entire evening just for this. 

“I wanted to do this! All evening!” Taehyung confirmed, grunting when your tongue trespassed into his mouth. His words were tangled, you understood those nonetheless. 

“You wanted to kiss me all evening? You didn’t even know who I was.” you teased him as you hand did an exceptional job in undoing his necktie and removing his button-up within a few seconds. 

His hand roamed all over your body as if he didn’t know where to start from. 

“Umm.. So what? I knew your face. We have seen each other a couple of times in the elevator, cafeteria, once in a meeting too!” Taehyung replied upon scratching his memory, his hands finally started unzipping your dress, “it is a part of why I approached you today.” 

You knew you should never feel giddy during these kinds of situations. He could, very well, be saying those things only to get inside your pants. But the little flutter in your stomach was beyond your control. 

Taehyung is, after all, known as the most handsome man in the company and he is completely deserving of that title. 

He is all about dark hair, siren eyes, tall and towering weight, lopsided smiles that can turn into full boxy ones if you match his vibe. 

You won’t be exaggerating if you say that he is the most good looking human you have ever witnessed in your life. And a man as handsome as him saying that he intentionally approached you, strokes your ego for sure. 

When he left your apartment the next morning after he made sure that you had his number saved in your phone as “taetae”, your heart was gone alongside him.

As a result, the second time comes more naturally. And this time none of you have a drop of alcohol in your system, which means you have to take the full responsibility for your actions. 

Taehyung hands mold against your smaller frame so naturally that it surprises you. It’s impossible to hold someone so intimately after having sex just once. 

But he does it. 

He holds you, kisses you, presses your body on his as if he means it all. You give him access without thinking much. 

“Never thought a harmless coffee invitation would turn out this way.” Taehyung mumbles as he nips on the skin of your throat. You moan his name as sweetly as possible.

Guess That Ship Tournament Season 12: Submissions CLOSED!

The Concept: You describe your ship* to me, I pick out the submissions which I find most compelling and pit them against each other without revealing who they are, people vote on them, and their identities gets revealed once they’re eliminated.

Submission Guidelines

*For the purpose of this tournament, relationships do not have to be romantic in nature. (I’m sometimes going to use “ship” as a shorthand, just know I mean “relationships” in general.)

Relationship can be between any number of characters.

Real people are accepted if they’ve been dead for more than 100 years.

Roleplay characters are accepted as long as the description only pertains to the characters and not the players.

Crossover ships are only allowed if the crossover is official.

OCs are accepted. (However, OC x Canon is not accepted. Please do not submit other people's OCs without their permission.)

No overtly NSFW submissions. (Mentioning they have sex or are a sex worker is fine, but try to avoid anything more than that.)

Two submission per person. (Do not submit the same ship twice. I cannot enforce this on Google Forms without forcing you to log in. So just be champs and respect this rule.)

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in all of your submissions being disqualified for this season.

Summary Guidelines

Selection Process: I will read through the list of descriptions submitted without reading their names and pick the most compelling submissions. Then, I will check the name to make sure there's no repeats.

Keep it concise, but also bring something unique to the table. Make sure to describe their relationship, not just summarize the events of the story.

Previous submissions for reference. The ideal submission should be 2-3 paragraphs, but you can make it as short or long as you want. Please keep in mind the longer your submission, the less likely it is to get in.

Tips on what to avoid while writing a summary can be found here.

Descriptions should be based on canon, not headcanon. (e.g. You can say “they love each other” instead of “they’re lovers” if their romantic nature is debatable.)

Avoid author commentary. (e.g. "They're canonically x," "I love them," "Play/watch/read this," etc.)

Use canonical pronouns.

Avoid identifying information or setting specific giveaways. (i.e. Ninja village, space necromancers.)

When submitting OCs, please make sure to at least put a name somewhere. (e.g. "John and Bob by anonymous" or "OCs by Joey.")

The more popular your ship is the more vague the description should be.

Exclusions

Ships that were accepted in Season 7 onwards and ships that at least reached the semifinals in Season 1-6 are not allowed. For a complete list, please look here. (No need to look through the whole list, just Ctrl+F to find the ship you want.)

Any submissions from Harry Potter will also not be included.

SPN Reader Insert FanFic Writing Challenge: Gender Studies

In our Discord server today, we had a great talk about Reader Insert fics and what tips and tricks we use to entertain our audience without alienating them. At the end of the chat, the subject of Gender Neutral Reader Inserts came up. The main point we all agreed on was that we need to strip away gender stereotypes and just write a basic person in order for a GNRIC (Gender Neutral Reader Insert Character) to work. We tried listing some of those gender stereotypes and did not come up with many besides women being more emotional and men being less likely to discuss feelings. That discussion brought us to this challenge.

