The Art of Allowing: Why Rushing Backfires
In our fast-paced world, patience can seem like an antiquated virtue. We’re conditioned to move quickly, multitask constantly, and force rapid results. But in many areas of life, this rushed mindset backfires. Like pulling harder on a Chinese finger trap, the more we struggle against time, the more stuck we become. Returning to the wisdom of slowing down and allowing life’s natural unfolding…

Brian Barrett at Wired (02.27.2025):
If you’ve felt overwhelmed by all the DOGE news, you’re not alone. You’d need too much cork board and yarn to keep track of which agencies it has occupied by now, much less what it’s doing there. Here’s a simple rubric, though, to help contextualize the DOGE updates you do have time and energy to process: It’s worse than you think. DOGE is hard to keep track of. This is by design; the only information about the group outside of its own mistake-ridden ledger of “savings” comes from media reports. So much for being “maximally transparent,” as Elon Musk has promised. The blurriness is also partly a function of the speed and breadth with which DOGE has operated. Keeping track of the destruction is like counting individual bricks scattered around a demolition site.
You may be aware, for instance, that a 19-year-old who goes by “Big Balls” online plays some role in all this. Seems bad. But you may have missed that Edward Coristine has since been installed at the nation’s top cybersecurity agency. And the State Department and the Small Business Administration. And he has a Department of Homeland Security email address and, by the way, also had a recent side gig selling AI Discord bots to Russians. See? Worse than you think. [...] Similarly, you’ve likely heard that the United States Agency for International Development has been gutted and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau has been put on ice. All true, all bad. But here’s what that means in practice: Fewer people globally have access to vaccines than they did a month ago. More babies are being born with HIV/AIDS. From here on out, anyone who gets ripped off by payday loan companies—or, say, social media platforms moonlighting as payments services—has lost their most capable defender. Keep going. The thousands of so-called probationary employees DOGE has fired included a significant number of experienced workers who had just been promoted or transferred. National Science Foundation staffing cuts and proposed National Institutes of Health grant limits will combine to kneecap scientific research in the United States for a generation. Terminations at the US Department of Agriculture have sent programs designed to help farmers into disarray. On Wednesday, the Food and Drug Administration canceled a meeting that would have given guidance on this year’s flu vaccine composition. It hasn’t been rescheduled.
Don’t care about science or vaccines? The Social Security Administration is reportedly going to cut its staff in half. The Department of Housing and Urban Development is going to be cut by as much as 84 percent. Hundreds of workers who keep the power grid humming in the Pacific Northwest were fired before a scramble to rehire a few of them. The National Parks Service, the Internal Revenue Service, all hit hard. So don’t make any long-term bets on getting your checks on time, keeping your lights on, buying a home for the first time, or enjoying Yosemite. Don’t assume all the things that work now will still work tomorrow.
Speaking of which, let’s not forget that DOGE has fired people working to prevent bird flu and to safeguard the US nuclear arsenal. (The problem with throwing a chainsaw around is that you don’t make clean cuts.) The agencies in question have reportedly tried to hire those workers back. Fine. But even if they’re able to, the long-term question that hasn’t been answered yet is, Who would stay? Who would work under a regime so cocksure and incompetent that it would mistakenly fire the only handful of people who actually know how to take care of the nukes? According to a recent report from The Bulwark, that brain drain is already underway. And this is all before the real reductions in force begin, mass purges of civil servants that will soon be conducted, it seems, with an assist from DOGE-modified, automated software. The US government is about to lose decades of institutional knowledge across who knows how many agencies, including specialists that aren’t readily replaced by loyalists.
Wired has a solid article on how bad the DOGE-ificiation of government has gotten.

I think the whole issue I have with Howl's character in HMC movie can be outlined in one brief sentence:
"You can't write Howl Pendragon without writing Howell Jenkins"

I used to clean office buildings and imagining the situations that have to be cleaned up after is making me lose it. Those janitors better either be getting paid upwards of $30 an hour or be OS themselves. Or both
Everyone at L-Tech is paid a stupid 80s-90s bubble economy type wage from the janitors to the OS... ♡ it helps them stay out of trouble like imagine the twitter discourse one person b like anyone concerned abt this hypno workforce and another person is like bro why should i gaf they are good to the working class then another person is like idc everyone there is a rich anyway and i would love to be hypnod. and I'm sure the OS would happily help the janitors clean up yippeeee

