there have been a few speculations in the tag and among the fans and they are all very good SO i am going to take this opportunity to insert a bit of my shipping bias as i like in my interpretation LMAO agdsfgdfgv

i noted that in actuality shuro seems to have a very good grasp on laios' character??? this is most obvious in the manga later on but even seeing how he criticises laios in their fight... iirc nothing he says is actually untrue or wildly exaggerated, and while he does express frustration over something he feels like laios Should have control over (noticing his cues), he is also aware that laios isnt being malicious and that hes Just Like That. what i mean to say is that while i think his version of laios may seem more pushy and in-your-face, i dont think it will be overwhelmingly so. if its post-fight, i think the idea of laios (and marcille) being willing to do anything to get falin back made a big impression on him, as well as the idea that they need to eat and rest in order to succeed in their goals, so those aspects would be prominent in his version. he seems pretty observant, so i think for the most part the physical traits would line up, but i think there would be specific things that stand out to him that would appear strangely striking on his version of laios (like. idk something about his eye colour or the subtle contrast of his armour and chainmail. he seems to have a weird sense of aesthetics if extras are anything to go by lmao). if hed actually been paying attention all those times laios had gone on about what the hell ever, then it might be even MORE hard to tell apart his version since he would also have a good grasp on what laios should know. so either his version of laios is pretty difficult to pick out, OR despite the character being accurate his appearance is too. stylised lmao (exaggerated features or something) OR!! they just get him to pull out his monster gourmet guide thing and are able to tell from there. iirc everyone was surprised at its appearance so its possible toshiro had also never seen it before

IN MY IMAGINARY SHIPPING SCENARIO............ lets say that his laios isnt able to be picked out immediately and that the monster guide thing also doesnt immediately occur to anyone. what the real laios Specifically notices is how close this other laios keeps getting to shuro. and hes like. ??? why is he getting so close to him, theres no way i get that close to him??? but no one else seems to be picking up on it as weird, so hes having a small crisis like do i REALLY get that close to him???? and now that hes on the outside he notices shuro subtly leaning away and he feels both a wave of shame and..... protectiveness??? (JEALOUSY??????) and he immediately steps in and grabs him like Hey!!! cant you see hes uncomfortable???? weve been through this already!!! and like. ok i cant believe im doing this again but i need to separate this into different endings

a) the whump route: i dont think shuro ever envisioned Actually Telling laios about his frustrations outside of being basically cornered into it. has he ever spoken up against what was expected of him?? has he ever been confrontational???? i think part of what held him back from expressing his frustrations, along with the cultural norms, could be fear of what the reaction would be. if he had done the same in any other aspect of his life (his family, his inheritance), i think he would expect disappointment, disapproval, more proof that he doesnt add up to expectation. to be honest i dont think he Truly believes that laios is the type of person to react like this. but it was strong enough to prevent him from acting and i think would be projected onto his image of laios. maybe fake!laios says something dismissive like Well if it really bothered him hed say something right? what, he cant even stand up for himself? cmon, shuro, prove that you cant handle it just like everything else. and thats pretty much the fastest giveaway that it isnt really laios. of course this would be a HUGE tonal departure from what the actual episode/chapter was, so:

b) the dumbass route: both laioses break into fisticuffs, and, yes.... barking. and so they speedrun the entire encounter as the shapeshifters true form appears and, after laios points out that thinking too hard about others versions of you can tear apart groups and peace of mind, they pointedly do not speak of it again. they think about it though. a LOT

c) the normal route: both laioses argue normal like and the group ends up being able to tell them apart because the fake laios goes on a little too long about how theyre all here for falin and everyones like ok its not like he DOESNT love his sister but.......... the rest of the scenario probably goes like canon, though then i would want to see what everyone Else thought of shuro

THE SPECIFICS OF THIS SHOT. i was gonna make a post a while ago being like "idk i find it funny that the main focus of this shot isnt even one of the poets" and then i realised that WAITTTTTTT THATS THE POINT!!!! keating reached kids besides the poets!!! u didnt have to be in the dead poets society to be affected by the way he taught his classes!!! u just had to be his student!!!!! also i love the fact that the kids who stayed seated r ASHAMED. EMBARRASSED.