Because we want as many writers as possible to join us for this, all participants will be entered into a drawing to win prizes from the Prize List!

What (earns you one entry into the drawing) - Write a one-shot two ways: once with a Female Reader Insert Character (FRIC) and then write the same story with a Male Reader Insert Character (MRIC). Pick a trope and a genre (use your favorites or you can use our SPN Prompt Generator for ideas), figure out a scenario, and then write the same basic story for each gender.

Bonus (earns you an additional entry into the drawing) - Write a third fic but with a GNRIC.

Additional Bonus (earns you an additional entry into the drawing) - Once you've written both, tell us how writing each one made you feel. What basic differences did you keep in mind as you were writing? What problems did you expect to run into, were those the same problems you actually had while writing, and what unexpected problems did you encounter?

Fic parameters -

At least 1000 words.

The pairing does not need to be romantic, but you will earn an extra entry into the drawing if the pairing is romantic.

The fic does not need to have smut, but you will earn an additional entry into the drawing if there is any level of smut. (Kissing and some fondling or something like phone sex is the minimum to earn the extra entry.)

Energy Update: Full Moon 29° Capricorn, 7/21/24 EDT

We won't worry about Venus, Mars, or Neptune here. In the scope of this energy, these are definitely incidentals.

The moon is in Capricorn for the second time in two months - a true astrological Blue Moon. Capricorn is our cardinal earth sign (ruled by Saturn) and, as the sun sign opposite of Cancer (the moon's domicile), is the sign of the Moon's detriment. The ever-changing moon is not at its best in the steady, weighted Capricorn.

Capricorn has been going through it for quite some time, as it has been the home of Pluto (our planet of death and transformation) since 2008. Currently, Pluto is at 00° Aquarius and slowly moving in retrograde back toward Capricorn for one last fated meeting.

That we are getting a second Capricorn full moonthat is in the last degree of Capricorn and so, SO close to Pluto says: now's the time.

Do the thing. Make the change. Let it go. Make a choice.

Capricorn and Saturn force us to show up for ourselves - or not. Consequence may reign supreme this weekend.

I would suggest you show up. Do the thing. I am not a stickler to doing magic on every full moon - at all - but this is one I wouldn't miss unless I was physically unable.

Capricorn is also the natural ruler of the 10th house and by far the horoscope's shrewd businessman (nongendered). Tomorrow is one of the best days of the year to do money magic, ESPECIALLY if it's toward a particular goal. Wanna buy a house? What about making 10,000$ extra next year? Those are well within the purview of a Capricorn moon.

This year has been full of Capricorn energy. We had a Capricorn new moon in January, Capricorn full moons in June and July, and we will see another Capricorn new moon in December.

There's still time to tap into this energy. Six months from now will be a Capricorn new moon - what do you want to have accomplished in six months? Set reasonable goals for yourself and then put one foot before the other until you get there. Celebrate on the new moon once it's done.

Tomorrow also marks the first of three squares between Mercury in Leo and Uranus in Taurus, which is THE big aspect of Mercury's upcoming retrograde cycle. This can be used for creativity of all kinds - Uranus is where we get inspiration and enlightenment. This adds a bit of volatility to the day, though; Mercury is quixotic at best, and Uranus is incredibly unpredictable.

Mercury and Uranus are two sides of the same coin, or at least they are intricately interwoven. Both are volatile enough to not particularly care that they are square with one another - they can work together anyway. Tomorrow is a great day to set intentions around creativity. Maybe to draw 3 days a week or to write for 20 minutes every day. Then, use that Capricorn energy of the moon to make it happen.