Nekoma 2nd years in their 3rd year braindump
Captain - Fukunaga
Vice Captain - Tora
Despite his quiet nature Fukunaga gets chosen as captain and he's suprisingly good. He has a way of leading without saying much, he just stares at people and they somehow understand what he means. Besides that he's the best option by default, Tora's too quick-to-anger and Kenma would never take a job with that much responsibility. If either of them was in charge they'd fight constantly since Tora would run that shit like the millitary while Kenma would try way too little. Fukunaga's the perfect balance— he's respected by both his third-year peers, keeps the energy fun with his jokes (but still knows when to take things seriously), gets super into the game, and isn't afraid to douse troublemakers with a bucket of water. He also brings snacks.
As vice captain Tora's essentially Fukunaga's personal megaphone. He does 90% of the yelling, scolds first-years who interupt the coach, and is the go-to-guy for gathering up the team for huddles. Initially some of the new players doubt Fukunaga's captain skills and although Fukunaga himself isn't bothered Tora gets super defensive of him. A lot of shouting about respecting your upperclassmen and whatnot. He also has the tendency to rile himself up (the other teams like to provoke him) but Fukunaga knows how to keep him in check
Tora and Fukunaga insist that Kenma is “Honorary Captain” and convince the new members to call him that. Kenma hates it. He tried to stop them but by the first week it had already stuck. Despite his distaste towards the nickname Kenma's a cornerstone of Nekoma's leadership, he's the brain after all! He's still the strategic mastermind of the team and first-years often go to him for advice (much to his dismay). He doesn't love being relied on by so many people but he tries his best for Kuroo's sake (who he calls to rant to at least 4 times a week).
Fukunaga asked Kuroo to teach him the “We are blood” chant so he could continue the tradition, but the first time he tried it in an actual game he burst out laughing before getting through a single line. Then Tora—being way too intense as always—started yelling at him to do it right, which only made him laugh harder. In the end Kenma put aside his embarrasement and did the damn chant, just to get it over with. Tora and Fukunaga were so proud that they tried to hug him right there in the middle of the court. The whole thing was a mess.
On his last day as captain the first-years dump a bucket of water over Fukunaga's head. Karma at last.

“Why eat a pig but not a dog-“
Because that’s how we evolved? Humans are animals, we know that right? We’re omnivores and animals like pigs are our natural prey. A shark could eat a cleaner fish but it doesn’t because it’s getting cleaned and you don’t bite the hand that gives. A human could eat a dog, (and some do, I won’t speak on that.) but we don’t because they have services to give outside of being food. Same thing with cats. With prey animals, the logic I’m surrounded by is we feed them and they feed us. the cycle of energy is just as important as the cycle of service. And both should be exercised with respect for those involved.

Just got an email that somewhat went like this:
„Hey, table top company here, we want you to make as many illustrations for us as possible for this project (but we want to hire just a few artists, so please do as many as possible). Payment is set on how we judge the quality of your illustrations („you can give a quote“ was mentioned much later and seems just like a vague guideline for them). Oh, and deadline is in April.“

Dave Jamieson at HuffPost:
President-elect Donald Trump said Monday that he plans to fire federal employees who continue to telework rather than show up in person at government agencies. “If people don’t come back to work, come back into the office, they’re going to be dismissed,” Trump said in a press conference at his Mar-a-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida. Trump and his advisers have said they want to institute mass layoffs in the federal workforce and will strip away remote work options so that people quit. But firing federal employees for working from home is easier said than done, since many federal union contracts allow for remote or hybrid work schedules. The incoming president lashed out at such arrangements and appeared to reference a new deal reached between the Social Security Administration and the union representing more than 40,000 employees. Social Security Commissioner Martin O’Malley, an appointee of President Joe Biden, recently agreed to a contract that extends telework scheduling into 2029, Bloomberg reported.
[...] Like other workplaces, many federal agencies instituted remote work during the pandemic and have not fully returned to in-office scheduling. A lot of workers cherish the flexibility, so their unions have been trying to lock in hybrid arrangements in their collective bargaining agreements. The president-elect’s new “Department of Government Efficiency,” an advisory body run by Trump allies Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, is already recommending remote scheduling be taken away. Musk and Ramaswamy have openly said the aim is to prompt federal workers to resign. (Editor’s note: Ramaswamy owns a stake in HuffPost’s parent company, BuzzFeed.) “Requiring federal employees to come to the office five days a week would result in a wave of voluntary terminations that we welcome: If federal employees don’t want to show up, American taxpayers shouldn’t pay them for the Covid-era privilege of staying home,” the pair recently wrote in The Wall Street Journal.
Deluded fascist lunatic Donald Trump endorses firings of government employees who refuse to return to in-person office work.
This is nothing more than an attack on workers’ rights and tool to erode morale at work.

I didnt have the chance to finish chapter 3 or play chapter 4 yet so I'll keep to myself today until I can resume that
I think i missed the secret boss in chapter 3 👹 but that's okay for now, I intend on replaying the whole game from the beginning once I've played CH3&4; first run is for seeing what's new and being excited, second is to have a comprehensive experience from beginning to "end" and have the time to embrace everything more critically