the ending shot. oihghgghgg. it was SUCH a choice to set it up this way and honestly i adore peter for making it. this shot is SOOOO UNCOMFORTABLE TO LOOK AT and i love it. when i first watched this i was like "uhm ok interesting choice putting todd between this kids legs but I GET IT. one of the biggest things i remember from the film classes i took is that the way u set up shots is sooo important narratively, and one way to rly push the narrative is the space around a character in a shot. for example! if u have a character on screen surrounded by a TON of negative space then it rly emphasises how alone/ isolated they are. on the other end of the spectrum (the todd spectrum), if you surround a character in a shot with other objects or obstructions, like todd and this kids legs, then it rly emphasises how trapped and confined they are. looking at this makes me feel like. claustrophobic almost, like it's genuinely a bit harder to breathe looking at it. TODD IS STILL TRAPPED IN THAT SCHOOL. YES HE STOOD ON THE DESK AND YES HE NOW HAS THE MOTIVATION TO BE MORE CONFIDENT BC OF NEIL BUT HE! IS STILL! TRAPPED THERE!

i was also gonna add that we dont rly talk about todd personality wise outside of poetry and anxiety but then i realised, what else is there? we dont really see much about him as a person outside of that, and i think thats the point! todd is constantly overshadowed by his brother, we know that, but i dont think we realise HOW MUCH that ties in with his entire character. quite honestly, outside of poetry and anxiety, ALL we have surrounding todd is his brother and his achievements. and of course! that makes sense! his parents want him to be just like his brother, they dont care about who he is as a person. Maybe a factor of it played into it because he just saved you, but some part of you could tell a fraction of him enjoyed teasing you with his playful gaze. As if you knew what he were to already say.

The public here avoid trouble but when they see terrible news on the media, they flock together like birds to ready themselves into war. It's nearly impossible to fight against society's norms, but you suspect that's why nobody but him offered such help.

And you were lucky.

Seems like it won't be the only time you'd meet this stranger by the looks of it. He said nothing more than patting your shoulder softly, then moving back inside the building.

Pavia wouldn't be the best at trying to offer comfort but he knows better than anybody else on how events like these tend to fuck you over. The shit people put up with on a daily basis makes him want to spit on lowly people for even thinking they have the right to breathe the same air as you.

Pavia merely reached his hand towards your trembling figure. He seemed to contemplate whether it was a good choice to get to know you, but under these circumstances, that stalker could still be lingering about. What better to do than to have him offered to sit beside you until you feel safe to go on your own again.

I think that right now you are carrying many opinions and beliefs that are blockers in your life, they are stopping you from moving forward and being completely in sync with the God in you, you still are not aware of the depths of you and your power. I feel like there is a part of you that is buried underneath and you havent gone thru an ego death. Either some events will happen to you or you will witness something that might shatter your world. Something will happen that will push you to change from your roots. There are some limitations in your thinking process that put you in a box, or somehow limit your being, it almost feel like you arent trusting yourself and are holding back. What will happen is, you will change yout perspective and start viewing the world differently. You will strenghten your relationship with the divine and you will preach what you believe in. Its like purification of the mind, seeing the bigger picture and finding the truth. After this, pile three, you will be unstoppable. Your mind will no longer be clouded easily and i think you will move on from reocuring thoughts or patterns and finally let go. i get a little sad when typing this but believe me in the end you will be grateful.I also feel like i should tell you that you are protected, so dont worry about it.

-he has a huge ass tank of water with sand, rocks and shit at the bottom like the ocean where he can rest under his home while in his merform if he cant/doesnt want to go to the open sea. its almost the size of his entire mansion with the water almost to the top of the ceiling, just enough room for you to go up the stairs leading to a platform where you get in. it has state of the art equipment to keep the water flowing, clean, and the perfect temp too as well as low lighting, theres also a litte area where you can look through the glass wall like an aquarium, he loves when you come over and press your hands and face to the glass like an excited kid hoping to get a glimps of him, he thinks its the cutest shit ever and will tease you for it but will be devastated if you stop

-speaking of, he likes to show off while you watch either though the glass or from the platform, doing pretty swim tricks and moves, especially if it shows how beautiful and strong his tail is. he says youre like an excited little kid seeing him (you are) but hes the one going 'bodyguard, look at this!' and doing a spin in the water LMFAO he so lame i love him sm

-he loves when you join him in the tank so much, just cuddling in the soft sand or on a smooth rock, your body resting on his bigger ones chest as he wraps his arms around you to keep you from falling/floating off with the man-made current inside. he will also curl his tail up to wrap around you sometimes. you two usually just cuddle or sleep in there since you cant swim fast enough to keep up with him or anything, but he does enjoy when you lay on his chest again and he slowly floats with the current, talking about your days or bullying eachother

-he used to have other aquatic animals in there with him but cut back when you kept paying attention to them instead of him lmao he got jealous and tossed(gently and properly released) them back into the ocean. now theres a lot fewer animals, mainly ones that help keep the waters ecosystem healthy. there are two bonded turtles that you named after rafayel and yourself (raffy jr and y/n jr) that he just cant bring himself to get rid of tho lmao you called them yalls kids and now he finds himself bringing them special snacks and making sure theyre perfectly healthy and happy, the big sap