The energy is all lined up; we might as well use it.

it felt like yesterday when i was writing a message for lgc’s first anniversary and now that we’re celebrating the fifth one is something that shocks me sometimes! from starting off as a regular member, to a points and press mod, and now an admin that handles an array of tasks, i’ve seen quite a lot and if there’s anything that these anniversaries remind me of, it’s the dedication and commitment that everyone has to building and maintaining this community. i still remember seeing the first batch of muses receiving their 200 notoriety reward and the excitement and anticipation of wondering what that special 200 notoriety reward submit had to…well, 1,000 notoriety rewards happening! as someone who loves seeing the muses’ progression, it brings me joy whenever i see other muses reach certain milestones because not only does it show the dedication the mun has towards their muse, but the development the muse has gone through, just like the rp itself. legacy started off as a new rp but over time, changes and additions were made to make this rp awesome and a lot of that is thanks to everyone’s contributions. your suggestions, reactions, and even written posts, shaped legacy to be the way it is right now and will continue to do so in the future too! i’d also like to give a special shoutout to the past and present admod team members! legacy itself is quite a massive roleplay to take care of, but thank you so much for all of your effort and ideas! it makes me happy reading and seeing some of the projects being worked on behind the scenes from the admods and every time i hope that everyone else enjoys them too! as mentioned above, there are exciting things coming and i’m certain that the rest of 2024 and 2025 will be quite a ride too (trust me, some stuffs for 2025 have been planned since q2)! once again, thank you everyone for being a part of such a special moment and happy 5th anniversary to lgcrp!

Ladies, gentlemen, and those in between: the time has come once again! After yet another long winter’s time of gathering resources, the Higuri Regalia is proud to announce the return of the “Regalia Largesse” - marking its seventh occurrence!

For those unaware or uninitiated: The Regalia Largesse is an annual event spanning anywhere between 5-7 days that occurs around the late spring/early summer, and is considered the “pinnacle of Noblesse Oblige”!

During this event, individuals from the Higuri Regalia’s hierarchy will make appearances within the various city-states to offer wares to the adventuring public - FOR FREE (Tips and donations are always greatly appreciated, but never mandatory)!

On Sunday, June 16th, at around 7PM EDT, look for a Party Finder ad from any one of the Regalia members; they will provide you information on where they are, and what items will be offered, with a detailed list of what’s available while supplies last.  Due to the ever-increasing quantity of wares, their post duration has been extended to three hours. All locations take place on the Balmung World in the Crystal Data Center.

Also, throughout the week, starting at the commencement of the Largesse, those who are willing to partake in a special contest will receive a number.  On last day of that week (i.e. the end of  the Largesse), a raffle will take place where a series of numbers will be drawn, and those who win will be offered prizes!

RULES:

*To enter the raffle, simply ask the representative currently posted during that day; a tracker is kept throughout the course of the event, and is shared amongst the Regalia members.

You MUST attend the final day of the Largesse in order to qualify for a chance to win.

In the event you are unable to attend the raffle for any reason, you are allowed 1 proxy to vouch for you, so long as they state whom they are  replacing.

Hello rumor tracking anon, what's happening with Catherine's mother's Day's pic?

I have no idea what is real and what isn't any longer, with regard to the Wales'. The press routinely makes molehills into mountains when covering them, and the Squad just adds to the confusion. I'm very very confused. You and your analytical mind are my only hope here.

Hi there! Nothing like an internet tempest in a teacup to start (or finish) your Monday, right?

Basically the TL;DR of it is that KP posted a photo of Kate and the kids for UK Mother's Day yesterday. Everyone loved it, it went viral.

Then late yesterday afternoon (US time), the Associated Press (AP) - a US-based nonprofit news distribution agency that's popular and trusted worldwide - issued a "kill notice" on KP's photo, which essentially told their subscribers "hey, we think this photo isn't real, take it down and stop posting/publishing it until we can verify it." Two other wire services did the same thing.

How does a wire service like the AP work? They're a big newspaper with a huge reporting team around the world. Those reporters write stories for the AP (or your national wire service), the AP turns around and sells those stories to other publications ranging from big national media like The New York Times and The Washington Post to your local town crier newspaper. Those other publications (or subscribers, if you will) then publish the AP stories in their newspapers. If the AP doesn't have a reporter in whatever area where news is happening, then they'll contact a local reporter and buy their story for the wire service that they then sell to other publications. If you know how Getty Photography works, then think of the AP and the wire services as the news version.

Here's another quick explainer of how the AP works.

Now specifically for photographs, the AP - and other wire services - have a strict set of rules for editing and photoshopping. Apparently KP's photo didn't meet those rules so they retracted their circulation of the photo (killed it, in industry parlance). And when the AP did it, because they have an international reputation, a couple other wire services also did it, then social media picked up on it, then the royal reporters picked up on it, and presto. A media firestorm.

From what I can understand, there are three and a half main issues with the photo, from AP's perspective:

Charlotte's left wrist

Kate's right hand/Louis's right shoulder

The baseboard behind Louis's feet

The heel of Charlotte's right boot (this is the half - some people have pointed it out, the AP hasn't)

Social media is saying there are more problems/"fails" than these three or four items, such as: George's hands around Kate, Kate's hair, the zipper on Kate's jacket, the trees in the background show autumnal growth not spring growth, etc.

Then last night, a couple of the news organizations, including several from Fleet Street, reached out to Kensington Palace for comment and explanation. KP didn't respond, the reporters reported it, it kept going and the internet interneted, social media social media'd, and finally this morning (6:30am EDT/11:30am GMT), KP published a new statement from Kate clarifying that yes, she edited the photo as all photographers do and apologizing for any confusion. (Which, again, I think is bullshit. She didn't need to apologize for doing something that everyone else does.)

There's some speculation that the Sussexes or Sussex affiliates or Sussex bots tipped the AP off to look more closely at the photograph. I personally haven't seen any of that, but I have seen all the social media from Sussex Squad gloating about Kate/KP being caught red-handed "manipulating" the press and citing it as vindication in their anti-Kate crusade. I think they're overplaying their hand - yes, take the win but be careful. Meghan edits her photos too and gloating about Kate getting caught only means the Waleses' side is going to go after Meghan's photos that much harder.

I personally don't think this is a big deal, I do think it's ridiculous that it became the firestorm that it did, and I think you can tell in that post I've gotten a little fed up with how oversaturated such a non-story has become. But that's the side effect of 24/7 news and internet.

The Sky This Week from March 22 to 29: The Full Moon eclipsed

Gear up for the big game — April’s total solar eclipse — with a penumbral eclipse of the Full Worm Moon in the sky this week.

Saturday, March 23

The Moon reaches apogee, the farthest point from Earth in its orbit, at 11:45 A.M. EDT, when it will sit 252,460 miles (406,295 kilometers) away.

Our satellite is now in Leo, located to the lower right of the 2nd-mangitude star Denebola, which marks the tip of the Lion’s tail. The constellation is already high in the east by 9 P.M. local daylight time. To the Moon’s upper right, as part of the Sickle asterism that looks like a backwards question mark, lies Algieba (Gamma [γ] Leonis), a magnitude 2 double star whose components are just under 5″ apart and can be split in most backyard instruments.

Those components have just over a magnitude in difference between them, shining at magnitude 2.3 and 3.6. Take a close look at their colors — the brighter star should appear slightly more orange, while the dimmer is a bit more yellow-hued. The two stars take an estimated 510 years to orbit each other, and the brighter star, cataloged as Gamma1 Leo, hosts a gas giant planet nearly 9 times the mass of Jupiter.

The Toonami Trending Rundown for the month of May 2024. This past month saw the thrilling season finale of Ninja Kamui, which lead to the return of My Adventures with Superman for its season 2 premiere.

For the season finale of Ninja Kamui on the night of May 4-5, #Toonami trended in the USA alongside Ninja Kamui and Zom 100. One Piece also trended on Tumblr.

During the nights of May 11-12 and 18-19, the regular lineup got a fortnight off as Toonami marathon all 13 episodes Ninja Kamui over the two weeks. No trends were spotted on the first marathon night, but on the second, #Toonami would trend alongside Ninja Kamui on Twitter.

Finally, the night of May 25-26, My Adventures with Superman saw its second season premiere air on Toonami with an hour long special of the first two episodes. This also meant that Zom 100 had to take an additional third week off, in an ironic reminiscence of when the show saw significant delays during its original run in Japan. Both #Toonami and #MyAdventuresWithSuperman trended in the USA on Twitter and on Tumblr as a result.

According to My Adventures with Superman executive producer Jake Wyatt on The Showrunner Whisperer podcast, Seasons 3 and 4 for the show has been outlined and creatively approved, but he can't speak on whether they have been greenlit for production by DC and Warner Bros Animation. Of course, if you do wish to see future seasons of this show realized, be sure to tune in every Saturday (or set your DVRs) and catch up on the show by streaming the show on Max, adultswim.com, and other digital outlets.

May 31 saw a major milestone for Toonami as the block would be expanding to Friday afternoons with Toonami Rewind from 5-7 p.m. EDT. Sailor Moon returned to Toonami for the first time in 23 years to headline the inaugural Friday afternoon lineup, with the VIZ Media re-dub produced in 2014 starring Stephanie Sheh as Usagi. It was joined with an hour of DBZ Kai and OG Naruto. The trends for the premiere of Toonami Rewind, alongside the night of June 1-2, will be showcased on next week’s rundown; which I will have out tomorrow or Saturday.