-idk about yall but if that was me i would also take the opportunity to bully him, bringing like an apple or something and when he comes to the surface to greet you, hold out the slices and tell him to do a trick like you would a dolphin or seal. he grabs you by the leg and yanks you into the water for this. (never keep any non waterproof items on you when near the tank btw) he says that he should drown you like sirens in tales of old for this too, he is a mighty lemurian, not some stupid fish at a zoo for you to make do tricks (he is all bark and no bite, just huffy you teased him like that)

-if you dont feel like fully getting in the water, you can just sit on the platform while he rests his arms on it to keep his upper body out of the water so you can chat and kiss. be warned that if you have your legs in the water he will grab them to scare you lmfao but he will also lay his head on your lap, not caring if he gets your pants wet, just pet his hair dammit. he likes when you dont wear clothes when you visit, not even just for a sexual reasons but so when he lays his head on your legs, he can feel your skin against his cheek plus they dont get wet

-he also likes it because it feels more natural, yk? you dont wear lots of thick clothes underwater after all. if you are fully naked he would be over the moon (and flustered) but if you just have swim clothes on hes happy too, especially if you model them to look like lemurians did </3

-he def makes you traditional lemurian jewlery with sea shells and rocks and such, as well as ones that fit your style/culture :3 and you have to wear them at least everytime youre in the water with him! or he will die! even better if you wear them all the time tho

-sometimes he gets kinda melancholic, it reminds him of when you first met all those years ago and everything that has transpired since...but he tries not to dwell on it long, just glad that you two are together again now and happy. if you see him seem mopey for seemingly no reason, pls wrap yourself around his tail and bite him, it will help draw him from his sadder thoughts and into the present moment

-when he does go into the ocean he is a lot more cautious bringing you, especially if you arent the strongest swimmer(yes he bullies you for that too) he makes sure to always keep you close, preferably holding you at all times. he loves to show you his favorite things underwater though, like a group of pretty coral, some cool fish he saw hanging around, or even a cave he has claimed as his hideout

-since the ocean isnt as controlled as his tank, he makes sure you don't spend too long in there and have the proper equipment like swimming shoes and protective glasses, even if you can breath underwater, that doesnt mean the salt wont burn your eyes or you wont cut your foot on a sharp rock

-all in all he loves to be in his natural form and be with you :)

why is gene's song kinda making me emotional..... like this show is usually 50/50 on if it actually wants to take gene's songwriting ability seriously but in this episode its so clear how much he LOVES music and songwriting and how talented he is at it. he has trouble with focus and commitment sometimes but thats never an issue when it comes to his music and he'd happily spend an entire afternoon writing a song from start to finish (even skipping out on dinner) because he was so hyperfocused. love how much respect they give gene in this episode tbh

the bond between rhaenyra and alicent is crazy. by the point the dinner happens and viserys dies theyve been enemies longer than theyd been friends. everyone has perfectly good reasons to think they would no longer care about each other. otto is the only one truly paying attention, and therefore he kinda knows. hell, even alicent and rhaenyra seem to be taken aback by each other at times. the years they spent living at the keep together must have been insane

this is the thing though (and i've said this before and i'll say it again!) - we're given plenty of evidence to suggest rhaenyra and alicent were so built into each others lives prior to alicent marrying viserys that they were basically one entity. alicent was rhaenyra's childhood companion they were always together, like to the point of unhealthy codependency lmao, thats just the nature of it; it was just them, no other playmates or classmates or friends. just them. together. always. likely from a very young age. and we know they were at least some form of in love with each other, i think thats been confirmed enough at this point for me to say that without needing to argue my point.

and then they get torn apart and maybe dont say one genuinely kind thing to each other for years. but the issue is they only hated each other so much because they loved each other so much first. every unkind act is based in 'i loved you and you betrayed me', 'i loved you and you hurt me', 'i still love you and apparently it doesnt matter' and they can never really hope to reconcile the amount they loved and depended on each other because they never get any closure for it so they just keep loving each other underneath it all and using that pain to foster their resentment of each other. their shared past is just a gaping bloody wound and its never going to heal.

and you're right its not actually that surprising that so few people see the truth of it because rhaenyra and alicents past is only kept alive in them and openly disparage each other for decades and they never speak about their past to anyone (that we see). as ive pointed out previously daemon and criston are their respective confidantes and theres no way they would feel comfortable sharing any of the lingering positive feelings they have for one another with either of them.

and sorry for the tangent but just linking back to my earlier posts today: i do still think the evolution of their relationship was a bit rushed/whiplash inducing (as quite a few elements were, that was the sacrifice made to keep the pace up). they came back too easily from the brink in a way that seemed overly narratively advantageous to rhaenyra - but regardless their story still holds up in a way i cant help but find ridiculously compelling. i still think making this change was a great way to critique the nature of the source material because now you have these two women at the centre of this story who are unquestionably victims and had so little choice and i know some people dont like that because its uncomfortable or w/e and certainly the execution leaves a bit to be desired but to me it just seems unrealistic for them to be anything else? look at the world they live in. the reality they face. we see time and time again in our own world women strive to collaborate and build bridges and men tear them down and pit women against each other and i dont think its reductive or psuedo-feminist to make that phenomenon a central aspect of this story when its set in such a heavily patriarchal world.

A MISSION THAT WOULD HAVE AND SHOULD HAVE GOTTEN HIM KILLED! the only reason he doesn't die is because Time Travel Spock saves himself!!!!!

Spock has to know that asking Sarek to try and ' better understand his son ' is pointless. Like, he has to know, but he still asks him to anyways! Because he's standing in front of his child self KNOWING that he almost died trying to both fit into society and prove himself worthy to his father.

Okay now I'm going down a mental Spock rabbit hole that ultimately has me thinking of Spock choosing to attend Starfleet rather than the VSA.

Like, I dont think Spock ever really had any problems with standing against his father, but THAT DECISION was DIFFERENT!!!! IT CAUSED, LIKE, A TWENTY YEAR RIFT BETWEEN THEM!!!!

So Spock just wants his father to UNDERSTAND.

Because Sarek is a very intelligent individual, like, this is known. And he is known to be extremely stubborn , but it doesn't seem like he is willing to emphasize with his son.

HE SAYS IT HIMSELF IN THIS EPISODE!!! it's either the human way, or the Vulcan way. No cuts no buts no coconuts!!! But in a very physiological way, Spock will always have both ways!

It seems to me here that Sarek and most of Vulcan don't know what to make of Spock. Even the Vulcan healer recognizes Spock likely because he's OneOfAKind in a sense- like, Oh it's the half breed kid.

He will always be "too emotional" for Vulcans and "not emotional enough" for Humans, even though THATS NOT TRUE!!! All Vulcans have emotions , but because Spock's human heritage is public knowledge, everyone pays close attention to any even perceived portrayal of feeling; even if that portrayal is normal Vulcan behavior.

went from Vulcan, where they treated him differently cus he was too human and had human blood

Urusei Yatsura (2022)

I am just not the target audience for this. This is probably a nostalgia ridden show that people who watched the original will love and enjoy but I am not that person and with the two eps I watched I had enough. The jokes were not funny to me all characters were annoying and yeah the animation is nice but I will not put myself through something I will not enjoy for it tbh. Watch it if you liked the original ig

Tonikaku Kawaii: SeifukU

I dislike tonikaku with a passion it gives go girl give us nothing to the negative 20 no flavor no taste still the same shiz as the show so yeah. Watch it if you liked the series lmao its more of the same

Shinobi no Ittoki

I guess…… Its really kinda bland and I can’t pinpoint why. The concept is interesting but it just doesn’t hold up in its execution and I dont care for it run sorry do better I guess

I try so hard to care, SO hard. Since season 1 I have found this show to be kinda…. All over. Like the only storyline I cared about was the one with the kid with the mask last season and since that its just been meh to me. Like, we already kinda know how everything is going to go and all the arcs are kinda the same, they show us someone, we care for them for like half an episode, they die, repeat.

This was cute! A refreshing romcom from the ones weve gotten recently tbh. I liked it even though I have a different interpretation of the road they took it in the end but it was a fun show to watch with some nice gags and cute characters, defo give it a go!

Renai Flops

Okay hear me out. This one is in a weird place but hear me out. I hate everything this anime stands for because it was such a cliche weird and ecchi but it was such an interesting train wreck I HAD to keep on watching every episode and when I least expected it I was suddenly on ep 6 and the twist left me screAmiNG. It kinda goes downhill again after ep 7 but just because it took me so off guard (dont wanna spoil it but aloO) it goes high up, gg 1 for the ecchi trash 0 for Maria this round.

Yowamushi Pedal: Limit Break

Ngl this season of yowapeda hasn't been as hyped as I hoped for me but I care so much about the characters I will place it high up SKSKSKSK its basically more of the same; I honestly miss the upperclassman a lot but its okay my babies appear like for .2 frames and I start sobbing

THIS IS HOW YOU DO CUTE GIRLS (AND TSUKASA LY BESTIE) DOING CUTE STUFF IN A GOOD WAY. If you like Saiki K you'll like this show. I dont know how to explain it but it gives the energy from Saiki K and I loved it they are very important and relevant.
